Here's your story, let's begin The water's fine, come on dive in
Judas was shaken, to say the least, when he finally left Kent's presence with a wincing smile and a tender farewell. He could hope he would see the boy again, and he could hope he might manage to help him fulfill his dream before something dire happened, but it seemed a daunting task to put before him when he..... when he didn't even know how long he had to do it. Perhaps he was being dramatic... maybe Kent was merely frail and ill and not actually dying. He could hope right? If nothing else though.... he had to try for the boy.
The man sighed, heavy bootsteps stopping in the short grass at the Newbark-ward side of the route, and his tall form slumping and sinking to sit leaved against the rough bark of a tree, one hand moving to pinch the bridge of his nose with his fingers, eyes closed and brows drawn together in frustration. So much for a positive start eh? Judas hummed in monotone, trying to allieviate his stress. And here he had thought he might not have to worry about that for a while yet eh? That he might be able to avoid... avoid dealing with matters of mortality, of feeling responsible for someone ill and dying, of feeling.... helpless. Unable to do anything actually useful. He could give Kent his dream, but was there any way for him to give Kent the boy's life?
A deep breath in, his hand dropping from his face even as his head drooped, one knee bringing itself up to rest under his chin as Judas curled up on himself, gazing at the ground before him, azure eyes absent mindedly watching the grass wave, pale green fading to brown as it died in the growing cold. Shoulders slumped in defeat, he closed his eyes after several moments, lost in thought and tired. This kind of thinking did him no good. Better to focus on trying to do what he could then lament what he couldn't right? So.... what did he know of Vivillion? Some, but not much, it was a flying type and a bug type, it came in a variety of patterns depending on where it evolved.... but which and where? He admittedly had not given as much study to the bug types as some others in the flying genre, and now perhaps he regretted some of that. He would have to do some research....
A small hand touched his leg. Blinking open his eyes, Judas glanced up in surprise to find the squirtle whom he had adopted as his starter and new partner standing beside his leg, its dark blue eyes watching him intently, calm, serene. Purposeful. /Rrrtle/ It said with intent, its gaze unbroken as it pressed its hand more firmly against his leg meaningfully. It bounced it's curly tail on the ground, dipping its head at him slightly. After a few moments, Judas nodded, not entirely certain what the squirtle had said or was trying to tell him but aware all the same that it was meaningful and that it had something to do with it.... with it having confidence in him? Or telling him to keep to the task at hand? It was assuring him somehow though, he knew that much that it was telling him not to fret about it. Something in the tranquil nature of the turtle.... Perhaps he was wrong entirely, but it was what he could guess. And regardless of the accuracy of that guess, he felt better for it. A thought occured to him as he studied his new partner and starter. "You don't have a name yet do you? Or.... I suppose if you did I vould not know it and you could not tell me it anyvays.... how vould..." He paused, drifting off a moment in thought before settling one with a soft smile. "How vould Hippocrates sound?"
The squirtle was silent several moments, then a soft thump of its tail on the dirt and the slightest incline of its head confirmed agreement. "Hippocrates it is." Judas murmured, his smile spreading. "I sink it schould fit you, it once belonged to another and he vas a great thinker who studied and observed many things, making discoveries and setting up groundwork for the careful constuction of a system ve still have today." The squirtle didn't answer beyond a blink, and deciding to stop there rather then ramble further, Judas pushed himself to his feet, spending several moments brushing at the dirt off his clothing and figiting a moment re-rolling his sleeves up before taking a last quick breath and resuming his trek into the grasses of the route.

Windy, that's what it was as Judas walked along the path. The winds were being particularly vicious today, and decided to blow judas every which way, and it was even hard for his Squirtle to stand in this wind. Suddenly, it picked up even worse and a few pokemon fled into their shelters from the storm, however, a woman called out carefully- "Want to battle me kid? I'm a wanderer who battles with whatever I've caught on the path I'm on. What do you say?" This woman had curly brown hair and blue eyes, along with a blue jacket. had judas seen her soemwhere before? The woman sent out her first pokemon- "Mizuki! Spotlight!" A Brown feathered bird matirialized from the pokeball with a blue bow on it's head. "Pidgey!" The bird called out.

The future's here, it's right before your eyes
It seemed almost as though a wind began to spring from nowhere. Or perhaps Judas had merely had the better of it thus far, for it soon became apparent as he left the cover of the tree trunk and as he made his way further and further from the dirt paths of New Bark and into the grasses of route 17 that the day was not as calm as it had first seen, the cool wind slowly picking up until it was all but a gale, the grasses whipping in a furious rustling around him and streaming with the force of the air sweeping in waves through it, leaves spiraling frantically as they were torn rattling from the trees and swept from the ground in a flurry of gold and orange.
Judas' frown returned as chilly winds tugged and whipped at him. He paused a moment to dig through his bag, the thickly padded messenger bag recently made bulging with pokemon supplies giving up his coat he had packed away, the thick layers of neatly folded clothing coming unfolded as he paused, stripping his bag to the ground a moment to don it with a shiver, his agile fingers swift to fasten the buttons of the wintry garment. He was glad he had brought it along, it was one of the few things he had thought worth taking with him beyond a book and a notepad. Wrapped in it the wind barely cut through at all beyond where it lashed his cheek and hands, the warmth of the thick fabric comforting and familiar like a second padded skin, though the tails of the coat whipped about his legs as the wind snatched at it, blowing it this way and that in the fickle zephyr that had sprung up.
A glance to Judas' companion showed the sturdy little turtle braced against the buffeting wind, sapphire eyes squinted to avoid dirt flying into it's eyes. Slipping his bag over his head again, the man crouched before the pokemon, gentle concern in his eyes as he offered his hands, a silent request to carry Hippocrates in the warmth of his arms where the wind wouldn't try to bowl over the small pokemon. Dark azure eyes glanced up to meet his, unblinking and steadfast even halfway closed against the wind, then studied his hands several moments before finally shaking its head, passing the request with a flick of its tail to stand its own against the weather.
Straightening almost in rejection, a noice left Judas' through softly, but it was soon brushed off. After all, he could hardly be too hasty or harsh in judgement, he had scarcely met Hippocrates, and to expect the pokemon to be trusting of him so swiftly.... or perhaps the squirtle merely did not wish for the help regardless and wanted to stand against the wind for other reasons. As much as he might like to grow close to his partner, he barely knew anything about the water turtle, its personality only the barest sketch of a few striking details to him thus far... Could he even be surprised? Not really, he was used to it. With time.... with time.... though the circumstance was different, the base situation was, in the end, not much different then those of pokemon he had fostered and offered temporary home to was it not? A process of coming to know them and coming to gain their trust... so he would leave the squirtle to brave the weather, though blue eyes still skittered frequently over to check and watch as the pair resumed slow passage through the route.
Gusts whispered up and stormed past around them, a startled squeak of a rattata as the purple pokemon flashed past through the grass in alarm and the chirps of pidgey and spearow as they took to the trees, struggling to fly against the wind and find shelter in the comforting branches of their nests. Judas' frown deepened ever so slightly, his gaze following the flying types nervously. Was this normal or was some kind of whirlwind about to spring upon him? If not for his smaller companion he might have hastened his pace then to be to the next city before something had chance to go awry, but he kept his pace, unwilling to abandon his pokemon or make them struggle behind him. Besides, it would soon seem he was not the only one who had not yet vacated the land, a woman's voice managing to cut through the wind in greeting and challenge.
Confusion and bafflement was the first thing to cross Judas' mind as his gaze flickered to find the approaching person, a blue jacket catching the eye immediately as dark brown hair flowed in the wind, azure hues matching his own as he found her, surprised a moment to think he almost recognized her, before it was shrugged away with lack of any other real recognition. He had met plenty of people in passing, it wasn't strange to think he might have seen someone once before, he had spent many years in this region and the neighboring. Still his lips pressed in puzzlement and consternation, brows furrowed and features pulled in confused disapproval. "Kid...?" He echoed softly, clearly caught off guard and mystified by the meaning of the comment, self-consciously looking himself over as one hand brushed through his hair, fingering the paler hairs near his temple. He wasn't a kid, he was almost thirty now wasn't he?
Distracted, he might have missed entirely the rest of what she said had her words not been followed by the bright flash of her releasing a pokemon from its ball with a showy call. A pidgey, braced firmly against the wind, appeared, a bow adorning it's tan feathered head as it cried out it's own name in challenge. "A battle?" Judas echoed even softer, his confusion sliding to uncertainty. "I..." That was what trainers did wasn't it? Battled others, pitched their pokemon against one another in a test of skills, strategy, and strength. Still, the thought of open encouragement and embracement of violence towards pokemon didn't sit well with him, and he had to reason with himself that people did it all the time and more often then not it was natural and good for the pokemon to even consider not denying the request flat out in alarm. In the end it was Hippocrates who answered for him, the turtle pokemon making it's way several steps forward to stand squared off against the pidgey. Worry flashed over Judas, and instantly he was questioning and concerned. "A-ah, Hippocrates! A-are you sure about zis?" An even toned /Squir/ Answered him, firm and decided even as the pokemon's tail wagged behind it, making the squirtle seem almost scared and trying to make friendly innocent parley with the pidgey cutely.

The girl gavE A Coy smirk. Judas may not remember meeting her in reality but perhaps he'd met her in his dreams. A Dream where there were 20 types instead of 19.. The girl then smirked, "A Lower defense won't hurt us... LET'S GO MIZUKI! TACKLE!" The cream-colored bird charged forward letting off a tackle toward the Squirtle, and let out a cry. "PIDGEY!" It cried out. The brunette girl just had a smirk on her face as the hit landed. "Next!" the girl was taunting the boy now. She was having fun with this... After All, She was a nightmare dressed like a daydream. "Oh my last name is one you have ehard in dreams by the way." The girl went silent then, as she awaited the boys next move. Step by step you're on your way Welcome to a brighter day
Judas bit the inside of his lip apprehensively as Hippocrates made the first move. It was a tame start to be sure, setting the grounds for future attacks while letting the squirtle observe his opponent first to see how the other would start their attack and get a feel for what strategy, if any, they might have. Were Judas a battler he might have seen the wisdom of it, and certainly he was a strategist enough to in paper or in theory have plans such as that, but in the action he was far more distracted by the thought of his pokemon being in combat with another to give forth orders and plan out moves ahead of time. He left it entirely to his pokemon it would seem, realizing, or at least hoping, the water type knew what it was doing and had experience, or at least instinct, to guide it. Who would he be to presume he knew better how to battle then the one actually fighting anyways?
A glance up, azure eyes flashing to meet the woman's again, uncertain what to make of her coy smile and fazed by her demeanor. She seemed so sure of something, and Judas couldn't help feeling like she was acting like... like she knew him. At least, enough to be comfortable with him, though he hardly remembered anything specific beyond a thought of vague familiarity. Shaking it off with a discomforted shiver, he broke gaze quickly, only daring a quick glance up again as the woman spoke to brush off Hippocrates move and command her own pokemon forward with an attack. The pidgey gave a shrill cry as it, she, darted forward to slam her feathered body into Hippocrates, the squirtle flinching back a few steps though he had been braced firmly for the attack, stubby claws digging into the earth to absorb the majority of the blow, reverberations of the impact shivering through his shell, still soft with youth of level and not yet the hardened home and battle shield it would grow into being as he grew stronger.
Judas winced in sympathy at the blow, taking half a step forward as though to intervene, but a thump of Hippocrates tail halted his movements as the squirtle firmly gave a cry of /Squirtle!/ before bouncing back from it's retreat to advance on the pidgey. Judas fumbled helplessly as he watched, hands burying themselves in his coat to fiddle uncertainly and clench in worry, the squirtle seemingly decided on the battle and fine despite taking the first damaging shot. He could hear the girl calling to him, mocking and taunting as he gritted his teeth, shoulders slumping as he stole a glance up for a brief moment to see her smirking proudly. He felt mildly ill, out of place and unhappy thrown into this situation. He wasn't meant to be a trainer... the woman spoke again, her words baffling, Judas' features twisting even further into discomfort and bewilderment. "I don't... I-i-i" He murmured, stuttering and stumbling on his words. His dreams? What did... what did that mean? He didn't remember his dreams...
Hippocrates charged the pidgey, the turtle slower maybe then the swift avian but much sturdier then the frail hollow boned flying type, and much better grounded in the wind. With a lower defense, perhaps the flying type might be at the water types mercy if he managed to land his shots in the windy weather... though at least whatever disadvantage the rough weather provided might only be worse for the bird then the turtle.

The Girl looked shocked but smiled. She was right to appere in Judas's dreams and project visions of another region. She spoke up- "Okay i admit it- you're pretty good.Perhaps one day we can train side by side i look forward to that day." The woman also looked at the boy, and noticed that The Turtle tackled her pidgey. She clapped a bit, and smirked. "So that's how it is? FINE! MIZUKI USE TACKLE!" The girl had to just keep slamming the opponent with tackles in order to win it was the only way. The girl spoke- "I do have my starter, but we wont be battling it out that much until you're much stronger, Kid. By the way what's your name?"The bird jumped forward and slammed the turtle while the turtle was stunned. She gave a cry-"Pidge!" The bird said. This was deffinatly a victory for either side as tackles would be slammed back and forth. Yep a real battle of wits. Don't you know, It feels good to be alive
A frown flashed over Judas' features a moment in doubt and uncertainty as well as what might have been a hint of denial as the women smiled, a moment of surprise seemingly washed away behind a flash of teeth and upturned lips as she smoothly praised him with suggestion sneaking in after. Recoiling internally slightly, he felt the edges of his mouth twist, not quite sure how to take the confusing person placed before his path. Why would she want to train with him, beside him? He... he barely knew her.. and how was she so sure she knew who he was and that he had seen her before? Much as he struggled to rack his mind, he could not bring together a single memory of anything significant enough to lead to not only familiarity, but this level of recognition and comfort. Brows furrowed, he felt like he was trying to pick his words carefully, treading carefully around the edged smirk of this strange woman. "I'm not sure... wh-when that day would be, madame. Despite what you... seem to th-think, I don't recognize you, I don't know who you are." He tried to soften his expression, almost apologetic about it as he let the words out, what had started as strong faltering quickly and struggling along to continue at all, a wince twitching across his features.
It felt harsh, Judas was cringing as he realized he was judging the woman off of only this passing moment of interaction, that perhaps he was being cruel being so quick to categorize. A smirk here, an eerie word there, but did he really know she was a bad person? Clearing his throat, eyes flickering away before drifting anxiously to the battle again, he tried to amend himself, hands fiddling and grasping at the folds of his coat, arms pressed against his chest. "S-sorry, I didn't mean it that way... maybe, one-" He flinched as Hippocrates slammed into the pidgey, the battle sucking in his attention as the woman clapped, a sharp smirk coming over her as she commanded her pokemon again with a fierce shout sending the bird careening towards the squirtle in the wind again.
For his own part, Hippocrates bore the attack well, expecting it as he dug himself in. It was a flow, attack, entrench, then attack again, and sure enough as soon as the bird was backwinging, wings flailing in the wind, he surged forward, pressing his advantage with the weather again, using it however he could to best the shaken flying type. Still, that didn't stop Judas from worrying, and he felt a surge of panic as the woman made mention of her own starter. She had another pokemon? He swallowed, remembering belatedly he had another as well, though he was loathe to bring poor Kent's scatterbug into this fight if he did not have to... could he live with himself to see the beloved companion of the sickly boy injured and attacked so ruthlessly? It made him sick enough to do it to Hippocrates, and the squirtle was plenty and willing able to fight of his own will anyways. Still, the woman seemed confident enough not to bring out her other pokemon this fight, and his calmed himself with a deep breath, trusting that meant this was the only fighting she meant to engage him in.
Though even as his tense shoulders eased slightly, Judas found himself gritting his teeth slightly. Again she called him kid... she did not seem very old, and certainly he looked nothing like a child, so why did she insist on calling him as such? "D-don't, s-stop... calling me that. I'm not... not a kid. My name is Judas. J-Judas Iskariot. You have yet to share yours....?" He let his sentence drift away, a gentle open inquiry hanging after a soft spoken request, the man seeming pained though he was drawing himself together and regaining himself, straightening slightly, letting his shoulders adjust back further, though his gaze was still loathe to meet the woman's.

Mabel let out a hearty laugh at how she had gotten under the boys skin. It was s easy after all- she had done it to cuntless others. Her mind games were killer. She flipped her beautiful brown hair, and smirked. "My nae is Mabel Gleeful. It's a Pleasure, Judas." The woman then looked toward the pokemon, seeing her pidgey get slammed again. She looked disturbed, and furious. "PIDGEY FIRE OFF ANOTHER TACKLE! WE MUST NOT LET THIS GO UNPUNISHED!" The Bird agreed, and dove once again toward the turtle. Meanwhile, mabel smirked at Judas. She had given her name, and now she would continue to play her mind games with him. Perhaps she would achieve victory this way. You could be larger than life Bigger than the world
Judas smiled, a cutting almost pained grimace of a smile really, more uneasy and unhappy then one of joy, as the woman laughed. He felt the itch again, the shiver on his spine, stern features going colder with misgiving and unease. Something in the woman set him off, much as he wanted to try and keep open mind he kept finding himself trying to close her off, trying to retreat from her, something in the way her words coiled around him, in the way her mood kept changing, her actions and demeanor changing too quickly from battle to conversation, from joy to smugness to friendliness. He almost wanted to ask what she wanted of him, for why else did she seem to be pursuing him so hard, pressing closer, talking of him knowing her and slipping in a comment of enjoying training with him one day even while she snarled at their battle and remained ignorant of his name? It was all... off, wrong, like something was behind this woman that he wasn't seeing.
Judas' gaze caught a moment as his attention instinctively shifted to the sharp movement of color, the woman's brown hair flipping with a smirk twisting her lips again even as she introduced herself, her wording all simple polite pleasantry. Mabel Gleeful. Perhaps, he considered as he tried not to wince at her saying it was a pleasure to meet him, seemingly unbothered or even willing to acknowledge his reaction to her suggestion or his request of her, perhaps it was better he didn't see what was behind this woman. He was not all together sure he might like what was inside. But he was judging her too fast, using what was only their first meeting and her demeanor which could not be untainted by the battle of their pokemon in the gap between them. He didn't like it, but he wouldn't be a very good person himself to let that statement and opinion hold steadfast without giving time and experience to actually form it. After all, what was he making but assumptions? Had anything she said been that cruel yet? Not so much really....
Still, the ferocity on Mabel's face a Hippocrates moved ahead, strong still and unyielding as he battered her pidgey again in another trade of blows, the anger and that curled their amidst a disturbed set of features, it made Judas waver slightly again. He wasn't sure to feel apologetic for hurting her pokemon so much or repulsed by the aggression that rose quick as a coiled snake striking. He flinched under the orders she shouted at the pidgey, azure eyes sharp as he caught her wording with a breath of surprise, instantly glancing towards Hippocrates as the turtle stubbornly pressed forward again, feeling the battle sway in his favor and not willing to lose it quite yet. "Unpunished?" He murmured, the serious frown on his lips deepening. "What do you mean unpunished? Hippocrates did nothing wrong.... you were the one who wanted to battle" His voice was soft, but the barest hint of an edge tainted it, not aggressive, merely keen, doubt crawling in and coloring his tone even as his gaze flickered away, not meeting her smirk but looking past it.
Hippocrates, shaking his head slightly as the squirtle ground himself down, planted himself, unfazed by Mabel and her games or by the hesitancy and struggles his trainer grappled with. Perhaps were Judas a different sort of trainer Mabel's games might have influenced the battle, but Hippocrates was confident enough, composed enough, and intelligent enough to command himself confidently in battle without the man. It did not make him rebellious, nor even a willful independent, merely one who could be self-sufficient if needed. Which here, it would seem to be as the pidgey rushed towards him again, his wide braced stance absorbing the blow as the bundle of feathers and muscle made contact. Unyielding even as he grunted, a stern /Squir!/ His only answer to the commands and taunts of Mabel and her pokemon, Hippocrates wasted no time attacking again before the bird could recover and retreat from it's attack.

Mabelsmirked, sort of grinned when the Man won the battle against her. She laughed even- this was what she was looking for. A Real challenge. Yes, she would have to battle this trainer again sometime somewhere... to see just how much he has grown. She smiled and left him 2,000 poke and a Single Great Ball. "I hope to battle you again one day, Judas. You seem interesting." After that, she walked away from the scene smiling. Yeah she had found an amazing potential rival.
