The pink bundle of joy cheered happily in reply to the trainer. It gave a twirl on the wind, its two leaves helicoptering away in a gentle motion while the hoppip rode the breeze. It closed its eyes as it dreamed of how it would be with a glorious scarf trailing after it as it flew from place to place, bopping wherever the wind took it. So content with its thoughts it almost let the mild breeze take it too far away! With an embarrassed chirp it set its head leaves into extreme chopping speeds in order to place itself back into proper facing against the fashion sensible bug type. Hoppip did a flip in the air, puffing out its cheeks then releasing its air and slowing its flight so it could lower itself closer to the ground. Squealing cheerily it prepared itself for the fight to come. With its stubby little stub hands it gave a little wave to signal that it was ready to accept that offer for some stylin' accessories. Maxwell king » OOC: This should be interesting, I hope!(Running Shoes Activated!) Much to Max's delight, the wild Hoppip was up for the challenge in front of it. Max watched on with an intrigued expression on his face as the cottonweed pokemon celebrated in excitement. The wild Hoppip appeared confident in it's ability to succeed in the challenge that had been set out and motioned for the battle to begin. The gentle side of Max disappeared at the Hoppip's signal, it was all business now.
"Hope, let's start things off with a combination of Stun Spore into String Shot!"
Hope the Spewpa nodded her in a downward motion to acknowledge her trainer's commands. Hope was determined not to let her trainer down and prove her value to the team as she stared down the wild Hoppip and prepared herself for battle. Nearby Jupiter the Mareep was bouncing around in excitement, although Jupiter was clearly happy for her teammate to experience the feeling of a battle, a tad bit of jealousy was present as she wanted to keep fighting and grow stronger. Max's attention was fixated upon the make-shift battle field that was inhabited by Hope the Spewpa and the wild Hoppip, both pokemon were ready for battle.

Eager to earn itself some snazzy clothes of its own, the Hoppip looked energised and ready to fight. Well, about as energised as a Hoppip can look. The little seedling used its leaves to direct itself down toward the ground, picking up a little pace due to gravity and expertly weaving its way toward Hope. The ususal playfulness one might associate with a Hoppip was nowhere to be seen here; this creature was going to fight as well as it could. After all, who wouldn't with such a reward on offer? It slammed its body into Hope, which seemed to pack a surprising punch considering how light Hoppip tended to look. The Spewpa managed to stay put, however, not letting the excited Hoppip gain any kind of advantage. She then made her counter-attack, letting loose a tonne of tiny, yellow spores. The powder fully coated Hoppip, who... just... kind of admired the pretty colours. This really was something. Not only did it have a nice scarf, it also made the air look cool. The Stun Spore seemingly had no other effects at all on this Grass type, so it was free to take in the sights. Still quite dazzled by the display of yellow before it, Hoppip wasn't quite sure how best to express itself. It was so very impressed by this human, but how best to show its gratitude? Another Tackle would seem very rude right now and, as much as Hoppip wanted to win, "rude" wasn't something it wanted to be called. No, there was only one move that would do in this scenario. Hoppip danced and flailed about happily in the sky, letting the air carry it back up a little further while it celebrated with joy. What a wonderful show, human! Keep it going! This was the intended meaning of its little dance, but it could only hope that this was conveyed correctly. It smiled even wider than normal, pleased at its performance so far. Then things would turn serious once more, with Hope promptly letting loose a thick stream of silk from her mouth. Well, whatever Spewpa have. They must have an orifice of some kind. Anyway, the webbing stuck itself to Hoppip's leaves, immediately slowing them down and leaving Hoppip a little unsure of itself in the sky. Hoppip nodded, remembering where exactly it was. This was a battle, and it had to fight hard. Time to win itself a scarf. Or whatever beautiful accessory this human had in store for it. Wild Battle

Maxwell king » OOC: Battle for the ages or a battle that will take ages? xD (Running Shoes Activated!) Max gazed upon the ensuing battle with a concerned facial expression, the young adult male wanted to trust Hope and her ability to emerge from the battle as the victor however a cloud of doubt was slowly covering his mind, after all, this was her debut into the world of combat.
The scene that played out in front of Max had a striking resemblance to a coordinator's contest taking place between Hope the Spewpa and the wild Hoppip. A simple miscalculation on Max's part had wasted a turn of attack, he was going to make sure that certainly didn't happen again.
"Let's pick up the pace now Hope! Use String Shot and then follow it up with Tackle!"
Max had devised a plan on the go, if he and Hope were able to subdue the Hoppip with string shot then it's speed would drastically reduce and provide the scatterdust pokemon with an advantage to exploit. Hope turned to glance at her trainer and nodded her head in acknowledgement to his commands, the young bug type pokemon then turned back to face her opponent with a determined look upon her face as she prepared to execute her trainer's orders.

Hoppip struggled against the sticky webs that had tangled themselves around its leaves and body. The little nubby arms wriggled helplessly as the little grass type floated about on the breeze, still managing to keep afloat if with a little difficulty in otherwise moving about. If there was one thing it could do well it was float around on the wind. The string though, that just wouldn't do! With all this mess how was it supposed to wear fancy glasses? Though it didn't have a nose so that probably wouldn't work. A styling scarf though, that it could sport. Maybe a bandana like a ring whirling around its head leaves... Regardless it would need to do something to buy some time to clear away at least some of the icky web so it could do more than bob up and down in the air. Though, Max and Hope had a different plan. Contradictory to Hoppip's wishes the spewpa spit out another round of sticky string. Hoppip wailed in distress, its tiny arms and feet flailing to try and keep as much as it from sticking to its main body as possible. It was rather fruitless. At this point the poor wild pokémon was more white than pink. The helicoptering pokémon pouted underneath all that webbing. It wriggled harder, beginning to spin about on the spot. It's tail had joined in at this point, which was a little more successful in moving around due to it being a little longer than its stubby arms. Its noodle tail escaped a swath of web and waved about cutely. The poor thing looked adorably distressed. How could it ever pose a threat? Hope considered this as she watched, lowering her guard a little as a result. Wild Battle

Maxwell king » OOC: Sorry about the running shoes, i completely forgot. Max's plan was slowly yet steadily playing out as the forever energetic Hoppip was covered in white, sticky string. The wild Hoppip was a much more agile pokemon than Hope, that was precisely why Max was hoping to slow the helicopter like pokemon down to even out the playing field. Hope gazed upon her opponent struggling to fight through the string, the poor thing looked so helpless. Max wasn't feeling quite as forgiving as his partner was of the situation, the desire to not lose a bet that he proposed was driving his desire to win.
"Keep your eyes peeled Hope, can't be letting your guard down! Now Hope, I want you to use Tackle while the wild Hoppip is struggling with the string."
Hope nodded her head in acknowledgement of her trainers command, the young Spewpa fixated her attention upon her still flailing opponent, now that the groundwork had been laid and her opponent slowed to her level of movement, it was time to go on the offensive. Max's gaze was fixated upon the wild Hoppip and the sticky situation it had been put into, the young male adult was not opposed to adding a new member to the team, this would simply provide an ample test of the wild pokemon's desire to win.

With the new orders given to the stout bug Hoppip's mind whirled with how to deal with all this webbing. Struggling just wasn't cutting it, but how was it supposed to move around with all this junk on it? The lil pink copter pokémon mrrrr'd softly while Hope went into action. Shuffling forward the spewpa parted through the grasses and made its way to her hovering opponent. Now close, Hope scrunched down then sprung herself upward to tackle Hoppip. The smaller pokémon squealed as the two went down in the soft brush. Well now it was on the ground so... perhaps with all the grass around it would be easier to get itself in an optimal position to fight the sticky string and get something done to the spewpa! Hoppip began bobbing up and down, hopping and rolling with various attempts at thrusting its stubby little appendages out for acrobatic moves. It resembled an excitable child pouncing in a series of mud puddles just after a rain. Though there just weren't any puddles for Hoppip to splash around in. Overall it seemed its efforts were fruitless. Wild Battle

Maxwell king » OOC: Slow and steady wins the race Max smiled gleefully as he gazed upon the ensuing battle. Confidence was one of Max's strong suits, however even he was surprised at how effective his improvised plan of attack was. The wild Hoppip was trapped within a web of white string and appeared to be focusing upon expending energy on escaping this cruel trap. Much like her trainer, Hope was pleased that her opponent was essentially unable to fight back, after all this was her debut into the world of fighting.
"Keep up the good work Hope, now let's hit it with another Tackle!"
Hope scrunched her head in a downward motion to acknowledge her trainer's command, the concept of battle seemed simple enough to her, all she had to do was execute what was requested of her. Max's facial expression had returned to one of blank fixation upon the battlefield, he and his partner likely had a limited amount of time to take advantage of before the wild Hoppip was to escape the string based trap and switch to an offensive stance.

The sticky webbing was still a problem for Hoppip as it could hardly move in its current situation. Hope had gotten lucky so far as the grass type Pokemon had yet to take any aggressive action but even so she had to be on guard just in case. Hope crawled towards Hoppip at a snails pace to get within striking distance to use her tackle attack while Hoppip kept trying to break free of its sticky entrapment. Hoppip finally got some luck as one of its legs popped free only to have Hope stare in down. The sticky webbing was still a burden and Hope collided with the poor pink Pokemon. The attack only hurt a little bit however every tiny bit of damage done would build up, slowly bring it closer to defeat. Hoppip was still too entangled to fight back this round but it still had one option, Hoppip started bouncing up and down like a kangaroo who had just gone on a caffine binge. The lack of a puddle was a problem as the attack did no damage though unlike the last time the bouncing freed just enough of Hoppip's leg that Tackle became an option once again. It was much needed news as Hoppip was falling behind in this battle up until now. The freed limbs were a blessing but it costed Hoppip a second turn that could have brought the battle into a more even state. It was still too early to tell if that second turn would be a critical mistake or not but Hoppip certainly could not afford any more costly errors. Maxwell king » OOC: No remorse for Hoppip, Max's gotta win at all costs after all. Also could the words from my last post be added to Max's Scyther egg next round please? The wild Hoppip continued to struggle as it tossed and turned in hopes of escaping from the trap that resembled silk like chains. Max had allowed his bug type partner a chance to showcase her skill-set by having Hope essentially tie her opponent down with her String Shot move. The strategical thinking that had been executed by Max to start off the battle was one of Max's strong suits.
At the conclusion of the most recent round of attacks it was apparent that the stranglehold grip of string that was holding Hoppip so still was beginning to fade. The small pink pokemon's leg's were now freed from the sticky string that had been holding them in place, this would more than likely allow the wild pokemon to initiate its own offence, Max however had not seen enough from Hope to trust her to win the battle in an all out offensive tug of war.
"Don't give the little bugger any space Hope, tie its legs back down with String Shot!"
Hope's vision was fixated upon the wild Hoppip, so far she had taken minimal damage and she was okay with that and was not worried that offensive moves weren't dealing ground-breaking damage to her opponent. Like a loyal puppet listening to its masters orders the small bug type pokemon shot a stream of white thread from its mouth towards the wild Hoppip. The current plan of attack involved tightening the sticky grip that String Shot had provided to hold the cottonweed pokemon's in a defensive state. Hope's latest String Shot attack had been aimed primarily towards the wild Hoppip's legs in hopes of tying them back up.

Hoppip was in quite the pickle, figuratively speaking. Its entire body was guffed up by a significant coating of webbing, leaving it almost totally unable to move at all. The little ball of silk tried its best to keep floating about freely, but really it was a miracle that it was even able to float with all of its excess weight. And Hope wasn't about to let it get away with just that either, it seemed. The Spewpa let loose yet more of its sticky string, soon smothering the little red seedling in a fresh restrictive shell. Hoppip had had enough trying and fell to the floor. Though, there was no way that it was giving up on this match. A fancy garment was still on the line, as far as it could tell. That was enough motivation. Hoppip did as much as it could to "charge" forward, its stumpy little "legs" taking it in a very awkward-looking run toward Hope. Once there, it slammed its significantly-heightened weight into the little cocoon-esque critter. Hope teetered back for a moment, in total surprise at the power behind that one Tackle. Perhaps this strategy was backfiring after all! (lolno am competent mod this is fluff deal with it) (174 + 277 = 451 words added [hur hur, 's on 666])Wild Battle

Maxwell king » OOC: Play time is over! (Crimson swapped in for Hope) The battle between Hope the Spewpa and the wild Hoppip was slow and certainly wasn't a spectacle that was going to get the blood pumping. A significant deal of the reasoning behind the snail like nature of the battle was a result of Max's strategical thinking and Hope's execution of the plan.
The wild Hoppip was almost exclusively covered in the sticky white string like substance. Despite the physical impairments that had been cast upon it the young cottonweed pokemon valiantly continued to push through and was even able to mount an offensive manoeuvre upon Hope, much to the bug type pokemon's surprise.
"You fought well young Hoppip, I admire your fighting spirit. Keep training and one day you dreams may come true, today however is not that day."
The sudden change in the tone of voice that Max was using had sounded jovial and upbeat for a moment, the young man clearly had a new plan. Hope turned and gazed towards her trainer, what exactly was he planning to do?
"Not a bad first hit out for you Hope, we still have a lot to work on but for now it's time for you to rest."
Max retrieved Hope's pokeball from his left trouser pocket and pointed it towards his bug type partner as the red and white spherical device multiplied in size before shooting a red laser beam in the direction of Hope. Hope was seemingly not phased by her trainers decision to cut her time out on the battlefield short, she had given the fight everything she had. The red light emanating from the pokeball enveloped Hope and returned her into her place of rest, the pokeball returned to its miniature size and Max returned it into his trouser pocket once more. Max proceeded to reach into his right trouser pocket and retrieved a different pokeball.
"Play time is over now little one, it's time for the little kids to run along while the big kids handle business"
Max released Crimson the Charmander from his pokeball, the fire lizard pokemon gazed across the field and noticed his adversary as his stubby little hands re-adjusted his goggles from the top of his head over his eyes. Max's was well aware of the type difference between the wild Hoppip and Crimson the Charmander, with that in mind the male young adult smirked towards their opponent.
"Crimson, end this now with Flamethrower"

Hoppip had finally started to turn things around in the lasr round but its troubles were far from over. It thought Maxwell was going to keep using Hope until he got lucky but her trainer quickly dashed those hopes as he recalled the young bug. Replacing her with a young Charmander Maxwell now had all the firepower he would need to end the battle quickly. Before he could do that however Hoppip would get a single free turn and as it was in a desperate situation it used Synthesis to restore its health. The move worked but it was not going to help with what was about to come its way. Hoppip froze in terror as Maxwell gave his order. Hoppip tried everything it could to prepare for the incoming Flamethrower but the sticky web made its situation worse. It moved so slowly Crimson could have waited a week before attacking and he would have been safe. With all the time in the world as he closed the gap, ready to finish Hoppip off. The feeling of pure terror ran through Hoppip's body as a large flame formed in Crimson's mouth as he began making his move. A large flame shot out of his mouth scoring a direct hit on Hoppip. It screeched in immense pain as its whole body became engulfed in flames. It fell over as a series of crackling noises came from the small flames still on its body. The Hoppip was just barely alive as Crimson started to celebrate his victory. Hoppip was at Maxwell's mercy as it lie on the ground unable to move. If he did decide to bring it along it would not be able to resist him at all. Pokemon Battle Hoppip | Level 9 HP: 0% (0/28) Status: Normal, -6 Speed Move: Hoppip used Synthesis! Maxwell king » OOC: #THATSALLFOLKS. And just like that it was all over for the wild Hoppip. Crimson's Flamethrower attack was more than enough to put an end to the battle. It was a genuine wonder the small cottonweed pokemon hadn't died from the powerful fire type move, it was a true display of its resilience and heart to continue fighting, even if it meant for its own life.
"Gotta give props to the little guy, he never gave up."
While the initial stages of the battle between Hope the Spewpa and the wild Hoppip weren't the most exciting show that could be put on display, it provided Max an opportunity to devise a strategy with one of his pokemon and give it some valuable experience in battle.
"Quality finish there Crimson."
Crimson the Charmander smiled at the praise from his trainer, the fire type lizard was proud of how easily he had put the wild Hoppip to rest. Max turned and reached into his backpack and retrieved a spare pink scarf that he had been holding in the case of Hope losing hers. Max motioned for Crimson to follow his lead as they walked over to the unconscious body of the wild Hoppip. Max proceeded to place the pink scarf next to the cottonweed pokemon.
"You likely can't hear me right now but keep up the good work young one, you showed a lot of heart and resilience, keep up the good work."
Max and Crimson ventured forward from the unconscious wild Hoppip and towards the end of the route, it was time to move on and face new challenges that lie ahead of them.
