((*dons shades* Prepare to die, Violet City. From my awesomeness))
After exiting the Pokémart, backpack weighed down by her new purchases, but wallet far lighter, the auburn haired teenager slowed down her pace and began to walk a little more casually. Admiring the city in its full entirety, especially while bathed in the pastel hues of early morning.
It was nothing short of breathtaking. Tanya Jordan walked down an empty sidewalk lining the side of a road devoid of cars, except for the occasional commuter. She had removed her black and gray long sleeved shirt in favour of the form hugging, lacy white tank she wore underneath. Her gray shirt was tied by the sleeves around her waist, flapping away as a light breeze stirred up.
Her mahogany hair was fluttering with it, trailing behind her like a fiery mane. She was feeling good, by damn. And to hell with anyone who wanted to spoil her mood! None of her Pokémon followed her at the moment; she didn't feel like souring their moods at this hour.
Plus, she was going to write in her notebook about her recent Sprout Tower adventure, something that really didn't need distractions. There was a park coming up on her left, and at this ungodly time of day where not even the birds were awake, would be perfect to sit down somewhere and just write. Tanya grinned, hurrying her pace to reach where the sidewalk split. The transition from smooth concrete to bumpy pavement was barely noticed in her favoured pair of black boots.
They tore away the ground as she strolled into the park, inhaling the crisp, fresh air that didn't stink of pollution or car exhaust. Or cat pee, like most city alleys did, for some reason. Tanya halted, staring around the vibrant, deserted park for an appropriate place to sit down.
Benches abounded, but she didn't want to be uncomfortable with a solid bar digging into her spine. So the girl instead opted for a rolling, lush green hill tickled with the occasional wild flower. A tall, sturdy oak tree rested at the very top, which was where she plopped herself down, sliding her bag off and unzipping it. Reaching in, she felt around for her notebook and plucked it out, and also managed to fish out a lone pencil, before reclining against the tree with a sigh.
After an hour of writing, Tanya looked up, wincing against the light of the sun on the distant horizon. The city behind her was slowly waking up, the sounds of various things becoming steadily louder.
People were beginning to trickle through the park, mostly dressed in suits and other business attire. Putting back her notebook, Tanya watched them unabashedly, even propping her elbows on her knees to cup her face in her hands. None of them so much as shot a glance her way, but every once in a while, someone would look up. They would proceed to go beet red once they realized they were being stared at, and would hurry along to get away from her piercing, uncomfortable gaze.
The result was endless amusement, until the novelty wore off, and she began to grow bored once again. Stifling a yawn, the girl again dove her hand into her back, but this time began taking out all six of her Poké Balls, instead of her usual one.
It might be chaotic, but they'd appreciate getting to know each other better. Tanya released them all, and smiled warmly as each Pokémon yawned and stretched as they woke up from sleep, or whatever they did in their separate spheres.
Angelus and Ignitus immediately rushed their trainer, both tackling her at the exact same time in a desperate bid for her attention. She fell flat against the grass, having leaned away from the tree to people watch. They both began to chatter angrily at each other, momentarily forgetting their trainer in order to bicker. But they yelped as two orange paws shot forwards and grabbed them both by the scruff.
It was Tempesta, the most hasty, impatient one of the lot, oddly enough. She held the two shocked Pokémon apart, staring at them both with a very annoyed look in her sky blue eyes. "Bui, buizel! Bui bui buizel! Bui, buizel bui?" she spoke rapidly, gazing at the Buneary and Torchic again. Both nodded frantically, and the Buizel lowered them to the ground gently.
Saphira walked over to Tanya and helped her up, then nuzzled the junction between her neck and shoulder. The girl giggled, and patted her Charmander affectionately on the head. Meanwhile, Veleno had made his way up the trunk of the tree, and was now resting on a low branch, eyes sliding closed as he sank into a quick catnap.
Fiero was standing by himself, as usual, and staring down at the passing people. He made no move to run down and inflict mayhem... yet. Tanya clapped her hands together, startling the group. "Right you guys. It's time for some major training, ya hear me? I wanna be prepared when we battle Falkner, the Gym leader here."
The group watched her, occasionally nodding or smirking. "So! You'll all get some training in, but first I want to work on Fiero, Tempesta, and Veleno. I got Saphira, Iggy, and Angelus some training in Sprout Tower, so those three can wait a little bit. No fussing, okay? Or back in the ball you go!" she warned them cheerfully.
At this point she beckoned over Fiero, who smiled deviously. "Okay. We're going to wait until something, or someone, finds us. Up here we're not hard to spot," Tanya told her fickle feline, who nodded smoothly. Now it was just time to wait until her words came true.

The city was alive and vibrant today for some reason, be it that there was a random influx of trainers coming into town and everyone was rushing off to see a battle wage, or simply because it was a nice sunny day to be out and about whatever the case Violet City was alive. For the most part Tanya was ignored. Trainers were a norm in this city so one wouldn't get anymore particular attention than any other unless they did anything noteworthy. Someone had their eyes on Tanya however as he exited the Violet City gym, Bird Keeper Peter. He was sure he wasn't the only one who had gotten kicked out of the gym for talking too much about birds. Maybe Falkner was just having a bad day and needed to be alone, yes that was definitely it. He convinced himself this and headed out towards the exit of the town, there wasn't much here fore him anyways so he might as well go back out and get his battle on. Scanning through the streets, he saw nothing of interest like usual, no real trainers caught his eye, nobody really appreciated the majesty of the bird Pokemon, most people avoided him because of it. Making up dumb reasons like, 'You're too dim.' or 'Stop hitting on me or I swear I'll stone you." or "Hands off you smell like a petting zoo." All just reasons to avoid fighting the superior class of mon if he said so himself. Then he saw her, like a breath of fresh air.. A thing of beauty, the brunette sitting their had captivated his eyes like a Pidgey in flight, like a V-line of Spearows. He had to know this girl's name. He shoved his way through the crowd on his way over there. Even managing to bowl over another trainer. The trainer scratched his cheek and gave a yell, "Hey watch where you're going man! Geez first getting handled in New Bark Town now this.. Guy can't catch a break.."(Made a mention of my first made up NPC <3 Hope you don't mind.) Gripping the girl by her shoulders rather firmly than you'd expect a guy to handle a lady, he turned her around and announced, "I am Bird Keeper Peter." He then pointed towards her pokemon, turning to look at them disdainfully, they weren't birds. Eww she even had a Meowth, filthy bird eating beast it was. He turned his gaze back to Tanya, "I see you're a trainer." He pointed out, the smell of cages and bird seed was overwhelming. "I have a proposition. We battle if I win, I get to take you on a date. If I lose then..." He looked about before he came up with a good stipulation, "Then I'll groom that thing." He pointed at Meowth. Tossing out his ball without waiting for an answer in return his Pidgey popping out, looking over the pokemon before gazing at the woman, he gave a small, "Pidge.." sigh, another pretty face.. His trainer was assuredly going to make fool out of himself. Again, he turned towards the closer Mon he was to and gave, "Pidge, Pidge gey.."(Rough translation: Sorry in advance.) Before Peter said, "Enough Pidgey. No small talking with the enemy. And remember to go easy on them, they still are a girl's pokemon after all." He gave a chuckle as if he said something funny before he turned towards Tanya. Bird Keeper Peter just insulted you, and manhandled you whilst insinuating you had little enough taste to date him. Don't take that! KICK HIS ASS! D:<

Tanya had risen to her full height, and was now watching her Ekans carefully, mentally debating his sanity. The last time she'd used him in battle, he'd hijacked it and fought on his own, and then had cuddled up to her after she'd freaked over Saphira's... new accessory.
Her Pokemon must have been just as preoccupied, except for Fiero, as none of them had even been alerted in the slightest to the trainer shoving his way through the throngs of sleep-addled people to reach her.
Fiero bristled, amber eyes gleaming with a twinkle of annoyance as the boy approached his trainer without the slightest hint of hesitation, as most would do. Not that Tanya was intimidating, but most trainers would have halted and then simply declared their challenge from afar. This human male certainly had gall.
The auburn haired girl nearly jumped a foot in the air when she felt hands grasp her shoulders; instead, a startled gasp left her lips. Instinctively, one foot lifted off the ground, ready to stomp this stranger's foot into a lumpy mess. And then she was spun around rather abruptly, and found herself face to face with a boy close to her own age, with light brown hair and an overwhelming stench of birds all over him.
While she might have thought him cute at another time, his rather tactless approach soured her judgement immediately. And then Peter, or whatever he said his name was, proceeded to say that he would take her on a date should she lose the battle he was now proposing.
To keep him in good spirits, though she already quite wanted to jam her knee into his lower regions, all Tanya allowed her face to do was look politely incredulous. One slender eyebrow rose up. "Groom... Fiero? You'd be better off sticking a fork in an outlet," she replied with a sweet smile that barely concealed the slightly resentful tone in her voice.
As soon as Peter said 'a girl's Pokemon', Fiero snapped. His eyes had been locked hypnotically on the Pidgey that had just appeared, but as his pride was insulted, his hungry glare turned towards the human male.
The fur on his neck rose, almost like a dog's, and his claws sprang free. The rest of Tanya's Pokemon stopped to watch what was going on, some apprehensively, like Angelus and Saphira, others with some sort of excitement, which included Tempesta and Veleno. Iggy yawned, tripping over his feet as he stumbled towards Tanya's open bag and hopped in it, snuggling into her clothes for a quiet nap. The girl looked down at her furious Meowth, tail lashing the air, and back at Peter.
"If you really want to battle me... it's your bird's face," Tanya said with the faintest of sighs. Her feline was on the warpath, and Peter's poor Pidgey would be lucky to escape with a few feathers left intact. Or to be more precise, any limbs at all. Shaking back her mahogany mane from her face, the teenager flashed a rather sultry smile before backing away from what would undoubtedly turn into a bloody battlefield.
Her Meowth strode forwards several paces, still glaring at Peter. "Try and be humane, Fiero. And since you challenged me, I'll take the liberty of the first attack. Execute Scratch, darling!" she called with her hand flick. With a rather savage grin the tawny cat sprang forwards, slashing out with one outstretched paw at the Pidgey he was about to unleash hell upon.

"He's just a Meowth, is there much he can do to me besides maybe give me fleas? Hmm though come to think of it that's not very fun either." Peter said as he tapped his chin thinking about it, maybe he could change his stipulation. He didn't want fleas from some mangy creature. He shrugged and then replied, "Yeah I'll do it, if anything I can give it a bath while doing so." Her bitterness and obvious tone fell deaf on his ears, he had heard it on so many women who talked to him he just automatically assumed they all spoke like that. Peter had no impression of how much danger he was putting his Pidgey in, but the Pidgey had an idea, as he watched the Meowth's rage increase. The Pidgey gave a sigh, and then prepared himself, if he was gonna take a pounding he'd at least give back as much of a pounding as he could. "Pidge." Was all he needed to stone his resolve and get himself ready for the battle. Peter who had caught the gaze of the Meowth on him gave a small little huff and the laughed, "I'm not a Rattata, dumb creature." He gave a chortle before turning towards Tanya, "Heh. Silly things aren't they? But not everything can have the brains of bird pokemon. Y'know, I'm sure he's good at some things, running and doing whatever they do." The boy would make his disdain for the Meowth evident, if she was smart than she would wholeheartedly agree that the pokemon was a piece of crap. Fiero had had enough of this boy's mouth already and him and his owner had only been conversing for minutes. He had, however, said enough things to last for a lifetime in his mind, giving his trainer a smirk at her orders, he'd be more than happy to oblige even if he really wanted it cash this check on Peter's face, he'd guess the walking lunch would have to do for now, maybe drop a deuce in Peter's birdcage when he wasn't looking. The Pidgey hadn't enough time to dodge the rage driven claw to the face, three fine claw marks glowing red down his face, letting out a pained cry the Pidgey stumbled backward. Peter gave a shake of his head as he looked over Tanya, "Anywhere particular you want to go for our date gorgeous?" Before he turned towards his Pidgey and then said, "Don't worry about it, there's no way you'll let some flea- ridden beast beat you, just cuz he was born to be a brute doesn't mean you have to submit to it." He gave a smirk before turning back towards Tanya, "Come to think of it, you probably will send us somewhere girly. How about we do lunch?" The Pidgey gave a huff before turning it's eyes on Fiero, he didn't really care that much about the fact that he attacked, course he would that was the deal, but his face? The Pidgey was admittedly vain and did not like this one bit, turning towards his trainer waiting for some sort of command. "Oh right! Use Tackle Pidgey!" Only gladly were the Pidgey's thoughts before taking flight, flying in circles to gather torque before he made a beeline towards Fiero. Lowering his head, before lowering the boom on him. Fiero hadn't even considered tensing up, it was just a bird.. What was the worst it could do. Whilst he was skidding to a stop he came to a conclusion that that was probably a bad idea. He had to give the bird credit, it packed a punch, but nothing he couldn't handle. He was after all tough. Taking a spit and give a smirk to the Pidgey he turned to Tanya, downplaying the tackle attack. The Pidgey fluttered back towards Peter, hmph. He could recognize playing it down, whatever he'd just have to make sure he hit harder next time. Peter gave a chuckle and then looked over at Tanya with a smile, "Ya see? My birds are the best around. You'd be silly not to date me." He chortled, "Your turn! You should probably use an attack, defensive moves don't do much." He said in a tone suggesting that he totally believed she was not capable of deciphering that on her own. "Just sayin'." He added. Dude, you're so in there.(Bonus points for getting what show that's from.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pidgey| 11 | Health:84% Status:I don't think I mentioned before, but yeah IN YOUR FACE VS Fiero | 9 | Health:77% Status:Heh, lunch.

As if shooting off his mouth wasn't bad enough; taking jabs at her darling Fiero was making her start to feel very resentful towards the feather-headed dunce. Did he eat bird seed for breakfast? Tanya's gem eyes narrowed to slits as he went on about Fiero possibly having fleas.
As if! Her Pokémon were well taken care of, and it was very insulting he thought one of them was not merely because he was a natural enemy of the 'oh so precious!!' Bird Pokémon.
Fiero voiced his anger with a vehement hiss, bristling with barely restrained rage. Oh how he longed to sink his claws into the boy's gut and eviscerate him wholly. His Pidgey had some common sense at least, and seem exasperated at his trainer's apparent lack of brains.
"Fiero? He knows better than to associate with those filthy rodents," the teenager replied cheerfully in a voice that was honey mixed with vinegar. And the idiot kept on babbling, talking about where he was to whisk them on their date. Her eyebrows shot skywards, mouth very nearly dropping in shock. She hadn't even agreed to it, and here he was, prattling on about how she was likely going to pick somewhere girly!?
The only place she'd ever go with him would be to the hospital to make sure she hadn't accidentally murdered him. Arrogant, self-centered... and one of those 'judges a book by its cover' sort of person. Thankfully her hands were slightly behind her back, or he might have noticed her balling them into fists.
Their Pokémon traded off attacks with aplomb, although it seemed his Pidgey had the upper hand in strength. Fiero brushed off the Tackle as if it were nothing, but she knew exactly how to read her Pokémon to know it had hurt a lot.
His suggestion made her want to shriek something nasty right back. I'll show you offensive, you thick-headed troll! her mind raged. The outside reflection of her inner turmoil was quite plain to see; furrowed brow, sparking eyes, lips turned down at the corners. How he passed over these obvious signs of her towering temper reaching a boiling point was beyond her.
Even her Pokémon were beginning to get nervous. Saphira toddled forwards, grabbing at her trainer's jeans as if to try and assuage her anger. Tempesta hung back, plopping herself on the ground by Tanya's backpack and watched the scenes play out as if it were some second-rate film. Angelus hopped over to the Buizel and snuggled in close to her side, causing the otter to punt the rabbit away enough so they were not touching.
Looking disgruntled, the Buneary crossed her arms and huffed, but made no complaint. Their trainer was in the middle of something important, and interrupting it for something trivial was not their idea of fun.
"How about you use Growl, Fiero?" Tanya suggested with a broad smirk flashed Peter's way. Just to show she was ignoring his suggestion because he'd told her what to do. Her tawny cat mimicked her smirk and sucked in a deep breath.
Tanya carefully plugged her fingers in her ears and began to whistle a jaunty tune just as Fiero let out a hellishly loud, shrieking Growl that was sure to put a dent in birdboy's Pidgey's attack stat - and its hearing.

The opinions expressed in the following mod post by 'Bird Keeper Peter' are not necessarily the opinions of ZapdosZulu, any of it's members or myself. He's a sexist pig, we're not. VS.[/i]
Peter's jaw dropped when Tanya didn't do what he suggested. She was a girl! Surely she knew he knew best? A strange sensation overtook him, it wasn't lust and it wasn't disappointment; it was anger! How could she disobey him? Surely it's the woman's job to obey him? Come to think of it, he was hungry, maybe he'd ask for a sandwich after he won.
A sudden movement about 3 inches from his face made him stop his trail of thought. It was Pidgey! Pidgey was attempting to hide behind him. From what? Looking across the field, all he could see was that beautiful brunette and her Meowth. What was going on? Peter was exceptionally confused, (He attacked himself in his confusion!) something he was normally used to but this girl seemed to make him even more confused!
"What's wrong Pidgey?" he said to the terrified bird that now rested atop his head.
"Pidge! Pidge-Pidgey!" it squawked in reply.
"I don't think she's that ugly! She has nice hair!" he replied. "Now, come on, let's use Gust attack!"
Pidgey obeyed reluctantly. It flew left its perch and flew close to the Meowth. It then flapped its wings wildly to create strong winds. This attack meant that it wouldn't be close enough to the Meowth for it to strike out so it felt happy enough to be as powerful as it could be. Meowth was buffeted by the forceful winds until it was eventually flung backwards, colliding with Tanya!
"Haha! I will win this battle and then you shall be my date!" Peter taunted as Pidgey flew back to rest at his feet. Battle Peter's Pidgey | Level 11 | Health : 84%Status : -1 Attack Fiero | Level 9 | Health : 45%Status : Ouch!

There was something gratifying to see his jaw drop at her outright disobedience. Like hell she was about to let a boy tell her what to do. Her natural stubborn streak was beginning to show; that little piece of her that didn't back down when things got rough.
Her grin widened at his shock, and then at his Pidgey's complete freak-out from Fiero's earsplitting loud Growl. And then reading the emotions playing out on his face just iced the cake for her.
What, had he honestly expected her to willingly drop to her knees and become subservient to his every whim? If he'd even let that pass into his mind for a moment, then he was a complete sexist pig and he wouldn't be walking out of this battle consciously. Violence wasn't one of her suits, but she'd already dealt with one idiotic man-child before when he wrongly assumed he could teach her kleptomaniac feline a lesson.
Despite all the thoughts turning her brain into a maelstrom of confusion, the girl still let out a snort of mirth at his interpretation of his bird's fear. "Ugly and me in the same sentence? Puh-lease," Tanya said before she could stop herself, not even trying to conceal her smugness.
She wasn't narcissistic in the slightest. While she didn't consider herself a striking beauty, she knew at least that she wasn't too plain-looking for a teenager. The olive skin, gem green eyes and mane of fiery hair attested to that, as well as her willowy figure and height.
Absently she ran a hand through her hair and tossed it back again, right before Peter's Pidgey flew forwards and stirred up a strong wind that mussed it up and sent strands all over her face.
Clawing them out of her line of vision, she was unable to see Fiero gasp and hurtle right at her, causing Tanya to yelp as the tawny cat struck her legs and sent her to the ground. She landed on her bottom, sending up a light cloud of dust.
Groaning, the girl wiped away her hair impatiently before gently grabbing Fiero by the shoulders and holding him up in the air, where he wriggled in discomfort.
"You okay, darling?" she asked in concern, eyebrows knitting together. Wincing, one amber eye closed, the Meowth nodded anyways. Tanya set him on his feet and rubbed her backside, frowning. Hopefully he'd be able to last out one more attack before she had to heal him.
Shaking her head quickly, Tanya pointed at the Pidgey by Peter's feet. "Fiero, I want you to Scratch that smug little flying feather duster and take it down a notch!" she ordered confidently.
Fiero grinned savagely through his pain and unleashed his claws, running flat-out towards the tan bird with murder in his heart. With a gasp of pain Tanya rose back to her feet, then shot Peter a dirty look. "Is this how you like to treat pretty girls? By knocking them down? Not very polite of you," the girl said through her teeth, not at all happy she was going to have some bruises from her little tumble.

VS.
Peter was so proud of his Pidgey. Hopefully it had out this girl back in her place: at his feet.
"Oh, Pidgey! I am so proud of you!" he cried at his pokémon, elation written across his face. He couldn't wait to tell Faulkner about this attack, all he had to do was get past those guards that seemed to have mysteriously appeared after Faulkner's Pidgeotto Gusted him out of the Gym. They didn't understand how important it was that Peter talk to Faulkner, they didn't know that Faulkner and him were best friends. In fact, come to think of it, Faulkner seemed to be forgetting that a lot, too. He'd have to remind him of that while he told him about his amazing Pidgey. "Pidgey, you should be in the top percent of Pidgeys!" he added.
Then, his world came crashing down, he realised that his new girlfriend had fallen over and most likely hurt herself. He'd just kiss that better on their date. She didn't seem too happy but then again, who could blame her? With Pidgey's Gust attack, she wouldn't have been able to see Peter for a few seconds what with all that hair in her face. He'd have to make that up to her, maybe he'd take her out to somewhere nice, just as long as they didn't serve Chicken.
Tanya's cry came through the air like a hot knife through butter: 'Scratch'. When would she learn? Resistance was futile! The Bird Trainers were going to take over the world soon, anyway. He watched as his Pidgey's breast was scratched savagely by that disgusting cat of hers. When Tanya was his wife, he'd ensure that that mongrel was released to the wild. It seemed hurt but not too hurt that it couldn't go on. Peter was sure it would be able to survive on his compliments anyway.
"All right, Pidgey, let's use that Gust attack, again," he said to the bird that was hovering just in front of him. It was such a beautiful bird, too. He didn't understand how anyone could harm it.
Pidgey shot towards the Meowth, the Scratch attack still stung lightly across its chest, it was going to ensure that this Meowth really paid for that! It began to flap its wings but this time, it did it very close to the ground so that Fiero was flung upwards. As he ascended through the air, so did Pidgey, flying alongside it. Eventually, the two pokémon managed to get 10 feet above the ground, which was massive to both of them because they were just so small. Then, Pidgey stopped, letting Fiero drop. Fiero, being a cat, was prepared to fall so aligned itself perfectly for the drop but Pidgey was one step ahead of him. It dived down and, just as Meowth was a foot above the ground, Pidgey created a strong wind that spiralled the Meowth's body out of control and sent it flying to the right. With a sickening noise, Meowth landed head-first at Tanya's feet. Pidgey chirped merrily and Peter did a small jig on the spot. Fiero wasn't moving. He had been knocked out!
"Pidgey, you are brilliant!" Peter cried to his pokémon. "Here, let's celebrate this victory with Doduo!" he added before throwing a Poké Ball onto the field. Out burst a Doduo that jumped up and down, it's master and best friend had done a brilliant job!
"Since I did so brilliantly, I propose we turn this into a Double Battle," Peter said, turning his attention to Tanya. A gloating grin had plastered itself across his face while Pidgey and Doduo danced at his feet.

((holy crap a member's Pokémon fainted! IT'S A FIRST! xD))
The urge to giggle, despite her still stewing rage, was beginning to overwhelm her. He had seemed so overjoyed at his Pidgey's attack, almost as if he would burst. But she hadn't forgotten his 'tude, and the merest hint of that particular thought instantly wiped the humour from her face and mind. She let her steely gaze slice into him, and began to chew on her lower lip as she tended to do in nervous situations.
Fiero panted as he sprang back from his attack, leaving a new batch of scratches along the feather-duster's chest. But he was completely unprepared for what was about to happen to him next. His paws left ground as whirling winds carried him into the sky, where he wriggled uncomfortably.
His domain was the solid earth, and the sensation of not touching it was unsettling. And then his time in the air was abruptly cut off, leaving the feline to plunge down with gravity's hold taking effect. Natural instincts caused him to twist in mid-fall and end up feet first before the little Pidgey intercepted and sent a blast of air that disrupted his trajectory and sent him crashing into the dirt by his trainer's feet.
Tanya stared down at Fiero in shock, unable to comprehend that he'd just fainted. She dropped to her knees, pulling the Meowth onto her lap gingerly. Tears brimmed at the corners of her eyes, ready to spill. It's just a battle, it's just a battle, her mind chanted, trying to dam the flood.
"Tempesta... bring me my bag, please," the girl said in a clinical tone, stroking her unconscious cat whilst completely ignoring whatever Peter was doing. Her Buizel huffed in annoyance but rose fluidly to her feet, gently grabbing hold of one of the navy colored backpack's straps before trotting over to the slightly crestfallen teenager. She set it down carefully and began to back up when Tanya held up a hand.
Curious, the orange otter turned around. "He wants to spice things up... then I'm sending in the cavalry. You'll be fighting now," the girl said in an odd tone that had the Buizel smiling. Finally, some action! "Buizel! Bui bui..." Tempesta replied, trotting out to face Peter's Pokémon and struck a battle ready pose, both arms bent at the elbow and held away from the sides of her body.
The rest of her Pokémon stirred, intrigued by this turn of events. But she said nothing else for the moment, reaching into her bag, careful not to disturb her slumbering Torchic, and pulled her hand back out a moment later.
Clutched between her forefinger and thumb was a pale square that had a faintly medicinal smell to it. Shifting her legs again, Tanya positioned Fiero so she had better access to his head. With her free hand, she gently pried open his mouth and inserted the Revive, massaging his throat to coax him into swallowing it. Coughing, the tawny cat opened his eyes weakly, and stared at the head of his trainer peering down at him, framed by a cloud of mahogany hair.
"Meow..." he groaned, sliding off her legs and sticking his tongue out, where he proceeded to wipe at it frantically. Tanya chuckled, knowing that any sort of medicine never tasted good. As he made to return to battle, she reached out and stopped the Meowth before he could move any further.
Fiero turned back with a confused expression. "You're still hurt, darling. I'll make sure to repay you later, but take a breather. Now... Veleno, ~" Tanya called in a singsong voice, outright ignoring Fiero's raspy hiss of anger. Her Ekans responded by sliding down the tree trunk and gliding over to rest by Tempesta, half of his body rising off the ground. He knew exactly what she'd wanted.
Grinning now, the girl struggled back to her feet and rested one hand on her waist. The other flicked out in her signature move. "I'll take you up on that. Tempesta, hose the little Pidgey down with Water Gun!" the teenager ordered without missing a beat.
Since she had substituted Veleno for Fiero, his attack would have to wait. But he was substantially better with patience than Tempesta, who eagerly fired off a jet of water straight from her gut in a faster reaction to her trainer's orders than any of her Pokémon yet.
((Summary - Tanya revived Fiero, but switched him out for Veleno, who will not attack this turn. I'm editing her inventory now. This was done so Fiero would still receive a level up after the conclusion of the battle.))

Something just occurred to me: Do NPC's pokémon level up during battles? Oh dear God, I had no idea Doduo would have such a powerful Attack stat! VS.
Tempesta's Water Gun attack sailed through the air at Pidgey who was chirping merrily to Doduo, filling it in on what had happened so far. Both Doduo's heads were talking at once, further confusing and distracting the Pidgey. Suddenly, icy cold water splashed onto its back. Pidgey's immediate response was to blame Peter; he had used cold water to train them when they were still babies and hadn't learnt how wonderful and smart and handsome he was.
It looked up at him indignantly and squawked.
"It wasn't me! It was my wife's Buizel!" he cried out, he hadn't done it! It was that Buizel's attack and if only Pidgey was paying more attention to the battle, it was his marriage on the line!
"Geyo!" it chirped before facing Tempesta. How dare it! Pidgey was doing a brilliant job of battling and this Buizel dared to come along and spoil it? It would pay!
"Doduo, use your Quick Attack!" Peter commanded. He was sorry to see his new girlfriend's pokémon harmed but he had to win this battle and Doduo was his most powerful pokémon.
Doduo obeyed instantly. It hopped forwards before darting at astronomical speeds. Its two legs were just a blur, like the rest of its body as it ran towards the Buizel. As it reached the Buizel, it jumped up and landed on Tempesta's chest, forcing it to the ground. Doduo's two heads squawked in Tempesta's face loudly, terrifying it. Doduo jumped high into the air off Buizel's body and landed beside its master, feeling incredible.
"Pidgey, follow that up with your world-famous Gust attack," Peter said in a commanding tone. Doduo had definitely left its mark on Tempesta; it was still on the ground, recovering from the fast and horrifying turn of events. He hadn't even seen the Doduo coming before it was on top of him and that noise it made! It was terrifying!
Flying up into the air, Pidgey shot towards the Buizel. As it was still on the ground, Pidgey was forced to go closer to Tempesta. A foot off the ground, Pidgey began the Gust attack; its wings flapped and produced a huge whirlwind of sorts that shot Tempesta around it, buffeting it and causing it distress. Pidgey stopped and Buizel landed on the ground tail-first. It did not look happy!
Battle
Peter's Pidgey | Level 10 | Health : 45% Status : Still a little bit wet Peter's Doduo | Level 12 | Health : 100% Status : Fast!
Tempesta | Level 10 | Health : 26% Status : Aw shi-! What just happened? Veleno | Level 10 | Health : 100% Status : Normal

((Don't forget about Veleno's Intimidate ~))
There was a faint smile teasing her lips as his Pidgey squawked in anger after being splashed by the jet of water Tempesta had fired its way. But that faint joy was short-lived when Peter frantically explained the sudden water that had appeared on it and soaked its 'glorious' feathers to a bedraggled mess.
A strange, gurgling noise erupted from her throat, and Tanya went red in the face. Veleno turned his head back, wondering what his trainer could possibly be doing. His golden eyes widened as he took in her face in all its choking glory.
"W-wi... you... marri-... just..." she managed in a strangled voice, trying to speak past whatever obstruction had cropped up in her throat. Had he seriously just called her his wife!? What sort of bird droppings had he been sniffing this morning? In all honesty, the girl was choking because she was torn between a strong bout of hysterical laughter or jaw-dropping shock.
She took a deep breath and exhaled heavily, trying to calm her body down. Her head drooped down just in time to miss Doduo flying forwards to slam Tempesta heartily to the ground and shriek in her face. The Buizel tried to suck in a breath but merely gasped silently; mouth moving but nothing happening, like a suffocating fish.
And then she was slammed brutally by the Pidgey's Gust, drawing her into the air and then dropping her again, landing flat on her butt. She winced, shoulders slumping inwards, most of her health depleted from such an onslaught of attacks. Tanya glanced up, still pink in the face from her near choking fit of hysteria, and felt her eyes widen again.
This guy had no idea who he was messing with. If she managed to scrape a win, he'd be getting fed food from a tube down his throat for years.
Veleno stared at his companion and hissed violently, slithering forwards several inches. He drew himself up again and affixed the birds with a very intimidating glare, hopefully inflicting enough fear to decrease their willingness to attack him or his friend.
His trainer was already moving, rushing to Tempesta's side with a red and orange bottle clutched in her left hand. She lifted the Buizel to her feet and crouched down, spraying her wounds carefully with the Super Potion. Almost as if she had shot a jolt of energy into her veins, the otter felt better almost immediately.
"Bui... bui buizel," Tempesta complained to her owner before stalking back over to Veleno's side.
With a heavy sigh, Tanya stared at her Pokémon's opponents. Pidgey was surely getting weaker, but his Doduo had a lot of punch. She frowned, assessing the finer details in her mind. Poison Sting packed a little less oomph, but came with a type bonus and a chance to poison, whereas Bite was a little stronger, but lacking a same type attack boost. Her eyes landed on the Pidgey, deciding to wipe it out.
Doduo could wait... hopefully. "Veleno, Poison Sting that flying bag of worms!" she commanded with her hand flick, anger coloring her words. She'd exact vengeance for Tempesta getting ganged up on.
Agreeing with a raspy hiss, the snake slithered forwards on his belly and approached the bird with malice glittering in his eyes. His jaws opened wide, and with a sickening noise he spewed a volley of purple nettles at it, making sure to aim for its face and chest.

Tempesta smiled as she felt the healing powers of the Super Potion throughout her body, she'd gone from heavily wounded to fully healed in the blink of an eye, her energy had been fully restored by the item. So she was ready to get back into combat and dish out some payback to the two Pokemon that had ganged up on her, how dare they do that to a lady such as herself. But she knew, which saddened her, that she wouldn't be able to attack this round since Tanya had needed to use an item on her, so this round would be left totally to Veleno, hopefully he was up to it. Veleno was of course ready to go, his partner had been hurt pretty bad in the last round, and he had glared at the two birds pretty well, but he knew that she was in good hands with Tanya, so he wasn't worried about her right now, gotta keep your head in the game after all. So when he'd been told to use his Poison Sting, there was no delay, he'd been ready for orders and that was the attack he had expected to be using. So he sent out a stream of poisonous needles, headed right for the Pidgey, who Veleno guessed thought he was safe up in the air. Well not for long! The small needles impacted the Pidgey, with several of them penetrating into the bird, spreading the poison into the bird's bloodstream. The Pidgey having been poisoned, fell to the ground, it no longer had the energy to maintain flight. It hadn't taken damage from the impact but it still couldn't fly. So Peter decided to have it use a Tackle rather then the moves that needed flight or at least powerful motion from the wings, Gust and Sand Attack. So the Pidgey charged the snake that had just attacked it, and had managed to hit him at it's full speed, but thanks to it's low energy and the intimidation it had received from the snake earlier it did very little damage. The Doduo was still healthy, but the intimidation had affected him as well, so his second Quick Attack was weaker then the first one had been, even though he seemed to be moving faster then before. Tempesta was knocked down, but she hadn't been hit back nor had she taken heavy damage from the attack. All four Pokemon then began to await for new orders. While Pidgey took some extra damage from the poison that reached it's heart this round. Double Battle Pidgey | Level 10| Doduo | Level 12| Health : 18% Health : 100% Status : Poisoned; Attack -1 Status : Normal; Attack -1 Attack : A successful Tackle. Attack : A successful Quick Attack. Tempesta | Level 10| Veleno | Level 10| Health : 71% Health : 78% Status : Normal Status : Normal Attack : N/A, Super Potion. Attack : A successful Poison Sting.

She watched the battle with baited breath, fingers curled in tight against her palm. Veleno seemed to take the assault on his comrade as an insult, and peppered the little flying beast with a round of his home-brewed poison nettles. A grim smile lit her face as it was knocked from the air and consequently poisoned. Even when it got up and managed a Tackle on Veleno, Tanya didn't even blink.
Though she did scratch her head, wondering what had rendered Peter silent. Perhaps she'd finally gotten through to him that she didn't date addle-brained fools with tons of prejudice and blabbermouths. Oh well, any moment free of his chirping was bliss to her.
Tempesta braced herself as the Doduo shot for her like a rocket, and she was knocked to the ground by its less powerful attack. She grinned in a barbaric manner at the two-headed bird and made a violent gesture with one paw.
Saphira watched the battle with a lingering resentment in her eyes, wishing she could step in and prevent her friends from being harmed. But she would have to make do with being sidelined, since she'd done some training in the Tower along with Ignitus and Angelus.
Both Pokémon sighed at the same time and resigned themselves to being mere spectators.
Tanya's keen green eyes locked onto the Pidgey, and watched it wince as the poison Veleno had inflicted upon it took effect. It wasn't going to last another round - even without what she was about to call out next.
Her Buizel wasn't Hasty natured for nothing. The light in Tanya's eyes was dazzling as she flicked on a roguish smile and cast her hand forwards. "Go Tempesta! Remove it from your sight with a Quick Attack!" she practically sang. Tempesta let out a battle cry in agreement.
"BUIIII-ZEL!"
Now it was the otter's turn to streak forwards like a bolt of orange lightning, moving so fast a white light was left in her wake. She approached the Pidgey in record time attempting to brutally slam her paw into its already injured chest.
As this occurred, Tanya turned to her eager snake, whose tail thrashed against the ground in savage glee. As strong as the Doduo might be, it was now wide open for attack from him. And she wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to pay it back for hurting Tempesta so harshly.
Her hand flicked towards it this time, and she felt her roguish grin widen. "Veleno, repeat Poison Sting!" Tanya called. Though Bite may have had its uses, she knew that using their less powerful moves would help her hammer at Peter's Pokémon slowly and steadily, much like the poison coursing through his Pidgey's veins.
Veleno slithered forwards again, his gold eyes locked on the strange two-headed avian. He drew himself up and swayed hypnotically for a moment, before his jaw fell wide open and he disgorged a flurry of his specialty poisonous nettles right at the bird's body and neck.
Perhaps she would get lucky again, and the beast would be afflicted with crippling poison. And then she'd proceed to sweep it aside.

The poor Pidgey hadn't even had the time to do anything after Tanya had told her Buizel to use a Quick Attack, she'd been much too fast for the bird to react to. Peter hadn't even been able to decide if he thought he should use a potion on Pidgey or not before the, rather angry at being double-teamed, Tempesta had launched her attack. She had seemed to teleport from her position near Veleno, to being right in front of the Pidgey, at which point she had slammed her paw into the bird's ribcage. The hit was, as if to add to the misery of the poor bird, a Critical Hit, there were some rather loud cracks heard upon impact, a few of the ribs breaking most likely. Luckily for the Pidgey, it hadn't felt this as it had already been knocked out, but his Trainer had to hear it and the sounds made him sick, since it was his own Pokemon that those sounds had come from. But he'd recovered quickly and recalled the Pidgey to prevent it from being harmed further. He then grabbed a Pokeball and threw it, releasing a Spearow. "Spearow, we'll need to get revenge for Pidgey so do your best! And Doduo, use a Quick Attack on the Ekans!" he told the two Pokemon. The Doduo made roughly the same movements that Tempesta had made, but had rammed it's entire body into Veleno rather then a single part, however this spread the energy over Veleno's body, rather then focusing on one point and due to this it caused less damage then Tempesta's attack had caused to the Pidgey. As the Doduo went back, Veleno had shot out some of it's poison needles after the two-headed bird. The attack hit the bird's necks and body from behind, it failed to cause a lasting poison, but still managed to do some damage. After the Pokemon had all recovered from the attacks they began to await their next set of orders. Double Battle Pidgey | Level 10| Doduo | Level 12| Health : 0% Health : 79% Status : Fainted; Attack -1 Status : Normal; Attack -1 Attack : N/A Attack : A successful Quick Attack. Tempesta | Level 10| Veleno | Level 10| Health : 71% Health : 57% Status : Normal Status : Normal Attack : A successful Quick Attack. Attack : A successful Poison Sting. Bird Keeper Peter sent out Spearow [Level 11] Congratulations, Tempesta grew to level 12. Congratulations, Veleno grew to level 12.Veleno, learned the Move Glare. But Veleno already knows four Moves. Have it forget a Move for Glare? [/b][/center] Congratulations, Fireo grew to level 10.

((To whom it may concern, I had Glare replace Leer in Veleno's moveset ~))
She couldn't help but cheer out loud at Tempesta successfully took out the Pidgey, though she did feel a moment's remorse for the cracking noise she heard even from where she stood. As Veleno and Doduo performed their attacks, the girl absently played with the frayed stitching she'd done on her tank after Saphira's tail had burned her and left a nice hole in it.
As she watched Peter recall his Pidgey, a beeping went off in her bag. Curious, Tanya walked over to it and reached in, carefully avoiding Ignitus, and withdrew her Pokedex. Crouching down, the teenager flipped it open and was greeted by Veleno's picture.
It was showing her his moveset, and prompting her to replace a move with an attack called 'Glare'. She smiled, knowing exactly what it did, and erased her Ekans' Leer attack with it. Veleno seemed to shift as she slid the Pokedex away.
Perhaps he sensed he could do something different. And in knowing this, he cracked an evil smile and stared intensely at the Doduo. Both of Tanya's Pokemon knew that it was going to be the next one taken out.
"Kanssss," the serpent hissed throatily, his tail lashing the air. Tanya smiled, and held her hand out, fingers splayed, towards the two-headed fowl. "Try out that new Glare of yours!" she suggested cheerfully.
His expression turned even more devious, and the snake nodded, turning back towards the Doduo with a sugary-sweet smile. Then his eyes sparked a very bright, intense gold, slowly turning into a piercing Glare to hopefully paralyze its victim with a staggering fear.
Grinning, Tanya turned to her Buizel, who was peering back at her with an impatient look on her face. The girl met her sea otter's liquid blue gaze and nodded at the Doduo again. "Quick Attack one more time before Veleno hits it. Make it hurt," she told her quick-moving Pokemon.
Tempesta smiled, and was off like a shot. She barreled towards the brown bird in a streak of orange and white. Realizing Veleno needed to lock eye contact, the Buizel skirted around behind it and hurled herself at it headfirst, aiming for its legs to try and knock it down.
Tanya bit down on her lip, and could only silently pray for a streak of luck to help her through the battle.
