While Terri had turned her attention to healing her newly-evolved Staravia, the battle between the Exeggcute and her Snubbull continued. But with Terri's attention busy healing Edwina, the Pokemon breeder decided it was her own chance to have her Pokemon heal a bit of HP. "Alright, Exeggcute!" Beth called out to her Pokemon. "Let's heal yourself up a little bit! Use Moonlight!" Although it wasn't quite clear at all where the Exeggcute had even gotten the moonlight to heal off of right outside of the Pokemon Center in daylight, it still gave the Pokemon a good chance to heal up back to full health. Maybe it had used the sun, as there were not any clouds to be seen anywhere in the sky to block the sun from view on the clear day. "Good job!" Beth said to her Pokemon and then turned her attention to the newly-recruited member of Team Rocket. "My exeggcute and I won't be going down without a good fight! Our bond is like none other!" Beth smiled energetically while still being very focused on the exciting battle at hand and awaited Terri's Snubbel's next attack. The battle commencing right outside of the Pokemon Center had appeared to gain a few watchers, as Pokemon trainers waiting for their own Pokemon to heal began to watch the battle as well as others. It gave the battle a more lively feel. "We got this Exeggcute, hang in there." Trainer Battle Weather Status: Normal Beth's Exeggcute | Level 18 | Chlorophyll Health : 100% (55/55 HP)Status : -1 Attack. Used Moonlight! She wondered if this battle had been a bad idea. This Breeder possibly had more tricks than she did. Now that Exeggcute was back to full health, she was starting to have doubts she could pull this off.
"Bite! Ollin use Bite!" she announced suddenly, realising that her Pokémon was standing scratching his head. Her next actions would decide the outcome of the battle. She couldn't let herself get down yet. She'd just been invited to join Team Rocket and she was determined to keep up her reputation.
Beth's confidence was beginning to annoy her. Terri didn't want to hear her bragging about her bond with her Exeggcute. Holding her tongue was challenging when she was so worked up but she knew if she lost focus now, she was finished. She'd have to keep her comments about the Exeggcute to herself.

Now that her Exeggcute had been healed to full health Beth was feeling quite a bit more confident about the situation she was now in. She had to make up for being down one Pokemon and because Ollin was not healed she knew the Snubbull would go down with one final Psychic attack. If she could even out the numbers by doing so she saw no drawback in doing just that as she ordered the egg Pokemon to attack. " Ok Exeggcute, time to turn this battle in our favor with one more Psychic attack. If my gut is right it should do enough damage to knock out Snubbull before it can strike again." She said as the egg Pokemon started to bounce around building up the required energy to strike. Ollin knew he was in serious trouble and tried to make a break for the egg Pokemon before it could strike but he was just a few seconds too late as a veil of blue psychic energy surrounded him. He was lifted off the ground by the attack and sent flying into a tree knocking him out cold without so much as a whimper and forcing Terri to send out Edwina as her final Pokemon. Beth was thrilled by the sight as now they were on equal footing and her Pokemon had the stronger attacks of the two allowing it to make up for the type disadvantage. Even so she knew if she got cocky it might end up costing her the chance at a comeback so she stayed modest as she spoke again. " Your Snubbull put up a really good fight, had it not been for my Exeggcute's Psychic I think I would have already lost. It looks like we are each on our final Pokemon so lets see who will edge it out in the end. I will not hold back now that I have a real chance of making a comeback and I hope you will give it your all as well." Exeggcute stood ready to battle very eagerly as it could feel that a victory was so close as long as it did not run into a bout of terrible luck in the next round. As expected, Ollin wasn't quick enough to get an attack in before fainting. Terri's chest actually hurt as she watched the Psychic energy plow him into a tree. Maybe this was what people meant by having a bond with their Pokémon.
Terri was raging internally. Her forehead vein was bulging and her face was starting to turn a shade of red. She retrieved Ollin's Poké Ball and recalled him without saying a word. Her hand was trembling. Edwina watched nervously, fully aware that her trainer was about to explode. "Geddout there birdbrain and crush that ugly-ass excuse for a Pokémon! Wing Attack!" she roared.
She glared at Beth. "An' you. Enough abou' yer bond. This ain't over yet!" Although the odds weren't in her favour, Terri was determined to win this. Currently, both trainers had one Pokémon remaining at full health. Exeggcute was stronger but Edwina was quicker. Although she could use the speed to her advantage, she'd also need some luck to win this.

With both trainers having Pokemon at full health and one Pokemon remaining, the battle was beginning to get tight. Any mistake or slip-up at this point in the fight could cause either side the win. It was a type of close battle that would bring any audience to the end of their seats, even if the trainers were not very well-renowned to the people watching. Many of the trainers watching the battle outside of the Pokemon Centre watched very intently at this point. Hearing the trainer call her Exeggcute an "ugly-ass excuse for a Pokemon", the Pokemon Breeder grew a little frustrated with the attitude of Terri, and much more frustrated with the way she was talking about her Exeggcute. Beth looked down at her Exeggcute, with the insult the trainer had said stuck in her mind. "I personally find my "ugly-ass excuse of a Pokemon" Exeggcute very cute," the slightly-offended and angry Pokemon breeder said to Terri. It was unusual for Beth to use a curse word like that, but she wanted to protect her Pokemon from whatever insult the trainer could throw at them. Because her and her Pokemon were better together. As partners. "And my Exeggcute is very strong! So I'd watch what you say. We'll show you how strong we are together!" Beth was completely reliant on the bond between her and her Pokemon, even if it did annoy Terri. While Beth was too busy being angry about Terri's attitude towards her Exeggcute, however, she had allowed the trainer's Staravia to land a perfect Wing Attack on her Exeggcute, dealing quite a bit of damage to it. The Exeggcute still hung in the fight though. "You're doing great, Exeggcute!" Beth was proud of her Pokemon for how well it had fought so far in the battle, and hoped it could continue to put up a good fight against the Flying-typed Pokemon. "You can handle it, hang in there! Let's hit the Staravia with a Stun Spore attack now~ See how it does with a bit of Paralysis." The Exeggcute failed to land the attack on the Flying-type Pokemon, however, and that could be just the slip-up that would allow Terri to win the battle. Trainer Battle vs Pokemon Breeder Beth! A small crowd had formed around them, putting more pressure on Terri to come out on top. Beth was clearly strong but she dressed like such a loser and spoke in a way that made her seem less impressive than she actually was. With so many witnesses around, she had to win.
Both trainers were seemingly worked up now. Beth wasn't too pleased with Terri's description of her Exeggcute. As the Breeder retaliated with a short rant, her Pokémon's failed to land its attack. Terri's rage subdued a little as she saw a small glimmer of hope. "Girl, I can't say I'm surprised that you think its cute, lookin' at that bandana..." she scoffed, hoping she could continue to distract her opponent.
Edwina was silent but very attentive. For the first time since she'd been captured, Terri was actually relying on her. The Staravia was certain that this battle could change it all and Terri would be left with a newfound respect for her. "A'right Edwina, try another Wing Attack!"

A bit more color went into Beth's cheeks as the next insult came from the dark haired trainer. She had picked up on this rought-around-the-edges bit Terri had initially, what with the nickname she'd apparently given her staravia. But once Ollin had been switched out she had a different sense about her and the pleasantries from the first round of battle had been swept from the breeder's mind. It appeared that Ollin's defeat had really set Terri off though. Whether this out lash was from inexperience dealing with faints or a weakness of her own it wasn't for Beth to say, but what was clear was Terri had a long ways to go along her journey. The breeder's hands, having been on her apron earlier as if the contact would help ease her, clenched the fabric tightly. Like a stress ball she wrung her attire in order to keep her head clearer. It'd do no one any good to lose her own cool here. It was obvious Terri was just trying to get under her skin now, moving from insults of her less popular pokémon to her person instead. Sad to say the aggressive trainer's tactics had already started to work given the last round. Terri had already called for Edwina to attack while Beth struggled inwardly. The command brought a renewed sense of urgency. "Don't you mind her Exeggcute, you have your own opponent right there so focus on the staravia." Her grass type let out a chorus of affirmative grunts. "Use Psychic."By the time her instruction had been called Edwina was already on the move to gain altitude. Exeggcute was only just building up energy when the avian adjusted into a dive and sped her way over to her enemy. Wings shining, she swept over the egg-shaped pokémon bundle but only managed to crack against a couple of them. Most had rolled over in time to narrowly avoid the brush of Edwina's attack, and with that roll they were in prime position to take aim as the bird passed over and turned her back to them. Just as she broke into the turn to circle her way back to Terri the psychic wave was unleashed. A solid hit, broadsiding Edwina and knocking her from the sky. Luckily she didn't have far to fall, but it still smarted. She did well to recover as swiftly as possible; to not show any weakness if she could manage such a thing. Her rise back to her feet was a little shaky at first, quiet huffs accompanying, but once her talons were firmly planted in the ground she was good and steady. Exeggcute on the other hand wasn't looking too well. Half the egg conglomerate hadn't bothered to roll back upright after Edwina's attack. "Hang in there Exeggcute," Beth spoke in comfort, trying to ease her pokémon's pains with the extended effort. As much as she'd like to put this rude girl in her place it was pretty clear how the next round was going to go for the breeder and her team. If you see me comin' down the street... ... You know it's time to go.
Beth's confidence and constant bragging had annoyed Terri from the beginning. The teenager's success in tormenting her was incredibly satisfying. The end of the battle was near and Terri's stress levels were overwhelming. People watched from all directions, judging the two trainers and their actions. If she wanted their respect, she couldn't mess this up.
Edwina's speed was a saving grace. Her Wing Attack was quite effective but even so, the grass-type managed to hold on. Terri's heart raced as it struck back with Psychic. She took a long breath, relieved to see that Edwina had been able to recover from the hit. This was it. Neither Pokémon looked like they could withstand another attack. She'd have to hope that the Staravia could pull it off.
Her insults finally came to a halt as the trainer attempted to clear her head. From what she understood, this would be the final round. The battle had really given Edwina a chance to shine. Although it seemed appropriate, Terri decided against a quick pep talk. She needed to move fast and without confusing her Pokémon with too many words.
"Edwina, finish 'em off with a Wing Attack!" She tried to maintain a brave face and shake any existing signs of self-doubt. She didn't want to jump to conclusions too early but it did look like the odds were in her favour, if only very slightly.

The breeder wrung her apron even more. There was nothing she could do. She knew it. The bird was faster and with such a keen eye there was no hope of Edwina missing. A faint smile crossed Beth's face. Despite it all, despite how crude a fashion this woman presented, her pokémon were without a doubt well trained. It may not be the way the kind hearted breeder would choose to raise her own pokémon, not by a long shot, but it was undoubtedly a method that still garnered respect. Through all of Terri's harsh words and seemingly cold commanding tone the staravia was still putting forward 110% and not out of fear. "Hold up Exeggcute, we can--" The rest of her words caught in her throat, Edwina having already swooped over her partner to deal the final blow. The eggs were pretty much helpless as the attack hit, sending the batch tumbling along and breaking formation around Beth's feet. She gasped and dropped to her knees to pull them all toward her. "Don't you worry, I'll get you all fixed up right away." The girl smiled kindly down to her fainted pokémon and recalled it. With a quiet sigh she rose back to her feet and assumed a more stern visage to face the victor of their battle. She didn't know if she could muster the words to conclude their match in her usual manner, but she worked up the courage anyway. "Looks like that type advantage really did come in handy," she began, recalling the more pleasant part of their battle; at least for her. "But you won fair and square so..."She pulled out a couple things from her wrinkled attire: a green TM and an earthy seed. Given Terri's pokémon of choice the pair of items were probably super exciting for her. A thought that helped bring a more genuine smile to her face as she presented them proudly. "To the victor, the spoils." Beth chuckled for a second, letting it set for a moment before pulling out a bit of cash in addition. "I must attend to my pokémon. Safe travels Terri." VICTORY!
Edwina grew to LV 20! She would like to learn Endeavor; forget an old move? Breeder Beth was defeated! She gave Terri £1200, TM09 Bullet Seed, and a Miracle Seed

OOC: Edwina should forget Tackle for Endeavor, please.
If you see me comin' down the street... ... You know it's time to go.
The battle had been long and stressful but somehow worth it. Terri had never felt more relieved. Despite one minor outburst, she'd really kept her temper under control. Battling with Beth had taught her not to underestimate her opponent. She needed to have strategies if she wanted to keep winning.
Terri hadn't spoken in a while as her brain tried to process the victory. Luckily, Beth beat her to the first word so she didn't throw out any further insults. The Breeder seemed graceful in her loss. Had it been the other way around, things would probably not have gone so smoothly. Terri should have felt bad for how she'd treated her but the obnoxious bragging had really put her off.
To her surprise, Terri was presented with an interesting reward. She wasn't sure how respond to this generosity after such a brutal battle. "......Good ....battle." Taking a short glimpse of her winnings, she placed them inside her bag. She watched as the crowd dispersed and Beth approached the Pokémon Center. She then came to the realisation that if she hadn't won, she would have had to visit the Pokémon Center too. This really wasn't an option for her after the incident in Violet City.
Terri snapped out of her thoughts and decided to get back to reality. The biggest shock out of all of this was that Edwina had more or less won it alone. The Staravia had majorly improved since her evolution. Terri would probably have to lay off the constant criticisms now that the flying-type seemed more powerful than Ollin.
Terri slowly approached Edwina. She knelt down next to her, noticing how exhausted the bird was. She had intended to say something nice but as she made eye contact, she felt incredibly awkward. She'd hated Edwina since their first encounter where she'd mistakenly blamed her for the actions of some other wild Starly.
"Ya didn't mess up this time." Terri muttered, struggling to keep eye contact. She reached for Edwina's Poké Ball and recalled her. As the she returned to her Poké Ball, the Staravia's eyes lit up with joy. She had received her first compliment from her trainer. Finally, she was making progress.
Now, she was certain that it was time to leave Route 32. She slowly made her way to the entrance of Union Cave, letting out a huge sigh. "Let's make this quick..." She placed her hand on the wall of the cave to help navigate as she ventured inside.

There wasn't too much activity in the cave today; at least along Terri's path. The tunnels were quiet save for the occasional drip from the ceiling and the soft echoes of her own footsteps. The soft crunch of tiny pebbles grinding against the hard stone floor as she went had a nice continual ambience in the cave, along with the soft lights setup to mark the main path through to the next town: Azalea. Terri would finally be able to put some distance between her and the Violet Pokécentre. Though no doubt word would spread soon enough of the robbery it would become a game of telephone; and everyone knows how that game goes. The solitude of the long cavern was refreshing, but nothing nice ever lasts too long. A squeak ebbed its way down the stone hall. Brief, and easily missed when deep in thought, but it happened again shortly after. Soon a flutter of wing would make its way after. Only one thing made such noises together: a bat. Such a guess was solid, as the small figure of a Zubat would come into view. But where one would usually be looking high, this little one had decided to fly low for whatever reason. It was in line with Terri's shoulders and fast approaching. Another squeak trickled through the cave swiftly followed up by a startled cry from the airborne pokémon. It slowed to an abrupt stop and hovered in place, calling its name louder and sterner -- awaiting an answer. Well, at least this should be quick. A wild Zubat appeared! (LV 11) Will Terri fight it?

If you see me comin' down the street... ... You know it's time to go. Union Cave connected Violet City to Azalea Town, which meant it was an essential part of a rookie trainer's journey. Therefore, it was of little interest to Terri as she knew nothing exciting would cross her path. She had a map of Johto buried somewhere in her bag but instead relied on the dimly-lit walls to lead her to the exit.
The silence was a nice contrast from the hectic city she'd recently left. Caves were disliked by large number of trainers. There tended to be a lot less people inside, most only venturing inside when absolutely necessary. She supposed the darkness and closed space could be a little claustrophobic but it had never bothered her. As an experienced athlete and outdoorsy-type, she was able to move swiftly through the tunnel.
Now that Edwina had proven her competence, her trainer was finally ready to begin her missions as a Team Rocket member. The only Pokémon she was uncertain about was Ollin, after a poor performance in their last battle. However, she still had a soft spot for the clumsy Snubbull and wouldn't hold it against him.
She'd made a lot of progress without bumping into anyone or anything. The cries of familiar Pokémon could be heard nearby but Terri had managed to avoid direct contact so far. She knew this couldn't go on much longer though and soon something much louder approached. The stood still and glanced around, spotting a Zubat moving in her direction.
"Damn Zubat, shoulda guessed..." she muttered, reaching for her Snubbull's Poké Ball. "Ollin, get out here and get 'em with a Thunderbolt." She was familiar with the bat Pokémon from her time in Hoenn. It was pretty useless as far as she was concerned but at least it would provide Ollin with a some quick experience points.
Ollin emerged from his Poké Ball, a few feet away from the bat. The winged Pokémon was clearly inexperienced to the fairy-type's relief. Ollin fixed his glasses as his cheeks began to spark. This would be easy.

Terri's old companion Ollin leapt into combat, bringing another loud squeak out of Zubat by way of acknowledging what it would be fighting. The Zubat's wings fluttered more rapidly as it began to motor forward, trying to get the first strike in. Much to its surprise, the clumsy Snubbull in front of it was actually faster. Ollin took a single, powerful step as his body sparked with electricity. Hearing the crackling, Zubat froze in place. It would appear that the Flying type knew that sound. Either that or Ollin's small amount of movement was enough to make it lose some of that earlier fighting spirit. Either way, it would be losing a little more than that in just a few seconds. Ollin's body roared thunderously as his Electric attack arced toward Zubat, frying it just a moment later. The Zubat squealed and squirmed as the lightning coursed through its body before suddenly falling silent and dropping to the ground.
Congratulations! Zubat is KOd! Ollin gained a level, reaching Level 19! Ollin would like to learn Headbutt! Should he?

If you see me comin' down the street... ... You know it's time to go.
The encounter with Zubat could hardly be considered a battle. As expected, one Thunderbolt had sent it tumbling to the ground. "Keep movin', kiddo." Terri gestured for the Snubbull to follow her. There was no reason to hang around. Ollin's attack was bound to attract some attention as bright flashes were not a common occurrence in a cave like this.
For a few moments, the cave seemed more lively. Murmurs and footsteps could be heard from all directions, though wasn't clear if they were fleeing or investigating the scene. The shuffling soon died down, however, and the pair began to make steady progress once more.
Ollin's bad eyesight didn't fare well in the darkness. He waddled frantically after his trainer, struggling to keep to the same pace. It wasn't until she heard his heavy panting that Terri turned around. "We're gonna have to get ya into shape." She shook her head and smiled, lifting the fairy-type from the ground. "We'll work on it later. Let's get outta this miserable place."
Luckily, the end of the tunnel wasn't far. After turning a few more corners, she noticed some natural light. She carefully scanned the exit to ensure she wouldn't encounter any trainers as stealthily made her way outside.
Route 33 was basic but the natural light was refreshing. Surprisingly, there didn't seem to be too many trainers about. She had assumed this would be the typical spot to train before the gym. But since she wanted to save her energy for her battle with Bugsy, she didn't care to question it. Already, she could tell that this route was much more straightforward than the previous one. They'd arrive in Azalea Town in no time.
