anyone's got the power they don't see it 'cause they don't understand Tags;; @mod Words;; 448 Notes;; hover over pkmn for info The woman gave the pebble lying in front of her a solid kick, sending if flying away into the bushes to who-knows-where. Not that it mattered. New bark town was such an annoyingly long distance away from other places, in Kay's mind, that what happened there didn't really matter to anyone in other places. New bark was really just an out of the way town, with nothing remarkable in it except for the lab. And why had the lab been built there in the first place?
Kaileah rubbed the surface of the smooth, red ball she had been given contemplatively, wondering if she had made the right choice in an companion. Venasaurs were excellent companions, from what she had heard. One stun spore -or was it sleep spore?- from her new companion would bring the enemy crashing down. Hopefully. She'd rather a companion that didn't require much looking after, and bulbasaurs were half plants, from what she'd learned. Shouldn't take too much to control the creature. Hopefully.
Of course, the creature was also to be her companion too, so the Bulbasaur would get plenty of attention, regardless of whether it was needed or not. She'd already thought of a few names that might suit the Bulbasaur. Why not release the pokemon now?
A flash of light emerged from the ball, as Kay released her starter Pokemon. The creature looked no different from the one she often saw in books or posters, although she could be a slightly brighter shade-Kay couldn't quite tell. As round and as adorable as the posters. But ferocity would come with age and evolution, she knew. She crouched down carefully, observing the Pokemon.
'Heya, dear.' She murmured, patting the dinosaur-like Pokemon on the head. The Bulbasaur replied by sneezing, several times rapidly, before stretching her head towards the sun. Kay blinked, then laughed.
'You like the sun then, do you?' She asked, standing up again and brushing the dust off her clothes automatically. 'I don't blame you. It's not a bad idea.' She'd a name to suit the Pokemon, she was sure. What was it?
'Ra.' She said, abruptly. The Egyptian God of the sun seemed a suitable name for the sun-loving Pokemon. Technically, it was a male god's name, but it had always sounded feminine to her. 'From now, you're Ra.'
The woman began walking again, this time not so sullenly. There was a lot of road to be covered, after all, and she'd rather reach somewhere civilised by nightfall, if that was possible. The Bulbasaur followed, plodding along steadily.

Well, that was enough sunlight for now. The once bright sun is covered from view by threatening looking clouds. As threatening as clouds could be. It's not quite raining, but the air begins to get a bit muggy. The humidity draws Pokemon out of hiding, being the harbinger autumn. Autumn meant winter would be along shortly, and none of them wanted to be ill prepared. Most of all, a slightly smaller Rattata that was already peering out at the trainer and her Pokemon. It was no good, trying to take on a trainer. They were sneaky with their extra items and usually ganging up Pokemon. But the low rumble in the hungry rat's stomach got the best of it. Rushing on out, the purple pokemon stood ready to face the challenge of fighting a trainer! A level 2 Rattata wants your food! Will you Fight or Flee?

anyone's got the power they don't see it 'cause they don't understand Tags;; @mod Words;; 221 Notes;; used tackle The sudden change in weather did not startle the woman, nor did she react in any way except to tug her jacket a little higher to cover her neck. It was Autumn, after all, a season prone to changes in weather, as winter slowly took over summer.
The appearance of the rattata, too, did not startle the girl, at least at first. Pokemon ran amok in the wild, and a rattata was nothing new in areas deemed safe enough for newbies to the training business. In other words, not dangerous at all to another Pokemon, although it might raise some slight concern in humans without a pokemon accompanying. Lucky she wasn't one of them anymore.
It was not until the Bulbasaur nudged Kay, a little irritatedly, that she finally bothered to look up, and saw for the first time that the rat Pokemon was actually blocking their way.
'Ra, up you go.' She commanded, in a bored voice. She'd seen plenty of such Pokemon in cities, and was hoping for something more exotic once she was out in the wild, but this seemed not to be. 'Though I don't suppose you know anything other than how to tackle, do you?' Hearing no answer from her companion, she shrugged.
'Then charge away.'

Rattata here, Rattata there. Rattata everywhere! Or so it seems. The little rat fidgets some, watching the trainer and her Bulbasaur seem more... annoyed by it being present. It did its very best to muster up some kind of attempt at sounding threatening before letting out a pained squeak at the sudden introduction of Bulbasaur mass to its body. The Tackle hit hard, making Rattata stagger in place. Yet, it persevered! and rushed to return the favor upon Ra's much tougher hide. The purple rat almost bounced off comedically after making contact, already getting ready to brace itself for further punishment from Ra.

[attr="class","wishing"] [attr="class","for"] everlasting & enternal. used tackle again [attr="class","look"]The rattata, surprisingly, didn't fall from that first hit. Perhaps it wasn't the best idea to underestimate her opponent, then. On the other hand, it wouldn't do to overestimate her opponent, either. 'Stupid rat.' She muttered, and she walked forward carelessly with both hand tucked into her jacket. If it wasn't the rat, she'd be on her way already. It did add some entertainment into the otherwise dull journey, but why did it have to be a rattata? Even a pidgey would be better. It might have been of some use later on if she captured it. Rattatas were useless for anything but practice. ' Just tackle it again.' She commanded in a bored voice. If the rat didn't move aside after that- well, maybe it'll be worth something. But that was hardly a likely thing. She'd see afterwards, in any case. Woe is Rattata! Unable to steel itself further, the follow up Tackle sends the rat skidding through the grass. Broken and defeated, it still does its best to stand before collapsing into the grass, exhausted. And yet, it manages to retain its consciousness, instead just looking at the trainer and her Pokemon to wait and see its fate.

[attr="class","wishing"] [attr="class","for"] everlasting & enternal. captured rattata, if I can't use my own code, please tell me. [attr="class","look"]unsurprisingly, the rattata was knocked over. It was still gazing at her, in an oddly disconcerting way, but Kay wasn't paying attention to the rat, at least for now. Her attention was wholly taken up by a certain bulbasaur. 'Not bad.' She said approvingly to the bulbasaur. 'Though I suppose it was only because it was a rattata- sorry, I'm kidding!' She amended as the bulbasaur butted her leg none too gently. She gave the bulbasaur an apologetic half-grin, then flapped her arm towards the road. 'We'd best get going, Ra, don't you think?'She walked forward, completely forgetting about the rattata lying on the road. At least until Ra gently sank her teeth into the girl's pant leg, and tugged her towards the fallen rat. 'What is-oh!' She exclaimed as the rattata came into sight once more. 'You want to take it with us? I'm not sure.' In other words, she wasn't sure whether to waste a pokeball on the purple rat. Of course, if it was to come with them, she oughtn't humiliate it too much. While she didn't know all that much about Pokemon emotions, she didn't want a Pokemo that didn't like her on her hands. 'Very well, then.' She shrugged, as if she couldn't care less, and took a pokeball out from her bag, and looked at the rattata in the eye. 'You'll get stronger, I suppose.'Then, she threw the ball towards the rodent, absorbing the Pokemon up in a stream of while light. Little is determined to prove that her names doesn't describe her. She's an intelligent spirit, who would never stand being put down. She's not loyal, exactly, but will pay back favours. Once the favour had been cancelled, however, she feels no tie to that particular person. The same goes for grudges too. She can hold a grudge for a lifetime, but after it's been paid back, she doesn't care much anymore.

With her first capture out of the way, even if she hadn’t initially planned to catch this one, Kay started off to explore more of Route 29. The battle hadn’t taken long at all, and the weather was still very mild and gloomy. The clouds overhead didn’t look all too threatening, but an overcast sky alone was enough to offset anyone’s mood. Still, with the outlook not being particularly ominous, the local Pokémon weren’t at all shy to come out of their homes and mingle in the open. This was always good news for a keen Pokémon Trainer; at worst, it’d just mean another battle to raise their team’s levels. And if things went well, Kay would have a third Pokémon before long. There seemed to be quite a few wild Pokémon around right now, with Pidgey lined across the tree branches up above and a large collection of Rattata and Sentret down below. In the distance, and quite a way off the beaten track, one might just have made out a Spinda, but it disappeared as quickly as it had arrived. As she continued across the footpath, some of the Pokémon grew a little restless. A flock of bird Pokémon seemingly started to argue amongst themselves. If Kay cared to pay attention to this little dispute, though, she’d notice that it was far from a single group. Some Pidgey and Spearow were involved in some kind of gang war, it would appear. They pecked at each-other furiously, each flock unhappy with the other’s presence. One would assume it was a fight over territory, which wasn’t unusual in the wild. The Spearow group were vastly outnumbered, however, and it wasn’t long before they were ousted from their tree. Angered, the birds flew about the immediate area and started to take their fury out on nearby Pokémon and trainers. One such Spearow flew right into Kay’s face, crying out angrily and quite deliberately aiming for the human. It was ready to fight. The ball of feathers crashed into the girl’s face, unable to reduce its own momentum in time. It fell to the floor, dazed and quite hurt. As it took a few seconds to regain its consciousness, Kay had a chance to scarper if she wanted to. Of course, she could also battle it if she wished. A wild Spearow (Level 5) has challenged Kay… kinda! Will she fight or flee? [With regards to the code, you wouldn’t be the first to use their own. If you want your other Pokémon changed to match, just post in the Pokémon/Item Transfer thread with the filled code.
I’ll add Little in a bit; just need to grab food.]
