The doors slid open and it felt like Avila had stepped into another world. Out side of the town lied Union Cave which was dark and a bit spooky while on the other side was the Forest that she would have to tackle later after the gym battle. The door slammed to a close behind her, as if not permitting her to leave until things were done and taken care of here. That was a bit...eerie to her. She looked up noticing that the gym's outward appearance pretty much looked like a forest or a jungle. Green foliage filled the area, and the gym almost looked like a green house. All the plants were taken care of and watered daily by the trainers or a sprinkler system that was used for it. "Wow, this place sure is different than the last gym that I visited." Avila observed as she stepped onto a grassy battle field.
Towards the center there was a circle that marked out where the pokemon were supposed to meet and battle. To be honest, Avila didn't seem to be that concerned about bugs, she knew that some girls were bothered by them. But she actually liked a few pokemon that were bug type, one was Butterfree or even Spinarak but that was pretty much it as far as she could tell. Finally giving herself enough courage she called out knowing Bugsy would hear her, he had to be here, that was the whole purpose! So trainers could test their abilities towards gym leaders and see for themselves if they were ready for progress further up the gym leader chain. If Avila lost here, that meant it was back to training out in Azalea's routes and she wouldn't mind.
"Bugsy! My name is Avila, I am a native Johto trainer hailing from Blackthorn City, where they raise Dragon Pokemon. Although I don't have a dragon pokemon just yet, I'd like to challenge your Gym. So ready or not, Hear I come!" She called out as he took out her first pokeball. And she was confident that they'd be able to help out here in this battle. If not, Avila's whole team was lined up for this one. She hoped that her Servine and Oshawatt wouldn't have to battle, they were more back up in this, but she hoped that Quilava named Pyrrhus, Blazebit her charmeleon starter, and then Archimedes her Tranquil would do the job. That was the plan anyways. All three of them had a chance.
"Alright, go Archimedes!" She called out as the brown and grey bird appeared in the sky. It let out a sharp trill noise as he opened up his wings and soared through the air. It wasn't long before he found a spot on the circular area on the battle field did he wait to see if Bugsy would show himself. Avila was ready. Archimedes was ready. It was right about now where she felt her heart pounding in her chest! Let the games begin!

Bugsy waited in the back of the gym as his challenger introduced herself. It had been a while since a trainer from Blackthorn had challenged him. The last match he had against a trainer from there he was throughly bested without even knocking out a single Pokemon so he was a bit worried. Even with his worries the news that Avila would not use a dragon type against him was a bit of a relief. He had very limited experiences battling dragon types but he would have proudly faced them if he had to. As she finished introducing herself Bugsy stepped forward before responding. " Welcome to the Azalea Gym Avila, my name is Bugsy and I am the gym leader. I have fought a few other trainers from Blackthorn and they were all quite challenging. I look forward to seeing how strong you are. I admit my experiences with dragon type Pokemon is next to zero so not facing one will be a bit of a relief as I know they are powerful." As Avila sent out her first Pokemon Bugsy was pretty confident that he was in for a tough battle. Tranquil was one of the rarer flying types he had to face and they could be quite a handful. Bugsy did not want to risk his strongest Pokemon off the bat so he played it safe. He grabbed the first Pokeball from his pocket onto the floor. A Metapod appeared from it with a rather determined look on it's face. " Metapod will be the first Pokemon I will use. She may not look tough but looks can be quite deceiving. Now Avila what move will you be using first?"Bugsy sends out his Metapod(Level 18) please select a move.

"It's nice to meet you, Bugsy." Avila responded hearing his introduction and then his first pokemon came out after it. Avila's first look at the Metapod was a bit of a surprise. The pokemon she had heard about evolved from Caterpie into a cocoon that couldn't move very well. She knew that Bugys's words probably had some truth to it, after all the trainer knew their pokemon far better than any one else. She would have to step around lightly with each pokemon that he sent out. She knew Blazebit her starter was certainly a pokemon not to be messed with, he'd be last resort as far as she was concerned, maybe even give the final blow if need be. "A metapod, I've seen at least one or two of them before. They evolve into Butterfree." Avila pointed out.
"Well then, here we go." Avila said trying to sound confident in her battle, she was also a bit nervous. They had pulled through hard battles like this before, surely her team could do it again. "Archimedes, use Air Cutter!" She called out and her bird pokemon heard the command. He began to flap his wings harder then ever as he stirred up the ground a bit. Once he had enough force powerful slashes could be seen as he aimed them for the Metapod. It was clear that the start of the battle was important, it was like starting a book right, you had to grab the reader's attention and make sure that they were pulled in.
That was just how a battle was. Once the first move was made, the rest of the story would be written through strategy and the trainer and pokemon listening to each other in total harmony. Up next, Avila would have to face the maze that was Ilex forest. She had heard many things about it how trainers got lost there. She hoped that she wouldn't be the next one to face the doom and perish in it.
Ooc: Archimedes used Air Cutter.

Bugsy looked at the challenging trainer's Tranquill in an appraising way. It was definitely a fine specimen, with shiny, well kept feathers and dangerous looking talons and beak. The Pokemon would definitely be a strong challenger, and his Pokemon would have a hard time against it. His Metapod rocked on the ground, the Butterfree thrashing inside, ready to take on the challenger.
Unfortunately, the cocoon wouldn't have the chance.
Archimedes' attack was swift, and brutal. Fluttering his great wings, the Tranquill stirred up the air inside the gym. Metapod struggled not to be lifted up, and Bugsy had to lean into the winds, whipping his hair about. The wind pulled towards the Bird-type, gathering around it, before lashing out towards the bug-type Pokemon. Somehow, the Tranquill had managed to make the wind sharp, lashing out at the Metapod. With an awful tearing sound, the Bug-type was thrown, a gash opening in its carapace. It didn't attempt to right itself, knocked out quickly.
”Congratulations, your Tranquill is very strong.” Bugsy observed, recalling the fainted Metapod. ”Thank you, you did very well.” He put the Poke Ball away, pulling out another. The red-light formed a Pokemon very similar to the previous, although yellow in color and making a disturbing buzzing noise. The Kakuna vibrated in place, betraying the forming Beedrill inside. ”Let's see if you can pull the same trick twice.”
Archimedes has gained +2 levels! He is now Level 23! Archimedes can learn Detect! Forget a move? +1 Happiness! Bugsy has sent out a Level 19 Metapod! Does Avila want to switch out Archimedes?

Ooc: Archimedes doesn't learn Detect Archimedes uses Gust! Archimedes will be staying the battle.
Bic: The wind force was strong and powerful. The Metapod didn't stand a chance towards Archimedes' air cutter and got knocked out on one move. Had they just gotten a lucky streak that time? The Metapod was sent back to its pokeball in a red flash of light to be relieved of the battle where it couldn't do much in. Bugsy would choose his next pokemon to send out into a battle as Archimedes waited patiently to show itself.
"Wow, I'm surprised myself that Archimedes was able to do that." Avila admitted, next pokemon was sent out by Bugsy. It was another cocoon pokemon as it revealed itself to be Kakuna. This one seemed a bit different than the last one that she had faced. She was going to take Bugys's words into account here as she looked at the new pokemon that had appeared. It was making her feel a bit more relieved knowing her pokemon were able to withstand the fight, it was 1 to 3. "A Kakuna? This one looks like it's a lot tougher, maybe we do need to tread lightly." Avila remarked.
"Archimedes, use gust!" She called out towards her flying pokemon. As the bird pokemon rested on the ground not far from where Kakuna was. Archimedes began to flap his wings just like last time. He flapped his wings very hard as he began to manipulate the wind around him to make things move and set in motion. Soon a gust of wind was formed as the pokemon prepared for a gust attack and sent it straight for the Kakuna. it might've not been as strong as the last attack but Avila knew it would do some damage. Up next would be Bugys' last pokemon and she'd have to think twice on who she wanted to use here. Maybe she was better off with using Blazebit since he was her strongest pokemon.

As impressed as Bugsy was he was still not anywhere ready to give up. His Metapod might have gone down in a single hit but in doing so it confirmed his suspicions that Avila's Tranquill was the main threat to his team. She would not have kept him out for another round if that was not the case and so Bugsy was going to take a gamnle with his Kakuna. If it paid off it might throw Avila off her game enough for him to win the match despite his type disadvantage. If it did not pay off he still had his strongest Pokemon in reserve justnin case. Until the right moment came all Bugsy could do was wait. The perfect moment came to him as Archimedes began summoning a mighty Gust. The attack caused debris to fall everywhere and nearly knocked out Kakuna in the process. By hanging on however it threw Archimedes off his game just enough for Kakuna to find the opening she needed. She fired a series of poisonous needles at him as he rested his wings. Each and every needle struck him in the chest and by the end of the barrage he was not feeling very well. The poison in his body had built up enough to slowly sap him of his energy as he grew worse by the second. Bugsy was ecstatic to see his plan work out. " I know exactly what the look on your Tranquill's face means, it has been poisoned by my Kakuna's surprising attack. Poison Sting might not do much damage directly but when it does mamage to poison it's foe it causes it over time instead. My Kakuna is still in rough shape after that last attack. Though she might go down fighting I think the poison puts us on equal playing field again." Bugsy did indeed gain a tactical advantage due to his good luck but Avilla had proven quite a tough foe for him. Unlike most trainers who used flying types she had not swept his team so far. They were so close to knocking out the Kakuna that Bugsy had. He was proving to be quite a powerful trainer, the Metapod had been easy pickings for Archimedes, but perhaps he had been right on about Kakuna being a bit tougher than normal. She looked back at Archimedes who looked like he was in pain but there was something else that she saw in the bird pokemon too, he wanted to finish what he started. Avila would give him that chance, otherwise she'd have to call him back. But not right now, she'd give him that chance.
"We're not giving up, Bugsy. I know Archimedes is poisoned but I'm giving him a chance to go on a bit further. We're not giving up. Plus I have other partners waiting to battle. Some are just as tough as Archimedes." Avila said sounding hopeful that Archimedes could make it through. "Archimedes, use another gust!" She called out. Despite the painful look that he had, Avila could remember when she first met Archimedes, back as a tiny Pidove. Pidove had been able to show how strong he was during Sprout Tower as he fought along side the Cyndaquil, who was now a Quilava and waiting patiently inside a pokeball if she had to use him next. She wasn't sure if she'd use him or Blazebit next in the last part of the battle.
Archimedes flew forward as fast as his body would allow it despite the poison seeping at his body, he began to stir up the air around him. It created a small mini tornado once again as the winds were moving for his direction. Once he gathered enough strength for the tornado he sent it towards the Kakuna. Avila hoped this next attack would work, if not she could try and use another tac tic. Still, she couldn't help but wonder what Bugsy's plan was, guess they just had to wait and see, and try to counter it.
Ooc: Archimedes used gust again!

Bugsy held no ill will towards birds, seeing as how his fellow gym leader in Violet City was a master of them, but his heart always sank a little whenever a trainer strolled into his gym with one. They barely batted an eye at his Bug-type's moves, and were usually evolved at least once, spelling a quick doom unless he acted quickly. Some had succumbed to the poison he'd just succeeded in applying to Archimedes, but most were untroubled or simply switched out for something healthier. His last Pokemon always put up a great fight, though he preferred not having to completely rely on her to try his best to give challengers a decent fight. In this particular fight however, Kakuna was on figurative shaky legs and seeing the whirling wings Archimedes was stirring up only made the cocoon Pokemon shudder even more.
"Stay strong Kakuna!" the purple-haired youth called out, hoping at least his words offered some comfort to his partner. Kakuna tensed herself as Avila's Tranquill hurled the mini-tornado directly at her, emitting a fearful noise as it lifted her clear off the ground before unceremoniously dumping her near Bugsy's feet. The impact was too much to bear in her weakened state, and she simply fainted, Bugsy blowing out a faint breath before recalling his Pokemon with a whispered apology. His face was still animated as he looked up at his challenger, not wanting to be unsportsmanlike and spoil the mood solely because he was losing badly thus far. "I'm glad you're not the type to give up so easily. But even so, poison can easily wear down even the hardiest Pokemon if a trainer isn't careful," he replied with a slight grin.
It was doubtful his opponent would keep Archimedes in, the bird's face registering another pained expression as the pain from his poisoning returned with a vengeance. "If you want to show me one of your other tough partners, now's the best time, as I'll bring in my own. Scyther, front and center!" Bugsy said, tossing his last Poke Ball forwards with gusto. Emerging from her ball with a fierce battle cry, his beloved ace extended her scythe-arms out wide and fluttered noisily before landing before her trainer. Scyther's expression was shrewdly determined, not displaying one bit of fear or apprehension over Archimedes' presence - she'd fought many birds before. And even come out successful with her incredible speed and strength, a testament to her role as Bugsy's ace.

Ooc: Swapping Archimedes out for Pyrrhus (Quilava) Quilava will use Flame Wheel.
Bic: Avila was relieved to see that Archimedes managed to make it this round. But she could tell that he had enough the bird pokemon was slowly loosing his health as Avila took out her pokeball that Archimedes belonged too. "Good job Archimedes, you did great. Now time to get some rest." Avila pointed out as she sent the pokemon back as it disappeared into a bright red Flash. As Avila called her own pokemon back, she figured that it was time for Bugsy's ace in the hole his Scyther. The Scyther, like the other pokemon looked tough and powerful, but now Avila had decided who she wanted to use this time around in a battle.
"Wow your Scyther looks tough, but I think we can handle this. And it sounds like good advice, I'm switching Archimedes out for another." Avila said as she took out Pyrrhus' pokeball. She remembered meeting him at Sprout Tower along with Archimedes. Back then he was a determined Cyndaquil, and he is still a determined pokemon. If he could do some damage to Scyther and weaken her before sending out Blazebit for the final blow, they might actually have a chance of winning. "Alright, let's go Pyrrhus!" She called out towards her pokemon. The pokeball was released as the firey pokemon came into the air. He was a lot smaller than the Scyther but as he lit up his body flames could be seen around him showing that he was ready to battle.
"Pyrrhus use Flame Wheel!" Avila called out. Pyrrhus heard the call to use the next move. Pyrrhus' body glowed a deep red as he began to collect some flames. They quickly spun around him as she collected the flames. It wasn't long before Pyrrhus was satisfied with the flames that he had collected. Once he had enough he sent them aimed at the Scyther hoping that this would do some damage.

Secretly relieved when Avila recalled her Tranquill, Bugsy kept his face composed, though he was a little eager to see what else his challenger had up her sleeve. What she sent out next was not an unfamiliar sight to him, a fiery Quilava, but he couldn't suppress an inwards sigh. It was a short-lived one, as his Scyther was no slouch dealing with Fire-types either, her ability one that could turn even a bleak situation into a potential win for her trainer. "A Fire-type huh? Wise idea, but don't think Scyther will be that easy to beat!" Bugsy boasted good-naturedly, winking at Avila. The mantis standing before him gazed down at Pyrrhus as the Quilava burst into flames, steely gaze unflinching in the face of such a display. It would take a lot more than a bit of fire to render her out of commission, something that had hardened her enough to squash an old primal fear that used to arise when faced with a type disadvantage. She brought her scythes together with a loud clang, signalling her readiness to begin.
"Alright Scyther, let's kick this off with Quick Attack!" came Bugsy's orders a heartbeat later. Scyther's mouth curved upwards at the corners as she sprang into action, wings beating hard to give her that extra burst of speed. She was a brilliant green blur that zipped around with ease, dancing a tight circle around Pyrrhus to confuse and disorient him. He was simply unable to keep up with her progress, and she took her chance to strike when Pyrrhus turned his head away, throwing herself bodily into the Quilava whilst minding his flames. Grunting in surprise, Pyrrhus slid quite a distance away, the ache in his side throbbing more than he thought it would for an attack of that nature. It spoke volumes of the true power of Bugsy's ace.
But Avila was counting on him, and he wasn't going to let that dizzying display of swiftness deter him from making his own attack count. Paws spread to brace himself, Pyrrhus closed his eyes and focused hard, feeling the flames spouting from his head and backside completely envelop him. He launched himself forwards, beelining directly for Scyther's unimpressed face. Pyrrhus was pleased when Scyther's expression finally cracked as he rammed into her abdomen, shock flitting across before outrage took its place. She flailed about, wings churning the air to cool herself down as Pyrrhus hurried back to his position in front of Avila. "Oof, that was quite the move!" Bugsy exclaimed, his eyes wide, though from shock or respect was hard to discern.

Bugsy had been right, Scyther was a formidable foe that she had to worry about, but she had confidence and determination that Pyrrhus would be able to weaken the bug pokemon severely. And if by some luck he'd be able to knock him out. However, Avila knew that it wasn't all that seemed. Bugsy was smarter than the average trainer, after all he was a gym leader, right? In order to be a gym leader, you had to be better than good, you had to be pretty much an ace. "Are you alright, Pyrrhus?" She asked as the Quilava had a throbbing bit of pain on him but he nodded back to his partner trainer and managed to give a soft smile. He was ready for more. And this made Avila smile. "Good." She said again, relieved to see that he was alright for now, but she knew they had a long struggle ahead of them.
"Your Scyther is pretty strong, but we're not down and out yet, Bugsy." Avila said as she looked back at Pyrrhus trying to figure out what moves to use next. The scyther didn't look tired just yet. But she remembered one thing, the bigger the pokemon, the harder they fell. Scyther seemed to stand over her Quilava and they could slowly chip away at its health. "Pyrrhus, use your own Quick Attack!" She called out towards her pokemon.
Pyrrhus heard the call out for the next move to be made. He rushed forward in blinding speed, there was a bit of blue in the mix of his red. the flames on his head and on his back were still burning brightly. It was clear that Pyrrhus wouldn't give up so easily, even if this annoying bug was in his way. He thought back to when he first met Avila in Sprout Tower. Back then he felt helpless trying to battle those monks that lived there. But with a team up with Avila and her pokemon, he managed to make it no problem, here would be no different. It just goes to show you that his friendship started off instantly with Avila, maybe she could befriend more trainers and other pokemon in the future. He had hope for that. And with one final blinding flash he appeared towards the Scyther ready to aim his Quick attack.

"Ah, trying to out-speed us ey? Not a bad idea really," Bugsy noted, broad smile glistening on his face as he beamed at Avila; quite appreciative of her lovely comment regarding the mantis' strength. His eyes darted to and fro, watching the yellow-blue blur blaze around in an impressive display. "You're quilava certainly has notable speed. It's usually a fair bet when something is particularly large and strong to expect it to be slower than so sleek and limber but... Go on Scyther. Let's compare Quick Attacks." It was clear the young gym leader was quite confident in his bug's abilities. Both Metapod and Kakuna were rather slow, their strength lying in natural defenses which Avila's Archimedes had no trouble slicing through. But once Scyther got moving it was clear that she possessed more strength's than just power. It was a blur of color that took over the battlefield. Fallen leaves whipping into the air as the quickened steps of both combatants swept across the floor. As soon as Pyrrhus got a lock on Scyther she'd zip away in a shade of green. The lava pokémon would follow suit, making good effort to catch the elusive bug, but in the end it was the mantis that got the first strike. She came in at Pyrrhus' side and gave a hard bash with her shoulder. Her wings fluttered rapidly but barely made a sound with a soft beat. The quilava was thrown back, rolling a ways in a splay of colored leaves. Pyrrhus was shaken from the blow, the tumble sapping a good deal of his strength following the exertion of moving so quickly. But he was far from done. He made to stand, sliding onto all fours with relative ease. Now, with Scyther momentarily winded from her own movements, Pyrrhus had an easier time of bolting around and returning the favor. However, the impact was far less effective than the one he'd received. "One way to handle something with a type advantage over you is to be able to strike first," Bugsy began. "It's a lesson we learned and have grown from. Bug types are often regarded as weak, and it's true that there are a lot of things that are resistant to them but..." he paused, lifting his head higher; smile brightening even further. He was quite enjoying this match up, and not because he was currently winning the current exchange. "Like any pokémon if you take the time to learn them suddenly those weaknesses aren't such a barrier."

A battle of Speed was about to begin as the two pokemon charged forward, Pyrrhus had been the slower one from the start as the Scyther managed to get the upper hand this time around. There was still a lot to be done here. But Avila had gotten the Sycther right where she wanted, weak but not weak enough that he couldn't use any items that he might be holding. "That was pretty impressive, I suppose I'll have to take that into consideration when I get my dragon pokemon. And my own team members now." Avila pointed out. "Pyrrhus and I met way back in Sprout Tower. He was just a Cyndaquil back then and had a heart of a hero when he tried to tackle all those monks on his own. It seemed like that only happened yesterday when we met." Avila said as she put her hands on her hips. "He's done great, and I'm really proud of him. But." She said as she took out her pokemon's pokeball to call the Quilava back. He had done a great job and Avila really was proud of how far he came, but she was certain that he needed more training.
"I know there's a time and place for everything, I got you right where I want you, Bugsy." Avila added as she also probably surprised him by this. "Pyrrhus return!" She called out as she sent her pokeball into the air and the Quilava returned back to his pokeball. This may have been a surprise, and she was ready for this final strike. All Charmeleon needed to do was quickly take out the Sycther.
"Alright let's go, Blazebit." Avila called out as she tossed the second pokeball into the air as the red hot lizard came out. As Blazebit appeared on the field his body formed from the red light and he flexed his claws sharply and they glinted in the light. Unlike Bugsy, Blazebit was fresh and ready to go at this point in the battle. He wasn't tired or anything which was a great way to start things off here. "Say hello to my Blazebit, Bugsy he is my starter pokemon and we've really turned up the heat now in this battle. Now Blazebit, use Dragon Rage!" She called out towards her pokemon. Blazebit created a bright blue flame from the inner bits of his body. Once he had collected enough flames he sent the sharp blue straight at the target of Sycther knowing this would do some damage. If Avila didn't have a dragon pokemon now, this was even better as she watched her Charmeleon send out the dragon attack and hoped that it landed.

Bugsy listened to Avila speak about her partner, eyes alight with interest. Many trainers were passionate about their Pokemon, and hearing them spoken of so fondly always made his heart soar. Regardless of typing, all Pokemon were to be cherished with the same degree of affection Avila held for not only her Quilava, but her other Pokemon too. It was a feeling Bugsy felt a little more strongly for his beloved bugs, though seeing a trainer so happy with their Pokemon never failed to bring a smile to his face. "It's so great being able to battle trainers like you, who care so much for their partners. Makes a battle that much more meaningful right?" he asked cheerfully, eyes connecting with his Scyther. Under her gruff exterior lay a Pokemon who, quite frankly, adored her trainer. She just had to be tough in battles, was all. And as the ace of a Gym Leader, she'd been through enough to harden herself against everything thrown her way but remain content knowing her trainer would always have her back.
Watching his opponent recall her Quilava, Bugsy's brows knitted together in confusion, mirroring his Scyther's face in a rather comical manner. "Scyther, I want you to use Leer on whatever comes in next," he called to the mantis, her head dipping curtly in response. He'd been so certain Avila would keep her Quilava in, possibly to make use of that pesky Blaze ability, that her swap-out had thrown him somewhat... until he saw what Avila sent out next. A familiar sight, Charmeleon, Blazebit was no less frightening for Bugsy at this point in the battle. Scyther could take attacks from a Charmeleon - if her health was higher. Bugsy knew she'd taken enough damage that Blazebit's timely arrival could spell bad news for both of them. Scyther gave Blazebit her best lethal glare, the piercing fury in those eyes making the Fire-type shiver.
"Gotta say, I didn't expect you to switch out your Quilava for another Fire-type. But no matter, we've got this! Scyther, Quick Attack!" Bugsy ordered, keeping his face calm. Scyther cried out, perhaps to try and intimidate Blazebit, flashing across the battlefield in as a greenish blur to bodily check Avila's Charmeleon. He threw out his arms as if to ward off the blow, claws digging in to Scyther's arms as her momentum began to peter out. She managed to escape his grasp, but Blazebit had already made use of the small delay to spit a small, powerful ball of blue flame that struck her directly in the chest. Grunting, Scyther looked down at the scorched spot before her legs gave way, the mantis toppling to the ground in a heap of wings and limbs.
Mouth agape, Bugsy stared at his fainted Pokemon for a moment before he blew out a sigh, returning her to her ball. He looked up to Avila, surprised that he wasn't feeling down from losing - maybe fighting a trainer like her took the sting out of the loss. Walking over to her with a grin, the gym leader reached into his pockets to extract a shiny red badge and green-tinted disc, handing them over to his successful challenger. "You beat me fair and square, and so the Hive Badge is yours! As well as a TM of U-Turn, courtesy of yours truly," Bugsy said with a playful wink, adding a small wad of cash to Avila's winnings. "Congratulations on your win, Avila. May your bonds with your Pokemon grow ever deeper! And some more poetic nonsense. But I suggest you make your way through Ilex Forest as soon as you can. That place is a right maze, though the next Gym you'll want to challenge lies on the other side in Goldenrod. Good luck!" He turned and stepped away, heading to the back of the gym with a hand lifted in farewell.

Avila had been a bit worried that this might've not pulled through but she looked back at her Charmeleon and the Scyther as only one could come out of this rather quickly. Scyther got to attack twice, that was the unfortunate sacrifice that came with it. After the leer, Blazebit's defense went down and then the quick attack came almost knocking Blazebit to the ground. However he got back up and was ready for more. While he had his chance, he sent a blue ball of fire towards the Scyther, it was far hotter than his ember attack and had done plenty of damage. Once the flames disappeared, the only one who was left standing, was Blazebit, the Scyther had given in and lost. "We did it!" Avila said as she was caught up in the battle, she did notice that Bugsy handed a few things over to here. There was a shiny new red hive badge, some pocket money and a TM that she hadn't seen before called U Turn.
"Thank you Bugsy for the badge, I'm sure we've learned a thing or two from this. And for my Quilava I knew from the beginning that he was going to be switched out, I guess I did have a plan here." Avila said as she felt bad that Bugsy lost he seemed like a decent guy. But rules were rules, and trainers had to follow it. She listened as he spoke up about Ilex Forest. It sounded like it was going to be another tough challenge, but she was willing to go far and get to the next gym. There was no time to fret or worry she knew there was some time that was needed to prepare for it. "I'll take your advice once again. Bugsy we'll prepare before setting out but I think my pokemon and I are ready for this one." She added. And with that, Bugsy left and disappeared into the gym leaving Avila alone with her Blazebit. He looked like he could've done more in the battle, but it was over, and Avila had a feeling that she'd use him again.
"Alright Blazebit, we better rest up and then get ready for Ilex forest. We probably could use some super potions and other items." She pointed out. The teenager took out the pokeball that belonged to Blazebit once more and he disappeared into a flash of red light as he went in to get some well deserved rest. Once he was in side, Avila walked out of the gym, night time had fallen and she knew they could start as soon as possible. The gym felt empty as she looked back, but she knew Bugsy was in there waiting for the next challenger. "Ilex Forest, here we come." She said softly as she looked up, seeing the looming and intimidating forest overhead. She could only wonder what kind of secrets would lurk around that place.
Ooc: End thread!
