The group of boys were incredibly adorable, especially the way they all greeted her in unison. Raising her hands to her cheeks, the aspiring nurse squirmed on the spot with a large, rosey cheeked smile stretched across her face. "Hello to you all, too!!" One particular thing which stood out to Catherine was the fact that they were called the Munchlax Scouts. A lover of the Pokemon herself, Catherine always carried around a box of Munchlax patterned plasters in case of emergency. If she was a young boy living in Goldenrod, this would absolutely be her dream scout group to be a part of! Learning a little more about Whitney, Catherine stared on in awe before giggling at the interaction between the boys. Although she was planning on facing the Gym Leader at some point, there was one thing she didn't know and that was just what Pokemon she used in the first place. "So! Her name is Whitney?!" Catherine cut in with a chirp of excitement. "I don't know much about her or what Pokemon she uses. But if she has cute Pokemon, then I can't wait to see them!" Cheering with a fist pump to the air, Catherine found most Pokemon cute, even the scary one which tried to eat her and Atlas earlier.
Receiving something she would describe as a compliment, the young girl rubbed the back of her head before sticking her tongue out playfully. "Leviya became this strong all on her own. But I am sure a battle with you and your Psyduck will help her that bit more!" Listening in on the boy's strategy, it was a good one at that. "Yawn, huh?" Muttering out loud to herself with a thoughtful expression, it soon turned to one of surprise. "Ooh! Leviya! Be careful!" Realising a little too late just what yawn was capable of, by the time the Gyarados had retracted her jaws from the attack, the Psyduck had one or two things to say, or yawn, about. Instantly, the posture of the large water leviathan slouched lazily, her already large jaw extending as she let loose a loud yawn, her eyes becoming heavy. Shaking her head, she tried to fight this tired feeling off but it wasn't successful in the slightest. In fact, Catherine suddenly felt a yawn escape her lips, followed by Atlas by her side. Yawns truly were contagious. "G-Gah! That was such a smart move, Tod! No we're ALL feeling sleepy!" Rubbing at her eyes before clapping her hands against her cheeks, Catherine tried to focused herself. "We can do this Leviya! Stay awake for a bit longer! Give the Psyduck another Bite!" Upon giving her order, she knew it wouldn't take much longer for the Gyarados to fall to sleep. When that time came, she did have an item or two that could help but until then, she needed to keep herself awake.

As the Munchlax squad looked onto the next round with great excitement and anticipation Ted wanted to show what his Psyduck could really do when it was pushed to it's limits however he also wanted to talk more about Whitney as well. " Yes she really likes cute Pokemon and most of the Pokemon in her gym are small but her Miltank is the star of the show. It is huge unlike her other Pokemon and it has an attack that can heal it's hp without the need of healing items. It is really cool to watch Miltank go from being in a corner to restoring it's health in seconds. Whenever we go on a trip to the gym and Whitney has Miltank out we always get so excited as most trainers are not ready to face such a strong Pokemon." Pausing for a moment to scratch his cheek he began to talk again a moment later. "Your Gyarados is even bigger though and it might actually be able to beat her Miltank which we do not see very much. I am sure we would love to be there for when you face Whitney as it should be a really cool battle to watch." As Ted finished speaking Leviya made her move on Psyduck while she could still keep her eyes open. She charged the duck while floating in mid air and bit down on Psyduck's head causing a lot of damage however in doing so it had caused the duck to get a massive headache unlocking it's psychic powers enabling it to use COnfusion to fend the giant beast off. Leviya was sent flying backwards by a blue aura before coming to a halt a few feet away from Catherine. Ted could not believe what he had seen but he sure was proud of his Psyduck for whatever it had done. " Whoa Psyduck usually struggle with Confusion but I guess Bite gave it enough energy to use it correctly. I was not expecting that at all." As the Munchlax Squad looked on in pure delight Psyduck was still standing however for Catherine the news was not as good. With a loud Yawn Leviya closed her eyes and went into a deep sleep. The giant serpent could not hear a thing as it snoozed away. Ted was shocked to see just how effective Yawn had been even if Psyduck had paid more than it's fair share to accomplish this feet. " It looks like Mommie was right. Your Gyarados seems to have fallen asleep from Psyduck's Yawn attack. I do hope this does not mean the battle is over already." He said as he waited to see what Catherine's response would be.

A smile of child like innocence stretched across her face, Catherine listened closely to the words of the Munchlax scout, as he gave a brief explanation of the local Gym Leader. Having learnt quite a bit from this conversation, the young girl was preparing herself for what sounded like a tough battle. She may have wanted to be a nurse, to heal and help the weak but by partaking in these battles, she also gained strength. Meeting other people and Pokemon this way would often teach her so much more than a book ever would and so, the idea of challenging the local Gym only became more and more exciting to her. "She has super cute Pokemon, huh!? I would love to meet them!" Clapping her hands together over such a joyous image, her eyes widened at the mention of a specific Pokemon, "A Miltank?" Tilting her head, the female knew of the species, having remembered reading about them somewhere. "Yes! Miltank are very bulky Pokemon and their Milk Drink is very nutritious! It only makes sense for Miltank to use their own milk to heal themselves in the middle of a battle!"
Clenching her fists passionately, if her opponent was able to heal themselves then she had to go fully prepared. "I have a Blissey who can also heal herself with her Softboiled move! Things like that sure are handy!" As the two Pokemon then continued with their assault, Catherine could clearly see that Leviya's movements were beginning to dwindle. After the infectious yawn from the previous turn, the giant Gyarados had been ever so slightly swaying, her heavy eyelids drooping before shooting back open again. It wasn't a nice feeling to try and fight off sleep, so with a subtle bite of her lip, the aspiring nurse began thinking up a counter measure. She could just as easily withdraw her Pokemon and use someone else to battle for her, Atlas looked ready by her side. But she had done it once with the previous trainer battle against the Snubbull and she would've rather avoid doing such a thing instead.
Feeling something nudge at her side, Catherine glanced downward, noticing that Atlas had begun rummaging around in her bag and brought out an item. Eyes widening, she grinned happily. "Of course! Why didn't I think of that? Thank you, Atlas!" Looking back over to Tod, Catherine smiled to her opponent, "Hoho! I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve, yet!" Trying to sound mysterious, the young girl skipped around the slumbering body of the Gyarados before reaching her face. Offering the sleeping Pokemon a Castelia Cone, it wasn't long at all before her nostrils began to twitch. "As for Whitney, I don't know when I'll be challenging her but... You are all welcome to watch! Ah!" With the sound of her voice, Leviya's eyes seemed to wearily open and very quickly, the girl moved to one side, out of the way. "We have a long way to go before we face a Pokemon like Miltank, so I hope you will continue to help us train... Leviya! Use Dragon Rage!"

Pleased with his plan working, Tod smirked and glanced over at his Psyduck. "Alright, this is our moment, Psyduck!" Escaping the horrible fate of a bajillion noogies was in the balance here with this battle, he couldn't afford to have that Gyarados rampaging around. Psyduck didn't seemed phased by the horrible intimidating factor from the large Pokemon, but the rest of the children, including Tod, were. "Go in for a Confusion while she's down!" The Munchlax Scout ordered, pointing his finger towards the downed Gyarados. However, watching those nostrils twitch with the cone... She was using an item to wake up the Dragon! Psyduck charged up it's psychic energies in preparation for an attack, but it was already done. Leviya was awake. That didn't stop Psyduck, who shot forward the psychic energy towards the Gyarados. It hit it's mark but seemed to almost slide off of Leviya's scales. Her defenses were pretty rock solid compared to the weak psychic attack from the duck. No matter, they still had time, right? "Psyduck, go in for another Confusion! Maybe we can inflict another status condition!" Lots of battlers only went for the damage moves, but Tod showed a good understanding of status conditions and tried to use them to his advantage. However, it wouldn't matter in the long run. Psyduck began to charge up the energy, but Tod's face fell as soon as the words 'Dragon Rage' were uttered. The hellish blue fire that erupted from the mouth of the Gyarados had all of the boys in shock and awe. Tod, who had been holding his pokeball for Psyduck the entire time, dropped it to the ground in shock. The skies seemed to dim for a moment as the fires raged, and when the aftermath was over, Psyduck was heaped over in a clump, quiet and as still as a church mouse.  Leviya unleashed the dragon fought well, and gained +3 levels and +1 happiness for her efforts! Leviya is now level 27. Happiness is now +4. Leviya is trying to learn Leer. Delete a move to make room for Leer?  Josuke observed, and gained +1 level for his efforts! Josuke is now level 18.
Tod sighed, shoulders slumping forward slightly. He'd been beaten fair and square, and although it meant a bajillion noogies for him, at least it had been a good battle. And Catherine had been a lovely battle partner. Walking forward to pick up the fallen pokeball, Tod returned his fallen Psyduck before digging into his pockets. "Well, you won, fair and square!" Tod still seemed a little shell shocked, but it wasn't anything a bajillion noogies and a nice campfire wouldn't get rid of. "You have a really strong Pokemon! But your Gyarados seems really happy, so it's okay that I lost. If I have hair left after my noogies i'll come looking for you again later so we can battle again! Hopefully you'll recognize me." The boy chuckled, ready to receive his fate. Before that, money. Tod handed Catherine her prize money with a swaggering grin. "Best of luck with Whitney! If your other Pokemon are anywhere near as powerful as Leviya, then you're gonna be just fine!"

As the eyes of Leviya burst open and the Casteliacone, once in Catherine's hands, was sucked up into the Gyarados' large jaw, the young girl skipped away to safety, in order for the battle to continue. The large leviathan had fallen victim to an attack from the Psyduck as she slept and her body could feel it. Glaring down between her whiskers at the head holding duck, the female Gyarados snorted an irate burst of hot air from her nostrils before going in for a follow up attack. Awake and ready to go, she had heard the order from Catherine loud and clear and was preparing one of her more destructive moves. From her open jaw span an array of blue flames, which flickered and danced as if replicating the movement of a graceful dragon. But as mesmerising as the attack was, it was also powerful when used correctly. Finishing off the remaining shred of whatever health Psyduck had left, Leviya's rage had caused the yellow duck to take a tumble to the ground face first, declaring Catherine as the winner.
Admittedly quite awe struck with Leviya's attack herself, it was Catherine's clapping that broke the silence. "You did it, Leviya!" Bounding forward to congratulate her Pokemon, it was a shame that Tod would likely suffer with a good number of head rustles but as a trainer, Catherine needed to make sure that her game was still up to scratch. A wide smile on her face, the girl rubbed the side of her face affectionately against the scales of the intimidating Gyarados without a care in the world. Eventually pulling herself away, Catherine turned to face both Tod and the remaining Munchlax Scouts and accepted the victory money that she was given. "You were strong too, Tod! Your Yawn strategy was super impressive! I bet you would be able to have an even match against this Whitney girl, yourself!" Sticking her tongue out playfully, Catherine hoped that there truly wasn't any hard feelings. "Heehee, we will definitely meet again! And when we do, there'll be more noogies to bet!" As Tod returned to the other boys, Catherine raised her arm into the air to bid them each a farewell, "Goodbye to you all! Dont be too hard on Tod, okay?!"
With that, Catherine thanked the Gyarados for all her hard work and withdrew her for a well deserved break. Then together, both Catherine and Atlas ventured back into the tall grass in hopes of finding more opponents. "Grah! This grass is so looooong!" After a while of walking, the girl had become fed up with parting grass with her own two hands which is when an idea hit her. "Ah! I got it!" Plucking a Pokeball out from her belt, the girl threw it forward, revealing that of a Bouffalant. Large afro aside, the creature known as Kiki had giant horns, surely they would be enough to open a clear path for them. Patting the bull on the head, the gentle giant closed her eyes warmly before looking to Catherine. "We have learnt loads about the Gym Leader, Kiki! You should train with us, too. We need to make sure your leg is all healed after all." Snorting in agreement, the two were about to continue when a mad chimp like sound boomed behind them. Turning, it seemed that Atlas had his sights on an unsuspecting Rattata up ahead. "Ah! It's a Rattata! Okay Kiki, you are up!" Patting the Pokemon's side, Kiki reared before charging straight for the tiny purple rodent. "Get in there with a Horn Attack, Kiki! Use the same attack again if it puts up a fight!"

Rattata had been minding it's own business not hurting a soul at all when it noticed Catherine's Bouffalant making her way towards it in a high speed charge. Having never battled the impressive creature before in it's life the young rat was scared beyond words as it tried to think of a way to stop the rampaging beast from trampling it to death and that is when it remembered it had razor sharp teeth that could cause Kiki great pain and hopefully force her to stop before she could poke it with her sharp, pointy horns. Rattata opened it's mouth wide as it waited for her to approach and right before she could ram it the rat leaped into the air before landing on her back. Going into attack mode Rattata bit down on her back with all of it's might trying to stop her however the pain was not enough to get her to back down. Instead the giant buffalo began to shake her back from side to side trying to send Rattata flying and as soon as the rat let go of her she charged it with her horns poking it right in the side as it lie on the ground. SLowly getting back up and in terrible pain Rattata watched in terror as Kiki began to charge at it again. With no time to spare Rattata performed the same trick it had the first time as she charged and just like before the Hyper Fang caused a fair amount of damage however Kiki was just too bulky for it's teeth to cause enough damage to stop her. As the rat went flying again from her violent shakes she had enough by now and she went for the kill. Rattata lie on the ground with a huge puncture wound from the first attack and as Kiki charged the rat had enough time to at least turn around before getting poked again. Rattata was knocked out as soon as the horn broke it's skin however it was still breathing as it clung to life by a thread. Before Kiki could charge again a pack of Raticate's surrounded their wounded friend and carried it off to safety as a number of them kept Kiki busy long enough for them to escape. Even with her foe cheating death she had emerged the victor of this battle though her back would be tender for a while after getting bit twice by the small rat. Pokemon Battle

Spotting the Rattata lurking between the blades of grass up ahead, Catherine in her Pokemon training mind set, reacted to the swift point of the Simisage's arm. With a series of crazed chimps and cries to grab her attention, he hadn't needed to try so hard, as the nurse hurried forward. Upon giving her Bouffalant, Kiki, an order, the large buffalo parted from her side and charged through the tall grass, in order to reach her opponent. "Don't run away now, little Rattata!" At times, even this girl could be unintentionally terrifying. Sticking up for itself, the Rattata was prepared to unleash it's protruding fangs into the sturdy body of Kiki but the biting attacks weren't enough to slow this Pokemon down. With her mighty horns, the Bouffalant tossed her head around, clipping the small and fragile body of the rodent numerous times, the final one being a potentially deadly strike. Kiki was typically a gentle giant but in battling situations, she would tend to stern up and fight with her all. Permanently harming her opponent wasn't on her agenda but sometimes it was difficult to control her large body just right.
"That's it, Kiki! You have almost got this!" Watching from the sidelines, Catherine cheered out to support her partner, whilst Atlas the Simisage stood beside her with his arms loosely folded. He could sense that the Rattata didn't have a huge amount of life left in it and as the second round began, it was atleast admirable with just how much the purple rodent was trying to fight back. Sinking it's fangs into the front leg of Kiki, the Bouffalant grunted out in pain. Managing to shake the rat off, Kiki made one final slam of her horns and the Rattata was down for the count. A little more injured than possibly intended, both Catherine and Atlas exchanged looks before dashing forward. "I-Is the Rattata okay?!" Backing up as a Raticate appeared to retrieve it's defeated friend, Kiki seemed somewhat distressed as attacking so harshly wasn't usually in her nature. That added with the concerned tone of Catherine heightened the Bouffalant's fear, thinking she had done wrong.
"Ah... It's already gone?" Reaching Kiki's side and resting a hand against the body of the buffalo, the trio watched as the Rattata was dragged away by it's more experienced evolution. "..Good job though, Kiki! You really are strong!" Receiving a snort in response, Catherine cradled Kiki's face as she seemed to droop. "Don't worry, I am sure that Rattata will be fighting fit again in no time!" Comforting her Pokemon, the group had their attention drawn to a nearby rustle of grass, where yet another Rattata emerged. Looking to her Bouffalant, who faltered at first, Catherine encouraged the Pokemon to continue on. "This Rattata looks ready for a fight, too! C'mon, lets go with another Horn Attack! Two to be safe! I believe in you." Hesitant, the Bouffalant eventually took a step forward. Hoping this time she wouldn't be too damaging to the little Pokemon, she went in with another set of attacks.

 Wild Rattata (Level 15) has come for vengeance! With it's Rattata friend fallen, this particular purple pest was ready to avenge it's fallen comrade. Watching the purple rat's body being drug away to the safety of the Rattata clan, Rattata was now free to direct all of it's attention to the bushy bison in front of it. Raticate soon appeared to watch as well, almost sensing that it might be needed here in a few minutes. Although it would prefer the other outcome, Raticate doubted it could drag Kiki to safety. Rattatas were much easier to wrangle. Either way, the battle was about to unfold as Kiki was given her orders. The burly bison Pokemon was a formitable opponent, and the rat would have to be on it's toes, er, paws? to make sure that it didn't meet the same fate as the comrade before. Gnashing it's teeth in an aggressive manner, Rattata attempted to intimidate the Pokemon in front of it before dashing forward. It's speed was impressive, but nothing compared to Kiki. Fangs prepped for a bite, Rattata surged forward, aiming for the hurt leg that Kiki wasn't favoring... yet. When Rattata was finished with it, Kiki would be limping all the way to a beef processing plant. It could almost taste the fur now! Fur bristling with rage, the rat continued forward. Kiki watched (probably particularly amused at this point, but dedicated and concentrated nonetheless) and waited, practically anticipating the attack to retaliate. When Rattata neared Kiki, she arched her head and clocked Rattata in the chest with a well placed horn, sending the creature into the air. She had planned to hit it once mroe on it's descent back down to the ground, but by the way the rat seemed to flop into the air, it was evident that it had fainted. This was further proven when the purple body plopped to the floor with a dusty thunk. Without so much of a twitch, Rattata had been defeated. Once again tasked with the job of clean up, Raticate scurried out from it's hiding place, dragging the Rattata into the safety of the bush before anything else could happen. It gnashed it's teeth and glared over at Kiki, as if blaming her for this happenstance. The Rattata were beginning to take this personally.
Kiki stomped the competition, and gained +1 level and +1 Happiness! (Now +4)
Kiki is trying to learn Scary Face.

As another Rattata emerged in order to take revenge for it's fallen comrade, the uncertain Kiki eventually stomped a hoof forward, nostrils blowing hot air as she snorted at the sight of this other rodent. Perhaps if she was able to merely scare it off, then another battle wouldn't have to happen. But as if that was going to work. Sharp teeth glimmering in the sunlight, the purple rodent didn't look like the type to flee in terror and instead, tried to act intimidating on it's own. The Bouffalant did back up some but that was only to create some more space for her to build a bit of extra momentum as she charged. "Rattata are really small and fast, Kiki. You best be careful!" Whispering to her Pokemon whilst resting a hand on her back, the Bouffalant twitched her tail in agreement. Waiting for Catherine to release her hand as a signal for her to begin, the young girl gave her Pokemon one final pat before pulling back. "You're up again, Kiki!"
Head lowered, the Bouffalant charged across the grassy terrain with thundering hooves. The Rattata was indeed fast, so much so that it was able to land a hit, another painful looking bite. But every time she was put up against an opponent, Kiki could feel herself being stronger. Her body was growing used to attacks and she, herself, was finding it easier to attack straight back. With a buck of her head, the bull managed to up heave the rodent, sending it soaring up into the air with the one strike. Expecting to do a bit of a juggling act, Kiki trotted forward as if preparing to strike again but as the Rattata fell in a rather limp manner, it swiftly became clear that one hit was enough. Landing to the ground with a soft thump, Kiki reared backward and reversed to where Catherine stood, the trio looking on as the Raticate reemerged to drag off it's second, fallen brethren. Gulping at it's gnashing fangs, Catherine sighed.
"If we keep on facing Rattata, then I get the feeling they are going to hate us!!" A hint of worried strewn into her tone, Catherine slumped downward before turning to head down another path. "I bet more Rattata will come if we stand around. Maybe even that Raticate!" Shuddering, she pointed her arm forward and took the lead. "Brr! C'mon, let's go this way instead." Their training session was far from over but she did hope to find a different type of opponent. As long as it wasn't another Serviper. Stepping through the grass, this time it was Catherine who managed to spot something from the corner of her eye first, "Hmm?" Bright pink in colour, the creature couldn't be described as anything other than a blob. "Is that... A Ditto? What is it doing?" Unable to see what it was doing, if anything at all, Catherine ultimately shrugged her shoulders before turning to Kiki. "Okay, you know what to do. Horn Attack the Ditto, yeah? But be careful! They can transform and stuff!" Issuing her warning, she ended on a positive note with a clap of her hands, "Maybe we can even capture this one!"

Encounter
 An erratic Ditto (Level 14) appears! Please select a Pokemon for battle.Having stumbled upon a rather erratic pink blob that was minding its own business, it seemed as if Catherine had unwittingly met a rather peculiar foe. It seemed ignorant to her presence at first as it sat there, seemingly contending with something, deep in thought. Deciding the Pokemon would be a good bit of training fodder for Kiki, especially considering it had the ability to transform into a copy of the Pokemon it was facing, it appeared the sparring session would be over and done with rather quickly. Or not. Encounter
 A blazing Ponyta (Level 14) appears! Please select a Pokemon for battle...Huh? That was weird. In a mere blink a Ponyta appeared out of nowhere. Letting out a loud neigh, it's fires blazed to the point of blinding. As they died down, so too did its presence. The supposed Ponyta disappeared into nothing leaving no trace of it or a Ditto behind which they had planned on attacking. It made sense as well to a degree for there not to be a Ponyta about. The Great Ponyta Massacare of '15 was very much still fresh in the minds of the residents in the vicinity. Perhaps Catherine was imagining things. With there definitely being no Pokemon in sight, it meant Catherine and co were left alone to themselves. Perhaps an opportunity to press on and see what else there was. The moment they did, a sudden intrusion by yet another Pokemon appeared. Encounter
 A teleporting Abra (Level 14) appears! Please select a Pokemon for battle... Oh not again!Having teleported out of thin air to in front of Catherine, the supposed Abra began to'ing and fro'ing as it covered a great deal of the immediate area with its teleporting skills. Its speed increasing with every successful display of its power, it wasn't long before the Pokemon appeared with a final jolt to stop before crashing down into a patch of tall grass, disappearing from view. Once more leaving Catherine with no active Pokemon in the area. It becoming apparent the bizarre Abra wasn't coming back, a sudden hiss and parting of the tall grass revealed... Encounter
 A dazed, slithering Seviper (Level 14) appears! Please select... Oh for the love of...Clearly lost and dazed with its beady eyes spinning in all manner of directions, the Pokemon zig zagged across before absent mindedly bumping into none other than Kiki. The moment it did, the fearsome snake coiled backwards and as it did, the lengthy dark serpent reverted into a harmless pink blob. Had it really been the Ditto all this time?! Encounter
An erratic Ditto (Level 14) reappears! FINISH THE FIGHT!Snorting her nostrils, it seemed Kiki was a little tired with all the antics. As patient and nurturing as she was, it seemed like this Ditto didn';t know if it was coming or going. Making good of Catherine's order, the mighty buffalo lowered her head before ramming at the Ditto with its sizeable horns. Landing a direct hit, the Ditto let out a high pitched squeal as it went hurtling up into the air. Getting further and further away, it's outline became smaller and smaller to the point it was a dot. About to fade out of view, the body suddenly altered! Wild Battle

Coming closer and closer in a downward dive, the Pidgeotto-Ditto pulled up at the last moment, skimming over Catherine's head as it flew overheard and disappeared off into a forest of trees adjacent to them. That was certainly a weird encounter.

Upon spotting a Ditto lurking in the distance, Catherine stopped right in her tracks, believing that it would be a good opponent for training against. Ditto were known to transform into their opponents and other Pokemon and objects in general, mimicking their very moves and actions with a mere blink of an eye. They were formidable foes but this one was on the more frantic side. Pulling in Kiki to one side and muttering her thoughts out loud, it seemed that this idea of capturing the wild Ditto simply wasn't meant to be. As soon as the Bouffalant was about to emerge and attack, the sight of a flaming mane caught her attention. Now, a Ponyta stood there, prideful neigh and all. "Huh? But wasn't that...?" Not even able to question it for too long, the Ponyta then shifted into the shape of an Abra, which swiftly teleported away. Gasping once again, Catherine slumped forward in disbelief of her bad luck. "Phooie! I guess it saw us. Maybe we'll bump into it again, some time."
Disappointed that her encounter had fled before the battle had even begun, Catherine slumped her shoulders and was ready to move on, when all of a sudden, the grass before them shuddered. Her hair standing on end at the sound of a hiss, followed by the head of another Seviper, Kiki stood her ground as the Pokemon came into contact with her body but not everything was as it seemed. "O-Oh no! It's another Seviper!" Expecting to battle another angry serpent, this one wobbled backward, slowly changing into the shape of the same Ditto from earlier. Eyes widening in surprise, Catherine clapped her hands together. "It... It's a Ditto!!" The pink blob was certainly cute and it had a variety of uses and from it's appearance alone, Catherine was certain that it would be very nice to cuddle. "Okay Kiki, it is your time to shine now!" Though the creature didn't need telling twice. With a shake of her head, the large bull like Pokemon charged in with her powerful horns, managing to knock the poor Ditto out in a single strike.
Turning into a Pidgeotto and flying over her head, Catherine watched with a shred of sadness as the Ditto escaped her grasp. "A-AH! G-Goodbye then!" Reaching out momentarily, she pulled her arm back to her side and sighed, "Ooh well... We might meet another one at some point. YEP!" Remaining positive, the group moved on together, until they found themselves leaving the grass and standing before the end of the sea once again. Holding a hand to her hip, Catherine smiled as the ocean breeze drifted past. "Here again.. How about another bit of fishing, Atlas?" Becoming a bit more excited, the grass monkey welcomed the idea of a break. Setting up her old rod with the help of her Pokemon, Catherine sat beneath the shade of a tall tree, allowing Atlas to perch himself closer to the water's edge. Flicking in the line, Catherine turned to Kiki, who remained standing and alert. "If Atlas brings up a Pokemon, attack it with a Horn Attack. Two, to be safe! You never know what'll come outta the sea!"

Sometime passing, it seemed as if nothing was going to bite at first but all of a sudden, there were some incredibly subtle reverberations making their way from the line, to the rod into Atlas' hands. Seems like something had decided to nibble away gently. Waiting for the right moment... Encounter
 A poor, unsuspecting Magikarp (Level 14) appears! Your Fishing Rod skill increased by 0.5!Landing the Magikarp from right out of the water, it was testament to the simian's dexterity that the Magikarp was able to pulled out the water in such a swift flowing movement. With part one of Catherine's plan taken care of, it all now rested on Kiki's contribution. As Catherine lazed under the gentle shade of the tree, Kiki wasted no time in moving from her standing position. Lowering her head and galloping forwards with a mighty charge, there was no doubt how this was going to end. Even the Magikarp itself failed to do itself any favours. As it flopped up and down pitifully, it bounced back up at the exact moment Kiki connected her horns with the fish's body. Jabbing her head upwards, the Magikarp met a similar fate to what happened to the Ditto prior. Launching upwards with a mighty propulsion, it continued to ascend before turning into a tiny dark dot in the air. Unlike the Ditto, being unable to transform and ultimately save itself from a perilous fall, the Magikarp's dot began to fall back down and grow bigger and bigger. Thankfully due to Kiki's foresight, she had angled her attack in such a way that the Pokemon landed right back in the water with a mighty splash. It'd at least live to see another day. Wild Battle

Sitting herself under the shade of a tree, Catherine looked out to the ever expanding ocean, allowing her team a break or atleast giving Atlas the chance to do a bit more fishing. The grass monkey had grown tired of walking around so as he prepared the Old Rod, he hoped that this meant they would be here for a little while. Things then fell quiet, as Catherine lent her head back against the tree trunk, feeling the gentle breeze brush past her cheeks. It was hard work exploring around and partaking in battles so if she felt tired, there was no doubt that her Pokemon did too. Tilting her head, she glanced over to Kiki, who was well and truly focused on what Atlas was doing. Eyes wide, the bull was preparing herself to attack whatever was landed in the quickest, most painless way possible. Dragging her hoof against the dirt, Catherine puffed out her cheeks and giggled slightly. "You really are eager, eh, Kiki?" The Bouffalant jumping ever so slightly as the sound of Catherine's energetic voice pierced the silence, the girl lent forward and hugged her folded legs with her arms.
"I wonder if we are almost ready for this Whitney girl? Ooh! But before then! I kinda want to look around Goldenrod City some more. There is so much stuff that I bet we are missing out on!" Grinning to herself, despite being tired, she was still excited to get stuck right in. Smirking to himself, Atlas subtly shook his head, all before feeling something tug on the end of his line. Eyes erupting as if on fire, the Simisage slammed his foot down and with all his strength, pulled the catch out of the water, threw it over his head and right onto dry land for Kiki to attack. "Ah! It's another Magikarp!" Catherine noted happily, signalling the Bouffalant with a lone nod. Charging forward, the Pokemon didn't hold back as she used her horns to send the splashing fish right back into the water where it came from. With a huge splash, the battle was over before it had eve begun. Sitting himself back down, Atlas prepared the rod for a second round whilst Catherine rubbed the Bouffalant's head affectionately. "Good job, Kiki! You sure showed that Magikarp a thing or two!" Grinning widely, she turned to look over at Atlas.
"But I wonder if he can bring up something other than a Magikarp this time?" Playfully teasing her fishing Simisage, Atlas flicked his hand in the air before sitting himself back down. Throwing in the line, it would only be a matter of time before he brought up something else. "Same again, Kiki! Use Horn Attack on whatever it pulled out of that water! If it is strong, be sure to attack it twice!"

Resuming in his endeavours, Atlas cast the line out and began to wait to see what other aquatic life they could fish up. Sure they had just caught a Magikarp but there had to be all sorts of other water type Pokemon just dwelling beneath the watery surface. Just so long as they didn't fish up a Sharpedo or anything too aggressive they would be okay. Spacing out a little as time marched on, another nibble began to bite at the bait and it was enough to alert Atlas to yet another encounter. Waiting for it to snag, he used all his upper body strength to rip it out of the water, Encounter
Another poor Magikarp (Level 17) appears! Your Fishing Rod skill increased by 0.5!The Pokemon coming into view and appearing to be none other than a fidgety Magikarp that began to splash up and down as it was landed, it seemed as if Kiki would have to yet again charge into battle to see it off. At the very least, these fish served as good training fodder. So they weren't entirely useless. Making a return charge, Kiki lowered her head and positioned herself in place in order to ram her horns at the flailing fish. This time around the Magikarp behaved itself and didn't splash itself up in the air to where Kiki was aiming. Falling down at the last moment, Kiki slightly overstepped her mark but thankfully the buffalo was able to reign her neck around and with a flip upwards, delivered yet another devastating blow to the carp. Sending it flying up in the air, it turned into a tiny little speck before falling back down and landing with a massive crash into the water. Sending a number of droplets flying off in the vicinity, it was a bit too close to comfort and ended up soaking the nearby area. Wild Battle

With one Magikarp being sent soaring back into the water, Catherine had applauded her Pokemon with a number of claps before petting the afro bull on the nose, affectionately. "You really have become so strong, Kiki! The way we are going, no one is gonna want to mess with me or my team!" Sticking her thumb up and pulling a bit of a childish expression by sticking her tongue out, the two sat back as Atlas returned to fishing once again. Grumbling to himself over Catherine's words from earlier, he too wanted to land a whopper and not just some puny little Magikarp again. When in the water, it seemed as though they were entirely different creatures as some were able to put up one heck of a fight. But once brought on land, all they seemed to do was splash around! Shrugging to himself, the Simisage enjoyed the peace as Catherine and Kiki sat some distance away, the two whispering to once another so not to disturb him. "I am... Getting a little bored here." The girl soon admitted, "I hope we can move elsewhere soon but... Just watching Atlas being happy, makes me happy too!"
Watching the Simisage in deep concentration mode, all of a sudden, the tip of his rod twitched yet again. With a mighty pull, he was eager to see his next catch, only to deflate upon seeing the golden scaled fish yet again. Stomping a foot against the grass irritably, the grass monkey shuffled to one side to sort out the rod yet again as Kiki took care of the flailing fish. Charging head first into battle and once again scoring a deadly blow with her giant horns, it seemed that Magikarp were no match for the Bouffalant at all, she didn't even need to attack twice anymore! Standing up to her feet happily, Catherine brushed down her dress before skipping toward the Bouffalant. "'Atta girl! You sure know how to use those horns now!" Grinning widely with rosy cheeks, she could feel a Gym challenge draw ever closer. "Just a little bit more and we'll be ready!" About to repeat the same tactic again, Catherine couldn't held but notice that someone was approaching them or atleast, walking toward her general direction.
Clad in a green uniform, the young girl seemed to have Pokeballs with her and if she didn't intend to talk to Catherine, Catherine certainly wanted to now talk to her. "Hello! Hello there!" The aspiring nurse called out, waving her arm to try and grab the Picnickers attention. Maybe she would want to battle?!
