Name: Fritz Hansen
Gender: male
Age: 47
Appearance:
Fritz is a rather tall man, his height is 6'1''. His body is build quite athletically, because he made efforts to keep himself in good shape, and is able to give a few pointers to many youngsters, who aren't just as fit. He wears an old-fashioned military uniform, remembering the days of his past. Has a gun in a holster hidden under his waffenrock (military jacket).
You could tell he was an officer just by looking at him. The way he walks, the way he talks, hell, even the way he greets other people - Fritz just has the air of it. Despite the fact that the uniform is relatively old, ex-captain keeps it in great shape. He still wears his rank insignias, though they are not fancy "parade" ones, but unnoticeable common ones - Fritz always looked down upon them as unnecessary luxuries.
Fritz's hair is gray, despite the fact that he's only 47 years old - they grayed out when, during a battle an Onyx emerged from under the ground just seevral inches away from him. The eyes are brown, perfectly normal, though when you're looking in them, you could see a dim sparkle of insanity...
Personality:
Some might say Fritz comports like a generic officer, and, in most parts, this statement would be right. This man always holds a strict and uptight attitude, acting as an example for his fellow soldiers, even though those soldiers are not around him. Tends not to fear anything, and is decisive, when he feels that the situation requires it (which is most of time sin his case).
Lives ascetically, frowning upon all things he sees as luxuries. Has a voice that shows some authority, and skills as a leader, but rarely uses them, because there's no one to lead. Faithfulness to the cause is probably one of the strongest traits in his characters.
You couldn't tell from the first glance, but he quickly grows attached to those he fights beside, be that people or pocket monsters. When training them he tends to be very strict, but just, non the less, knowing that no good will come out of applying too much pressure on them. If anyone under his command is under thread of death, the officer will do anything to save him/it, even up to the point of taking the gun from under his waffenrock and shooting the attacker.
However, Fritz is not without his flaws. Even though the war he participated in was over a long time ago, it never ended for him. Being paranoid, he feared that the enemy will attack soon again, and often has dreams of his home being burned by the enemy troops. Fear that such things might happen drove him paranoid, into suspecting anyone he meets to be an enemy agent. You'd better not look suspicious when approaching him...
Background:
Fritz Hansen lead a life, full of hardships, choosing military career. Life in the military is never easy, very dangerous, and always leaves an impact on psyche. It's a nasty, thankless job, but somebody's gotta do it. Fritz served in international peace-keeping forces during the wars, which meant he and his troops were often shot at from both sides, caught in a crossfire, etc.
Fritz joined in the age of 25, starting off as a soldier, but, due to his valor, resolve and leadership skills, was promoted numerous times, and left the forces in a rank of captain, and wears his uniform proudly. He wasn't serving in a pokemon battalion though - he lead regular soldiers, made of flesh and blood, into battle against those horrible monsters. He acknowledged that these creatures were much more suited for battle than men, and that knowledge brought him where he is today.
Was wounded numerous times, but never beyond recuperation. Under that uniform of his the body carries many scars. Perhaps all that stress during combat made him so paranoid, that even his superiors noticed it, not to mention his subordinates. Seeing that the man's nerves were not what they were used to be, he left the armed forces under recommendation of his superiors. After decommission the grizzled veteran settled in a town of New Bark.
For a short moment, Fritz found peace. There was no war, no shooting, no blood, just a peaceful, humble community, nice people, flowers, butterflies, sunshine, clear blue sky... It was too good to be true. But the captain fell in love with this place, which became his new home. But such happiness couldn't last for long...
Soon the captain began having ... dreams. Horrible dreams, where there's war. A new war, greater and far more horrible than the last. He saw his new home on fire, there were bodies everywhere... Every time he woke up at night, breathing heavily. He was afraid his nightmares would come true. He couldn't allow that to happen.
Fritz wrote countless requests to return to duty, but all of them were declined for numerous reasons, be that age, or ... any reason, really. In frustration, the former captain was ready to do something stupid, but an idea came as he saw a kid and a pokemon walking across the street. "Of course!" - he thought, "now just about anyone can start catching those beasts in the wilds. If they don't accept me now, maybe they will when I'll have a platoon of pokemon backing me up. These corps always suffer from lack of recruits..." - he added in mind, and left off to find out what needs to be done to become a "trainer"...
