Safari Zone Despite being recently opened to the public Johto's premier Safari Zone has gained renown from all over the globe as one of the greatest places to see exotic Pokemon from nearly every region. Allowing safari goers to not only see these Pokemon, they are offered the chance to capture as many Pokemon as they can find so long as they have the courage to hunt wild animals and money to finance a trip. "A humble welcome traveler, the name's Baoba. I run this here Safari Zone and I'd like to just clue you in on how this attraction works. I'll also from time to time set out challenges for trainers to catch me a certain species of Pokemon out in the zones but that's me jumping the gun, shucks."Before undergoing a safari tour there are a number of etiquettes to keep in mind: - We prohibit the use of Pokemon as to not agitate the wildlife, thus upon entering the Safari the attendant will take your party and keep them safe while you travel through our various ecosystems. As such, word counts and EXP cannot be gained in the Safari Zone.
- You will be provided with Rocks and Bait to affect the capture and flee rates of the pokémon you encounter. To capture pokémon you must purchase Safari Balls at the counter before entering.
- You may not use any items from your inventory except the following berries: Nanab, Pinap, and Razz. Refer to the Berry Guide for their Safari effects.
- You may leave at any time, but you cannot keep any leftover balls. Your visit is limited to 10 total encounters.
- You may start in any area, but you have to progress through each area as shown by the zone map below.
- Whatever you catch, you keep!
- Finally, to conserve the population of those found in the wild, we ask that you wait a week before returning.
"To begin, purchase your Safari Balls (£100 per ball) and a member of staff will authorize your entry by taking payment. They are sold in sets of 5 up to a maximum of 30 total balls. You may only buy Safari balls at the entrance, so once you're out you may not buy any more for that visit.
Once payment has been processed you may start a topic and enjoy the thrill of the hunt!"Safari Zone system credit to Tygress. Credit also goes to Alex, Joey & latani for finalizing and refinement. Further thanks to Morrigan, Sarai & Umbreon for support and ideas.

Safari Zone 101
"Howdy y'all! I'm Ranger Tim and I'm gonna be here today to explains the ins and outs of how to maximize the most outta your bonzer safari expeditions. The first thing I'm here today to talk about is about rocks. Y'know, those pebbly things on the ground there. As you're prohibited from using yeh pocket monsters, this is gonna be your tried and true friend of weakening a Pokemon. Simply pick one up and lob it, you'll be happy as Larry. Just keep in mind that the more rocks you throw, chances are, the more likely the 'Mon'll decide to flee. Which brings me to my next point. Bait. This is gonna be your second best mate. If ya worried about them critters runnin' off leavin' ya to eat the dust, then just throw a bait and watch as they hang around longer to chomp it down. Only problem is, they become a lot harder to catch. One for the jackaroos who like a challenge. And while I'm at it, take a gander of this map of the zones. Keep this layout in mind and ya won't get lost, fair dinkum! And no cutting! You may only travel to adjacent areas. Anyways, I'm off, I just got a report of someone being torn to shreds by a Rhyhorn stampede. Keep safe safari-goers! Toodles!"

[/li][li]You may progress through any zone but you must first venture through each area to progress, you can surmise the layout via each individual area guide. [/quote] this has me confused. can you clarify the following: 1) which zone do you start in the map? 2) do you have to explore each area and have an encounter before finding a niche to stay for the rest of the 10 encounters? I know that I am hardly out in Cianwood. But hey, maybe other people are not sure about this too.

Well, hrm, we didn't have any set area to start exploration in, but the Savannah is in the center of my very crudely done map (dear god coding that was irritating.. simple code but shfjsdfbsdfj) so it's probably best to start there; you have three areas to venture to from that spot.
As for the second one, nothing in the guide says you must have an encounter in every area you visit. 10 encounters applies to whatever area you visit and you ask mods to generate encounters for you. If I went to the Desert and said I was waiting for Pokémon, I'd get an encounter, and my total encounters would increase. If I traveled to the Forest and made my way to the Mountain, I would simply write I was passing through the Forest and this would ensure no encounters are given.

Your map wasn't crude. I believe I just can't see the safari zone entrance on the map in my earlier post lol. (like i can't visualize the entrance if you didn't say so. I also had look at the map like it could start anywhere lol.)
anyways, thanks for your reply. everything is suicune crystal clear now

Since the festival is over and it will likely take me some time to hit the next recruit milestone I would like to buy 30 Safari Balls and try my luck in the Safari again.
