Dani's Trainer Interview! This month's guest; Sandy Katayko "This thing's on right? ...OH CRAP! Uhh, hello listeners! Sorry about that, the mic's been on the fritz for the past few hours and I wanted to make sure we were good to go before we hit the airwaves. For listeners new and old, this is Dani's Trainer Interview! Each month I interview a trainer currently progressing through Johto! How I track them down is my secret, though!
I then ask them a series of questions, some candid and some not, and you hear the answers live! It's so nice out today... and nice is all our next interviewee is! We've just spotted miss Sandy Katayko taking a stroll with her Squirtle. Let's get this party started!"
Dani: SANDY! SANDY KATAYKO! Can you stop for a moment? I'd like to interview you! Sandy: O-okay, I guess an interview can't hurt...
Dani: Wonderful! So... welcome to the interview! How are you feeling right now? Sandy: Well…I think I had something to do but I supposed that I had the time for an interview and well, that’s why I’m here.
Dani: Eh whatever, no one cares about that. What got you started on your journey? Sandy: Well, I used to help Elm out in his lab since I mostly had spare time, when this Squirtle caught my attention, I didn’t think it would be that hard to let some other trainer take her, but when someone tried…I guess I kind of just decided I really didn’t want to lose her. I’d like to say I wanted badges and wanted to see the world, but that’s not what happened.
Dani: Oh I see. *scribbles furiously on a notepad* Is there a particular type of Pokémon you prefer above all others? Sandy: Well, not really. I have a fire type or two that are always with me, but I like them all. Normal, Water, Fire, any are fine as long as I can work with them.
Dani: What about a type you absolutely despise? Sandy: Well…it isn’t not a type really, but I don’t want to get into it.
Dani: Well phooey to that! So I did some research on you and I gotta ask... What makes you so skittish? Sandy: A bad experience when I was little, I left me really scared of making my own choices, because I was always afraid it would lead to something that would hurt me or someone else. Why did you research me o.o
Dani: Nevermind that. Hmm, d'you have any long-term goals you want to accomplish? Sandy: Well, settling down is certainly a long term goal of mine. Traveling is nice and all, and I’m a long way from settling in with someone anytime soon, but it’s a nice thought sometimes.
Dani: Ooooh really? Moving on... Alright, name your favourite moment of your journey so far. Sandy: My favourite? Oh wow…I have plenty. Though I’d need to say one that sticks out to me most is winning at the Bon Festival. That was really the first time I had battled in front of so many people, and my Diglett helped me a lot in the end when it came to keeping my morale up.
Dani: I hear you're afraid of thunderstorms. (How do I know this? I have my sources..) What would you do, then, if a miniature thundercloud appeared magically over your head right now? Sandy: I really don’t want to think about that…or how you know that. I would probably shut down, because when I hear thunder or see lightning. My heart beats really fast so I guess I try to calm myself when I do that.
Dani: Oh my! Related to that last question, do you dislike Electric types because of that? Sandy: Well, not unless their attacks are directed at me. It might quicken my heart rate a bit to see the kind of power they have, but no electric Pokemon have tried to hurt me, so I’m not going to dislike them just because I don’t like the powers they use. It isn’t their fault, right?
Dani: Obligatory question time! Tell us, what are you like as a person? Sandy: Well... I can’t really say I’m that great. I don’t believe in saying good things about yourself, because if you really are that great, other people will tell you…even if you don’t think so yourself. I just hope people see me as a good person at least.
Dani: If the youth named Silver bumped into you on the street, called you a worthless piece of scum and spit on you, would you; a) throw an ice cream cone at his face; b) kick him in the shins; or c) surround him with butterflies and flowers that shoot radioactive laser beams? Sandy: I uh…don’t know what Kind of question that is but do I have to answer that…the last two sound pretty painful. I guess if I had too, and there was no chance to walk away, I’d throw the ice cream at him… Why do I sound upset? Uh, I’m not upset at all! Can we move to the next question please?
Dani: When was the last time you cried? ANSWER THIS HONESTLY OR I'LL SPORK YOU. Sandy: I’m not crying now! Um..maybe just a little, but you know, getting called scum and getting spit on sounds pretty hurtful…
Dani: Goodness me, go fetch this girl some tissues! Anyways.. if you found a wallet on the ground and no one was nearby, would you take it? Sandy: Oh no, I have enough money, why would I want someone’s wallet. If it seemed like no one was going to claim it, I’d find a lost and found or something, I’d feel guilty taking something like that.
Dani: Before you die, is there anything you'd like to do? A bucket list of sorts? Sandy: Well, there are some things I’d like to do. I’ve never really been to the top of Mount Silver, but it sounds like something I’d like to do before I die.
Dani: Your team is exhausted, the champion's room is in ruins, and the champion himself bows before you, utterly defeated, You have triumphed over the greatest trial any trainer goes through. What's the first thing you do? Sandy: Well, I’d probably heal my team, if you want the technical answer. But I couldn’t even describe the kind of pride I’d feel if that happened, and the first thing I would want to do is go home and see my mom. Traveling gets lonely, and the prize isn’t worth anything if you don’t have anyone to share any kind of joy with.
Dani: Sentimental sap. So, what's your favourite hobby? Sandy: Well, I actually really like playing the Piano. I’m no pro or anything, but I don’t think I’m that terrible either.
Dani: ENOUGH OF THE BORING STUFF. Tell us; are there any boys out there that catch your eye? Sandy: U-Uhm…well, do you m-mean names? O-or what I look for in someone? I ah… d-don’t want to tell you that because th-that’s something I really…Berry, don’t look at me like that!
Dani: Teehee! Someone's in luuuurve! But oh no! An old man just picked his nose for five minutes in front of you. What do you think of that? Sandy: I think that I probably need to buy him a box of tissues or some…hand sanitizer or something.
Dani: Is there anywhere in the world you'd particularly love to visit? Sandy: I really want to visit Sunnyshore City in Sinnoh. Actually, anywhere with a beach would be fine, I lived in Fotree City as a kid and I live in New Bark Town now, so I never got a chance to go to one.
Dani: Fun under the sun! What's your idea of a perfect day? Sandy: An idea of a perfect day for me would be to get everything I wanted to do in that day done, since I normally don’t.
Dani: Oh you're a bit lazy eh? Hmm, how would you react if someone ran up to you and shaved your head? Sandy: I think I’d be really upset…I kind of like my hair. I-I hope that didn’t sound self absorbed, I’m really not! Er... oh I should probably stop talking again.
Dani: Meeting someone for the first time, what are you likely to do or say? Sandy: Well, my reactions to meeting different people vary depending on who they are, but I try to be as polite as possible.
Dani: 4/3 of people can't do fractions. Are you one of them? Sandy: I…really can’t… I was never very strong in math, but my brother is. I think that’s where all the brain cells for that went to sometimes.
Dani: I'm no math whiz either. That's why I stick to reporting. So, what kind of food do you like to eat? Sandy: I really like homemade soup. Oh, and rice and vegetable rolls are pretty good too, but my mom makes them better than anyone I know.
Dani: Parting question; How the you yellow man for bowl soccer peanut? Sandy: …Pardon? I didn’t understand the question...
"And sorry, but that's all the time we have for today folks! Thank you, miss Sandy Katayko, for helping with this interview and I hope you and your little lover boy settle down in the future! This is Dani signing out, see you next time!"

Dani's Trainer Interview! This month's guest; Schuylar Walker "This thing's on right?
It's a bit chilly out today, but I can assure you the cold hasn't stopped our next interviewee from being outside! Let's go say hi to Schuylar Walker!"
Dani: SCHUYLAR! SCHUYLAR WALKER! Can you stop for a moment? I'd like to interview you! Schuylar: Oh you do, do you? Alright I guess.
Dani: Welcome to the interview! How are you feeling right now? You have a weird name. Schuylar: Fantastic, thanks for asking! Everything has been awesome so far, even though I'm just starting out. Probably better than most, if I don't say so myself. Ehehe...
Dani: Eh whatever, no one cares about that. What got you started on your journey? Schuylar: Well, to be completely honest, I almost died. I was on a trip with my parents, and for some reason, I though chasing a Ditto was a good idea. To make a long story short, the chase disrupted a herd of Tauros, and I was almost crushed to death. But this guy in a flashy cape flew by on a Dragonite and saved me. Ever since, I've wanted to be a Dragon Tamer so I could meet that man again and thank him.
Dani: Is there a particular type of Pokémon you prefer above all others? Schuylar: The Dragon type, without a doubt.
Dani: What about a type you absolutely despise? Schuylar: Uh... I haven't really thought about that one. I don't really hate any type, I guess. Every type has its advantages and disadvantages.
Dani: If a Salamence touched down in front of you, how would you react to it? Schuylar: A Salamence??? I would scream and try to hug it - I mean, I'd throw every Pokeball I had at it and hope to catch it. ... What? I'm serious!
Dani: Any goals you wish to accomplish during your journey, other than collecting badges? Schuylar: To become the world's best Dragon Tamer, and to thank the Dragon Tamer who saved me.
Dani: Alright, name your favourite moment of your journey so far. Schuylar: So far? Probably starting off from New Bark Town. It was just so perfect, and you never really forget your first steps on your journey.
Dani: My sources tell me you were almost killed during a stampede of Miltank and Tauros. Are you frightened of them because of that? Schuylar: Eh... I'm not fond of them, certainly. Alone they don't frighten me too much. But if a herd of them charged after me again, you could bet that I'd freak out and run away.
Dani: How was life growing up in Unova? Schuylar: Certainly much different from living here! I can't really say that it was good or bad, since my parents traveled a lot. But there's a lot more of a shift toward urbanization there. In some cases, it comes really close to infringing on the natural habitat of some types of Pokemon, which is worrisome. But there's also a lot of respect for the past and a desire to preserve the environment, which helps balance everything out. All in all, I'm glad I grew up there.
Dani: Obligatory question time! Tell us, what are you like as a person? Schuylar: Confident and outgoing! Haha, but seriously, I am. I don't normally get all introspective, but I do trust in myself and my abilities as a trainer. I trust my team too, and anyone who makes a good impression on me. But if you annoy me, you better watch out! I'm not the type to forgive easily, so a bad first impression is generally the last impression you'll make on me.
Dani: If Silver accosted you on the beach while you were sunbathing (just roll with this darling!), said you were fat and your skin was paler than a bleached whale, would you; a) bash him in the head with a rolled up towel; b) kick sand in his face; or c) zap him with a mutation ray gun that caused him to sprout tentacles all over his body? Schuylar: Uh... Sunbathing? Nevermind that, on to what that jerk Silver said! Ooh, that guy really annoys me! Next time I see him, I'm gonna beat him all the way into next Sunday! ... Sorry, got a bit carried away. I'd probably have to go with Option C. Then he'd look like the monster he is.
Dani: When was the last time you cried? Schuylar: Ah... Well, actually, when I almost lost to Silver. I was so desperate to win, and even when I did, Zippo almost died, and there was nothing that I could do...
Dani: Zippo, as in the lighter? There's a little kid crying out for their mommy in the middle of a busy street! Would you stop to help them? Schuylar: Of course! What kind of person would just leave a kid crying in the street?! You'd have to be a real jerk to just leave him there.
Dani: Did you know sarcasm is the last refuge of the imaginatively bankrupt? Schuylar:Of course! What kind of person NO. Really? I never knew.
Dani: Your team is exhausted, the champion's room is in ruins, and the champion himself bows before you, utterly defeated, You have triumphed over the greatest trial any trainer goes through. What's the first thing you do? Schuylar: Scream at the top of my lungs, "I DID IT!!!"
Dani: Out of your current party, which Pokémon is your favourite? Schuylar: Hmm... Tough choice. I love all of my Pokemon, but I'd have to go with Zippo, my Charmander. After all, he is my starter, so he's been with me the longest. Plus, Fire Pokemon are cool!
Dani: Are there any boys that catch your eye? Schuylar: Um... I haven't really taken the time to look... The only guys I've met are Silver and some kid named Joey. Joey's not even close to my age, so I couldn't care less. And Silver is a jerk. A big, mean jerk. ... I mean, I guess if he wasn't such a jerk, maybe he'd be sort of... kinda... attractive... Why are you laughing?!
Dani: I'm totally *snort* not laughing.. Some sick, balding man in a Poké Mart turns around and sneezes on you! Ewwww, what do you do now? Schuylar: Yell at him to learn to cover his mouth. That's just gross. Some people say I have anger issues. I have no idea what they're talking about.
Dani: Is there anywhere in the world you'd particularly love to visit? Schuylar: Well, I've been all sorts of places, but I really want to visit the Dragon's Den. I mean, it's the Dragon's Den, where the Dragon Temple is. It's practically the most important place a Dragon Tamer can go. I'd also really like to visit some places with real history, like the Tin Tower and Burned Tower here in Johto, or maybe the Spear Pillar in Sinnoh.
Dani: What's your idea of a perfect day? Schuylar: Probably something similar to how the past few days have been: sunny skies, light breeze, not too hot. I'd like to sit under a tree and read a book, or maybe go on a hike and find some ruins or something interesting.
Dani: There's an obnoxious woman holding up a line for ice cream on a hot summer day. Would you confront her? Schuylar: Well, someone has to, right? ... Right?
Dani: Meeting someone for the first time, what are you likely to do or say? Schuylar: Confidently introduce myself with a firm handshake and a smile. What can I say? I'm a people person.
Dani: d0 y0u $p3ak 1337? Schuylar: 707a11y.
Dani: Oh no, hunger strikes! What food best whets your appetite? Schuylar: Bread! I could eat bread forever...
Dani: Parting question; I can count to potato! Can you? Schuylar: Of course! Can't everyone?
"And sorry, but that's all the time we have for today folks! Thank you, miss Schuylar Walker, for the interview! Let's hope you don't get trampled by a herd of Tauros any time soon. This is Dani signing out, see you next time!"

Dani's Trainer Interview! This month's guest; Justin Pryce "How's my hair? ...eugh, give me that hat then. Whew, that's bett- OH! Uh, hi there everyone! Sorry, winter weather plays havoc on my hair, if you didn't already guess that. For listeners new and old, this is Dani's Trainer Interview! Each month I interview a trainer currently progressing through Johto! How I track them down is my secret, though!
I then ask them a series of questions, some candid and some not, and you hear the answers live! It's very cold out and there's loads of snow, but out here in the middle of it all is photographer extraordinaire, Justin Pryce! Let's swoop in for a quick and sweet interview!"
Dani: JUSTIN PRYCE! Stop taking my picture teehee please. I'd like to interview you! Justin: Oh, sorry, one sec... alright, ready when you are.
Dani: Welcome to the interview! How are you feeling right now? Justin: Pretty good! Hoping I don't mess any'a this up, ta be honest...
Dani: Eh whatever, no one cares about that. What got you started on your journey? Justin: Oh! Good question! Hmmm. Photography. Been into it since I was a kid, but I finally decided to get off my butt and do something with my self.
Dani: What's the deal with the stripe tattoos? Justin: I lost a bet. Now, don't get me wrong. I love Raikou. It's my dream to take a clear shot picture of 'em, but my buds and I were out drinking one night and we were bettin' on something, and I lost so they decided I had to get Raikou tattoos. I like 'em though. Just wish I could remember what I lost the bet on...
Dani: Probably who could count to potato the fastest... I hear you're a fairly laid-back dude. Does that charm the ladies? Justin: HA! I must have a sign that says 'STAY AWAY FROM ME' glued to my forehead. The accent gets to 'em, but other than that... To be honest, I don't really come across many ladies in my travels.
Dani: Mmhm, I see... well! Let's talk about your camera. Is there a time you'll never be seen with it, or is it practically glued to you? Justin: It's usually glued to me, but i'm gettin' better 'bout that. My team enjoys the pictures, but they're letting me know when it's time to put the camera up and focus solely on tha task at hand. But if it's not in my hands being used, it's still most certainly on me.
Dani: Any goals you wish to accomplish during your journey, other than collecting badges? Justin: Badges are just'a extra thing. I'm aiming to be a better-than-decent Pokemon photographer, so traveling around growing stronger with my Pokemon is allowing me to travel around and see Pokemon that aren't necessarily seen in Azalea.
Dani: Alright, name your favourite moment of your journey so far. Justin: Hmmmm. I dunno... I was poisoned the other day by a Bayleef... Um... That's not my favorite though.. I guess... maybe i'll count meeting all of my team mates as one time, how does that sound?
Dani: What got you so interested in the legendary Pokémon Raikou? (I have my sources, boyo. Hehehe...) Justin: Well, for one, he's a freaking tiger. Ha! I love 'em. But really though, he's powerful, and he's electric, my favorite type of Pokemon. I dunno. I guess the elusive nature of the Pokemon just draws me in, I guess. Pretty neat if ya think 'bout it.
Dani: Which Pokémon, out of all the ones you own, are you most closely bonded with? Justin: Oh, I dunno... we're all pretty close. I'd say it would probably be Simba, my Luxio, though Dayn, Surreo and I are pretty close...
Dani: Obligatory question time! Tell us, what are you like as a person? Justin: Hmmm. Pretty laid back. I go with the flow, but definitely appreciate and love excitement and adventure.
Dani: If there was a group of Silver clones that cornered you on a city street, and, in full view of everyone, pantsed you, would you; a) hike up your pants and run; b) go inSTAIN and destroy them; or c) use a nearby Skitty that knows Hyper Beam and annhilate them entirely? Justin: Hmmm. Grab the Skitty, leaving the pants down. I wear boxers, so they're just like shorts. If there's no Skitty, i'll grab a Magikarp. Those are pretty deadly.
Dani: When was the last time you cried? Justin: Hmmm... Simba did end up shocking me the other day by accident... That's a story for another time though! It was actually pretty painful and in a particularly un-pleasurable place.
Dani: Sounds kinky. Picture this (heheh); it's a beautiful summer sunset, and there's a picture-worthy scene of some Surskit gliding across the top of a sun-streaked lake. It's your last bit of film, and this kind of photo would probably be once in a life-time. But just as you take it, a Snorlax falls from the sky right into the middle of the lake and ruins it. How would you feel? Justin: Is that Snorlax alright? It took a pretty brutal fall... Nah, the ruined picture wouldn't bother me. There's beauty all around, ya just gotta open yer eyes and look for it. There will be more things to take pictures of. Now excuse me while I laugh at tha mental image of me trying to save a drowning Snorlax...
Dani: U mad bro? Justin: Not at all.
Dani: Your team is exhausted, the champion's room is in ruins, and the champion himself bows before you, utterly defeated, You have triumphed over the greatest trial any trainer goes through. What's the first thing you do? Justin: Take a picture with the Champions healed Pokemon and mine. I'd set it on a ten second auto-picture and go from there. Maybe put bunny ears behind their head for fun.
Dani: You've met some fine ladies while traveling; is there a special one you really like? Justin: ... Er... There, uh, was... but she kinda told me to never see her again... So I've been getting over her.
Dani: A photographer like you takes countless amazing photos, but is there a scene you've captured that makes you laugh? Tell me about it. Justin: I took a picture while Dayn was battling some Youngster. I felt bad about laughing, but the picture has the image of the terrifying Dayn, my Gyarados, facing the kid's Pokemon. The look on the kid's face was PRICELESS. It's hard to explain though, my Pokemon all look pretty brutal and tough, but most are just softies. But the look makes me chuckle every time.
Dani: A snotty little girl in the Poké Mart runs up to you and throws her lollipop in your hair! How would you react to this? Justin: Hrg, durn kid. I dunno, just rip it out and hand it back to her. It'd probably look like a blonde Wookie when she got it back though. Serves 'er right I guess?
Dani: Is there anywhere in the world you'd particularly love to visit? Justin: Everywhere. Where there's life, there's pictures. Where there's people, there's pictures. Heck, even scenery can be captured in a picture, though it doesn't do it justice.
Dani: What's your idea of a perfect day? Justin: Lazing about with a book and my camera with all my Pokemon running around. I hate carrying around just 6. I wanna carry 'em all around at the same time!
Dani: If you were standing in line at the grocery store behind someone who argues with the clerk about getting discounts using prices from other stores and is holding everyone else up, what would you do? Justin: Wait or move to another line.
Dani: Well that's no fun. Meeting someone for the first time, what are you likely to do or say? Justin: Introduce myself, make sure Simba doesn't tackle them and lick their faces, take pictures (I love taking pictures of people and their Pokemon. It's a neat thing, you can catch alot of personality there. Tells a lot about a person)
Dani: Do you like to read, or are you more of a pictures-only sorta fellow? Justin: I like to read. Simba and I will usually curl up with a good book before bed and I'll read to 'em.
Dani: Oh no, hunger strikes! What food best whets your appetite? Justin: STEAK! Rare.
Dani: Parting question; how do I shot web? Justin: Uhhh, have you tried shouting go web? Fly? How do I answered question?
"And sorry, but that's all the time we have for today folks! Thank you, mister Justin Pryce, for the interview! Stop taking pictures of me dammit, I'm not looking my best today. This is Dani signing out, see you next time!"

Dani's Trainer Interview! This month's guest; Joey Raymond Johnson "I hope the weather is nice again tomorrow, I could work on my tan. It's a little early but-- OH HI THERE. For listeners new and old, this is Dani's Trainer Interview! Each month I interview a trainer currently progressing through Johto! How I track them down is my secret, though!
I then ask them a series of questions, some candid and some not, and you hear the answers live! It's a bit late at night, but we've spotted our target and are closing in now on Joey Johnson! Let's swoop in for a quick and sweet interview!"
Dani: JOEY JOHNSON! Hold it right there, bucko, I'd like to interview you! Joey: Gah, bloody hell, don't creep up on a guy like that...
Dani: Oh don't be such a nag. Welcome to the interview! How are you feeling right now? Joey: Ehhh, not too bad. Feelin' a little achy but sleeping out in the open with the night sky as your blanket can do that to ya.
Dani: Eh whatever, no one cares about that. What got you started on your journey? Joey: Haha, onto the real meat o' things. It's a pretty long story but to cut it short, you could say my journey was started due to revenge. Up until two years ago, I was just a no good punk loitering around the Cycle Bridge hanging out with delinquents and bikers. I had no ambition, no driving force behind me. That all changed when Team Rocket screwed up what little we had. Wrongly framed, you could say i'm looking to exact a lil' vengeance of my own to the bastards. That and be able to set foot back in Kanto. Oh that reminds... HEY MA! I'M ON THE RADIO!
Dani: HEY. SHUT UP. Tell us a little bit about that band you like... what was it, Iron Lairon? Joey: IRON AGGRON! Oh man, they are one of the gnarliest, loudest and righteous bands around. They've toured in every region known to man and have some of the heaviest music goin'. Come back and tell me you don't think 'Rockclimb To The Hills', 'Haunter Of The Opera', 'The Trainer' and 'Fear Of The Dark Types' ain't some of the best songs around. Up the irons!
Dani: I gotta ask, it's really burning me up; does that whole macho, tough-biker dude look charm or repel the ladies? Joey: You'd be surprised. Considering I stink worse than a Koffing using Smog, look about as suave as a Liechi Berry and live my life on the run... It's quite the opposite. Guess the ladies aren't repelled and like a badboy.
Dani: I certainly do. What's the deal with those Voltorb traps at your warehouse? (err... yes that's common knowledge!) Joey: Warehouse? Voltorb traps? Err... I think you got the wrong guy... Eheheh... (Crap, looks like someone made it past them yet again). Still, let's pretend I did have a warehouse and by some astronomical chance that I ALSO had Voltorb traps set up in place it's a simple explanation. They explode on trespassers on contact and they get to live a nice sheltered life from the elements.
Dani: Any goals you wish to accomplish during your journey, other than collecting badges? Joey: Funnily enough, collecting badges is bit of a sideshow for me. I pop in to challenge these gym types just to assess how well i'm doing. My main goal is the complete and utter eradication of Team Rocket. Still, I'd likely be waltzing around Johto anyway out of respect for my old mentor who had many an adventure here.
Dani: Alright, name your favourite moment of your journey so far. Joey: HUUUUH?! You honestly expect me to pick just one?! Sheesh... That's real hard. Hate to sound like a soppy bastard but I guess all the friends I've made along the way has been the shining moment. Both people and Pokemon alike.
Dani: Koffing seems to be your mascot... what's the reason for this? Joey: Are you kiddin' me?! Look at them Koffing. Their dopey grins, their unabashed way they just don't give a damn about gassing everywhere. They just resonate with my carefree attitude, y'know? Haha, not really. I had one as a pet growing up and you could say they're my favourite Pokemon. So why not do a little homage, eh?
Dani: Which Pokémon, out of all the ones you own, are you most closely bonded with? Joey: You sure like yer difficult questions, huh? Well, it's a close call but you could say my buddy Slash is who I share the closest bond with. Me and him are like partners, see? I met him earlier on upon setting foot in the region and since then that moggy's been with me all the way. Whenever I got out on my... Err... Shenanigans, he's always there to back me up. I'd even say he's my equal.
Dani: Yes, yes I do. Obligatory question time! Tell us, what are you like as a person? Joey: A pretty average guy really. I just like getting on with my own life but you so as much start jacking around with my liberties and you will be under my wheels. You and me can respect that and we'll get on juuuuuust fine.
Dani: Play along with this; if Silver somehow managed to corner you in an alley and cracked awful yo momma jokes about, well, your mother, would you; 1) bust a cap in his ass; 2) run him over with a motorcyle; or 3) blow him to the moon with a Large Barrel Bomb+? Joey: So easy I don't even gotta think. I'd do all of them and likely a dozen more you didn't give me the option for. I'm not gonna stand around like a Larry while some punk ass schmuck is runnin' my ma's good name through the mud.
Dani: When was the last time you cried? Joey: Hahahahaha, good one. Us manly men don't cry... Heheh... Err... Let's say I witnessed an innocent Pokemon get shot and... Yeah. Hit home pretty bad what with what happened to my first Pokemon gettin' shot an' all. Rest in peace Smog and Kappa.
Dani: I hear you're a very renowned thief. Who taught you the trade and have you done anything really naughty? Joey Y'heard right. I like to pride myself on the fact i'm a darn good thief in my own right. Funnily enough, I learnt the trade from a very early age. I grew up in beautiful Fuschia and I was always gettin' in trouble. Got to be quite the bane of the community actually. But there was this one guy... This one doddery old fart. He was always one step ahead of me and he came to take me under his wing. Turns out the old sod was a renowned ninja thief in his own time. Fuschia ain't the home of the ninja for nothin'! Anyways, figurin' that I just needed some structure he went about imparting to me all he knew.
As fer naughty... Pft. Figures that who taught me and my naughtiest escapade would be linked together one an' the same. My old mentor, he was... Bit of a lech. Nothin' too overbearing, it was kinda funny in all honesty. Anyways, he'd usually set me tests to steal things in order to judge how much I had learnt. One of my first tests happened to be breaking into the local Women's Fuschia Swimming Association and raiding their knickers from their changin' rooms while they were out. Needless to say it didn't end too well.
Oh and you might wanna check that 3DS you just bought. Heheh. Purple.
Dani: At least you didn't steal my knickers. So how about that Sharada? Joey: You know about Sharada? Haha, figures a classy dame like her'd be the talk of the town. Er, city... Region. Whatever, phwoar. Let's just say she's a real Hoenn beaut. Not just a pretty face either, I owe her a lot. You could search your entire life and not find another one of her. Hey, I did a shout out to my ma can I do one for her too? YO SHAR! I'M ON THE AIRWAVES! Haha, hope she's listening. Thinking back, we had bit of a chance encounter. I figured I'd play a little game with her and *ahem* borrowed her shiny Swablu. I gave it back o' course.
Dani: Your team is exhausted, the champion's room is in ruins, and the champion himself bows before you, utterly defeated, You have triumphed over the greatest trial any trainer goes through. What's the first thing you do? Joey: Hahahaha, now THAT is a nice thought. You'd probably expect me to do a million and one things. Piss on the champ's red carpet? Swing from the fallen drape curtains? Go and take my place on the champion's throne? But what i'd really do? Run the HELL outta the building, make it to the gateway between Johto and Kanto and proceed to set foot back onto my home soil and laugh in the police's faces as they can't do squat to the reignin' champ. Makin' champ might actually be what I need to do to clear my name... Thanks for that thought. Guess all those badges I'm collectin' won't go to waste, eh?
Dani: You don't seem like the kind of guy to wind up in embarrassing situations, but can you share with us one mortifying moment of your journey? (psst nursejoey) Joey: Are you kiddin' me?! In my line of work, embarrassing situations are aplenty. I may be a renowned thief but that don't mean the shave don't cut a bit too close for my liking. Take for example that one time I was bein' chased and somehow found myself diving into a Pokemon Centre and pinchin' a spare set of nurse clothes... Yeah. I'll spare the mental image.
I swear, I find anyone sayin' I look good in drag and I'll slam ya a knuckle sandwich!!
Dani: Name your favourite alcoholic beverage for us? Joey: Are you kidding? That's a tough 'un... I recently sampled some of this Driftveil Rum. I tell ya, if you ever get your hands on that you're in fer a treat. I also kinda like Kanto styled bourbon. Fifty, fifty. It could go either way.
Dani: Some random little kid has found his way into your warehouse and topples over a bike, causing parts to fly everywhere. How do you react? Joey: My first reaction is to get the kid the hell outta that storehouse. It won't be me the kid should be worryin' about, it'll be Eightball. That guy would probably rip the kid limb from limb and I don't mean usin' his Machamp to do the deed. After that, probably a hefty scoldin'... And also cringing over how the traps failed yet again...
Dani: Is there anywhere in the world you'd particularly love to visit? Joey: Anywhere and everywhere. I'm a rider of the wind, I'll just hop on my bike and go wherever my whim decides.
Dani: What's your idea of a perfect day? Joey: Loud music, lots of booze, all my mates and a good ol' party. I reckon the warehouse could probably accommodate everyone, so much as people lay off battlin' too hard.
Dani: What would you do if you were standing in line at a store and an elderly lady at the cash register suddenly whipped out a gun and attempted to rob the joint? Joey: Probably just stand there and grin like a crazy bastard. Maybe even tip my bandanna to the old broad. Never too late to start robbin' your first store.
Dani: Meeting someone for the first time, what are you likely to do or say? Joey: Haha, it all depends. If I get the feelin' they're an ass i'll lighten their pockets. If the person looks decent enough i'll usually drop in real smooth like and introduce myself. That is if they don't take offence. A lot of people think i'm gonna mug 'em. I'm a nice guy, honest.
Dani: I hear you're a bit of a hot-head; is there anything in particular that calms you down? Joey: There's a few but the best is probably a good Pokemon match. Pit me in one corner and my opponent in the other and watch the sparks fly. Its like my Pokemon channel my rage and let rip in battle.
Dani: Oh no, hunger strikes! What food best whets your appetite? Joey: A nice, big, fat, greasy burger.
Dani: Parting question; who would win in a fight, Batman or Godzilla? Joey: Neither. Radical Larry would vibrate through them before they had a chance to even comprehend what a Radical Larry even is.
"And sorry, but that's all the time we have for today folks! Thank you, mister Joey Johnson, and please stop trying to raid my pockets for stuff. This is Dani signing out, see you next time!"

Dani's Trainer Interview! This month's guest; Sharada Sewell "Who in their right mind wants to spend time in this stupid forest? It's so wet, gloomy and stinky-- eh!? Oh, we're live.. ahaha... For listeners new and old, this is Dani's Trainer Interview! Each month I interview a trainer currently progressing through Johto! How I track them down is my secret, though!
I then ask them a series of questions, some candid and some not, and you hear the answers live! We're trekking through the trees of Ilex Forest, and we've just spotted our next target - one miss Sharada Sewell! Let's move on in!"
Dani: SHARADA SEWELL, GIT ON O'ER HERE. I'd like to interview you! Sharada: O-oh no that's fine, I'm not really in the m-mood for one..
Dani: BE A GOOD SPORT DEARIE. Welcome to the interview! How are you feeling right now? Sharada: W-Welcome? Interview? Y-You dragged me over here pretty forcefully but I guess I can spare a few minutes. I have some, er, business to take care of so let's make it quick, yeah?
Dani: Eh whatever, no one cares about that. What got you started on your journey? Sharada: My journey, huh... Well I guess it was a mish mash of things through my time growing up. Back in Hoenn I really looked up to the local Gym Leaders, Brawley in Dewford and Flannery in Lavaridge. They were both so friendly and confident in everything they did, both things being certain traits I lack. I started realising that I was a bit of a blank canvas sitting around at home doing zilch, so I decided to head out on a journey to better myself.
Dani: I hear you have an adorable shiny Swablu! How did you find such a rare Pokémon? Sharada: Ahh! You mean Lute? Well, it's kinda funny. I met her so long ago the memories are almost fuzzy. I'm pretty sure I entered some sort of contest and managed to come out on tops. Either way, she has been by my side since I received my very first starter and is a very important member to my team.
Dani: Do you have a sweet tooth? Sharada: I guess that's one way to put it. Anything that looks sweet and sugary I can't seem to resist. I guess there isn't anything wrong with having a huge liking for sweet stuff... Er, do I sound childish?
Dani: Not really. I like the good ol' cake here and there myself. A little birdie told me you're very good at playing the piano.. why did you take that up? Sharada: Hmm, it was something my grandmother used to play when I was really little and I took an interest in it too. Hah, I'm not an expert or anything of the sort though, it was just a mere hobby and past time to keep myself busy. I was always a bit of a lonely kid but I felt some sort of connection with the tranquil notes of a piano, so kept at it. Not that I have even seen one lately, my knowledge of it has probably dried right up.
Dani: Any goals you wish to accomplish during your journey, other than collecting badges? Sharada: Badges are more of a side goal, if I collect them and show my parents then they'll be pleased, but the main reason for traveling it just to grow as a person. I mentioned a little earlier that I was a lonely kid, just getting on the boat over here to Johto was a big step for me. I tell ya what though, I heard later on that it's possible to capture Miltanks. I LOVE those things! Sure I have a great team of Pokemon already but if I can get my hands on one of those, I'll be able to go back to Hoenn a happy girl.
Dani: Alright, name your favourite moment of your journey so far. Sharada: Lesse... Favourite moment... I've got a lotta memories over here in Johto but perhaps when I defeated Falkner and Bugsy, too, for that matter. It just felt great knowing that me and my team work well enough together to beat this people who are acknowledged by the Pokemon League. But besides that, there is never a dull moment in my journey anyway. Friends, evolutions, just getting into a new town brings me some form of happiness.
Dani: You seem to adore the Pokémon Luvdisc. Why so? Sharada: Besides Luvdisc being one of the most adorable Pokemon on the planet?! My love for the small creatures was actually thanks to my father. I was having a rough patch in school but on a trip out to sea, he captured me one and brought it home. You could say it was pretty much my very first Pokemon. It was so cute and small, my first best friend. Speaking of which, I wonder how he is doing now...
Dani: But they smell like fish! Which Pokémon, out of all the ones you own, are you most closely bonded with? Sharada: That's a bit of a tricky one. It would be a very close tie between my Swablu, Lute and Togekiss, Yune. Both of them have been by my side for such a long time and I'd say as a trio, we work the best together.
Dani: Yes, yes I do. Obligatory question time! Tell us, what are you like as a person? Sharada: H-Huh? I, er, think it's a little strange trying to describe myself. Well, I, er.. I guess I can seem a bit suspicious and mistrusting of people when they first meet me. I try to avoid making close bonds with anyone so usually come across as a bit snappy or uncaring. I try to put on a fake face and act normal these days, unless you really appear to be an idiot right off the bat, then I dont wanna know. I'm quite a girly girl at heart though, I love fashion and cute things. I suppose you could say I just find it difficult to put any true emotions across.
Dani: You're minding your own business while shopping and suddenly, out of nowhere, Silver bursts out from a clothing rack and puts lacy underwear on your head. Would you; a) squish him like an insect; b) run crying out of the store; or c) throw water at his pants and announce to the whole store that he's just peed himself? Sharada: Silver?! You mean that red haired kid?! Well I'd take him back to the bos-- ER! I.. I would obviously pick answer C! Not quite sure where I would get the water from but I can imagine having a good old laugh as the annoying pest turns as red as his head from embarrassment.
Dani: When was the last time you cried? Sharada: I would say sad but crying? I try to keep it a rare occurrence. Earlier in the year I stumbled across some martial artist guy who almost shattered my shoulder and I damn well probably cried in pain cause of that. Of course, there have been other near-crying experiences with a certain Slowpoke.
Dani: The poor Slowpoke will realize its pain by next year. I heard you had a bad experience on a boat when you were younger. Are you scared of them because of that? Sharada: Ooh no, it wasn't the boat at all. My father makes them back in Slateport, if anything I probably want to grow up and be a mechanic alongside him. Nah, it's that pesky thunder and lightning what I have a fear of. I'm not even one hundred percent fine around electric types. Even grown up now I look up and know that the chances of getting hurt are slim but the memory has been burnt in since I was a kid, I can't seem to shrug it off.
Dani: So how about that Joey? Sharada: HUH?! JOE?! I, er, dunno who you are talking about. I'm sure if I did know a Joe that he would be a no good thief who always teases me by stealing my stuff. He would.. kinda, grow on me after a while but hmph. A-As if I know a Joe! *blush*
Dani: D'aw you're such a scamp. Your team is exhausted, the champion's room is in ruins, and the champion himself bows before you, utterly defeated, You have triumphed over the greatest trial any trainer goes through. What's the first thing you do? Sharada: Champion... Such an idea hasn't really crossed my mind. The idea of being known as a champion sends shivers down my spine, I wouldn't want that sorta attention. I'd probably wait longingly at the door for the next challenger to waltz in so I can hand them the responsibility!
Dani: You've gained some renown in the Rocket world (I have my sources, mwaha). What made you want to join the criminal elite? Sharada: (I-Is this really okay to be put on air? If my boss hears this he'll-- )*a-ahem* Back in Violet, the recruiter convinced me that joining Team Rocket would lead to fame and glory! H-Haha! Exploit Pokemon, Steal and all that! Since I'm here to find myself I figured a life of crime might be it and I've been doing an alright job so far! Haha! Y'know, was onced bullied in the past and have now become a bully myself. (... I cant say the true reason live on air anyway.)
Dani: Team Rocket pays my salary, don't worry. Ah, you really enjoy your milk huh? Sharada: Ooh yes! A good drink of milk is both tasty and nutritious! For a while I lived with my grandparents in Lavaridge and I tell ya, nothing was better than climbing out of a hot spring with a nice, refreshing cup of milk waiting for ya.
Dani: You're enjoying some of that tasty, tasty milk when a rude old woman shoves you to get by, spilling it everywhere. How do you react? Sharada: Old or not I would damn well show her, her place! If I am protective about a few things in life, it's my Pokemon, milk and Jo-MORE MILK! They say not to cry over the spilt stuff but whoever said that was smoking something fierce. Moo moo milk is heavenly and no one is barging past and knocking out even a drop from me.
Dani: Is there anywhere in the world you'd particularly love to visit? Sharada: Well actually I am a lover of beaches and I'm really looking forward to relaxing over in Olivine and Cianwood sometime in the future. I dont think there is anywhere I particularly set my heart on but I guess after this trip I'll be heading over to good ol' Kanto.
Dani: What's your idea of a perfect day? Sharada: Anything with sun and sand! Lazing on the beach, sunbathing with all my Pokemon around me enjoying themselves and of course, a few friends if I were to ever make any, haha! A few chilled sweets and a refreshing milk wouldn't go amiss either... O-Ooh! But I would also fully enjoy a endless credit card and a entire day around Goldenrod or something, shopping til I drop!
Dani: That last one sounds so lovely.. What would you do if you were outside, enjoying a day at the beach, and a beach bully wandered over and kicked sand all over you? Sharada: Bullies? Tsk... If it were my younger self I would run off crying but since being on this journey, I'd say I've started building a bit of a thicker layer of skin. I'd probably stand up, brush myself down and beat the crap outta them myself. Or, if I know I am way too weak, send out some Pokemon to do a bit of intimidating for me.
Dani: Meeting someone for the first time, what are you likely to do or say? Sharada: Depends on how they approached me. If they are friendly, I'll greet them with a false smile otherwise a cold stare off would do. Just don't expect me to start up any sort of conversation, I'm no good at starting bonds.
Dani: Why are you so.. skittish about meeting people? Sharada: Hmph, I guess you could say I was brought up quite sheltered by my parents, they really smothered me alot. I ended up getting fa-- Er, people found reasons to pick on me and it grew into a constant problem as I was worried to tell anyone. I guess my lack of communication is a fault but I am just generally weary of people. Paranoid that they'd pick holes in me or something... If fact, I'm a bit spooked on how you know so much about me.
Dani: Oh no, hunger strikes! What food best whets your appetite? Sharada: Hunger?! Well let's see, I have a bit of a appetite so I will order one of everything! Or, some sorta mushroom dish would do. I love them with things like my mother's home cooked pasta.
Dani: Parting question; I'm sexy, do you know it? Sharada: I can tell that you, er, work out?
"And sorry, but that's all the time we have for today folks! Thank you, miss Sharada Sewell, try not to eat the wild mushrooms here, they make one trip the hell out. This is Dani signing off, see you next time!"

Dani's Trainer Interview! This month's guest; Megan Archer "ACHOO! Hey where's the Kleenex? I don't want any snotsicles.. OH. OH DEAR. Err, f-for listeners new and old, this is Dani's Trainer Interview! Each month I interview a trainer currently progressing through Johto! How I track them down is my secret, though!
I then ask them a series of questions, some candid and some not, and you hear the answers live! It's a cold, snowy day outside Cherrygrove City, and we are zeroing in on our target trainer, one Megan Archer! Let's move on in!"
Dani: achoo! HEY, HEY YOU. MEGAN ARCHER. I'd like to interview you! Megan: Eh, I guess I can stop for an interview.. why not?
Dani: Welcome to the interview! How are you feeling right now? Megan: Hello! I am doing --
Dani: SHH! I AM TALKING HERE. Eh whatever, no one cares about that. What got you started on your journey? Megan: Oh okay. I started on my journey after growing up and listening to my father talk about his journeys. He had a few of his pokemon left that helped around the house as I grew up. So my father was a big factor in me starting my journey, but there was nothing more than I wanted to get out of the house and start my own life.
Dani: How close are you and Corla? Megan: Corla and I? I would have to think that we were very close. I wouldn't be able to leaver her behind if I even wanted to. She's been a huge help in getting me going and we feed on each others strengths and weaknesses.
Dani: That sounds.. er, lovely? Would you rather have celery sticks with cheese or cavity-causing candy right now? Megan: Vegetables or candy... I would have to go for the candy right now since I basically live on vegetables and other healthy foods on my journey
Dani: Do you ever hope you'll come across that Treecko from your past again? Megan: Oh I would love to see that Treecko in Kanto again! I really do hope that it's alright.
Dani: Any goals you wish to accomplish during your journey, other than collecting badges? Megan: Seeing as I am part breeder as well I would love to collect eave evolution and species of pokemon as well as lean as much as I can about all the different Pokémon!
Dani: Alright, name your favourite moment of your journey so far. Megan: I have had so many favorite moments! I think though that the one that will always stand out to me and stay in my mind forever will by my first battle with Corla and gaining Perdu. It was my first time feel as though my journey had really begun and I was on my way!
Dani: Thanks to that incident in your past, are you afraid of Starly? Megan: For a while in my youth I was 'till my parents showed me that I can't let one Starly ruin it for me because not all Starly are going to attack me, and that they are really kind creatures.
Dani: *cough*AVIAN FLU! Which Pokémon, out of all the ones you own, are you most closely bonded with? Megan: As close as closely bonded goes I would have to say it's a great tie between Corla and Sparks. With Corla being my first pokemon I have had some great battles with her! And hatching Sparks myself I feel so much great pride and she's great to just hold and keep close if I need a hug.
Dani: Obligatory question time! Tell us, what are you like as a person? Megan: What am I like as a person? I would LOVE to think that I am a kindhearted and giving person, but I know that I have a cold nature and can be a really mean and hardcore person when I am pushed to the limit, but over all I try to hide that.
Dani: Hey missy I'm the one asking questions here! You're on the bus, minding your own business, when Silver magically manifests infront of you and and calls you a buttmunch. Do you; a) leap from your seat and throw him out the window; b) cry forever; or c) summon Cthulu on his mean ass? Megan: I probably first would scream bloody murder and then I would have to go with a, jump from my seat and push him out the window hoping he won't break a bone.
Dani: When was the last time you cried? Megan: Last time I cried? Probably the first night I got here in Johto after talking with my parents, they tend, especially my mother, be a bit dramatic. Love ya mom!
Dani: I hear you have quite the temper.. where do you draw the line from someone being irritating to being deserving of a butt-whoopin'? Megan: Yeesh, ya heard about that. Umm, well I am embarrassed to say that I do tend to have a quick and short temper. As to where I draw the line that is a good question. Hmm. I think it all depends on the situation. If the person I am conversing with is just plain stupid and doesn't understand anything and still tries to convince me they are right that might just consist in a major butt-whoopin'.
Dani: I know because I am psychic. Why is Perdu such a bully? Megan: I think Perdu is a bully from something in his past, but he also has a huge chip on his shoulder to other pokemon so that definitely plays a role, I just have to accept and love him.
Dani: Your team is exhausted, the champion's room is in ruins, and the champion himself bows before you, utterly defeated, You have triumphed over the greatest trial any trainer goes through. What's the first thing you do? Megan: Well first I would be completely humbled and awestruck. Then I would head to the Center heal my pokemon call my parents and have a celebratory phone call before I would get all my friends together and have a major party and probably crash from to much to drink or exhaustion.
Dani: If I asked you to go naked skydiving, would you do it? You claim to love taking risks... Megan: Well, I also stated that I know my limits. If the skydiving was at night, heck I'd do it in a heartbeat, as long as no one was being a perv or creepish.
Dani: LET'S GO RIGHT NOW THEN. How difficult is it for you to keep your hair in such a stylish fashion? Megan: Not much. I basically shower, brush, and pull it up.
Dani: You're forced to share a taxi with an older gentleman when he suddenly starts picking his nose. How do you react? Megan: Well seeing as I have never been in a taxi, I don't know, But I'll speak as if I have. I would move as far to the door as I could and fly out that door as soon as I was at my stop.
Dani: Is there anywhere in the world you'd particularly love to visit? Megan: I would love to go back to Kanto and continue my journey! I've heard Unova is pretty awesome as well!
Dani: What's your idea of a perfect day? Megan: A perfect day? Lounging around probably on the beach during the summer.
Dani: What would you do if a flock of bird Pokémon soared overhead and let loose a cascade of droppings? Megan: Scream, and somehow get cleaned up before it all was seeped into my clothing and made me smell for days. Yuck!
Dani: Meeting someone for the first time, what are you likely to do or say? Megan: Depends on how they first came across. If someone was friendly to me I would have just as much courteousness back. If one was rude and ungrateful, all sarcasm and rudeness will be released.
Dani: Have you attempted to ride your Ponyta at all? Megan: Actually there have been a few times, and it is really quite awesome to be up there and have your life trusted in them.
Dani: Oh no, hunger strikes! What food best whets your appetite? Megan: My mother's lasagna!
Dani: Parting question; Youngster Joey wants to know if you think his Rattata is in the top percentage of Rattatas. Megan: Umm, well, Youngster Joey, you err, keep working with your lovely Rattata and keep it clean and happy and you will have a wonderful friend and Rattata! Ciao!
"And sorry, but that's all the time we have for today folks! Thank you, miss Megan Archer, pick a warmer day to go naked skydiving alright? This is Dani signing off, see you next time!"

DJ Mary's Trainer InterviewThis week's trainer: Venominon Ouroboros
3-2-1... and we're live! Hi this DJ Mary and welcome to my Trainer Interview for the year that is 2019, for all you long time listeners you'll remember how engaging these interviews were in the past, well fret not as I assure you that I'll be asking those questions you truly want answered! For all you new listeners out there, prepare to have your perspective changed as I delve into understanding the ins and outs of some of the unique personalities we have traversing the Johto region currently. Today's lucky interviewee is the self-professed ninja Venominon Ouroboros, this young man had been notified he was selected for this month's interview and went to the extra effort of visiting the radio tower here based in Goldenrod City!
Mary: First of all, welcome Venom, it is wonderful to meet you and have the opportunity to get to know you! How are you today? Venominon: Thank you DJ Mary. I'm very grateful that you invited me to be on your show. I hope its okay if I just call you Mary. Honestly, I'm very surprised. I was chosen for this a lot sooner then I thought I would be, but I'm also happy to be here. There are actually quite a few things Id like the people of Johto to know about me. I might be a ninja, but this ninja doesn't have any secrets or anything to hide
Mary: A Ninja you say, how interesting! Venominon I'm sure the audience is already intrigued to know more about your story, could you please give the audience a bit of background as to who you are, where you come from and any family members you have! Venominon: To tell you the truth, I don't actually know where I'm from originally, or who my real blood relatives are. I've been living in the Safari Zone of Kanto's Fuchsia City for as far back as I can remember. I'm not sure how I ended up there to begin with, but I was taken in by a wild Nidoking and Nidoqueen when I was a baby. They began raising me as one of their own alongside their own Nidoran, and honestly, I still love and see them as my parents to this day. I've spent most of my life living in the Safari Zone among the various wild Pokémon that lived there, and I actually thought I was a Pokémon for a while there. That's why I trust Pokémon more then I trust any human, because there's no such thing as a bad Pokémon. If a Pokémon does bad things, its only because their trainer is bad. I learned that during my time in the Safari Zone, and its kind of become my philosophy. But one day I was found by the previous gym leader of the Fuchsia City gym, and the man I'm proud to call my father and sensei. Koga. He took me into his home and started training me alongside his daughter, the current Fuchsia gym leader, and my dear sister. Janine. It was actually Koga that gave me my name. Venom is short for Venominon, and Venominon means King of Poisonous Snakes. He probably chose it for me because of my deep love for all Poison type Pokémon. The two of them taught me how to be a ninja, a trainer, and a human. They may not technically be my real father and sister, but they still treated me like part of their family, and I do see them as my family and will always be eternally grateful to them for all they've done for me. I still made frequent visits to the Safari Zone to see my Pokémon friends and family of course, but when I wasn't there, I was in the Fuchsia gym, training and spending time with Koga and Janine. Also, given how many poachers I've seen and stopped in the Safari Zone, I cant stand people who mistreat Pokémon. If I see someone mistreating a Pokémon, I cant just ignore it and move on. Ill always stand up for and defend a Pokémon in need. I don't dislike humans, but if given the choice between spending time with humans or Pokémon, I choose Pokémon more often then not. One day, I hope humans and Pokémon will be able to reach a higher level of understanding, and I believe that I'm the one most qualified to make that happen
Mary: Wow you've had quite the ride already for such a young man Venom, I'm sure these experiences have shaped you into the person you are today! So Venom what made you want to start your own journey throughout the Johto Region?
Venominon: Well, a few things really. First of all, I don't enjoy the idea of battling against my sister. If I journeyed through Kanto, Id eventually have to face Janine in a gym battle, but I wouldn't feel very comfortable doing that. I mean, we've battled lots of times in the past, but never for competition. Its always been just for fun, and I don't want that to change for us. Another reason is that Ground and Psychic types make me nervous, and as I'm sure your aware, Kanto's Saffron City is home to a Psychic type gym. This nervousness stems from my love for Poison types, since Ground and Psychic types have a big advantage over Poison types in battle. However, the main reason I've come to Johto to begin my journey is because the gym located in Olivine City happens to be a Steel type gym. I wont lie. I despise Steel type Pokémon very much so. Don't get me wrong, I love all Pokémon very much, but I hold some bad blood when it comes to Steel types. Over the years, I've seen many trainers visit the Fuchsia gym, and battle Koga and Janine with hopes of winning a badge. And far too often, I've seen these trainers use Steel types to battle the Fuchsia gym's Poison type Pokémon. Given the Steel types immunity to poison and Poison type moves, its a solid strategy, but it still makes me very mad. And to throw salt in the wound, the trainers that managed to win then went on to insult Poison types on their way out of the gym, saying that they were weak and no match for other types of Pokémon, besides Steel types. Well I cant just leave that alone, so I've formed a team, Team Toxic, made up exclusively of Poison type Pokémon. So if Jasmine, the Olivine City gym leader is listening to this broadcast, you should know that I'm coming for you. Its nothing personal or anything, but Ill beat you and your Steel types, and Ill do it with only Poison type Pokémon, because I believe in this type
Mary: There you have it Jasmine, young Venom here has set his sights upon challenging your gym and doing what not many if any before him have done! Okay Venom, it's abundantly clear you have a penchant for poison type pokemon, would you like to share more about your love for this specific typing of pokemon and do you have a favourite pokemon from this typing? Venominon: I'm not really sure how to put it into words, but I love Poison types and everything about them, before I even met Koga and Janine. I share a deep and loving bound with all things poisonous, so much so that poison doesn't even work on me anymore, the same way Poison types are unaffected by the poison status. I cant say anything bad about them, but I could go on and on about all the things I love about them. Purple is my favourite colour, they have the coolest looks out of all the Pokémon in the world, the poison status is very useful in battle, and snakes and scorpions are my two favourite animals. Those are just a few of the many things I love about Poison type Pokémon. And if I had to pick a favourite among them, Id definitely have to go with the ultra beast that was recently discovered in the Alola region. Naganadel. Its the most amazing Poison type I've ever seen, even if I've only seen it in pictures for now. One day, I hope to meet one in person, and maybe even get it to join my team. I bet no one would ever insult Poison types again, if I battled and beat enough trainers with a Poison type like that one.
Mary: A true poison type specialist, you've already got me hooked on wanting to follow your journey to the end! Venom, do you have any hobbies you'd like to share with the audience? Venominon: Hobbies, huh? Well, I'm a big fan of the rock music performed by the gym leader and rock star of the Unova region, Roxie. And no, its not just because she specialises in Poison type Pokémon, though that was what drew me to her originally. I also enjoy fishing whenever I have the free time, but only for catch and release. And finally, a peaceful walk through the wilderness of any area is always a very peaceful way for me to clear my head, and meet some new wild Pokémon too.
Mary: Oh I have had the pleasure of visiting one of Roxie's concerts a while back, it was truly an astonishing experience so for any of you listeners out there, do yourself a favour and go check her shows out! Do you have any specific goals you wish to accomplish during your journey Venom? Venominon: Actually yes, a few. First off, its my goal to one day defeat my father Koga in a real battle, take his spot in the Elite 4, and go down in history as the greatest Poison type trainer the world has ever known. I'm not after the champion's title or anything, but if I do end up getting offered the job, I suppose I wont turn it down. Also, as I've already explained, my second goal, together with my team of poisonous Pokémon, is for Team Toxic to show the world that the Poison type is the best type of Pokémon there is, which is exactly why I only capture and train Poison type Pokémon.
Mary: It's all making sense now, you're very determined and your goals are well established, I can see you going far young man! On that note, do you have a favourite moment of your journey so far? Venominon: There have been a lot of great moments over the course of my journey through Johto that Ill always remember so far, but if I had to pick a favourite, Id have to say it was when I defeated Falkner and won my first gym badge. My Zephyr badge is the very first badge I've ever won during my time as a trainer, and I think that's a very special moment for all trainers, but more then that, this moment is special to me because it has to do with my sister. You see, Janine and Falkner have a rather intense rivalry between them, and by defeating Falkner in a battle, it kind of feels like I did Janine a big favour. I'm not sure if she can hear this broadcast or not, but if she can, then I love and miss you sis, and I cant wait to see you again
Mary: A truly unforgettable experience indeed! So out of the pokemon you currently own which pokemon are you closest to? Venominon: Oh, that's a tough one. I love all my Pokémon dearly, and I hate to make any of them feel bad, but I guess if I must answer, then Id have to give it to my Salandit. She was the first Pokémon I ever hatched and trained up from an egg, and she's grown so strong and done so much in her short time on Team Toxic. Its thanks to her that I was able to complete the Alolan trials that were recently set up in Johto, and win myself a Z Ring and my first Z crystal. Ill always be grateful to Salandit for that. Plus, her ability, Corrosion, is a very unique and amazing ability to say the least. I look forward to putting it to use, and showing a great number of Steel types what poison truly feels like.
Mary: You've already had your fair share of victories so early on, sounds like your Salandit is a bit of a force of nature in itself! So Venom, when everything is said and done with your journey how would you like to be remembered?
Venominon: Well, as I've already explained, by the time my journey is over, Id like to go down in history as the world's greatest Poison type trainer, and make sure the world knows just how powerful the Poison type truly is. Additionally, Id also really like to be remembered as the one responsible for bringing humans and Pokémon to a whole new level of understanding, so that hopefully no human will ever mistreat any Pokémon ever again. Although, I don't mean to sound cocky, and I know a lot of skilled trainers are further ahead of me on their own journey's, but if I'm able, I would also like to be remembered as the first ever trainer to challenge and defeat the Elite 4 and the champion here in the Johto region. That is a long shot I know, and its not exactly at the top of my list, but I am going to continue on my own journey, and if by some chance I'm the first one to arrive on the Elite 4's doorstep, Ill definitely grab that title while I'm at it.
Mary: There is a young man that goes by the alias Silver traversing the Johto region and trying to cause new trainers grief, if you have had the pleasure of meeting Silver before, what advice would you give to him in reference to changing his ways? Venominon: I'm afraid I haven't crossed paths with Silver as of yet, but I have heard a little about him. As such, I cant really make any informed decisions or thoughts regarding him as a person or a trainer, but I can say that I don't approve of his methods of raising Pokémon. I've heard about the way he treats his Pokémon, and as you probably guessed, I'm not at all amused. If I ever get the chance to meet him in person, Ill deal with him the same way I deal with all humans who mistreat Pokémon. Still, once the battle is over, and if he's willing to mend his ways, then maybe the two of us could become friends or rivals. If your listening out there Silver, Ill be heading for Azalea Town very soon. If your feeling up to it, then come find me. I sure I could give you a real challenge.
And there you have it folks! The enthralling interview of Mr Venominon Ouroboros! Well we will let you get on with your journey! Join us next month for another thrilling interview! And if you'd like to be put in the running for an interview well just sign-up! Ta-ta for now! A big thank you to Venominon for being the first Interviewee of the series!

DJ Mary's Trainer InterviewThis week's trainer: Amaryllis Spencer
3-2-1... and we're live! Hi this DJ Mary and welcome to my Trainer Interview for the month of February, the second instalment of 2019. If you weren't able to catch my last interview I highly recommend checking it out when a chance arises! For all you long time listeners you'll remember how engaging these interviews were in the past, well fret not as I assure you that I'll be asking those questions you truly want answered! For all you new listeners out there, prepare to have your perspective changed as I delve into understanding the ins and outs of some of the unique personalities we have traversing the Johto region currently. Today's lucky interviewee is Ms. Amaryllis Spencer!
Mary: Welcome to the show Amaryllis, it's a pleasure to meet you! How are you? Amaryllis: I'm doing fine. It's a pleasure to meet you as well!
Mary: If you'd be kind enough to share with the audience, where did you come from and feel free to share any family members you have as well! Amaryllis: I came from Rustboro City in the Hoenn region originally. It's a great place, but it does have quite a bit of water around the region. I am an only child, so I have my mother, father, and relatives like my grandparents, aunts, cousins, and uncles. My father and mother are both the founders of our company which is the sister corporation to Devon. I'm their heir, so I do whatever I can to raise the sales pitch up a notch.
Mary: Oh wow, that's quite the backstory you have! So Amaryllis what made you want to start your own journey throughout the Johto Region?
Amaryllis: When I travelled to Fortree City, I witnessed Winona's graceful and elegant style of battling. I thought if I traveled to Johto, I could try to emulate her battling style in a way that appeals to the crowd. My other reason would be to break off of the path that I was pre-determined to start from birth, so that moment with Winona was what made me want to start here in Johto.
Mary: Truly inspirational stuff if I do say so myself! Amaryllis do you have a favourite pokemon or pokemon typing, if so why is this your favourite? Amaryllis: Thanks to Winona, I have a fondness for the Flying type. The reason why the Flying type is my favourite is the fact that you can ride on one which they would let you soar into the air. All Flying type Pokemon are graceful in their own way, but my favourite Pokemon would have to be Altaria. Winona's own Altaria was just so pretty that I hope to have an Altaria of my own to train!
Mary: Altaria is such a beautiful pokemon so a great choice there indeed! Do you have any hobbies you'd like to share with the audience? Amaryllis:Well, for starters, I like reading whenever I have free time. I usually like to read about the myths and legends of the Hoenn region which details the clash of Kyogre and Groudon. Another favorite hobby of mine is sewing, something I've learned from my mother. I had sewn a lot of sweaters, jeans, and jackets for her sometimes.
Mary: Do you have any specific goals you wish to accomplish during your journey? Amaryllis: Well, I would really like to raise a team of bird Pokemon. It doesn't matter if they are another typing, all that matters is that they are all welcome under my care. I've heard that Falkner is the Flying-type gym leader of Violet City, so I hope I can battle him and show him how much I love bird Pokemon. So...Falkner, if you're listening, I hope I can show you and the entire world that bird Pokemon are wonderful to raise.
Mary: Do you have a favourite moment of your journey so far? Amaryllis: To be honest, I have one favorite moment from my journey. When my Pidgey and I were battling a Wurmple, he was quite determined to not get bested by his dinner despite being slowed down during the flight. What made it special was the determination he showed during the battle, and he tried his best in beating the wild Pokemon. In the end, he won with no serious injuries.
Mary: Which pokemon out of those you own are you closest to? Amaryllis: A tough question. I love every single Pokemon that I own, more often than not. The only Pokemon I feel that I'm closest to is my Torchic. Karna is a Pokemon you can rely on and he hasn't battled yet, but I know his strong point is helping to warm up the eggs I'm incubating. Plus, Torchic are very adorable and affectionate. His species are given to new trainers back at my home region, so I was rather elated to have him here with me. I know that all Torchic evolve to Combusken and then Blaziken, I have high hopes that he will be the greatest asset to my team of bird Pokemon.
Mary: When everything is said and done how would you like to be remembered?
Amaryllis: I would like to be remembered as someone who cares a lot for bird Pokemon and all Flying type Pokemon in general. I feel that many other trainers raise teams that are strong against Flying types in general, so I would naturally spread the word about the wonders of how bird Pokemon can take you across the sky.
Mary: There is a young man that goes by the alias Silver traversing the Johto region and trying to cause new trainers grief, if you have had the pleasure of meeting Silver before, what advice would you give to him in reference to changing his ways? Amaryllis: I don't think I have met Silver before, but if he and I cross paths, I could tell him to stop treating his Pokemon so poorly. I believe that every Pokemon in this region have their strengths and weaknesses just like regular humans do. They have feelings that other people would not get, so for Pokemon to be treated poorly, you are only hurting yourself that way. Please try to understand that not all Pokemon like the way they are to be treated.
And there you have it folks! Another intriguing interview with Ms. Amaryllis Spencer! Well we will let you get on with your journey! Join us next month for another thrilling interview! And if you'd like to be put in the running for an interview well just sign-up! Ta-ta for now! A big thank you to Sky for participating in the second instalment of the series!

DJ Mary's Trainer Interview! This week's guest is David "Marchbaby" Wolfgang
Testing...testing...one, two, three! Is this thing on? Can anyone hear me?... We’re live? Ok, good! Welcome back to DJ Mary's Trainer Interview! It’s a rather balmy October here at our studio. If you missed out of my previous interviews then I highly recommend that you check them out! My listeners may recall how engaging they were. I promise that we’ve spared no expense with this month’s installment, either! Hopefully you filled up on all the treats and didn’t let the spooky Lampent and Gengar outfits of disguised trainers this holiday season spook you too much! Without further adieu, I want to introduce you all to our wonderful interviewee, Mr. Marchbaby himself!
DJ. Mary: There he his, hurry up. Careful with the cameras, guys! Hey, Marchbaby! Wait up! *huff puff* Hey, I'm D.J. Mary and I host a monthly Trainer Interview for my listeners. Marchbaby, do you have time to answer some interview questions for us? Marchbaby: Yes that would be no trouble at all.
DJ. Mary: Ok, great! You have an interesting name, Marchbaby. I don't think there's another name out there like it! So tell us, where does the nickname "Marchbaby" come from? Marchbaby: I was born in March and the nickname just kinda stuck as a result.
DJ. Mary: A March baby, how cool! So does that make you a Pisces or an Aries? Rumor has it you're a Johto native. Tell us, are you really from our very own Blackthorn City here in Johto? When is the last time you've visited your hometown? Marchbaby: Yes I am, my last visit was several years ago just before I became a trainer.
DJ. Mary: Oh, wow. several years? Aren't you home sick? Blackthorn City is definitely known for its Dragon trainers. Oh, and the Dragon Den! We've even heard that the Dragon Holy Land lies past this point. Have you trained there with Claire before? What is it like training under Claire? Marchbaby: Yes I have and I have watched her in many battles. It is very intense watching dragon types in the thick of battle and under Claire it is even more intense. She is a very skill trainer and dragon master.
DJ. Mary: Dragon types certainly are fierce and brave! And a little bit scary! What is your favorite Pokemon? What is your favorite type of Pokemon? Marchbaby: I have two favorites actually the mighty Metagross and the ferocious Salamence. My favorite types are Dragon as is custom in my hometown and steel as I have always admired their toughness and bravery to challenge dragon types.
DJ. Mary: I think I'll stick with Jigglypuff! What are your goals and ambitions - what do you hope to accomplish? Marchbaby: My main goals are to become a dragon master and to put a stop to my idiot brother who is a member of Team Rocket.
DJ. Mary: You mentioned that your brother joined Team Rocket. There's always one troublemaker in every family, right? How does this affect your relationship with your brother? Are you both close to each other? Marchbaby: We rarely speak and when we do we are at odds with one another. He has a thicker skull than a Bastiodon.
DJ. Mary: You mentioned that you became a trainer and want to be a Dragon Master. Such an impressive goal! But what if they get out of hand? Do you have any other hobbies that you like to enjoy, or particular passion projects? Favorite books? Tell us about those, if you don't mind. Marchbaby: I am not much of a reader but like the great Hoenn champion Steven I like to collect stones especially evolution stones. I also like to listen to Pop, and Rock and Roll music from time to time.
DJ. Mary: Who has time to read with today's busy lifestyles, right?! Pop music and Rock and Roll. Such a unique combination. Are you fans of The Rolling Golems or Iron Meltan? What do you think of the band Pink Flaaffy? Marchbaby: Oh I love both of those, Pink Flaaffy is great as well.
DJ. Mary: Are they still doing concerts? Everyone's excited about the Gourgeist Festival! It's the one time of year where everyone dresses up as Pokemon and trade sweets on the streets. Will you be joining in the celebrations this year? What costume do you plan to wear? Marchbaby: Though I have not heard of it before I am always down for a festival. I will have to look into finding a Lucario costume if there are any in my size.
DJ. Mary: I bet a Lucario suit would look great on you! What are you, a size medium? Any reason you would want a Lucario suit over a something like a Dragonite or Aggron? Marchbaby: I love all 3 of those Pokemon but I have a Lucario named Vör and dressing up like her sounds like fun. I have always loved how loyal Lucario are which is another reason I would love to find a Lucario costume.
DJ. Mary: Oh, how cool! Lucario are an exceptionally rare Pokemon. Tell us, how did you and Vör meet? And where can I get one? Marchbaby: She was given to me as an egg from my friend Kevin. She has an older sister named Oracle who is Kevin's Lucario.
DJ. Mary: We've heard rumors of Rayquaza sightings, but there's never been any evidence. How would you react if you came face-to-face with the legendary Rayquaza? Do you truly believe that the people who have claimed to have seen it are being honest? Marchbaby: I do believe I would pass out from shock in such an occurrence. I do not think everyone is telling the truth; however I do believe there are those with legitimate claims. I have seen a Celebi myself in the Ilex Forest so I have every reason to believe Rayquaza is out there somewhere.
DJ. Mary: I would die of shock, too! You met Celebi in person? My, what an amazing, once in a lifetime, event! Tell us more about that experience. What was it like to come face-to-face with Celebi? Marchbaby: Oh it was quite an Interesting encounter, I was in the Ilex Forest and encountered a spirit near the Ethereal Lake. I am not sure if it is a residual haunting or not but after helping the spirit I encountered Celebi at the shrine in the forest who cured my Chikorita Cinnamon of a poison brought on by the spirits. I still do not fully understand how it all went down.
DJ. Mary: That poor sick Chikorita! Is there anywhere in the world you would like to visit that you haven't been to yet? Marchbaby: I would love to go to Opelucid City in the Unova Region as I hear the gym leader there likes dragon types and the gym has a giant dragon statue. I would also love to go to Hammerlocke's in the Galar Region as I hear the gym leader there likes dragon types and I hear the city has a unique design.
DJ. Mary: Their dragon statue is SUPER cool! Tell us, what are you like as a person? How would you describe yourself? Marchbaby: Strong willed, loyal, and caring though I admit hard headed as well.
DJ. Mary: If you could travel back in time, where would you go? Would you try to change anything that's happened in the past or try to do anything differently? Marchbaby: I would love to go back in time and see the original dragon in Unova. I would not change anything however as time travel can get kind of messy if you make any mistakes.
DJ. Mary: They say time travel is a messy business. What are your happiest or proudest moments in your journey so far? What were the most difficult or challenging parts? Marchbaby: Defeating Bugsy, not only was he the hardest gym leader I have faced so far but he was also a huge inspiration to raise a Scizor someday. Speaking of which I wonder how the Scyther I loaned to Kevin is doing?
DJ. Mary: Bugsy is definitely more than meets the eye! Imagine it is over two hundred years in the future and future generations are discussing your great legacy! Tell us, what do you hope you are remembered for when it's all said and done? Marchbaby: I would hope to be remembered as the greatest dragon master who ever lived. I also would like to be remembered as a caring trainer who cannot stand evil groups such as Team Rocket.
DJ. Mary: You might have to fight Claire for that title. Well, that's all the time we have for our interview! Thank you again for allowing us to take a bit of your time today, Marchbaby. Is there anything else you'd like to tell our listeners? Marchbaby: You are quite welcome and thank you for the interview. I would like to tell the views don't give up on your dreams and do not fear dragon types. They may be somewhat aggressive and mean but their power and loyalty is unmatched if trained correctly.

DJ Mary's Trainer Interview! This week's guest is Astrid Lindegaard
Hey there, all you Pokefans and D.J. Mary fans! Can you hear us? We're havin' a bit of trouble with this...right there? Ok, there we are! We're bringing you another smashing hit Interview live from our production studio! Today's super chilly and we're sure we saw snow falling all over Johto, so please bundle up! We wouldn't want you catching a chill, after all. If you haven't heard our past interviews, I recommend you check them out. My long-time listeners may recall how engaging they all were. Although Santa Clause couldn't make it for an Interview, we've spared no expense making sure our next contestant is twice as entertaining as a jolly gift-giving guy! Without further adieu, I want you introduce you all to our wonderful interviewee, Mrs. Astrid Lindegaard herself!
DJ. Mary: There she is...looks like she's shopping, follow me lead.... Hey, Astrid! Wait up! Man, I really need to hit the GYM more... Do you mind if we ask you some interview questions? Astrid: Easy Yakul, it is alright. I am sorry, she is rather protective. You wanna talk with me? Who are you? How do you know my name? DJ. Mary: Oh, she's never heard of us, huh? I'm D.J. Mary and I host a monthly Trainer Interview for my listeners.
DJ. Mary: Well, you've been selected for the Interview! Who entered you? We'll never tell! We noticed that you're apart of the IPF. When did you choose to join the International Police Force? What do you like most about your job? Astrid: That is a long story but I shall try keep it short *chuckles, taking a seat* I worked for the IPF before I got retired, not as an officer but just as secretary and doing all the paperwork. When I started my pokemon journey after having been retired for some time, I kept running into criminals so when the IPF offered me to join on lowered time, simply just giving me the option of handle whatever unlawful thing I came across, I could not say no. I guess that also answers what I like about it much, setting things right and stopping the ones who are hurting others, being able to do a difference.
DJ. Mary: Oh wow, so you've had a pretty full career life! Paperwork is SO boring. Who wouldn't rather be out in the field?? What was your toughest case that you've ever had to work on for the IPF? Astrid: Toughest case, hmm... I do not think I have done so much, I was on the sideline before I retired and most of what I worked with is classified and just paperwork. I did help writing the report of that case with the missing baby pokemon from the Daycare if you remember that? It must be thirty years ago or so, I am not sure if people these days knows about it but as anyone a bit older and they know what I am talking about, it was all over the news back then! I myself have not done much exciting as an officer, I am a training officer you see and not one you sent in first. But I guess that is not an interesting answer for the listeners, hm. I think the most exciting thing I have tried recently was when Team Rocket had set up operations in Slowpoke Well in Azalea Town, it was small and I helped the local police stop them there. One of the pokemon whom they had forced to help them, Ben, a totodile, has joined what I call my Police Team.
DJ. Mary: You saved a Totodile from the evil clutches of Team Rocket? What an amazing and heart wrenching story. When will Team Rocket ever learn, anyways?? Please, tell us more about that experience. How has Ben managed to adjust on your team? Astrid: Ah yes, poor Ben was kept there against his will. *hesitant* I am not sure what is fitting to say on air....Let us just Team Rocket was attempting to steal and use the slowpokes for their own cause, and had forced Ben into helping them. It was a sad sight, they had him in a cage and all. It was not easy but I am lucky to have some good strong pokemon who knew how to handle such things and battled the gang's pokemon. I am happy that Kurt in Azalea alarmed us, so we could help him. As for Ben, I think he is doing alright. He has gotten some friends within my group of pokemon and as I said before is on my police team so that he can continue to help fighting crimes, I think he likes that. He is a bit quiet but that is to be expected after what he has been through.
DJ. Mary: I hear you're from Bloomingvale. Where's that again? Somewhere between Violet and Azalea, right...? Do you visit your hometown often? Astrid: Ah yes, Bloomingvale, *unsettling silence* especially if you like Sunfloras! *more unsettling silence* I do not visit as often as I wish to be honest. I have a nice house there but the traveling, the training of my pokemon and the work for IPF keeps me on my toes. I really should prioritize spending more time at home and relaxing, it is a shame I do not do that more often.
DJ. Mary: I think we struck a nerve with that one...hmm... Not that big on your hometown, huh. There's been a small rumor that you weren't born in Bloomingvale, though. Is it true? Were you born in say...Goldenrod, instead? Astrid: Oh! Do not get me wrong, Bloomingvale is a wonderful town, there is a reason I moved there when I retired, I.. I just needed something more quiet than Goldenrod City, some more nature than just National Park. Rumors?! Are there rumors about me?! Wait, have you talked with Mrs. Jensen? If so that is hardly rumors....But it is true that I was born in and have lived most of my life in Goldenrod City, which is probably why I got restless when I retired, you know, being used to a lot more activity from the big city for whole my life.
DJ. Mary: I imagine the tranquil lifestyle of Bloomingvale is quite a bit different than the bustling lifestyle of Goldenrod! Do you have any hobbies or passion projects to help occupy your time, aside from the IPF? Could you really consider police work a hobby though...hmm? Astrid: *chuckling* Being a trainer is my hobby! It is new that I have joined the IPF but I'm not a full-time member, it is mostly so I have the option of checking out things while I am in an area. Before I started the hobby of being a trainer, my I spent most time in my garden taking care of my flowers. Hmm, no wonder I found it too calm, it is quite a contrast from Goldenrod City to a quiet flower garden, is it not?
DJ. Mary: I guess that was a funny question...? Ah, the wonderful art of horticulture! Are there any specific flower species that are your favorite? Which flowers were the most difficult for you to try to grow? Astrid: Wild flowers! I paid some of the teenagers in the town to do the hard work, and the garden is pretty big actually, I think it is in the spirit of the Sunfloras who lives there. The whole town wants it to be a great place for plants, so my garden is more like a lesser forest, which is connected with the neighboring ones. So it was more about keeping things a bay a bit, and make sure I had places to enjoy it too, and for pokemon to sunbathe. Trees like to take over completely if allowed you know. *chuckling* For the time it is mostly used as a Daycare, so I have gotten some shelters made and my young neighbor and several of the Sunfloras are taking care of it.
DJ. Mary: Know what they say right? If you can't do it all, pay someone else to! What are your goals and ambitions? What are you currently striving to accomplish? Astrid: Oh! I had not expected to be asked such things in my age! Hah! Let me see, what are my goals. Of course my main goal is to keep my granddaughters in contact, that was the reason for me to start on this pokemon training thing in the first place. That and that I was getting pretty bored at home, I am not good at finding hobbies indoors it seems....is it good enough just wanting to accomplish having a good time? To want to enjoy the rest of my life? To see my pokemon grow? *petting Yakul*
DJ. Mary: Aww, how sweet! A granny who loves her family. What's your favorite Pokemon and favorite Pokemon type? Astrid: Oh my goodness! Are you asking a Grandma to pick her favorite?! That is not going to happen, they all have their own quirks and are wonderful in their own way. Of course there can be days were one or another have a bad day and the team work is not working, but that is how life is, and just the same with the interactions between humans. You just have to work through it and find the best solution.....There are pokemon whom I had had for a long time, like my Joltik Janus, or are really helpful, but I will not call them my favorites. I don't have that! *chuckling It is a bit the same with the typing, I cannot see how one type is better than the other, does it not depend on the situation? They all have their strengths and weaknesses although a well trained one will of course do better in the right situation.
DJ. Mary: Wait...are there really people without preferences?? Some trainers have claimed to see the majestic Ho-Oh flying overhead in the clouds. Have you ever seen Ho-Oh? What would you do if it flew down in front of you right now?! Astrid: Ho.. Ho-oh? The legendary bird? Why would I have seen it? What I would do if it appeared right now? I do not know, scream? Stare in disbelief and wonder? *chuckling* Honestly I do not know. Is that a question trending on the internet, which people ask each other for fun? I have seen the Towers in Ecruteak but obviously no legendaries were around, they rarely are.
DJ. Mary: Not one for legendaries, perhaps?....Hmm... Florando is getting ready for their annual Pokemon Exhibition! I can't wait! It's a wonderful tradition where trainers gather to showcase their Pokemon's individuality and skill. Will you be visiting the Exhibition or participating in it this year? Astrid: That is showed in the television, is it not?! I am sure I watched it last year, the group of water types with the Staryu in front was really impressive! I should go watch that again when I am home next time, thanks for reminding me! Is it starting soon? I am not skilled enough to participate, you need some creativity for that, which I do not have. But I should try find the time to go there in person and see it, I wonder if Aglaia or Dorthea wants to come along too, that would be nice.
DJ. Mary: You mentioned that you started training for your granddaughters. Family is important, after all! What a nice way to bond with them. Do you have a big family, then? Do you see your family often, or attend any big family events? Astrid: *long, uncomfortable silence* Yes, and no. I do not have much of my own family left, my parents are gone and my big brother lives far away, so I do not see him as often as I wish. I.. I do have kids, and grandkids obviously, but you see, I am divorced and.. and I unfortunately do not have that much contact with that part of the family, partly due to my own stubbornness, *chuckling* So yes, I have a big family if you include them all, but I do not see them often if at all, but that is why I treasure my granddaughters so much and is thankful for what we can share due to pokemon training. It is nice being able to help each other with suggestions and hear what the other have experienced.
DJ. Mary: A granny who doesn't get to see her family...I'm not crying, you're crying! I imagine you've had to work very closely with your Pokemon on the cases you do take on. Which ones do you think you have the strongest bonds with? Do any of them help you with training other officers? Astrid: You have to work together with your pokemon the moment you are a trainer, but of course there can be situations for the IPF missions where there are no room for mistakes. I luckily will not face many of such things, and I will say my pokemon are at a greater risk than I am. That is also why I train them to be as self independent as possible, I lay out a tactic and can give some help and advice underway, but I want them to know what to do themselves, it is much faster if they can react in a tight situation rather than having to wait for me giving orders. As for bonding, take Yakul here, *Skiddo baas* I am pretty sure she has appointed herself as my bodyguard. For my police work my Growlithe Themis, Helen my Ariados and my Scyther Ove are the ones most experienced and the ones I'm working with the best. Themis and Ove has been helping training some of the others of the team, although we haven't trained other officers yet.
DJ. Mary: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you like to go? What would you like to do or explore there? Astrid: Oh! What hard questions you have! Let me think for a moment, *mumbling* I have been lucky being able to travel through my life, but it will be nice to see Bell Tower and Burned tower again, it has been quite some time I visited last time. Hmm, visiting other Regions would be nice too but I must admit that right now I am just enjoying how close contact I have as I travel as a trainer, finding all the small hidden secrets and beautiful scenery which you encounter when you travel on foot as a trainer. You often needs to go into the wild if you want to encounter a pokemon, and who knows what waits around the next corner? Oh! I would love to see what is below the surface in lakes and sea, I should probably think about taking a Diving course at some point, if I am not too old for that of course. Where do you think the best place for such thing would be?
DJ. Mary: Well, THIS DJ doesn't dive, for sure! I hear Olivine City has a great diving course! We've heard some of the challenges and exciting adventures you've had freeing Pokemon from Team Rocket. So, tell us! What are your happiest or proudest moments in your journey so far? Astrid: That is another very good question, *uncomfortable silence* I hope your listeners have patience with me, *chuckling* It is hard to say which moment was my proudest, I think I have run into a lot of headaches but I'm proud every time my pokemon has handled it the best way possible. Seeing a pokemon grow from being uncertain to get friends and confidence, I really like that. Oh, and I was really proud when I heard my granddaughters got their first badge, I do wish I had been there to see it. Oh, and I was really happy and honored when Ove chose to join me.
DJ. Mary: What do you find more important - following every rule as it is written, or following your morals no matter what? Doesn't everyone always say 'morals' anyways? Why would you choose one over the other? Astrid: The viewers cannot see it, but I am looking at you with suspicion! *chuckling* You are asking a cop if she is following the rules or her own moral? I cannot really be a cop if I did not work to uphold the law! That said, the IPF is not throwing kids to jail for a little mistake, it is also our duty to teach and help.
DJ. Mary: You've given us a lot of insight as to who 'Astrid' is. But tell us in your own words if you will, what are you like as a person? How would you describe yourself? Astrid: *mumbling* And I thought your other questions was difficult, *chuckling* I guess I tend to make things a bit complicated at times, but I do think I have learned a thing or two throughout my years, even when it comes to pokemon. We have managed to get relatively unscarred out of the encounters we have had at least...But to try make it short, I like to understand a situation before making a conclusion and my motto is You Learn As Long As You Live!
DJ. Mary: Oh, that's a great life lesson, right?! Imagine it is over two hundred years in the future and future generations are discussing your great legacy! Tell us, what do you hope you are remembered for when it's all said and done? Astrid: Great Legacy?! *loud, raucous laughing* I think you are mistaken me for someone else!...Don't anyone wish to be remembered for the good things? I do try be helpful and kind and I do hope that I will make a difference for some, and will be remembered for that. Perhaps I can even set an example. I do not wish for, nor believe that I would ever do some legendary deed, which would make everyone know me.
DJ. Mary: Well, that's all the time we have for our interview! What a wonderful granny! Thank you again for allowing us to take a bit of your time today, Astrid. Is there anything else you'd like to tell our listeners? Astrid: Time flies, and I the pleasure was all mine! Hm, is it now I am supposed to share all my wisdom? I am sure they will get tired of that soon enough so.. Enjoy life! Or there is a risk you will regret it when you reach my age!

DJ Mary's Trainer Interview! This week's guest is Selenia Hydrius
Welcome back to the D.J. Mary Member Interview Talk Show! Did anyone else see that mysterious flying Gyarados over Mount Silver?! My assistants keep telling me that Gyarados can't fly and I know that but I SWEAR I saw it clear as day, flying high over Mount Silver! Anyways...we're live and here to bring you another wonderful Interview from our production Studio. If you haven't heard our past interviews, I really suggest you listen to them whenever you're able to. We've met lots of wonderful trainers over the past months, and we've got another wonderful trainer for you all to listen to now! I want you all to give a welcoming round of applause to our wonderful interviewee, Miss Selenia Hydrius!
DJ. Mary: Oh look...over there with the new arrivals. Hurry up! Excuse me, Selenia?! Do you mind if I ask you some interview questions? Selenia: Sure, I got time. I'm just waiting to get my adventure started with my dear friend, Anton.
DJ. Mary: I hear you're a coordinator. Life in front of the cameras...Must be wonderful! Tell us, what's it like performing on stage for people? Selenia: If I am honest, it is hard to describe since I had an unfortunate accident and I broke my leg...Now, I did know a few who been on stage and they said it is nerve wracking and exciting all at the same time. From what I understood, it is quite a bit different than what your typical gym battles are like since the contests have multiple contestants competing at the same time.
DJ. Mary: Owch! That scar looks like it hurt! That must have been an immensely painful experience. Has your leg gotten better since then? Is there any advice you would give to an aspiring coordinator? Selenia: My leg is better and is fully healed. However, like any real serious break it will always be weaker than my other leg. The real pain is the emotional from having to give up my dream. As for any inspiring coordinator, it really depends how they go about it. If they intend on performing with their Pokemon, treat it as an athletic event. This means working out and stretching in preparation for them. Exercise and training will help coordinator and Pokemon alike. Building strong friendships is crucial in contests since it is very tough emotionally. If it wasn't for my circle of friends, I might still be wallowing in depression. The people I was around, even if we were all competitors, understood what injuries can do to a career regardless where it is at in the process.
DJ. Mary: I know you just arrived in Johto, so tell us... are you really from Kanto's Cerulean City? What's Misty like in person? Selenia: Yes, I call Cerulean City home. As for Gym Leader Misty, she is one of the kindest and sweetest ladies you will ever meet. Her passion for water Pokemon is what started me on my path for that particular type. She does work hard would it be alone or with her sisters. They have a very interesting dynamic personally and running the gym. Then there is a certain guy by the name of Red who used to visit from time to time.
DJ. Mary: I've heard that there's a lot of sibling rivalry between Misty and her sisters! What are your goals and ambitions - what do you hope to accomplish? Selenia: My goals...for the longest time to be the best water coordinator in Hoenn or any other place which has contests. After my incident, I learned quite a bit about how proper breeding helps out Pokemon would it be for having them for pets, your typical trainer, or shows. I want to expand my knowledge of proper upkeep of Pokemon and maybe learn what Pokemon would do best with what moves. One thing I did learn is what would be considered good battle moves don't always translate well for contests and vice versa.
DJ. Mary: Pokemon breeding is very popular, I hear! What is your favorite Pokemon? What is your favorite type of Pokemon? Selenia: As you can probably guess from my influence of Misty and her gym, I strongly favor water types. I had a mudkip, Muddy, back in Hoenn who was a fun Pokemon who would been great in shows. She was a great friend but left her at the lab in Littleroot with Professor Birch. I had to leave her to try to get a new start on my journey.
DJ. Mary: So...a coordinator from Kanto who has a partner back in Hoenn... And such a tragic story, too! Did Hoenn's contests compel you to travel to Hoenn, and how has your family supported your decision to travel to Hoenn? How difficult was it for you to leave Muddy behind at Professor Birch's? Selenia: Yes, the contests did intrigue me enough to travel to Hoenn. Due to the cost, my parents were not letting me get into contests when I was 10 years old. To placate me, they bought me a poliwag which I tried my best to train for contests. My parents realized I wasn't going to give up so easily and I needed more formal training. This is when they sent me to the academy where I learned the basics of Pokemon and also met Anton. Upon going, I made a deal with my parents that IF I graduated top of my class they would help me become a coordinator. I did my part and my parents helped me get to Hoenn with a nice outfit. They somehow contacted Professor Birch to give him a heads up. I ended up meeting him at one of his camp outs watching a group of taillow. He then led me back to his office where I met Muddy.
As for leaving Muddy, *tear-stained eyes* it was the hardest decision of my life. Polly was a childhood Pokemon and was easy leaving her because I knew my parents would be watching over Polly. As for Muddy, I really don't know what Professor Birch will do since she and I also bonded. Leaving Pokemon behind is different than a human family or friend because you know they can reach out to you. It is much harder for a Pokemon to reconnect with you especially over a very long distance. I guess the only exception is the really powerful legendary types but why would they care about us lowly humans.
DJ. Mary: What a tragic and sad story, Selenia, thank you for sharing it with us. Losing connection with a beloved Pokemon companion is definitely one of the hardest things to endure. Do you have any plans to see if you can have Muddy transported over to Johto from Professor Birch's Laboratory? Selenia: I left Muddy there with Professor Birch on purpose because I needed a clean break from the life I had before. If I would have brought her with me, I'm not sure if I could really get over the ordeal and go a different route. Birch did insist on me taking Muddy but he understood why I needed a fresh start. I'm not sure what I would do if I ever saw Muddy again. At the same time, I'm not sure if Muddy even wants to see me again.
DJ. Mary: You've mentioned that you have a friend you're planning on traveling with Star-struck lovers, perhaps?! . Did you come to Johto for your friend, Anton? Is there anywhere particular in Johto that you're hoping to visit? Selenia: *blushing* Um...well it would been hard for me to return to Kanto to my parents. I felt like I would been admitting defeat on my dreams. As for Anton or Anty as I like to tease him, he is a special friend to me and a big supporter in his own way when we were in school together. It wasn't easy to leave a 1.5 years ago but he encouraged me to follow my dream. As for any place in particular, I admit I never really considered it since I just got here. I guess any place close to the ocean or having a big lake would hold my interest like Olivine or Cianwood.
DJ. Mary: Oh, Olivine is a lovely city! Cianwood is nice too, I GUESS... They have the Olivine Cafe, which is quite the talk amongst sailors for its generous-sized menus. I can't get enough of their Smoked Tail-Curry Drizzled with Persim Reduction! What are you favorite food dishes? Do you plan on visiting the Olivine Port or the Glitter Lighthouse? Selenia: Hmm, I not sure which one I would visit. Part of me would like to visit the port and go swimming if it is allowed. It been so long since I've been swimming especially in the open water. Right now it would most likely be a bit too cold but maybe by the time I reach Olivine City, it will be in the warmer time of year. As for the lighthouse, it would give such a view of the ocean and I bet it would be beautiful and romantic at the same time. If the port and lighthouse are close together, I might do both if I am in town long enough.
DJ. Mary: Swimming is a really fun and active hobby! Though, I only know how to doggy-paddle... Tell me, how do you think you would react if you were out swimming and saw a massive wave headed your way? Selenia: I'm not the best open water swimmer so high chance I would try to head back to higher ground. If I had any water Pokemon with me, I would try to make sure they make it to shore as well even if they would more likely be the one getting me to shore. Once I got to safety, I would be curious as to why the wave came our way. Such waves aren't exactly something someone comes across every day and would hopefully get some fair warning ahead of time. My suspicion would be a water Pokemon or a group of them causing troubles. If this was Hoenn, I would blame Kyogre even if it is accidental because of swimming to close to shore or other causes by the Pokemon.
DJ. Mary: Speaking of legendaries... There's this fun game the kids love playing. They say that when it rains really, really hard its thanks to Kyogre. So, the kids love trying to hunt the Legendary Pokemon during heavy rains. Not that I've ever tried to do this...hehe! Have you ever tried to hunt for Kyogre? What would you do if you came face-to-face with Kyogre?! Selenia: I wasn't in Hoenn to hunt for the legendary Pokemon. No, if I was going to go hunt for a Pokemon, I would prefer one I know I had a chance in catching like the more common water types. As much as I see beauty in water and the things you can do with it, something as powerful as Kyogre is better left to the likes of gym leaders or the regional champion. In my studies of water Pokemon, it gave me an understanding that certain natural things should be left alone.
DJ. Mary: What an inspiring message about Pokemon preservation, Selenia. Right now, Team Rocket has gone rampant in trying to hurt Pokemon and steal trainer's Pokemon. What do you think you would do if you ran into a pair of their members hurting an innocent pokemon in the streets and trying to stuff it in a tiny cage for profit? Selenia: It would bother me to see someone like Team Rocket trying to hurt Pokemon. I do remember the group being big in Kanto a few years ago but thought they were beaten back to wherever they came from. I guess they found a new home in Johto to do their dirty work. I'm not as big into the whole law and justice thing like my dear Anton. He is the one who would enjoy taking them down. I will try to stop the Pokemon abduction but that would be it.
While I was in Hoenn, I heard rumors of a couple of gangs which might be doing the same thing but wasn't there long enough to really find out great details. I guess the criminal element is everywhere would it be going by the name Team Rocket or something else.
DJ. Mary: I know you've told us a lot about your dream of being a Pokemon coordinator, Selenia. Are there any other hobbies or favorite past times you enjoy that you haven't told us about? Blackjack, poker, racing perhaps? Selenia: The next goal is learning how to be a breeder. One thing I learned is for the real competitive side of contests or probably even Pokemon battling in general, is what is called egg moves. These moves are inherited from the parents. Now, I'm not as much for the real competitive side but more for the proper raising of Pokemon. The biggest immediate challenge is finding a place for my future nursery and getting the funds for it. I plan on talking to anyone who is involved in breeding. Who knows, maybe I will focus more on breeding for contests instead of the gym battles. One thing people may not realize is some of the moves which are great for battling may not do well for contests and vice versa.
DJ. Mary: I know this interview has really helped us to understand you better. But please tell us, in your own words, are are you like as a person? How would you describe yourself? Selenia: If you met me before going to Hoenn, I would say bubbly and a people person. There were times I would draw a crowd which I never intended but I guess it what happens when you have an outgoing personality. I was also the type who would try to cheer you up if you were down. Part of me wants to return to that type of person or at least part of her. I still want to help people out when they are having a bad day but hard to when I'm dealing with so much stuff.
As for I am now, probably a typical young adult woman who is trying to find herself with a rough plan. I do appreciate the suggestions of Olivine City and it gave me a goal to reach as I try to learn more and more about breeding. Who knows, maybe my nursery will be close to Olivine City if I like it out there enough.
DJ. Mary: Sources have informed me that they're getting ready for the Nomads Independence Day festival in Fuchsia City. It's a festival that commemorates the various nomadic tribespeople of Kanto, and they celebrate with over 100 Pokemon races! Have you ever been to the Nomads Independence Day festival? What Pokemon race would you be most interested in watching? Selenia: I never been to the races out in Fuschia City. As for the races, I really don't know. I guess it would depend if they have any water ones.
DJ. Mary: I'm sure there's a water race! What do you find more important, self preservation or sacrificing your life to protect the ones you love the most? Why would you choose one over the other? Selenia: My immediate thought would be in a life or death situation I would sacrifice myself to save others. I would gladly give my life if it meant saving Anton from being injured or killed. He is very important to me.
DJ. Mary: Imagine it is over two hundred years in the future and future generations are discussing your great legacy! Tell us, what do you hope you are remembered for when it's all said and done? Selenia: My great legacy? By no means am I a researcher or some sort of professor. When I was in Hoenn, I dreamed up being one of the best coordinators in the land like most who are coordinators. I expect many trainers here dream of being champion of the league or maybe the best in their favorite type. As for me, I don't expect to figure out anything big or life changing for all other trainers. I guess the legacy I would want to leave behind is the Pokemon I plan on raising. I'll probably raise most if not all Pokemon but I will always favor water types. IF my name of is attached to some book, I guess it would be that I was able to hatch every single known water type in the world. I know certain ones like Suicune would be impossible being a legendary type and all.
DJ. Mary: Well, that's all the time we have for our interview! Is it just me, or has the time really flown by? Thank you again for allowing us to take a bit of your time today, Selenia. Is there anything else you'd like to tell our listeners? Selenia: Great friends, would they be human or Pokemon, will get you through anything!!

DJ Mary's Trainer Interview! This week's guest is Kevin Baker
Welcome back to the D.J. Mary Member Interview Talk Show! Did you know that everyone is booked out this month? I tried to book an appointment with my stylist, no dice. I needed an appointment with my local tailors, nothing available for 10 weeks! I want you all to give a welcoming round of applause to our wonderful interviewee, Mister Kevin Baker!
DJ. Mary: Wait...where is he? Aren't military men always on time? Oh, over there! Hello! Kevin, is it? Do you have time to answer a few interview questions for us? Kevin: Ah yes, I did not think I would get picked to tell you the truth. That would be no trouble at all.
DJ. Mary: I hear you're originally from Pyrite Town in Orre Region. When's the last time you've visited your hometown? Kevin: Oh goodness, around 5 years ago. With no reports of anything bad going down there in some time I have not had a reason to go back but I would love to at some point.
DJ. Mary: There's a lot of rumors that Pyrite Town has a place called Duel Square where trainers will battle you even if you don't want to battle. Isn't that where a lot of unscrupulous people hang out? Tell us, have you ever been forced to battle before?? What the experience like? Kevin: Ah yes I remember that area. I remember a rich boy with an abnormally large Mamoswine was picking fights with everyone who walked by. I was in town getting supplies not intending to pick a fight but he would not let me leave until I battled him. Luckily Mamoswine are also weak to fighting type moves or else I really would have been in trouble. The kid had done a good job raising it despite being rich however he did not expect a trainer to have a pair of Lucario and Garrmr made quick work of it with an Aura Sphere.
DJ. Mary: We heard that you once rescued a pair of Riolu and helped them evolved. Were they the same Lucario that helped you battle the large Mamoswine? It's even rumored that you joined the military with those same Riolu. What can you tell us about these rumors? Where are those Lucario now? Kevin: Ah Anput and Garmr, yes their original trainer abandoned them apparently not seeing the value of raising them into a Lucario. They indeed served with me and still do to this day. They are back in Orre making sure no more problems creep up there along with some of my other Pokemon I have trained over the years. I do hope they are doing well as I have not seen them in some time.
DJ. Mary: Those poor Pokemon! Thankfully, they had a kind person like you to see the potential in them. What would you say was the hardest mission or task that Anput, Garmr, and you have ever had to face? Kevin: That would be the time two former Team Aqua members tried to flood Gateon Port. The two tried to destroy the piers and flood the area. We got there just in time before they could set off a bomb and after a tough battle we were able to defeat them. The local police would have never stood a chance of stopping them. The Sharpedo and Mightyena they had were no laughing matter but luckily both were weak to fighting type moves.
DJ. Mary: What are your goals and ambitions - what do you hope to accomplish? Kevin: I wish to eliminate every evil team throughout the world as well as protect those who have done no wrong. Thankfully I have a lot less red tape than the police do when it comes to both of those goals. I also want to fully set up various Task Force Teams of both trainers and Pokemon like Anput and Garmr and hopefully Oracle someday to watch over places when I am not there. Finally I would love to win a battle against a legendary Pokemon.
DJ. Mary: I think we all wanna see a legendary Pokemon! What is your favorite Pokemon? What is your favorite type of Pokemon? Kevin: As an Aura Guardian I doubt my answer will be a surprise but Lucario is my favorite. As for favorite type I cannot say I have one though I do have a bit of a soft spot for canine Pokemon such as Lucario and Delphox.
DJ. Mary: You mentioned wanting to set up more Task Force Teams. Such a brave and noble thing to do! What other Task Forces have you helped start up and what have they managed to accomplish so far? Kevin: So far outside of Anput and Garmr I have not had much luck yet as my work is off the record. I have trained some Pokemon but their are not officially part of a team yet. I do have my eyes on a certain dragon apprentice as he has a lot of potential. I am always on the lookout for fitting trainers and Pokemon so if you know anyone who might be a good fit let me know.
DJ. Mary: We'll be sure to let you know of any fitting trainers! Hear that, everyone listening in? Call Kevin if you're up for the challenge! What are the most important traits in aspiring candidates that want to help out? Are there any specific training tips that you would offer them? Kevin: Determination and Bravery are both very important. Like the previous question knowing military tactics can help and being comfortable around powerful Pokemon is also very useful and I can certainly train recruits to get used to being around them.
DJ. Mary: There's been reports of Entei and Suicune sightings in Ecruteak running around the burned tower. What would you do if if you came face-to-face with one of these legendary dogs? Kevin: Seeing as how I would love to defeat a legendary Pokemon in a battle I would challenge them. I have no doubt it would be tough but I would love to see how strong they really are.
DJ. Mary: Goldenrod ranchers are getting ready for the Mareep Festival! The festival celebrates the wealth that Mareep's wool brings to Johto. There will be rides, beauty pageants, and even a battle tournament! Will you be participating in the Mareep Festival? Kevin: I might as well. I am all up for a celebration so long as nothing comes up that requires my attention. Speaking of which I really need to raise another Mareep one of these days as Ampharos can mega evolve and it has amazing hair.
DJ. Mary: Ah yes, we hear that Ampharos' mega-evolution is something that's quite amazing! And that hair! Who is its barber?! What do you think you would do if you came across a whole herd of mega-evolved Ampharos that were rampaging through a city and destroying everything in site? Do you think you could calm 'the beast' inside the Pokemon? Kevin: Not with the Pokemon I have on hand but with the right ones yes I think I could stop them and calm them down. It would be tough to do a multi-battle on my own against multiple mega Pokemon but not impossible. In such a situation I would hope I would have some backup just in case.
DJ. Mary: You managed to stop Team Rocket from detonating a bomb and flooding Gateon Port! Those crooks are everywhere! That must have been quite the stressful and scary experience! Please, tell us more about this experience. What would you say was the hardest part of that experience? What would you recommend an 'ordinary' trainer that wants do such heroic acts do in their normal everyday lives to be 'modern day' heroes? Kevin: It was actually former Team Aqua members but it was quite a stressful moment. They had the bomb wired to blow in an area that would have easily flooded the whole port. The hardest part was getting close enough to get their attention without giving them a reason to detonate. Anput had to walk along the pier alone to get their attention and once they took their focus off of my and Garmr we were able to get close enough to remove the detonator from their hands before they challenged us to a battle. As for the heroic trainer I would recommend not joining the IPF and instead sign up for the military or at the minimal study military tactics. Even in civilian cases some tactics can get you out of a bad situation.
DJ. Mary: Did I say Team Rocket? Silly me, I'm so used to them causing havoc here! So if you had to compare the two who would you say is worse - Team Rocket or Team Aqua? And, why would you say this? Kevin: No worries, there are so many evil teams it is hard to keep track, as for which of those two is worse I would have to say Team Rocket. Ever since word got out about their experiments with Mewtwo the other groups try to copycat with various legendaries but they had the most luck. I sure wish I knew where the Mewtwo they had escaped to as in the wrong hands it could end in disaster.
DJ. Mary: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you like to go? I hear Galar is a wonderful place to visit! What would you like to do or explore there? Kevin: I would like to see Pallet Town someday to see where Red came from as I hear he is quite the trainer. I would love to see his house in town while I was there.
DJ. Mary: Isn't Professor Oak from there, too? If you could travel back in time, where would you go? Would you try to change anything that's happened in the past or try to do anything differently? Kevin: I would love to see what Goldenrod City looked like when it was first founded. Now it is a modern city but getting to see it as it was originally could be a lot of fun. As for changing the past no I would not touch it as I believe changing past events could lead to dire consequences.
DJ. Mary: I've seen pictures of old Goldenrod! They're unbelievable! Tell us, what are you like as a person? How would you describe yourself? Kevin: I would say I am a wanderer, I like to go from place to place and not stick around too long. From being in the military I have been sent so many places that I am.used to traveling. I also like to think of myself as a guardian against evil as I do everything in my power to prevent people from causing undue harm.
DJ. Mary: What are your happiest or proudest moments in your journey so far? What were the most difficult or challenging parts? Kevin: I would have to say defeating Falkner single handedly with Oracle. Most trainers use electric or ice or rock types to win but few trainers can say they used a Lucario to win.
DJ. Mary: Fighting against Flying...interesting choice. Imagine it is over two hundred years in the future and future generations are discussing your great legacy! Tell us, what do you hope you are remembered for when it's all said and done? Kevin: I hope I am remembered for setting up the various task forces along with being a major factor in all the evil teams collapsing. A world without them would be a wonderful place.
DJ. Mary: Well, that's all the time we have for our interview! Thank you again for allowing us to take a bit of your time today, Kevin. Is there anything else you'd like to tell our listeners? Kevin: No problem at all and thank you very much. I would just like to tell them to never give up and do not join the ranks of any evil team or else I will add you to my cross hairs.

DJ Mary's Trainer Interview! This week's guest is Tristan Storm
Welcome back to the D.J. Mary Member Interview Talk Show! Has anyone ever ridden the Magnet Train? They are so fast! I barely had time to board and find my seat before we were zipping on down the tracks. And it felt like we were soaring through the skies, we were going so fast! I want you all to give a welcoming round of applause to our wonderful interviewee, Mister Tristan Storm!
DJ. Mary: I think I see him...over there by the pier! Hey there...Tristan...Tristan Storm, is it? Would you mind if I ask you some interview questions? Tristan: Yep that's me! It's an honor to partake in this experience so I'm all too happy for you to ask as few or as many questions as you'd like!
DJ. Mary: I hear you're originally from Pacifidlog Town in Hoenn. When's the last time you've visited your hometown? Tristan: That's right, I'm from the cozy little town known as Pacifidlog in the Hoenn region. My Dad, Michael, had worked in construction and maintenance but just after my thirteenth birthday he had a workplace accident and his physical capabilities were severely hindered from then on. After this Dad and my Mum, Annabelle started working at the local Contest Hall in which Dad worked as the announcer and Mum as a judge. I was always a fan of the moves and combinations used while my sister preferred the showcasing elements like dress-ups and such. I actually haven't been back to Pacifidlog since I left for the Johto region, I do plan to go back, I'd like to earn some money first and be happy with where my journey finishes before returning so that I can go home and give back to those I love the most.
DJ. Mary: So... Oh dear, I hope your father is managing well now. it's rumored that you were once attacked by a Sharpedo in your past, and barely managed to escape with your life? Would you mind opening up and telling us about this experience in your own words? Tristan: It might be a rumor but I can definitively confirm that is indeed exactly what happened. I remember that day like it was yesterday, the weather was absolutely prime, the sun was beaming and the surf was raging. I had told my twin sister Trinity that I was headed off to the outskirts of town for a deep dive session in order to check on a school of Corsola. If you didn't know, Corsola requires clean water to live and if its habitat becomes dirty, the growths on its back become discolored and degenerate. As I made my way into the depths of the water something just felt completely off, thankfully I trusted my instincts and started to make my way back to the surface, but in doing so I was rushed from an angle at blinding speed by a rampant Sharpedo. I was super lucky to only come away from the incident with my right cheek having been cut open against pillar coral on the way back to the surface, it could have ended way worse for me in all honesty and I count my lucky stars to this very day that I'm still here to share this story. I'm also thankful it happened to somebody like myself who learned how to swim and dive at a very young age and not somebody else with limited water based skills otherwise things definitely could have ended up even worse! Despite this incident I still love the water and everything about it, just like driving a car there's always a chance you may crash, the same rule applies with the water, you're swimming in other people's house, and if they don't feel like you're welcome there then they're sure to let you know and more than likely they'll do something about it.
DJ. Mary: That must have been quite the traumatic experience! You stated that originally you were checking on a school of Corsola? Were you able to learn anything about the Corsola that day, before the nasty encounter with the Sharpedo? Tristan: It surely was, honestly I think I have mostly suppressed the memories of the traumatic experience into the back of my mind, however when people recognize the scar of my cheek they more often than not can't help but be curious and ask how I ended up with it. While checking out the school of Corsola I noticed that the growths on some of their backs were discolored, a clear sign that their habitat was dirty, a distinct sign that pollution had infiltrated their habitat.
DJ. Mary: The Corsola had discolored growths on their back...poor things. Trauma can be a difficult thing to overcome... I've heard that pollution has really taken its toll on our oceans lately. Tell us, what would you do if you came across a school of sick and injured Horsea that could barely swim? Are there any ways you know of that the average traveler can better help the water environments around them? Tristan: Yeah the oceans are being treated like a waste storage with all the pollution that's been happening lately, it's extremely concerning. In the situation that you've just described it would a fairly difficult one to navigate around given Horseas' tendency to spray a dense blank ink from its mouth when it senses danger, so first and foremost would be trying to establish a sense of comfort and familiarity with the injured school of seahorse pokemon. Depending on my whereabouts I would attempt to escort the school to a more open location so that I could assess their injuries and respond according to the assessment. My best advice for travelers would be to dispose of your waste properly, because any and all loose litter can and will make its way into the beauty that is our oceans, and if we don't start to make grounds on improving soon these natural wonders will cease to be.
DJ. Mary: What is your favorite Pokemon? What is your favorite type of Pokemon? That is, if it isn't obvious... Tristan: Blastoise is my favorite pokemon, it's a phenomenal beast that can rival the best of them. As for type of pokemon that one's the easiest question I'll likely ever get, it's definitely Water type pokemon! Call me ambitious, crazy or anything in between, I plan on conquering the Johto region gym challenge and becoming the Elite Four Champion with a team of water type pokemon, I know the waters will get murky at times but just like I had done with the Corsola all those years ago I'll happily clear the waters up and show to people that there is more than meets the eye with me.
DJ. Mary: I've always heard that ancestors of Pacifidlog Town was known for originally being born on boats and lived this way because they were in search of something! Tell us, do you know what the ancestors of your great town was in search of? Have you ever tried to search for it yourself? Tristan: That's definitely nothing but truth, the stories have been passed down through generations with the stories becoming more wild and skewed with each generation. My parents have reminded me so many times over my young life how much things have changed even since they were kids. I've heard stories relating to my ancestors searching for an island that bears a single tree where the only and only Liechi Berry can be picked in the Hoenn region. I've also heard stories about a Sealed Chamber that contains the legendary titan pokemons native to the Hoenn region, its rumored to be deep under the waters of Route 134, I myself would love to one day see if that rumor is true or not!
DJ. Mary: A secret chamber where you can wake up mysterious Titan Pokemon. Amazing! And utterly terrifying! What would you do if those Titans woke up today and started rampaging all over Johto?! Tristan: Well I won't lie, my team would not be ready for such a monumental challenge such as that just yet, but we'd surely do our best to help save Johto from impending doom!
DJ. Mary: You've recently challenged the Azalea Town GYM Leader Bugsy? Care to tell us what the most difficult part of the battle for you? Were there any surprises that Bugsy's team gave you? Tristan: Bugsy's Scyther is a quick as the blink of the eye and as powerful as a sledgehammer, a combination of traits that mold it into a truly spectacular beast of a Pokemon. The most surprising part of the battle for me was witnessing firsthand the well thought out and executed strategy by Bugsy to utilize his Scyther's U-Turn attack to deal some damage and then preserve the green mantis pokemon for further into the battle, the two chrysalis pokemon that stood the brunt of my team's offense were no slouches either as their move-sets showcased how effective Bugsy's training is.
DJ. Mary: I've always heard you shouldn't sleep on Bugsy's bugs! What are your goals and ambitions - what do you hope to accomplish? Tristan: My biggest goal in life is to make my family proud. There isn't a great deal of people in the history of Pacifidlog Town that have left the place and left a mark on the world outside so I would like to inspire the next generation of upcoming trainers to follow their dreams and truly believe that they can achieve whatever they want to, it just might take some time and effort to get to where you want to go.
DJ. Mary: You mentioned wanting to inspire other trainers from Pacifidlog Town to follow their dreams. I think that's quite noble of you - paving a path forward with your own footsteps and such. Do you have any other hobbies or things that you're very passionate about and would like to tell the world? Tristan: I do have a soft spot for clothing, one day when my it comes time to call it a day on my Pokemon journey I would like to establish my own clothing line!
DJ. Mary: A man with a sense of fashion. We love that! So, in your opinion... what's better? Suede or leather? What would be a huge fashion 'no-no' to you that you see people make everyday? Tristan: Honestly I'm a fence sitter on that one, both work depending on the occasion. As for the second part to that question, I don't really have any specifically glaring 'no-no's' to air.
DJ. Mary: There's been reports of Kyogre sightings near the Whirl Islands! What would you do if Kyogre leaped out of the ocean and challenged you to a battle? Tristan: Honestly that would be a dream come true, I'd likely pass out in excitement to be quite frank. I don't know if my team of water types is ready for such a massive challenge, but one day if I were lucky enough to encounter the legendary beast I want to make sure my team is in with a fighting chance.
DJ. Mary: Well, I'd probably pass out from fear... We heard that Fortree City is getting ready for their Feather Carnival! It's a fun event that celebrates Flying-type Pokemon and has lots of carnival games to play! Have you ever participated in the Feather Carnival? What are the best carnival games to play? Tristan: Truthfully I've heard of the Feather Carnival, it sounds like quite the fun experience, however I haven't had the opportunity to participate in it, one day I definitely will though that's a certainty! As random as it may sound I feel like apple bobbing would be a go to game for me to play, the experience in and around water and having to hold and control my breathing would hopefully work in my favor.
DJ. Mary: I love the game where you try to catch the flying Ducklett, personally... If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you like to go? What would you like to do or explore there? Tristan: I would love to visit Humilau City in the Unova region! I've heard only good words be spoken about Marlon the water type specialist Gym Leader, maybe one day I might be able to convince the Hoenn Pokemon League to sanction a gym in Pacifidlog so meeting Marlon and having the opportunity to witness firsthand how he handles things would be incredible.
DJ. Mary: What are your happiest or proudest moments in your journey so far? Beyond your research with the Corsola. What were the most difficult or challenging parts? Tristan: My journey is very much still young, I don't have a singular happy or proud moment but multiples of those, each and everything my team of Pokemon does is an achievement worth celebrating. As for the most challenging, that's definitely the Gym challenge against Bugsy so far, no doubt about that.
DJ. Mary: Tell us, what are you like as a person? Just a fashionista living the dream, hmm? How would you describe yourself? Tristan: I'm a fun loving guy who is all about respect, helping others is a passion of mine and when I set my mind to something I feel like I'm not scared of the hard work that comes with it.
DJ. Mary: If you could travel back in time, where would you go? Would you try to change anything that's happened in the past or try to do anything differently? Tristan: Honestly as weird as it may sound I'd like to be a fly on the wall watching Arceus shape the Pokemon universe. It also might sound cliché but I wouldn't change anything at all if given the opportunity, everything happens for a reason.
DJ. Mary: I'd probably go back in time to see what my best friend did with my jacket... Imagine it is over two hundred years in the future and future generations are discussing your great legacy! Tell us, what do you hope you are remembered for when it's all said and done? Tristan: Now wouldn't that be cool! I would hope to be remembered as the kid who stayed true to who he was and his roots and grew into a well respected individual wherever he went.
DJ. Mary: A pure hearted soul through and through! Well, that's all the time we have for our interview! Thank you again for allowing us to take a bit of your time today, Tristan. Is there anything else you'd like to tell our listeners? Tristan: Thank-you so much for providing me with the opportunity to partake in this interview, it's been an absolute blast! If I could leave the listeners with a parting message it would be to stay true to yourself and believe in your dreams, they'll no doubt take some work to achieve, but anything worth having is worth fighting for!
