The last few days had been something of a boon to Tobias. Not only had he gone from strength to strength but he had also managed to gain membership into the infamous Team Rocket; a goal he had been planning to fulfil for the longest of times. However, now he was part of the mob it meant that he could waste no time in slacking. No sooner had he been signed up and stationed in one of the Team's squadrons, Tobias had taken leave once more and returned to the city of Violet. While the HQ had been positioned all the way in Goldenrod, Tobias was still intent on gaining an understanding of the routes in between. To him, knowledge was power and if he was unaware of the potential areas for exploitation in between then he may as well send in his resignation. Having made it through the city and now at the foot of Route 32, the suavely dressed criminal looked up to the gaping cave in front of him.
His fiery monkey provided warmth by his side, he mumbled out just as he lit up a cigarette. "Pay careful attention in here Prometheus. Most caves are chilly places and I do not want to lose my calm in such a location." Nodding its head understandingly, Prometheus sat a little closer to the side of the male's face which boasted the plain black eye patch. "Very well, we shall proceed." As he stepped in, he meandered his way through a narrow cave passage before making it into the heart of Union Cave. "Union Cave, hm? A ridiculous name but this leads on to Azalea. And from Azalea onto Goldenrod. We must survey these areas properly." He lectured, beginning to step forward further. "I also understand there is a operation being held in Azalea." Narrowing his eye as the faint glow from his smoke lit up their area, the male pressed on without so much a care for admiring the beautiful cave interior.

There wasn't all that much to admire inside of Union Cave regardless of Tobias being interested or not. The path was well trodden due to the amount of people who passed through here on a regular basis so the chances of him getting lost in this small stretch of cave was luckily low. Especially with the series of dim lanterns which were strung up along the jagged walls of the rocky cave, lighting the way to the other side clearly. Yet at the same time, didn't hold a strong enough light to disturb the many Pokemon which rested peacefully inside. One thing which was noticeable was the drop in temperature, a particularly cold chill lingering in the air. Even as Tobias pressed on into the main area of the cave, the sound of dripping water entered his ears, trickles of crystal clear and sparkling water wriggling out of the cave walls and having formed tiny pools of water in the odd location. If it wasn't for the warming company of Prometheus, chances of the coldness drilling into him after a while would've been high.
For now he needed to focus on moving forward, Azalea holding a great task for him to complete in the name of Team Rocket. However, before he could venture in too far, another new comer to this cave was about to make itself known. Usually living in the depths of Ilex Forest, a group of Nincada had buried underground and left the familiar grounds of the forest, leading in them becoming lost and using this cave as a safety haven of sorts temporarily. One had sensed the unusual steps of Tobias and from right under his smart shoes, had been following the tall male underground for a while. Finally overtaking him and digging itself up to the surface, the partially blind bug had better start praying that the eyeless Tobias wouldn't take a mighty step on it! Turning on the spot to face the man, the antenna on the front of the Nincada's body began to twitch erratically, trying to understand just what this huge thing was.

About to step his next footing down, Tobias snarled his lip slightly as he noticed something burrow up from beneath the ground. Expecting some sort of underground mole like creature he was actually surprised at the sight of a weird insect bug like creature before him. "Hmph... I should have thought that after joining Team Rocket that even the very bugs of the land would quake at my very step." Shifting the cigarette in his mouth one side and then taking it out gripped between his fingers, he let his breath expel the smoke from his mouth as he pondered what to do. "I suppose I could squash this bug... It would only be a fleeting moment." His gaze hardening as it looked at the bugs dim eyes, he pondered the alternative.
"Or I can move on regardless and stamp my heel on top of it." Placing the cigarette back into his mouth and inhaling a good dreg of it, he shot out smoke through his nostrils. His hand now free from gripping the cigarette, he reached to his inner jacket pocket and took out a Pokeball, enlarging it as he flung it forward. "Fang. Weaken this pest." Flying out of the ajar Pokeball appeared a ferocious purple rodent that let out a verminous snarl. "Hyper Fang." Giving the crazed rat free reign on how it wished to attack, Tobias let out a small yawn. He had very strict sleeping regimes, incredible precise ones at that. However, with all this traversing about it had meant that he was caught a bit short on his rest. Thankfully Prometheus' warmth was enough to keep him going until he could rest in Azalea.

The Nincada cocked its head to the side, observing the tall man with curious, beady eyes. It noticed that smoke was coming out of the man's mouth and nose, which made the tiny bug somewhat curious and concerned. It had never seen such a weird phenomena before. Was this man, perhaps, on fire on the inside? For a moment, the Nincada thought that was quite logical, congratulating itself for figuring that out. Then, the bug's gaze traveled to the man's eyes and noticed a glint of contempt in them. The Nincada gulped, feeling somewhat scared and vulnerable before the large man that towered over it. Maybe the smoke was because the large man was angry at it? This theory proved to be more logical as the man suddenly called out a purple rat out of a red and white ball. Before the Nincada could react, the Rattata rushed forward, viciously sninking its large fangs into the bug Pokemon. The Nincada let out a squeal of pain as Fang crunched down upon the small bug, giving it a rough shake as he held the critter in his jaws. Desperate to escape, the Nincada suddenly turned on the Rattata and raked its claws down the rodent's muzzle. The Rattata instantly loosened his grip on the Nincada, allowing the bug to rip itself free from the razor sharp teeth. The Bug quickly scurried back a few paces, feeling its wounds sting like fury. Its tiny heart hammered rapidly, realizing it might not get out of this fight alive... --------------------------------- Wild Pokemon Battle! Streaming a lot more smoke out of his nostrils, it was more than understandable as to why the Nincada viewed Tobias as a hybrid being of flesh and fire. Unfortunately, as misleading as the smoke was, the Pokemon was at least partially right. Except it was the wrong element. Standing perfectly still without uttering a word, Tobias kept an eye on the unfolding battle, hoping that the feral rat he had hacked away from the unknown trainer would prove useful. Scampering off without delay as if being flashed a glare of red to a bull, Fang used its sizeable teeth to violently harass the rogue Bug that had got in their way. Throttling him above the ground before being brandished a retaliatory swipe at its face, Tobias' face showed a hint of disapproval as Fang was forced to relinquish.
Scurrying backwards and letting the Nincada recover onto its front, the eye patched male looked down at Fang who was breathing oddly following the scratch. Whether it had caused a severe wound or given a large amount of shock to the system. "I shall deal with you later rodent." Diverting his angry wrath elsewhere, his eye soon settled on the wounded Nincada. Fang may have retreated but he had least dealt a fair amount of pain to the Pokemon. "For crossing my path, you are sentenced to servitude." Reaching into his jacket, he pulled out a spare Pokeball and tossed it forward rather uninterestedly. As it left his hand, he returned his hand to the inside of his leg pockets. This hadn't been too bad a skirmish, it had taken the entirety of a smoke at the very least.

The Nincada shuddered as the cool, cave air slid against it's wounds caused by the sharp fangs of the purple rodent. Partially blind as it was, this darkness and sudden influx of unbearable pain made it incredibly hard for the dizzy bug to pin point it's target. Atleast the scratch of it's stumpy pincer like arms managed to ward the Rattata off. But then, the soft green wings on the back of the Nincada's body flickered, the sound of Tobias' voice grimly leaking out of his lips. But perhaps Fang had a little more to worry about. Jolting backwards after the sharp twinge of pain itself, the feral rat was beginning to regret letting the bug go from his grasp. Was some sort of punishment in store for the rat now? Snorting under his breath, Fang remained focused and ready to jump back in for another round of biting but the suited male appeared to have another plan.
The wild Nincada, who had no idea what a Pokeball was due to living in such a sheltered part of Ilex Forest, twitched a single antenna. It couldn't quite understand what was going on but it started to have a gut feeling, warning itself to run or stand around to suffer consequences. Far too afraid and intimidated, the white bug managed to place a single foot backward, only to realise it was far to late. Releasing a slightly surprised cry as the object hit it's hard shell, the Nincada was forcefully drawn inside and unknowingly, about to serve Tobias for as long as necessary.

Letting out a belligerent snort as the Pokeball writhed back and forth having contained its bounty, it wasn't long before he was met with the echoing sound of a click reverberating from the capturing device. "A capture well done." He murmured, looking to Prometheus. "Off you go." Nodding, Prometheus, used his tail to wrap around Tobias upper arm so that he could fall down with an acrobatic flip that let him scamper to the ground without much problem. Hurrying over, the Pansear quickly swiped the Pokeball from off the ground lest some rogue Pokemon tucked away in the darkness tried grabbing it or some other scenario such as a nasty little mugger. Holding it above its head triumphantly, Prometheus scuppered off back to Tobias feet and presented it up to him. Or at least, that was what the Fire Monkey had hoped to do. As it turned around to venture back, both Pokemon and trainer were blinded by a sudden explosion of light from Fang who had been trying to recover from the nasty tear it had received to its muzzle. As the light pulsated, Tobias raised an eyebrow, showing a bare amount of interest. "The rat is finally becoming of some use." He noted, glad that he could now count on some bulkier support. Dying down the light soon faded, leaving them disorientated for a few seconds as everyone struggled to adjust to the gloom of the cave's interior.
As sense returned to Tobias, he observed the rodent's new form in the gentle flicker of some nearby torches. "Intriguing. You now look larger in size and doubly feral." Sure enough, Fang looked around with his teeth gnashing together violently. "Return." Murmured Tobias as he stowed him away until his services were better needed. Breathing a sigh of relief that he didn't have to cross paths with the feral rat, Prometheus moved on forward and finally displayed the newly caught arrival to Tobias. "I shall be keeping this catch for my own purposes." Pocketing it away as he took it from his partner, he turned his back, allowing Prometheus to clamber back up to his shoulder. "I really do wish to waste no more time here. Come, the exit is off in sight and we must attend to the urgent business at hand." Striding off, Tobias pretended to not even notice the random cries from off in the distance from deeper inside the cave. Once he had a single goal in sight, he wasted no effort in looking elsewhere. Stepping along the pathway, it wasn't long before the light shining from the cave's exit basked over their being, eventually engulfing their very outline as they stepped out into the open.
