Whoops, I seem to have missed my text colour last time around... Blame... anything but me. ^^;
Marshall was astounded as the valve actually came away from its moorings. The young lad stumbled backwards in surprise, dropping the wheel just a couple of inches away from his foot. Had he really just done that? It took a few moments to register, but once it had he started to grin in a way that almost made him look deranged. Being able to destroy things like this felt quite good, it would seem. He stood there for a while and basked in the feeling of power that had just come across him. He'd completely forgotten that he had company in this short period of time, and Aphrodite's sudden interruption shocked him. He jumped away briefly before realising who was speaking.
"Um... yeah, I hope so too," Marshall started, a little unsure of exactly what to respond with. It certainly would be a nuisance if someone came after him for this, but at the same time he felt like he was able to beat anyone now. Perhaps it'd endear Aphrodite to him a little more if he could show that to her, actually. That might be nice. But regardless, there was no point in staying here. "Yeah, let's get moving, I guess. We're not gonna solve anything by staying, right?" Marshall could've sworn he heard something as he was finishing this sentence. Some kind of noise, though exactly what it was was hard to tell from here. It was distant and the sound of the water combined with the pair's voices had covered it quite nicely. He followed Aphrodite down to the river, wondering what to do next.
"So, um, I guess you've got a plan then, Aph?" he asked, contemplating starting some form of conversation as they walked. However, he soon found that he had no idea what he should be saying here. He was best served talking about himself, but they'd done that already. This whole "making friends" thing was harder than he'd remembered.
(Not sure if we need a mod here... I've left it open ended for now since we can kind of amble along to Quag. Mid might have done us a favour by not pushing us to him. :P)

Fleeing the scene of their crime the duo scampered back down the road toward Blue Moon Falls, following the lower trail this time so as to check the river flow. While the bit of property damage would likely be noticed by someone at some point it would be a small price to pay if they spied the sludge from the flowing waters diminishing. And so it was. With the flow ceased from the plant the clean water upstream was beginning to trickle its way through the muck, beginning to leave thin veins of unpolluted undercurrents through the water. It would take a while for the banks and life surrounding the river to freshen up of course but all in due time. Hopefully they had caught it before it did any harsh damage to the wild life. Though, as the pair continued their trek down the path a cry could be heard. It was an echoing moan, pained and calling for help. It rang out a few times giving the eco-trainers a good estimate of where it was coming from: Blue Moon Falls. The irresistible shout tickled their spines. How could they possibly ignore it? As if taken by a force not wholly their own the pair found themselves racing down the trail to spy the illustrious water fall; and a horrible purple build up of sludge. The pool of water well known as the home to Cherrygrove's favorite gentle giant smelt like a bog. Thick and putrid fumes radiated from the sludge, and in the middle of it all was the soft blue form of a Quagsire. It called out for help again, the pitiful noise begging for aid. In its flippers it held a partially eaten apple as if its life depended on it, a discoloration ebbing on its skin hinting toward a poisoned status. But the trainers were not the only things that responded to the quagsire's cry. Up from the gunk rose two murky figures. The duo would likely recognize the poison pokémon from all the banter in town: Grimer. Item in Stock: Rage Candy Bar x1 Raina | LV 10 | Torrent | Mystic Water Waiting for Orders! The duo had managed to flee away from the scene before anyone else had managed to notice them, not that there were anyone else around at moment. Still, it was definitely a good feeling to know that they did not have to worry about being caught at this point. Aphrodite and Marshall continued travel further down the path leading towards the flowing water. While traveling down the path, Aphrodite's keen eyes soon picked up the sound of an echoing moan ringing through her ears. Aphrodite felt her body becoming frozen as the pain cry continued to echo though her ears. She slowly extended her hand out to stop Marshall in his steps, if he had not done so already from hearing the cry for help. "Please tell me that you're hearing that, too." She spoke glancing over at the male. "We have to found out where that noise is coming from right now. Someone could be in trouble." She added before rushing off into the direction echoing cry. The echoing cry had indeed led the duo towards Blue Moon Falls. The treasured waterfall located in Cherrygrove City that thousands of tourist would come to admire. However, the Blue Moon Falls definitely did not seem like a main attraction at this time. In fact, it was borderline being a nightmare. A soft gasp escaped from Aphrodite's lips as her warm, amber eyes locked onto the ill Quagsire floating in the middle of the polluted water. Shortly after noticing the suffering Quagsire, Aphrodite's eyes swiftly shifted towards two Wild Pokemon. Two creepy and smelly Pokemon as a matter of fact. "Those Grimer must have caused all of this. We have to put a stop to them and save that poor Quagsire." Aphrodite stated as she retrieved a Poke Ball from her bag. "Raina, let's go!" She called out releasing her cute Popplio. "Raina, use Water Gun!" The golden-haired trainer commanded her Pokemon. The beautiful water pendant hanging from Raina's neck started to glow a radiant ocean blue hue as her water-type attacks became boosted thanks to the Mystic Water. Raina exhaled a deep breath then inhaled from her nose, shooting two powerful blasts of water towards the Grimer closer to her. Raina used Water Gun x2 on the Grimer closest to her. Running shoes are now exhausted.

(Would like to formally apologise for asking Lam - well, any mod really - to drag things toward Quagsire because I didn't want to muck with word counts.)
As soon as Marshall heard the cry, he stopped in his tracks. A damsel in distress? It could've been, but it didn't sound very human. Marshall was certain he'd heard that noise before... but where on earth was it from? He cursed his memory as he continued to wrack his brain. Beside him, Aphrodite appeared to catch on to the pained moan too. In a matter of seconds, Marshall was being stopped by a hand. He didn't need to hear what Aphrodite was about to say, as he was thinking the same thing himself. Even if this wasn't a human, was it really right for a self-proclaimed 'hero' to turn down this kind of cry for help? Not to mention the fact that he could lead this unfortunate soul back to its trainer, if it had one. Then, of course, there was the whole idea of 'keeping up appearances' as the 'nice guy' here. No matter how he looked at it, Marshall knew what he had to do.
'Yeah, I heard it. So much for a "plan" then; let's get moving, Aph!' he replied, adrenaline starting to flow through his body as he psyched himself up for this rescue mission. This feeling was quite nice, if he was honest with himself. He wasn't in the trainer business to help people, but he could perhaps get used to this. Well, that's how he felt at this instant - in the heat of the moment. He didn't have any time to think over this, though, with his partner now leaving him in her tracks and running toward the voice. Marshall sighed. Running. Didn't she recognise that he wasn't an athlete? He sucked his chest inward and did his best to catch up with Aphrodite, immediately regretting almost everything that he had done up until this point.
The pair eventually found themselves approaching Blue Moon Falls, a part of Cherrygrove's outskirts that Marshall had never seen before. He was quite certain that it'd usually be quite the breathtaking sight to look at, but right now he had no breath to be taken from him. Even if he did, the horrid stench emanating from the place would have overwritten anything else. Marshall panted heavily, appearing beside Aphrodite. While he tried to gather himself enough to start speaking again, he continued to gaze across the place in search of the creature in peril. It wasn't long before he realised exactly where he was. This had to be the source of the pollution, right? With all of the horrid, foul-smelling sludge around, it was hard to come to any other conclusions. In the centre of this lie a familiar-looking creature. Marshall knew he'd seen this before... but... where? Then it hit him. It was the weird-looking Pokémon that had handed him those presents before. The young trainer scanned it with his new Pokédex, which was becoming quite the habit for him now.
'Quag... sire...' he said between huffs and puffs as he tried to recover his breath as soon as possible. He ripped out a Pokéball from his belt, releasing his trusted Mankey into the fray. 'Alright Hans...! Let's...!' he started before realising exactly how bad his own situation was. He stood for a couple of seconds, practicing as many breathing exercises as he had cared to learn over his 18 years of life, then tried once again. 'OK Hans... let's help this... guy out!' It wasn't perfect by any means, but he could at least make himself heard this time. The Mankey looked back at his trainer with mild concern in his eyes. Marshall gave his partner a nod as if to try and say "I'm fine", which the Mankey seemed to acknowledge. Marshall then took a moment to consider his options.
'Focus Energy... into a Karate Chop, pal! Hit.. the Grimer... Raina's not hitting!' Hans nodded, his heart skipping a beat as he began to realise what was happening. Battle time. Yay. The Mankey started to concentrate as best he could, preparing for the long match ahead.

Quagsire was not feeling very well as Grimer began making their way towards it. The polluted water was very hazardous to its well being as it was but the Grimer made its situation worse. Quagsire was in no shape to fend them off but thankfully for its sake Aphrodite and Marshall had arrived to save the day. The water was too polluted to stop the Grimer from advancing towards Quagsire but their Pokemon could still attack the poison types from a distance. Hans made the first move as he entered a state of deep focus and a few seconds later Raina fired a Water gun at the Grimer closest to her. Things seemed to be going well until the Grimer began firing their Mud Slap attack causing some damage to Quagsire. As soon as their bombardment stopped the polluted water started to sap Quagsire's energy before it could take a bite of its Leftovers to restore some HP. The next round started right as Quagsire swallowed and Hans unleased a CRITICAL HIT with a Karate Chop right between the Grimer's eyes. It was not enough to get the poison type to back off however it left quite s painful mark. Raina followed scoring another direct hit on the Grimer closest to her. Quagsire tried to celebrate only to see a second wave of Mud Slap headed its way. After the poisonous water drained Quagsire even closer to its end more bad news arrived as a second pair of Grimer joined in the frey. Quagsire nervously took a bit of its Leftovers as the second round came to a close. With the first two Grimers now right in its face it did not have a lot of breathing room. Unless Marshall and Aphrodite did something soon the Grimer would be able to unleash their move powerful Pound attack next time around. A frown of disgust was quickly expressed on Aphrodite's fair face as she watched the two Poison-types attack the suffering, blue giant. "Stop it! Why are you attacking that poor Quagsire? Can't you tell that it is sick?" She shouted at the Grimer. Of course, the two Grimer would not pay her any attention. Heck, the Grimer was clearly the ones to be blamed for the current condition of the Quagsire and the lake. Aphrodite's warm amber eyes soon glanced away from Grimer and turned towards her partner. Marshall had sent out his Pokemon and as expected it was a fight-type. A soft smile touched her lips as she nodded at the Mankey. The golden-haired beauty would be able to see her partner's potential battling style. Marshall did not waste any time with commanding his Pokemon to use an attack and Raina soon followed in pursuit with her own attacks. Raina's power boosted Water Gun appeared to have inflicted a decent amount of damage onto her opponent. At this point, Aphrodite was confident that one more Water Gun attack just may be able to finish off her Popplio's opponent. Raina glanced back at her trainer and greeted her with a soft bark. Aphrodite smiled and shook her head. "I'm sorry Raina, but I can't let you go out there in that water. It would be too risky." She stated in a soft tone. Raina knew that she would have a better advantage moving in the water. However, her trainer did not want to take a chance on her becoming poisoned like the Quagsire. Raina let out another stop bark, this time she seem to have been attempting to warn her trainer about something or someone. Aphrodite swirly glanced into the direction of where her Popplio was staring. "This doesn't look good. If those two decide to join the others then we're going to be outnumbered!" She pointed out, biting down into her bottom lip. "Well, I guess we will just have to make quick work out of these two. Raina use Water Gun again!" She commanded the sea lion-like Pokemon. Note: Raina used Water Gun on the same target as before!

(Finally getting to this, sorry for the wait. Genuinely enjoying the hell out of this! ^^; )
The Grimer were thoroughly unrelenting, pelting Quagsire with their Pounds even while Hans and Raina attacked. Marshall couldn't help but feel like they'd been lucky here; this would be an easy battle for them, right? Sure, Quagsire probably was feeling a little rough right now, but as long as it didn't faint then everything was fine. He didn't dare look over at Aphrodite though; her voice said everything. She was incredibly unimpressed with the Grimer and their actions. Well, at least she was as into the match as he was. Marshall recovered his breath from before and started to think over his strategy. However, as he plotted his next Karate Chop, something unwelcome appeared in the distance.
'Are those... more Grimer?' he asked to no-one in particular. As the purple blobs advanced, it became clear that they were indeed Grimer. Marshall bit his lip in concern. Just how many of these things were there? Hans was strong, sure, but how many of these could he take on? More to the point, where were they going? Were they going to fight Marshall and Aphrodite? Fortunately, at least that much would be answered quite quickly as they progressed toward the big Water type. Marshall breathed a sigh of mild relief, but he knew that this wasn't going to be easy anyway. Poison was a hard type for him to beat. In fact, wasn't it also good against Fairies? Not a good sign. Well, perhaps. Marshall didn't know what this "Popplio" thing was, in all honesty. Could've been a Fairy, could've just been a Water type. Regardless, the match needed to end as soon as possible. Marshall called out to his Mankey for the second round of action.
'Alright, Hans, let's have another Karate Chop! Same target again, pal!' He then turned to Aphrodite with a forced smile on his face, giving her a thumbs up in reassurance. 'Don't worry, Aph, we're gonna win this for sure! Quagsire just needs to hold tight, that's all.' That was probably good enough. Probably. Marshall felt quite proud of himself there, really. A good reassuring comment, if he did say so himself.
Words will be added to incubator once I check the count.

Aphrodite's pleas fell on willfully deaf ears (if the Grimer even had ears), the Poison-types beyond reasoning with. With how disgustingly filthy the water had become, they weren't ready to give up their home, and to them Quagsire's presence was the only thing keeping them from claiming Blue Moon Falls and its connected waterways. Keeping the young Popplio out of the polluted water was a wise move, the filth only growing worse as sludge ebbed off the gooey bodies of the advancing horde of Grimer. Quagsire let out a mournful sound, whether it was from the situation at hand or otherwise yet unknown, fearfully clutching its apple core closer to itself. Perhaps with trainers on its side, things would change for the better, if it could hold out long enough for the Grimer to be dealt with.
Hans obeyed with due haste, the simian hustling out to the shore to strike at the Grimer he'd attacked before. Slamming the side of his paw into the Poison-type, he grunted in satisfaction at the flailing reaction this received. It wasn't a critical hit, but there was little the Mankey could do about that for now, and Hans retreated back a few steps in time to watch Raina make her move. A graceful jet of water soared through the air over the head of the groaning Grimer up front, scoring a hit on the side of the other one's face. With a feeble groan the Poison-type slipped beneath the water, a successful KO that lifted Quagsire's spirits as it realized there was one less enemy.
But this feeling wouldn't last long, as the remaining Grimer had finally come in close enough to get physical. Raising its arm, it gave Quagsire a painful whack on the arm with a Pound attack, drawing a pained cry from the Water-type. Combined with another shiver of agony brought on by its poisoned status, things weren't very peachy-keen for the normally doleful Pokemon. Lifting its Leftovers up with shaky fins, Quagsire nibbled at the apple remnant and watched through glassy eyes as the other two Grimer moved slowly, inexorably closer.

A smile of satisfaction touched Aphrodite's lips as she watched Raina's powered up Water Gun finish off one of the Grimer. "Good job Raina, that's one less Grimer to worry about for now." She spoke to her Pokemon, giving her a quick thumbs up. The cute little sea lion Pokemon let out a cheerful bark as she clapped her fins together a few times. "Now, it's time to focus on the battle. We can't allow ourselves to get too sidetracked, Especially, since we still have three more Grimer to take out." Aphrodite pointed out as she locked eyes with the remaining three Grimer. Marshall and his Mankey still seem to have been handling themselves pretty well against their opponent and the other two Grimer slowly started to make their way over towards the gentle blue giant a little closer. "Let's help take out that Grimer, Raina. Water Gun!" Aphrodite commanded her Pokemon. Once again, the beautiful water pendant resting around Raina's neck started to glow against as she released another Water Gun, this time aiming it at the Grimer that Hans was fighting against. Hopefully, the boosted up water move would be enough to knock out the opponent, If not, then maybe it would be enough damage inflicted on its body, so that Hans could take it out his next turn without too much of trouble. While Raina and Hans focused on the remaining Grimer on the battlefield. Aphrodite decided to attempt to distract the other two Grimer, who continued to move a little closer towards the Grimer. The golden-haired beauty quickly picked up a couple of rocks and tossed them into the direction of the Grimer, she was careful not to hit the Quagsire. The rocks probably wouldn't do anything to the Grimer, but she hoped that it would at least stop them in their tracks for a little bit. Note: Raina used Water Gun on the same target as before! Also! Sorry for the long wait!
