Route 30 (?) Weather Effect: Hail | When Alex cleaned off the Pokeball and gave it back to the kid in question, he was overjoyed. "Ah! Wow thanks Mister! I was afraid this poor guy was a goner!" he exclaimed, hugging the Pokeball close to him. The Pokeball rocked for a few moments, and a white light came spewing from it. Standing in front of the pair was a tired looking Sandshrew.
"Ah! Picnic! You're safe!" The boy exclaimed. It was then that the Sandshrew turned and held out his paws expectantly. "Huh? But why would you want one of those?" He asked, though he did what the Sandshrew seemed to be telling him, dragging a potion from out of his bag and placing it in the shrew's care. It waddled to him and dropped the potion in front of him, before waddling back to his trainer.
"Thanks, Mister! We'll watch out for Gulpin in the future!" and with that the boy sped away, leaving the Gulpin to Alex. What a helpful kid. However, the battle was still going on in front of Alex, though the same moves from the last turn had been used, the Swinub knocking the Gulpin back, covered in a gross goo from the other creature's fist. ---- Battle! Wild Gulpin |Level 10| HP: 5/37 HP Status: Normal Gulpin used Pound! Gulpin was hurt by hail! You smell like a cupcake...gimme.
VS.Alex's Rudolph |Level 10|HP: 10/33 HP Status:Normal Rudolph used Tackle! Ugh...
--Picnic the Sandshrew gifted you with a potion! Put it in your bag? |

Alex was fairly pleased with Rudolph so far, the Swinub was doing fairly well considering it was the first time that he'd ever used the Pokémon in a Battle. Still, the boy had his Pokémon back so they could finish this thing off at least, the kid and his Sandshrew had given him a potion as a thank you, which Alex placed into his bag before grabbing one of the Great Balls he had. This thing was weakened but still looked fairly energetic, and he decided that with how much damage it could do to Rudolph, it wasn't worth trying a Poké Ball.
The kid and his Pokémon had run off already, which was good since he shouldn't have been out here in the first place. Plus it seemed that this was just as simple as the Gulpin swallowing the Poké Ball, nothing else seemed to be going on here.
"Great job Rudolph, but it's my turn now. Once we're done here, you can get some rest." he said to his Pokémon, before throwing the Poké Ball at the Gulpin. He wasn't really intending to really use the thing, but he wasn't going to leave it out here to do this again either. Besides, he supposed that he did not have a proper Poison-Type Pokémon anyway, as Sunder and Arawn didn't specialize in Poison.
Still, if nothing else there was always the chance of running into someone who wanted to trade for the thing anyway. But from what he'd seen, he didn't care for this Poison-Type very much, though his only real experience had been with Nidorans when he was younger anyway.
[Feels crappy, but eh. Using a Great Ball to try to capture the thing, and placing the potion into his bag.]

Hail came down rhythmically in the battle field as it touched the ground leaving an icy cold touch to the feel to it. But that didn’t seem to bother Rudolph all that much as he was already used to the icy cold temperatures where his natural habitat had once been from before. The Gulpin hadn’t been too lucky on the hail as he couldn’t avoid the storm that kept falling down upon them. The ice was fierce as it didn’t seem to let up any time soon for Alex and his pokemon, but it was clear that determination was on their side in order to win this one and keep on going. It was true that the Gulpin had been weakened quite a bit but it still had a lot of strength left to battle. His health was already in the red zone a warning that this battle was going to end soon. The Gulpin still had a bit of muster left in it to fight. Perhaps today was just not the Gulpin’s day for battling, as everything seemed to be siding against it. But it seemed that Alex had other plans for it. He took out a ball that looked like he was going to capture the wild pokemon. But the poison type didn’t seem so keen on it right away nor wanted to be captured. But t seemed that its fate was already sealed as he tossed it, the ball went right out of his hands. As Alex went forward, and tossed the great ball into the air, it landed right next to the Gulpin. The blue ball tapped the Gulpin slightly; it activated the ball and released an energy that sent the Gulpin back in side in a bright light. Once the Gulpin disappeared into it, the pokemon was secured in the great ball as it wiggled once…twice…and a third time as the red dot in the center blinked, showing that the pokemon had been caught. And to even seal this deal more the red dot flashed with a ping to announce the capture between the Gulpin to Alex’s party. Rudolph on the other hand seemed to show much relief now that this battle was over with. Wiggle! Wiggle Ting! Congratulations! You've successfully caught the Gulpin! OOC: Could Rudolph get his three levels? I'd also like to replace Mud-Sport with Mud-Slap, I'd also like Krieger and Mato replaced in my party with Desolate and Uziel. Thanks. GulpinName: Maw Gender: Female Level: 10 Attacks: Pound, Yawn, Sludge, Poison Gas Ability: Liquid Ooze Nature/Personality: TBD Gulpin Name: Maw Gender: Female Level: 10 Attacks: Pound, Yawn, Sludge, Poison Gas Ability: Liquid Ooze Nature/Personality: TBD IC: Alex managed to capture the thing, so that was one thing taken care of at least. "Good work Rudolph." he said before tossing a treat to his Pokemon. It had been his first experience with Rudolph and the Swinub had done fairly well, obviously lacking a proper ground attack caused some issues but overall the Pokemon had done well. It helped that he wasn't bothered by the hail like the other Pokemon were, Ice-Types hadn't been that common in Kanto, Alex had never managed to catch one. Still, with the kid gone, hopefully to his home since he'd run off before Alex could stop him, with hail coming down, even under tree cover out here a kid shouldn't be running around outside. Nothing he could do about it now though, so he placed Rudolph back into his PokeBall, and looked at his map again, he still needed to get to Cherrygrove and then he could at least get out of the hail or wait for it to pass at least. So Alex started walking toward the city once again, not really needing to use his coat as cover while he was under the trees. He just hoped the weather didn't get any worse than it was at the moment, plus once he got to the city he could at least wait out the hail, assuming nothing else came up of course. There was always something causing problems somewhere after all, and the hail wasn't exactly that heavy or large, so while it might hurt, it wasn't going to do too much damage, not enough to prevent kids from going out or Gulpin from swallowing Pokeballs anyway. [Meh, sorry about crappy quality, still need to get back into posting for myself. lol]

The wild weather that had been plaguing the Johto region had left many wild pokemon and trainers alike scurrying for shelter. While the hail wasn't very heavy or large, their was an abundance of it being rained down from above, the sheer amount of hail had caused one particular wild pokemon a world of grief as its nesting place had been damaged by the wild weather leaving it without shelter and in a terrible mood.
Thankfully the cold wild weather had begun to pass as the sun begun to escape from begin the clouds. The change in weather had not improved the mood of a wild snake pokemon whose home had been destroyed as a result of mother nature's work, the wild Ekans was looking to vent its frustration before it completely boiled over. The wild Ekans noticed a human walking towards Cherrygrove City, this was its opportunity to sneak up behind the male human and launch an attack as it began slithering along the grass of Route 30 hissing violently as it closed the ground between itself and its new target.
There's a snake in my boot! Wild Ekans (Lvl. 9) Appeared! How will Alex react to this new threat? Weather = Sunny

As Alex was walking, the weather had started to clear up, and the sun had come out. Which was fine with him, there were still a few bits of hail coming down here and there, but nothing major and it wasn't enough or large enough to worry about. As he was walking though, he noticed that it seemed most Pokemon in the area seemed to be hiding still, which made sense he supposed, they didn't want to run out and then suddenly have it start up again. With the occasional impact of the few remaining bits of hail, Alex didn't hear the Ekans, as the things were already quite stealthy to begin with, but the same wasn't true for one of his Pokemon, as Uziel's Pokeball burst open and he jumped in front of the snake.
The Rattata's ears had allowed him to hear the snake, even inside of his Pokeball and he could tell from how it was moving, that it was headed straight for his Trainer. Alex had turned to see what Uziel was doing, before he saw the snake ahead of him which his own Pokewmon was blocking. "Thanks Uziel, I didn't even notice it. Hit it with a Quick Attack, I don' t think this thing wanted to make friends."
He was glad that his Rattata had heard the thing, a bite from one of them could have left him poisoned and being out here with an Ekans bite wasn't exactly his idea of a good time. He knew from what they found out about Ekans in Kanto how dangerous the things were, and this one seemed aggressive, which was odd. Most Ekans tended to hide, rather than start a fight, so something had probably upset the thing. He was sure that Uziel could deal with the thing though, so he wasn't too concerned with that, now that they knew it was there, the snake had lost that advantage.

Sincerest apologies for the poor update, but I’m just trying to keep us as close to the 5 day limit as I can right now… and it’s getting late. The purple rattlesnake-like creature hissed viciously as Alex’s Rattata stepped forward. It seemed to be rather angry at something, though quite what was a mystery. As the sun beat down on the two Pokémon, Uziel darted forward at top speed to intercept the Ekans before it did anything at all to his beloved trainer. Ekans hissed once again, and seemingly began to drool a little. The sight of a little rat had made it hungry all of a sudden, and it dreamed of its next meal. The little morsel that sparked this promptly slammed its full body weight into Ekans’s head, quickly bringing the Poison type back into the present day as it reeled from the impact. Ekans barked in disgust at Uziel, rather offended that a meal on legs would do such a thing to a would-be diner. Glowering at its opponent, Ekans opened its incredibly flexible jaws as wide as it could, wrapping them around Uziel’s body and chomping down hard. As Ekans’s fangs penetrated his flesh, Uziel cried in excruciating pain, desperately trying to wriggle free. After a few moments, Ekans realised that it would be more trouble than it was worth to try and eat this thing until he fainted, so it released the rodent and just sat there waiting for the next attack.
