(Requesting a Silver encounter, if I may...)
Cherrygrove had plenty of action, or so it seemed. Finally relaxing after a strange situation with three Houndour and the young boy she'd met, Sam and her Pokemon were enjoying a nice, quiet picnic in the autumn, albeit chilly breeze. Each of her Pokemon had to settle into each corner of the blanket in order for it to stay in place when the occasional wind gust hit. Even though it was cold, Sam preferred it over the awful heat waves that had plagued the land in the Summer. When it was cold, you could just add more layers. When it was hot, there was only so much you could take off before it was illegal and indecent.
Food was distributed and the Pokemon and trainer began to eat heartily. "So, guys..." Sam mumbled between munchings. "I think after this we should hit the road and head towards Violet." After scanning the faces of the three other Pokemon on the blanket, Sam figured they were in agreement. "They've got the first gym there, and it's flying type. So, Icarus should be able to zip through it quickly." At the mention of his name, Icarus perked up before flexing his muscles comically. "But i'm sure Joka and Garrus could handle the gym as well. We'll get a little bit of training in, and then I figure we'll just, ya know, dive in?"
Sam wasn't sure how to proceed, but at least her Pokemon supported her. Garrus seemed to enjoy the idea, although in his last battle he only managed one attack before rolling over sleepily. Icarus always seemed ready for action, whereas Joka seemed as though she could go either way. As if picking up that Sam was thinking about her, Joka left her perch on the blanket to fly over to Sam's shoulder to continue nibbling her piece of fruit. To balance the blanket back out, Sam moved the basket over to the corner. "I guess we all agree? Violet City it is." Figuring that the store in Cherrygrove, as well as the Houndour fiasco, was all that Cherrygrove had to offer, Violet City was kind of the 'only' option unless Sam wanted to quit, which she didn't.
"Let's pack up and head on out." Swifly picking up all their things and placing it in her bag, Sam and her crew continued on. Since Garrus was just fed, he'd be pretty worthless when it came to travel, so she returned him. Joka was still nibbling, so she let her stay out until she finished, before returning her. It was just Sam and Icarus on the path now, with Cherrygrove behind them and Violet City ahead.

Route 30- - - - - - - - - - - - The bitter wind was the only unpleasant thing about the day so far, as if bringing a taste of the winter yet to come with each gust. A lone Pokémon tumbled down from the sky on the same wind, wings fluttering wildly to right itself while it screeched out in distress. Up ahead on the same path as Sam was the sole other human in immediate view, chasing after the distraught, wind-borne Pokémon, someone she would not be happy to see. A shock of crimson hair and attired in dark blue clothes, Silver was instantly recognizable by this alone, although the familiar scowl would have been a good jolt to the memory as well. He took no notice of Sam as a gust brought the Pokémon down to his height, hand lunging out to wrap around the tiny body of a Zubat.
Shaking it furiously, Silver hissed when the Zubat bit down on his hand from being jostled so roughly. "Stupid bat! I ought to pitch you right in the trash where you belong!" the youth snapped, wiping away twin beads of blood from the puncture wounds. Looking up as the wind howled around him, it didn't take long for him to register who it was that was walking his way. "Speaking of trash, look what the wind brought in," Silver said loudly once Sam was in earshot, a cruel smile curving his lips. Releasing Zubat so he could cross his arms, he raked Sam with a sneer that said he hadn't forgotten their encounter on Route 29.
"Country bumpkin makes a return. Where's the baby? Lose it already?" he taunted, ignoring Zubat as it made angry sounds at him. "I'm actually glad to see you. This worthless Zubat needs to get stronger, and who better than someone equally as worthless to battle against?" His coarse demeanor hadn't changed since their first fight, even if it hadn't been all that long ago. While Zubat had no eyes to glare with, it managed an impressive scowl directed in Silver's general direction, obviously unhappy with the misfortune of having him as a trainer.
Attention!
Silver has challenged you to a battle! He sends out Zubat (Level 8!)Please choose a Pokémon to fight with.

The only thing bitter about the day so far was the cold wind that ruffled Sam's clothing and threatened to blow her hat away. However, that all changed as soon as Silver came into view. Gritting her teeth and rolling her eyes with a groan, she could hear him sneering and leering as soon as she came within earshot. The Pokemon he was abusing seemed less than happy to be around him, and Sam had to stifle a chuckle when she noticed his angry Zubat was biting him. "Only trash I see here is you." She couldn't think of anything wittier, but Silver didn't really give her the chance to speak more as he began sneering and talking once more.
His favorite insult seemed to be country bumpkin, which was rather unfortunate considering. Her fist itched for another punch, but with a Pokemon already out, it seemed best to not agitate him further. Although, by the way the Zubat acted around Silver, it seemed clear that if Sam were to attack it's trainer, it probably would sit and watch with a box of popcorn. "Country bumpkin is back, and if you hurt that Zubat one more time i'm going to give you another bruise to match the first one."
Taking a journey was helping her find herself. She just didn't realize she'd be so aggressive... Silver brought out the worst in her, and the boy was very good at pushing buttons it seemed. Gripping Joka's pokeball with a stern grasp, Sam shrugged. "If you want to lose again, sure. I'd pit the baby against you, but I'd hate to humiliate you a second time. I think our bats should meet." Sam released Joka, who fluttered down to rest on Sam's shoulder. She was actually curious if Silver knew anything about the bat. They weren't native to this area, and it was only by her mother's luck she got it in the first place.
"Joka, you didn't have the pleasure of meeting Silver." Sam gestured towards the boy, and Joka honed in on the Zubat. However, it seemed as though the bat was hesitant, as Sam was, when they saw how the Zubat didn't like Silver. It almost felt like they were stooping to Silver's level. If they defeated the Zubat, Silver would probably hurt it more... Didn't have much of a choice though. "Joka, keep it simple with a tackle." She had a plan to use Garrus later, in order to help him get stronger. But she'd need to widdle the Zubat down first. One hit should probably do it.

Silver was less than thrilled by Sam's comeback but all he really cared about was training his Zubat so it would not be so worthless. He was ready to face anything that she could possibly throw at him or so he thought. As Joka came out of her Pokeball Silver's jaw nearly hit the floor in shock. He had never seen a Noibat before and all he knew was that they were part dragon type. " How in the name of Arceus did a punk like yourself get a dragon type? Such a rare species should belong to someone worthy like myself." As he stood in pure shock seeing a dragon type in front of him he could not even find words to describe his anger knowing that the trainer he despised so much had such a rare specimen. As stunning as the Noibat's appearance was however Sam's choice of attack had left Silver baffled. He could not accept that such a rare type would use such a common attack. As he tried convincing himself that it was a ruse Joka flew towards Zubat as she performed a full bodied tackle on the bat. Silver was sure this all had to be a trick by now but he could not sit back and do nothing. " Zubat you worthless bat use Supersonic to put that dragon in it's place before I skin you alive." Zubat may have despised Silver but it was not willing to disobey in fear of what might happen and so it began to attack by sending Supersonic waves towards Joka. Even with the blood of a dragon coursing through her veins she could not handle the powerful Supersonic waves Zubat sent her way as she began to feel dizzy. She managed to somehow stay airborne despite being tipsy but it was an erratic display to say the least. Trying to stay as focused as she could Joka kept a watchful eye on the other bat trying to make sure that Zubat would not get another chance to use such a devastating attack again. Silver's Zubat: | Level 8| Health: 57% (15/26 HP) StatusNormal, You must be joking! Move: Supersonic
Samantha's Joka: | Level 15 | Health: 100% (41/41 HP) Status: Normal, I am the batdragon! Move: Tackle

Silver seemed as charming as ever as he continued growling and snarling all over the place. Joka seemed less than pleased with the newcomer, and peered angrily over at him from Sam's side of the field. However, at least the bit of shock from Silver felt good when he was baffled about her dragon type. Wait, dragon type? Sam looked Joka up and down. The way she saw it, she didn't see much difference between the Zubat and the Noibat. They were both bats. Joka didn't spit fire or anything like that, so what was the dragon he was talking about?
Joka flittered into the sky and did a few loops, as if to show off herself while Silver muttered angrily. "Look at you, making new friends." Joka chittered in agreement before readying herself to attack. Honing in on Zubat, she knew her plight clearly. Tackling, although something like Acrobatic's or even Icarus's Volt Switch would have been better, was her order. Hurtling towards the bat with pinpoint precision, she slammed into the creature and did her best to avoid any retaliation. "By the way you treat your Pokemon, I doubt you'd be alive for long if you had a dragon. It'd probably get tired of you snarling and yelling at it and burn you to a crisp for a nice snack." Sam shrugged, and watched as Joka was Supersonic'd. Well, that was problematic.
"Joka? You alright?" Although the bat was flying, she wasn't doing it very well. Her movements were sparattic at best, and it seemed to take too much effort to keep her little body straight up in the air. "Joka, we'll let Garrus clean up from here." She suggested, returning the dragon bat. "You wanted to see the baby? Well here you go." Clicking Garrus's pokeball from her belt, she tossed it into the grass in front of her to reveal the lazy sloth. At the sight of Silver, the dopey creature grinned a bit, as if remembering his experience with the trainer. "Garrus, let's try to knock the bat out, okay? I know you're still fresh, but let's see how well you do against his Zubat. Try for a scratch. With your claws, not the glowing angry powerful fist move." Hammer Arm probably wouldn't do much good in this fight, but scratch would probably be useful. Hopefully Garrus would finish Zubat up quickly so there wasn't as much retaliation.

Unruffled by Sam's assumption he would be mauled or scorched by a dragon, Silver managed an impressive snort and rolled his eyes. "Hardly. You need a firm hand to train them and I would deliver perfectly. Better than you, anyways. How does a country loser like you even know how to handle one?" the boy spat back. Dragon-types weren't always easy to care for, especially a foreign one such as this one. He knew better than to spout anything about taking Joka into his care, seeing how attached she seemed to be to Sam. It would fuss if he stole it, and whiny Pokémon were not permitted on his team. Ever. Namesake eyes narrowing on his own whiny Zubat, Silver was contemplating threatening it again, only his disdain for being chastised by a countrified loser holding him back.
"Alright dimwit, use Leech Life and try not to be a complete failure," he ordered, voice dripping with malice as his Zubat fluttered to obey. Only Sam decided to recall her Noibat in exchange for the baby he'd been needling her about earlier. "Tch, make up your mind, bumpkin. Unless you've been shoveling Rare Candy down its throat, I doubt that little brat will do any good against me," Silver sneered, arms crossed tightly across his chest. Zubat had taken the switch fairly well, not hesitating as it dipped down to sink sharp teeth into Garrus' neck. Grunting from the uncomfortable sensation, Garrus lifted his claws up and waved them in an almost lazy way at the pesky bat.
What wasn't apparent to either trainer was the power behind that flailing, claw tips raking Zubat across one wing as it tried to extricate itself from Garrus' side. Uttering a piercing screech, the fluttering creature reared back to reveal a long red line stretched across the membrane. It was too much for Zubat to bear, wings folding inwards as it crumpled to the ground, following a low oath of fury from Silver. "Worthless!" he roared, returning the fainted bat before the urge to kick it possessed him. Immediately seizing up another ball, the maroon-haired boy sent out a familiar Cyndaquil, the fiery mouse cringing visibly as it realized its predicament. "Luck won't save you for long, bumpkin. Revenge is so close I can taste it."

"No Rare Candies. We do things the right way. Blood, sweat and tears. Bumpkin can battle and raise 'em right." Sam smirked, watching Silver struggle with what he was going to do with the Zubat. Garrus had been sent out, and Zubat had been ordered to attack. With no Joka to fight this go around, Zubat was stuck getting within close range of the Slakoth, which was probably a bad idea. Although Zubat seemed to gain some strength after biting the lazy Pokemon, Garrus's claws were within striking range, and he didn't even have to work hard for it. Pleased with himself as the Zubat crashed to the ground without so much as another twitch, the Slakoth rolled onto his stomach and gurgled happily. Sam stifled a squeal. Garrus was just way too adorable.
"Yeah, looks like Baby has grown." Sam smirked, returning Slakoth while Silver fumed on the other side of the battlefield. He's the one that ended up instigating this, so Sam would be the one to finish it and make him regret it. His Cyndaquil that she had met earlier was the next Pokemon up, and judging by the number of Pokeballs on his belt, probably the last one he had. The fire Pokemon seemed uncomfortable with the situation, but obediently scurried forward in front of Silver. It cringed though, and Sam's heart thumped to the ground unceremoniously. "Icarus, you're up." Everyone had a taste of battle except her little gliding Pokemon, and what kind of trainer would she be if she didn't let everyone play with Silver?
Releasing her electric glider, Icarus immediately zipped around in the air a moment before landing beside Sam in an electric display of talent. Eyeing Silver from across the field, Icarus growled and gnashed his teeth before looking up at Sam expectingly. "Icarus, I want you to Volt Switch out with Garrus, okay?" Sam suggested, and Icarus nodded, scurrying up Sam's leg and side to sit on her shoulder. It gave him a place to jump off of and hurtle towards the fire Pokemon. "Garrus, when you come out, I want you to Scratch Cyndaquil, okay?" It would give Cyndaquil time to prepare for what was to come, but at least there was a good chance they'd knock out the mouse before anybody got burned, quite literally. "Aaaaaand, go!"

" I very much doubt that you have avoided using rare candies but it does not matter. In either case when I win this battle I will make sure that that dragon is well taken care of. He meant every word he said as he planned to steal Samantha's Noibat as soon as he won the battle. As he sent out his next Pokemon Cyndaquil he was expecting a quick victory after all the training he had put the rodent through since their last battle. The fire type cringed at the thought of fighting Samantha again but as it feared Silver even more it begrudgingly agreed to battle her. " You had best not fail me unlike Zubat after how much we have practiced. I did not steal you for the heck of it and I will not hesitate to skin you alive if you fail me as there are plenty of other Pokemon I can replace you with." Before Silver could even issue and attack however Icarus sped towards the small fire type with a full body tackle surrounded by electricity. Not more than a moment later the Emolga switched out with one of Samantha's other Pokemon. Although the combo was not expected this Pokemon was a lot slower than the first and Silver planned to take advantage of that fact. " Cyndaquil teach this pain in the neck a lesson by using ember attack." The rodent obeyed the command to the letter and fired a small ember towards Garrus doing a small amount of damage. Trying to keep up the pace he ordered his Pokemon to attack again hoping that he could knock it out quickly. " Cyndaquil one more time ember and make sure it goes down this time." However despite scoring a second direct hit the sloth remained standing and it was rather annoyed by getting hit by two hot embers before it could even make a move. Slowly crawling forward the sloth finally got close enough to Cyndaquil to strike. Garrus lifted up his arm and scratched the poor fire type knocking it out. Silver could not believe his eyes. He had lost to the same girl twice now and he was not very happy about it at all. " How did I lose again it is impossible. Just you wait someday I will have my revenge and I will promise you this. I will not show you any mercy when that day comes not matter how much you beg. Now take this money and buy yourself a one way ticket to nowhere and pray we do not meet again." He said before storming off in a huff. As he left Garrus began to glow in a bright white light as his body started to change shape. It seemed as though he was about to evolve unless he was interrupted. Silver's Cyndaquil: | Level 12| Health: 0% (0/35 HP) Status: KO'ed KO'ed Move: Ember x2
Samantha's Garrus: | Level 16 | Health: 100% (33/50 HP) Status: Normal, Your mind has been broken! Move: Icarus: Volt Switch, Garrus: Scratch
Icarus gained 1 level thanks to his participation. He is now level 16. He also gained 1 happiness and he now has +2 happiness overall. He is trying to learn Pursuit but he already knows 4 moves. Would you like him to forget a move so he can learn Pursuit?Garrus gained 3 levels for winning plus his lucky egg and he is now level 19. He also gained +1 happiness and he has +3 happiness overall. He is trying to learn Amnesia but he already knows 4 moves. Would you like him to forget a move so he can learn Amnesia?Garrus is trying to evolve. Do you want to allow him to evolve or do you want to stop him from evolving? Silver is forced to admit defeat and gives you 600 poke for your victory.

"Uh, you're so insufferable." Sam growled under her breath, watching as Silver continued to belittle her. She'd show him, and by she she meant her Pokemon. As much as she wanted to stride over there and give Silver another wallop on the cheek like last time, she decided against it. Anything she did was going to put Cyndaquil in danger, and she didn't want Silver to take her hitting him again out on the poor mouse. By the way Cyndaquil cringed upon seeing her, Sam didn't doubt the fire Pokemon already felt the pain from the last encounter. And, of course, seeing Garrus probably didn't make anything easier. However, Silver's Cyndaquil did fall. Garrus was struck by the fiery embers, but survived relatively unscathed, considering. "Good job, Garrus! You too, Icarus!" She cheered, hugging Icarus since he was closest. Silver was already striding off in his best grumpy fashion, leaving Sam alone with Icarus and Garrus. As she went to approach her sloth and give him a hug as well, a bright light enveloped around him, causing Sam to look away. "Whoah, Garrus, are you okay?" Not accustomed to evolution and the powers it had, this was all quite a shock for the girl. And, since she opted out of a laboratory starter, Garrus evolved a few levels after them, so she was a bit of a late bloomer considering. As the light receded, another Pokemon stood in Garrus's place. Well, sort of stood. Although the dopey gaze was gone, the white energetic sloth in front of her was definitely Garrus. An agitated Garrus. His claws flexed, and his eyes darted left and right for a route that he could run rampant and crazy on. Blood boiling in an agitated fashion, Garrus began to jump around like crazy, enjoying his newly found energy. Sam's mouth opened in surprise as she watched the Vigoroth, and finally put the pieces together. "Whoah! Garrus! You look, you look great!" She smiled, bending down to hug the Pokemon. Garrus ran towards her and barreled into her, not fully adapted to his own strength and speed. Sam didn't mind though, and merely laughed in the grass and leaves while Garrus continued his shenanigans. Even Icarus seemed impressed. "Yeah, guess we can't call Garrus lazy anymore..." She smirked, continuing the path to Violet. They'd be there soon, and she'd need to prepare for her first gym battle. Ugh, more people. -FIN-
