Odayakama Senshi had arrived in New Bark Town to which her dismay, was flooded for the most part. It wasn't raining anymore but it wasn't good either. 'Should I stop by the lab or just hurry and begin my journey? Professor Oak already gave me everything I need so...' The girl had approached the small town looking to see not many places were open. She made up her mind and decided to first look in the wilderness for a Pokemon and then return to the town and present her Pokemon to the professor and say hello. Grasping at her utility belt, she puleed off a red and white spherical container known a the Pokeball. This contained her companion and first ever Pokemon Charmander.
Seeing she was from the Kanto region, this was of course something rather common. "Charmander. Come on out." Dropping the ball onto the floor, a white flash had occurred as a flaming lizard had appeared. Looking at the watery environment, it looked...concerned and turned to Senshi. "I know that this doesn't look so good, but I promise you will be alright. I was thinking we start our journey and go catch some friends for you to spend time with yeah?" She gave a reassuring smile as well as a look that looked...apologetic for the circumstances that Charmander was called out on. The lizard looked a bit nervous but nodded slowly as it held it's tail between it's chest.
They walked together side by side as her orange sneakers were soaked in water. She hated that feeling. They went towards the wilderness or rather the grass to see if they could find some wild life to bring into the fold. If not, she could probably get some experience battling Pokemon in this time frame. Charmander was a fascinating pokemon and a comfort to have around, far better than being alone. As they entered the grassy route, she kept her eyes peeled for a pokemon to engage in battle. She had a few pokeballs and she was ready to get started on her adventures as well as getting her pokemon stronger. "Remember Charmander, you have to be careful seeing it's incredibly wet. I won't ask you to battle for me after we catch a friend. After we catch one, we'll head for the professor's lab and get some rest." the lizard nodded and responded with a "Char." Thus they would begin their search. She was excited and wondering what kind of wonders she might find in the wild of this humble town.
The weather was most likely making most pokemon hide in their dens so she didn't expect to find much. However, she would be grateful for anything the two trainers could find. She would probably capture the first pokemon she could find and then allow Charmander haven from this hazardous weather. What kind of pokemon would she find first she wondered. Bird? Bug? Normal? She didn't really care too much as she just wanted to see some action. She would finally get to experience Pokemon battles rather than watching them from a distance. That was what was extremely thrilling about the situation. The thirteen year old Senshi wondered if Charmander felt that excitement also. She would soon find out.

The weather wasn't the best for anyone, let alone a new trainer with only a Charmander by her side. Senshi and her partner waded through the waterlogged landscape, with Charmander probably wishing she was just about anywhere else. However, she clearly trusted her trainer so she followed Senshi's lead. The poor conditions meant that most Pokémon had retreated into their homes, just as one would expect, but there were a few creatures out and about. After all, some 'mon had to eat, right? Besides, there were many birds in the area. Birds who cared little for the ground's current state. One such avian, a ravenous Pidgey, hopped across the branches above Senshi and Charmander. Ravenous was perhaps an understatement. It pecked greedily at every berry and Bug type that it could find, eating a meal's worth of grub in just a few minutes. As it tried to grab one such berry, however, it slipped on the still-wet branch below it and fell to the floor. With a large splash, it suddenly appeared in front of Senshi and her partner. After a couple of seconds, the bird righted itself and rubbed its head. It looked hurt, but not likely to be an easy opponent despite that uncomfortable landing. It scanned the area and quickly noticed Senshi, standing to attention. A battle, eh? Well. If it had to.
A wild Pidgey (Level 5) appeared! Will Warrior-chan fight or flee? see what i did there arent i great pls love me ppl

It had been around five minutes of searching and it seemed that the girl was truly fortunate. There had been the snap of a branch and soon an avian creature had fallen, a pidgey. It was one of the most common Pokémon but as her first Pokémon encountered in the wild, she would catch it. As the bird stood to attention, she had pointed her finger to the creature. "Charmander. I need you now to fight for me.” The lizard seemed a bit nervous about the current and sudden encounter, but stood at attention upon being called. “Use scratch on the Pidgey now!” She had commanded Charmander as this was her first battle she would experience for her own. She was excited and was eager for battle seeing she was looking to make her own team of pokemon. Her Charmander would proceed to rush at the wild pidgey before leaping and aiming to scratch Pidgey twice across its body. In the meantime, Odayakama Senshi reached for the blank pokeball that stood along the second hook of her utility belt. Pressing the center of this tiny ball, it had grown to full size and was ready to be thrown. She would wait for the right moment to capture this bird. Although she wanted to see how this battle was going to progress seeing she enjoyed watching Pokémon battles, she also wanted to see how competent Charmander was in battle. After this battle, she knew that she would take her new pidgey and her Charmander to the professor and perhaps wait out the rain. With a pidgey in her arsenal, she would be able to not only have more pokemon, but have a new type to easier catch other types of pokemon. She dreamed of making all the pokemon she possessed be incredibly powerful. After all, nobody was going to be famous if they only ran around with minor pokemon like pidgeys or ratatas. She was going to make her Charmander and even this pidgey here into respectable and strong pokemon on their adventures. Other than that, she was going to make sure to diversify her parties as much as possible. Now...to see what this pidgey in front of her was going to do. Hopefully Charmander could take it by surprise and make the battle a bit easier. Also...hopefully there weren't more wild pidgey that were going to guard this one. Thanks for the post! :0

The Pidgey eyed the new trainer and her Pokemon warily, fluttering its wings. The flooding in the area didn't just affect the ground, and its wings were soaked through, its flight feathers opaque and heavy like lead. It didn't have a chance of getting into the air unless it could get its wings dried off. The bird twitched its wings again, stretching out the feathers and fluttering them as the Charmander stepped forward. The Pidgey knew it had a type disadvantage, but it could only hope that the deluge of water would dampen its opponent's strength. The flying-type also knew they were very close to where the trainers started out, so its opponent likely wasn't even very strong. The Charmander likely didn't even know Ember; not that it would be a boon, as the water would lessen its usefulness. Odayakami ordered the Charmander to Scratch, and the fire-type charged forward, slashing its sharp claws in the air in preparation for a hit. The Pidgey attempted to fly out of the way, but its water-logged feathers slowed it down and Charmander slammed into it full-tilt, claws slashing across its breast. The Pidgey tumbled backwards, recovering from the critical hit, before flapping its wings and kicking up sand with its talons. As the charmander rushed forward aiming it's claws for a slash, the bird attempted to fly out of range only to be hit anyway due to its inability to fly. The pidgey cried out in pain as it tumbled back a bit however, it quickly recovered. "Excellent job Charmander. Now keep yourself sharp." As it turned out, the Pidgey had suddenly kicked muddy sand into her chamrander's face. It cried out in surprise as it was blinded and then furiously rubbed it's eyes to clear it's vision. Charmander had stepped backwards, but had then slowly removed her claws to reveal the eyes were clear. Charmander stood at full attention and looked rather unhappy as the Pidgey looked decently weakened. "Now is the time Charmander. Rest easy." She tossed her pokeball with her left hand with a spiral, straight for the head of the avian Pokémon in a hope to capture it. The ball would contact and would suck the Pidgey within its depths as she awaited the capture. Assuming that the Pidgey busted out of the ball, Charmander was still ready for combat. She needed to make sure to get Charmander out of the watery environment and use the Pidgey. She was eager to develop her team and grow them to their maximum potential. For now she was going to do this relatively slowly part by part. Assuming she had caught her pokemon, she would slowly approach and pick up her new orb before slowly holding it in her hand. "Thank you Charmander. I appreciate all of your help in this endeavor. You deserve a little rest until the weather clears up. I'll call you if I need you." She would hold out the first pokeball before a red beam would aim to hit her orangish lizard friend. "Return." Thus she would release her newly captured pidgey from it's pokeball. "Come forth! Pidgey!" She would want to see how it would react to her upon being captured. Hopefully it wasn't too hurt as they still had other things to do. Well...she would head back to the lab to see the professor first before returning and looking to capture a third pokemon for her party. Either that or perhaps she would find a nice pokemon to do some training against with her new Pidgey. She knew that a Pokemon wasn't going to get any stronger just from sitting around. Although she then realized that she had items known as potions. There would be no need to head back to the lab just yet. "Please excuse the rough way that I had captured you. Allow me to help you with that." She had reached into her backpack to pull out a small purple container much like a spray bottle of window cleaner before kneeling. "Let's get that wound fixed up my new friend. I apologize for hurting you so." Assuming the pidgey allowed it, She would spray it with her potion to allow it to recover from the scratch wound it had received. "I know that it's a bit odd but I am hoping you can help me capture another pokemon or two. Please?" She would await a response from her bird to see how it would react. Assuming it had no problems, she would continue the search for wild pokemon. Not really using a potion. Just a way for the Pidgey to heal for the next encounter.

Note: Have made the assumption that Senshi's name follows traditional Japanese structure, and as such am using "Senshi" as her "first name", so to speak. Please correct me if I am being too smart for my own good again. :PThe Pidgey had little time to contemplate any kind of evasive manoeuvre before the ball collided with its forehead, trapping it in an instant and falling to the ground. The ball wriggled once, and its contents began to muse on the human and its intentions. Pidgey didn't like this human's face. It looked like the kind of human that would try to eat Pokémon. Particularly Pidgey. The human had that kind of expression that said "I want to deep fry you and sell you at a chain restaurant that is clearly ripping off something from another world line". This was quite intimidating. Pidgey didn't like the idea of being served in batter. The premonition it had of gracing a cardboard bucket was equally unappealing. It didn't like this at all. The ball it was in moved about furiously before cracking back open to reveal a very angry-looking Pidgey. It was time to make this human pay for wishing such ill on its kind. It immediately kicked up a storm, picking up sand and dirt from the ground and propelling it toward Senshi and her Charmander. The little fire lizard coughed and spluttered as the sand got everywhere; in its eyes, in its mouth, between its fingers, everywhere. Pidgey admired its work and chirped triumphantly. "That'll teach you to try and cook me", it thought. Wild battle

The Pidgey had burst free from it's pokeball showing that it was more resilient than what the redheaded girl had first thought. The bird looked rather angry and Charmander looked rather surprised with her mouth wide open agape in a look of surprise. "It seems that you're stronger than I first thought. Let's try this again then. As a rookie trainer, she still had to learn a lot about battling and capturing pokemon. She wasted her first ball but that was alright seeing she would make sure not to waste another. The bird had kicked sand and dirt at both Charmander and Senshi and the first thought she had was...she hated sand. She hated wet sand especially. It got everywhere in your clothes but she was more concerned about Charmander.
It was also at this moment that Senshi wondered if sand attack was the only move that Pidgey had known. "I'm not finished here. Charmander! Let's go ahead and greet our bird friend with another scratch if it's going to greet us with more sand!" The Charmander was not quite happy at the moment as it had taken a mouthful of sand and thus it would leap with infuriated fury to launch another scratch, but this time right for the pidgey's face. It would attempt to swipe down and drag its sharp claw downwards, effectively injuring the bird and getting it closer to the point where it could be captured.

Pidgey was not having fun. It was incredibly put off by this human and her face. It couldn't shake that ominous feeling that something would happen to it if it were caught. Something bad. There was a look in the girl's eyes that it didn't like, but it couldn't place it. Maybe its earlier instinct was right. But then again, perhaps not. Who had ever heard of humans eating Pidgey, anyway? It blinked a couple of times, its mental cogs whirring while its face blankened. Charmander watched carefully. She wasn't going to barge in while the Pidgey was busy planning. If Pidgey even planned, that was. She wasn't going to take that chance. She waited until the Pidgey brightened up and flapped its wings, ready to continue, before striking herself. Charmander took a couple of steps into the bog-like landscape, quickly recalling how much she hated the current situation and recoiling slightly. With one large, audible gulp, the Fire lizard charged forward, her hand drawn back as she splashed across the ground. Pidgey was surprised at how easily the opponent was able to see after its Sand Attacks, eyes peeled wide open in shock. Its feet froze as it tried to get away, which left it in the prime position for a Scratch across the face. Ow. Much pain. Pidgey winced, its beautiful features now ruined with a clear gouge on them. That was it. No-one messed with that lady-killing visage. No more games. No more nice Pidgey. Who cared if it got into trouble? It was time for payback. It took flight, glaring at Senshi's little companion with an unmatched fury. It gained a few feet in height before diving straight into Charmander's skull, causing the little one to teeter a little on her feet. Luckily, she didn't topple into the water. Fortunately. The scratch to the enemy pidgey was an absolute success although it seemed that the bird was now able to fly in the air yet again. This was most troubling. "This pidgey is stronger than I first thought it was." Odayakama Senshi witnessed the avian fly up and her Charmander was considering stepping backwards but realized it might trip in the bog that was the water. The bird then flew and aimed to slam it's head down on Charmander as her feminine lizard cried out, almost tripping. "Charmander. Let's try to finish this up as fast as we can! Grab it's leg and then use scratch on the Pidgey once more!" She couldn't wait for the day her Charmander would be able to use Ember seeing that could be useful for more than just Pokémon battles. The Charmander having just recently received a wound would growl and then attempt to grab the bird's right leg before leaping and slashing it's sharp claw down on Pidgey's chest again. She was close to winning the battle she knew. It was a good battle experience and it sort of opened her horizons.
She then realized in this kind of weather, she could probably faint the pidgey and capture it just fine without any of its relatives or such coming to protect it. She was going to battle until the bird could no longer. Afterwards, she would use her Pokeball to capture the Pidgey and add it to her party. She didn't know what the Pidgey was thinking in its head at the moment, but Odayakama Senshi didn't care so much at the moment. She was sure the Pidgey wouldn't be able to take much more punishment from Charmander and then the bird would be hers to keep. The battle was heavily interesting and despite having sand all over her clothes, the redhead was smiling. "You've almost won this fight Charmander! Try your best to finish the Pidgey!" Seeing her other Pokeball she used was broken, she had one less ball to capture a Pokémon. However, she took out a new orb nontheless and prepared for the battle to reach the climax. She was hoping Charmander wasn't too impeded to battle. She needed to get her partner put of the water as soon as possible and get her some healing and a nice nutritious meal sometime. Also...the same goes for the pidgey she wanted to capture.

Sand still stinging her eyes Charmander squinted ahead of her where she could still here the little tan bird flapping away in order to remain above the puddles of water saturating the ground. Oh how she'd love to bring that defiant chicken into the mud and let the wild pokémon share in the fiery lizard's disgust of the terrain. Senshi's command rang in her ears clear as day. There was no hesitation. With her opponent still hovering right there in arm's reach Charmander stretched out her claws and flailed. It wasn't particularly difficult to do in theory, but there was the disadvantage of basically having one's eyes closed. To the fire type's dismay she only seemed to be able to catch the air being pushed away by Pidgey's wing beats. The avian had managed to scale higher in order to avoid the dangerous claws, and once Charmander seemed to realize this and stop wasting energy hitting nothing it was it's turn to act. With a determined cry the wild pokémon's screech pierced the air like a tiny bird of prey. It dove down and bashed into Charmander's head. The poor starter was thrown down despite rushed efforts to prevent it. Muddy water splashed around Charmander and an angry hiss of fire raged against the watery elements. Needless to say the fire type was quick to get to her knees at the very least, getting to stand taking a bit more effort. The Pidgey was tough, that was for sure but her Charmander was a determined Pokémon eager to prove itself to her master. Charmander rushed forward but it seems the sand has taken its toll, blinding the Charmander essentially. The pidgey seemed able to fly again, but it quickly descended to slam it's skull down on Charmander's head. The lizard fell onto the cold, muddy, and wet ground and now she was susceptible to the elements. "Charmander! Are you alright?!" Senshi was more than aware that charmanders were not to be in the rain, and this weather especially. She was being irresponsible and was putting her Pokémon in danger. Enough was enough.
"Go! Pokeball!" She tossed her red and white orb for the second time to catch this wounded Pidgey. She needed to get her Pokémon to the professor immediately after this endeavor. The orb would contact the Pidgey whilst midair before it would drop to the ground, beginning it's rotation as it was a tense moment. Would Pidgey be captured? Or would Senshi be forced to retreat with her Charmander. Odayakama Senshi looked with a calculating stare of anxiousness, and she would wait for the result. Assuming Pidgey was captured, she sighed in relief before looking to her Charmander. "Return Charmander. I need to get you help immediately." The Charmander would be zapped and sent back into its pocket dimension ball before Senshi would retrieve her new Pidgey. She would belt the ball on her utility belt before running as fast as she could in this weather to the professor go get her Pokémon cared for. She would get both of her Pokémon taken care of and healed before releasing her new found Pidgey. "Excuse me professor, but would you kind judging my pidgey and telling me about it compared to other pidgey once we help treat it? I think this one has more bite than most other Pidgey. Looks bigger than most I've seen too." She wanted to see how her Pidgey would behave now that it was captured. "Why hello there Pidgey. Are you alright?"

Howdy, Dandead10! I'm really glad to see you keep coming back to play on the forums. I hope you've been enjoying your stay! I do have a couple of things to talk to you about though, before we can continue forward. <3
'Godmodding' is something that we don't allow here on ZapdosZulu. Generally, this is treated with the exact OPPOSITE of what you'd like to happen, but since you're new i'm definitely not going to do that to you. Having your Pokemon in your post inflict damage or have an absolute hit on a Pokemon (you've done this a few posts back) isn't allowed. Mods generally roll for hits or misses, and then do damage from there. Kinda takes away from the excitement otherwise! Plus, you gotta leave us some room to do some cool battle scenes with your Pokemon. Try not to Pidgeonhole us into one particular thing. :)
Second!
Catching Pokemon! So, Pokemon are captured on an RNG system based on how much damage you've done + turns + type of ball you're using. As levels increase, the harder it is to catch things. Now, while it's probably a catch for you, you have to wait until the mod rolls that as well, instead of furthering the story. Let the mods do that for you!
So do us on ZZ staff a favor and reply to this with your understanding, as well as a fixed post. You don't have to edit the one above here, just go ahead and post a new one so we can reply to you. You can still attempt to capture the pidgey, but after you've thrown the ball that's the last action. Your next mod post would have the result of the capture, as well as a way to fill out the details for your new Pokemon friend. You've been waiting, so the quicker you post we'll throw you to the top of the list. Also, feel free to send me a private message when you have a post up as well. if you have ANY questions, please feel free to message any of our pink, blue or green staff. Cbox is also open for any questions, as we have quite a few experienced players lurking in chat as well. <3

Okey doke. I've taken a look at the posts and I believe you are referring to the one where I had commanded my Charmander to try and grab the Pidgey's leg and scratch it yes? I am thinking that the reason why that was considered godmodding was because I didn't say "Charmander attempted to" and instead just put that Charmander did it. I apologize for that. Or if it's a different post I'll make sure to save it as reference. Thanks for informing me that I wasn't doing the system correctly. I was assuming if I tried to have charmander do something and it doesn't work then the mods would just write the post as so. Now I know better.
Now as for moving past the plot by assuming I captured the Pidgey. I was told I should probably wait to see if the pidgey is actually captured to move forward in the plot, but I sort of explained to I think Lamont that I don't mind posting extra to progress the plot and if the capture fails then the rest of the post being null void. If it is preferred by the mods that I wait for the pokemon to be captured before progressing the plot, I'm fine with that. I don't think I have any questions as I understand how the system works. Thanks for cooperating with me, and let's make Kentucky Fried Pidgey a thing!
The Pidgey was tough, that was for sure but her Charmander was a determined Pokémon eager to prove itself to her master. Her Charmander most likely couldn't take much more punishment, and even if it could she wouldn't allow it. She didn't want to walk into the professor's lab and request for a new Pokemon because she was being a bad trainer. "Go! Pokeball!" She tossed her red and white orb for the second time to catch this wounded Pidgey. She needed to get her Pokémon to the professor immediately after this endeavor. The orb would attempt to contact the Pidgey whilst midair before it would drop to the ground, beginning it's rotation as it was a tense moment. Would Pidgey be captured? Or would Senshi be forced to retreat with her Charmander. Odayakama Senshi looked with a calculating stare of anxiousness, and she would wait for the result. If the capture was successful, this would be Senshi's first captured Pokemon ever on the beginning of her adventure. Now only time could give Senshi an answer.

Once more, Senshi tossed a Pokéball at her quarry, hoping beyond all hope that this would be the one to capture it. Charmander's current condition didn't look very promising, to say the least, and this could have been her last chance. The ball absorbed Pidgey completely, snapping shut quickly and dropping down into a puddle on the ground. It jiggled violently, splashing water around as the creature inside tried to get itself loose once again. It was determined to not be ensnared by this human. However, did it have much choice? Would it be capable of breaking free this time? After one powerful movement, the ball started to settle significantly. With a second strong wriggle, it almost stopped moving entirely. A third, final effort from the Pidgey also failed to make any impact, and the ball clicked once to signal the successful capture.
Congratulations!

As the ball had captured the pidgey, the moment was so tense that somebody could cut the tenseness with a knife. The ball had enveloped the Pidgey as it fell to the ground, shaking once violently within the waters, showing that this bird was no easy target, and that it had a lot of fight within it. The girl had felt an excitement as if she were truly alive from this experience, and so she was a bit more calm when she saw that the ball was wiggling less...before then there was a capture. Pidgey had stopped resisting as it was now hers. This bird fought long and hard, but it was something that Senshi was proud of. The battle has ended as Charmander had huffed and puffed with pride after winning such a harsh endeavor. The feminine fire lizard had looked into the air before yelling out it's name with a small clout of fire...signifying it hard learned the move ember. "Huh? You learned a new move! That's excellent Charmander. You've worked with me well. However, I need to take you for rest. Return!" The girl held the red and white ball out as Charmander was zapped and sent back to the pocket dimension whilst Senshi walked up to the fallen Pokeball, taking it within her hand before slowly clipping it onto her belt. Thus, she would walk back the way she came after all to first go to the professor to see if he could help fix her two pokemon up, also so that she could find out some more information about the pidgey she just captured. She wanted someplace safe to guard her two pokemon anyways. Besides, some better weather would be great...because she had wet sand all over her and it really sucked. So...she departed back to New Bark Town. It was a small town, but then again she didn't expect too much anyways. The redheaded rookie trainer had found she was welcomed with open arms as were her pokemon which were fed and warmed as well as taken care of. However, she wanted to know more about the Pidgey she had just captured. Fifteen Minutes Later. There had been some minor observations and some potion sprayed on both Pokemon to discern her Pidgey's skills. It was a decently strong Pokemon for one of the ones found around the wilds of New Bark Town, and it seemed more than worthy to be called a member of Senshi's party considering how strong it seemed. However, now was the time to approach it to see how it would behave. The young child stepped up to the line of sight of the Pidgey before giving a small smile. "Konichiwa Pidgey. My name is Odayakama Senshi, and I guess you're my new friend now huh? Let's go and travel around the world a bunch yeah?" She held her hand out in an attempt to caress this new bird with a small smile on her face. She now waited to see how her Pidgey would respond. She didn't have any ill intentions towards it as now it was part of her small party. She was going to head on out with the Pidgey and Charmander soon to look for whatever other pokemon might be around later. She saw that there were several bug types laying around, so hopefully she might find some good ones. She had heard that there were several types of Pokemon, but she wouldn't mind finding a wurmple around. She knew that they were decent pokemon and evolved to turn into the fearsome Dustox or the beautiful Beautifly. Although, she wouldn't mind finding any other kind of pokemon around either. It could be more combat experience and or maybe something that she could learn from. Maybe, she would even find a pokemon she would like to add to her party. For now, she felt that she should get some experience pokemon battling and capturing them in this route until she was certain that there was nothing that she had left to learn from here. Now with a Pidgey and a Charmander, she wanted to get her Pidgey some experience now. Clicking the tiny ball, it would expand to normal size before she threw the ball to the floor. "Pidgey? Would you mind taking to the skies and telling me if you see any Pokemon around? I need your eyes to help me locate anything. We are going to look to train...and or maybe get a new friend for us." Thus...she waited for a reply. PidgeyName: [Pidgey] Gender: [Female] Level: 5 Moves: Tackle, Sand Attack Ability: Keen Eye Nature/Personality: [Sassy]
