Tobias' efforts in Johto were finally picking up. It had been a slow start off with the confounding blizzard that has gripped the earlier towns of the region while not to mention how slow it was gathering information on the Rockets. Had it not been for that actual Rocket grunt by the name of Sharada, he would have likely still been snooping around Violet looking for a trail to pick up on. Thankfully, with Sharada's guidance in mind, he now had an affirmable goal to follow. It appeared that the way Rockets did things around here was to first beat a gym leader and gain their badge and then track down a recruiter in the seedier side of Violet. Having trained up for the challenge to ensure absolute domination, Tobias was content that they had a strong enough chance of winning. Others in his situation may have been beaming with confidence but he had a funny way of showing it. He acted as emotionless and dull as per usual but there was no denying in the way he carried himself that he considered himself superior.
"This is it Prometheus." He murmured as the eye patch wearing male stared up at the towering gym before him. Before, he had viewed it from the inside of the cafe opposite but now, standing before it, he had a small shift in his stance on the building. His first reflection of the building had been one of disdain. It was nothing more than an ugly blight and a hollow symbolisation of these stupid gym challenges that trainers dedicated themselves too. But now that he himself was standing in front of it, it now had another significance. It would be where he would get official representation that he was more than capable of rubbing shoulders along the lowest of the low in Team Rocket. This would be the first stepping stone of many in acquiring power for himself in the criminal organisation. "Failure is not an option." His emotionless, cold, staring eyes seemed to back up his words. "Should what this Sharada grunt have said be true then we shouldn't be too long in here."
His head lowering to look in front of him, he stared at the sliding doors in front of him. Slightly reflecting the immediacy in front of them, he stared at his own reflection before stepping forward, the reflection destroyed as they parted. Moving forward the entrance corridor, he made it into what was seemingly the gym itself. "As I had thought. The official gym itself is not restricted to the ground. But up there." Looking up, he noticed the large supports towering up to what seemed the sky above. Problematically, they stretched up so high above it was almost impossible to see where they stopped. "It should be unfortunate should our opponent take a nasty fall." Murmured Tobias again. Hearing his trainers pontificating, Prometheus made an audible laugh filled with malice and plotting. Scanning around the room some more, Tobias eventually found an elevator and boarded it up. With time itself dragging on, it seemed like an age before he finally made it to the top.
Stepping off and onto the gym floor as he had surmised, he called out with a stern tone to his voice. "Gym leader, I have come to acquire your badge. Show yourself." Looking around, he couldn't quite seem him but was certain he was around. Otherwise, why would the gym be open?

Opening his eyes at the sound of his Gym doors below creeping open, it seemed as though yet another trainer had turned up to challenge the first Gym leader of Johto for the chance to obtain the Zephyr Badge. He sure had been having quite a number of these visitors lately and as usual, meaning a large number of losses. It wasn't that he didn't like doing what he did, it was just that he had to fight with the Pokemon his father had forcibly passed down to him. Having to spend every waking hour within the Gym walls often meant he couldn't train up his feathered friends as much as he could. That and maybe he did just wish he could be like any normal teenager and go out traveling by himself without all these responsibilities weighing on his mind.
With a shrug of his shoulders, Falkner began to travel along the wooden beam leading to his spot across the battlefield, waiting patiently for his challenger to be hoisted up into the mid air stadium floor by the mechanical device his father had installed many moons ago. It sure did add to the flying type theme, however and the glass roof was easier to show off if they battled as high as they could. Expecting a young, arrogant boy or something along those lines, Falkner was taken aback at the sight before him, as a fully grown male stepped forward onto the Gym floor. Interesting, his challenger wasn't anything along the lines of eye candy he could stare at for a bit, but perhaps this could be a promising battle. Standing at his post, the light from the open roof shone down onto the male's dark blue hair, his hands resting on the hips of his custom made yukata.
"Welcome to my Gym, challenger!" His adolescent voice called out from the other side of the area, surely being enough to draw forward Tobias' attention. "My name is Falkner and I am the Gym Leader here!" Outstretching his arms as if to tell Tobias to take a look around, for a boy who hated being here he sure seemed like he wanted to show the Gym off. "What do you think of the innards of this Gym? Just as majestic as the outside appearance, correct? Being all the way up here suggests what it could be like for flying types who soar so effortlessly through the air." Dropping his arms back down to his sides, Falkner reached for a Pokeball, tossing it forward to release what only could be described as a common Pidgey. "You may order your attack first, challenger."
Gym Leader Falkner has accepted your challenge! Falkner starts things off by sending forth Pidgey (Level 10) to battle!

With a dull expression chiselled onto Tobias' stormy exterior, the male seemed largely uninterested in the teenager's introduction and showing off of his gym. He wasn't here to ingratiate himself in a social meet up to obtain this badge. He was going to absolute thrash this feeble challenge and secure his place. "Yes, yes... If you were not the gym leader I doubt you would be sitting here around by yourself." About to let out a disdainful sigh, Tobias leered his eye at the mention of the gym's interior. Considering how loathing he had been of the supposedly 'wonderful' architecture outside then it was less likely he'd be as favourable of the inside. "I care little for talk of trivialities. You do know the reason as to why I am here do you not?" Sneering his face up a little, he realised he might have to spell it out for this drippy teenager. "I am here to prove my worth and defeat you." Extending out an arm for Prometheus to clamber off of, he finished his words. "Nothing more, nothing less." Although ready to fight, a sudden burst from a Pokeball on Tobias' possession showed him up completely.
"Grargh... Of all the insolence." Looking down, it appeared that one of his Pokemon had stepped forward of their own voluntarily. With the light from the device dying down, the Pokemon's sparkly coat made Tobias aware of whom had stepped out of line. He didn't know of the Pokemon's feelings deep down but he was not using him in this battle. "You. Return." Recalling it back before it could suffer any damage, Tobias had a much better choice in mind for the first battle. Duster however was confused, all this time it had been under the impression that it had to do its own share of work as a member of his team, to pull his own weight. But the fact he had been pulled back here... It confused the Zigzagoon for sure. Not one to argue, Duster remained inside the Pokeball and pondered what was going on in Tobias' mind. In truth, Tobias was keen to use Prometheus. For once they could engage in a battle in the warmth of indoors, as opposed to the harsh coldness of outside. At least now Prometheus could earn his own share now that Tobias wouldn't have to worry about falling prey to the cold. As the monkey slid off his arm with a swing and onto the battle in front of them, it was was secretly cursing under its breath.
Duster had meant it now had to take on an extra attack head on but for the wily monkey, it wasn't too big of a deal. Having listened to Sharada's advice prior to the battle, it knew these birds weren't of much notable threat. Listening out for Tobias' order, the Pansear didn't have to wait too long. "Prometheus. Tickle the opponent." Given his choice of orders, it must have been an incredibly odd sight for someone as stern as Tobias to say an attack like tickle. Nevertheless, Prometheus responded with a mischievous smirk as it lifted its hands and tickled its fingers around in a show off manner. All the while the battle raged on, Tobias seemed deep in thought. "What that Rocket had said is true. Can such a gym leader really exist using such banal Pokemon?!"
Summary:
Duster sent in, swapped out straight away and Prometheus used Tickle.

Falkner's enthusiasm, possibly all of it, had faded in moments after Robias spoke. Ah, so this guy...he was just a jackass, right? One of those people who had little interest in anything besides making things better for himself? Falkner wondered how someone like got around in the world, how someone like that could go on....existing so easily. His attitude almost reminded him of a...no, he couldn't have been. Nonetheless, a challenge was a challenge, and a challenge he had been issued. "Well geez buddy if you didn't like the place all you had to do was walk out. But now you're here, so let's get this thing started." He turned to Pidgey and nodded to him. Pidgey seemed to understand, because that was just the kind of bond the two had. Pidgey crooned in warning to Prometheus, because it wasn't about to go easy on the monkey. "Training takes bonds I'm not quite sure you have yet.... Pidgey, show him what I mean and kick things off with a Sand-Attack!" Pidgey was quick to oblige and whipped up a small storm of dust, shooting it into Prometheus's eyes. The Monkey staggered backwards. With both close to the edge of the high platform, he went over, but used his tail to catch onto the edge, crawling under the platform using the subtle wickerwork underneath. Before Pidgey had a chance to see him, he came up on the other side, leaping out and tackling Pidgey to the ground. Before the Pidgey could even try to get him off, the Monkey began tickling him, causing the Pidgey to fidget and let out a raspy caw that could only be described as laughing. "Ah...starting off with something like that eh? Pidgey, use a Gust!" Pidgey shot back into the air, knocking Prometheus off of it. It whipped up a gust storm. Prometheus did his best to hold his ground, and was only pushed back a little by the wind. ____________________________________________________ Hey, Hey, it's Pansear VS. Pidgey! Not one to show the slightest hint of emotion, Tobias felt almost tempted to smirk as he saw how quickly his repellent personality had ripped the wind out of the sails of Falkner's fickle enthusiasm. Opening his mouth to reply back to him, he retorted back with a cold and unemotional tone. "If it were so easy do you believe I would waste coming to this dump? This is strictly out of business and not because I enjoyed lowering myself to such a standard." His one remaining eye now leering provokingly, he was somewhat disdainful of how highly the gym leader thought of himself. "I shall be walking out of here the moment I quash your Pidgey and Pidgeotto." Finishing with a venomous sneer, he cared little if Falkner was aware he had done some homework on what team he would be using. Then again, given the types of trainer he had viewed going in when he was observing it at the coffee house, it seemed that it would be a genuine change from the short wearing youngsters and meek little lasses.
Distracted from his thoughts, Tobias was somewhat peeved by Falkner's seemingly poor taste in trying to make a pot shot at him. Tilting his head backwards to look at Falkner with an unnerving scrutiny, the male seemed despondent to such words. "Bonds? BONDS? To be expected of someone such as you. The only bond I require is this." Holding out a Pokeball in his hand, he gripped it before pocketing it. "The bond of ownership that a Pokeball presents over his slaves. That is all I desire." With his right hand now in his pocket and a small grip of his left hand around his chin, he seemed to be examining the battle fully. Watching as the bird flapped up a cloud of dirt at Prometheus, he seemed largely disinterested; not even bothering to call out and support his Pokemon with enthusiastic cheer. Instead he watched as his invaluable partner lost his sight and went tumbling over the edge. To any other trainer, they would have been in a frenzied state over the danger their Pokemon was in.
But not Tobias.
Whether he was uncaring that his Pokemon had fallen to the seemingly bottomless pit of the gym or had as was unfolding with him clambering under the wickerwork of the heightened gym floor was impossible to say but he merely stared Falkner down with his uncomfortably cold eye. Like a boring drill, it effortlessly dug away at Falkner. With nothing unfolding in the battle itself, Tobias went to his inside pocket and pulled out a lighter and a pack of cigarettes. Placing it in his mouth, it took him a few failed attempts before he finally got his lighter to ignite. Considering how much he had come to rely on Prometheus to light up his smokes, it was evident in their own little way that he had developed a form of bond other than the one he had described to Falkner. As he let out a puff of smoke, Prometheus came flying out from the other side and grappled the foe in a tickling lock.
"Your inexperience shows." Murmured Tobias as he let out another obnoxious puff of smoke. A hand grasping over the lower part of his chin, he continued smoking as Prometheus was finally shrugged off but having carried out his order flawlessly. Much to his chagrin, Falkner was quick to order another attack and ordered his Pokemon to kick up a fearsome gust of wind in their direction. Angrily watching as his cigarette went flying out of his mouth and onto the vast black expanse below, Tobias was now livid. That pathetic, scrawny teenager had just made this personal. "Prometheus. Covet."

Falkner was indeed bewildered by this challenger. Hoping for a polite gentleman who had most likely been through the wars of life judging from his eye patch and now turned to the life of quietly traveling, he appeared to be sorely mistaken. Instead, what stood in front of him was nothing more than a rude and spineless individual, heaven knows what he so desperately needed his badge for. Still, he needed to remain calm. He was a Gym Leader and needed to remain a positive figurehead for both the city and the Gym itself. Releasing a cough from behind his fist, the male lowered his hand from his face. "My many apologies if you feel this building is distasteful. My father and most likely his father before him built the structure, however we recently modernised it with that elevator... Hmm. I wouldn't consider 'dump' being an appropriate description for such a fine architecture. It holds so much history..." Trailing off, he knew fully well that this man wouldn't give a Pansear's bottom about how he felt. Sighing, for now all he could do was remain silent and bare with him a bit longer.
Or so he hoped. The next words which leaked from Tobias' lips were enough to pop a blood vessel for Falkner. There were days in which he detested being a Gym Leader but never once had he blamed his Pokemon. He treated them with the utmost respect yet this fool of a human classed them as mere servants! The idea of keeping a calm posture long since thrown out the window, Falkner was now glaring with a clenched fist. "Slaves?! How very dare you! I should have every right to kick you out of here badge-less!" Biting off, the key word to his sentence being 'should'. He couldn't kick Tobias out, he was a challenger just like other who waltzed in. For all he knew, this could all be a trick to distract the leader or maybe he was just genuinely a vile man. Looking even more enraged as he dared light a cigarette in the Gym walls, Falkner was quite clearly about to blow. "PI-DGEY! Dont you fail me now!" His Pokemon, too, had heard the words of Tobias. Eyes glaring at the monkey who seemed little bothered about being classed as a slave or a tool. Cooing out as if trying to reason with the monkey, it seemed little use as his master had already ordered his next move. Blunt and agitated, the loss of his cigarette had obviously angered him to no end.
Not even having a chance to call out to his Pidgey, the slippery monkey used it's speed to get right up close with the avian. For a moment, he seemed to pause, as if teasing the bird with an understanding gaze. As if begging for a little bit of sympathy for having such a harsh trainer, Falkner's Pidgey was easy to convince, cooing in return. Only, things were about to get nasty. His dopey grin returning once more, Prometheus knew he held no item but he was open for a good bashing. Jumping up and pinning the bird to the ground, the little fiery monkey began unleashing numerous punches and kicks, a particular one to the gut emitting a crack as it rolled back towards Falkner's feet. Hands shaking in a mixture of anger for Tobias and worry for his Pidgey, the blue haired male was quick to withdraw, sending a gaze right to the one eyed man. "I dont know who you think you are or what you plan on doing but it must be something... You even knew about my second Pokemon... Tsk, something isnt right here." His words being nothing more than a audible mutter meant for his own ears, Falkner withdrew his first Pokemon and picked the ball of his second. "Pidgeotto!" He called, tossing it forward and revealing a much bigger bird.

Turning his nose up at his statement concerning his father and his father's construction of the gym, Tobias didn't seem the least bit impressed. "Well they not only did a tasteless job but a shoddy one at that." Glaring, he was pretty sure this wouldn't withstand a few expert level attacks. Too bad they were restricted to using such entry level fair for engaging in battle at this point of the game. Opening his mouth again, Tobias shot out another snide comment. "The only history that will matter inside of this dump is that I will have made my first step in attaining my goal. I'll be sure to leave you a mere footnote when i'm detailing my rise." Knowing his comments would goad Falkner into losing his cool, what he received next was exactly what Tobias had planned for. "I had you figured to be a bleeding heart type." Shaking his head with a scowl over his face, Tobias retorted further. "You'd go so far to deny a challenger? To deny them of their right of a badge?"
Sneering, Tobias wasn't going to be stopped here. Instead, he was going to play on the gym leader's inexperience. "I'm sure the authorities wouldn't be all too pleased to hear you turned away a hopeful challenger. Don't be stupid." Making a gruff mumble, Tobias had a better idea. "I have a better idea anyway. Something that i'm sure even you will come round to." Leering his eye a little, Tobias moved in to ensnare the gym leader's curiosity. "If my enslaved Pokemon are so irrefutably in the wrong... Why don't you stake a badge on the line as a bet. Should you lose, I claim the badge as my winnings. But if I fail..." He fell silent, assessing what would possibly interest the gym leader into a pitfall. "I will hand over all of my Pokemon and quit my career as a trainer." Not waiting for an answer, he instead focused as Prometheus went leaping forward and fooling the naive Pidgey into a trap. With the bird easing up, Tobias seemed impressed with his Pokemon's sudden turn of trickery. Unleashing a savage amount of blows, it appeared the Pokemon was done for.
As Prometheus retreated back to Tobias, the tall criminal hardly responded in praise. Instead, his body remained firm as Prometheus clambered up his back to sit back onto his shoulder. Shrugging off what Falkner was getting at with his pondering, Tobias instead bought up his bet from earlier. "Come now. Are you not forgetting our bet? You're one Pokemon down but surely a righteous and caring trainer such as yourself will prevail in the end? Hmph." Mocking him with every word uttered, Tobias knew he was about to go in for the kill. Acting unsurprised at the sight of a Pidgeotto appearing out on the battlefield, Tobias moved in to his own substitute. Grabbing a Pokeball from the inside of his jacket, he was about to announce the name of his chosen fighter when that annoying little interruption proceeded yet once more... Looking down, Tobias was filled with unbridled rage at the sight of Duster barging in to fight. "You... Stupid... Incompetent... Vermin. Do you not understand? You were not part of the plan!" Snickering Prometheus looked at Duster's terrified expression.
Using his tail to wrap around Tobias' arm, Prometheus swung downwards and moved over to where Duster stood. Giving him a reassuring pat on his shoulders, the influential Pansear spoke endlessly as if imparting something to the Zigzagoon. Whatever it was the monkey had said, it had done the trick. "Thanks Prome... You really know how to cheer up a fella when he's down. All this time I felt I had to fight for my share. For my keep. I can't imagine anything worse than being kicked out on my own to live in the wild once more. I want nothing more than a roof over my head and knowing where the next meal's coming from. If ya say that grouchy type has a grand scheme in mind for us all, then i'm sure that's why i'm still here. I'll stop buttin' in until i'm called for." Nodding, Duster returned to Tobias' side, not even caring that Tobias was significantly close to unleashing all hell on the elusive Pokemon. Somewhat soothed that his Pokemon had been bought in line so quickly, Tobias cleared his throat and went back to ordering his part of the round. "I call upon Blathers." Letting the Pokeball open up in the palm of his hand, the lunatic owl appeared soon after.
Fluttering around with absolute madness laced on the circles around his eyes, Tobias wasted no time in ordering. "Blathers. Uproar." Only just realising he was using a Flying type against Flying type, Tobias remained expressionless but murmured in his head. "I'll outdo this fool at his own game."
OOC: Hooray for experimental colours. I wasn't sure if I wanted to give Tobias and his lot colours but after having Duster speak to convey his thoughts, i'm not so sure now... 1d1d1d

"A bet?" Falkner asked. This man filled him with such disgust, such anger, it was hard to keep his normal calm and cool. What he wanted to do, was deck this guy, but that was going to get him into much, much more trouble than it was worth. Shaking his head, he sent a sharp glare at Tobias, looking back at Pidgeotto soon after. "Are you really that cruel, that you would just send your Pokemon away on a bet? A bet, which you could very well lose if you weren't careful enough?" Falkner half-snapped, crossing his arms together, a disappointed air about him. If Prometheus had been as nervous as his brother Atlas was, it probably would have made him flinch. "But if that's what you'd like, whatever. I couldn't care less, I just hope that one day, of of this talk of conquest comes back to you and bites you in the ass." As Duster sent himself out and Tobias reprimanded him, Falkner's scowl grew deeper. He couldn't bare to look at the defeated looking Zigzagoon. It reminded him to much of all the disappointments in the life that certain Pokemon belonging to this man must have suffered. "You may think that you've got control over these Pokemon, but they can just as easily turn the whip around on you." Falkner reminded Tobias as he finally regained his will not to turn this into a fist fight. Pidgeotto watched Prometheus in disgust. This Monkey, he must have been the closest to this man. Already, the bird didn't like him. He looked almost conniving, like he was conning the raccoon he was apparently consoling. Unfortunately, it seemed the tiny multicolor creature was foolish enough to listen, and once again, this man somehow seemed to win the trust of his Pokemon. How sad. When it saw its opponent was another bird, well, Pidgeotto was almost disappointed. He had wanted to knock around that monkey a good time or two. "We're going to show you who's going to be whose footnote!" Falkner growled as Pidgeotto readied himself for battle. With a great cry, he flung himself into the air, and with his stubby wings, he knew Blathers couldn't make it quite as high. Though, at least Blathers could make it pretty high. He flapped his tiny wings in order to keep up with the other bird's much larger wingspan. "Now give him a Gust he won't forget, and make sure you get it in twice for that Zigzagoon too!" With a sharp stop, the Pidgeotto began to hover in the air, flapping his wings violently until a sharp gust kicked up. Blathers was caught in the middle of the Tornado, and then slammed with another which brought him crumbling down the to the ground, the second Gust doing damage that was much worse than the first. "Now do you see what true rage can do?" Falkner questioned, his voice almost a whisper on the settling wind, even after shouting. Though, Blathers wasn't done. As the Pidgey landed, he released a momentous sound wave of an uproar to disgrace its ear canals...where ever the ears on these birds even were. _____________________________________________________ Hey, Hey, it's Hoothoot VS.Pidgeotto! Keeping his eye laced with a steady sardonic glare, Tobias had the faintest hint of a smirk cross over his lips at Falkner's mention of his bet. "Hmph. Don't try to apply your subjective views on morality and rights and wrongs upon my own. We walk different paths you and I." Letting the cigarette hang from his mouth half heartedly but just enough for him to draw in the dregs, he continued on. "I wouldn't harp your optimism too much either. I fail to see how a team of six would be vanquished by a paltry team of two flying rats. I've done my homework. I know your strengths, weaknesses, your very tactics." Holding the cigarette out of his mouth, he let out a stream of smoke as he concluded. "I think you'll find karma will have to give me its all if it ever wants to try and come and 'bite me in the ass'." Watching as the teenage gym leader folded his arms with a furious motion, Tobias shook his head.
"A well forged tool will never turn on its wielder. Unless of course, you speak from experience. The stench of inexperience and weak willed authority wreak from you." Having not moved his glare an inch off of Falkner's body, it was somewhat unnerving. It was only when both of their choices started to stare one another down did Tobias break his connection with Falkner. Aware that the Pidgeotto had wanted to get at Prometheus, he turned his head slightly as the monkey rested on Tobias shoulder. With a fold of his arm to prop his head up, the rather bored looking monkey lifted up his spare left hand and gave Falkner and his Pokemon the bird in an almost ironic way. Listening to Falkner as he retaliated after the footnote comment, Tobias raised his voice. "I hardly think someone who's loss record dwarves their wins is credible enough to say that. As I said, I have done my homework. Oh how precious a win would be, hm? I bet you can't even remember what the last one was like. I do commend you if you're trying to write a history book on the art of unbroken losses though. That will be the only way I will be a footnote in your record of events." Hopefully pushing him further and further to slip up, Tobias was a little shirked to see his opponent had got a fair amount of damage in.
Blathers on the other hand wasn't a sitting duck. Retaliating back with his Uproar, Tobias assessed the situation and still remained confident. They were on a level pegging, if not Blathers the better fighter despite his rotund, ungraceful flying. "Blathers. Repeat another Uproar. Drive the flying rat to the pits of despair." Hopping forward back into flight, the Hoothoot seemed to twitch its eyes before letting off another ear splitting assault of noise.

Falkner was facing some real troubles with this grown man, his angered expression looming underneath his protruding blue hairstyle. His views and malicious tongue were really getting the better of the young teenager, bringing out his more aggravated side. All he could do was ponder on why there were such evil and disgusting men in this world. From the way he spoke, Falkner almost put two and two together, guessing that Tobias was a pathetic Rocket. But at the same time, he showed no signs of that dangerous capital red R so shrugged him off as just a nasty piece of work, for now. Learning by now that Tobias most certainly did have a bit of outside help, the young gym leader merely smirked. "I find it amusing that you needed to question other trainers or the locals about me. Perhaps you were worried that you weren't quite up to the plate? Psch, you are no man." Waving his hand in the air as if wanting to shoo him away, he checked over to see how Pidgeotto was fairing. Only to be slightly disappointed at just how strong Uproar had been.
Although his arms were folded, Falkner couldnt help but clench his hands into a pair of fists as Tobias continued to talk. Flinching at the rather rude reaction from fiery monkey, the male couldnt quite believe his eyes. What sort of trainer would teach their Pokemon to act in such a rude way?! Looking as if he was about to pop a blood vessel or several, things only became worse as Tobias pushed his finger into the wound that bit more. Swirling it around some at the same time. "T-Tsk... For your information, I did win recently." He muttered rather pathetically, not quite being able to look the male straight in the eyes. Right now, his pride and confidence was crumbling apart. If only his father would have been here to face such a grumpy opponent, if only he could have the normal life of an everyday teenager... Any remote feelings of anger had long since fluttered off, his once equally as acidic tongue drying up. This was ridiculous, how could such a man bring a Gym Leader down to such a pathetic level.
Unfortunately these feelings were rubbing off on Pidgeotto, too. Both itself and Pidgey always tried their very best to defend Falkner's honour but once again, he was left flailing in the dust. Circling around the Hoothoot, it didn't care anymore. It was just going to dive bomb with an attack if Falkner liked it or not! There was no way a challenger was going to disrespect both the gym and his trainer whilst he was out in the field. Only, this rash action cost the avian dearly. Already powered up due to the last turn, Blathers was in full throttle. Squawking out utter chaos, Pidgeotto couldn't keep itself up in flight anymore and as it fell to the gym floor, was well and truly demolished by the frantic attacks and noise of Blathers. Almost teary eyed, Falkner outstretched an arm as his Pidgeotto was viciously beaten. Once again he had lost but this wasn't just the loss of a badge, his entire reputation and emotion had also fallen into the gutter.
Now became the most sickening moment of all as he solemnly withdrew his partner, whispering to the ball inaudibly. "You have won challenger, even if it makes me sick to the pit of my stomach to say it." Usually he would greet the person for their win but this time, he wasn't going to bother. With a frantic clap of his hands, a pair of cooing Pidgey began to flutter down with a tray handle in each claw, presenting it on the floor to Tobias before flying off swiftly. "There are your winnings... Now get the hell out of my Gym and my city whilst you are at it." Folding his arms, he glared straight ahead, "If I catch you in these streets again I will make sure to it that you receive the punishment you deserve. Most likely in the form of a cold jail cell." With a flick of his hair, the male turned swiftly and began waltzing away, perhaps to heal his Pokemon. "Now. GET OUT."

Undeterred by Falkner's back and forth sway of his hands, Tobias responded to his rebuttal. "Not up to the plate? Oh how wrong could you be. It allowed me to step beyond the plate. To the very top of the cupboard!" Placing one hand into his jacket pocket, he stretched out his right with an open hand before clenching it shut abruptly as he finished what he had been saying. "Knowledge IS power." Although Tobias had decided to train his Pokemon up for the occasion and was always on the look out for a Pokemon with considerable strengths, he was cemented to the fact that knowledge was the be all and end all. Through the power of knowing, anything could be bought about and given how his battle with Falkner was faring, it stood to be nothing more than a testament to his beliefs. To add even more insult to injury, Tobias had selected a Flying type Pokemon in order to prove his superiority to the supposed elegant master of bird Pokemon.
Withdrawing his eye from Falkner, Tobias' attention was drawn to his Pokemon rather forcibly by the sudden uproar it had demonstrated. Noticing that the raucous outburst had been just enough to conquer the Pidgeotto, he finished the remainder of the cigarette in his mouth before dumping it down on the floor and stomping it out with his stylish black shoes. "As I had predicted. Your outcome for success wasn't even possible to calculate due to how low it was. Gathering information about your foe doesn't seem too bad an idea now, does it? Unfortunately by the time you fully understand of my motives and person, it will be too late." Stepping forward as Falkner ruefully acknowledged his victory, the tall male stopped as Falkner clapped his hands. Expecting a trap, Prometheus tensed up just as Tobias went to reach for his gun. It wouldn't have done much as it was without ammo but it was worth a shot at bluffing. Surprisingly, it turned out Falkner was too lazy to give it to him directly. Not bothering to bring it up, Tobias merely shot him a glare that unmistakeably summed up Tobias' thoughts. "Really?"
Observing that all the standard winnings of a gym match were before him, Prometheus raised a hand and clicked his fingers to summon Prometheus. "Prometheus, collect." Letting out a chimp of accepting, the monkey leapt off onto the floor and with a frenzied swipe of all the loot, returned back to Tobias and handed them up to him. Watching as Falkner walked off, Tobias shook his head and spoke out. "No jail cell would hold me. None more than a cold jail cell." His face turned into that of a disgruntled thought at the idea of the cold, he proceeded to collect his earnings. "Money..." Stuffing it into his coat pocket, he found it somewhat ironic that money earnt from such an honest source would end up being used for much sinister uses. "A TM." Picking up and looking at the disc, he pulled a rather bored expression, not quite certain on what he could use this on. "And what we came here for. The badge." Standing up now straight, he fumbled with the badge and placed it on his jacket lapel. "Excellent. We are on sch-" Noticing that a sudden burst of light had exploded in the room, Tobias turned to observe.
Where Blathers had been standing was now a swirling array of lights that grew brighter and brighter until they exploded, dying down almost instantaneously as a new much larger form of owl stood before both Tobias and Prometheus. With a flick out of its now impressive wing span, Blathers let out a maniacal series of hoots that sounded a lot like that of an evil genius realising his ultimate plan. "Hoot~hoot~hoot! Thanks to your masterful oversight, I have now grown into a much grander form. One far more fitting of a genius my stature! You have my servitude Master Tobias. I live to serve, I serve to live!" Bowing with a slight bend of one of his wings and the other stretching out far behind, it appeared that Blathers despite his lunatic madness had come to respect Tobias completely. Doing up his jacket buttons, Tobias quickly proceeded to doing up his tie and narrowed his eye. "A boon to the schedule is always preferred." Looking out to the window overseeing Violet, the criminal had one more fortunate turnaround. "I see night is approaching. Come, we must hurry." Moving towards the elevator, Blathers instead decided to swoop down the sprawling gym tower and as they both reached the base, exited all at once.
As he passed through the doors, Tobias had a faint hint of a smile on his face.
Destiny beckoned.
