Enduring a harsh winter and increasing his efforts in the spring, Tobias had accomplished a sizeable amount during his stay within the confines of Azalea. While the town itself may not have been the largest compared to the majority of settlements that he know of in Unova, the town was situated within a vast forest and because of that, meant it had numerous resources to be exploited in the name of Team Rocket. Having heckled the local wildlife to expand his Pokemon's strength, held ransom the local fire kiln and succeeded in stamping Team Rocket's hold over them while not to mention scoping out the other business interest in the form of Kurt; Tobias had little else left to do. His main objective was none other than the report he had been given of a Rocket operation developing within the fabled Slowpoke Well. However, unlike other fools that might rush into such a situation, he took his time. Realising that in order to succeed in chopping off lucrative Slowpoke Tails that he would need the ability to cut, it meant he had to take a couple of measures to ensure he was up to scratch. The first of which had already been obtained, the HM itself. Forcing it from the kiln family was a relatively simple task but much to his chagrin, the relative gym badge was required in order for it to be properly utilised. Having spent a good session trying to rip its data from the disk, Tobias had given up; a shock in itself given his skill with computers. Nevertheless, the alternative was not so difficult. All he had to do was smite yet another of Johto's laughable gym leaders. Having done his research on Bugsy, Tobias was certain he was ready to squish a few pestering bugs. After all, he had done such an act for the majority of his life. Although, the people he deemed as flies and bugs weren't literally a bug. Having made his preparations, Tobias travelled to the outside of Azalea gym and stared up at the building, directly in front of the door. Present as ever, Prometheus did the same and nattered to himself quietly. " I have no interest in following through this gym challenge. It is nothing more than a sideshow for mere children to follow along as they journey through their teenage years. Instead, their gym badges will be fallen trophies of their loss." Contorting his face, it annoyed him to no end that gym challenges were all the rage as they were in Unova. Stepping forward as the sliding doors acknowledged his presence, they slid open, allowing him passage inside. " If this is to further our goals then so be it." He mumbled to himself spitefully. Amazingly, he was taken aback as he entered into the gym. Looking around with his only eye, it was clear that this gym had a very... Natural feel to it. A far cry from some of the high tech gyms that Unova boasted. Even Falkner's gym back in Violet seemed like a masterpiece of modernity. Stepping forward, it appeared to be unusually quiet. Surely these gyms had followings that were tutored under the guidance of their leader? Shrugging it off, he moved to the centre of the gym's battlefield, directly into the circle of the Pokeball marked on the flooring. Staring around again, he took in the full sight of the gym building. Clearing his throat, he called out in the hopes this could be sped up completely. He had some cutting business to attend to after all. " Gym leader, I have come to acquire your badge like that fop headed fool, Falkner before you. Show yourself." Leering his eye, he pondered on whether or not the intelligence he had gained on Bugsy was going to be true or not. A Metapod, Kakuna and Scyther were all this androgynous leader commanded.

Stepping inside of Azalea Gym was almost like venturing into a large greenhouse. Just like the thick woodland which protected the tiny town, the interior of the Gym was littered with trees and other vegetation. A large, empty space in the center of the building seemed to act as the stadium floor where battlers and the Gym Leader would test their skills for the Hive Badge. Cries, chirps and beating wings from different types of bug pokemon who lived safetly within the walls were the only thing that could be heard. Even the sweet scent of honey which was smothered on the trunk of trees circulated through the air. It was only when Tobias' voice called out that the chirps of bug type Pokemon were silenced and a more human presence was felt. Lifting his net, Bugsy skipped out from the trees and waved a hand to his challenger, signaling that he was indeed available as he began making his way towards his own placed on the opposite side of the stadium floor.
The boy was indeed odd, possessing feminine features which was enough to question his gender. That and this boy was even younger than Falkner! "Welcome challenger! I am the Gym Leader here. People know me as Bugsy, the bug extraordinaire! I've put my heart and soul into researching bug types and even gone as far as to discover my very own move." Carefully choosing a Pokeball from the three which sat on his belt, he was more than ready to begin the battle. Tobias looked like a strict business man and his words were a bit frightening to the young boy. However, in his time of being Gym Leader he had battled many a type and he wasn't going to hold back this time either. "Let us begin right away. I will be using you, Metapod!" Bugsy cheered out with a beaming grin across his face, looking mighty pleased at his first choice of Pokemon being the emerald cased cocoon known as Metapod.
Gym Leader Bugsy has accepted your challenge! Bugsy starts things off by sending forth Metapod (Level 19) to battle! Please select a Pokemon.

Hearing the sound of disturbance around him with the numerous trees somehow planted inside the structure, he quickly darted his gaze all over until the source became all too clear. Seconds later, the gender confusing gym leader pranced out with a skip. Feeling his face contort slightly, it was enough to make Tobias unleash his full arsenal to hurry this up. As Bugsy introduced himself, Tobias folded his arms and listened with a less than enthusiastic expression about him. "Yes, I have also done my research and worked out that many revere you as the utmost authority of Bug Pokemon." Sneering, he unfolded his arms to his sides as he dismissed his knowledge. "I, myself, may not know as much about Bug Pokemon as you; how they live in such vast colonies in perfect harmony, how their hive mind like intellect works nor the miraculous transformation of their metamorphosis..." Trailing off, he pulled a nonchalant face as he overturned his hands into a shrug. "But I know exceedingly efficient ways to make short work of them." Watching as the young gym leader sent forward the cocooned Bug known as a Metapod, it did little to send terror crawling through Tobias' skin.
"Hmph. You must consider me a jest to bother using such immobile creatures. No matter, I will show you the wondrous power of finesse and movement." Shaking his head, he shifted his left shoulder forward. Still sitting with patience on his shoulder, the very motion of being tilted forward was enough to send Prometheus through into action. Launching off the top of Tobias' shoulder with an acrobatic flip, the Pansear sped through the air before landing on the challenger's side of the battle with an energetic poise. Showing off with a pose, Prometheus eventually relented into his typical battle position. Grinning unsettlingly at the emerald green cocoon, Prometheus was all too certain of its combustible weaknesses. Paying no heed to the fact they were inside such a natural designed gym nor that there were likely rules on this, Tobias took a cigarette out of his own from the inside of his jacket. Placing it slightly left off centre in his mouth, he took out his expensive looking silver lighter and clinked it open, causing a flame to ignite his smoke. Puffing in its fumes, Tobias was finally ready to get the battle started. At least with the tobacco running through his lungs, he could concentrate fully. Lifting a hand forward as he gestured at the Metapod, he stated his command. "Prometheus. Flame Burst and burn this grub asunder."
Cackling evilly at the thought, Prometheus hopped about from side to side as if there was a burning hot potato passing between his palms before igniting a big ball of fire that simmered dangerously. It was only when the monkey thrust his arms forward that the burst of flame streamed forward towards the target.

A hand tightening onto the handle of his bug net which stood tall beside him, the young bug leader took in the appearance of this new challenger. Azalea had been quiet lately with not all that many travellers stopping by. But at the same time it was a good thing, multiple incidences involving Slowpoke Well had been occurring recently, so the less suspecting people treading onto their towns soil, the better. Unknowing of Tobias' criminal roots, let alone his current alliance with Team Rocket, Bugsy allowed his childish view on the business suited male take over his cautious side, believing him to merely be a business man on an adventure. His monotone voice and blunt use of words did fill the purple haired boy with intrigue as he spoke his knowledge on Bug type Pokemon. "Haha! You seem to know a lot of bug types yourself! Although I'm still young, I have dedicated my entire life to date to researching them."
Holding the bug net over his shoulder and tilting his head back, the boy did look prideful in this fact. However, the next words of Tobias brought a frown to his youthful face. "Hmm?! Short work?! I'll have you know, you shouldn't underestimate the power of bugs." Spare hand clenching into a fist, his eyes darted up to the glass, dome like ceiling of his Gym, voice growing louder and he tried to get his point across. "Many people view Bug types as weaklings but with their natural poison and sheer speed in evolution, I disagree. Bugs are incredible!" Understanding that this competitor was likely looking down on his choice of Pokemon, Bugsy kept his bubbling rage bottled inside. For now, he merely had to prove Tobias wrong. "Metapod use Harden! If we bulk up our defences then his attacks will mean nothing." His tactics falling on deaf ears, Prometheus was far too quick and possibly more intelligent than the lifeless cocoon before him.
The female Metapod staring with her blank expression, it was all too aware of the terror somersaulting toward her. With a flip off the shoulder of his master and quick limbs carrying him to the proximity of his opponent, the fiery ape conjured up a ball of fire, tossing it from side to side in his palms before tossing it forward. The flaming orb colliding with the body of the Metapod, it was quick to explode into a further flurry of burst, striking the emerald cocoon over and over again. The burning sensation rippling across it's fragile body, the once green Pokemon quickly turned a shade which was as dark as charcoal. Burnt to a crisp and sapped of energy, it merely flopped to one side, down and out. "N-No! Metapod!" Bugsy gasped. It wasn't unusual for his two cocoons to be knocked about like a door stop but the state of his friend was unacceptable. Still, he had a duty of Gym Leader to uphold and personal feelings later. "Tsk. Very well. Metapod, return for now!" Withdrawing his scorched partner with a flash of light, Bugsy just as quickly tossed a back up forward and surprise surprise, it was another cocoon. Boasting a yellow shell this time around, the purple haired leader tried to retain a slither of confidence, "You have an option to switch Pokemon, challenger. Otherwise, let us continue."

Pulling a disgusted face at how chummy Bugsy was trying to come over as, Tobias forgot just how cheerful a disposition some people could possess. It was enough to make the antisocial criminal hurl. Inhaling a lengthy dreg of his cigarette, he let the smokes calm his repugnance. Thankfully, Tobias' words of dismissal appeared to be enough to rile up the young bug fanatic. Watching as his face angered up, Tobias fed off the discordance and etched a smile of his own. "Bugs are like any other Pokemon, mere tools for our use. There are bad tools. There are good tools. But they all share a common thread." Inhaling some more smoke, he deliberated on his thoughts before making a temporary conclusion given the battle was starting to heart up; literally. "It just so happens that the Bug type family have a greater ratio of duds to goods." Flicking his eyes onto Prometheus, he watched as the fire simian powered up his flaming burst. Shooting it forward with a vengeance, the fire exploded into a splatter of other flames as it doused the general vicinity that the Metapod was stationed in.
Engulfing the cocooned Pokemon in a fiery cremation, Tobias looked up and cracked a snide joke. "Your defences are meaningless regardless in the presence of fire." Leering his eyes, he poked another jab at the Bug type as a whole. "If your blessed insects are so wonderful then perhaps they might learn to evolve and gain heat resistant hides." Finishing the end of his cigarette, he throw it to the floor by his feet and stamped it out with the tip of his left shoe. "Until then, you're resigned to such a fate." Watching as Bugsy issued him a choice of swapping out, he waited until he took in view of his next Pokemon. The name Kakuna meant little to him being from Unova but he was astonished to be up against yet another cocooned creature. "This surely is a joke? I came in here expecting a gym challenge. All I am experienced is a gym pushover." Aware that Prometheus could likely spoil this pest just as easy as its related Bug brethren before it, Tobias shook his head and recalled Prometheus back to his side.
"Return. We shall let others carry the burden. I hear Bug types usually have a secondary weakness..." Tossing a Pokeball out that he had kept in his inner jacket pocket, he watched as the light dimmed revealing a whimsical looking Drowzee that fluttered its fingers in a playful like manner as it took in the sight of the Kakuna. As the ball returned to the palm of his hand, he pocketed it into his trousers and stated his next Pokemon. "Asmodeus shall make short work once more of your defences." Snickering to itself, the Drowzee was already subtly extending its psychic influence to the insect. It may have been immobile and seemingly genderless but that didn't stop Asmodeus. Trying to plant all sorts of sordid and lewd suggestions into its mind, the Pokemon jumped out of its skin as it heard its name being called sternly. "Asmodeus." Turning to look at Tobias, the male continued. "No. You are here to battle. When I require your... Talents, I will ask of them." Shifting his cold drilling gaze back to Bugsy and his Kakuna, he finally conveyed an order. "Asmodeus! Confusion! Lay waste to what brains this pest has." Letting out a loud cackle, Asmodeus stomped a leg forward before it took back all of its psychic restraints. When it had been trying to mess with the Kakuna's mind before, it was toying mostly. But now, it was off its leash completely.

As Tobias huffed and puffed away on his cigarette, mulling over how vile and cheerful Bugsy was, the young Gym Leader was finally realising that this man was one of the more nasty challengers he receives. Such people were a rare occurance, not including the presence of those horrid Team Rocket members who sprout up in his town, so even the purple haired boy wanted this over quickly. Still, despite the slither of aggravation which was seeping into his words, the boy had to remain calm. Men like this didn't deserve Pokemon, let alone to travel, collect badges and be a possible champion. Handing a badge to such a foul human was going to be painful but that's only if the ace up his sleeve were to fall. For now, he had to play the dumb and youthful leader, much to his dislike. "Bugs, or Pokemon for that matter, are not tools. They are our friends, to grow alongside us in this big world. To think of them as mere tools... Such nonsense ideals belong in the minds of fools."
A smile quickly beaming across his face, Bugsy remembered his own Pokemon. "Look at me! Me and my Pokemon are great friends and I'm a Gym Leader. I've won countless Bug Catching Contests and succeeded in my education from a incredibly early age. All because my Pokemon were there beside me every step of the way. Love goes a long way." Still smiling, the poor boy had to bite his tongue as Tobias continued ripping into his strategy. Similar to how Falkner detested electric types, Bugsy hated how Fire and Flying were common opponents in his battles. The ape on the eye patched man's shoulder possessed flames which were powerful beyond belief and Bugsy knew deep down, that Kakuna wouldn't be able to handle it. "The Pokemon League has acknowledged me for my experience in Pokemon knowledge and battling! I still have Kakuna and one other Pokemon left, so don't get too cocky." However, luck or not, Prometheus was recalled. But what was sent to replace him was the worst possible opponent. Asmodeus.
The perverted monster being up against an immobile Kakuna and a young boy, anything could have been conjured up with his psychic powers but thankfully, Tobias was stern. Actually sensing the creepy scale of the plump Drowzee from where he stood, Bugsy was clearly a bit nervous in the presence of such a weird Pokemon. Kakuna remaining on the spot, her dark eyes glued onto the Drowzee... There was nothing more she wanted than to run away right about then. "Kakuna, stand firm!" Trying to fill his Pokemon with some confidence, it was unfortunately to no avail. Asmodeus had already stomped forward, hands wriggling in the air and psychic power building up. Focusing on the immobile bug with all his might and carnal desire, it didn't take long to make the Kakuna's mind melt to jelly. Body randomly crashing forward, it was clear that whatever Asmodeus had done, it had worked in Tobias' favour. Taking a step back and look of shock spread across his face, poor Bugsy couldn't really do much about this.
"Kakuna... Return." A flash of red saving what was left of his Pokemon, Bugsy pulled out his last Pokeball before looking over at Tobias. "So far you have faced my Metapod and Kakuna but now, I present the challenge for you to overcome." A firm flick forward of his wrist and Bugsy released his final Pokemon. Humanoid in shape but bearing wings and scythe like arms, his final opponent had the appearance of a brute.

As if fuelling himself further over the growing disdain that Bugsy was showing in his face, Tobias inhaled a particularly satisfying smoke of his cigarette. Letting the fumes wisp around in his mouth, he held his breath as long as possible before he let the circulation fumes pour out of his nostrils. "Fools?" Flashing a conceited smirk, Tobias made light of Bugsy's ardent beliefs. "If that you say is true and that such a concept can only exist in the minds of fools... I must be the greatest fool of them all." Letting the cigarette droop at the side of his mouth, he continued on at a leisurely space with his Unovan droll. "But by such an extension, if I am the greatest fool of them all that makes me the greatest trainer in our reality. Seeing as my ideology has prevailed over every challenge." Starting to show signs of a brash arrogance about his talents, it was perhaps not misplaced considering how easily he was tearing into the supposedly solid defences of Bugsy's cocoons. However, despite Tobias' rudeness, he would feel a wave of nausea come over him as Bugsy instead rather child like brushed off Tobias' cold and unforgiving reality.
Deciding to give the boy something of a reality check, Tobias snorted. "Hmph, you believe that the help of your friends got you where you are today? Ridiculous. You got where you are today through your own ability alone. Does a farmer treat his plough any higher than that of a mere tool? Does a farmer take his beloved companion home and treat it with friendship and care? Preposterous." Given his words, it was clear just the type of view he held of his Pokemon. To him, they were truly nothing more than equipment for his profession. Sadly, Bugsy was all too much of an optimist. "You have two left, I have a full house. Realise the futility. Even if your remaining Pokemon is a threat I will simply neutralise it with sheer overwhelming numbers." Smiling with a wry look over his expression, Tobias wasn't afraid to use numbers to work to his advantage. Wave tactics were symptomatic of a cold hearted trainer such as Tobias. As he oversaw the battle, it wouldn't be long after the psychic assault Asmodeus gifted to the Bug type that Tobias had to make a small correction. "My apologies, that is actually one left against my full house." Shaking his head and inhaling what little left he had of his cigarette, he dropped it to the floor and stomped on it with the same shoe he had done so earlier.
As the sadness set in Bugsy's face, Tobias had Prometheus ready him up another smoke for him to savour over the battle. Beginning to take a few puffs, he conjectured about what would be next. "So let us see. You have thus used a Metapod, a Kakuna... Would the third time be the charm with another cocoon?" It was something of a hollow question. Having done his research into the gym via his time hibernating away in his abode through the season of winter, Tobias had accessed a great deal of discussion surrounding Bugsy's team. Knowledge was power and the people of various message boards who had vanquished Bugsy's threat were all too happy to relay what the criminal wanted. Cocking his head back as the fumes from his cigarette rose above, Tobias braced himself for the revelation of what the monstrous Scyther would look like. He had of course checked them out through the wonders of the internet but he had heard particularly troublesome stories about the look and size of Bugsy's own. As the praying mantis appeared through the light, Tobias scrutinised his gaze as he took in its appearance. "Hmph. All this talk of excelling and recognition... It was all because you had such a brutal looking tool at your disposal."
Clearing his throat, he recalled Asmodeus back with a flick of his wrist holding onto the Drowzee's Pokeball. Shuffling it away into his coat pocket, he had a particularly unenthused look about him. Many would likely be displaying that of fear or perhaps awe but Tobias, this was simply a wall for him to scale over. "Unfortunately, I too have a brutal tool available to me. And if we are to test our tools in the use of their application, I have the utmost faith in my own over yours." Taking the Pokeball out as he had finished, he raised his arm and sent a beam of light forward into the challenger's side of the battlefield. "Flak. It is time." Appearing out of the burst of light, the muscled and hulked out looking freak of a fighter waved around his spiked girder and chuckled to himself domineeringly as he saw what he was up against. "Finally, ya get me somethin' I can squish." Gripping harder into the spikes without so much a flinch of pain, Flak yelled out to the Scyther. "You is one ugly lookin' *****. I won't feel so bad bludgeonin' ya with the ugly stick as you ain't gonna get any worse." Glad to see their Pokemon were engaging, Tobias looked back over to Bugsy. "I will pry from you what you hold dear. That childish and naive view of yours is in need of some growing up. Welcome to adulthood." Raising an outstretched hand at Flak, Tobias confidently ordered his move. "Flak! Rock Throw! Crush the insect!" Lowering his arm, he was hoping this tactic would work.

Vs. Gym Leader Bugsy- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Bugsy refused to allow Tobias' harsh, cold words to take a bite out of his upbeat nature, though it didn't mean he was brushing off what was being said entirely. "A farmer keeps his tools in shape by investing time and care into their well-being so that they do the best with the work they are made for. Pokémon are the same way, and they respond to such nurturing by performing better, possessing more confidence knowing they have a caring Trainer behind them," the young leader replied, smiling brightly.
"If I gave up in the face of a dire situation, would I be standing here battling you as the leader?" Bugsy fired back at Tobias' insistence that there was no chance of victory. Scyther dragged one of her bladed arms across the other, leering at Tobias as she waited for something to destroy. Many a challenge had been foiled by her release into the fray, strategies left shredded by her blazing speed and sharp scythes. Who was to say that this day would be any different? "Scyther may be my ace but she is not a brutal tool and she is not the sole reason I was able to become a leader," Bugsy said in a defensive tone, frowning. "But as you refuse to see anything beyond your shallow and flawed reasoning, I don't see any point in debating it with you."
His Scyther brushed off Flak's rudeness with a dark smile flashed his way. 'Says the one with the balloon head and exposed veins. It will give me great pleasure to eviscerate you right in front of your human,' the mantis hissed. "Scyther, show them your power with U-Turn!" Bugsy called out, hoping she would deal a powerful blow to the girder-wielding creature Tobias had summoned. 'As you wish.' A leering grin, and she was gone.
Flak lifted his girder, ready to swat her away as soon as her ugly face reared up. But the mantis moved too fast for the naked eye to follow, and something hard slammed into his gut before he could even blink. As she bowled him over, her momentum brought her attacking scythe arm bouncing into his helmet, the stones sending shooting bolts of pain coursing up it. A vehement growl escaped her as she circled back to her trainer, eyeing Flak as the Gurdurr picked himself up.
He gave her a slow, angry smile as he dug his girder into the ground and shoved down on it hard, flinging a good sized chunk of hard packed earth into the air. Deftly maneuvering his girder round, the Fighting type raised it and swung it hard, hitting the chunk of earth and flinging it right into Scyther's abdomen, sending her sprawling to the ground with a shriek. Served her right for thinking such an attack would keep him down for long. His expression morphed into a scowl as he witnessed the injured mantis devour a yellow berry that seemed to alleviate some of the pain.

Sneering further as Bugsy remained untouched by Tobias' repugnant and vile words, the classy dressed male wasn't going to let it slide. There was something about this abnormally cheerful boy that made something inside Tobias' stomach wrench. "Hmph you must live in a protected bubble of a world. That or this back water region is really full of self fuelling designs of love and care. Show me a farmer that doesn't ruefully throw around his equipment and i'll show you a fallacy. Day in, day out... The novelty of care soon wears dangerously thin as it passes the line into careless abrasiveness." His gaze as stern as ever, enough to turn a person to stone with his single, piercing eye it was perhaps clear that Unova's agricultural farming policies weren't exactly on par with regions where the business flourished. However, it was what the Bug enthusiast would say next that left a rather sour taste in his mouth. It was almost if Bugsy was declaring that you had to have any ounce of skill to be a gym leader. Laughing scathingly, he decided to bring up a certain fool he had come across on the way here. "Your assumption holds little water with me. On the way to this middle of nowhere, I duelled against a certain Falkner of Violet..." Leering his eyes a little with a testy stare, he continued on. "If you are implying any sort of notion that you have to possess certain qualities as a gym leader then I am sorely jested after his piddling challenge."
With the brainy child deciding to pay Tobias' callous words no heed, the criminal merely grunted as he pocketed both of his hands and shook his head. "I agree. Talk is cheap. Allow my tool's actions to show you the credibility in my theory." Shifting his attention slightly to his muscled enforcer, Tobias readied him. "Flak?" Gritting his teeth hard into a scowl and something of a grin, the veiny freak of nature was ready for this. Fighting was his LIFE. As the fighting talk between Pokemon escalated, Flak let out a belligerent grunt. "Oi yeah?! Well I ain't the one who's gonna go SPLAT all over this crummy floor. You bugs are all the same. I hit hard enough and you go squish. I'll pop the eyes right outta ya skull!" Gripping tighter into his barbed girder, Flak felt the blood pour from his palms but it did little to put him off, if anything, it made the berserker go into a frenzy. However, before the oafish muscle head could lurch into action, the Scyther was keen to show off its agile litheness. Snorting at how fast it was, Flak called out. "Hah hah hah! Hit me as fast as you want, it ain't gonna change the fact you ain't nothin' but a puny, weak BUG." Just as he finished, Bugsy's Scyther had unloaded the brunt of her attack. Winding him right in his bizarrely thin stomach, Flak let out a sharp grunt. "OOOOOFFFFFF!" Knocking backwards, it appeared the Scyther was getting ahead of herself and as she tried to sneak in an extra attack, the effects of Flak's defences put down her attempt.
Tutting away, Tobias shook his head as he observed the situation. "Now, now... I thought you were meant to be changing my mind that your Scyther was something more than a bloodthirsty beast. You're doing little to convince otherwise AND being penalised for failing to do so." A wry, sadistic smile on his lips, he watched as Flak moved into action. "You see, I have no qualms with admitting that my own Pokemon is nothing more than a dimwitted albeit violent and thoroughly effective fighting machine." Laughing boisterously, Flak replied to Tobias' own form of praise. "Hah hah hah, thanks boss." Shooting his glare from Bugsy to Flak, Tobias hurried him on. "Silence buffoon, finish this brute!" Nodding, Flak performed his attack and smacked a good chunk of the floor towards the Scyther, effectively damaging her in the process. Tobias' smile now covering a good portion of his face, it was unsettling to think the only time he smiled was when a Pokemon was in pain. "Yes... Yes... Do you see the... WHAT?!" Watching as Bugsy's Scyther pulled out the Sitrus Berry, Tobias' expression became crushed into that of a tempestuous glare. He had not expected that. Flak had not expected that. Seeing the Scyther come back from such a hefty blow was enough to hit Flak's anger point. Tobias on the other hand merely cursed under his breath for overlooking such an obvious tactic. "This region is so pathetically simple I had forgot such tactics..." In fact, the only Pokemon who had been aware it seemed was Prometheus given his gluttonous look etched onto his face.
Waving his hand forward to the side dramatically, Tobias raised his voice. "No matter! Flak, that weakling has used what little scraps its trainer had gifted it. Now, go with force and squish that bug for good! Rock Throw!" Patting the girder as it rested on the side of his shoulder, Flak clucked his tongue as he shook his head. "Should'a just rolled over and played dead. I'm gonna crush ya and then tear you limb from limb ya g'damn pest."

"Falkner is not by any means weak!" Bugsy retorted quickly, his rage with this trainer only continuing to grow. Scyther looked back at her trainer with a pure look of concern. It wasn't a wonder he was a Gym Leader. He was skilled, knew his way around a fight, and he always stood up for what he believed in, despite being young. But then he also had a kind spirit and a strong belief that no one was weak, and that they just needed room for improvement. "He's ten times wiser than any person I know. I bet he shared some things with you that were probably better you didn't forget..." Bugsy was nearly shaking with how upset he was. Scyther felt her own rage building, just by watching the display of her own trainer. She raised her scythe- shaped claws, as if signaling Bugsy to give her the order. "Scyther...Scyther, use Quick attack and show him what true power is!" Scyther raced towards Flak, slamming into him with such force that the large critter was actually thrown backwards with the sheer critical. The Rocky Helmet once again scraped her badly, but she was convinced she wouldn't be done yet. She had to keep fighting. "I can't stress enough that caring for your Pokemon is important..." Bugsy mentioned, trying to keep his cool. Flak stood up, the Brutal Pokemon flinging the spiked steel item he always held into Scyther, invisible rocks suddenly materializing from it and shooting out at her. Scyther hit the floor hard. For a minute, she tried to get up, but finally relaxed to the floor as Bugsy came to her aid. Eyeing the Gurdurr nervously, Bugsy was quick to return her to her Pokeball. Standing, Bugsy quickly threw a package at Tobias, containing everything he normally gave to winners. "....and if you can't care for your Pokemon on any level, that will be what undoes everything you're working towards..." Without another word, Bugsy stood and exited the arena, leaving Tobias to himself. Needless to say however, the boy would want him out of the gym as soon as possible. --------------------------------------------------------- Winner! You have defeated Gym Leader Bugsy! He had given you £1,800, The Gym badge, and TM89! Flak has gained 1200 EXP! Gained +1 happiness! Lateralus gained a level due to the EXP share and is now Level 24! Gained +1 happiness! (Money, Pokemon, and Items all updated.)

Unable to hide his merriment at the boy's rejection of Tobias' thoughts, he let out a cruel laugh at Bugsy's thoughts over the foppish Flying type Gym Leader. "Falkner is an absolute fool! If you believe him to be of any merit as a trainer then..." Glinting his eyes and rendering his expression perfectly dead, he dismissed what the Bug fanatic was capable of. "...Then you must be appallingly bad to have fallen prey to his winged rats." Glancing at the state of the gym and the ease of his Pokemon so far, Tobias shook his head rather disapprovingly. "I have seen as much." Letting his comments sink in, Tobias was secretly wanting to indulge in the escalating angers of the young boy. Having to be a nasty person required a certain type of someone but Tobias felt he eased naturally into such a role. Watching as his temper simmered, Tobias and both Prometheus were surprised to see the remarkable youth STILL trying to find the good within us all. It was an uncomfortable tenure having to listen as there was nothing more than Tobias wanted to grind such hopes and beliefs down into dust. "If you believe that such a lowly, moronic teenager would have ANYTHING worth lecturing me about on... You are sorely mistaken. Just as your fundamental beliefs are akin to."
His words finished, the anger from Bugsy as he gripped into his catching net was also seen reflected in the Scyther who was now murderously looking at team Tobias. "Hmph, your attack dog is looking rather uncivilised. You have done well to mask its inner beast but you simply cannot change one's nature. Embrace their feral instincts and use them like the animals they really are." Slamming his girder into the floor, Flak let go of the barbed outside and smashed both of his fists together as he pressured the Scyther to come at him. "C'mon, hit me, HIT ME! I want to feel the pain of those dumb lookin' butter knives rakin' across this bod of pure muscled perfection. Give me that anger! Ya dumb puke coloured gnat." However, despite the Gurdurr's brash overconfidence, the expelling of all of Scyther's rage into the critical force of the blow against Flak sent him flying backwards onto the ground. "Ooooof... That's more like it bug breath! I wanna feel that rage and all that anger you got flyin' around in that little peanut brain of ya's." Grabbing onto his steel barbed girder, the hulking Flak grinned boisterously. "But lemme show ya how its really done. I'm gonna splat you so hard they're gonna fail in scrapin' ya off the floor ya lil' bugger." Ramming his girder forward, Flak yelled out. "SEEEE YOU IN HELL!" Just as the attack was connecting, Tobias listened out and noticed Bugsy's choice words. Feeling a wry smile appear as their ideologies clashed on the battlefield to declare the true winner, it appeared that the boy's just wasn't enough. Caring for Pokemon seemed like such a moot point. You could treat them like the slave like tools they were and in fact harness even greater potential from them. If no one was there to care for Tobias when he was growing up then certainly no one would be caring for his own menagerie of hostilely raised Pokemon. As the boulder rammed into the Scyther and knocked it to the floor, Tobias perked up his interest as wanted to see if it was truly unconscious. Noting that he had indeed claimed victory over the gym leader, Tobias stepped forward.
Wanting nothing more than to exit the gym and get on with his master plan, the eye patched devil was delighted as Bugsy threw everything that he was meant to hand out in one convenient package. Not before another select few choice words. "Hmph... You and I live in truly different worlds." Glaring his eye as he spat out the cigarette in his mouth, he shook his head. What disgusting sort of talk. If any of his Pokemon dare try and revolt up, he would merely quash them with other more loyal members. Members that he himself had created. Sending off Prometheus to pick up the package, it was perhaps ironic to anyone but Tobias that what Bugsy was saying was all too correct. The time would come where ultimately one of his own would foil everything he was striving towards. Nevertheless, with such acts of betrayal unrealised, Tobias went unsuspecting. Receiving the package from Prometheus, Tobias merely stuffed it away as he turned to exit. Understanding the boy was likely wanting to heal his battered team, he rather sternly spoke out as he moved away with his back facing the leader. "At least be thankful they are still living. Next time we cross paths, I doubt such restraint will be shown again." Letting his Pansear take out yet another cigarette for him and lighting it up, he walked through the gym doors and mumbled. "Time for us to attend to some urgent business... Our schedule is on time."
