The recent blizzard weather in Cherrygrove had proven for an interesting albeit dangerous stay for Tobias. Having hoped to be no more than a day in the city before progressing on elsewhere, his duration had been lengthened considerably much to his chagrin. A closely guarded secret to himself and his Pokemon, the presence of cold weather let alone ice hail was enough to force his mind to fall into the depths of insanity. Constantly feeling as if he was waging war with an alien being trying to take control of his head and unable to keep a grip on his anger, Tobias had menacingly took a family hostage until the bulk of the freezing weather had settled. Although the odd instance nearly lead to that scenario ending in a terrible way, he was successful in bartering for a young girl's life in the exchange for some warm wintry clothes to combat the depraved cold outside. If that wasn't enough, his exit from the supposedly pleasant city was met with a strange cackling woman to whom he obtained an uncommon Pokemon off. The journey thus far in Route 30 had also made for an annoying encounter with a sickly green balloon like creature.
Having lost his way from the lack of a prominent pathway to follow, Tobias had unfortunately veered off course and onto the outskirts of Cherrygrove were a vast plain was situated. Having realised the error of his ways too late, he decided it was time for a short break to feed his dreadful nicotine habit. If he continued walking around in such a frenzied pace, he might even be able to melt his never melting ice scar that afflicted his eye. "This is appallingly ridiculous! This horrifically backwater region has absolutely no idea how to design their routes. This sort of setback would never happen in the lands of Unova." Ripping out a cigarette from his packet of smokes, he angrily stabbed it into his mouth and turned it to the side. Also habituating the hood with him was his Pansear, Prometheus. Kept close to his eye to try and lessen the dulling ache of his frozen scar, the monkey was also proving to be a valuable asset in lighting up cigarettes for him. "Prometheus." Waking up as if falling asleep from how comfy the insides of the hood were, the Pansear looked around dazedly before stretching out a hand and giving it a controlled flick. Skilfully, the ape was able to manipulate his incinerate attack akin to that of a lighter. With the smoke now fully lit at the end, Tobias inhaled deeply and let the warming smoke fill his insides.
"Violet MUST be somewhere close. I shall try venturing over in this direction soon." His attempts at trying to escape this area were soon to be shelved for the time being. Twisting his head off in an abrupt direction, the male was startled somewhat by the sudden outburst of howls in a not too distant location. "Hmph." He muttered. Was this going to be yet another inane distraction to waste his already limited time?

Although snow was still scattered across the entire area, the majority of the blizzard had finally passed. A gentle, winter breeze flowed through the area as a downpour of delicate snow touched the route but it was much more bearable than hail, either way. Route 30 was a long an strenuous path which led upward and curved towards Violet, so it was no surprise that Tobias quickly became lost due to the amount of white which surrounded him. After all, it was hard to tell which way was left or right, let alone know if he was heading the right way to the next city.
Rather than moving onto Violet, however, numerous howls caught the criminal's attention instead. Unlike the hidden dirt path, it was much easier to see the location of where it was coming from aswell. Off in the distance, a trio of Houndour jumped athletically from the snow coated bushes. Howls escaped their dark snouts as each of them seemed to have spotted something. Most likely some form of pray yet it didnt seem they had honed in on the typical bird or rodent. "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHH!" A human cry radiated from up ahead but Tobias didn't have to take a single step as trouble was about to approach him.
Running as fast as he could was a young school boy in his winter gear, one hand holding onto his glasses incase they were to spin into the cold whilst the other seemed to be holding onto three tiny Pokemon. Either way, they were all screaming hysterically as the trio of Houndour began ganging up behind him but the sight of the standing Tobias caused them to grind to a halt in the snow. "HELP! HELP! PLEASE HELP, MISTER!" The boy, however, continued to run, hiding behind the man and dragging him into this unnecessarily. What a selfish child... Despite the presence of this middle aged male, the three hell hounds didnt seem like they were suddenly going to back down. Snarling as they slowly began to creep forward, his stolen winter gear made him look much larger than he really was and a plump man was always much tastier than a young boy.

Glaring his eye at the sudden emergence of a young boy from out of nowhere, Tobias was quick to temper as he was not going to be pulled into some petty charade. Unable to fully stop him in the bulkiness of his winter cold protective clothing, he merely raised his tone and furiously scorned the boy. "Get away from me you stupid child. Do not think as me of some saviour." About to turn on the spot to teach him the error of his ways, the dark hellhoundish figures which he had barely seen in the snow up ahead drew within visible range. Immediately forgetting about the boy, Tobias' feelings turned to that of ambition and greed. "My, my. I've heard of your ilk. Boasting the powers of Fire and Dark... You'll be quite the bounty." Given the nature of his frozen wound, Tobias had extensively studied all known Fire types in existence in an effort to find one that could cure what ailed him. Having come across an entry on Houndour and its next of kin, Houndoom, he had never been able to test one in person due to the nativity of their habitat. Now he was in Johto it had happened all too soon. For the first time in a long while, a dreadful smile spread over Tobias' lips. It was evident he had plans. Big plans. It was an interesting spectacle to hold, at least it would be from an outsider's perspective. On one hand was the Houndour packed who were ravenously sizing up Tobias for their next meal while in turn, Tobias was staring at them with pure avarice in what fortunes they might bring. "I know. I shall keep one for my own personal benefit and sell off the remaining two." Assured of his plan, it was time to seize it. Shaking his head tiresomely at how they appeared to all fight at once, he merely stood his ground before talking out to them with a tone as cold as the snow encompassing them. "You dare face me three on three? FOOLS!" Taking out two Pokeball from within his jacket and thrusting them out of his heavy jacket sleeves, the criminal was more than ready to rise to the challenge. "You're challenging someone who mastered his way of fighting in the form of a trio." Saying little else, he tossed the two Pokeballs forward he had procured and watched as the contents spilled out. With the first appearing on the far left of the arena was the slimy tadpole known as Slick the Tympole. Blobbing up and down, the right hand man was all too happy to put a hole in these Houndour's plans. The other arrival, that was sent off to the far right was a rotundly shaped owl that hopped on one foot as it arrived with a maniacal look in its eyes. It was none other than Blathers. The insanity of the bird was well known when Joey saved him from the sweltering heatwave back in New Bark Town but Tobias was all too keen to allow him no restraints. "I'm not done yet. Prometheus!" Pulling open his jacket's hood, the third member of this skirmish was revealed. Having fallen off asleep again in the comfortableness of the hood, the sudden gust of icy cold air bought him to attention. Noting the snarling dogs before them, Prometheus merely grunted as he swung out and landed in the centre of Tobias' Pokemon, ready to fight and carry out his wishes. Having forgotten entirely about the schoolboy behind him, Tobias committed the entirety of his concentration to handling the difficult brawl. "On my order, you will act without hesitation." Sizing up all of the Houndour, Tobias plotted his strategy. "Slick! Focus a Bubble on the left mutt. Prometheus! Launch a Covet at the pack leader. Blathers! Peck at the eyes of the runt." Standing perfectly still, he waited for his Pokemon to perform his will. OOC: Tobias' profile for reference. I'm also fully aware these aren't catchable. I'm merely playing within the confines of my character. He wouldn't just pass up the opportunity to attempt to. Doesn't mean he'll succeed.

If Misery was a business, then at least two of these Houndour were living it one way or another. Havoc, who seemed to be the leader of the crew, growled at Tobias's words. Prizes? Please... that wasn't going to happen, and he knew exactly why. Though, he'd let the human keep believing, for the sake of a good battle. His Pansear was quickest to the punch though. Prometheus played it cute for a moments time, approaching Havoc, who backed up just a bit in annoyance. Suddenly, the Monkey's face contorted into a meaner look as one of his legs flailed out, kicking the Houndour in the face. Havoc had no item to steal, but the look on his face was pretty priceless. <<Might want to watch your backs....>> he growled lowly to the three Pokemon that opposed him and the other two. The daunting, low growl of words was followed by Havoc's jumping forwards into the faces of the three smaller Pokemon, his eyes glowing green and managing to instill a small amount of fear into all three of them. <<Pathetic little things. Helena, go already.>> Helena nodded and stepped up next to Havoc. Her beautiful gray coat shimmered against the light of the sun as she observed Tobias's Pokemon, finally giving a sneer. <<Easy little snacks.>> She lowered her head for a moment, but raised it a moment later, throwing it back in a thick howl to the sky. This was often the first move she used because in plain sight, it was the easiest to manipulate her way through the rest of the battle. Satisfied with her attack raise, she stepped back. <<It's your turn, Abyss.>> Abyss snickered lightly. he seemed to be the only who didn't speak, and he drew his head back before releasing a flurry of Embers that collided with Blathers's round body, singing his feathers. The next up was Slick. Slick wiggled his way in front of the group and breathed in deeply. Wiggling his tail, he exhaled and several bubbles exited his mouth, floating over to Helena. Helena growled as the bubbles popped over her body, leaving her fur slightly dampened. The last to go was Blathers. He hustled towards Abyss, hopping up in order to peck him right in the center of his muzzle, retreating as Abyss tried to slap his jaws over him. Jimmy watched, and honestly, he wasn't so sure if he should be more scared of the Houndour, or Tobias. ____________________________________________________ Hey, Hey, it's Pansear, Hoothoot, and Tympole VS. The sheer defiance in the eyes of the hounds was another to make Tobias' stomach wretch with a repulsed anger. He was always one to enjoy instilling his domination and it angered him when things didn't quite sway to his machinations. Although having said that, finally gaining domination over a resistor was all too rewarding in itself. Ripping what little defiance they had was a pleasing pastime. Thankfully, while he may not have been able to outright overwhelm him, their paltry attempts at staving him off as well as the addition of his Pokemon's eager attacks made his ambition one step closer. "Hmph. To be expected of such a vicious breed of canine. Resilient to a fault. Very well." Turning to his Pokemon, he intensified his tone into that of a scolding slave driver. "You will have to double your efforts in taking care of these cargo." Scrutinising his gaze, he made an astute assessment of the Houndour pack, all the while trying to deal with the accursed cold seeping into his hood. With Prometheus no longer supplying a reliable heat source, it was a matter of urgency to wrap this up as soon as possible.
From what he could tell, the centre one was obviously the dog handing out the orders and holding the group together. Its swaggering posture and confident demeanour made this evident. So if cutting off the head stopped the body from functioning... "Prometheus. Slick. I want you to partner your efforts and lay waste to the centre Houndour. I deem it to be the pack leader so if we can falter it then the other two will lose their good form. Attack with Covet and Bubble!" Adjusting his gaze to look at the left of the pack, he coldly glared and realised that this Houndour also had some considerable sway. "I see. Blathers, be sure to Peck at the eyes of the left Houndour. It appears to be quite capable." Last but not least was the runty looking one on the right. Without so much giving it a calculation, Tobias sneered at its worth. "Forget the runt. It's pathetically useless. We'll see to it at the end." Realising his Pokemon hadn't moved, he barked out for their orders to be seen to. "Attack, now!" Having become so utterly focused on the battle at hand, Tobias had almost forgotten about the cause of this upheaval, the youngster standing behind him. Letting out a bail of smoke, he paid no heed to whether or not it would endanger the boy's lungs. Not that he would have cared to begin with.

Youngster Jimmy was indeed still standing behind Tobias, his little rubber wellingtons sinking into the snow as he remained standing in the same spot. Wrapped up in a nice, warm coat, a fragile splutter escaped his lips as the smoke of Tobias' cigarette swirled under his nose. Even the trio of Pokemon which clung to Jimmy's arms all looked a bit bemused, clinging to their young owner and still terrified in case the Houndour were to pounce over the eye patched man and attack them. Oh well, Tobias was the only person in the area so where else could the scared little boy run? He didn't seem like the nicest of fellows, hence why the boy remained silent, but he couldnt really complain right now.
Meanwhile, as Tobias bellowed his order, his Pokemon had little choice but to comply. Fighting knee deep in snow wasn't the nicest of feelings but so far, they were winning. Nodding to one another, Prometheus went ahead of Slick to attack, whilst Blathers bolted off in a different direction. The fiery monkey had already figured out the patterns of his opponents, allowing him to go first yet again. Waltzing up to the pack leader, the Pansear held out his hands as if gesturing that resistance was futile. Havoc merely glared, knowing exactly what was about to happen. Bracing himself for the punches, the Houndour lowered his head defensively as Prometheus took two great punches forward in attempt to finish off the hound. Growling angrily as the pain sunk in, Havoc snapped his jaws in a threatening manner to send Prometheus jumping back a space.
Having a bit more breathing room, Havoc coughed up a move which was very similar to what Tobias released himself. Coughing up his lungs, a thick layer of purple smog span through the icy air, surrounding the Pansear and distracting him for a few moments as he tried his best to waft away the fumes with his hands. But being used to his trainer's habit, they didn't quite tickle the back of his throat like Havoc had hoped for. Turning his weakened glare to Helena, it seemed she too was starting to experience a bit of trouble from a persistent owl. Shooting out multiple flickers of ember at the bird, she seemed to be taking care of herself for the most part, leaving all but Abyss to worry about. Blinking at the silent hound, he knew things were about to get a bit more serious from him as an ear piercing howl erupted murderously from the snout of the final dog.
After hearing Tobias call him a runt, pathetic and useless, Abyss was hoping that his over the top howling would atleast make him think differently. It seemed to work on Jimmy anyway, the boy practically wetting himself in fear. Helena paused upon hearing the howl of her partner but it was the wrong move to make. Being blasted with fire had irritated Blathers to hell and back, now it was going to dish out some revenge. Taking a flying hop forward, he flapped his wings angrily which carried him through the air only slightly but it was more than enough. Landing on Helena's back, the avian wasn't going to let up as it pulled back it's beak. Pecking at an incredible speed, the insane Hoothoot looked as if it was taking Tobias' words seriously and really was going to try and peck the eyes out of Helena. Uncomfortable cries escaped her mouth as Helena roared in pain, her two partners glaring over in worry. Abyss was too frozen to move, leaving Havoc to merely grunt before stepping forward to help his friend.
Prometheus wasn't going to let any interfering happen. Lifting up Slick, the fiery monkey gave the tadpole a helpful throw, lunging him right towards Havoc. Frowning, the tiny Pokemon tried to take aim at the running creature whilst it flew through the air, eventually releasing a stream of bubbles which collided into the back legs of the hound, hitting a fragile spot of nerves and tripping it head first into the snow. Twitching every now and again, it took only a few moments to realise that trip meant the end to the leader, the fellow Houndour looking mortified.

Sneering triumphantly as the pack leader was sufficiently disposed of by his, or rather Prometheus' wily guile, Tobias cocked his head to one side as if to mock the remaining combined force of the pack remains. "Is that all? Is that all you really have got to show? Hmph. I suspect i'll have to slash my forecast profits on you mangy mutts..." Shrewdly itching the tip of his chin with the cigarette he was currently smoking drooping out to the left side of his lip, he scrutinised his new line of attack. The pack was assuredly falling apart as he had predicted but he of all people knew not to underestimate cornered dregs. His concentration was interrupted however by Abyss' pitiful attempt to sound intimidating. Met with nothing but a scornful look, Tobias blinked disinterestedly. "Know your place runt. I warned you before. Now you have sealed your fate." Throwing strategy to the window, he was going to make that stupid pup suffer for its misdeeds.
Turning to two of his most capable Pokemon, he decisively sent forth his directions. "Prometheus, Slick. Continue your efforts together and lay waste to the runt on the right with another combined attack of Covet and Bubble! Spare no mercy!" Chuckling to himself in a bitterly poisonous tone, he soon shifted his one functioning eye to the Houndour to the left. Having almost forgotten about her considering how close she was to succumbing to defeat, Tobias grunted. "Heh. Why haven't you lost consciousness already? No matter, I shall assist you." Looking as Blathers was hopping up and down to try and avoid the chill of the snow, it was clear that this owl seemed to have vulture like instinct. As it hopped, its eyes were menacingly affixed to the left Houndour, almost tasting its defeat. "Blathers. Peck." Crying with a shrill coo, it was exactly the order it had been waiting for. Joey had always been too restrained and far too goody two shoes for its own liking. This Tobias however, this was a man who appreciated the finer things in life. Twisting its face into an insane expression, Blathers set off to imprint a memory of horror on the Houndour.

Now that Havoc had fallen, Helena and Abyss looked to one another, unsure of how to finish this. Usually it was Havoc who was able to finish things off and drag their weak bodies to safety, it was very rare for this to happen. Howling to the seemingly voiceless Abyss, Helena wanted to finish here and just get Havoc to safety but both knew that he would much prefer it if they were to finish up things first. The group didn't want to look like a bunch of failures. Snarling even more viciously than before at Tobias and his group, the two remaining Houndour stepped forward, their flaming fangs wanting to rip into each and every one of them. Unable to hold back for much longer, the feisty female jumped forward, all fangs blazing and shot straight for the eye pecking Blathers.
Helena's small paws plunged through the snow as she approached the bird with little care for anyone else. She even completely missed the sight of Prometheus sizing up the cautious Abyss before giving him the smack down, Slick by the monkey's feet cackling away at the whimpering hound. Hoothoot, on the other hand, still hopped on the spot, his large eyes narrowing and beak chattering, eerily excited at the thought of pecking this hell hound once again. Sensing his strange lunacy, Helena ground to a halt and parted her maw, releasing a blazing array of embers which engulfed the Hoothoot with ease. Slightly distracted by the sound of Blathers' coos, Prometheus checked back to see what was going on, only to be caught in Abyss' trap. Slick sneakily jumped to one side, dodging the Smog released by Abyss but more Prometheus was shrouded in the dense, purple gas once again.
Bouncing angrily through the now dying flames, Blathers was ready to get his own back on this vicious dog. Flinching and letting out a worried whimper upon seeing her flames didnt do the trick, the already weak Helena knew she was going to be joining Havoc shortly. Lifting back his spherical body, a single heavy smack down of his face was enough to finish her off. Toppling to one side, the female Houndour fell to the ground, her eyes rolling back as she fell unconscious for a short while. Meanwhile, the sight of two of his only friends going face deep in the snow sent shivers down Abyss' spine. Not even seeing the tiny tadpole merged in with the snow, he howled angrily as a forceful blast of bubbles struck him in the eyes, amazingly finishing him off too! Now, with all three Houndour out of the picture, it was only poor Jimmy who was left to deal with.

Shivering nervously behind the winter clad male, the young boy and his Pokemon were half expecting Tobias to turn and give him a good smacking for including him in the fight. Needing one way to try and apologise for the mess, Jimmy was brave enough to step out to the side and nervously shuffle to the front of Tobias. "T-THA-AN-K Y-YYO-U!" His words came out loudly, shivering with a mixture of being cold and being utterly terrified. "I-If there's anything I can do to r-repay.. yyouu..." Not really thinking things through properly, there was actually nothing Jimmy had which would make the foul expressioned man feel like all that was worth while. Sensing his nerves, the three Pokemon within his grasp started to jump up and down in his arms. They didnt want to see their trainer in this mess and wanted to help!
Squealing at Tobias in their own tongues, Jimmy stood with his mouth slightly ajar, slowly realising that they were trying to ask if he wanted one of them. "W-Would you like to take one of my Pokemon?! T-They seem to.. l-like? yeah, y-eah, like you!" Each Pokemon had their own Soothe Bell attached to them, so it was up to Tobias which one he wanted to pick. He had to be quick though, as the now rested Havoc had managed to get to his feet and order his friends to escape!
Jimmy has offered to give you one of his Pokemon after that amazing battle! Which one would you like to keep?

OOC: Tobias made short work of them! ;D
Prometheus doesn't learn Fury Swipes. Blathers learns Uproar over Tackle. Slick learns Bubblebeam over Bubble.
Picking up the Chingling in addition.Sternly beholding the fight before him, Tobias seemed to make no flinch or grimace as his Pokemon were hit viciously with a mixture of poisonous smog and scorching fire. To many others trainers, a twang of guilt, a feeling of compassion or a slither of empathy would be prominent but it was a perfect example of this bleak regard he held for Pokemon. They were literally nothing more than tools and weaponry to be used. Nobody shed any tears for when their gun or blade was damaged or savagely used in battle. There was no reason to feel emotion for these creatures; not that he had any to spare to begin with. The pained hoots of Blathers did little to stir his pity, the suffocating smog did nothing to want to protect Prometheus. His emotionless way of training his Pokemon seemed to be rubbing off. As it came to their round to volley off a series of retaliations, none of his Pokemon seemed to show the slightest sign of restraint. Their attacks looked viciously brutal. It was only this fact in which Tobias slowly smirked with a faint flick of the side of his lip lifting. With all of the pack now laying wasted in the snow, Tobias inhaled a great long dreg of his cigarette before letting out a huge amount of smoke akin to that of a billowing chimney. Not saying anything in the way of congratulating his Pokemon nor inquiring as to whether they had been hurt, he stood there sizing up the felled Houndour. "Unruly as they were, i'm sure a harsh training regime shall force them into formidable slaves." Taking the cigarette butt from out of his mouth, he flicked it with his fingers off to the side into the sprawling snow. Before he could enact what to do next, the sudden return of the boy sent an angry shiver down his spine. He had next to forgotten the brat and here he was to bother him again. Barely paying attention to what he was saying, the incessant stammering acted as a hammer to Tobias' skull. This was only multiplied as the yammering of all his Pokemon added to the frenzy. His face twitching angrily, he leaned his head back and stared down at the youngster. Not saying a word, he stared at him ruefully for a few minutes before his mouth pursed together to form a sentence. "Beat it kid." Just as he finished his sparingly small selection of words, a devious cackle sounded as a familiar face crawled up the back of Tobias' coat. Resting on Tobias' shoulder was Prometheus who looked down at Jimmy with a similarly resentful look of his trainer. Flipping out a cigarette from the inside of the massively stuffy coat, he stuck it in his mouth to one side. Letting the monkey set it alight for him, he grunted. The grunt itself was almost like a thousand words as it spurred Prometheus into action. Letting out a bedevilling screech, the Pansear dropped from the shoulder and pushed Jimmy down into the snow without remorse. Leering at the kid as he flicked his cigarette around a little, he let out a puff of smoke. "I don't care about your thanks." Turning his attention to Prometheus, he ordered him to swipe a Pokeball from the child. "Let this be a reminder. It was I who stole your Pokemon away from you. However, let it not be said that I am unfair... I shall leave you the lowest of the low. As far as worth goes, a Chingling will arguably net me far more than a pathetic Budew or Azurill could ever hope to achieve a fraction of. They're truly worthless. I shan't be seen lugging around dead weight. Prometheus, gather the Chingling." Snickering, Prometheus scooped up the set of Pokeballs which had fallen from Jimmy's waist and recalled back the floating Chingling. Leaping back with a lithe agility, Prometheus returned to Tobias as he handed him the Pokeball before snuggling in the hood to keep his trainer's ice scar warm. About to turn to take care of the other loose ends, he was instead met with a raucous cry of insanity as well as a flopping croak to his side. Blathers and Slick had tried to warn him about the escaping Houndour. Angrily raising his voice, Tobias stormed forward until he realised they had escape his sight. "DAMN YOU CRETINS!!" Pursing his lips into a slither, he breathed heavily at this turn of events. About to turn and take his anger out on the boy, he was angered even further to see he had scampered. "CURSES!!" Taking a Pokeball out, he recalled Slick who in such a situation was hardly going to be of much assistance. Blathers on the other hand was kept out. Tobias had plans for the owl. Just before conveying his orders, a sudden thread of hope made itself known to Tobias. For once, the snow had proven to be of a positive aid than a petty hindrance. "Tracks... Of course!" Noticing they had all gone off in different directions, he tried to assess their owners. "Hmph, they look all the same. If I am to track down one, it is going to have to be a gamble..." Thinking it through, he promptly arrived at his choice. "We shall take the centre trail. Blathers, move on ahead and keep vigilance!" Now storming off in a blaze of fury, there was one thing on Tobias' mind. He sure as hell wasn't going to be outdone by a ragtag pack of Houndour. Keeping up with the flying owl in the air, it was surprising he could move so well in his oversized collection of clothing. - Tobias takes the centre path -

With Tobias now free to take whichever route he wanted, the decision of following the Houndour was probably considered to be the best. Rather than letting the trio run amok elsewhere, he could perhaps find the reason for their ill behaviour or if they had a trainer, perhaps even capture them for himself. As Blathers took to the skies, Tobias began to follow the tracks of the pack leader straight ahead, each step leading him further away from Cherrygrove and deeper into the wilderness. Eventually amongst the trees, bushes and snow, the male criminal saw a new sight weaved between the tree tops, a rather colourful tent coming into view which stood tall with bright primary colours creating the roof. Judging from the attractive advertising posters stuck to tree trunks and amount of litter which scattered across the floor, the tent appeared to be that of a portable contest hall. Between the tent flaps were the sounds of deep, human mumbles, often drowned out by the sound of loud whimpers... Noises which only drew the intrigued closer.
Before he could even take another step forward, a rather slender figure bounded out from between the bushes, halting Tobias in his tracks. "H-Hold up!" the figure spoke, standing in front of the trainer and holding his hands up as if to indicate to him not to move. "You look like a tough trainer... Think you could give me a hand?" Probably sounding a bit suspicious, the young male placed a hand on his chin, looking to Tobias before explaining the situation, "My name's Sammy... I was merely walking by to deliver my Luxury Balls to the next town but I started to hear weird noises from this tent. I even gathered the courage to have a quick look inside and some guy was beating his Pokemon! BEATING it!" He shook his head and wore a look of utter disgust before carrying on, "Unfortunately I have no Pokemon to sort this matter out myself and my cell phone has no signal so I cant ring the police... But perhaps if you were to stall him, I might be able to rush over to Cherrygrove and grab the neighbourhood cops... Whaddya say?"
Just at that moment, a furry head of a feline popped out from the flap in the tent, large eyelashed eyes blinking slowly at the sight of the two unfamiliar faces. Mewing back into the tent, the sound of thunderous footsteps began to approach them, the material door being practically ripped off to reveal a green haired boy, face red with rage. "And what the bloody hell do you two want?!" As his eyes lingered from one person to the other, the coordinator known as Rod gave an unimpressed glare to Sammy, "You again? I thought I told you to piss off!" Soon enough, Rod stood forward with his Glameow, a rather beaten looking Houndour sprawled across the floor coming into view before the door flap shut on it's own. The blank expression on Tobias' face was difficult to read, leading Rod to believe that he would have to deal with him somehow. With a sigh, he nudged forward his Glameow, "What you looking at, old man?! C'mon, I'll take you on and send you crawling back to Cherrygrove on your hands and knees! Then you'll wish you hadn't battled Rod, contest extraordinaire!"
Co-ordinator Rod sent out Glameow (Level 10) to battle! Please select a Pokemon!

As his path came across that of a garish looking tent, Tobias immediately slowed down, not quite sure if he was liking the implications. "Hmph. This had all best not be some sort of accidental break out of circus stock. Come." Moving forward while still following the tracks, he curled his lip angrily as a strange male approached him. The fact he was even daring too meant he was incredibly desperate for something or incredibly stupid and holding the biggest death wish in the history of man. As he stretched out his hands to signify him to stop, Tobias stopped dead in his tracks, his face akin to that of a tempestuous storm. "Out of the way. I have no interest in pedallers and their wares." Ready to shove past him, the continuation of what this man had to say made Tobias even more furious. "What is so bad about beating a... NO! YOU FOOL! Don't bring the police into this." Knowing that if this buffoon was stupid enough to do so, he would likely get inadvertently arrested, especially considering the crimes he had committed since landing on Johto soil. Swallowing his pride, Tobias reluctantly decided upon a ruse. If he could deal with this abusive trainer, not only would he be able to claim the Houndour for himself but also dismiss this simpleton.
Clearing his throat, he fell into a calm way of speaking as if to make his acting believable. "There is simply no need. Involving the police in such an affair when those poor workers have already so much to deal with. Fear not, I shall step in and provide a citizen's duty to teach this wrongdoer the error of his ways. Come." As they proceeded to move forward, the appearance of a gangly looking co-ordinator with bright green air prevented them from going any further. Sighing wearily at this being the cause behind the apparent beatings, Tobias was starting to lose his patience even further. Annoyingly, it seemed this hotshot had quite the gob on him. Leering with a tinted glare, Tobias lifted his head backwards as he stared him down, allowing him to finish and letting the silence ruminate between them before he chose to break it and accept the brash teenager's challenge. "Charming. I should implore you reconsider your words. For it is I who shall be sending you back to Cherrygrove... With your tongue missing." Taking a Pokeball from out of his pockets, he flung it forward to the floor and revealed a boisterously feral looking Rattata. "Fang. Quick Attack on this mongrel." The chatter of the rodent's teeth with a bloodthirsty intent was all that was needed to connect the dots as to what Tobias meant about returning with a missing tongue.

Now that Tobias had managed to start the battle, this gave Sammy the perfect opportunity to sneak back into the bushes to try and contact the police once more. Bravely ignoring Tobias' word of warning about not getting them involved, Sammy felt the need to as Pokemon cruelty was just plain wrong! Not being able to keep his single eye on both males, keeping focus on Rod for now would probably be the best idea. Fang was yapping his jaw viciously as the prim Glameow stepped elegantly forward, glaring down her snout at the purple rodent, she seemed more than unimpressed about having to battle it. Rod, on the other hand, laughed loudly at Tobias' attempt at threatening or trying to scare him off. "My tongue is staying right where it is, I assure you of that!"
Glaring with a wicked grin, the green haired male pointed dramatically forward, "Let's start the show, Glameow! Use Scratch!" Purring as if her letting him knew she understood, the curly tailed feline stepped forward, her claws shooting out from her paw pads. However, her opponent seemed that step faster than herself. In a frantic lust for blood, the battle hungry Fang shot forward with an incredible burst of speed. Practically becoming invisible, the move startled the Glameow and froze her on the spot, crying out with intense pain as the rat crashed into her chest, his sharp claws scraping against her fur on impact. Growling angrily under his breath, Rod stepped in, "Dammit Glameow, get a grip! Hurry, turn and Scratch, scratch, SCRATCH!" Wanting to actually seem better than that meddlesome Houndour for once, the Glameow longed to be viewed as the better Pokemon. With all her might, she span on a single front paw, using the other to slash right across the back legs of Fang.

Standing there in his overly protective winter clothing, Tobias must've looked very odd from behind. His fleecy hood was up but out of it was a thick cloud of smoke drifting from out of it. Enjoying his cigarette and in turn calming him from losing it completely, he was contented with Fang's performance. Even in his defence against the Glameow's protection he had managed to best its supposedly marvellous example of scratch. Taking the remains of his fag from his mouth, he flicked it off to one side and shot Rod a very testy smile. "Ah. I see you're attached to your tongue. Don't let your blinded arrogance fool you. I shall take your flapping tongue as a trophy. Some mobsters take ears, I on the other hand enjoy tongues."
His eye flinching, he realised he may have let slip a bit too much. Knowing that the idiotic Sammy was still behind him, he turned and quickly made amends. "Intimidatory tactic. Fool the enemy into think you are worse than they are. Think nothing of it." Turning back to Rod, he raised his voice just audible enough for Rod to hear as he continued speaking to Sammy. "I cannot believe you had trouble with such a amateurish buffoon." Shaking his head, he ordered Fang on the offensive once more. "I tire of this weary engagement. Fang, Quick Attack." Letting out a roaring growl, Fang hopped from side to side before glaring at the Glameow. This rat bit back.

The other man said that some mobsters took an ear, but that he took tongues instead. That meant he was a mobster right? That's what went through Rod's mind, he couldn't help but worry that the kid his opponent had come back with was connected to a mob family. Losing could make this end badly for him, and now he was starting to get a bit worried about his opponent, or rather what he could or would do to him after the Battle. Of course he wasn't thinking about his Pokemon, aside from how best to leave it to distract his opponent when he made his getaway. Because he was worried, he'd decided that it was best not to try to dig himself a deeper hole by mouthing off again. "Glameow, hit it! Use Scratch, just take the damn thing out already! No excuses, you fight until you die if I tell you to!" he ordered his Pokemon, the panic clear in his voice. Though he then heard what Tobias said about Sammy having trouble with him, "He doesn't even have Pokemon! It's not my fault!" he stated, trying to put up some defense for himself. Though Fang was already on his way for his attack at that point, not that Rod cold see him due to the high speed that the Rattata was moving at anyway. There was nothing anyone could do to stop it at this point, not that anyone who could have likely would anyway. But Fang crashed into the Glameow, knocking the cat down from the impact and causing even more damage to it. It was a good hit, but it wasn't quite enough to defeat it, as the Glameow slowly got back up for it's attack. The cat came at the rat slowly, but as fast as it could manage in it's weakened state, it moved at a fairly good pace considering it's injuries. It swung it's front paw at Fang, swiping him along his body for the Scratch. It wasn't very serious damage considering the state of it's opponent, but it hurt and any kind of damage was rather bad regardless of how serious it was. It did make Glameow feel better though, it was still in the fight, if only barely, and had caused a fairly decent amount of damage to Fang. Sammy on the other hand gave Tobias a thumbs-up. "Don't worry, I called the police about him so they'll get here to deal with him soon. But I bet he's scared, what you said sure scared me! Your Rattata is really strong, and he's not even scared of that cat. It's cool." he said quietly to the man that was helping him deal with Rod. Battle Glameow | Level 10| Health: 2/32 HP [6%]Status: Normal Nature Effect: N/A Attack: A successful Scratch. Vs. Fang | Level 13| Health: 15/34 HP [44%]Status: Normal Nature Effect: N/A Attack: A successful Quick Attack. Weather: Normal

Furrowing his brow, Tobias spoke out rather bluntly. "I believe you have that wrong. Your worthless moggy will die until I say so. Which is rapidly approaching, mind." Realising that this male was getting a bit agitated and jittery in his demeanour, it meant that his attempts at belittling him were starting to work and it meant that he'd soon have complete and utter domination in this ridiculous affair. Having to stoop so slow and pretend to be a pathetic do gooder while engaging in such a trivial battle was enough to make him blow his cover from lack of patience. Thankfully he wouldn't have to wait too much longer, round by round the feral Rattata known as Fang was surely dishing out just enough pain to see to it that the Glameow wouldn't be giving anymore defiance. Strung along by that small little nugget of factuality, Tobias soon winced as the nervously timid male that had taken safety behind him spoke out with a rather worrisome fact.
"What in the blazes did I tell you NOT to do?! You've only gone and wasted police time on such a frivolous affair. Preposterous!" Muttering as he fumed under his breath, Tobias knew that he had very little time to dawdle around. "Fang! Quick Attack! Quickly!" Sensing the urgency in his trainer's voice, Fang was dashed off once more. Although in fairness, it wasn't so much out of respect for Tobias' urgency. The fact this cat was daring to attack it made it all the more personal. Turning to Sammy Tobias shook his head. "Hmph. Tell you what. If I finish this off, do say that it was you and you only who took care of this scoundrel. I want no part in this. Just be sure to play up your heroics..." Pausing, he forced a half hearted smile. "I prefer to stay out of the limelight and keep humble about my good deeds." Almost wanting to spit out what he had said, Tobias shook his head before focusing on the battle. As soon as that cat dropped, he would make a break for it and be damned if none of his Pokemon could catch up.
