Aphrodite inhaled a deep breath as she exited the Pokemon Center and took in the scent of the sweet flowers surrounding the city. Today was the day that the young beauty trainer would take on her first gym challenge. She had recently managed to defeat the wise monks living inside of the Sprout Tower, and she had become even more confident in her team. Aphrodite and her team had been working extremely hard on perfecting their moves and bonds over the past few weeks. It was now time for them to put all of their training to a test. She glanced down at the two Poke Ball resting against her curvaceous hips. She had already chosen the two Pokemon that she wanted to use in her first gym battle. She felt a little nervous at first, but all of that nervous soon faded away and became replaced with excitement.
She started walking towards the Violet City's Gym with a little pep in her step as she hummed a cheerful tone. The Pokemon Gym itself was only about a three minute walk away from the Pokemon Center. Therefore, it took her no time to get there. Her golden eyes stared up at the massive building standing before her. She could feel her nerves starting to increase, yet again. She performed a quick breathing techniques and practiced a couple of positive self-talk exercises with herself to boost up her confidence. She released a deep breath before entering inside of the gym. She now strutted confidently into the building as she scoped out the place, happening to find the Gym Leader without too much trouble. She made her way towards the highest platform and soon made her presence known. "My name is Aphrodite and I'm here to challenge the Gym Leader." She spoke out in a voice full of confidence. She wouldn't let anyone or anything shake her confidence now.

Comforting his Pokemon after a recent defeat by another challenger Aphrodite was an unexpected visitor. The gap between challengers was usually a bit more than this but as a gym leader he would not back down from a challenge even if he had next to no time to prepare. " My this is a bit sudden. I would have captured a few more Pokemon had I known my gym was going to become so popular all of a sudden. It is nice to meet you Aphrodite. My name is Falkner and I am the Violet City gym leader. My last battle did not go so well however I will gladly accept your challenge." As the held out his arms a Pidgey flew down from the ceiling and landed on his outreached arm. The flying type looked at him strangely as it was not prepared for another battle already after getting shocked by a Mareep in it's last battle. " I know that last battle was pretty rough but I have faith that you can do this Pidgey." As he lowered his arm the bird hopped down onto the ground still questioning how smart getting into another battle was. Falkner was full of confidence as he spoke again. "As you can probably tell I am a fan of flying types. They are elegant creatures with the amazing ability of fight and excellent eyesight. They may not have large muscles but their wings more than make up for it." As he looked over at APhrodite he wondered to himself what she might use as her first Pokemon. As he waited for her to choose he began to speak once more. " I am curious to see what Pokemon you will use. I see all kinds of trainers and Pokemon here and it is always a delight whenever I see what strategies trainers try to use against me." He then grew silent as he waited for the battle to start. Falkner accepts your challenge. He sends out a Level 10 Pidgey. Please select a Pokemon.

A soft chuckled escaped from Aphrodite's pink lips as she heard the shock tone ringing through Falkner's voice. It was quite obvious that the Gym Leader wasn't expecting another challenger at this time. He seemed a little unprepared to talk on a mother challenger at the moment and Aphrodite almost thought about offering him a little more time to get himself together before coming back to challenge him again. However, she really didn't want to have to do that right now. She wanted to earn her first badge today and hopefully move on towards the next town or city within the next hour or so. Aphrodite smiled as Falkner accepted her challenge. The blue-haired Gym Leader's confident appeared to have been a little shaken up from his previous battle and she wonder how it would effect him in her battle against him. "It's a pleasure to meet you Falkner, I look forward to battling against you." She stated as a warm smile curved against her soft lips. She would then glance over at small Pidgey resting against his arm, greeting him with a friendly smile, too.
She made her way towards the opposite side of the battlefield. She withdrew a small red and white orb from around her waist and held it in the dainty hand. "I'm a huge fan of the newly discovered type of Pokemon known as the Fairy-type Pokemon. Fairy-type Pokemon petite, unique and enchanting. They are full of heart and spirit. Do not estimate their small size and cute appearance. Fairy Pokemon can easily take on Pokemon that are more physically intimidating than them." Aphrodite explained, gently kissing her Poke Ball before gracefully tossing it into the air. Within seconds, a cheerful Dedenne appeared from the flash of crimson light. "Lana, let's start off with Thunderbolt!" The golden-haired trainer commanded her Pokemon.
Aphrodite sent out Lana (Dedenne)! Lana used Thunderbolt!

Falkner listened to Aphrodite as she spoke, smiling that as a flying enthusiast, he was meeting a fairy type enthusiast, a Pokemon type that was recently discovered. He was going to comment until he heard something off from the challenger's words. "Thunderbolt". While electric types moves are occasionally heard here and there in the gym, he did not think of a move this powerful. Sure, he might have heard of some Thunder Wave or Thundershock, but it's super rare to hear "Thunderbolt" in this gym. Out from the Pokeball was a yellow electric mouse, that looked sort of like Pikachu, except it's different. What Pokemon could this be? He ordered his Pokemon to counter with a Sand-Attack, but the electric moves blasts the sand away from the Dedenne instead of flicking on the mouse. In one hit, his Pidgey dropped like a fly. "You did well, Pidgey, return! I don't see Pokemon like yours around here. Could your electric mouse Pokemon be a fairy type too? I'm sure some Pokemon may look cute but they aren't fairy type, right? Like an Eevee is definitely cute but not a fairy type Pokemon." Then, after Aphrodite had answered, he would swap out to his stronger flying Pokemon, a Pidgeotto. "While you may be able to knock out my Pidgey in one hit, Pidgeotto is tougher than Pidgey." He smiled, hoping that this challenger won't think his gym would be a walk in the park.
Lana OHKO Pidgey! She gained 2 levels and is now level 15! She wants to learn the move Charm, delete a move? She gained 1 happiness, now +2! Falkner sent out his (Level 15) Pidgeotto next!

Aphrodite's dainty fingers quickly covered her mouth as soft giggles escaped from her mouth after noticing the Gym Leader's facial expression due to hearing her order her Pokemon to use one of the most powerful electric-type moves known within the region. Aphrodite had recently taught her Dedenne the new move just for this gym challenge. She was more than pleased to know that her hard earn money would not be used in vain. The Thunderbolt hit its mark and quickly struck the Pidgey down in defeat. The golden-haired beauty almost felt bad for taking out Falkner's first Pokemon with so much ease. "Amazing job Lana, that new move is truly dazzling and powerful!" She praised her Pokemon before turning her attention back towards the Gym Leader, waiting or him to release his next Pokemon.
Aphrodite smiled when Falkner asked about her Pokemon. She then nodded her head at his question. "Yes. My little Dedenne here is an electric and fairy-type Pokemon. A lot of cute and petite Pokemon are fairy types. It is kind of one of the requirements. However, like you mentioned before there are some cute Pokemon, who are not of the fairy-type family. Eevee may not be considered a Fairy-type, but it can evolve into a Fairy-type Pokemon known as Sylveon." She explained Falkner. It wasn't long before Falkner's next Pokemon appeared onto the battlefield. "It definitely looks a like stronger, but I'm confident that we will be able to take it down without too much of an issue. Lana use Thunderbolt again!" The small mouse Pokemon quickly jumped into the air and summoned another powerful jolt of electricity from its body and fired it towards her new foe.
Lana used Thunderbolt!

"I see, well you certainly have quite an exotic pokémon there. Well trained too. I'll try to make this at least a bit interesting for you," the gym leader replied with a calm nod. If there was one thing his pidgeotto had that gave electric types a run for their money it would be lowering accuracy; with the bonus of some minor ground type damage. Hoping this pidgeotto could out speed the little mouse Falkner called out his plan. "Go Pidgeotto! Use Mud Slap." His faithful avian, soft feathered and brightly colored, cawed confidently as the battle began. Unfortunately it was not the bird that moved first. The speedy little mouse buckled down and had already begun charging the electrical energy needed for another Thunderbolt. As Pidgeotto dove down to gather the dirt and mud required for its own attack Lana took the prime opportunity to zap the bird. Despite pidgeotto's best efforts the strength of the bolt was just too much for him to bear, and he went unconscious. It was an understatement to say Falkner looked disappointed. He released a silent sigh, grabbing his pokémon's pokéball and recalling his friend back to rest. The gym leader put on a smile afterward though, as the challenger had fought fair, done well, and was more than prepared for his gym. "A lot of people come into my gym with electric types hoping for an easy win, but you and your pokémon put them to shame. Sure it was a clear type advantage, but you didn't just rely on a little Thundershock to do the job and have no planning beyond that. Most of those new trainers don't fair to well against my bird pokémon." Falkner walked across the prepared battlefield, pulling a little box out. As he neared Aphrodite he opened it, revealing the shiny Zephyr badge and a signature TM. "Congratulations! You've earned your first badge. As well, take this TM. It contains information on the move Roost." He closed the box and offered it to her, along with some money for her victory. VICTORY!
Lana OHKO'd Falkner's Pidgeotto! She grew to Lv 18 Lana wants to learn Parabolic Charge. Delete an old move? She gains +1 Happiness! Falkner was defeated! He gives Aphrodite P1560, the Zephyr Badge, and TM 51: Roost! And she can now use HM06 outside of Battle.

As expected, it only took one Thunderbolt to finish off Falkner's last Pokemon. The pleasing smile that once curved against Aphrodite's lips soon found its way back to her as the Pidgeotto fell from the sky and landed onto the ground with a loud crashing sound. Aphrodite walked over and picked up her small Electric/Fairy-type friend and picked her up. "Thanks for doing such a wonderful job after there. Lana, with your hard work and determination we were able to win our first badge!" She spoke to Lana, giving her a quick kiss against her forehead. The Dedenne let out a cheerful cry as she glanced up into her trainers eyes for a few seconds. Aphrodite smiled at Lana before returning back into her Poke Ball for a well-deserved rest.
Aphrodite turned her attention towards Falkner, her warm orbs watching him walk towards her with a small box in his hand. He delivered a small speech and Aphrodite nodded her head as she listened to his kind compliments about her Pokemon and their battling skills. "Thank you so much. It was an honor battling against you and your Flying-type Pokemon." She smiled as she took his gifs. "Take care and perhaps our paths will cross again in the future." She spoke, waving goodbye before turning her body away from him and moving towards the exit. A huge smile still curved against her lips as she glanced down at the shiny new badge resting in the palm of her hand.
Lana is forgetting Thunder Shock and learning Parabolic Charge! End of thread!
