Everything seemed to be in place (Despite the awful smell that was coming in from the Surskit to warn away the predators) Avila with Chloe's help had managed to get the Surskit's health down low.And as well as managing to keep the pokemon weakened with an aditional Leach seed that certainly proved to be useful. Now there came the exciting part of trying to capture the Surskit.Avila had plenty of pokeballs, but she would likely try to by more before they went into Azalea forest. The Forest trees loomed over head in the distance towards the south knowing that it would be very soon where she would enter into it. She would decide with the pokemon battle with Bugsy if her pokemon were strong enough to challenge the forest and the secrets that were within it.
The water glistened from the movement that the Surskit was making, and the moonlight glimmered off of it. Avila knew she'd remember this moment for certain and as well as her pokemon would too. THough Pyrrhus kept glancing back and forth between pokemon and as well as the fantastic sight he knew that his trainng wasn't over yet, there might be a few more battles that he had to go through. "Alright Chloe stand back, let's see if this does it!" Avila called out as she took out a greatball from her pocket knowing this would be useful. It worked last time capturing the Hoppip so why not try again on the surskit?
"Here it goes,Surskit you're about to be mine!" She called out as she tossed the greatball into the air hoping to land its mark against the pokemon that she had wanted to capture. At least she could say to Bugsy that she had captured a bug pokemon if he ever asked. The pokeball was hurled into the air, and was about ready to strike the Surskit. Only time could tell now if the bug pokemon would be caught or not.
Ooc: Using another greatball to try to catch the surskit, deducting it from inventory.

Feeling the seeds sap away at it's energy, the Surskit was finding the battle difficult to continue with. Skating on the surface of the moonlit water, the small bug had wanted to force the opponent away with a horrendously sweet smell, not keep them drawn to it. Regardless, that plan had failed many turns ago and because of that, had left the Pokemon in it's current state. Unable to rid the Leech Seed, the Pokemon had no choice other than to keep moving. It's previous attack had soaked everything nearby with a veil of water, not that it bothered the Surskit in the slightest. It was more of a safety measure to defend itself from certain attacks but it was going to do very little against Chloe. Again, it was more made out of desperation than anything else.
Eyes squinting nervously to the opposing trainer, the Surskit could feel it's frail body tremble as it's movements began to slow down. Expecting to be finished off with the next hit, Avila had something else in mind and prepared for her plan by plucking a lone Great Ball out from her belongings. Too weak to make sense of the situation it was about to fall victim to, the Pokemon continued with it's movement from left to right, only stopping when the ball struck it's body. The red light dragging the creature inside, the Great Ball fell back down and landed on the grass as it began to wobble precariously.
WIGGLE. WIGGLE. WIGGLE. . . . TING!

And with some worry as she was on the edge of her seat (If she were sitting down right now) This capture would've been something that Avila had wanted for some time. In the future she'd be able to raise the Surskit without a problem. "Alright we did it!" Avila said proudly as her Servine and as well as Quilava understood what was going on. Capturing new pokemon and having new team mates was certainly exciting by any means. They had accomplished a lot together within this short time of tranng and it was starting to near its end. It was almost too dark to see in front of your face but Quilava's light helped from his flames. One more battle should do it, Pyrrhus was already starting to catch up with the other pokemon's levels, and soon they'd be facing Bugsy. Avila walked over to where her greatball was as it rested on the shoreline. She picked it up and it was sent to her box almost instantly since her party was already full of six pokemon. "Say Pyrrhus how about we do one more training set and then challenge Bugsy in the morning? I think we're almost done here." Avila said with a smile knowing they had come a long way so far and they were nearly done. She'd be proud if Quilava was able to take down everyone but it seemed impossible at this rate. That's why she had Archimedes her Tranquil and as well as, Blazebit her Charmeleon. With the three of them and added back up she could almost taste victory. In fact it probably tasted choclately or something along those lines. With that, they began to press forward but only after Avila sent Chloe back into her pokeball where Chloe could get some rest. They had one more pokemon to face. And Avila was certain that Pyrrhus could sense the tension that was building. But heay it was alright to be nervous when battling a gym leader. It was clear to say that her battle with Falkner hadn't gone well the first time, but now she was very well prepared since it was well known that Bugsy had bug type pokemon. And what were two ways of taking down bugs? Fire and bird pokemon! Ooc: Boxing Surskit. Also before I forget, I'm teaching Permifrost Ice Beam, and deleting odor sleuth. Teaching Chloe Grass Knot and deleting Tackle for it. removing tms from profile after this. A spark of intuition telling both Avila and Pyrrhus that something else was lurking close by, the two continued their late night training session in hopes of finding atleast one more opponent. With all the racket they had been making, it wouldn't be too surprising if most Pokemon had since upped and left, to find a better place to slumber. The members of her team she had hoped to raise had each gained experience in one way or another, enough for her to believe that challenging Bugsy would be next to tick off of the list of things to do. Still, well prepared enough to be training in the darkness, the two continued to progress through the route all until something finally caught their attention.
A bush rustling frantically, enough for Pyrrhus to suddenly become high alert, he stepped forward almost protectively and eyed the shifting foliage. As the branches began to part, a beam of light shot out, blinding anyone who would've gazed in that exact area. But it wasn't a Pokemon as the light soon lowered with a clank, showing that it was in fact a figure holding onto a lantern. Tall and portly, it appeared to be a middle aged man, dressed from head to toe in hiking gear and carrying equipment that looked equal to his own body weight. A handle rustling through his messy beard, he staggered his way out of the bush and quickly spotted Avila.
"Ooh.. Hello there!" Calling out with a bit of a grunt followed by his jolly tone of voice, he brushed his clothes down and curled his hidden lips into the shape of a smile. "Fancy seeing someone out this late a night. A trainer?" Showing some interest, he noticed the Quilava by her legs and instantly knew that was the case. The fact that she was in possession of Pokeballs, let alone Pyrrhus, was a huge give away. "I was just explorin' the area but since we're both here, how about a quick battle? I could do with a warm up before we go on into Union Cave!" Exclaiming his interest, Anthony issued her with a challenge and threw a Pokeball forward before she even had a chance to respond.
Hiker Anthony has challenged Avila to battle! He sends out Geodude (Level 11) to begin! Please select a Pokemon.

Avila thought for awhile that she was alone. The inability to sleep hadn't even dawned to her just yet since she had been busy for most of this time. Though a voice quickly caught her attention after she picked up Surskit's ball and he went into the PC until further notice. The pokeball disappeared in a quick flash as it seemed satsifying enough that she caught a new pokemon. As Avila managed to make out who the person was she realized it had been a Hiker. Well she shouldn't be too surprised, the hikers came left and right through Union Cave. With pokeball in hand, the hiker sent out a rather familiar pokemon called Geodude, "Of course I wouldn't mind a battle. I haven't been able to sleep this evening and I've been training my Quilava for most of the evening to go against the gym leader." Avila explained as Pyrrhus gave a soft nod towards the Hiker in acknowledgement.
"Alright Pyrrhus you're going first but I think you wouldn't exactly do well against a Geodude how about I swap you out for someone else. Let's go Chloe!" She called out as she took the pokemon's pokeball in hand and soon released it to reveal the familair pokemon named Servine. The snake grass pokemon soon appeared in a bright red flash as she appeared, almost with a smile on her face realizing that this might be too easy for her.
"Chloe, use Leaf Tornado!" Avila called out a Chloe quickly spun around and began to cause the leaves to whip up back and forth. Pyrrhus was at Avila's side at the time after being called back as he continuously watched the leaves as Chloe continued to gather them up. Once she had enough she sent the tornado in the direction of the Geodude preparing for the attack head on. This would be one lucky of a draw if the Geodude managed to survive this attack.
Ooc: Pyrrhus was sent out first, swapped for Chloe the Servine. Chloe used Leaf Tornado.

Hiker Anthony was very impressed to see Avila training her Pokemon even at such a late time. He thought she must be a good trainer if she was willing to stay up at all hours of the night willing to battle and he could not wait for the battle to start. " It is not a common sight to see such a young lass wiling to train so late at night and I admire that. I do hope this will be a good battle. I cannot say I have seen too many trainers around these parts using a Quilava so however this battle goes I will get to see a uncommom Pokemon if nothing else." Shortly after he spoke however Avila made it clear that she was going to switch Pokemon. Although Quilava was an uncommon sight her next Pokemon was really rare to see in Johto especially for someone so early in their journey. As Chloe the Servine took Pyrrhus's place the hiker was in awe that Avila had two Pokemon he usually did not get to see. " My word you have an impressive collection of Pokemon. However as you did switch out I will at least get a free turn out of it. Geodude let's start out with a Tackle attack to start things off." The rocky Pokemon charged ahead and tackled Chloe doing hardly anything to the serpent as she shrugged off the attack. With the hikers free turn over it was time for her to strike. A mighty wind began to blow around her as leaves from trees shook in the trees. The leaves began to fall from the trees and form a leaf tornado that headed straight for Geodude. The leaves began to scratch the rocky Pokemon's body at such a high velocity that it's body began to crack. Just as things looked to be over however Geodude somehow remained standing thanks to it's sturdy body. " Wow that was a mighty strong attack there. It looks like my Geodude's sturdy ability managed to kick in just in time there. Let's not miss this chance to attack again and try another Tackle." Hoping for better results this time the rock and ground type Pokemon tackled Chloe again with all of it's might and just like before she brushed it off as if it was nothing more than a tap. Anthony was astonished that a Pokemon could take two tackle attacks and shrug them off. He was certainly impressed to say the least as he looked over at Avila. " I never did introduce myself did I? My name is Anthony and as you can probably tell I am a hiker at heart. May I ask what you name is?" He said as he tried to keep his mind off of the embarrassing tackle attacks. Anthony"s Geodude: | Level 11| Health: 3% (1/33 HP) Status: Normal, I'm one sturdy dude! Move: Tackle x2
Avila's Chloe: | Level 22 | Health: 87% (57/65 HP) Status: Normal, More like hard headed! Move: Pyrrhus sent out and then switched for Chloe, Leaf Tornado
Ooc note: Geodude hangs on thanks to Sturdy leaving it with 1 hp.

Avila was surprised had she really done well with her training? Was she ready to take on Bugsy? Just because he was a Hiker really didn't mean much but she knew that the challenge was waiting for her. Chloe looked ready (Though she wasn't enthused just yet on using a grass pokemon in the battle against bug.) She had three pokemon lined up ready for it. So maybe Chloe would be used just in case, at least the Hiker was having a good time as she heard him laugh. It was a nice sound to hear as her troubles were moved away from Team Rocket, she'd make sure that Team Rocket would be taken down each time she came across them. "Thanks I'm surprised that your Geodude was able to handle that attack, Chloe's Leaf Tornado is one of her strongest moves but she has others of course." Avila said as he also seemed impressed how she had managed to acquire some rare pokemon along the way, it was true that they were only found in the Unova region but she supposed she should explain that part too.
"I recieved Chloe in the Unova festival, when she was still a Snivy. I suppose we clicked almost instantly, like my starter pokemon did. She has proven to be a very strong pokemon, I'm glad you could at least enjoy seeing her in a battle." "chloe use Grass Knot, this should finish it!" Avila called out knowing that this final move would take down the Geodude. Chloe reached forward as a sharp vine reached forward and twisted into a sharp knot around the Geodude. Being a rock type pokemon this one was probably going to hurt a whole lot, more than the two tackles that the Geodude had probably faced earlier.
ooc: Chloe used Grass Knot.

Anthony's Geodude barely hanging on, mainly thanks to it's Sturdy ability, the Hiker could feel a slight bead of sweat form and roll down his temples. He had expected a warm up, not an annihilation. Sturdy would only kick in with devastating attacks, indicating Avila was indeed a strong trainer. Still, she may have been strong but she was certainly pleasant enough. Body drooping slightly as she didn't offer her name in return for knowing his own, Anthony decided not to push for an answer. Some trainers preferred to not make any connections and he did just force his way into her training session. He was atleast indulged in the back story between Avila and the Servine, learning of how and where they met which brought a subtle smile to his bearded face. "I see. The Unova Festival was some time ago, eh? It makes sense for the two of you to be so close."
Looking over to his own Pokemon, who was just barely hanging on, Anthony chimed in once again. "Both myself, Geodude and my other partner.. We've been hiking mountains for as long as we can remember. For us, it is about making memories but battles are fun along the way too. Right buddy? Heheh." Letting out a bit of laughter, the Geodude did return a weak smile, mainly knowing that it's time was almost up. "Stand tough, pardner! Use Defence Curl to keep yerself going!" About to curl up into a tight ball, it found the motion difficult to fulfil, mainly because Chloe's vines had already been wrapped around it's boulder like body. Gripping tighter as the vine knotted up around the Pokemon, Chloe lifted the Geodude up with her bundled vines before smashing it against the ground, claiming victory.
Not entirely surprised but rather feeling sorry for his friend, the Hiker lifted up a spare Pokeball to withdraw the Geodude to safety but in return, pulled out a second Pokeball to continue on with. "Well, well. You sure got me! You're a lot stronger than I thought you'd be! Next one then, this is!..." Pausing mid sentence, he threw the ball up into the air, the extruding flash of light revealing a muscled up Pokemon, who pounded it's fists together whilst smirking. "Machop!"

Ooc: Replace leer with FlameWheel for Pyrrhus Also Chole uses Vine Whip!
Bic: As the large grassy vines came forward, they whipped the Geodude so fast and hard the geodude didn't have enough strength to hold on and collapsed in a heap of rock in the ground next to its trainer. Avila did feel a bit sorry but if she had to win this battle she had to go about what the trainer was known for, to win and have strategy behind it. The hiker quickly withdrew his fainted partner, then took out the next pokeball. Avila had no interest in switching out Chole, she was doing just fine and looked very confident in herself as she was ready to continue on battling as she shook the leaves on her snaky tail. Avila couldn't help but wonder what Servine would evolve into next, and to her guess it probably had to be another snake.
"Yes we hit it off on a good note when we first met, I got a couple of other pokemon from the Unova region but I think Chole is staying with me, I want to train her to be really tough one day." Avila said sounding hopeful as the hiker seemed impressed. However he appeared to be shocked when he discovered that Chole was a lot stronger than he first thought. "Just don't judge a book by its cover the next time you try to battle someone. I may just be a kid but my family comes from a long line of dragon tamers." Avila said with a soft smile knowing this might shock the hiker even more. Although Avila didn't have any dragon pokemon just yet, she wouldn't mind waiting just a bit longer to get one and it'd be worth it in the end.
The hiker tossed his second pokeball into the air and revealed the muscle pokemon known as Machop. Chole narrowed her eyes a bit as she saw that it had some confidence as it smacked its palm with the other hand that was balled into a fist. Clearly this Machop meant buisness, but Avila and Chole were a force to be reckoned with. At this point Avila was already making her next move on the Machop and this would be an interesting battle. "Alright Chole use Vine Whip!" She called out pointing a finger in the direction of where the Machop was. On the orders, Chole brought out two green vines from behind her arms. They snaked around looking for their next target, and unfortunately for Machop it'd be him.

Anthony smiled at Avila as she made her desire of making Chloe stronger. The way she had fought so far was nothing short of amazing. " If you keep raising Chloe the way you have I have no doubts she will grow stronger. I am still in awe after my Geodude fell so easily to her." It was a bit hard for Anthony to admit it but he had greatly underestimated Avila's skill. Her words were quite true and a lesson for him to take to heart. " I certainly will be more careful when it comes to estimating the skills of someone I challenge to a battle. I can see the burning spirit of a dragon tamer in you right now. You do not even need to use a dragon against me to see that now. I guess I am getting my comeuppance with how easily you have taken control of this battle." He could not really think of any real excuse for his ignorance at the start of the match but now he really had a change of heart. Anthony still was not ready to give in even with his newfound respect as Machop could still fight. " Machop things are not going so well but do not give in just yet, use Karate Chop." Chloe had already started her attack as Anthony finished speaking. She started whipping Machop mercilessly with her vines for as long as she could. The young fighting type had quite an admirable spirit and hung onto its consciousness despite the pain. It lifted a hand and landed a powerful karate chop right onto Chloe's skull hardly causing her any discomfort. Machop might still be standing but it would not be for much longer and Anthony knew it. " Machop we tried our best but I think we are about to be bested. Hang tough until the end."Anthony"s Machop: | Level 11| Health: 28% (11/39 HP) Status: Normal, My what strong whips you have! Move: Karate Chop
Avila's Chloe: | Level 22 | Health: 76% (50/65 HP) Status: Normal, Whipped you good! Move: Vine Whip

"Well, the key with Grass Knot is the heavier the pokemon, the stronger the move is. I believe Geodude's a pretty heavy pokemon." Avila said with a soft smile. "But I'm sure Geodude and Machop will be great partners for you in battle too. And Thank you for the compliment." Avila said with a smile as she looked back at Anthony he sure was a gentleman at least far better than the rival Silver had been.
"Chloe, are you alright? That must've hurt!" Avila called out toward her grassy snake friend. Chloe winced a bit from the pain that had hit her skull, but she managed to shake it off, Chloe was still standing despite that strong karate chop. The vine whip had done a considerable amount of damage to the Machop but he wa still standing. "Servinee!" Chloe called out in response to show that she was alright and ready for more. Perhaps it was time to turn things up a notch, Chloe knew Vine whip and Grass Knot as tough move, but there was another move that was a bit stronger than the two that might help them out here.
"That's good to see you're alright, we'll make sure you and the others are rested up for next time." Avila said with a smile. "Now Chloe use Leaf Tornado!" She called out and in response she could see that Chloe was spinning her tail around on the battle field. The winds were picking up and she began to gather leaves of all kinds from Azalea town to make sure that this would be one heck of an attack. Once she had gathered enough leaves she sent them towards the Machop. Would this be the final strike? Avila and Chloe could only hope so as she held onto her glasses to make sure they didn't accidentally fall off while the battle was still going on. Anything else that wasn't buckled down might as well be sucked into the flurry of leaves, thank goodness this wasn't a real tornado!
After this battle, Avila believed it was time to face Bugsy, and he better be ready! Avila's confidence was soaring and it helped with all the training that she had been doing.
Ooc: Chloe used Leaf Tornado.

It had been some time since Anthony had encountered a truly pleasant trainer to battle, Avila being a vast improvement over the red-haired kid who skulked about with his team. The last time he'd crossed paths with him, Anthony had been treated to a battle of the 'mons and words. Not every trainer was quite as rough around the edges, but many were fresh out of Union Cave and looking to get to the Center as quickly as possible, simply exhausted and prone to some snappishness. So his interactions with this aspiring dragon tamer was a refreshing turnaround, and his wide, toothy smile despite being on the losing end of things was the genuine article. Sometimes battles were just an extension of interactions between trainers, and not just a chore or training to be done, and immensely enjoyable because of it. "That they are. I couldn't ask for better Pokemon!" Anthony said proudly, his Machop flexing its muscles in response despite its fatigue. "If they can hold their own against a powerful trainer for even a little inkling of time, it's enough for me."
He didn't need some flashy, super-strong Pokemon to win battles - he was more than content with his rough and tumble partners, who'd been with him through so much. The hiker seemed visibly surprised when Chloe made her next move, the whirling wind stirred by her attack threatening to blow his hat away before Anthony put one massive hand on his head to keep it in place. "Hang on Machop!" he roared over the intensifying tornado of leafy debris, watching with a sinking heart as his Fighting-type couldn't muster the energy to keep itself rooted in place. Drawn in by the suction generated by Avila's Servine, Machop hit the debris rotating at a rapid enough speed that they dealt serious damage, sapping what was left of its health. Chloe let up after a few more rotations, looking quite pleased when her opponent simply toppled to the ground without making a noise.
Anthony let out a faint sigh, though he seemed to have accepted his defeat as inevitable at the hands of such a skilled trainer. As he recalled his fainted Pokemon, a smile crinkled his mouth once more before he spoke out. "Whew! That was some battle. With Pokemon that strong, I bet you could handle the gym in Azalea easily." Rustling about in his pockets, the hiker walked over and offered a small wad of cash to Avila, making sure she accepted it before he stepped away, angling himself towards the town. "We may have lost, but it was very much enjoyable. Good luck on your training, and maybe I'll see you around sometime!" Anthony waved cheerily before he set off, leaving Chloe and Avila to revel in their success.

It didn't take much for the Machop to be taken out. The leaf debris flew past the two, the trainer and her pokemon with a powerful force. Then it struck the Machop several times for a powerful blow. Who knew that leaves could do such a sharp damage towards other pokemon? Chloe seemed satisfied with her work and it wasn't long before the Machop collapsed, but the shame didn't last long for it as the Hiker called it back into its pokeball where the Machop could rest. Chloe was the only one standing at this point and the Hiker looked stunned. But he admitted defeat.
"Thanks that was a great battle!" Avila said as she saw the Hiker looked a bit upset, she felt a little bit bad but she knew that was the way that battles went. Someone won and someone lost, simple as that. She picked up the pocket money that the hiker had given her as Chloe returned over to her trainer. The pokemon looked a little bit tired but after a bit of rest she would probably be in fighting shape. "And see you around, Hiker!" She added, half wondering herself if she'd see the hiker again in the future. It was possible if she visited Azalea Town again he might still be here.
"So what do you think, Chloe are we ready to take on the gym now?" She asked as she looked down at the grassy snake.
"Serrrvinnee!" The snake called out. Although she couldn't understand what Chloe had said, her expression pretty much said it at this point. Chloe was ready for a battle and she hoped that the others were too. Up next was to face Bugsy the Gym Leader in Azalea Town. Avila knew that trekking through the forest was next, it looked daunting and there would be warnings all around it about getting lost. She'd worry about that later and stock up on supplies, since she knew she'd need them on her way. "Well then let's go." She said calling back her Chloe and began to head toward the direction of the gym. It was time! And Bugsy better be ready!
Ooc: End thread. Next one will be in Bugsy's Gym.
