The morning air greater Suzy like an old friend, it was odd since this was only her second day traveling. Feeling well rested and her new Pokemon now healed up, the young trainer walked through the streets of Cherrygrove. Mainly she was enjoying the view of the small town, seeing what she could before having to leave. The smell of the flowers almost intoxicating to the young trainer. She wanted to soak in as much of the city before continuing on her journey.
Leo walked beside her his sun glasses reflecting the morning light. He felt strong, ready to take on anything. Heck an Venusaur was nothing compared to him right now. With a smile on his face he walked along with his master, the young girl was so kind to him, he loved the girl. From his perspective, life with her was way better than with that Silver fellow. Frankly the Squirtle was glad his trainer was so caring.
The soft sounds of the water rising up on the bank of the water front was a nice sound for sure. It wasn't as common to find lakes and ponds in her old region, rivers were more abundant actually. So the soft sandy beach with almost still water was an interesting site to see. With Leo following Suzy went towards the water side to sit. Looking out onto the water as she did so.

Autumn had finally arrived in Johto, and the citizens of Cherrygrove were quite resentful of that fact. The glorious summer weather that they had been enjoying was replaced by a rather dull, overcast sky. Still, at least the weather wasn’t overly uncomfortable. Suzy could enjoy her time in the city, relaxing by the river with her trusted Squirtle in tow. Reflecting on their adventure so far, the twosome would have been quite comforted by the mild weather. Of course, it was not a patch on the weather they had just missed out on, but that was by the by. The wind gently coursed through Suzy’s hair while the waters slowly ebbed and flowed in front of her. It was truly a relaxing scenario. A small, brown-ish Pokémon watched the tidal movements with the trainer and her Squirtle, albeit from quite a distance. The little Zigzagoon hadn’t noticed any human movement so far, due to the water being so captivating and beautiful. Taken in by the sheer charm of nature, the Zigzagoon sat calmly and enjoyed being alive for a few moments. Staying there for about ten minutes, it yawned before realising that it was actually quite hungry. Time for dinner, it thought to itself. Rising slowly, it stepped out into the roadside and was immediately spooked by a car rushing past. Cars were a rare sight in the calm Cherrygrove City, and this really disturbed Zigzagoon. It ran across the road at top speed, not looking where it was going. Zigzagging everywhere, it bumped into Suzy unannounced. The scruffy Normal type stood dazed for a bit before shaking off the shock and looking up at the human. Noticing her Squirtle, it realised that this must be one of those ‘trainers’ that everyone talked about. They were good for battling, apparently. Zigzagoon gave an opening battle-cry, waiting for its opponent’s response. A Zigzagoon (Level 9) wants to battle! Will Suzy fight or flee?

Once Suzy was awoken from her trance staring out on the water when something ran straight into her side. At first startled the young blond made a noise, something akin to a squeak before looking to see a scraggly Zigzagoon looking up at her in pure surprise and shock. They had a stare off before readying itself to battle. Suzy stood up realizing what the Zigzagoon wanted, Leo already getting ready to battle. The young trainer put a foot in front of her companion blocking his path.
Leo watched as his trainer rummaged though her bag before realizing what she was doing, after all some of the others needed to battle too. Pulling out a Pokeball Suzy pressed on it making it grow in her hand, tossing it she called out. "Kate I choose you!"
A purple rodent Pokemon came out of the ball it's eyes scanning the premise to get an idea of what was happening. The Rattata was obviously met with an opponent. In fact it was another rodent, and that made her smile. 'Ratta, Rattata!' She called out. The rat Pokemon stood ready to attack. "Kate, use Tail Whip!" Though reluctantly the Rattata did as instructed by her trainer wishing that they had used a physical move instead. Turning her rear to the Zigzagoon Kate whipped her tail back and forth.

Zigzagoon kept its eyes firmly on Leo, fully expecting to see the Squirtle come into the battle. After all, why else would it be there if not to act as the vanguard for this human’s army? The surprise would’ve been understandable, then, when Suzy pulled out a Pokéball and launched it toward the racoon-like critter. Looking incredibly interested in its new opponent, the Zigzagoon was soon looking upon a fellow Normal type. Kate bared her glimmering teeth, more than happy to do the honours for Suzy in this competition. However, Zigzagoon’s attention was drifting back and forth between the two Pokémon that Suzy now had beside her. Its naturally short attention span was beginning to show as it decided who to focus on. Both Pokémon looked equally well-groomed and pleasant. Fortunately, the decision was made for it when Kate stepped forward a little more, bringing her opponent’s survival instincts to the forefront of its small mind. Zigzagoon barked once, realising now that this’d be a one-on-one encounter after all. It was time to ignore the Squirtle, if it could. The tanuki Pokémon ran toward Kate, its head pressed close to the ground while it braced itself for impact. With a cry of “GOOOON”, the small mammal crashed into Kate firmly, knocking the breath out of the Rattata and pushing her onto her rear end momentarily. This Zigzagoon was obviously a very tough one and the newly-captured Kate was probably going to have a rough time facing it herself. That is, unless Suzy had enough Potions and patience to help her Pokémon to survive while she landed a few attacks of her own. That wasn’t for Kate to think about, though. Her job was simply to fight. She righted her body quickly, glaring at the high-level opponent. Turning around, the rodent swished her tail. Left, right, left, right. Zigzagoon was instantly enamoured with the movement. It was naturally easy to please, but this was quite a fun little game. Quite what the goal was, it didn’t know. Was it just a show, or should it try and catch the tail? These thoughts plagued Zigzagoon’s thoughts, taking some of its mind off the battle. A slightly unusual way for Tail Whip to succeed, but it was a success all the same. Zigzagoon sighed audibly as the tail wagging came to an end, looking rather disappointed. Wild Battle

Suzy watched on as Kate enthusiastically ran forward, ready to battle. It brought a warm feeling into her chest seeing her Pokemon ready to fight by her side. The Ratatta's head strong determination was definitely present, not to mention a very heart warming site. Yet all those good feelings where left in the dirt (or well sand) when Kat took a strong hit from the Zigzagoon. The purple rodent thrown back slightly the wind knocked out of their little lungs. "Kate!" Suzy cried in exasperation worry growing for her Pokemon. Yet Kat got back up, scraped and bruised for sure but was still standing. Suzy smiled at this, Kate was ok.
Leo stood ready knowing that Kate couldn't take the hard hits from the higher level Pokemon ready to step in if need be. The Squirtle was still a little upset by his trainers lack of using him but he would get over it. For now a team member was a team member and Kate sure didn't look good. With a growl Leo rand forward and stood in front of Kate, defensively placing himself between the two. Suzy understood what Leo ment and looked over the situation. "Kate sit out and rest for a while." Begrudgingly Kate did as she was told and stepped back joining her trainers side.
"Leo use Tackle, teach that Zigzagoon not to mess with the best!" Suzy spoke pointing towards the wild Pokemon in front of them. A mischievous grin crossed Leo's face as the Pokemon punched his fist into his hand. Trying to intimidate the Zigzagoon, before preparing themselves to attack.

The ridiculous raccoon Pokemon watched in almost awe as Kate withdrew from combat. Gaze fixated upon the tail, the wild mon was fascinated before it noticed the sudden lack of a play partner. That was, until the Squirtle stepped forward. Far more menacing, this Pokemon was, but the Zigzagoon seemed to not much care for the difference in power. It was far more interested in playtime! And so, Zigzagoon hopped in the air, playfully flipping its tail around before starting to shovel sand towards Squirtle's entire body. While it didn't hurt, it got all up in Leo's eyes, blinding him. To make it worse, the Zigzagoon seemed to enjoy this game and kept shoveling, depositing a second batch of flying sand into Leo's eyes. It turned its head over its shoulder to look and see as Leo blindly charged in to Tackle a good distance away. Large, brown eyes watched as Leo made enemies with a nearby log, full on smashing through the semi-rotted, hollowed out wood. Wild Pokemon Battle

Leo began to rub his eyes fruitlessly when the sand hit him. The little bits easily finding their way into his eyes. If he could curse he most definitely would at this point, but being that he still had a job to do he charged forward ready to tackle his opponent. Sadly he missed by a long shot running head long into a rotting piece of wood, anger seemingly boiling in the creatures blood. If he could see better he would be sending the Zigzagoon a hate filled glare.
Suzy on the other hand was worried, she didn't know Zigzagoon could learn sand attack this early on. Atleast back at home it wasn't till level 13. Weighing her options she decided to pull out a Pokeball, knowing full well that Sand Attack wouldn't be a problem now. "Leo you are benched! Lune I choose you!" Throwing out another Pokeball a owl Pokemon came out, it's one leg graced with an angle chain from its trainer, it had a silver moon on it. The owl looked slightly dazed but once it realized where it was it quickly stood straighter. "Lune, use hypnosis!" Suzy called out to her Pokemon.

The Wild Zigzagoon watched as Leo was swapped out for a hoothoot. Sadly for Lune however, the wild izagoon was getting annoyed with all the switching and after lune came about charged straight at them. "Zigzagoon!" It shouted as it hit Lune who took it but didn't want to take too many of them. With that done Lune began to make a noice that would put the Zigzagoon asleep. The Wild Zigzagoon saw this however and quickly dodged out fo the way before charging once more at Lune. Lune was caught off guard and was hit once more. This time lune had trouble getting up signalling thatn the last attack had been more powerful then last time. This would what trainers would call a critical hit and sadly for Lune it had been at the wrong time. Lune slowly managed to get back up and did a small cry hoping Suzy would understand, "Hoothoot". Suzy really needed to step up her game, endlessly switching her Pokemon wasn't doing her team any good, and by the looks of it half of her team wouldn't last much longer. She let out a hefty sigh, stress now setting in from what had just transpired. A bead of sweat slid down the side of her face, worry apparent in her eyes. Then an idea struck her like a train. Looking through her bag she moved a few items around before pulling out a potion and thanking the xerneas for it being there.
Suzy ran over to lune her kicking up small bits of sand as she went before finding herself crouched next to the bird. Taking the potion in hand and her Pokemon in the other Suzy spoke softly. "Don't worry Lune I got you." Before spraying the potion on the Pokemon. With its health back Suzy smiled standing up again and spoke. "Lune use Hypnosis again!"

Hoping to pull through this tough little Zigzagoon, Suzy pulled out a potion to recover her little feathery hopping Pokemon. The Zigzagoon was getting ready for a tackle when it saw the Hoothoot came back stronger. The beaked Pokemon was hopping as energetically as the battle had just started, and the Zigzagoon was startled. Seeing the weakened Pokemon was no longer weakened and energized, the normal type skidded to a stop and instead kicked up some at the Hoothoot. However, the night watcher Pokemon wasn't going to let such a little speck of sand to bother her vision. She shook her head and shed a little quick tear to get rid of those sand. Then, the Zigzagoon tried again and got close toward the energetic Hoothoot, but it only managed to leap and slapped its tail on the Hoothoot's body to weaken her defense. Maybe if it used tackle again then the annoying Hoothoot would be back to the Pokeball, and the human would switch back to the Rattata or Squirtle earlier. Lune tried again with the Hypnosis, and stared straight at the Zigzagoon as her eyes glowed red. Soon, the Zigzagoon fell asleep and curled adorably on the field to sleep. Nap time!
