Cheers within the crown told of a great event that was well on its way. The MC of the contest stood forward to make her announcement, "Now making her pokemon contest debut, it’s Rosalie from Sunny shore city." A girl of ten stood forward to take the stage. Her baby blue dress gentle blew in the wind. Taking a deep sigh, she removes the hair from her face while holding tightly to a poke ball. Opening her eyes slowly she called outwards to the crowd, "Piplup, its show time!" and she tossed the ball. The crowd was showered in sparkles as the penguin pokemon happily appeared from its poke ball and swiftly landed to its feet. Rose leaned forward into the stage, "Alright piplup bubble beam!" she commanded the pokemon. Piplup leapt into the air just as swiftly and began to spin into the air as a jet of bubble flew from its beak. Bubbles collided with the already existing sparkles and popped, causing a true magnificent display in the sky. The crowd went absolutely nuts as Rose and piplup waved to the on looking crowd. The contest MC stepped over to speak, but when she opened her mouth a loud buzzer came out instead of words It was that dream again, The same one she had the night before she began her career. Why was she having this dream? Maybe it was telling her something. When rose finally came out o the dream, she awoke with a Green eevee evolution in her face. It was Jade, her leafeon. One her right was marowak, her first pokemon she's ever caught. It was sad that she had decided to leave them behind this time, but everyone needs a fresh start. The red head got ready and went downstairs. She ate her breakfast in silence before collecting her backpack and items. Saying her final farewells before getting on a boat to the Johto region. After a long trip through the waters, she had arrived. Soon after arriving she stopped by the pokemon lab with a postcard. She was due to pick up a new pokemon and restart her journey. When she arrived two other trainers were there, probably to pick their starters. The pokemon to choose from where the basic Bulbasaur, charmander and Squirtle. They laughed as they too their starters and left, leaving a lonely charmander alone. The young pokemon retreated into himself, damaged by what the other trainers said about him. Pathetic, Weak, not worth my time. This struck Rosalie's heart. She spoke to the professor and learned a shocking story, This wasn't the first time this had happened. Apparently this little charmander had been passed up many times. Without hesitation, she agreed to take on the young lizard pokemon. After leaving the lab, she continued through the town, taking in the sites. She paused for lunch and took out charmander's pokeball. The fire pokemon came out of his ball, but instantly cowered and prepare for the worse.

Shortly after Rosalie paused for lunch letting her Charmander out of it's Pokeball another round of hail began to fall. New Bark Town had been getting hammered by bad weather for some time now and today was yet another bad day to be outdoors. The bad weather was bad news for the trainers starting out on their journey as it made it harder to train their new Pokemon and it made it hard on the wild Pokemon on the route as they lacked the natural protection against the painful white pelts as they fell from the sky without prejudice or mercy. One of the many wild Pokemon who was living on the route had just been trying to get home when the hail caused it to take a detour and look for shelter. As the wild Pokemon inched it's way towards any kind of protection it could find it saw Rosalie in the distance. Being a slow and very small Pokemon she would not likely see it coming for some time which the bug type hoped would keep it safe until it could find a place to hide until it could decide whether or not to battle her. The wild Pokemon was a Wurmple and it was not in a very good mood being trapped in the terrible weather and still a good distance from home. It could not last much longer in this weather and as such it had no choice but to keep approaching Rosalie just hoping she would not have her Charmander tear it to shreds as soon as she saw it. The young bug type fired a string shot over the trainers shoulder to try and get her attention. It was in need of both rest and a warm place to stay and this trainer was it's best chance of getting both even if it had to earn it in a battle. Wurmple waited patiently for Rosalie to give it any sign that it's string shot had worked so it could start begging for help. A wild level 5 Wurmple is in need of rest and shelter and wants to earn it in a battle. Please select a Pokemon. Hail will be in effect for this battle. Ooc: 400 words added to your eggs word count.

Rosalie began to start to dig into her pack. Perhaps the small lizard pokemon would feel more comfortable around her after some lunch. She didn’t get the chance. It came out of no where, the hail. She had heard that new bark town was getting some bad weather, but she defidently did not expect this. Rosalie was disappointed. She wanted to teach charmander a new way to battle, a way to work on his strengths.
Rosalie had completely ignored the small worm pokemon. her first priority was to find shelter from the hail. At least until the hail stopped. She reached down to scoop up charmander and take him into her arms. Soon several long white sticky threads shot over her shoulder, taking her by surprise. She stood up quickly an turned to face what ever had attacked her.
“A wurmple?” She inquired. It’s small and puny, but it could be a good first match for Charmander.
She took out her pokedex and pointed it at the worm pokemon. Wurmple! The Worm Pokemon!Using the spikes on its rear end, Wurmple peels the bark off trees and feeds on the sap that oozes out. This Pokémon's feet are tipped with suction pads that allow it to cling to glass without slipping. She nodded, "okay now you," The dex the spat out charmander's information. Charmander! The lizard Pokemon! The flame that burns at the tip of its tail is an indication of its emotions. The flame wavers when Charmander is enjoying itself. If the Pokémon becomes enraged, the flame burns fiercely. Charmanders moved include Scratch and Growl. It wasn't much to work with, but that's the challenges of being a trainer.
She pocketed the pokedex and turned to the wurple, "You want a battle don't you?" She didn't wait for an answer. She turned to her new pokemon partner, "Please charmander, I need your help. Will you please battle Wurmple for me?" She stared into the Lizard's eyes
"Char?" He said hesitantly. Why should I? She'll see that i'm pathetic too. She'll take me back.
Rosalie put the pokemon on the ground, "trust me you'll be fine. I'll show you a way to battle even when you limited to only a few moves. Please wold you use Scratch for me?"
After a moment charmander nodded. He still wasn't too sure about it, but he decided to have a go at it. So he charged at the worm pokemon with her claws facing foreward.
Charmander hesitates but uses Scratch.

The poor Wurmple may have been willing to fight for help if it had to but facing a Charmander was not something it needed right now. Bulbasaur or Squirtle were one thing but Charmander were a very tough opponent to face and in this weather a Wurmple would have a very hard time trying to win. It was lucky that this Charmander did not know any fire type moves but even without a super effective move the salamander could outpace the worm and add to that Charmander's higher offensive abilities it caused the bug type to start praying for some help in this battle. Before any miracle could head it's way however Charmander made the first move. Extending his claws he scratched the bug across the face. The attack happened so fast that the bug did not have any time to try and look away or anything before it was hit. Wurmple had taken a good hit as well as red marks appeared across it's face where the fire types claws had scored a hit. Feeling down but not out Wurmple remembered an old trick it's species had learned to make up for their offensive capabilities. It fired a silk like thread towards CHarmanders legs and after a very brief period it was able to cover the fire types feet with the thread enough to slow him down a bit. Wurmple was not able to tell if the string shot would be enough but at least the salamander would not be quite as fast. Just as things started to look up however the hail showned neither Pokemon any mercy as it pelted both of them. The damage was not severe but for a bug type already at a disadvantage losing any additional health was not a good sign. The next round had to be better for Wurmple if it wanted to stand a chance. The Girl watched as the Fire pokemon struck the bug clear across the bugs face. Ouch that must’ve hurt dearly. Charmander was fast and Rosalie knew this could be used as a tool to boosted the pokemon’s confidence later on. For now they had a battle to deal with. While she was so lost in though, the bug countered Charmander’s speedy attack by spraying him with some kind of sticky string. This was not good as the effect slowed charmander down. Rosalie sighed. This was fine. They could deal with this, it was only a minor set back. It was after all a trainer’s job to adapt to each situation that would be thrown at her. This was only one she’d face. The Charmander shook off as much of the thread he could but was unable to get it all. He gave her a worrying look, but her smile gave him a sense of reassurance. He could do this, no he had to do this. He awaited her next command. The girl went into some though, but finally she looked to the little lizard pokemon. “Okay charmander again. Give it another good scratch,” She commanded. Charmander nodded and Charged towards the worm pokemon once again with his claws out forward. This time he seemed to be a bit slower; the threads had done their job in slowing down the Charmander Charmander used Scratch

Charmander batted the Wurmple back again with his outstretch paw and as the worm Pokemon collapsed into the mound of snow behind it, it managed to release another jet of silky threads! The fire Pokemon was wrapped up by the String Shot yet again, slowing down his movements even more. Wow Charmander is really trying to move even with the all the threads restricting his movements. Was he trying to overcome his insecurities? Perhaps, but that’s not the issue right now. The lizard pokemon racked the bug pokemon once again with his claws. The bug collided into the snow, but not before it let loose another set of strings. This was difficult and Rosalie wished Charmander had a fire move, but that would come later. Besides she was trying to show the little charmander that he didn’t need it to be strong. Rosalie winced as the hail pelted her skin. She wondered if the pokemon felt it more. She better end this battle soon. “Go in with scratch again,” She commanded. The Lizard immediately charged again with his claws out stretch. Charmander used Scratch

This hail was sure becoming a problem for Her and her pokemon Partner. It slowly sapping away the Charmander’s health. Fortunately the Worm pokemon was also feeling the effects from the blasted falling ice pebbles.
Rosalie knew the moment Charmander struggled against the Silk strings would make things even more difficult for the fire pokemon. What more they’re becoming thicker and thicker the longer this battle dragged onwards. The Threads allowed the Wurmple to strike first this time, had Charmander’s speed been hindered that much?
Rosalie Paused and assessed the situation. The bug pokemon must be pretty weak by now. She had an opportunity, an Opportunity to catch the bug pokemon. But would it worth it to catch the wurmple so early on in his journey? After all he could always find another wurmple later on. Was It wise to add a new member to her team soon, She barely met her Charmander as it is.
She juggled a pokeball in her hand, weighing the pros and cons of catch this pokemon. Ultimately she put the ball away. Maybe someday she’ll catch a wurmple or any other Worm like pokemon, But not today.
Her eyes went back to Charmander, he was showing great courage throughout this fight. Surely the worm lacked much strength left. Together they could end this, maybe not by the Fire lizard’s claws, but the hail would assist. Rosalie nodded, “We’re almost done.” She called, “Finish this with Scratch one last time.” She called, edging the fore pokemon on.

Rosalie watched as the Charmander struggled to move through the sticky string. This little lizard certainly had spunk and was trying to push past his insecurities. She was proud of him. He however still had a long way to go to repair whatever emotional wounds he had received before coming into her care. As the worm Pokémon fell, She approached the fore Pokémon. "Nice job," She praised him as she placed her hand on his head to give a scratch.
"Char!" The fire lizard recoiled, the gesture so unfamiliar to him. Wha... Wha.. What's she doing?
Rose immediately pulled her hand away. She knew this Charmander would shut down, but she didn't realize just how broken he would've been. She would have to work on his self confidence as he really needed it. She scooped him up into her arms and as expected he stiffened in her arms. "It's okay, you did good," She tried to console him. After about a minute she turned her attention to the worm Pokémon. What should she do with it? It was rather puny.
After a moment she decided to leave it wild. Carefully she shuffled the Charmander to her shoulder She pulled out a napkin and placed a few blocks of Pokémon food on it. "Thank you little on. We've both learned a little from this match," She whispered to the fainted Pokémon. After one last glance to the bug Pokémon, She turned and continued down the road. This was a good start to her journey and it was just beginning.

The gesture of kindness toward their defeated foe seemed to even soothe the weather pelting the route. Hardened pellets of icy rain softened into thinner flakes. Each particle gently floated from the sky. Not too many at first. The cold flecks a calm break from the storm that preceded, and just as quietly as they came they would meld into the white scenery. At least Rosalie had the warmth of her charmander's tail fire crackling behind her. Other creatures on the route weren't quite so privileged. Sitting hunched under the mottled cover of needled branches was a sharp eyed bird feeling quite bothered. It was on the lookout. Its nest just a bit higher unfortunately sitting in a slightly more exposed array of twigs that on closer observation would seem to have had something fall through them. The brown feathered pokemon glared over the winter wonderland and shuddered just about the time it took notice of the trainer strutting down the road nearby. Immediately it felt a rush tickle its bones, its already pitted feathers becoming even more ruffled. Its head tilted and it listened for a second before it did another lightning twitch to tilt to the other side. Hearing no other disturbances the bird growled in a low tone then jumped into the air to land at a closer tree along the trainer's path. It perched itself somewhat high and cawed, wings fanning slightly as it took an offensive posture. It cawed again, and again, then hopped down to a lower branch and make another screech down at Rosalie. An agitated Spearow (Lv 6) is cawing at Rosalie Shiny? Ky2_w1DT1-42258 words added to egg 1-42
