The fog refused to clear up in even the slightest as the next round began. Ekans was still really sore as it tried to hide it's wounded tail the best it could while hoping for a miracle from the fog. Everything was dead silent as Sebastene ordered her Pokemon to Bite the sneak again. It had become a game of cat and mouse but with a snake as the victim instead as Felidae searched for his target. Ekans had found a cart to hide under as Felidae started sniffing around stalking his prey. If he found the snake he would make it pay. Felidae started to walk away and Ekans thought it had caught a lucky break this time but the cat was actually playing a trick on Ekans. Felidae looked over his shoulder through the fog and the moment the snake was in the open he attacked. His razor sharp fangs punctured the poison type Pokemon's skin as he bit down with all his might. Felidae did not think Ekans had anything left in it but he was mistaken as the snake coiled up again. Ekans had other plans this round as instead of a direct attack it leered at the cat Pokemon scaring it half to death. Felidae was terrified as Ekans slowly crawled away into the fog again. Ekans could not afford more damage as it was in rough shape after enduring two bites. If the weather did not show it some mercy soon all hope would be lost. The only good news so far for Ekans was that the fog was still getting thicker and with that there was still a chance to make a comeback. Her glasses fogging up again, Sebastene scowled, pulling them from her face. She reached down, and rubbed them clean with her shirt, only for them to fog up again. The scientist made a mental note to pick up some spray to apply, so that she wouldn't be put in danger by losing her eyesight. While right now, losing it wouldn't be too bad considering they were only a few yards from the Pokemon Center, if it were to happen in or on a mountain, she'd be very, very screwed.
Ten squinted, watching as Felidae stalked away from where the Ekans had hid. Had the Meowth given up? Evidentally not, as suddenly she could see the Meowth's veige fur streaking through the air. There was an awful sound as the feline cried out, landing on the reptile's scaly hide. The Meowth sank his needle-like teeth in as deep as he could, clinging onto the Ekans' tail.
The Ekans leveled a leer at the feline that chilled his blood, and Felidae let go, scrambling away with his tail puffed up. Ten called out his name, bringing the Meowth back to his senses. He hissed, baring his teeth at the Ekans that was attempting to scamper.
Making a mental note to note down that display of intelligence, Ten ordered Felidae, "Felidae! Finish it off with a Bite!"

Tears began welling in the snake's eyes. Figuratively of course, as that wasn't something snakes could actually do. The poor rattle on its tail was betraying it horribly in this fight. The shaking noise drawing the bitey feline straight to it every time. This was not how it was supposed to go! Ekans needed to do something, and fast, as the fog wasn't the only reason why its vision was blurry by this point. The danger noodle slithered along, trying to find some sort of cover that could keep the fangs of Felidae off of it. Perhaps simply keeping on the move was the best option it had? Ekans was beginning to panic, and with its mind clouded by all these fearful thoughts the crafty cat pounced once again. Without fail Sebastene's meowth latched onto the scaly body and chomped down. Ekans writhed underneath, wriggling this way and that in a vain attempt to remove those fangs from itself. However, in its moment of frightened thought instinct took over. In a desperate will to live the ekans dislodged Felidae and immediately retaliated with a sting of its own. Purple glow taking over the ekan's form it struck back, stinging the beige feline with a wick of poison. Felidae hopped away, arm shaking through the air as if that would help stave off the possible additional effect. Luckily she appeared to have gotten away swiftly enough for the poison not to get into her system, the cool humid air surrounding them easing the pang of the snake's attack. Ten squinted through the fog to where she thought the Ekans to be, following the sound of its rattling tail. Huh, she hadn't known that Ekans had rattling tails. Definitely something to look into later; she definitely wanted to capture this Pokemon for further studies. Nothing awful, of course. Just some samples of its venom, perhaps some shed skin, and see what it would be capable of in battle. Would it be more or less intelligent than her other Pokemon? Several of her own Pokemon had surprised her with their mental capabilities, especially Vanderwood. As a plant Pokemon, she'd expected him to be slow-going and lazy, with not much going on behind the eyes. However, he'd proven to be remarkably intelligent, maybe even measuring up to herself, easily the smartest of her entire team.
The Ekans seemed to be trying to flee, from the sound of its rattling tail, but Felidae wasn't letting it. The cat kept on it, harrying the purple-scaled reptile. She could just barely see the tan feline leap, clinging onto the Ekans. The scientist watched as the vague purple shape thrashed, using every muscle in an attempt to free itself from her Meowth. Sebastene made a note to have them practice battling, to see what lengths the Ekans would go to. Would it continue to panic, like this? Or would it grow used to battling, and use the opportunity to injure its opponent, who was stuck to it by their fangs?
Even through the fog, Sebastene could see the Ekan glow an eery purple, and wondered why it would give off a warning of what it would do. Was it to warn any predators that they were poisonous? But if they were going to attack prey, wouldn't that warn the prey they were there?
Straining her eyes, the purple didn't seem to have spread to Felidae, so Ten didn't hesitate to call out, seeing the poorly shape the Ekans was in: "Felidae, finish this! Use Bite one more time."

The ekans could feel it. This was the end. It rattled uncomfortably, each wriggle sending a terrible streak of pain up its body from its tail but still it rattled. Maybe it could warn others not to come by or risk having their poor tails bitten over and over and over again. Which was what was going to happen again. The wild pokémon hissed its agitation, still not quite learning that the noise was what was drawing the meowth to it continually. Normally all the noise made other wild pokémon run away from the predator. The flip was causing it all it's troubles. Thankfully it wouldn't have to worry about it much longer. Felidae pounced yet again and had no trouble sinking her teeth into the ekans as she had the time before. The ekans ceased to writhe, head dropping onto the ground and laying still. The noise all stopped. Clearly Felidae had claimed a victory over the snake.

Tilting her head, Ten listened to the rattle of the Ekans. Was it trying to threaten Felidae? Or was it giving in? Or maybe trying to warn any others of its kind? There were many possibilities, which she wouldn't be able to discover without either being able to speak to the snake-Pokemon, or examining its behavior in the lab. This Pokemon would be useful on her team, as well. The majority were grass-types, and she needed something to balance their type-weaknesses.
The Ekans suddenly went quiet with a soft thud, and Sebastene stepped forward hesitantly. Feli 'mrowed' loudly and proudly, standing triumphantly over his conquest. The feline purred up at his Master as she approached, kneeling beside the fallen Ekans. Her hand ghosted over her Pokemon's head, the cat butting his head against her palm, before being returned to his Poke Ball with a murmured 'good job'. The scientist then pulled a Poke Ball from her backpack, tapping it against the Ekans and watching as it was sucked inside, her Poke Gear making a low 'dinging' noise in her pocket.
Giving the Ekans a name, Sebastene stood back up, dusting off her knees, and began to pace the streets of the small city, trying to decide what to do next.

The mist hanging over the city was beginning to lift, though it did not get any warmer. Clouds hung over the sky, heavy and grey. Within time a very light snowfall drizzled Cherrygrove, turning the haze of fog clouding vision into little flecks of white raining down to obscure vision. At least it wasn't windy. That kept the worst of the chill away. Still, though, the streets were not all quiet. There was another being nearby, warmed with a nice thick yellowed coat, that had watched Felidae destroy the pesky city snake. Sharp eyes glinted from a near alleyway, hidden between a crop of boxes and discards waiting to be picked up on garbage day. The wild pokémon couldn't resist. It snuck away from its shelter and tailed Sebastene for a little while before making itself known with a meow. It stood on its hind legs and scratched the air, making its intentions easily interpreted. A Meowth (Lv 9) appeared! Shiny Check: jwg61ovM1-421-42

Sebastene paced Cherrygrove, huddling tight into her jacket. Her hands were tucked into her hoodie pocket, her head hung low so that her red hair hid her eyes. She was cold, but wanted to get some more training in before going back to the Pokemon Center and warming up, maybe have some nice soup or stew. Anything to chase away the chill. Unfortunately, she knew she'd have to get used to it. As a scientist, she'd spent most of her life in a comfortable laboratory. Now, however, she had to go out and weather the weather.
And then it began to snow.
The red-head groaned, huddling further into her jacket. Even though the snowfall was only slight, it bit through her scrawny form and made her shiver. For a moment, Ten contemplated sending out Noid to warm her, but eventually decided against it. The Torkoal seemed too young to properly moderate her flames, and might burn her. At some point in the future, perhaps, but not yet. She needed to train the reptile first.
Despite the cold, the city seemed peaceful. She'd found herself wandering away from the main areas, and where she'd found herself was quiet and serene. No one else, human or Pokemon, was in sight, and without any breeze she seemed to be the only thing moving, as though she were trapped in time.
The peace was not to last.
Suddenly, there was the soft crunch, crunch, crunch of a creature trodding through snow, the icy crystals shattering under its feet. The trainer, pulling her hands from her pockets, turned to face the sound at the same time that a loud meow! broke the silence. She raised her eyebrows at the feline that leaped about in front of her, clearly challenging her to a fight. 'Really? Another Meowth?' she wondered, but still pulled out a Poke Ball, tossing it to release the Pokemon inside.
A beam of red light shot out, forming a small, brown dog-like Pokemon. The Rockruff woofed, dropping down in preparation to fight. "Let's play-huh?" Saeyoung yipped, leaping into the air upon feeling the moisture on her paws. The dog jumped around, sniffing and nipping at the snow, before turning back to the Meowth upon hearing her trainer give an exasperated call of her name.
"Saeyoung!" Sebastene sighed, "use Bite!"

The feline's hair pricked, the nice smooth fur down its back turning upward at the sight of the canine. What was worse was it was a playful pup. Meowth hissed as some of the snow the rockruff was churning during all the leaps and bounds made its way anywhere near the wild pokemon. None of it had sprayed onto the feline, but it was just the idea that it could have that bothered the finicky being. Meowth gave Saeyoung a deathly stare, growling its annoyance with a flex of its claws. A shiver rolled down the rocky pup's spine, a brief moment of shame accompanying the naivety regarding her greeting of the opponent. But that lasted only a second. If the cat wasn't going to start things then Saeyoung would! The excited hound jolted forward, spraying snow in her wake as she fast approached the moody cat. Once close she opened her maw and gave the meowth a more appropriate battle greeting. The feline growled harder, hissing as a follow up as the teeth sunk in. It's only solace was that its growl earlier had furthered the pup's desire to play thus weakened the blow. Wild Battle Weather: Clear Meowth | LV 9 HP: 78% (22/28) Status: Normal Used Growl! Sebastene smirked at the Meowth as it bristled at the sight of Saeyoung, seeming none too happy to see the dog. She made a mental note to write down the behavior, interested that the feline seemed to dislike the canine. Was that universal for all feline Pokemon? Did they all dislike all canine Pokemon? Could they be trained to like eachother? It would be interesting to study. She could possibly test it with her Rockruff, and the Meowth she'd caught earlier.
The trainer tried to fight down a laugh at Saeyoung's obvious excitement, leaping around and sending snow every which way. Her tail whipped so fast her whole body wagged, and she kept woofing lowly, attempting to invite the Meowth to play.
Ten snickered at Saeyoung's obvious fear, cringing back as the Meowth glowered at her. The pup cowered, fur standing on edge and tail tucking between her legs. The Rockruff shook it off, however, and leaped forward, ready to play, even if the Meowth wasn't. Her teeth close tight on the feline, and she shook her head playfully before leaping away, prancing back out of reach as she waited for her next order.
"Bite, again!"

Meowth’s decision to use a growl certainly did help negate a bit of damage against the rock puppy Pokemon, but the cat was still wary of this dog Pokemon. True to the species, much alike the relationship that Zangoose and Seviper have, most cat Pokemon have a natural repulsion against dog Pokemon, or so it was believed. However, many times cat and dog Pokemon could get along upon domestication on a trainer’s team, so it depends on the individual.
The cat licked its claws menacingly, attempting to intimidate the rock Pokemon further. This cat got ready to attack once more, baring its fangs at Saeyoung. It lept forward, speeding towards the trainer Pokemon, and chomped down with a large bite attack. Saeyoung followed suit, an eye for an eye. This battle was certainly heating up, Meowth was attempting to catch up in terms of damage points. Wild Battle Weather: Clear Meowth | LV 9 HP: 57% (16/28) Status: Normal Used Bite! Sebastene watched calmly as her Rockruff and the wild Meowth faced off. Saeyoung was in no real danger, she knew, so she wasn't concerned at all. This was just an attempt to get some experience for the young pup, who she'd yet to use in battle before. The wild-cat bared its needle-like teeth at the Rockruff in what was obviously an attempt at intimidation, but Rockruff simply mimicked it playfully. Her tail whipped excitedly, and she hopped from side to side. She stopped with a yelp as the Meowth sank its teeth into her pelt, jerking away and whimpering as though to ask why it had done that. The dog-Pokemon snapped out her teeth in retaliation, before jumping back, now eyeing the Meowth warily.Looking at the Meowth, Ten called out, "Saeyoung, use Bite again."140 WORDS Saeyoung the rockruff uses bite

The feline's fur continued to stand on end as it glared at the chipper canine. Not only was the dog just... there... but it was also mocking the graceful cat. Meowth grumbled its annoyance in a high pitched noise, switching to a hiss when the trainer called out for a repeat of the last two times. It bared its own fangs once again, deciding it might as well fight with the same tactics. Meowth leaped forward, slick and quick. Much faster than the bulky hound it was trivial for Meowth to get in close and land its own bite attack. Sharp pointed teeth slipped through Saeyoung's natural defenses, causing the young rockruff to yelp a bit. All the damage was beginning to add up. But this battle was far from over. Saeyoung chased after the retreating cat and pounced, catching the beige furred friend and biting down just like Meowth had done to her. Sebastene eyed the hissing Meowth, worried it might attempt to sink its needle-like teeth into her legs. It wasn't unheard of for a feral Pokemon to turn on humans, and she wasn't certain Saeyoung would be fast enough to stop her - or willing to. She wasn't yet sure of the Rockruff's loyalties; although dog-Pokemon seemed inherantly loyal, she'd known some trainers who'd had trouble earning the loyalty of Pokemon that had been bought or gifted to them. From what she'd seen, the Pokemon didn't view their trainers as strong enough, as they hadn't been bested in battle, but turned over for money. The Rockruff woofed lowly at the Meowth in confusion - why was it so angry? Why didn't it want to play? While she was distracted, the Meowth made its move, sinking its teeth into her hide. She whimpered and yelped, cowering back, before bristling as she began to grow angry. The little pup didn't hesitate to return the favor, sinking her teeth into the Meowth. Leaping away, the Rockruff didn't wait for an order before lunging forward, snapping her fangs at the Meowth in an attempt to startle it, before diving in for another Bite attack. 197 WORDS

This wasn't any fun anymore, the pup had decided. The feline was just far too grumpy to get any enjoyment out of pouncing around, and those bites were really starting to hurt. The wild meowth hissed again, staying back this time and going with an agitated growl in the hopes of making the discouraged hound turn tail and run. It may have worked with another wild pokémon, but Saeyoung wasn't wild. The turn from pleasure didn't go to boredom it went to wanting a bit of payback. The rockruff rushed forward without even a word from her trainer, planting another set of teeth into the angry cat. Meowth retaliated with a scratch across the rocky body. Pointless really. At best the cat had only managed to dull its own claws. Saeyoung returned with another bite and finally put the noisy feline unconscious. VICTORY!
