Ditto slid across the floor, the icy rain acting as a lubricant to allow it to travel just a little easier right now than it might usually. The little shapeshifter was certainly not opposed to these conditions at all. It happily ran across the ground, carefree and completely oblivious to what was about to happen next. Then it saw Marchbaby and its heart sank. Great. Here was another human ready to fight. Ditto knew how these things worked by now. It was no fool. It was going to have to fight. The slime sighed, its body pulsing as it stretched its muscles out. Well, if it even has those. Hmm. Must do. Anyway. Um. Battle. March's Heracross flew out into the rainy environment, her wings aptly covered by the shielding plates on her back. Nevertheless, a bug might've been a little disturbed by the rain as it fell. Either way, she showed no such problems as she faced off against Ditto. Ditto took one look at its opponent and started to glow as it took in Honeysuckle's appearance. The sludgey creature quickly started to change its form, growing significantly in size and rather quickly morphing into a perfect copy of the Heracross opposite. It looked up and down its new body, exercising the new limbs while it got to grips with how this host functioned. Meanwhile, Honeysuckle braced herself for an impact of any kind, ready to counter-strike if the opportunity arose. Like hell it would... Wild Battle

Marchbaby's plan worked just like he hoped it would. The Ditto transformed into a Heracross falling for his trap and now the rest of his plan could go into action. As Ditto would copy everything but Honeysuckles Health it could be hit with ghost type attacks while knowing nothing that could hit a ghost type. " Ditto would usually be very smart to copy it's foe like this but this is a rare case where copying is quite an unfortunate mistake to make. You see my friend I used Atropos to capture Honeysuckle using a similar plan and now I can try it again." He said as Honeysuckle looked at him knowing exactly what was going to happen next.
" Honeysuckle you have done very well, I want you to take a step back so Atropos can handle the rest. If any Pokemon on our team can bring down a Heracross it is her.[/color] He did not have to say anything else as the bleached white Shuppet floated towards the transformed Ditto with a mile wide smirk on her face. She had used her type advantage to rander Honeysuckle powerless a while back and now she had a chance to do it again. " Oh glorious night I have another victim, I will have some fun with this one." The ominous full moon above them was quite a sight to behold as Atropos got into a good position to strike. She was quite eager to bring the Ditto down to size over time as it helplessly tried to defend itself.
" You have nowhere to run and nothing to protect you from my power. Even the shadows are my ally in this fight. Any hope you had of mercy died the moment you transformed and now you shall see the full extent of my power." She said as she began to disappear into the ground taking on a shadowy form. As soon as she was completely underground she sped towards the Ditto at an incredible speed not normally possible for a Shuppet. He maniacal laughing could be heard as the fast moving shadow grew closer and closer to it's target as Marchbaby gave orders to unleash her Shadow Sneak. " Atropos this might take a while but it is great practice for you to face a transformed Ditto. Use Shadow Sneak and give it all of your power." As soon as he finshed his order the shadow came within inches of the Ditto waiting for the right moment to strike.
OOC: As Ditto transformed everything but HP will be that of a level 31 Heracross including type when damage is calculated. Atropos uses Shadow Sneak.

Ditto was still apprehensive about this whole fighting thing, although it had to admit the form it had taken on seemed quite strong. And not only had it acquired Honeysuckle's form, but also the moves she knew, a rather impressive feat for something that could copy forms at just a mere glance. Not that Atropos, the incoming Pokemon, particularly cared for something that 'cheap'. Surely, as a Ghost-type, she was much more adept at illusions and trickery than some gelatinous blob masquerading as a Pokemon she had toyed with so long ago. This would be as easy now as it was back then, Atropos watching her transformed foe move in close to try out its new powers with cold, calculating blue eyes. Ditto moved with an effortless grace, its gaze sharp as it swung up with its horn at the off-coloured Shuppet, only to back off with a startled noise as it simply phased through her body.
Okay. So it definitely hadn't expected its first real move to be so... anti-climatic. Or scary, since Atropos reacted quickly and slid into the ground with her ghostly powers, extending her shadow out to reach for the opposing Ditto. It backed up even more before freezing in place, eyes glued to that horrible, awful darkness pooling at its feet while Atropos' laughter grew louder as she drank in that fear. But dawdle she couldn't, and the Shuppet launched herself out of the ground to slam herself bodily into the 'Heracross' standing above her. Ditto flinched, rocking from the blow, and seemed to try to throw itself right back at Atropos as she floated back towards March in a failed attempt to Counter the attack. Atropos couldn't contain a derisive cackle as she re-positioned herself, exuding a malevolent air that made Ditto want to go hiding back in the tall grass.

Honeysuckle switched out without any problems with Atropos and his plan worked perfectly as the transformed Ditto tried to use Chip Out on her. The move could not hit her shadowy form at all resulting in a complete waste of time and effort. Atropos's own attack was pretty successful causing moderate damage to it. Ditto could not even counter the move meaning Marchbaby's plan might just work again. It would still be tough to capture Ditto as they were very elusive but weakening it further would help make things a bit better. He could have Atropos burn it if all else failed but it would be a risky move and he would only do it if he had no choice.
" Good our plan keeps going along smoothly, Ditto is trying it's best given the situation but it has put itself in a really bad situation. I really do feel bad for it but we have to capture it. So long as Atropos does not do anything crazy things should be just fine." Atropos was just thrilled to be facing a helpless victim again so she could grow stronger. Every little increase in her power was going to bring her a step closer to evolving so her full potential would be realized. " I just love helpless victims, they squirm and they beg for mercy while I show none. I can feel the fear coming off of you realizing the horrible situation you have gotten yourself into is going to cost you dearly."
Marchbaby knew how quickly Atropos could fly off the handle so he kept a close eye on her. If he was not careful she would try and kill the poor Ditto and that was not his goal. " Atropos make sure you keep a level head, I do not need you going crazy here." Even with his warning she did not really pay attention to him as she was focused entirely on launching another attack on the Ditto. " I got it, I will not kill the damn thing. Damn you can be so annoying at times." She then changed into her shadowy form again as she headed towards the Ditto again. As she eaited for the perfect moment to strike Marchbaby gave her the order to attack even if it was nothing more than symbolic in nature as she was going to do it whether he gave the order or not. " Atropos use Shadow Sneak."
OOC: Atropos uses Shadow Sneak again. Like before Ditto has the stats of a level 31 Heracross except HP and it copies the type as well. Also note Counter cannot hit ghost types.

Now knowing the caliber of exactly what it was up against, Ditto's confidence was waning, if not almost close to being completely snuffed out. Even with its strong new form, anything it threw at the cackling, acid-tongued Shuppet seemed to simply go right through her, even though she looked rather solid in appearance. Atropos was easily picking up the fear her disguised foe was feeling, but perhaps if she focused hard, the ghost would feel waves of frustration just beneath. Ditto was not a worldly and wise Pokemon, and had little concept of Ghost-types in general, so its growing mix of confused anger was understandable. Its expression, to Marchbaby and Atropos, would reflect that inner turmoil as well as a Heracross' face could, golden eyes narrowing as it swept aside those feelings to tense itself in anticipation of Atropos' next strike.
The white Shuppet was waiting for this, having become one with the shadows once more whilst Ditto had been dealing with its small crisis, springing free as she read the change in her foe's body language. The attack did its work, and then some as Ditto reacted with a quickly stifled grunt of unmistakable fear. But as Atropos freed herself completely, Ditto lunged forwards again, trying the same move it had attempted last turn to the same failed outcome. Emitting a furious series of noises, the transformed Pokemon stomped its feet in a small tantrum much to Atropos' delight, as she very well knew that fear was the biggest driving factor to her target's behaviour. How could you fight what you couldn't actually touch?

The temper tantrum did not go unnoticed by Marchbaby as he watched the Ditto struggle with the reality of the situation. He remembered Honeysuckle going through the exact same problem long ago. It really was a shame to him that Ditto were such escape artists or else he would have tried to capture it in the last round. Even at it's current hp there was quite a good chance of Ditto escaping but the flip side of the coin was that it could be theoritically be knocked out in the next blow. It was quite a revelation as Marchbaby was hoping to do a bit more damage before attempting to capture it.
" I was hoping to avoid a problem like this but there is no escaping it now. We cannot risk doing any more damage. As much as I would like to risk it Ditto are not a common sight and I do not know when the next one will appear. We have to try and capture it." Atropos was still too busy messing with Ditto's mind to care at all about his plans. She was having so much fun tormenting the Ditto that she got ready to strike again until Marchbaby stepped out in front of her. He looked the ghost type right in the eye making it clear who the boss was. " Atropos I will not say this again, stand down and let me try to capture Ditto. You have done your fair share of the work." Atropos was not a fan of the idea but she reluctantly stood down as she waited to see what would happen next.
Marchbaby stepped forward ready to try and capture the elusive Pokemon so he could give it to a friend but it would be an uphill battle trying to convince Ditto to join him after being so sneaky with his Pokemon. Atropos could serve as bait if his capture attempt failed but he was hoping things would not come to that. He had a Repeat Ball in his hands ready to go. As he had obtained a Ditto a while back from one of his friends it would give the ball a greater chance of working. It was a far better chance than the other Balls he had but being night time his Dusk Balls were a good backup just in case. He took aim at Ditto and tossed his repeat ball at the disguised Pokemon ready to fight a trench battle to capture it if her had to.
OOC: March tosses a Repeat Ball. As he has obtained a Ditto before it will get the capture bonus.

Ditto was undeniably frustrated at this point. Nothing was working, no matter what angle it went for the shining white ghost. It wasn't like Atropos was hard to find in the dark. The floating sheet was practically a night light. Yet still Ditto's newly muscled fingers kept slipping right passed it; like trying to catch a balloon floating on the breeze. The transformed pokémon pounded a fist to palm, snorting loudly as it decided a different course of action. Though, its idea would have to wait as while Ditto had been pondering the trainer moved to intervene in the battle. A repeat ball whapped the fake heracross on the noggin with a soft bopping sound. Ditto cried with defiance as it was sucked into the device. The ball plopped to the ground and began rocking back and forth. The red light of the button rippled in the darkness of the route. One shake... The sound of the capture device grinding against the well trodden path rang through the air as silence gripped the scene. Two shakes. It was close now, yet the repeat ball was showing little signs of slowing down. Three shakes..! The ball cracked as it was forced open and the fake heracross was on the battlefield once again. Ditto huffed, pounding another muscled fist as it locked eyes onto its glowing target. This time it was going to make it for sure. Wasting no time, in hopes of catching the trained pokémon off guard, Ditto charged forward and went into an all out tackle. Horns aptly aimed forward as it threw itself through the air Ditto was finally going to catch that kleenex! Or so it had hoped. Atropos cackled as the attack once again just phased through his body. Ditto hit the ground and slid a couple feet, churning up a plume of dust as a result. Wild Pokemon Battle

Even though his first attempt to capture Ditto failed it did jot both Marchbaby too much as itncould not harm his Pokemon in any way. Ditto was quite a resilient Pokemon to refuse hisnfirst capture attempt as well as staying awake after 2 Shadow Sneaks bt he knew the damage Atropos had caused would get the normal type to give up at one point or another. As soon as luck was on his side thijgs would be grand as he could give it to his friend and be one step closer to being ready to face the next gym leader. As he looked at the Ditto he wished he would have had a better kind of Pokeball to increase his odds of capturing it
" It is a shame my current Pokeballs are not very good at capturing this Ditto and lady luck does not seemnto be on ourbside yet. Still she is known to be both kind and cruel sonwe must keep trying until she smiles upon us. Atropos you are doing great as bait so far. Maybe lady luck will see your determination next time and give us a break. Atropos did not really have an opinion on luck as this battle of being an untouchable barrier was so much fun for her. She could just sit back and watch Ditto waste it's life energy all day long unable to climb out of the deep hole it was in.
" You keep wasting your time on that and I will have endless fun with this idiot. I have a bit of a tip for our little pain, if it did not work the first two times what in Arceus's green earth made you think the third time would be the charm. You are in deep manure and by fighting back it will only get deeper for you." She said as she turned to face Marchbaby again. He had grabbed another Repeat Ball from his backpack ready to give it another try. Since he got them for free it was not a huge risk if they did not pay off. He still had another 3 in backup if this one failed but he was hoping the second time would be the one to seal the deal.
Marchbaby took aim at the Ditto again as he took position to throw another ball at the tricky Pokemon. " Let's hope things go our way this time. Go Repeat Ball capture that Ditto." He said as the ball headed towards the disguised Pokemon.
OOC: Tossing another Repeat Ball. Self updating the count.

The ditto beat its armored fists on the ground in a bit of a tantrum. It couldn't be that bad could it? No, there was something wrong with this form it'd shifted into. Something tricky that the trainer knew about. That was the reason it had sent out the distraction first. The disguised heracross lifted its head and glared darkly at the trainer. It didn't quite know what it was that was happening, but it was certainly some crafty business of the human. Ditto then took note of the second ball in March's hands. The wild pokémon huffed and made to stand quickly and get out of the way, but in its hurry it tripped over its own clumsy legs and fell onto its back with a squeal. The ball smacked onto its hardened belly and sucked the wild pokémon inside. The way the ball lashed back and forth it was clear Ditto's frustration was going to continue making this a hard capture. It was determined to continue putting up a fight against this humiliation. The ball shook, and shook again. The ground crackled underneath the device as it shifted to and fro, wringing the light patch of grass it sat upon. A third shake came. It showed absolutely no signs of slowing down. Another ball broke. Ditto appeared onto the battlefield and was ready to make a jump at its ghostly foe. Acting without hesitation the wild pokémon went at the shuppet, arms flailing away at the ethereal body. But, to Ditto's continued annoyance nothing happened; again. The transformed pokémon stamped its feet on the ground. Wild Pokemon Battle

As the Ditto broke out of another Repeat Ball Marchbaby started to grow worried. They were by far his most useful Pokeballs for capturing a Ditto and even they were having a very hard time. For a.normal type Pokemon Ditto sure was good at escaping from any capture attempt but Marchbaby could not give up. He still had a few Repeat Balls and a bunch of other balls to.try and capture the Ditto so not all his hope had been lost. It was still frustrating to know that he could not do much more to help the process as any other hit would likely knock Ditto out and he could not risk inflicting a burn stayus on it with Atropos's Will O Wisp.
Atropos was in far better spirits loving every second the mysterious Pokemon wasted in trying to cause her any damage. Though the actual capture attempts were not doing so well she had still avoided taking any damage while still serving as the team punching bag. The Ditto's own frustration was more than enough to make her day as she floated in front of it while mocking every attempt it made to hurt her knowing it was a fruitless effort as her kind were immune to every attack Ditto could muster. Though she did wish it would give up and allow itself to be captured soon she still could have more fun with it's psychological state as she stuck her tongue out at Ditto trying to make it lose focus. Anything that would give them a slight edge was welcomed by Marchbaby at this point.
" This Ditto sure does not want to give up, it is really getting annoying just how good it is at breaking out of our capture attempts with the greatest of ease. I would love to have Hypnosis about now just to help decrease it's ability to escape. Buring it is way to risky now and we cannot freeze or poison it. Even in the case of paralysis it's ability would prevent it from working. Our only choice is to keep hoping for good luck and hope 5 Repeat Balls is enough." As Atropos looked over at Marchbaby feeling his frustration she knew he was going to try and capture it again as hopeless as things seemed about now. She did not even say a word as he grabbed another Repeat Ball to.try his luck again hoping the third time would be the charm.
" Go Repeat Ball capture that Ditto."

Another ball was thrown, snapping against Heratto the disguised and capture resilient for a third time. That was the charm right? Any sort of cliché hope was worth clinging to as the wild pokémon disappeared with a flash of light and began thrashing against the repeat ball trying to stay closed and imprint the data of its new contents. The ball shook and whirled, the repeat ball doing its darndest to stay gyroscopically stable as it did its thing. Another round of shakes rattled the capture device... *CLICK* Success! The light on the device flashed red and the affirmative noise signaled Marchbaby's victory over the wild pokémon. It had been a long and hard fight, but the trainer now had another Ditto in his collection. After catching the elusive Ditto Marchbaby only needed to capture one more for a friend before he would be able to make his way back to New Bark Town. As hard as his first capture was he had no doubt that his team.could handle it one more time. He was not sure if he would have enough repeart balls by the end of it but as it was still nighttime his Dusk Balls could still serve as a backup if things did not go as planned. Before he could turn to congratulate his team on their first Ditto capture however he saw another one looking at him from a small patch of grass nearby.
" Luck must be on my side tonight, there is another Ditto right here. Minus the actual capture attempts our trick seems to work really well against them so I think we should stick to it this time as well. Honeysuckle take point in this battle." As the beetle stepped forward she waited for the normal type Pokemon to fall for the same trick as the other one had. As they waited Marchbaby turned to face Atropos to make sure she was ready the moment the Ditto transformed into Honeysuckle. As Atropos was the only one safe from her attacks she could not waste time once it transformed.
" Atropos make sure you are ready for another battle. You did great the first time but we do not want to give this Ditto a chance to capitalize on any mistakes either. Thisnis the last one we need for now and then we can finally head back to New Bark Town so I can try and find Kevin to check up on him." As he finished blabbering Atropos sighed before turning her attention to the battle. Her attacks worked great so far and she had every reason to believe they would work great once again. After a few moments passed it looked like the Ditto was going to transform and Atropos got ready to switch in.
" As soon as that dumb blob makes a mistake I will make sure it pays for it. They sure do make a great punching bag once they transform and their pathetic attempts to fight back only make it more enjoyable." She slowly sunk into the ground taking on a shadowy form as she ended her speech. Her sneaky nature made shadow sneak the perfect move to use on any of her foes not expecting trouble.
OOC: Requesting another Ditto, Sending out Honeysuckle and then swapping her out for Atropos who uses Shadow Sneak after Ditto transforms.

Startled, the Ditto jumped back and addressed its oppressor. Well, "jumped back" is a bit of an overstatement of the little slime's capabilities. Shall we say... slid back quickly? That might be better. I think that's better. Let's go with that. Once it had moved in reverse, the Normal type eyed up Marchbaby. Yes, this was indeed a human. The strange, destructive species usually had one thing on their mind. Battles. Ditto knew what was about to happen; it had seen it all too many times before. It gathered its mind as Marchbaby reached for his first Pokéball, releasing his Heracross into the battlefield. However, no longer had Honeysuckle appeared on the field than she was being called back, replaced by a strangely coloured Shuppet. Odd, thought Ditto. Very odd. But it didn't let Atropos's appearance confuse it for long. It studied its opponent for a moment, glowing brightly afterwards and changing shape very quickly indeed. Before long, the Ditto was no more, replaced by a cheap knock-off version of Atropos. The mimic Shuppet gave a weak cry, trying to scare its opponent. The pathetic noise wouldn't have spooked a fly though, really. Atropos's response to the "battle cry" was simple. Fight. She extended a dark shadow forward, guiding the black trail toward her opponent. In just a couple of seconds, the shadow seemingly burst out of the ground to smother Ditto. The now-Ghost typed Ditto reeled in pain, just barely maintaining consciousness in the face of a powerful, Super Effective hit. Then, from deep in the shadows, a series of blue flames emerged and pelted Atropos hard. The Will-o-Wisp continued to pester her until her grey form sported a strange burn of sorts. Do Ghosts get burned? How? Please tell me, because I'm thoroughly baffled by this. Someone. Help. Also have a battle screen. Wild Battle
Wild Ditto | Level 18 HP: 4% (2/50 HP) Status: Normal Ditto Transformed then used Will-o-Wisp! VS

Needed Honeysuckle to Counter first again, unless I'm missing a ruling somewhere.
Also, it's a regular Shuppet because I said so. So there. :D

Realizing his mistake too late there was nothing that could be done to undo it now but the good news was that Ditto was just about on it's last limb. This would mean that despite it's ability to fight back that it should be a bit easier to capture overall as unlike the last one this one had even less remaining health. He was not the luckiest guy alive and as such he had to be ready if his plans failed but for now capturing it remained at the top of his list of priorities if it could still be achieved reasonably.
" That was a big mistake on my part but it looks like for the most part anyways that things have still worked out. Though this Ditto will be able to fight back I am not too worried yet as Atropos does not know any really powerful moves for now so it should not be able to give us too much trouble even with my mistake. If it does give us too much trouble we can always try to find another one and make sure not to repeat this mistake again." He said as Atropos focused on the Ditto who managed to burn her with her own technique.
" This pest might have been able to burn me but even with that setback it is no match for me. Capture it if you can but otherwise I will not show it any mercy. I will be very pleased when we are done hunting these things so we can get back to trying to get ready for the next gym battle." She said as Marchbaby looked through his backpack for another Repeat Ball. He had used over half the ones he owned on the last Ditto and hoped his luck would be a bit better this time around as he finally located the last two he had. He grabbed one with his right hand and held it with a firm grip.
He watched the Ditto for just a moment waiting for a good moment to toss the ball knowing that he did not have many good opportunities left to capture it. With that in mind he had to make this attempt count so he could try and save his last Repeat Ball for a rainy day. As the Ditto got ready to make a move he tossed the ball hoping that his luck would pay out after the rough ride he had with the last Ditto.
OOC: Marchbaby tosses a Repeat Ball. I really derped up in the last post.

The fakey, not real ghost watched Marchbaby with a recognising, knowing look on its face. It wasn't at all happy to see the Repeat Ball expanding in the trainer's hand. As the orb left March's clutches, Ditto turned about and tried to run away, temporarily forgetting that it no longer possessed anything that could be seen as "legs". Regardless of all this, its fleeing would be entirely pointless as the ball made contact with its body. It snapped open to trap Ditto before closing back up and falling to the ground. It started to writhe around furiously as the captured slime tried to uncapture itself. Squirming and rocking, the sphere continued to refuse to open back up. After a while of this fighting, Ditto seemed to give up as the ball ceased moving.
Congratulations! Ditto has been caught! Honeysuckle earned 450 EXP and +1 Happiness (up to +4)! Atropos got herself 450 EXP and +1 Happiness (up to +12)!
