Sailing over the horizon at a leisurely speed, the Royal Unova was steady on course for its route to the region of Johto. It wasn't a fairly packed trip, the odd business person could be seen relaxing on the deck while the odd one or two families were moving together happily and taking in the beautiful sights of the sea around them. It appeared that a majority of Unovans had never heard of this land called Johto or were thought it had nothing to offer that their expansive region did better. On a top deck looking out to the horizon and back at Unova, was a sophisticatedly dressed male in his late twenties. His stylish attire cut a high class look for him where his other features didn't. Calmly smoking one of his Unovan cigarettes, the man seemed deep in thought. Even the excited cries of a number of juvenile boys screaming about the man's eye patch didn't distract him from his view.
Stubbing his cigarette butt onto the rail, he let out an exasperated breath of fumes and leaned over; his arms folded. The voyage from Johto to Unova was a long one and it appeared they were starting to travel between cooler climates; something Tobias abhorred. Placing a hand over his plain black eye patch, he grimaced at a faint chill which seem to affect him greatly. "What contemptible weather." Trying to shrug off the chilling breeze, he remained affixed looking at the lands he had departed from. This choice of journeying to Johto had meant he had sacrificed something dear to him back in Unova. At least here, he would have a clean slate. A clean slate to dirty once more. Letting out a pained grasp, he lifted up his eye patch and grasped his single frozen eye in a futile attempt to warm it. Tobias was beginning to suffer from a grievous headache.

A little earlier...
"AHH-AHH-AAAHHH! I'M LATE! I'M LATE!"
Charging at full speed across Liberty Pier that resided in Castelia City along the southern coast of Unova dashed a long haired blondette. Her wide emerald green eyes locked on nervously at the sight of the large ship, known as the Royal Unova, as it was preparing itself for the long journey ahead and practically ready to pull off... Without her! If she didn't get on this ferry, her dream of becoming a great Pokemon nurse would be slapped on hold for atleast another 24 hours whilst waiting for the ship to circle back to Unova and judging from the desperation in both her frantic movements and facial expression, she didn't plan on waiting that long. Forcibly pushing herself past the large crowds of people which were in awe at all the small market stands which had formed along the tourist filled docks, their goods were something Catherine wasn't quite interested in at that particular moment. "PARDON ME! EXCUSE ME! COMING THROUGH! EEEKKKK!"
Tripping herself over both feet and crates of goods, the young girl had luckily made it towards the ticket attendant who awaited for her at the docking steps. Stopping right in front of him whilst panting heavily, the frilly dress wearing girl delved her hand into the bag which was tied around her waist, eventually bringing out a long ticket and handing it over, "One heading to Johto!... I hope I'm not too late!" Flashing him a pearly white smile despite being so out of breath, he began to check over all the details as she began to sway childishly on the spot, holding both hands behind her back as she moved her torso too and fro, "This is going to be. So. Much. FUN!~" As the sound of tearing paper rippled through her ears, Catherine paused on the spot, her grin only growing even larger as half of her ticket was handed back to her and the pathway to the ship was opened. Shaking about excitedly, the way he invited her to step aboard felt like she was some sort of movie star! Well, she wasn't going to complain, it had taken her so long to arrive in the city that it was a miracle she was able to board so some form of welcoming was always nice.
Prancing on board the ship, the blonde girl remained in the doorway for a few moments, amazed by all of the sights around her. For a fairly small ship, it such was luxurious, the crimson red carpets matching the material patches on the furniture and also contrasting quite well against the dark mahogany wood. Even the sweet scent what floated through the air just screamed out posh... Wait, sweet scent?! Tossing her messy locks of hair to one side, the excited soon to be adventurer sensed a few delectable treats flowing her way. Following where her nose would take her, Catherine found her ribboned ankles carrying her to the next room beyond the glass doors and into what seemed to be the cafeteria, the odd lone person or trainer sitting quietly with a drink and some sort of confectionery to accompany them, it seemed like great minds thought alike. Practically skipping towards the counter with her nurses cap staying firmly in place between her nest like hair, the wide eyed girl stared in wonder at all the pretty looking cakes, sweets and other pastries what sat safely behind covers of glass.
Eventually a just as smiley assistant approached her, Catherine not taking too long in making her order, "One cup of tea and a slither of that sponge cake please~" With the odd subtle bounce as the attendant fulfilled the amateur nurses request, the sudden sound of a loud horn and smooth glide forward allowed a tiny squeal to exit her lips, the boat was beginning to move and she was safely aboard! In a mere few hours she would be taking her first steps in the region of Johto and starting her very own adventure! "That'll be £800, thank you for choosing to dine with Royal Unova~" were the words which jolted the day dreaming Catherine back to reality, her fingers wiggling around manically in her bag as she dragged out her purse, handed a few notes over and put it away again, "Thank you so MUCH! It looks delicious!" Staring down at the petite cup of tea and slice of cake, even the dining wear was to the most highest of standards, both the cup and saucers being adorned with a golden rim and tiny rose patterns. Picking them up whilst trying to be as delicate as possible, Catherine turned her frilly layered dress with a gentle swirl before making her way to a table.
Placing both items on the table, Catherine untied her bag from her waist before sitting down and placing it neatly on her lap, leaning forward to take a sip of her lightly herbal flavoured tea before sighing in satisfaction. ""Aahh! It really is delicious!" Whilst waiting for it to cool down that little bit more, Catherine glanced down to the bag which sat in her lap, lifting up the flap and taking out a long wooden box before popping open the lid in wonder. The main reason why she was late in the first place was due to her bumping into a rather suspicious merchant, he for some reason giving her a whopping six Pokemon practically for free! Pulling out one of the several, she pressed the button in the center to make it grow in double the size before examining it happily. It was a strange feeling but she could really sense that something was lingering inside. Taking another sip of her tea and nibble of her melt-in-the-mouth cake, she began to turn the ball around in her fingertips"Pokemon, hm?... Heehee~ So magical! " Turning it a little more, something else caught her eye, what seemed to be an etching along the bottom of the Pokeball making her turn it upside down and read it out loud to herself, "C-C..Co-balt. Cobalt? OH-OOOOOH! Is that the name of the thing inside?!"
Wanting to see what this 'Cobalt' creature was so desperately, Catherine suddenly shoveled the cake down her throat and glugged down her tea before storing everything but Cobalt back in the confines of her bag and attaching it around her waist. Jumping to her feet, the blondette rushed to a more quiet area of the cafeteria, double doors leading out onto the outer deck being a mere few steps away. Biting her lip whilst smiling cheerfully, the girl tossed forward the lone Pokeball, her very first Pokemon about to appear before her as soon as the light dimmed down. As it did so, a rather energetic Totodile emerged, jumping up and down whilst snapping it's jaw about, his cry almost sounding like some duck with a sore throat. "TOTO-TOTO-TOTOOOOOODILE!"Clapping her hands over and over again at the sight of the Totodile skipping about happily, "Cobalt! Cobalt! Is that your name?! Lets play loads of fun games okay?! Aaahhh, you are such a cutie!" Looking up to see a face other than his previous owner Tanya as well as a place he wasn't quite used to, the mischievous little crocodile was more than willing to take Catherine up on her 'playing' offer. Jumping up and down several more times, Cobalt held his arms out to either side of him, snapping his jaw wildly before rushing out between the doors that led to the deck. "WAIT UP COBALT~" Catherine cheered out, picking up the pace herself and following him outside.
Upon reaching outside, the sight of the playful Totodile wasn't the first thing to capture her attention. A group of young boys being the only people outside along with a single well suited man beside the rails. "COOOOOOOOOOB-..alt? W-WAAAAIT!" Quacking excitedly at the gentle sea breeze which swirled around him, all the sights what surrounded him was starting to get a little too much. Snapping his jaws about manically, Cobalt seemed attracted to the single male's white suit, the blue crocodile dashing with all his speed before parting his jaws and CHOMP! Missing any skin by mere millimeters, Cobalt's jaws sunk deeply into the mans trouser leg, Catherine left utterly speechless as she approached him with great haste, moving about awkwardly as she tried to work out what to do, "Cobalt, Cobalt! Let go! Ooh my goodness, Sir, I am SO sorry!"

At the sound of some fabric ripping and a weight gripping onto his leg, the cigarette in Tobias' mouth fell to the ground as he looked down with his single good eye to view a rather naughty reptile making a meal of his expensive trousers. "GET OFF!" His voice was loud yet stern and belied his anger quite well. With a swift boot up of his leg he somehow managed to get the animal free from his trousers and ripping off another chunk, leaving him with what appeared to be a shorts like length on one side and a full length the other. Angrily muttering under his breath he raised his voice just enough for the last of what he was saying to be audible. "...I bet you were attracted to my crocodile skin shoes..." Staring it down, Tobias was about to deal out a strict punishment but stopped as he saw a young girl approach, possibly coming to collect the troublesome pest. With all the name calling and apologising she was doing it certainly appeared that way.
Turning to face the other way, he looked back out to the port side of the ship and did his best to ignore them but his angers were flaring. Had it been his leg he may have melted his accursed frozen eye. "Next time actually have some control over your quarry. I've seen five year olds with better authority over their Pokemon." Muttering something else under his breath, he frowned as the sight was now muddled with the onset of stormy looking clouds cluttering the horizon. Turning around on the spot he felt a pang in his head as a cool breeze went by his now bare leg. Clutching onto his left side of his forehead, he let out a pained gasp and told her off yet again. "It's a good thing I have a spare... This is bespoke clothing however."
Leering menacingly, his words were delivered rather coolly despite the angry content they were loaded with. Shoving past her, he began slowly walking away, minding his own pace. There was something odd about this girl though, obviously they were both from Unova having all passengers board from that way but her accent was... Local almost. Paying it little more than a second's heed, he proceeded on his way to his quarters in order to change and more importantly, avoid the abhorred chills. If this weather got any colder, Tobias could foresee him losing it completely. Not a good idea when he was on the run and trying to lay as low as possible for the time being.
OOC: I know he doesn't say much but that's it. I've always wanted to do a character who does little speaking. Joe does another gobbing anyway. Will find a suitable colour code for him at some point too.

As the sound of ripping echoed through the open air, Catherine froze her frantic movements to cover her shocked mouth, the corners of her lips curling up into a childish smile as she looked down to see how silly this man now looked. Ooh well, atleast her Pokemon had lots of energy! Kneeling down to Totodile's height, the blonde haired girl looked around the suited man's leg just to double check that he hadn't actually been bitten, that would've made the situation far worse. Still wearing a small smile and trying to force herself not to giggle out with laughter at the sight of a rather happy Cobalt munching away on the white material, she lifted up the Pokemon into her arms to try and avoid anymore trouble. "C'mon here, you cheeky little croccy." Not even trying to remove the trouser section from Cobalt's grasp, Catherine stood to her feet only to hear the man wince in pain, though before she could question anything she received a stern telling off... Not that she took it to heart.
Letting out a small burst of laughter, she embraced Cobalt a little bit tighter, "Heehee~ Five year olds cant control Pokemon, that is just silly! And little Cobalt is just getting used to his baby teeth like any youngster, biting is a way of exploration... I'm just very sorry that it happened to be your leg." Even though she was still wearing her cheeky smile, she meant the apology from the bottom of her heart. If Cobalt had actually happened to take a chunk from his leg then he would've needed attention immediately and thankfully he had safely escaped any medical attention, her bandaging skills not being one of the best. Perking up as he mentioned having a second pair, Catherine jumped on the spot, her many layers of frills flowing elegantly, "So, that's all good then! I promise Cobalt wont destroy your next pair, I think he is happy now." Sure enough, the Totodile was still munching away happily.
Grinning down at her smiley crocodile, Catherine felt the tall man roughly push past her, her large green eyes glancing over to the back of him. Pondering as he began to walk away, the odd few words he spoke almost reminded her of home, almost as if he was a fellow Lacunosaian plus he didn't seem all that angry with her, really, maybe she could actually find some sort of friend in him, human company was just as welcome as Pokemon afterall. Was he going on a journey? Perhaps it was more of a work errand with the way he was dressed? The eyepatch across his face was also interesting, as if he could be a man of great stories. Wanting to learn a bit more about this mysterious man, Catherine began to work after him with haste in her steps, reaching behind her back and into her bag and pulling out a Pokeball, "Return for now Cobalt~ I'll call you out once we arrive at New Bark." Quacking happily, Cobalt returned to his Pokeball, leaving Catherine time to chase after the man who had slipped down a corridor holding the passenger's resting quarters.
Picking up the pace to try and catch up with him, her eyes fell on the sight of his crisp white jacket half way down the corridor. Turning, she began to jog after him, cupping her hands around her mouth to try and gain his attention, "HEEEYYY YOOHOO! I'm really sorry about my Pokemon, I've literally only just started!... Err, there has to be some way I can make it up to you! I'll buy you a drink or something!" Eventually catching up with him, she went on ahead that few steps more, stopping right in the middle of the corridor and acting as some sort of blockade. From her cheerful expression and overall behaviour, it seemed she was fairly adamant on his company and would probably be the type to wait outside of his door until he reemerged, even if he were to brush her off.

Frowning angrily that the girl had decided to follow him, he softened his expression before turning to face her bluntly with no emotion whatsoever on his visage. "Keep it to yourself." Grabbing the key card slot from his jacket, he swiped open his door lock and stepped in, not even giving her a goodbye or look to acknowledge that he was going. Instead, all that was left was a slam of the door in her face. Letting out an exasperated sigh, he hobbled over to his neatly made bed. It was almost as if the male hadn't even bothered to have slept in it. In fact, the entirety of the room was as if nobody had even set foot in it. He lived orderly and tidily. Ripping off the trousers which had been so boldly torn apart, he moved into the room's closet and took out an identical pair. It was almost as if this suave customer had predicted such an event happening. "It's a good thing I don't have any Pokemon on me... Silly child."
Moving into his jacket, he took out a black pistol and checked it was still in order. Satisfied, he pulled a somewhat approving look over his face before hiding it away. "I need to find a PC to use." His mind was mulling over busting into some careless idiot's Pokemon Box system. Some ex-champion or gym leader would do quite nicely with their already trained Pokemon. If he could obtain some Pokemon of power he'd already be half way to setting his plan into motion. Then he'd just have to find where to sign up for Team Rocket. After that... Domination. Straightening his bow tie, he fixed the rest of his formal wear and decided to check on the dining quarters of the cruiser. Moving over to the door, he opened it up only to see the beaming face of the young girl who had introduced herself as Catherine. Looking up and blinking at her twice with his one good eye, he merely closed the door in her face and grumbled. "I am going to need a crowbar to remove that nuisance. Bother."
Proceeding over to the chair stationed in the corner of his room, he sat down, crossed his legs and grabbed a cigarette packet from his inner jacket pocket. Slipping one out and lighting it up with a match that he coolly scratched against the arm rest, he lit the smoke and puffed at it with infuriation. "Only a matter of time before she goes." Slowly taking it a dreg at a time, he must have got through at least half of his packet before believing to have given it enough time. "I don't even want to eat anymore..." Rolling his eye, he got up, flicked the butt end into the bin and opened the door once more. He did it slowly and cautiously peeped his head around the small adjacent gap to see on the off chance if she was still there. If she was, it would have to be one bridge he'd have to cross. Surely no one girl was this persistent...?

Blinking her large emerald green eyes in surprise as the suited man pushed passed her, opened the door to his room and then slammed it just as quickly right in her face, the young Catherine was surprised that a fully grown man would act in such a manner. Puffing her cheeks, she turned to look at the door, she wasn't going anywhere until he came back out. For a moment, the blonde girl merely stood there, or atleast she tried to. Beginning to fidget, she moved from spot to spot, her tiny red shoes skipping forward a few spaces along the corridor, hands readjusting the many frills which made up her dress. Moving another few spaces, she tightened the ribbons in her hair, moved once again and counted over her Pokeballs. Repeating over and over, she was clearly growing bored very fast but her persistence of wanting to introduce herself to this man properly was shining through. Not that there was even anything special about him besides the odd familiarity in his voice, there could be someone else somewhere else that could be so much more polite and welcoming but there was just something about him...
Hearing the door click open, Catherine was quick to react and skipped right over to it again, her face lit up cheerfully as she began to sway on the spot. Lifting her hand, she made a small waving motion before proceeding to speak to him, "HURRAY! You're finally coming out! My name is Catherine by the way, how about yo---?" Freezing mid sentence with her mouth still wide open, she was plunged deeper into surprise as he slammed the door on her, yet again! Flinging her arms down by her sides, Catherine let out a defeated sigh and began to gently kick the floor with the tip of her shoe, "If I wanna be a good nurse I need to get along with EVERYONE!... I wish this man wasn't such a meanie pie." Refraining from knocking on his door, Catherine instead pondered on what she had just seen. Oddly she hadn't noticed outside but he definitely was wearing an eye patch! Did that mean he was a pirate? Well, it would explain why he was being so mean and distant but the idea was fun all the same. That or maybe he was just accident prone and he was hiding away because he was scared of her and her Pokemon. Well, that wouldn't do at all, she had to show him that she was the nicest girl in the entire world!
Thus, she waited a bit more, wandering to the otherside of the corridor and pushing herself up onto the rail which ran along the wall. Her bright eyes looking through the circular windows and out onto the sea, but her expression drooped a little. Because of the thick walls between them, she didn't quite mind but Catherine had a huge hatred for water. She hadn't had an experience like drowning or anything of the sort, she just hated it, perhaps because it was so closely similar to ice. Shaking her head, she pulled herself back down, replacing her frown with a gentle smile and turning slowly, only to see the man poking his head out from behind the door once more. For a moment, she merely looked back to him before tilting her head to one side and keeping a rather neutral face, "You're heading to Newbark in Johto aswell, right? Do you have Pokemon too? Ooh, ohh, some guy gave me a whooooole bunch of Pokemon for FREE! Would you like to see?! "

Scrunching his face up moodily, the eye patched male was getting all too exasperated with this girl's persistence. She was getting him heated enough to melt the infliction he was suffering from. Or so he thought. Rubbing his temples as he left the door open this time he sighed. As he lowered his hands, he took a small glance of his watch and had a small wave of relief flood over him. They were almost due to arrive. Perhaps entertaining her for just a few minutes would get her to shut up and leave. "Enough. You can quit your inane chit chat." Stepping forward and forcing her to move aside, he locked up his door and turned to face her again. As he stood there, it was clear he had changed his ruined trousers to a new pristine pair. Furrowing his brow, he seemed to be struggling with her name. "So Katherine, Katey... Whatever. Yes. I am on a journey to New Bark." Moving down the corridor, he had a vain hope she'd forget to walk with him but it turned out to be in futile. "I have some business enquiries to make."
Still moving along the lengthy cruiser's corridor, he seemed to be making his way along to the bar. With a weary punch forward of his arm to move the doors out of the way, he stood still for a few seconds as if scanning the area. If there was any word to describe Tobias was that he was intense. His single eyed stare almost seemed to turn the entire room to ice with how coldly he viewed it. Spotting himself a single clean table, he moved over and sat down. Clicking his fingers at the waitress to bring him over a cocktail. "House special." Shifting his eye to his side, he sighed as he noticed the girl was still with him. "Do I look like the type of person who enjoys company?" Resting back in his seat neatly, he didn't even thank the waitress as she handed him the cocktail. As his eye glanced at it, he stood up angrily and thrust the cocktail back to her. "NO ICE! DO I LOOK LIKE I NEED A COOL DRINK?! Warm it through." Angrily staring her off, he sat back down, mumbling.
"If you're looking for someone to chat to for the duration of this journey, then fine. We only have a matter of minutes before we dock regardless." Bridging his fingers together, he kept his one good eye on her as he spoke coldly. "I warn you now though. Do not think accompanying me is a good idea. Your sort and I... We are destined for different paths in life." Shutting up quietly and thus freezing over their conversation, it remained stilted for what seemed like hours but was in reality a few short moments. Not very forthcoming, this was surely going to be like getting blood from a stone for Catherine, especially when she didn't even know his name. As if growing weary of the silence, he made a bit of small talk. And even then, it was for his own benefit. "I see you have that leather reptile under wraps. Speaking of which. Describe this man who gave you these Pokemon for free." He may not have come across as interested in the first place but his mind was like a sponge. He took down and noted everything and with something as suspicious as this, he couldn't help but inquire. Was this some sort of criminal plot?

Even though Tobias was looking a little hot under the collar and probably almost ready to throw the annoying girl out of the window and into the sea, Catherine herself couldnt help but keep up her grin as he began to rub his forehead wearily. Her grin only becoming wider and energetic sways becoming more obvious as she had won this round, the man stepping back out into the corridor and slamming the door behind him. "Ahh! You really did have a change of trousers!" She noted, looking at him up and down until focusing on his eye patch for a moment, her grin falling slightly at the mixture of what could have perhaps happened to him in the past and the words his spoke. Looking at him almost with an unimpressed glance, she was soon to change her tune and began laughing at he walked down the corridor, "I dont say silly things, you silly~ OOH! And KATEY! No one has ever called me that before! Call me Katey then, okay?!"
Clapping her hands and repeating her new nickname over and over again happily with a playful skip in her step, the powerful swing of Tobias opening the doors to the bar made the few hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. Looking up at the tall male, the few people inside of the bar must've been incredibly confused. Whilst Tobias stood and glared around with the look of hatred and power, the rather sweet and innocent face of Catherine appeared by his side, looking left and right just as much as he did. Deep down, she wasnt really a fan of all this big-person drinking, bars, smoking. But at the same time he had finally spoken to her, she couldnt run back to the safety of the kiddy cafeteria.
Pondering by the door way as he moved in a took his seat, it took a while for the blonde girl but she eventually moved in after him, hopefully being seen with a well dressed pirate would mean any mean people might stay away. Standing at the opposite end of the table, Catherine perked her head up a little as he spoke out to her, though again it wasnt anything too welcoming. Forcing out a laugh, she took a seat, her feet swaying too and fro as she couldnt quite reach the ground, "Eveeeeryone likes company! Especially me! I wanna be a nurse and help so many people but first I need to get to know loads of people! When I grow up more and become a great nurse, I wanna be able to help both good and bad, it doesnt matter to me, I just want to help everyone!"
Her attempt at perking up failed as her face drooped upon watching Tobias fling his drink back at the waitress. In two minds, she remained silent. The lady was only bringing what he asked for but she should've asked the customer first! Or atleast, she thought? Being a little too nice, or confused, Catherine looked up to the waitress and lifted her hand, "I want a cocktail too!" Obviously being far too young for such a drink, the waitress took note of a different king of cocktail and walked off, leaving the two opposites face to face. Even for Catherine, this sort of silence was quite awkward, deep down she wanted to spring to life but there was something about him what made her want to hold back.
Sitting with her back straight, she stared directly back to Tobias with wide eyes at his words only to return him a small smile once he had finished, "...Of course, I wouldnt expect you to be a nurse aswell! Heehee! You are so serious it is kinda funny!" Still swaying her legs around, Catherine couldnt quite find the words to break the silence or more like she was focusing so hard on trying to work out this man, she had even forgotten he was sitting right before her. It wasnt until the waitress returned with Tobias' drink and a tall glass of finely diced fruits and a fork for Catherine that she seemed to snap back into reality.
To her surprise, he was even asking her a question! A legitimate question! Not letting this opportunity pass her by to break this awful silence, Catherine turned and rummaged around in her bag for a while, eventually picking out a thin wooden box. "Ooh! Ooh! I'll certainly let you see!" Placing it in the middle of the table, the young girl began her story, looking a lot more cheerful and like her usual self. "It was back in Castelia City, I was on the way to the docks when some merchant stopped me and asked to look at his wares. He was wearing all black though and had a huge raggy scarf around his head and chest. I didnt get a good look of his face, the sun was far too blinding. He had a funny accent too, as if he wasnt from Unova... But anyway, I looked around and I found this!"
Shaking a hand towards the box to divert Tobias' gaze from her, she took a bit of a slice of pineapple and gulped it down before continuing. "I picked out this! He said that only the purest of hearts could open it though, so I gave it a go and he said I could keep whatever was inside and it really opened!" Leaning forward again, the gullible Catherine unhooked a rather plain lock and opened the lid to reveal a row of Pokeballs. "I have only met Cobalt yet but I still think it is pretty lucky!" Lifting up a Pokeball to examine it more, she had only just realised there were etchings of a red R straight in the center of the ball and upon seeing it, held it closer to Tobias in an attempt to help him see if better, "See that R? I wonder if that is an initial of the original trainer or something? Ooh well! Im going to take care of them and love them forever~"

Sitting back in his seat, Tobias had a small little smirk on his face. Others may have mistaken it for a genuine smile but it was fully intended as a smirk in his own personal opinion. Hearing her tale of opening a Pokeball with the purest of heart and being given them by a dodgy sounding type of individual made him realise that they were all fenced goods. "Very nice... Er... Katey." Stumbling to recall or use many of the names she had given him, he went with the shortest one possible and feigned enough interest to keep the conversation going still. All the while sipping at his exotic drink which had been suitably warmed up. It really wasn't like a true cocktail and instead a weird unheard of hot drink. Either way, the way he sipped it made it appear to be some sort of wondrous nectar. "So, you've only tried out just that... Nuisance of a pest. I wonder what other creatures you have received..." Sidestepping the annoying little nipper that was Cobalt, Tobias was keen to see what else had been stuffed with this girl. Whatever reason why this criminal sort had decided to hand these Pokemon to her was unbeknownst and it perplexed him as to why.
Finishing his drink, he barely even flinched as he saw the big red capital R on the Pokeball. Scrutinising it intensely with his single eye, he fell silent, as if frozen by the sight of it. Had it been any other normal Unovan, it would have meant little to them. The sort of reaction Catherine made was a likely situation but to Tobias, this was as if he had seen a sign reflecting his future ambitions. After all, it was this gleaming red R that he was going to become irreversibly part of as he climbed the rungs of the ladder in Johto. "It's... Unusual." He murmured, obviously not all that bothered to tell the young girl about what it truly stood for. The last thing he wanted was some lecture about criminal gangs. "Be sure to keep these wondrous gifts safe." Tapping the side of his glass absent mindedly, he yet again fell silent. He was really disdained by how hyper active this young girl appeared. Unsure if he could bear her company much more, he cleared his throat and played an act of concern. "Yes, I do believe I overheard something about an accident on the main deck... If what you say is true, you may very well wish to aid this unfortunate tourist with your medical knowledge." Sitting back, he smiled. "Do not concern yourself with I... I will unwind here." Eyeing her, he sat back and ushered her exit.
Now with the youngster out of his hair, he felt a surge of relief at seeing they had reached their docking port of New Bark Town. Getting up from his chair, he looked at the activities of the waitress before slipping out himself through the doorway without paying. Considering he had to shout at her so angrily to change his drink that should have been given as a token apology. Striding out with his hands tucked into his trouser pockets haphazardly, he moved along back to his room as he collected what few belongings he had travelling along with him. Hurriedly making his way out of the Royal Unova, he clambered down a long wooden port that seemed to stretch on for miles before actually connecting up with the town known as New Bark itself. Taking his first few steps on Johto soil, Tobias looked around at the land before him. It was definitely a more rustic atmosphere than what he was used to having come from such a sprawling region as Unova. Taking his time to examine every building, structure and landmark around, he eventually assessed the area.
"Definitely a back water town in the middle of nowhere..." Sighing with a touch of disdain, he began walking forward at a leisurely stroll; watching carefully at the region's inhabitants going about their daily lives. He was hoping to get out of here as fast as possible but something soon shot a few bullet holes into his best laid plans. Looking up to the sky, he growled at the sight of heavy rain clouds. Putting his suitcase over his head, he began charging for cover. It didn't matter where so long as he was safe from the falling icy dagger rain drops. Eventually meeting a fork, he was unamused to see a large number of town folk idly standing around. Despite his advancing movements, they showed no signs of dispersing. Feeling the debilitating freeze covering over his mind, he opened his mouth and yelled. "GET OUT OF THE WAY YOU IMBECILIC BUMPKINS!" Ramming full force, he knocked a load of them out of the way as he moved past. Watching as a man fell to the floor, he sneered and moved on with an urgent job.
It was only when he overheard some other residents that his mood took an all time low. Not only was the rain making his first entrance to the town miserable, the newest arrival was going to finish him. "Oh arr thar Pat, blizzard's comin' in soon ebah gum." "Swell, just what we need eh?" Freezing on the spot, Tobias was overtaken by absolute lunacy as his icy wound throbbed beyond his pain threshold. "Grargh... I am going to murder the next person to overstep their mark...!" Clutching onto his wound, he looked up and noticed a universal sanctuary. A spinning neon Pokeball logo filled him with some lame hope. "A Pokemon Centre... It will have to do." Gushing forward, he made a final hurdle towards the doors just as the howling swoosh of the blizzard began to kick in. Skidding to a halt having made it into the hospice, he felt himself lean lazily against the side wall of the entrance, before slipping his way down onto his rear while holding onto his damp suitcase. "If I knew any better it was that devilish fiend causing all this..."
Slowly piecing himself back together, he stood up and ordered a hot cup of coffee. Upon receiving it, he made it over to the centre's famed PC network. Sitting down before one of the many machines, he lit up a cigarette despite the poster's objection. Letting it droop out of his mouth, he felt his body relax as it absorbed the much needed nicotine he had been missing. "Now... If i'm going to even make a name for myself i'll have to establish some Pokemon for myself. Just as it was in Unova, the people here seem just as into using Pokemon as their guards." Having bypassed the main P.C. network himself, he began reconfiguring the computer to his own needs. For someone as gifted with computers as himself, the task was as easy as getting clothed in the morning. It wasn't long before he obtained a list of poorly guarded storage boxes across the region. Dowsing through, one in particular caught his eye. The protocol security seemed amateur at best. Running his hand over his chin, he had a small twitch of a smile as he began a bypass to procure as many Pokemon as possible.
As he did, the transfer of the Pokemon strung along at a very slow pace. He had no idea what he was taking for himself, nor how long he would be able to keep this running with his techno wizardry. After coming to six or so Pokemon, he noticed that someone was now interfering with his code. Snarling a lip, he began typing away furiously so that he could put a stop to their defences. It was an incredible sight, his fingers were moving like bolts of lightning as they rained down across the keyboard. He became significantly faster but the anger on his face was winning out. It seemed while he had been successful in procuring some Pokemon, that the entire nest was off limits for now. Bitterly realising he had a lot more to claim for himself, he quickly wrote a line of code which would shut down his proxy and hang up his end of the phone so to speak. Pausing a little as he watched his unknown opponent try to reverse the process, he maliciously hit the enter key, severing any chances of such a thing happening.
Stretching back in his chair, he looked into his new custom made PC network as the first box had been populated fairly well. Beginning to pick off some Pokemon to take with him on his way to try and find some leads in joining Team Rocket, he remained ignorant of the world around him.

Catherine's eyes sprang to life as Tobias mentioned something about someone needing help back out on the main deck. Having the whole nurturing, healing, protective nature she had after losing pretty much everything close to her, she wasn't going to let another person leave the ship without her aid, even if it's just a plaster for a scratch! Standing abruptly to her feet and slamming her hands down excitedly on the table, a gleaming glow seemed to lighten up her face. "Ahh! Is that true?! Maybe you should come along and see my super medical hands work! Heehee, then you'll think better of me~" Swaying from side to side on the spot as she pocketed away her Pokeballs and finished off her little fruit salad type of drink, the blonde girl was ready to take off. Giving the older man one final look, she shot him a cheerful grin, "We will DEFINITELY meet again! Then we can talk again!" Bowing politely, Catherine made an energetic prance towards the bar doors, almost tripping up and causing her to laugh towards him nervously before really living his sight.
With Catherine now out of Tobias' way, the little blonde began charging across the outer rim of the ship, rushing her way to the very front. Only, as she reached it no one seemed hurt in the slightest. In fact, everyone was looking over the railings at the ever approaching Johot region. Suddenly showered with excitement, Catherine too pushed her way forward to see the dock to Newbark, thoughts of Tobias and any injuries leaving her mind completely. Instead, she finally noticed why everyone around her was muttering in such an upset manner. Dark clouds were forming overhead, sitting right over the new town. Judging from the sudden change in atmosphere, her little body wouldnt be able to stand the cold breezes and rain for long, she'd have to stay in the near by Pokemon Center. "Oooh, phooey. Out of everything in the world, I never liked the cold."
Shivering at the thought of snow, Catherine's next idea was to rush back inside as quickly as possible. Gathering her belongings back in her room on board the ship, Catherine made one last minute phone call back home to tell Odette that she was perfectly fine and about to arrive. Then, within moments, she heard the ship dock. Making sure she had everything, the young girl held her bag tightly as she merged in with the crowd exiting the ship. Every slow step a single raindrop fell upon her nest of hair. For one who loved the world and everything in it so much, even she couldnt quite find anything good to say about this change of weather. Well, atleast she was warm inbetween all of these people. The rain slowly began to grown heavier, winds howling through her ears and making her flinch but soon enough, her feet was back on solid ground.
Letting out a sigh of relief, she looked a bit silly now standing in the pouring rain. Becoming completely sodden, the girl charged through New Bark streets, slowly approaching the Pokemon Center were many of the passengers seemed to also be taking shelter. So of course, when she entered the automatic doors, it was safe to say that it was packed! Shivering, she was forced to move deeper into the center of the huge building due to people pushing behind her. Glancing around with her large green eyes, a sight suddenly fell upon her. It was the same man from before! It had to have been, the eye patch and his smoking without much care. That and he was on a computer. Maybe he was sorting out his Pokemon?! Completely intrigued, it was no Catherine's turn to do the pushing. Approaching Tobias' side within seconds, the wet blonde girl looked like a complete mess compared to earlier when he saw her. "H-H-HIIAAACCCHHHHOOOOOOOOO!" As his smoke entering her nostrils, the young girl couldnt help but sneeze, directly at Tobias nonetheless. Looking up at him a bit fazed, she could tell some sort of telling off was in store for her.
OOC: Sorry if this is terrible, cant get into her happy-go-lucky character but just wanna get it moving so Tobias can start properly.

Engrossed completely with his hacking protocols, Tobias could've been sitting a few feet away from flowing lava or unaware of a sudden flood from the sea to notice what was going on with the outside world around. The way his hands frenetically typed on the keyboard with a dizzying speed was enough to shock even the most athletic of keyboard warriors. On and on he typed as the realisation had set in that whoever was trying to secure the network he was infiltrating into had reversed his expert line of coding. Angrily gritting his teeth, Tobias couldn't nearly type fast enough but was skilled enough to not make any mistakes. Looking to the screen and noticing how many boxes he had stolen from, he was beginning to think enough was enough. To find this Team Rocket group he would need but a small army to prove himself. Then he could step on the ladder and slowly eliminate and plunder any other Pokemon he found on the way. His ambitions were ruthless as they were grandeur. Knowing that it was only a matter of time before Unovan officials would close the net on him, he decided it wasn't time to take any unnecessary measures at this stage in his new career. He had roughly ten Pokemon stolen and that would have to suffice. Now typing lines of code that would ensure his security was unbreakable and there would be no definite trace of his identity, Tobias hit enter once more and let out a sigh of breath air. He had no idea who was on the other side of that computer network but whoever it was had officially became his rival. Perhaps not in combat but more in the computing side of things. There'd be future opportunities to be had and that was all he cared for. Letting out a sigh and nearing the end of his cigarette. He had closed his eye and leaned back in his chair just as the sudden noise from Catherine startled him to oblivion and back. Standing upright in absolute horror, he turned around and leered at the sudden source of the noise with the look of a fearsome dragon. To his disbelief, it was that incessant girl from earlier. Without so much as a care for the peaceful environment around him, he erupted. "YOU! JUST WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?! HUH?!" Now breathing heavily, a vein appeared on his forehead. Although he didn't want to admit it, he had believed the sudden noise to be an international police agent coming to arrest him back to Unova. Wrathfully staring at her, he proceeded to let out a snarl like sigh before moving away from the P.C.'s computer lounge and out to the foyer. Knowing that she would full well be following him, he turned around and stopped. "You are just as troublesome as that Totodile of yours." Shaking his head, he pulled out a number of Pokeballs that had been procured from his recent hacking exploit. "Hm." Sending them out one by one, Tobias was keen to see exactly what sort of creatures he had been able to get his hands on. A Garchomp, Tyranitar, Metagross, Hydreigon, Electivire, Rhyperior or something equally as powerful. Instead what greeted him seemed like a cruel joke. "It seems I raided the wrong idiot." Surrounding him now was a large group of completely unevolved Pokemon, worse still, a lot of them were very basic species of Pokemon. He may not have been a Johto native but Tobias was quick to pick up that the critters before him like Bidoof and Rattata were almost viewed as common vermin. The only real Pokemon that intrigued him out of the bunch was Asmodeus the Drowzee who seemed to quiver with excitement as it stared back at him, obviously using its psychic powers to asses Tobias' unrelenting ambition and ability to do misdeeds. "This shall have to do." Summoning them all back, he tucked away the Pokeballs and focused on Catherine. Remaining completely silent, he stared at her until a sudden change in the weather outside grabbed his attention unexpectedly. The weather was clear. Not one to smile, he merely turned to Catherine and shot her a warning look before extending it verbally. "I am departing now. If I so much as find you following me that will be dire consequences." Turning is back on her, he proceeded out of the sliding doors and made his way out of New Bark Town. It was still a bit cold but it had at least stopped being fatally harmful to him. Wasting no time in locating the exit, Tobias headed into Route 29 and began his way to find more sources of information about Team Rocket.

Wiping her nose with the back of her hand slowly, the young girl was still able to smile cheerfully as Tobias erupted into a fit of angry words. Keeping her eyes shut and smile stretched, she tilted her head to one side a pointed her cheek with the tip of her finger, "W-Well! I just saw some guy going TAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAP!" Straightening her back, she held both her hands out before her and tried her best to mimic Tobias' insane typing skills by typing on an imaginary keyboard, she wasnt too far off in her head. "And the closer I got it turned out to be you!-- Er, er, errr..." Trailing off as if trying to remember his name, she suddenly threw her hands up in the air as if Arceus itself had whispered it into her ear, "CHUUUUCK!" Of course, the name Chuck hadn't popped up in any conversation at all, infact she hadn't even asked him for a name. But it sounded alright and even if he were to deny it, it wouldnt make any difference to Catherine.
Finally opening her eyes, she was a little surprised to see everything but Tobias in front of her. Looking around on the spot frantically, his smart suit was quick to draw her attention and make her giggle with excitement. Running towards him with her arms held by her sides, she finally realised what he was about to do. Shading her eyes with her arm as the male tossed out his entire team, Catherine found herself gasping in awe as she looked at his choices. "Awww! Amazing! Chuck, you have so so many!"Circling around the group, a sudden Pokemon caused her to pull an incredibly sour face. A Drowzee. Even for Catherine those Pokemon were darn creepy! Oddly holding down her skirt, she eyed the Pokemon with utter fear before approaching the other few of his team members. In fact, one particular thing popped out at her. "AHHH! CHUCK! YOU HAVE A SHINY ZIGZAGOON!" Grinning down at the little flurry racoon, she was about to lean forward and pet it before everyone was abruptly returned.
Blinking, she straightened her legs and looked up only to see him oddly staring back at her. Merely smiling childishly back at him, she managed a "Whats wrong?" before he explained his plan. Unsure about letting him go after finally making what she would consider to be a "friend", she wasnt quite sure what to do. The weather was clear now and running after him to try and make him stop would only make him angry. But, there was no harm in it? His verbal beatings were somewhat entertaining, he clearly warned her, buuuuuuuuut... Popping a smile as she realised he had gone, any sort of warning Tobias had left her had gone in one ear and out of the other. "CHUCK!" She suddenly yelled, skipping her way out of the automatic doors and back out into the town. Following the signs which led her to Route 29, she took a moment to catch her breath before running off again. Remaining on the path, she felt the chilling breeze around her before looking up. The once overcast skies were now completely crystal clear so why was it still do cold? Looking back down, she managed to catch a glimpse of a pristine white suit and in a matter of seconds, she would've caught up. Catherine really was a bad rash that just wouldnt go away, even her words make no sense besides that fact that she was desperate for human company, so much so that she was prepared to make silly fibs. "CHUUUUCK! THERE IS GOING TO BE A BLIZZARD! YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL!"

OOC for Mod: We're just looking for a quick double battle for Catherine to show off her skills. I know mods are in short supply so you are free to be as blunt/short as you like. Cheers!

<< Are those our targets, captain?>> Slipping through the branches of the evergreen bushes provided the lithe silver creature ample cover as it observed the two humans just beyond the branches. Its tail wagged as another four legged Pokemon stepped up behind it, its purple fur ragged from hiding in a tiny ditch it had dug for itself. <<Affirmative Poochyena, our targets are acquired.>> its voice was more authoritative than the Poochyena's, and the Poochyena cocked its head to the side quickly, giving the Rattata beside it a sideways stare. <<By the way, why aren't I ever the captain? I look cooler than you!>> Poochyena barked quietly, resisting the urge to yelp loudly when the Rattata slammed its paw on its head. <<Oww!>> Poochyena whined, shaking its head. <<That's why.>> Rattata responded, rushing from the underbrush. Poochyena followed after, and both skidded in front of Tobias, looking as menacing as they possibly could. They noted Catherine behind him, and Poochyena pulled up a mighty puppy snarl to try and scare her. _________________________________________________ Warning! Wild Rattata (Level 6) and Wild Poochyena (Level 5) are blocking the path and trying to scare you!

Making it fairly well into the length of Route 29, Tobias had no choice but to stop in his tracks as the incessant crying of the young girl that had been bothering him all day had turned up YET again. Frozen to the spot, his hands were now clenching into fists and he was violently shaking on the spot. Hearing her near ever closer, the finely dressed gentleman turned and looked at her with a scolding look in his eye. "Dammit girl. Do you not understand that I wish to be left in peace. Your company during the voyage was obliged but it has ended here!" Almost tempted to draw a line in the dirty pathway he was standing on with the tip of his stiletto tipped shoes, he refrained but was going to bring it up all the same in his speech. "We go our own paths now! You are to follow the high road and myself the low. If we bump into one another it shall not be because of your unbelievable stalking but due to the heavens deciding it prudent." His face full of annoyance, Tobias was soon to take another blow to his already thin patience. The nattering of some wild beasts off in the shrubbery made him raise an eyebrow and instantly refocus his attention amongst the vegetation. It appeared that he was a man of distinct paranoia even for something as common as rustling of bushes. "I have no time for this." About to turn his back on the entire situation and go about his priorities, the leap of the Rattata and Poochyena made it impossible for him to walk off lest he risk getting a bit on the back of his calf. "You will regret stepping out to challenge me." Taking a Pokeball from the inside of his jacket pocket, he slipped it out and with some practised motion it appeared, threw it forward and revealed one of his recently hacked Pokemon. "You there. I don't care if you're still confused about the change of ownership. Fend off these savages or i'll release you back into the wild." His threat was unambiguous and cold, just as Tobias normally interacted with others. "Waste no time and Tackle that verminous rat." The Pokemon he had selected, was none other than Duster who had originally hailed from this route. The fact Tobias had treated him so indifferently despite his unique colouring and desire to release him back in such a horrific area was enough to send shivers down the raccoons back and force it to comply. Flicking his eye over to Catherine, Tobias moodily ordered her about next. "You there, little girl. Don't just lolly-gag about... Assist me in ridding these simpletons." OOC: Ack, I just noticed I don't have Tobias' stuff in my sig... I hate how I have literally no characters left. For now, here's an easy link to his profile until I can sort out some more space: Profile.

Skipping down the path after her unique, eye patched friend, Catherine couldnt help but grin with absolute glee at the sight of him stopping in his tracks to turn and meet her. Surely he was going to invite her to follow him all the way to Cherrygrove? Thats what friends would do anyway, travel together and be all super happy and strong. Unfortunately, this didn't seem the case. He actually looked really anger this time as he turned around but being the free spirit that she was, a small yet happy smile still stretched her cheeks as he spoke. "So you DID enjoy my company on the ship? We should be friends and travel and look out for one another and have a really fun time being trainers!" As he began to explain the different routes the two of them were going to take, Catherine stood with a finger pressed into her cheek and a confused look plastered on her face, "High road... Low road... Isnt there only one path to Cherrygrove? We could just do it together and not be lonely then!"
Perking up even more at the sound of wild Pokemon, her eyes danced around energetically until the Rattata and Poochyena sprang out of the bushes, completely cutting off the path ahead! This situation was incredibly exciting, even for such a little girl. Clutching her hands into a fist, she bounced by Tobias' side and began to frantically point at the Poochyena, "Ooh! Ooh! Chuck, that is a Poochyena! I heard they are swarming here from Oak's talk show on the radio! Heehee, silly Professor Oak, he is from Kanto, not Johto!" Closing her eyes happily as he subtly requested for her help, it didnt take long for Catherine to select a Pokeball of her own, tossing it forward with an over dramatic spin, "THEN! I CHOOSE COBALT!" Bouncing on the spot in time with her happy Totodile, she cut off any attempts of the naughty croc going for Tobias' trousers and ordered a move, "Use Water Gun!--" not quite allowing her to finish, the Totodile stared at the male with a huge grin, preparing his attack before Catherine stepped in, manually turned him around and pointed to the wild Pokemon, "--on Poochyena!"
