An enlightened journey

[Marchbaby]

Upon hearing a new estate had opened near route 31 and Marchbaby just had to go and pay a visit. As he walked along the route he saw the dirt path mentioned in the directions he had received from the estate owner and he started to follow the path as he started to look for the Grassy Meadow just outside the Enlightened Forest. " According to the instructions I was given this dirt path should lead us to the first part of the estate with the rest of a estate a short walk away. By the sound of things the meadow is full of flora and fauna and it is the only way we can get deeper into the estate. I am very curious to see which Pokemon call that area home." He said as Vör walked along side him.

The rest of his Pokemon would probably get filthy walking on the path so he kept them in their Pokeballs until they got to an area that was not covered in so much dirt. After walking for a bit the dirt path started to look more and more like the meadow mentioned in the directions as more flowers, trees and various other plants started appearing alongside the path until he could hardly tell there was a path at all. Even so he kept walking in the direction he thought the path was heading in when he started hearing noises all around him. He had no doubts he was in the right area now but the trouble was finding his way through the meadow so he could reach the deeper areas without getting himself into too much trouble.

" I do not think we are alone but that must be a good sign, the instructions did say a lot of Pokemon live in the meadow and since the construction ended only a short while ago I bet the Pokemon are still kind of rowdy to strangers here so we might run into a few who want to battle." He said as Vör popped her paws ready for a fight only for Alpha and Kamikaze to pop out of their Pokeball's as well looking to get a few battles in as well. Given the fact that he had never been in these neck of the woods before he figured having those two on top of Vör out would be a bit safer than just Vör so instead of getting made he was rather thankful that they both decided to travel with him.

" I guess given our location safety in numbers cannot be a bad thing so feel free to stay and help out." As he finished giving his approval the noises around him grew closer and closer as he waited to see what would pay them a visit first.

As Marchbaby and his Pokemon had entered the new estate through the Grassy Meadows, little did they know that they were being followed. The culprit? None other than a very little surskit. It kept its distance behind them, ducking under the grass whenever the Pokemon thought that perhaps the trainer or his Pokemon would look back here. The Surskit was curious about the blue and black Fighting-type Pokemon. The Lucario was a Pokemon like the little Surskit had never seen before, in the Grassy Meadows where it had been for its entire life. Even before the area was called Grassy Meadows by its owner.

It walked up and finally got the courage to approach the trainer and his Pokemon and tilted its head as it did so, very curiously. "Surskit?" The Pokemon looked at Vör.

The Surskit did not seem like it was a huge threat to Marchbaby or Vör but rather curious. Marchbaby had seen a few Surskit before on his journey but this one was quite a bit stronger than the ones he had seen before which made this one an interesting encounter. If he could get lucky enough to capture it it should not be very hard to evolve at all and he could always use another Pokemon for all the breeding plans going through his mind. He got down on one knee and looked at Surskit before talking to it hoping the bug would not attack him out of the blue while he was trying to be nice. " Hello there little Surskit, I see you are a rather curious Pokemon, I guess you would have not seen many trainers before and certainly not a  Lucario." He said as Vör watched the bug carefully.

As Marchbaby continued to look at the young bug he could not shake the idea of trying to capture it due to its high level and so he grabbed a Net Ball from his backpack before speaking to the bug again hoping he could convince it to come along with him. " Surskit I can tell you are a pretty high level for your species and I would love to work with you if you would like to come along with me. I have a number of bug type Pokemon that would be good friends with you and with a bit of training I might be able to help you evolve so you will be able to defend yourself better." As he paused to look back at Vör she continued to watch the bug ready to strike if it attacked before Marchbaby could convince it to come along with him. She was not going to take any chances as she did not want to see Marchbaby get harmed and Surskit was a high enough level that it could be quite dangerous.

" Be careful around that Surskit, it might be cute but it could strike at any moment. If you are going to capture it I advise you do so quickly." Marchbaby knew she was right as Surskit was known for being somewhat timid and he did not want to miss his chance. " Surskit if you want to come along with me this is your chance, go Net Ball capture that Surskit." He said as the ball flew towards Surskit.


OOC: Vör is sent out but instead of attacking Marchbaby tosses out a Net Ball. Updating the ball myself.

The trainer was right in his prediction that the Surskit had never seen such a Pokemon. The aura of power that surrounded Marchbaby's Lucario seemed strong from even afar, and the bond between the two even stronger. Strong enough to lure the Surskit out of hiding and into following the duo. As the trainer bent down though, the Surskit instinctively backed up. It slowly and carefully aproached back to where Marchbaby had knelt down to it. As the trainer talked to the Pokemon, it began to wonder what it would be like to travel along with the trainer and his mighty Lucario. It began to have thoughts of how much stronger it could become when it evolved along with Marchbaby and his other Pokemon's company. The thoughts of an adventure with them made Surskit excited, as most of the time it had spent in the Enlightened Forest, it had been lonely. A lot of the other Pokemon didn't like playing with the 'weird' bug-type Pokemon.

Whether the means of the wild Surskit really were that of a more devious sort(as the Lucario brought up) than it seemed or not, Marchbaby and his Pokemon would leave no chances. Before the high-leveled Surskit could even show more depth of its inner personality, it found itself inside a blue, white, and black Pokeball, flown out of the trainer's hand.

The ball would only produce one wiggle before the Surskit felt it was relaxed and the ball let out an audible ting! It knew it would be safe from harm and it would grow stronger with Marchbaby. Maybe even make some more friends. It was a feeling that the Surskit relished - A feeling that made the caught Pokemon excited for the future with its new teammates.

Marchbaby sorry for the super late response!

As soon as the Net Ball clicked shut Marchbaby breathed a huge sigh of relief as he knew that Vör would benefit greatly from the victory and that the victory also brought them one step closer to exploring the rest of the new estate. " Great job Vör, we captured that Surskit without any issues. You got a nice chunk of experience there as well and that will be a huge help as you continue to train. If we encounter any more Pokemon we do not have it will just be a bonus but either way this visit is already paying off quite nicely." He said as Vör stretched out as they got ready to find the path that would take them closer to the rest of the estate.

" I do hope the next battle is a bit more of a challenge but that was quite an exciting capture, that Surskit was pretty high level compared to most of the Pokemon I have battled. If the other Pokemon around here are about the same level I should be ready for my next gym battle pretty soon." She said as she hoped to get strong enough to battle her first gym leader soon. As they walked down a flowery path they could hear the cries of numerous Pokemon off in the distance and decided to investigate to buy time until they found the path forward. As they approached the source of the cries Vör got ready to battle again.

" I will wait to strike until we know what we are up against but I am ready to attack the minute you give me the order. I just really hope it is something we can make stronger like that Surskit so we can both gain a new ally and increase my power at the same time." As she stood by and waited for Marchbaby to give the order to attack he looked towards a patch of flowers as he heard a noise coming from them. " I think our next opponent is in that patch of flowers over there, once I know what it is I will let you know whether or not to attack." With his standby orders given he watched Vör knowing that she would not hesitate to attack whatever was hiding in the flowers as soon as it jumped out unless it was a Pokemon he still needed to capture.

The Pokemon that leaped out of the grass was not one that perhaps the two trainers were expecting. From out of the grass leaped a large green, round Pokemon. It jumped higher into the air, and its ears flapped as it came to land in front of Marchbaby and his Lucario. It carried a smile on its face. Even if it was a higher-leveled Pokemon as it seemed to be, that definitely did not mean it was an older Pokemon. The playful smile it gave towards Vör and her trainer made it seem pretty obvious.

"Skiploom!" Someone yelled from across the grass. "Where did you wander to now?" The voice sounded like one from a young girl, and as the girl approached it would be obvious that that was the case. "Oh there you are Skiploom! Why are you always wandering off? I don't want you to get lost out here!" The big green Pokemon turned towards the young girl. "Skiploom!" "Oh Skippy, I can't think about ever losing you. That's scary."

Now with the girl there, she noticed March and his Lucario. "Oh," she said with "Skippy" at her side, "Would you like to battle? My name is Anna, and Skippy and I make a great team!" She smiled, knowing that her and Skippy would put up a great fight against the Lucario, no matter how strong the Pokemon and his trainer looked. "Oh come on, we may look very young and playful, but that doesn't mean we are weak or unexperienced! Together we can do it! I know that together, Skippy and I, we can do anything we do anything our hearts desire to do! We are a perfect team. So what do you say?"

"Will you battle us?"

Seeing a Skiploom jump out of the grass and land in front of Marchbaby was about the last thing he had expected to see. Though they were known for being around flowers the friendliness of this particular Skiploom was a bit off and sure enough just before he could start a battle with it he could hear the voice of a fellow trainer. After Anna appeared from the grass and introduced herself Marchbaby responded by introducing himself. " It would seem my hunch is right, that friendly Skiploom does have a trainer. My name is Marchbaby and this here is Vör. I would be quite happy to battle with you as we were hoping to do some training while looking for Pokemon to capture." He said as Vör got ready for battle.

Just before he could say another word however Kamikaze popped out of her Pokeball hoping that she could face the grass type Pokemon instead as she had not been in a battle for a while. Though it was not his original plan he knew she still needed more training as well and she might fare a bit better than Vör in this particular instance. " I totally understand how looks can be deceiving, as a dragon tamer apprentice I have seen many trainers fight well at every age so I have no doubt that you will be a worthy opponent." As he looked over at Kamikaze for a moment the weasel extended her claws hoping to get the battle started. Though he still hoped to chat a bit more he had no issue with getting the battle underway to try and keep the dark type amused.

" Speaking of appearances Kamikaze here was once a poor little Sneasel who was in pretty rough shape when I saved her and her mother from a poacher. she did not look anywhere near as intimidating as she does now. After raising her however she is now quite skilled at defending herself as well as helping to raise my younger Pokemon." Kamikaze knew he was about to finally give the attack order and stood ready to strike, she was not going to waste any time in delivering the first blow knowing how fast Skiploom could be if the wind was just right. " I think now is the perfect time to get things started, Kamikaze start off with a Feint Attack and then we will see where we stand after that." Kamikaze then sped towards Skippy trying to get the first strike of the match.

The mighty foe the picnicker and her Skiploom had hoped to face was replaced by an equally as mighty foe. The foe would be a Weavile. As Anna listened to Marchbaby talk, She seemed amazed and impressed at the fact that he was a dragon tamer apprentice. March had the strong Pokemon it seemed to back that up. Skippy meanwhile didn't seem to impressed. He was eager to get the battle going as he bounded around excitedly, enjoying the slight breeze that currently blew through the Grassy Meadows area of the estate.
The weather that set the backdrop for the battle was beautiful - not a cloud in sight and a seemingly perfect temperature - with just a slight breeze adding to the scene. The breeze felt wonderful to Skippy and most likely any other Pokemon or human that got the gift of the same weather.

March's story of how he saved his Weavile was very compelling to the young picnicker, and made Anna see a lot more of Marchbaby's true personality. "That is so nice and wonderful of you!" The young girl said to him. "I can't imagine what could've happened to her had you not saved her from the poacher, or what she might've become! That is amazing that you saved her, and she clearly has been raised well by you!" Anna gave a joyous smile in March's direction.

"Right!" Anna said with March's initiation of the battle. "Let's put the Weav-" Anna was cut off as Kamikaze's speed came wickedly fast towards her Skiploom, dealing a good deal of damage and sending the Skiploom into the air. It was obvious that the Skiploom had been dealt a large deal of damage, but it still stuck in the battle. He somewhat-gracefully glided back to its position, more focused now on the battle at hand and waiting on his orders from his trainer. "Are you okay!?!" Anna shouted worriedly at her Pokemon. A nod and a "Skiploom!" was all Anna needed to hear to know that Skippy was nowhere near finished with the fight yet.

"Quick Skippy!" Anna yelled, determination to win the fight filling her mind and blocking out any unrelated thoughts not regarding the fight. "Put the Weavile to sleep with a Sleep Powder attack! They may be strong Skippy, but by golly we can do this!" Skippy hopped over towards Weavile and sprayed into the air the powdery substance that would hopefully put the Weavile to sleep. It was obvious to Anna and her Pokemon partner that the attack had landed successfully. "Awesome, great job Skippy ~ We got this! As long as we don't give up, we can succeed in anything!"

At first things went well for Marchbaby as Kamikaze scored a big hit on Skiploom causing significant damage though not quite enough to end the battle in a single hit. What came next was quite unexpected however as instead of using a damaging move Anna had resorted to a quite effective status move to quickly make Kamikaze's speed useless. " Well that was certainly not a move I expected to see but if did work quite well." As Marchbaby went over his options he remembered having a single Awakening in his bag and he felt this would be a good time to take advantage of the item to get Kamikaze back in the fight. It would cost him a turn but it might just be worth the risk.

" Here Kamikaze this Awakening will put you back in the fight, this battle is far from over but being asleep will not help make it any quicker." As he sprayed the weasel with the Awakening she quickly woke up surprised by how effective Sleep Powder was. Now that she was awake Marchbaby turned to face Anna again  trying to learn more about her and maybe lure her into making a mistake of her own in the process. " That Skiploom really is quite a fighter, did you happen to catch it as a Hoppip or was it a Skiploom when you captured it? Either way you have put a lot of effort into raising it." Shortly after he asked about Skippy Kamikaze was quite eager to try her luck again as she wanted to win this battle before anything else could go wrong.

She tugged at Marchbaby's shirt with her razor sharp claws nearly ripping it as he looked down at the determined Weavile and knew she was not going to allow as much chit chat as he would like. As much as he wanted to keep talking for a while he chose to give her the order to attack again still worrying that things might still go wrong even with his strategic use of Awakening. " Alright Kamikaze I guess you want to get back to the action so let's try our luck again. Use Feint Attack again and let's hope nothing else goes wrong." Kamikaze was very pleased to receive her orders as she wanted revenge for the sneaky attack Skiploom had resorted to, if she had her way it was going to face her full wrath this time.

Darn it! Anna thought to herself. The Sleep Powder move she had Skippy use would likely have been her only hope, but it would seem March and his strong Weavile had come prepared for such an attack."We have put in a lot of work together and we spend a lot of time playing and bonding together, making our friendship stronger, strong enough to lead us anywhere!" Anna responded to March's comment about her Skippy. "We became friends while I was a lot younger and he was just a Hoppip. I was lonely and then he was there for me when I didn't have anybody else. We only grew from there!"

But as it would seem, their friendship wouldn't win this battle for them. With one big Feint Attack hit, Skippy fell from its flight onto the ground, knocked out from the very strong hit. "Skippy!" Anna worriedly yelled towards her Pokemon. "Come back, rest up Skippy. You fought hard." She called her Skiploom back to its Pokeball after the fight had been concluded.

"That certainly is a strong Weavile you have there, and the way you lead your Pokemon is amazing. It was very nice to meet you, but I should probably hurry off to heal Skippy up and let him rest at the Pokemon Center. Thank you for battling me, it was an impressive showing you gave!" and with that, Anna smiled at March and then began heading towards the Pokemon Center with her Skiploom in its ball.

Marchbaby gains £250 for defeating Picnicker Anna!

Having finished an interesting battle with Picnicker Anna Marchbaby was looking forward to getting back on track looking for a Pokemon known to inhabit the area to pass some time until they were able to find the right path to the next area. Kamikaze had done well in her battle but like so many of the other Pokemon on his team she had reached the next gyms level cap giving him a very small selection of Pokemon he could still use in search of the Pokemon he was after. Both Pokemon knew at least one move capable of doing normal damage to the Pokemon he was after but he still could not afford to run into too many more battles.

" We are really pushing our luck with how many of you are at the level cap, if we do not find the Pokemon we are after soon we might have to come back after our next gym battle." As he secretly started to dread the idea of searching the area again at a later date Marchbaby hoped he would get lucky in time as the Pokemon he was hoping to catch would be a great Pokemon to breed moves onto. " Oh would you look at that the sun is starting to go down, that might work in our favor as the species we are after can see better in the night."

As the moon started to rise Vör tried to use her aura powers to predict what might be ahead so they could get ready to strike. If they ran into a Pokemon they were not after Marchbaby would have to make a tough decision as to which Pokemon he would use to avoid going over the level cap. With that in mind he really hoped he would have better luck than the last encounter. " Come on out little friends, I do not have much time left before I must leave and I would love to take one of you home with me." As his kind words tried to lure out a Pokemon Vör and Alpha were ready to strike.

Alpha just had to put its two cents in as it started to scan the area. " If my readings are correct we will need a bit of luck to find what we are after. I have no doubts it will be very useful to us indeed if we manage to somehow run into the one Pokrmon here that we could really use." It then turned to face Vör wondering if either would detect the Pokemon they were after.
