Ivan stands at about “6.0”, and he’s got a decent build from work outs, even though he’s not super strong, it isn’t like his arms are noodles, just the right strength for him to be able to carry out tasks such as moving heavy things around, and he can hold his own in a fight, even if he tries to avoid unneeded conflict.
His skin isn’t pale, at least not to anyone who doesn’t live in Undella Town. He is a light tan, and this is from the fact that Ivan has never really been a beach person. He prefers to sit under an umbrella, and always has. He used to watch his twin brother Reever and little sister play in the water, rather than join them.
Ivan has very pale, sandy hair which looks silver or white in the sunlight. His brown eyes seem to stand out more because of this, and because of how tan his brother is, it is easy enough to tell the two apart. Ivan is very lean, and his style of dress isn’t very complicated.
He normally wears a collared shirt, a black or gray tie. And a reversible jacket to top it off, so from time to time, his jacket will change from blue with green to green with blue. To complete the outfit, he wears a pair of brown converses, which are often covered up by his long blue jeans. His smile is moderately white, because he’s always on top of brushing. He also has a tattoo of a Rayquaza that curls from his torso, over his shoulder, and down his back, and the ink work is all in black.
Personality:
A pretty cool guy? Maybe…: Ivan isn’t a nerd, but at the same time, he enjoys studying, which contributes very much to him wanting to be a doctor. Though, that doesn’t take up all his time. Ivan spent a lot of time inside as a kid, and so he’s pretty eager to be outdoors now that he’s an adult and actually has a new mindset. He likes taking long walks….but preferably not on the beach.
I can be Protective: Ivan can be very defensive of those he cares about. He tries not to resort to violence since he isn’t really a fan of it, but if he actually wants to fight you, then you’ve obviously hurt someone who he really cares about. He’s always looking out for his brother, his little sister, his cousins, and even his dad from time to time.
Am I Hard-headed?: This is probably one of Ivan’s biggest faults. When you try, there is really no arguing with Ivan. He seems to always think he’s right when it comes to certain things, like directions, or when he is certain that his way is the only way to do something, he’ll argue with you for hours if he can…and he’s normally pretty bad at it.
A soft-spot? Sure.: Ivan has a pretty soft heart when it comes to girls, and this normally cancels out his hard-headed trait, specifically when arguing with them. He needs someone who will argue right back at him and show him he really is wrong… and if he ends up making her cry well, he’ll spend days trying to make it up to her if she’s really mad at him for that long.
Goofy: Ivan can be a goof ball, pretty good when it comes to his own sarcasm, though a lot of the time his witt is pretty off. He likes to goof around with friends and family who know him well, and this trait aids him greatly in making friends as well.
Solo? Well, I’m used to it: Finally, Ivan has a bit of a problem when it comes to independence. He prefers to do things without help, but this is only because he is used to fending for himself when it comes to life, and that plays into how hard-headed he can be.

Ivan C. Harthaway was born in Undella town along with his twin brother, Reever A. Harthaway. Their parents, Robert and Hannah, hadn’t been expecting twins, but for the two it was indeed a pleasant surprise. Hannah doted on the two all the time, and was very lenient when it came to rules , even though she was always sure Ivan and Reever were up to no good. Robert was a little harder on the boys, but when he would scold them, they’d often find an excuse to run outside before he could say anything else.
Ivan and Reever were always incredibly close, and many of the older residents of Undella described them as two peas in a pod. Ivan and Reever were always happy to earn these kind of compliments, and this led to their ‘Innocent Twins’ act, the one thing they’d use to get out of trouble every time they were in it. When the two were four, they got news from their mother that her sister Mana Katayko, had her first child, a little girl which she had decided to name Sandy. When Mana and jack visited, Ivan and Reever decided that they’d treat Sandy like she was their own sister, and would talk to her even though she had no idea what they were saying.
That love for her continued, and even as the twins became seven and she became three, they still would always insist on caring for her and giving Mana a break, and Sandy learned to love them as well. Though, happy times couldn’t last forever, and no one knew that better than Ivan’s father Robert.
When their little sister, Tammy was born, that was when tragedy hit. Their mother died shortly afterwards from birth complications. Apparently, it was something that the women of the Katayko family were prone to, as at least two women in the family had died for the same reasons. Either way, it hit very hard. Robert withdrew from his children, not able to bare the grief he felt, and he took up drinking. A nice woman that lived in Undella helped care for Tammy free of charge, but the twins were suffering. There was hardly a moment when Robert was sober, and he’d often pick on them for anything and everything.
Even on the day they graduated the Pokemon trainers school upon turning eighteen, only Sandy attended the Ceremony from all the way in Hoenn. Still, the twins didn’t stop loving their father, they just thought he was an idiot, and in a rebellious phase, Ivan got himself a tattoo, something which he doesn’t regret, he just in a way wishes he would have gotten it later on in life, and not at the age of eighteen.
When he turned twenty one, he decided to leave Unova for Johto, to visit Sandy and maybe start his own journey with Pokemon, at this point interested in becoming a Pokemon Doctor after spending all his time around the Pokemon Center in his teen years. Ivan stayed with Sandy at her house for a short time, and rather than get an official starter from professor Elm, Sandy let him have a few of hers after he obtained his Pokedex. That was how Ivan’s journey began, and he could only hope that it would go smoothly.
Goals:
Become a Pokemon Doctor, learn a lot more about Herbs on his Journey, Encounter a Ditto, Meet his Idol Pryce.
