OOC: box zigzagoon jiglypuff for now and move exp share to horsea after putting in party take out Cottonee please gonna do a battle in route 35 and then do the sudowoodo
After the battle with Whitney, Ethan was quite motivated enough to spend the next few days mixing up new tunes to add to his portfolio. Sooner or later, he would have enough to maybe release his album and be on the stage in concerts. Though he would have to find agent and studios that will sell his tracks, and this would be some time to find. Little did he know, as the days went on, the weather in Goldenrod City had been heating up to a blazing level of warm. Just five minutes outside will leave him sweaty and dying for indoor. At the same time, he actually liked sweating a little because it would feel like he was productive like he was exercising, but not exactly exercising.
Today he decided to walk to the park, after being holed in himself for too long. Thankfully, he put on sun screen to reduce chance of skin cancer. Now, he was making his way to the local city park where he could at least run under the occasional shades of the trees. As he continued, he heard the sound of an ice cream truck in the park, where probably bunch of kids and teens probably were. He would run over there if he wasn't already heated from the sun right now.
OOC: Meowth fake Out on whoever shows up first.

There was no doubt the near park would be teeming with life today. Not only was it a beautiful summer day for various water sports and cool refreshments, but the beating beams beating down Johto was like sweet candy to grass pokémon and the like. Everything was a prime green flourishing all over the route as Ethan traveled through, passing joggers making their rounds, kids blasting each other away with squirtle guns, various lazy pokémon shuffling about the sidelines soaking in the rays, even just the plain ol' grass waved back and forth in a deep sea of joyous green whilst flowers and weeds of all kinds opened their buds to absorb the sunlight. But where there are an abundance of grass pokémon there are also bug types. The buzz of bees relishing in the spanning flora hummed from the park amidst all the other busy murmur of park goers, but much closer by was a whipping beat of quiet membranes. With all the hustle and bustle of humans mucking about it was very hard for a predatory bug to swoop in for some goods, leaving one particular yanma rather agitated at the lack of opportunities lying about. But... as it departed the park its keen eyes spotted a lonely human to take its frustrations out on. Yanma swooped down lower, aiming to come in from behind but it underestimated the perky ears of Ethan's companion. Felimine's ears twitched, head turning ever so slightly as she noted the incoming wild pokémon. Her pace slowed ever so slightly as she prepared. Once Yanma was within range she twisted around suddenly and pounced. The flying bug screeched to a halt at the scare, leaving it in perfect positioning for the sly cat to get in and smack Yanma in its bug face. Needless to say the dragonfly backed off in momentary fear; reassessing its next approach. Wild Battle Weather: Harsh Sunlight Yanma | LV 18 | HP: 51% (29/56) Status: Normal Flinched! VS
Felime | LV 26 | Technician HP: 100% (64/64) Status: Normal Used Fake Out!

Catching the sound of the incoming and stealthy Yanma with her perky ears, Felime heard the swooping insect and outsmarted it with a Fake Out, stopping it from directly assaulting Ethan. The human took note of this and stepped back, woah, that was a close call! He also congratulated his Pokemon for having sharp ears.
"Good Catch, Felime! This Pokemon looks stealthy and fast, but it was no match for you! Now, go for a Scratch attack!" He stepped back a number of steps and ordered his Pokemon. If he's a fool enough to stand this close to his Pokemon while a battle was going on, he's gonna have some cut from the bug Pokemon's wings flapping really fast and maybe slicing him. He wondered if he would catch this Pokemon and maybe trade for a price, but the weather was a little too warm to bother with this today, and he also couldn't gauge how rare this was.
OOC: Scratch x2 in case first one don't work.

The Yanma continued to vent its anger silently, hovering up above the ground as it waited for Felime to make her move. It was going to relieve some of its pent up fury if nothing else today. This human would soon learn not to let its kind crowd around and inconvenience the poor Bug types of this world. Particularly not Yanma. But Ethan and Felime were none the wiser to this critter's frustrations, and Felime in particular was probably not interested in what Yanma had to say. She rushed forward, her claws extending quickly as she began to continue her assault on Yanma. Jumping up into the Bug type's face, she slashed across its face, causing the little dragonfly to recoil a few inches backward in pain. How dare this human defy it again! Yanma was positively fuming by this point, and it wasn't going to let a scratch like this go unpunished. Its wings buzzed fiercely as it took to the skies, gaining feet upon feet of air. Felime could do little more than watch in confusion as its opponent seemed to run away. However, the insect was doing nothing of the sort. It changed direction in an instant and came plummetting back down to earth, wings picking up speed all the while. As it reached ground level again, the noise reached a devastating level, letting rip a sonic boom from its wings. Together with Yannma's momentum, the resulting attack had quite some force behind it, and Felime was knocked off her feet easily. The feline picked herself up as quickly as she could, dusting herself down before retaliating as soon as she could, scratching once more. And this was as much as Yanma could take. Not emotionally, but physically. The Bug type fluttered down softly to the ground, unable to move any more. Wild Battle

OOC: can you move this thread to quest board? now doing night of living tree
The Yanma might looked fast, but of course Felime was faster, if not strategic in her movement. The flying insect was trying to retaliate with its sonic boom, but that seemed weak compared to the cat's reflexes. The fluttering insect was clawed down quickly by Felime, making it crash landing to the ground until it recovered. Ethan thanked his Pokemon for her great help, and returned said Pokemon. After the battle ended, he made way to the ice cream truck and got himself and his Pokemon some ice cream, after sending all of them back out, of course. Weecot was a grass type and did't particularly like ice cream, so Ethan got him a Smoothie instead.
After the ice cream thing was over, Ethan recalled his Pokemon and made way to explore the park and the city again. Even though it was the afternoon/evening, the weather was still hot, and Ethan might have taken a wrong turn and found himself in a farmhouse area kind of thing. He was actually surprised a big city like Goldenrod would have a farm. The area smelled of fresh berries for some reason.

As Ethan started to wander away from Goldenrod City and its vibrant, lively nature, he found himself accidentally stumbling across Route 36. Though, in truth, one would hardly recognise it as such right now. Something seemed very different in this highly-wooded area. Very unnatural. The trees now surrounding Ethan as he walked through the place looked worse for wear. Sizeable dents and slashes were littered across them, with many clearly missing branches. With the sun now beginning to set, these mauled trees lent an ominous look to the immediate area. If Ethan cared to look to the ground around him, he'd see bird Pokémon of different species lying on the ground, battered and bruised. It wasn't clear whether these poor creatures were still breathing; one had to hope that they weren't given their current conditions. However, before he'd be able to tend to some of these poor creatures, Ethan would start hearing voices in the distance. "Poor things... I wonder what happened to them," a young, female voice muttered as it passed by. "Haven't you heard?" Some huge monster's been tearin' through here, destroyin' everythin'," a male replied. "I hear it's 10 foot tall, with skin hard as stone and a taste for... HUMAN FLESH!" The male shouted this last couple of words, earning himself what sounded like a slap from his companion. The voice laughed, trailing off as Ethan continued through the route. To his left, the trainer would find some sort of plantation. There wasn't anyone tending to it at the moment, but the fencing and rows upon rows of berry trees hinted pretty clearly that this wasn't a natural formation. Someone was farming these berries, for certain. Well, they had been. Unfortunately, what would probably have been a few neat rows of trees was now a mess of damaged stumps and the occasional branchless plant. As Ethan sized up the plantation, though, something rustled in the bushes nearby. "HAH! GOTCHA, YA DAMN VANDAL," a voice shouted from Ethan's right hand side. With that, a figure leapt out from the plant cover in that same direction, thrusting a pitchfork into Ethan's face. "So, ya come ta start stealin' ma berries now, eh? Not on my watch, son!" Once Ethan got a chance to check out his attacker, he'd see what looked like your typical farmer-type. A portly middle aged man glared at the young trainer, his fork-carrying hand shivering slightly as he threatened this 'vandal' before him. Behind him, a Furret growled. The Normal type looked just about as pleased at Ethan's presence as its trainer. "I dunno whatcha after, boy, butcha ain' gonna get away with harmin' ma crops. Go get 'im, Furret!" He stood back, allowing his ferret Pokémon to take his position in front of Ethan and continue growling.
A furious Rancher has jumped out at Ethan, accusing him of damaging his plantation! He's sent out a Furret (Level 23) to fight with! You know the drill, Tiki. Get to it.

OOC: don't tell me what to do Stun spore + Giga Drain
As Ethan would inspect carefully, this scenery was darker than it looked. There were fallen Pidgeys and Spearows, and some flying type Pokemon he don't know the names top of his head, not that he cared. Though the scene would be terrifying for kids. He overheard some people joked about a monster terrorizing this area with a love of berry, that's what he concluded. Well, no monster would be a match for him since he had a team of Pokemon, right?
When he thought he was being quiet, he heard a shout on his right. He turned and saw an old man, who was certainly not ten feet tall. "Hey! I didn't steal your berries! Does my hands or mouth smells like berries to you?" He hollered back in defense. "Though I could really use another battle right now, this heat is making me energetic. Come on out, Weecot, start off with a Stun Spore and then a Giga Drain!" Out from the Pokeball was an equally energetic Cottonee. He quickly moved on his... body as he bounced around and got ready to apprehend that Furret.

(But isn't that what Staff are for, telling people what to do? Lemme feel special and important damn it! D: )"Yer hands? Ya want me ta sniff yer hands now? Ya really think I'm gonna fall fer that one, kid?" the farmer spat in reponse. Furret backed up its trainer's remark with a loud, piercing screech. There seemed to be no point in trying to reason with this pair at the moment; their blood was boiling and they were itching for the release of a good battle. Fortunately for everyone involved, Ethan obliged and called out his first Pokémon, Weecot. The Cottonee's appearance surprised the rancher a little bit; this cute little cloud-like creature didn't look like the kind of menacing Pokémon one would expect from your average vandals. Still, it didn't appear to discourage him at all. In fact, once the initial shock had subsided, it actually motivated him. "That's more like it, ya little vandal. Let's settle this like men. Go get 'im, Furret. Show 'em what ya get fer messin' with our ranch!" Furret hissed and spat at Weecot, slinking forward slowly and glaring at the Grass type. But before it could make any kind of impact, the Grass typed Prankster was already on the move. Weecot let loose a stream of yellow particulates, firing them at Furret as quickly as he could. However, Furret was just as quick and jumped up and out of the way of the attack. This creature was every bit as agile as it looked, and it would only get more impressive from here. "Hah, ya need some glasses, son? Furret, let's 'ave a Natural Gift!" At this moment, it was hard not to notice the little berry that Furret had been holding. An Occa Berry, to be specific. This Fire-reducing berry would've been entirely unusable to a Normal type usually, but the mammalian critter didn't care one jot. It swiftly tossed the morsel up into the air and downed it in one large gulp. Patting its beige-furred chest firmly a couple of times, Furret then coughed up a bright-red stream of energy, loosing it straight at Weecot. The Cottonee squealed in distress, the Fire-typed attack postively sizzling his cloud-like visage. The farmer laughed as his surprise attack paid off for him. "Howzat? Natural Gift uses up a berry, but its power 'n type change dependin' on that berry. That there Occa Berry gives it a Fire typin'. Beats yer Cottonee hands down, so it does. Ya see, ya've gotta respect the berries, son!" Furret posed proudly as its owner boasted, even taking the opportunity to take a bow in front of its master. "Now then, Furret, get 'im quick before tha' Prankster thing kicks in again! Fury Swipes" Furret darted forward, bouncing across the slightly uneven and mangled terrain with incredible ease. It dragged a sharp set of claws across Weecot's face, landing two blows before the Fairy backed off and regrouped. The ranch owner sighed softly, cursing his own luck. "Just two, eh? Never mind, Furret. That's more than enough fer now." Weecot disagreed, though, glaring unblinkingly at his opponent. He wasn't about to let one side get away without damage. Glowing a faint green, Furret soon found its energy draining away. Weecot, on the other hand, was rejuvenating himself every second. "Hang in there, Furret! You got this, pal!" the farmer called out to his partner. It was true; the pair looked very comfortable after the early exchanges. The plus side was the usage of the Occa Berry. There'd be no more surprises now, surely. Trainer Battle

Ethan grumbled as the battle unfolded, and well, the surprise Natural Gift wasn't doing his grass type really well. Weecot seemed to have taken a dent, on top of the fury swipes thing. For a farmer like this man, he have his own surprises up his sleeve. Hopefully, there won't be anymore, because Ethan wasn't sure if his grass type could handle another scratchy face attack. You see, Weecot wasn't a scratching post for cats, he was an actual Pokemon who could feel pain of being attacked and the joy of winning a battle.
"Aww, man." He sighed. "Hang in there, Weecot! Use another Giga Drain!" He hollered. He was hoping his Pokemon won't faint after taking such a strong hit. Could this Cottonee get points for efforts maybe? Could luck be on his side so he don't have to switch Pokemon? He was a bit reluctant to switch Pokemon, but another Giga Drain would have to do for now.

The farmer laughed gloatingly at Ethan's reaction to the first round of battle, crossing his arms in a proud-looking stance. "Haha, what did I tell ya? Ya ain't gettin' away with this, son! Show 'im who's boss, Furret!" Furret called out triumphantly, as though the match was already done and dusted. The pair were seemingly getting into this battle, adrenaline starting to temporarily replace their ire from earlier. Still, they were obviously determined to keep this plantation protected from Ethan and his vandalising ways. They weren't to know that they were completely misguided and that this battle could've easily been avoided, after all. All they knew was that this person had strayed onto their territory and they needed to take revenge for their plants. "Alright then, Furret. Before this thing's Prankster kicks in again, give it anotha o' them Fury Swipes!" Furret nodded and started to prowl forward slowly, staring resolutely at Weecot as it advanced toward the Cottonee. Still recovering his energy from the last move, Weecot couldn't do a lot more than just wait for the inevitable attack to connect. In a flash, Furret put its foot on the metaphorical gas pedal and sprung forward, slashing across Weecot's face a couple more times. Furret's owner grimaced as the attack came to its early conclusion, bringing a hand to his face in moderate disbelief. "Tsk... two hits again. This vandal sure is lucky..." he mumbled to himself. Furret lowered its head a little, overhearing its trainer's comments. However, the Normal type had little time to mope around as its opponent was about to try and exact revenge for the Swipes. Weecot put on a repeat performance, just as its opponent had done earlier, and let loose another of its Giga Drains. Furret glowed a faint green as the attack sapped a large amount of its life force, its legs shivering a little while it tried to remain upright. Seeing this attack take its toll on his partner, Ethan's opponent couldn't help but yell out in support of Furret. "Hang in there, pal! You got this!" the rancher shouted, a slight hint of desperation in his voice now. Trainer Battle

Ethan shook his head and was beginning to get pissed. He hollered quickly in response, "Old man, I said I didn't steal your berries! Do you understand? DO I have to spell it out for you?" He growled at him, wondering if a Pokemon battle would even convinced this man at all. He then watched as the Pokemon exchanged their combat skills, and both of them seemed to be getting tired. Perhaps, a few more turns and then a victor would be declared.
"Hang in there Weecot! Use Giga Drain again on this Furret!" He shouted and watched as the cotton fluff Pokemon bounced around and tried to sap the opponent's energy again.

Ethan's words still fell upon deaf ears as the rancher refused to even listen to a single word he said. To the rancher Ethan's guilt was certain and as soon as he won the battle he would personally make sure Ethan paid his dues. " Now you are mocking my hearing young whippersnapper? You have asked for it now, Furret we are not holding anything back this time." Furret was more than ready to have another go at Weecot as the plant Pokemon was already getting exhausted just trying to endure her claws. Furret extended her claws just as the farmer decided to switch things up a bit. " Furret let's try a Quick Attack this time instead, Fury Swipes is not quite reliable enough and that last Giga Drain really left a mark." Furret then retracted her claws before taking off at a high speed before colliding with Weecot. The small white Pokemon was at the point of physical exhaustion as he began his own attack, a green orb appeared in front of his mouth, as it grew bigger he suddenly fired it at Furret. She squealed in discomfort as the attack sapped her energy giving it to Weecot. The farmer was beginning to worry as his Pokemon slowly got up. " Furret are you alright? This no good trouble maker will pay for what he has done to you." As he looked over at Ethan his face grew blood red as he grew angrier by the second desperately trying to still win the battle. As the Pokemon battle and useless convincing went on another round, Ethan just sighed as he didn't see the point to try to convince the farmer any further. On the plus side, at least he wasn't the police, but if the police did question him, he would better have some defense ready. On the other hand, his Furret was showing sign of fatigue, perhaps, one more Giga Drain would do it.
"Well, since there's no point convincing you, I'll just have Weecot continue with another Giga Drain," Ethan replied, shaking his head at how stubborn the man was. He could see that both sides' Pokemon were getting fatigue, and it's a matter of time he would have to switch Pokemon or look for a recovery item for his Pokemon.

The farmer was quite evidently not listening to anything that Ethan had to say at this point. He wasn't interested in the kid's excuses; he could see the vandal for what he was. A rotten, destructive fellow. This ol' rancher was going to show the inconsiderate little vermin exactly what happened when you destroyed someone's livelihood. 'Exactly, kid! Why d'ya think I'd listen ta the excuses of a darn criminal? Yer gonna be punished for wreckin' my property, y'hear? Furret 'n I've spent years on this place, y'know! How dare kids like you ruin our whole darn work?! Whaddya think yer playin' at, son?" The rancher was getting quite emotional in both tone and facial expression now, as a couple of rogue tears dropped down across his face. Furret chirped angrily in support of its trainer, glaring at Ethan and his Cottonee. The Normal type didn't look like it was in the mood to forgive anyone upsetting its partner. The farmer turned to his beloved furball and offered his next order. 'OK, Furret, all or nothin'! We ain't out yet, after all! Give 'em one last Fury Swipes!' Furret nodded, taking no time to carry out this command. Furret looked a lot more confident than its trainer seemed, though. It could definitely pull off a spectacular move this time around. No doubt! Furret zipped up to Weecot in a flash, letting out all of its ire in a flurry of quick slashes. Its hands worked so fast that it was impossible to see them with the naked eye. All either trainer would see was a thin blur of beige while Furret hacked away at Weecot's body. After a while of scratching, Weecot had had enough. He drooped to the floor, unable to continue any more. 'HAH! THAT'S WHAT YA GET, YA DAMN VANDAL! GET LOST NOW!' the farmer shouted out, punching the air victoriously. Little did he realise, though, that Ethan had more than this to fight with. Trainer Battle

OOC: Meowth use Fake Out, then revive on Cottonee
Ethan shook his head in silence, and just watched as the battle unfolded. Unfortunately, the Furret's Fury Swiping finally got the last leg of his Pokemon, and the jolly grass type passed out from the attack. However, this trainer wasn't going to get lost so easily, and too soon. This would be against Pokemon League rules or something.
"You did great, Cottonee!" He went forward, picking up his grass type Pokemon, but he wasn't going to actually return him in the Pokeball yer. Grabbing another Pokeball, he immediately tossed out his Meowth into the field to take care of some business. "Come on out, Felime! Start off with a Fake Out!"
After sending out his cat, he went a few steps back from the safety of the battlefield, and grabbed this magical revive item to help recover his unconscious Pokemon. The Cottonee went from passed out to waking up from a bad dream in a couple of seconds, and the revive item also disappeared.
