With great ease and next to no resistance, Joey gained another Pokemon in the form of a Luxio, when the Safari Ball tinged in success. This most recent trip to the Safari Zone was currently proving to be quite fruitful but as he aimed his thanks up to Lady Luck, some would wonder... Would this luck of his last forever? Or was it a mere distraction for the amount of bad luck that was about to come. Regardless, for now, all he could do was cross his fingers and hope that the deity above would continue to shine upon him and his mischievous antics. Having collected the ball and dusted it down, Joey continued his excursion through the baking hot sands of the desert. He might've captured these Pokemon thus far but it would mean nothing if he were to collapse from exhaustion in the middle of the glittering sands with no one to help him.
Every now and again, the booted biker would kick at the sand beneath his feet. But perhaps this next encounter would open his eyes to the life that lived out of view. As his foot came into contact with the sand another time, it also came into contact with something else. Getting caught between the pincers of this Pokemon, it was unexpectedly pulled up from beneath the glittering sands and was lightly tossed forward. Landing in front of Joey somewhat dazed, was a Pokemon known as Skorupi. It's tail immediately lashing out in anger of being disturbed, it seemed that Joey had literally unearthed a Pokemon.

Feeling something off about his footing as he made another step, Joey responded decisively as he booted his foot upwards with more force than usual. Sure enough, he was treading on more than the sand beneath his feet. Watching as the sand settled and the being which had been hidden amongst the dunes went flying through the air, he was unable to fully make heads or tails of what it was due to the sun obscuring its visual. Waiting for it to land, he sported his usual daredevil grin. Mere seconds later the Pokemon came into view and it was one he had only heard tales of. " A Skorupi, eh? I had best be more careful, stompin' out and about here in the desert. That could've been a lot worse than it was." Having been told of would be attackers hiding under the ground and attacking their prey as they walked by, he had avoided being poisoned with deadly toxins. Observing it sting forward with its tail in a threatening manner, Joey merely brushed it off with a cocky smirk. " Now, now, there's no need for that. Although, I could sure do with a Poison type like in the gang. Alright, here goes!" Priming the safari ball, he tossed it forward in the hopes of a capture. He had lucked out on the previous encounters, he had no reason to believe this would be any different. Thankfully he could also out manoeuvre the tiny scorpion on the off chance it wanted to thrust its poison barb at him. - Joey tosses a Safari Ball -

Narrowly missing his boot being pierced with the stinger of Skorupi and poison circulating around his body, Joey was being rather lackadaisical about this meeting. Often attracted to sneaky, poison type Pokemon, the Skorupi species would've certainly suited him but that was only if the Pokemon itself felt the biker to be worthy. Already it had been rather forcefully booted out of the sand, which had angered the little scorpion like creature. Having tried to scare the human away with a few test jolts of it's stinger, for some reason, this one wasn't running off in fear. Instead, he had this horrible smirk plastered across his face, a cocky one at that. Joey was experiencing a rather lucky streak at the moment but would it continue into this encounter?
Overly cautious, the Skorupi was able to flee at any given time. It was able to dwell underneath the sands and since the area had endless amounts, all it had to do was burrow downward to escape harm. Nattering it's front fangs, the Skorupi was soon met with a Safari Ball but it wasn't enough to keep it contained for long. As it was drawn inside, the ball only shook once before bursting open again, revealing the same creature. Glaring up at Joey, the Skorupi became more on edge and looked ready to attack the human himself if he dared to throw another ball.

His steadfast grin faltered somewhat. It was understandable at this point that he had started to become cocky in how skilled he was in capturing things. Or perhaps more accurately, how lucky he was in some of the recent captures. But all winning streaks were never meant to last forever. Breaking his lucky run, Joey's eyes carefully assessed the capture device and led to his momentary setback. Making a loud tut, he brushed it off and shrugged coolly to himself. " Tch, can't win 'em all. Doesn't mean I can't keep tryin'." Looking over to the Skorupi, he couldn't help but laugh at the Pokemon's behaviour becoming riled up even further. " Oh man, I know that look. That's a look of a Pokemon ready to strike out if I dare throw another Pokeball. Suppose it's a good thing for me i'm not so easily goaded." Having primed the ball in the lead up to the end of his sentence, he quickly lashed his arm forward and threw out the ball towards the Pokemon. " I like that fire you got burnin' there. You sure you don't wanna partner up with me? We could go far." As cocky and arrogant as he was coming off to the Pokemon initially, there was no doubting the sincerity in his words there. Whether it would sway the Pokemon was anyone's guess. - Joey throws another Safari Ball -

Skorupi had dared the human to throw another ball just so it would have no excuse not to stab Joey with it's venomous stinger. The bug did not think the human would dare to be brave enough to try to throw another ball at it thinking it's display of will would be enough to get him to give up however the scorpion could have never foreseen Joey's determination to capture it and that might just come back to haunt the bug. Listening as the human spoke it had no intentions to join him on a quest however as Joey threw the safari ball it knew round two was underway. Skorupi tried to jump out of the way of the ball but Joey had tossed it so well that the bug had no choice but to accept that it would at least need to break out of a ball again as it could not dodge it. As the Bug slammed into the sides of the ball it began to shake. The first shake went just like the last round however the ball did not burst open nor did it after the second shake and the bug grew worried. After a third shake the bug tried everything it could to burst out but the safari ball just would not give in this time as it clicked shut. Skorupi had been captured against it's will. With no telling what the human may do to it now that it was owned by the human it's fate was in it's master's hands now. The bug felt in it's gut that it should have run when it had the chance but it was too late to change things now. Skorupi has been captured! Please complete the following code:

Narrowly dodging a strike from the Skorupi as the Safari Ball connected with the Pokemon just in time, Joey let out a relieved sigh. " Come to think of it, Skorupi can use their poisonous barbs to shoot out acid. Pretty precise shots of acid too, nothing globby." Checking over himself just to be sure none of the corrosive fluid had made its way off to him, he appeared to be fine. " Well, no flesh peeling off or anything. Looks like I avoided callin' in the safari wardens for some A&E." Finishing his sentence, his eyes were drawn back to the rocking capture device. At this point, it was clear the Pokemon wasn't going to come along quietly and if it had burst out once before there was no doubt it would do its best to break free again. Thankfully, on the third and final shake of the sphere, it let out a resounding chime which was enough for Joey to know it had been captured. " Haha sweet, looks like another new addition to the gang. At this rate I could go stormin' Team Rocket's HQ with this army." Tutting to himself, he kicked a bit of sand as he moved on over to collect the newly acquired creature. " That is, if I knew where it was. I got some hunches but that's all they are." Shaking his head, he pocketed away the Skorupi into his jacket and decided on a name to himself mentally. Given it kept attacking from afar and its sniper like qualities, a name like Dragunov only seemed fitting. About to press on, he looked over in the distance and was certain it was a new zone to explore. Lifting a hand over his eyes, he squinted to try and focus. " If i'm not mistaken that looks like a load of trees... Some kinda forest? Only one way to find out." Trudging over, it took a fairly long while but the biker made it. Wiping sweat from his brow and pulling out his tshirt at the collar to try and ventilate some air, he was pleased to get into a location with some coolness to the air. Moving further and further in, Joey let out a laugh. " This is insane. A savannah to a desert isn't too far a stretch but considering I was wadin' through sand a few moments ago and now i'm surrounded by a sea of trees, it's crazy." Moving by a number of impressive trees to his side, he kept his eyes affixed to the canopy of this impressive vegetation. " It's like bein' in Ilex all over again." Laughing to himself, Joey uttered his next words with what seemed almost like a hint of trepidation. " Let's hope it's not as easy to get lost." - Joey advances to the Forest - OOC: Oh yeah, another one in the bag. Boxing Dragunov and proceeding to Forest. The jarring realization as Joey trudged through sand to immediately find himself in a forest was one the Pokemon tended to suffer from as well. Some of the more forest oriented Pokemon might've wandered around their peaceful forest, only to find themselves facing a hot desert. They tended to stay away from that particular outskirt, leaving the more hardy Pokemon like the normal types to wander here instead. Travelling further into the forest would be useful, but dangerous with the massive size of the forest. Thankfully the Zone had frequent fly-overs to make sure that no one got lost in the vast zones while they played their Safari. The desert runoff slowly disappeared as Joey progressed, giving way to greener, juicier plants on the forest floor. Some of these plants harbored giant fruits and delicious berries, so Joey probably picked a great spot to wander. Pokemon could be heard shuffling, but with the approach of Joey, quite a few Vigoroth and Lickitung fled into the undergrowth and trees, leaving a lone Bidoof to continue eating it's meal. It's tail shook with glee as it took another bite of the berry. When it's head rose to look at it's friends, it was only met with confusion. The forest grew quiet, and Bidoof turned around in a comically slow fashion, eyes meeting Joey's. It froze still, mouth still open with a few berries half chewed. You startled a Bidoof! His ears picking up on the sound of nearby rustles, Joey apprehensively shifted his eyes from side to side as he moved as lightly as possible. " Seems like the Pokemon here are a bit more obvious in their presence." He mumbled to himself, somewhat pleased that he wouldn't be stepping on Pokemon burrowed amongst the ground. Last thing he wanted was making another false step and getting the fallout from it. Nevertheless, as he continued to move, it seemed the movements being made dispersed away from him, leaving him with the ambient noise of the forest itself. " Guess they're wary. Who can blame 'em. This is a safari but for all intents it's virtually a like for like with the wilderness. Hell, I wonder how many people even make it out here. Crossing a savannah and desert an' all." About to continue his passage, he paused as he was overtaken by some surprise. He had thought he had been aware of all the Pokemon in the vicinity but as he moved his eyes away from where he had been looking, he encountered a Bidoof which had been rather greedily stuffing its face away with berries. Staring deep into the Pokemon's dumb founded stare and mouth ajar filled with half consumed berries, Joey couldn't help but laugh. He knew Bidoof were generally something of a joke with most trainers but there was charm in their simplistic ways. " Hahaha, you enjoyin' some chow, eh? Don't worry buddy. You enjoy 'em. Don't stop on my account." Giving the Pokemon a little nod with his cheeky grin, Joey decided to leave the Pokemon in peace. He was here on a catching safari but that didn't mean he was out to disturb every Pokemon going. Distancing himself from the Bidoof, he went to see what other Pokemon inhabited the verdant forest. - Joey leaves the Bidoof be -

Although Bidoof was a rather common sight in the forest area it was also not a very popular Pokemon to capture for that very reason. Just as he walked away from the buck toothed Pokemon another was lying in wait watching the human with the greatest curiosity. The Pokemon in question was not only very fast but it also had razor like arms that could slice a tree in half with almost no effort. As the Pokemon in the Safari Zone were protected from battles however use an appendage made a wonderful defense against the Safari Balls used by the trainers here and combined with it's physical strength the Pokemon in question was a very special encounter. The Pokemon in question was none other than a Scyther and it was very interested in what Joey was doing near it's home. The bug jumped out of one of the tall trees in the forest and landed in front of him with a huge grin on it's face as if it were daring the human to try anything suspicious. Not many humans would stand so close to a Pokemon that could cut them in two in the blink of an eye unless they lacked any regard for their own safety but Scyther did have some respect for the human for not running off like some many others had at the mere sight of it's impressive arms. That did not mean that it was going to just let him capture it either as Scyther were a bug known for their fighting abilities. If Joey planned on capturing this bug it would take more than just bravery as it waited for the human to make a move of any kind. It wanted to slice his Safari Balls in half to test it's aim and power against the human however it was up to Joey if he wanted to give the bug a chance to test itself or not. You startled a Scyther! Taking a mere few steps away from the carefree Bidoof, Joey made an abrupt stop as he picked up on the sudden movement of a nearby Pokemon. Given how lightning fast the motion was, he knew this was going to be something unusual. Remaining perfectly still, he managed to focus in on the Pokemon as it laid off dashing to and fro. Now standing bravely in front of him, having descended from the trees in front of him, Joey's eyes winced as he realised what he was up against. So far, he had come across all sorts of Pokemon in the safari. A lot of them, docile. Some a little brusque in their encounters with him but this was the first time he was in such a precarious situation. Having reigned in a Scyther off his own, he was all too aware of what their scythe like appendages could do. The Scyther he had allied with, an elderly veteran by the name of Batsuro, had chosen a peaceful life and meant Joey was nowhere near any sort of danger when he had dealt with him. This one on the other hand was a young one. It's demeanour and presence were all too evident of of it being brash. One false step and Joey may be dealing with the problem of stitching himself back in two. " Woah, easy there. This yer stompin' grounds?" Remaining in his position, Joey was cautious but that didn't mean he was going to ditch his own devil may care way of handling things. If he backed off now, it would only show weakness. He'd deal with this the usual way. " Don't mind me. Just a soul driftin' around." Watching as the Scyther stared at him intently, he could tell the Pokemon was assessing him and his every move. One thing he picked up on was how the mantis kept looking to the safari balls he had on hand. " Huh? You know about these?" Realising it wasn't too far a stretch the Pokemon had encountered other trainers and also broken free of their attempts at capture, he decided now was the time to make up his decision on whether he would try to claim the Pokemon for his own. He wasn't sure if Batsuro would take to an upstart Scyther about but having two of them would make for some serious advantage over on any Rocket grunts he came across. " Y'know, it's not the safari balls you should be worried about." Joey commented in a rather cavalier manner. Keeping his stance relaxed, he left his sentence open as if baiting the Scyther into thinking about what else there was to worry about. Hoping to have lured the Pokemon into distraction, Joey betrayed his laid 3back stance as he leapt backwards, his hand scuffing at ground as he picked up a rock. " It's this!" As he landed in a kneeling position, he lobbed the rock forward. It was a feint but hopefully it would give him the upper hand in acquiring this Pokemon. - Joey tosses a rock -

As both Joey and the wild Scyther faced one another in a stand offish manner, their eye contact never seemed to sway, much to the amusement of the mantis. Having owned one of the species himself, Joey knew first hand how Scyther could be, but his own was very different in comparison to this arrogant youngster. Though maybe it would remind him of Joey, himself. A sure, cocky smirk under the snout of the Scyther, the large bug was in no means intimidated by the sight of a human like most Pokemon would be in the Safari Zone but rather welcomed such a challenge. After all, the blonde biker hadn't turned and ran away terrified with his tail between his legs but instead, he continued to stand his ground. Blades shining from the rays of the sun looming down through the gaps within the trees, there was no doubt from the arrogant facial expression of the Scyther, that it was going to be the one having all the fun.
Ready to enjoy the image of disappointment on the human's face as it burst free from the Safari Ball, the Scyther waited for the actions that most visiting human's would make when faced with a rare Pokemon... However, it wasn't a ball what came at the Scyther's way. Instead, the bug was caught off guard by the swift motions of Joey, who had lunged forward and with a swipe of his arm, lifted a small rock and lobbed it toward the Scyther. Considering how close they already were along with the quick thinking of Joey, the wild Pokemon had little time to react, mainly surprised that the human did something other than throw a ball. Feeling the rock land square in it's face, the Scyther recoiled it's head backwards, a red scuff mark now apparent on the centre of it's face. Eyes now leering viciously, it cried out and took a threatening swing at Joey with it's bladed arms.

A cocksure grin on his face, Joey opened his mouth to talk but was interrupted mid sentence. " Hah hah! How'd you like t-Blimey!" Rolling backwards with a the Scyther's blades missing by mere inches, Joey steadied himself having taken his evasive manoeuvre and looked up to reassess the situation. " Guessin' that was somethin' of a surprise, eh? Well, don't worry. I don't plan on playin' dirty like that now. If anything, maybe it might make you a little more appreciative of what's to come next." Observing the mark left on the Pokemon's being, Joey was proud to see he had a steady enough aim to actually land on a blow on such a fearsome monster. There was a highly probable chance the Pokemon would've reacted and cleaved the rock in two meaning he would have wasted a turn. Reaching into his pocket and taking out a tiny camouflaged ball, his thumb pressed down on the centre of the equipment, enlarging it in size, priming it ready for capture. " HEY! Think fast!" His arm reaching forward as if to signal he was reaching for another rock to throw, he used the opportunity to use his free arm to lob the safari ball he had primed forwards, attempting a capture. Having caught his own Scyther, Batsuro, in the bug catching contest, the grizzly veteran did not go down without a fight. Preparing himself from the worst, Joey watched as the next few moments unfolded. - Joey throws a Safari Ball -

Swiftly dodging the Scyther's feint slash, the mantis like Pokemon grunted to itself before jumping back a pace. Eyeing Joey cautiously, he had certainly been a unique human, there weren't many that would take the risk that he had done. Almost respecting the male for his brave actions, it still didn't mean that he was forgiven. After all, the Pokemon had just received a rock to the face and that was enough to make anyone angry. Eyeing Joey cautiously, the Scyther wasn't quite sure with what the male was thinking or what he had planned next. Thinking it would be the case of another rock, the Scyther braced itself but this time, Joey went for his pockets. Pulling out a lone Safari Ball, the male enlarged it by pressing the button in the centre, priming it to be thrown for capture.
But this time, the Scyther itself was ready. Having expected something of some sort to be thrown regardless, the bug raised it's scythe like arms and with incredible speed, sliced the Safari Ball clean in two! Though the Pokemon did have a strained look on it's face, suggesting that the speed of the ball caught the Pokemon off guard. Blinking wearily, it appeared that one of it's arms had become strained from the sudden, swift motion. Would it be able to cut the next Safari Ball in two? Only time would tell.

His eyes blinking in disbelief, it was wholly apparent Joey had underestimated this Scyther in particular. Which said something in itself, he had been cautious so far and never before had he seen a Pokemon retaliate against the a capture device like that before. He had at least hoped for it to encapsulate him and struggle some before breaking out. Let alone it failing to capture point blank. " Heh, damn. I guess this proves you've been hunted quite a bit if you can slice 'n dice the Pokeball like that." Talking away as he hoped to buy himself some time, Joey went over the different scenarios in his head for the best outcome. There was no doubt a rock would capture the vicious praying mantis off guard again. Simply because the Pokemon seemed so infuriated with a capture device being thrown at it. The only problem this posed was the fact it would no doubt incite the Pokemon to flee. It'd have taken some hits and it was highly probably it would retreat to lick its wounds. Bait wasn't going to work. Not at this point. This left the only other choice of throwing another safari ball. It meant he'd have another shot at capture, no matter how slim. Only problem was the Pokemon would likely try and disable the device. A wry smirk spreading over Joey's face as he stared at the Scyther, he decided on his choice. " Just how many can you destroy before you give up? I got a loooootta surplus 'ere." Having primed the ball, he tossed it forward and hoped for this time a chance at it going inside the ball. - Joey throws a Safari Ball -

Slicing the previous Safari clean into two parts, the Scyther stayed in positions, eyes locked onto Joe, pondering on what the human would do next. Would he run away now that he had seen how set it was against being captured? That would make him like all other humans that had crossed it's path. It would lure them in with it's rare appearance, intimidate them and force them to flee in terror. Joey had been bold enough to throw a rock which had smacked it right on the head but the Scyther wouldn't chase after him if he did decide to run. Only, it became very apparent that Joey was just as stubborn. In his mind, he figured that unless he kept throwing balls, the Scyther would flee. But this time around, atleast, it was going to continue standing it's ground.
Issuing the Scyther with a bit of a challenge, the cheeky male had primed another Safari Ball in his finger tips and with it, the Scyther reacted. Bracing itself for another chance at slicing the ball in two, the mantis raised a claw to slash down but... It's arm didn't seem to follow. Hurriedly looking up, the Scyther realised that it's claw had become stuck in some vines and all of a sudden, a bright red flash surrounded it's vision. Being drawn inside of the Safari Ball, it fell to the ground and shook one or twice before dramatically bursting open. Fuming, a very angry Scyther reemerged, it's once green face beginning to turn red.
