OOC: switch out Combusken and Pansage for Lombre and Sandshrew, thank you very much! And under Snover, can you edit the OT line with "Rhoan Xavier"? the actual full name of tyger's char and Dustox is just flying with my char. (: Status: Cherrygrove City IC: After his little misfortune of the rain and getting stuck in the Dark Cave, Alex felt unprepared for the impending steel type pokemon. Something he would have to depend on other pokemon to defeat. After all, metals can crush a bug or hinder plant growth really badly. Thankfully at least, after his release from the Dark Cave prison, he packed his things from Violet City Pokemon Center and moved back to Cherrygrove City for the time being. Though much to his worry, his Combusken had evolved from the warm-hearted Torchic. Now she has been gifted with arms to throw warm, possibly strangling hugs. However, now he needed to raise his other pokemon as well. After he had sorted his things an rented a room, he deposited his Combusken and naughty Pansage for the obedient, slightly clingy Sandshrew he had won as a prize somewhere he can't remember, and the somewhat non-social Lombre he had caught from the Safari Zone. After all this moving-madness, he borrowed the Center's computer and spent a day or two working on his applications for some summer jobs to fulfill his resume experience for future doctor job. Strapping on his backpack and carrying a folder of printed sheets of resume papers on his hand, and the map of Cherrygrove City, the aspiring doctor departed the Pokemon Center with a single goal on his mind. As if his pokemon can read his mind through the pokeballs, as soon as he left the Center, his Dustox popped out and flew above him, gliding the cool summer winds. Now, he look carefully at his maps and began to look for something like clinics or hospitals or health centers to work for this season... Occasionally looking up not to bump into people or light poles or tripping on trash on the floor.

Summer had hit the region of Johto once more, basking the lands in a wave of heat and lush green surroundings. This time of the year was perfect for most, kicking off the blankets and hot water bottles in replacement for playing out in the open or spending precious time at the beach. But on the rare occurrences, the humidity of the season also brought with it some nasty weather. In this case, today was one of those days in Cherrygrove City. The heat being also irritable, it had brought in an array of grey storm clouds, deep rumblings echoing overhead as they decided to settle above the quaint, seaside town. Not even giving the inhabitants below a chance to pack their belongings away and dash back home, the unrelenting clouds poured whatever they held. Drop by drop, a sudden heavy pounding of rain hit the city, surprised squeals from civilians rippling between the sounds of quickening footsteps of people dashing for cover.
But it wasn't just the people who were taken by surprise of the sudden change in weather. Recently, a rather elegant type of bird had taken roost in the streets of Cherrygrove and such Pokemon fled their previous home in order to dodge the foul weather of the winter months. Clearly, it had followed them. Oblivious as a group huddled together in a hidden nest, it was only when the splatters of water hit their cotton like wings that one managed to awaken. A bit dazed and disorientated after only just waking up, a sudden rumble and clash of thunder and lighting directly overhead really shook the nest up. Squawking with fear, each of the exotic avians took flight, splitting up from each other in their haste to find a more appropriate shelter. The youngest of the bunch fled to the nearest alley way, eyes flinched shut in fear. Unknowing and uncaring of it's direction, the young Swablu found itself crashing into the body of a fellow flying Pokemon... Or more importantly, Alex's Dustox!

(I like that first paragraph!) As soon as Alex had felt the first drop, he rushed to some local store's extending roof and quickly pull out a jacket from his backpack and also put his files into his backpack. No way he or his important stuffs are going to get wet! "Tox!" the moth landed on his head as got out of the store. Soon, the rain downpour and she fluttered about a bit before they passed by an alleyway and she was collided by a blue cotton bird. Normally Dustox don't mind the rain, as long as the temperature wasn't cold. The sudden impact stirred the trainer to look up... he spotted the scene and also got his face pelted by the rain. Hearing the sound of thunder and the splatter of rain, he thought of squeezing in a battle. And plus, this bird looks rather exotic and wasn't present when he was in cherrygrove the last time he visited. "Go, Lodd! Nature Power!" the trainer tossed a pokeball in the rain. The oddball leaf duck, as soon as she got out of the pokeball, stared at the Swablu with her part lazy and part intimidating and part quizzical eyes before launching an attack with her hands. And by that, she only stared at the Swablu. Not the dustox, not the trainer. She was quiet, and motionless. Her action puzzled Alex as he began to try to understand her. OOC: use lombre and use nature power. and remember it's swift swim lombre

The Swablu squawked, fluttering its wings wildly as it tried to regain its balance and not crash into the ground. Spreading its wings wide, it finally righted itself in the air, circling a few times before settling on the ground. The bird shot Tackzill a nasty look as it fluffed its wings and tried to make it look like it had meant to land. It seemed surprised when Lodd appeared in a burst of light, and staggered backwards, half-spreading its wings as if it intended to fly away.
But it never got a chance, as Lodd was already attacking, sped on by the rain falling all around them as the water collected in her dish. Clapping her hands together, she closed her eyes and sucked in a breath, drawing in the power of the elements around her. She felt the cool concrete street beneath her feet, the buzz of electrical lines above, and the heat of a fireplace just a few blocks away. Opening her eyes, she channeled all this energy into her hands, watching in awe as it formed into three swirling balls, one red, one blue, and one yellow. Not wasting any more time, Lodd launched the swirling mass of energy at the Swablu. The bird felt its wings fluff up as the energy ball drew closer, and it let out a shriek as the orb slammed into it, knocking it skyward.
Wasting no time, the bird quickly regained control of itself, turning in midair to angle itself back toward the Lombre. Tucking its wings, the Swablu dove, speeding up at gravity took over. At the last second, it spread its fluffy wings and swooped overhead, throwing a few jabbing pecks at Lodd as it made a flyby. Lodd yelped, throwing her arms in the air and trying to fend off the attack, but to no avail.

Under this rain, Alex can kind of see the battle with the flurry of water pounding down on his jacket, face, and the pokemon battles, and the surrounding. What he was amazed with, however, was the power of Nature Power. He thought, so in cities it becomes tri attack... But his disdain for rain pushed him to end this battle quickly.
As the dustox quickly regain her position by landing on Alex, the trainer was preparing for a different kind of move. He reached into his pocket and picked up an empty pokeball.
"Let's dry your fluffs!" He shouted awkwardly has he tossed the pokeball.
The pokeball, drenched in the rain, went toward the exotic bird and hit it. Alex, Lodd, and Tackzill watched and standby as the rather usual capture process begins again... Though Lodd seemed to be staring off into space, rather.

((ooc: -1 pokeball deducted from inventory)) The spherical snapped open right when it knocked against the bird's head. The Swablu let out a half-startled, half-angry screech as red light enveloped around its body, sucking it into the Pokeball. The ball quickly snapped shut with the Swablu inside and fell to the ground, rocking violently on the muddy ground. The blue bird knocked against the sides of the Pokeball in attempt to burst free. Unfortunately, the Pokeball's walls were very resistant to the bird's constant tackles. Exhausted, the Swablu finally gave up, grudgingly admitting it was quite dry and cozy in here. A better improvement than the rainy weather outside. Congratulations! Box and Blank, thanks! (: Status: Cherrygrove City
As soon as the Swablu was captured and the pokeball stopped wobbling, Tackzill playfully used her psychic power and trailed it in the air almost aimlessly before returning the pokeball to Alex. She knew herself that her psychic power would still need some practice. On the other hand, the trainer returned his lotus pokemon and continued moving.
Tugging onto his raincoat, the aspiring doctor began again walking toward his destination. It would be hazardous to run in this rain as the water puddles could splash dirt and muck on your clothes, ruining your first impression. The dustox fluttered above Alex, slowly tagging along his cautious speed.
He hoped the sky would stop raining as he walked, careful with each and every step not to splash a puddle or sink his foot in deep water..

A wild Skitty on the other hand had been enjoying the water as it seemed comforting and certainly playful with it. As most Skittys were, the small kit Pokémon was jumping in the puddles, amusing itself with small things such as this. Its coat was covered with large areas of mud, but still the pink and yellow fur could be noticeable still. The Pokémon swished its large tail once more as it jumped into another large pile of water and mud mixture from the rainstorm that had just happened not at all minding the filth that it was getting on itself. As the Skitty looked up, the kit Pokémon noticed that someone was coming and instantly its thoughts were moved away from the mud that it had been enjoying for some time. Skitty hadn’t been tame and used to humans like some wild pokemon were. The Skitty was more of an elusive one who hardly wanted contact with them. And so far it seemed to be doing just fine with its life. Of having a care free one as well, there was hardly much of a worry in the Pokémon’s eyes. That is, if a human came along, that was another story. The Skitty quickly shook off its coat trying to get off as much mud as it could before it would dart away. It felt its heart pounding out of fear afraid that Alex would be after it in order to capture it and claim it as his own. As the Skitty started to run, the Pokémon soon lost its footing in the slippery mud and tripped into it sliding chest first into the ground. And the feline like Pokémon had once again been covered in dirt as it started to get back up. Now it was certain that Alex would be after it. A wild Skitty (Level 7) has appeared and it seems to be frightened by your presence. Do you want to challenge it to a battle or flee? Weather Condition=None!

As the rain had cleared, Alex put down the cap of his raincoat and could see the streets clearly. Tackzill fluttered above happily as she shook off the water on her soaked wings. Just as he was walking and carefully treading the sporadic puddle-forming street, he spotted this exotic pink feline.
Not that he knows the name of this pokemon, but he have a feeling that capturing this pokemon could be helpful for his grass type and bug type studies. Fully aware of his selfish intention, the trainer pulled out a pokeball and ordered an offense.
"Lodd, intercept with Nature Power!" he tossed the pokeball and aimed it to the dry part of the street just so not getting the pokeball wet.
Out of the pokeball, the Lombre stared nonchalantly at the cat briefly before charging a ball of energy in her hands.

The Skitty was barely given time to even scramble up to its paws before the Lombre was upon it. Unleashing the energy gathered from the earth, the Lombre launched a ball of energy that spun with bright colors of blue, yellow, and red. The Skitty could only brace itself before the ball of pure energy hit it square in the chest, the impact sending the poor kitten skidding across the muddy ground. The Skitty let out a yowl of pain as the sensation of being burned, electrified, and frozen coursed through its whole body until the painful sensation left it weak and shivering. Shakily getting back onto its paws, the cat let out a hiss, pink fur bristling as it glared at the Lombre. Haunches bunched up, the Skitty gave a mere flick of its tail before it dashed towards Lodd, ramming its head against the Lombre that sent the Pokemon stumbling back from the impact with a grunt of pain. -------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------- Wild Pokemon BattleWeather=Clear

After Alex had witnessed again the bolt of Nature Power's Tri Attack on the small, cutesy feline, he was ready to make his next move. Since he had weakened the foe with a single move, he would repeat what he have done with the swablu from earlier. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a familiar red and white pokeball.
Ye ol' pokeball. He thought, except that was by somebody else but his voice.
"Brrrreeeeee" Lodd growled and stretched her voice as if bored by the commotion.
Uninterrupted by this, the trainer quickly tossed the pokeball just as he had grabbed it from the abyss of pocket. The regular pokeball flew toward the squealing cat.
Tackzill lightly flapped her wings as she watched the rather familiar motion. The soft and gentle flaps of her wings blew the puddles on the ground... She was mildly amused by observing and not battling.

The loud Skitty had noticed that the trainer had sent forth the pokeball as it quickly spun, starting to come closer and closer to where the feline pokemon was standing. The Lombre seemed to not be concerned at all at this point as the Skitty darted forward, attempting to avoid the pokeball, knowing what may happen if it certainly did strike. Skitty had seen this before, the pokeball meant capturing it and there was no chance of returning to the wild at this rate. The Skitty continued to run with its tail bouncing behind it after each step. However, it's running soon came to an end as the Skitty slid into another mud puddle, a different one that it had not been playing with before. And slid onto the other side landing face first into the ground. The Skitty had no strength to get up, as it tried to capture it's breath from the sudden fall that it took. It's fur once again was covered in mud, it realized that maybe it's day was just getting worse by the moment. But it barely reacted once the pokeball came serving in its direction, and tapped the pink feline on the head. Skitty was sucked in side by a red light as the pokeball landed near by the mud pit that it had once fallen into. The pokeball started to wiggle now as the usual anticipation came for the trainer and their pokemon. Lombre stood firm and tall in case the Skitty decided to make an escape from the red sphere's grasp. It wiggled once, twice, and ever so slowly it moved a third time. Then finally, CLICK! The ball had closed shut and remained still as the red light flashed on the front of the pokeball. Announcing that the Skitty had been captured. Congratulations, you have successful captured a wild Skitty! Please fill out the forum below. -Blank and Box Skitty, thanks! -switch Torkoal for Sandshrew -Lombre: Forget Growl for Fake out ----Looks like Sacred Fire took care of these (: -Also request Silver -For continuity, note that our characters never exchange names, and I don't plan to. LOL. So Silver shouldn't call out my name anyways. (though for rp purpose, maybe you could include my char winning the safari zone winner thing like Joey's Tobias had put in our thread lol) Status: Route 30 IC: Carefully avoiding the muds, Alex picked up the pokeball just as quickly he had tossed it. Tackzill followed casually, flapping her wings. Lodd, on the other hand, brushed her paws as if they were dirtied by the mud, even though her hands did not touch the ground at all. After he had pocketed the pokeball, he had returned his lombre and dustox. He knew that moping around the streets with all these battles won't help him get his tasks done. He hurried quickly to his destinations and file applications...
One summer later, he had finished his experience in Cherrygrove City. The trainer thought he should go back to his trainer self and move on and perhaps try this gym battle thing that people have told him about. He spent a whole evening and night packing his things into his backpack and his travelling suitcase. Early in the morning, when summer is soon over, he immediately got up and checked out of Pokemon Center. With a new goal in mind, the trainer/to-be-doctor strolled casually on Route 30 with a backpack on his back, one hand pulling a suitcase, and a dustox on his head. His body charged with energies of the new ambition, and it won't be long when he reaches Violet City again.

As Alex trotted down Route 30, a dark aura seemed to follow him, as if a ghost or curse had attached itself to him. The Pokemon all shied away, both seeking shelter from the heat and from the eerie feeling that the young doctor-to-be brought with him. Alex himself was oblivious to it, but a lone figure followed him at a distance, watching the trainer with a loathing gaze. Initially, the person hadn't been intending to follow Alex, but a spark of a memory and an interesting headline in the local newspaper had urged them to follow the young trainer. After Alex was out of the city and deep into the route, far away from civilization of any form, the mysterious person decided to make their presence known. Circling around through the nearby woods, the person got in front of the trainer without being detected, and waited a moment before stepping out from behind the trees.
"Well, well, look who it is," the red-headed trainer sneered, glaring at Alex with what could only be described as a death glare. "Still as weak as ever, eh? I saw that stunt you pulled in the papers. Winning some contest or something. I bet you wasted the whole trip running around like the weakling that you are." Grinning cruelly, the trainer's crimson gaze flickered up to where Tackzill was perched on Alex's head. "You have some valuable Pokemon, though. I suppose I could beat your weak ass into the dirt, and then I could make some dough off whatever trash you scrounged up in the Safari Zone." Flicking his wrist casually, he tossed a Pokeball out, releasing a Zubat into the fray. The bat fluttered awkwardly for a moment before regaining its composure and hovering beside its trainer, nervously awaiting its orders.
The mysterious jerk-wad red-headed trainer is back, and demands another battle! He sends out a Zubat (level 8)! Choose a Pokemon for battle! (Sunny Day will be in effect)

OOC: Torkoal used Ember. LOL, hilarious post.
IC: Alex paused as he was pulling his luggage and saw the faintly familiar redhead demanding a battle. While that opponent was speaking, his mind wandered a little trying to remember who that was... Oh! The guy with cyndaquil! As soon as he remembered the trainer, the atmosphere suddenly intensified. It's not like that guy gives a good vibe to him anyways. Additionally, his comments on his Safari Zone luckiness was rather interesting... and disturbing.
Feeling perturbed by the presence of his recurring snide comments, Alex pulled out a pokeball and readied for battle.
"Since you wanted to see my pokemon from Safari Zone... Wait, didn't you read the whole article fully? I thought they listed my collection of pokemon," he was attempting to retaliate when he remembered something better.
"Go, Kelv!" he tossed the pokeball. "We're baking dough with fire! Ember that Zubat!"
After the pokeball flashed with typical bright lights, the reptilian coal pokemon stood on all four with his head up high. His pride was erupting fiercely as he blew smoke out of his nose.
"TOOOR! KOOAL!" the brazen tortoise shouted a warcry, and thought in his head. Of course I am going to use fire attack! I am a fire type!
"Torkoal is my second fire type," he smiled nervously around this mean-looking young man.
Then, the pokemon quickly turned his head toward the Zubat above the redhead and prepared to shoot volley of small fires.
