Anthony guffawed when Venom talked with resentment against steel types and waved his hand dismissively of him when he apologized for letting others see him angry. "I'm certain Jasmine agrees with you, just say fire types instead, and Falkner if you put electric pokmeon in as the opponent," the hiker pointed out kindly. "All pokemon has a type they are weak to and it just shows that some trainers has low confidence if they only dare to challenge a gym leader with pokemon that has such great advantage as steel types has above poison types. Have you thought that they might be so scared of Koga and Janine that they don't dare use anything else than steel type? And that their mocking is to hide their nervousness?" Anthony asked with a wink. He had heard a lot of times where trainers had lost to Bugsy's bugs after having underestimated them and then only dared to try again with a bunch of birds. "So how are you going to train with their weaknesses? By getting them to be able to endure more hits of the type they are weak against, or by teaching them water, dark and fire moves?" Anthony asked with a chuckle. Anthony looked at Venom with a raised eyebrow when he attempted to teach the hiker about training his pokemon. He nodded a bit, "I agree that they need training, but mostly about keeping their heads cool and think. That is one of the reasons we're hiking, it teaches them to be aware of their surroundings and become calm, and all the trekking is doing wonders for their muscles!""I know he wasn't listening but you sound like you wanted Macho to wait and do nothing before I gave him an order, if so, why would I ever want that? They are my partners, or that is the goal, not someone who are supposed to obey my orders no matter what!" He explained and looked puzzled at Venom. He sighed as he recalled Macho and Dude ignored his attempts to get him to listen and calm down. Dude slammed the ground to try seem big and strong and Anthony looked slightly displeased at Venom as the poison type trainer called his move. "Dude, your best chance is a Tackle, rollout is too risky!" Anthony called out to his geodude, who nodded grimly to show he understood. Both pokemon ran at each other and as they clashed Dude's bigger weight quickly get the upper hand as he easily toppled and almost ran over the lighter Nidoran. Nidoran perhaps was newly caught but he was not without skills or training, it seemed like defensive kicking was his specialty. Laying on his back, Nidoran used one hind leg to lift Dude slighty to give his other leg room to kick him away, and he did it so forcefully that geodude looked like he was doing a backwards rollout through the air. As the geodude hit the ground he slammed his hands into it to stop himself and as he slid backwards it was so forcefully that he carved himself a deep trench and more or less became buried in it. Anthony looked a bit tired. "I agree that it looks like it becomes a very easy battle for you, and though Nidoran might not be your most trained pokemon he is still strong and stronger than mine," he paused and sighed before he looked at Venom, but you aren't making it any easier when you keep to the moves that have advantages over my pokemon with your Peck and Double Kick, he added sternly. "Granted, I would have done the same, should my pokemon have had a move that had advantage over your Nidoran, but don't come and tell me I'm weak just because you have type advantage and beat them quickly. Isn't that what you complained about with the steel types?" Anthony asked and once more got a humorous glimt in his eyes. Just like every point up to when they met, Venom listened to everything Anthony had to say before offering a response, keeping his cool this time around. "You make some very good points sir, but your not going to change my mind. My sensei told me and Janine to find our own paths as trainers, and this is the path Ive chosen for myself. As for the other gym leaders and Pokémon types, this may sound selfish of me, but I don't much care for them. So their complaints and type disadvantages carry very little value and concern to me. That is my ninja way. To protect, serve, and fight for the Poison type. All other types are irrelevant to me and my ultimate goal, except for Steel types, but only because they are our targets. As for the reasons why other trainers use Steel types against Koga and Janine, or why they mock Poison types, their motives are also irrelevant to me. They've said what they've said, did what they did, and the damage is done."Venom did well to remain calm from this point forward, but he spoke his words in a very serious and unwavering tone. His ideals not budging even an inch from the hiker's words and questions. "As for your third question, the answer is a bit of both really. Psychic, Ground, and Steel types have a multitude of weaknesses, of which Poison types are capable of learning many of them. For example, Ivysaur is also a Grass type Pokémon, and Nidoran is able to learn moves like Ice Beam. Additionally, when both of them reach their final stages of evolution, they can both learn the move Earthquake. And many Poison type moves are able to learn moves from the Bug, Ghost, and Dark types. As such, we have more then enough moves at our disposal to deal with our weaknesses. All that remains is for me to teach those moves to my Pokémon, and for all of us to continue training and growing stronger. It sounds easy when I say it out loud, but showing the might of Poison type Pokémon to the whole world is easier said then done."Venom continued his explanation, remaining calm, but when Anthony asked his fourth question and gave Venom a puzzled look, the ninja began to glare at him, not looking very pleased. "Are you implying that I treat my Pokémon as nothing more then obedient slaves? If so, you couldn't be more wrong. I was merely saying that as the trainer, you should give your Pokémon more guidance during battle. If the Pokémon acts on its own, it might make careless mistakes and end up losing the battle as a result. Any kind of loss is the trainer's fault. Its that simple. If the Pokémon don't obey, then the trainer lacks discipline, and therefore requires more training themselves. And for your final question, the answer is very simple. Our goal is to battle and defeat Steel types, but your Pokémon are not. As such, battling you and your Pokémon is nothing more then training. A stepping stone on our way to our ultimate goal. That's why Im having Nidoran use moves that have advantages over your Pokémon. So we can win quickly, and move on. You seem like a nice enough person, but any battles that don't involve Steel types are a waste of time to me. Trainers like you who don't have any Steel types are nothing more then food to feed my Pokémon's strength and experience."The Poison type trainer's words were rather cold by the end of his explanation. Almost like a Seviper spitting its venom at a smaller, weaker Pokémon. It was all true though. When Venom said that other types of Pokémon didn't carry any value to him, he meant it in every possible way, shape, and form. Aside from Poison and Steel types, other types of Pokémon didn't matter to him at all. Not as teammates, not as friends, and not as opponents either. Venom only took his opponents seriously when they were Steel types, and he only had any interest in making friends with Poison types, which is why he didn't feel bad about doing what he was about to do. "We've wasted enough time with these weaklings. Nidoran, finish off that Geodude with one more Double Kick so we can move on!" Venom had no mercy for people who bad mouthed or mistreated Poison types, and for people who questioned his goals, methods, or ninja way. As cold as this seemed, all of Venom's Pokémon already knew all of this about their trainer, so it didn't really bother any of them at all, and Nidoran kind of liked this side of Venom, so he had absolutely no trouble carrying out Venom's latest order. "Nido! Nido! Nidoran!" The poison pin Pokémon ran straight for Geodude, ready to pound in the finishing blow without any fear or hesitation. OOC: Thanks Tarlar, and don't worry about it. Your cool. Anyway, this post once again breaks the limit, so that's another 600 words for my Skorupi egg.

"I didn't try to get you to change your ways," Anthony protested mildly while Venom still talked, although it didn't stop the poison trainer. He shook his head defeated when Venom stated that other trainers reason to do as they did was of no concern. If you understood others it would be possible to change ways and stop the hatred instead of digging yourself into another trench and hate back at them. It could be hard when you had been hurt he knew that, but you would just hurt them and then the circle continued. Anthony nodded to Venom's mentioning of moves to teach his pokemon as it was by far the easiest way to overcome a weakness. He wondered why gym leaders often didn't do that, they were supposed to be a really good challenge, weren't they? He looked puzzled at Venom and wondered if the younger trainer somehow saw the poison types as weak in some way, since he needed so strongly to prove it otherwise? "Why would I suggest that? I don't think mindless battlers are worth much! It could almost sound like that was what you suggested, so that was why I asked," Anthony tried to defend himself but seemed to fail. Anthony blinked a few times and looked shocked at Venom when he suddenly turned sour and began berating other pokemon than poison types, where had that come from? He went quiet as Venom finished his mocking and barked his order to Nidoran who obeyed without question. Dude was still trying to get free from the hole he had been buried in and was easy prey for the poison types kicking feet. Anthony recalled the fainted geodude without a word and turned to face Venom while collecting his thoughts. "I must really have hit your soft spot there," Anthony then stated flatly and sent the younger trainer a little smile that was tinged with sadness. "I don't know what have made you so angry to try belittle my pokemon, but you sound very much like the one you have been complaining about. I do agree that all losses is the trainer's fault and both me and my companions has a long way to go, but they are by no mean less worthy just because they have not been borne in your preferred typing," Anthony said quietly and revealed no emotions. "What do you hope to gain from suddenly mocking me? Are you just trying to hurt me because you got angry?" He asked politely and would wait for Venom's answer. Anthony found a bit of money in his pocket and looked Venom square in the eye. "If your view on life is that anything else than poison type is less worth I fear you are heading towards trouble, that is unless you learn to be more open minded," he stated and handed the money to Venom. "I wish you good luck," Anthony said and clearly did not mean Venom's training or goal. The hiker gave a court nod and then turned to head back to Azalea and get his pokemon healed, before they were going for a good long hike. Nidoran wins the battle (surprisingly) and gains 1 level (becoming level 18) He gains +1 happiness. Hiker Anthony gives £352 to Venom for the win. ~600 noted towards the egg. (ooc: making an exception to mod fast here for once, mostly to finish and get to play Anthony one more time, so other don't have to try get the feeling of him )

With his victory secure, Venom let out a small sigh, as both he and Nidoran took a moment to clam themselves back down to where they were before the battle began. Venom listened to everything Anthony had to say once more, and accepted the money from him, putting it away into his pocket for later. Once that was done, Venom stared back into the hiker's eyes, and spoke up one more time. "It wasn't my intention to mock you. I was simply stating my true inner feelings. They weren't directed at you or your Pokémon specifically. Don't feel bad for me, or for yourself. Not many are able to understand me or my emotions. Even my sensei and dear sister have trouble with me at times."
Venom's tone softened, as Anthony's words resonated with him for a moment, and a memory surfaced in the ninja's mind. Koga had told Venom those very same things during his training, about being open minded towards other types, and to not let hate consume him. Janine worried about Venom in the same way, concerned that he may have misinterpreted Koga's lessons, and instead of becoming the champion of Poison type Pokémon, Venom would instead become the one who brings fear to the hearts of all trainers when they so much as look at a Poison type. These memories caused Venom to lose focus for a moment, as he got lost in his own mind, the words of his adoptive father and sister echoing through his head over and over again. By the time Venom finally snapped out of it, Anthony was already gone, as Venom stared at the path leading to Azalea Town. "Thank you for your kind words, and a good battle. I wish you and your Pokémon the best of luck as well."
The Poison type trainer knew the hiker couldn't hear his final words to him, but that made no difference to him, as he bowed in the direction Anthony had traveled in a very grateful and apologetic manner as well. Venom's Pokémon all gave their trainer some looks of concern, wondering what was running through his mind just now, and why it made him look so distraught. However, their thoughts were all quickly recaptured by Nidoran, as the poison pin Pokémon began to give off a very bright glow. All eyes fell on Nidoran, as the small Poison type began to change and grow inside the light. Everyone knew what this meant, and it made Venom's smile return, as a whole new Pokémon appeared from that light, much to everyone's joy. "Nidorino!" Nidoran had evolved into Nidorino, making all of Venom's other Pokémon cheer for their new friend one more time.
Very happy for his new friend, Venom walked over, and knelt down beside Nidorino, gently petting the top of his head. "You did well Nidorino. Im glad to have you with us. And thank you. I needed that." Nidorino was still a bit unsure about having a trainer, and his leg still required a bit more treatment, but the poison pin Pokémon was beginning to warm up to his new trainer, and began to think that having some friends wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. "Nido. Nidorino." Nidorino gave Venom a small smile in return, showing no objections in response to the physical contact from his trainer. With their confrontation with the hiker over and done with, Venom and his Pokémon finished up their meal, then the purple haired trainer called almost all of his Pokémon back to their respective poke balls, except for Nidorino of course. "Lets try to get a little more training in before heading to the Azalea Town gym, okay Nidorino?" Venom asked his newly evolved Pokémon, to which Nidorino nodded, wanting to get even stronger. "Nido." Venom and Nidorino ventured deeper into route 33, as Venom held his recently acquired Pokémon egg in his arms, excited for it to hatch and add another new member to Team Toxic.
OOC: Id like my Nidoran to evolve into Nidorino please. And just like before, another 600 words for my Skorupi egg are present in this post. Thanks for everything.

Floating along lazily on the breeze a lone Cottonweed pokemon was minding it's own business and enjoying the day. It's peace was disturbed however by the sound of a commotion and it drifted along the wind to investigate. It didn't arrive in time for the end of the battle but did show up in time to observe Nidoran's evolution. Its little eyes went wide in wonder at the sight.
For awhile it observed the small party, not sure what to make of this. Then an idea occurred to it. Maybe if it were to fight this newly evolved pokemon it would get strong enough to evolve itself! Perhaps it wasn't a great plan but in the moment it made sense to grass type. Floating out to block the path a little further down the road it tried to sound intimidating (and failed) as it challenged Nidorino.

As the bright light of the sun shinned down upon them, Venom and his newly evolved Nidorino continued their walk down route 33. Their current goal was simple. Get Nidorino in fighting shape for Venom's second gym battle challenge against the Azalea Town gym leader. True, Nidorino had already demonstrated great amounts of bravery and strength against the trainer Anthony they faced earlier, but Venom wanted to make absolutely sure that the poison pin Pokémon was ready. An evolution was an amazing thing, but Nidorino's leg still required a bit more physical therapy, and a few extra levels never hurt anyone either. Except for the opponents they use all that new power against of course. Venom had considered using the Moon Stone he had with him, knowing that it would evolve Nidorino once more, into a Nidoking, but he decided not to do this after some thought. It would help him and his team out a lot to have such a powerful Poison type Pokémon on their side, but Venom didn't wanna miss out on all the moves that Nidorino could learn before evolving.
So for now, he kept the Moon Stone safe in his bag, very excited about using it on Nidorino one day though. The Poison type trainer snapped out of his thoughts when the small cottonweed Pokémon arrived on the scene, blocking their path, and issuing a challenge to the poisonous pair. Almost immediately, Nidorino's facial expression soured, as he wasn't not at all impressed or threated by this floating Grass type Pokémon. He, and Venom for that matter, were expecting to fight something a bit more challenging for their next opponent, but the type of opponent they faced didn't matter much when one considered their current goal. "Oh well. May as well give this one a go. Nidoran, try to wrap this up quickly with back to back Peck attacks." Venom said to his newest Pokémon, after letting out an underwhelmed sigh. Nidorino followed his trainer's example, letting out a sigh of his own, wanting to fight something with more fight in it, but still obeyed his trainer none the less. "Nido. Nido. Nidorino!" The poison pin Pokémon charged right for Hoppip, then jumped into the air, his new, bigger, and much sharper horn aimed with at the small Grass type Pokémon.

The hoppip looked eagerly at Nidorino when the poison type accepted its challenge. It didn't seem to realize Venom's disappointment in it and just tried to mimic what it thought was an intimidating expression. It wouldn't be very affective as it blew its cheeks full of air, opened its eyes wide and shook its swirling leaves, it more looked like it tried to make fun of the onlookers. Hoppip stared in awe as Nidorino rushed forward and leaped powerful into the air and right at it. It wanted to be just like him! Big, strong and powerful, magnificent when running and with that determined look in its eyes, it was already far away dreaming of how it would look when it evolved after this battle, with powerful legs for running and a impressive horn protruding out of its forehead. It hang completely still and oblivious in the air and first realized what it had went into when Nidorino slammed his horn into it and sent it crashing into the ground. Hoppip staggered up on its feet and focused rather dazed on the poison type, it was too winded to be understand what had really happened and being scared from it. It attempted to glare at Nidorino as it sent a pink wind forth in retaliation, it tickled Nidorino's ears a bit but that was all. As Hoppip fought to get airborne again, Nidorino raced forward once more and 'helped' it by sending it flying into the air with another peck attack. Hoppip got caught by a mild breeze which carried the now unconscious hoppip away. Nidorino knocks into the sky and gains +1 lvl He is now lvl 19 and gains +1 happiness (ooc: I can't see any levels rolled for the hoppip, so I did and rng which said lvl 13 which I went with. Venom wasn't at all surprised by the results of this battle, but he was still happy with Nidorino's success, watching the Hoppip float away with the wind. The ninja walked over, smiled at Nidorino, and praised him for his victory. "I know it wasn't much, but that was very well done Nidorino. It seems we need to find you some stronger opponents." Venom's words rang true, as Nidorino looked like he had far more fight in him at this time, as he was already looking around for another opponent to face in battle. "Nidorino. Nido." However, the feeling of Venom's hand on top of his head calmed the poison pin Pokémon down, and made him turn to face his trainer. "I admire your fighting spirit Nidorino, but please try to stay calm. Perhaps the Azalea Town gym will provide you with more of a challenge." Once Venom had finished talking, Nidorino looked serious and ready for battle once again, already wanting more then anything to face the gym leader in a heated battle. "Nido! Nido!"
Venom got back to his feet after rubbing the top of Nidorino's head, and listened to his request, but sadly shook his head. "Im sorry Nidorino, but I think we need a little more training first. The Azalea gym specializes in Bug type Pokémon, and while Poison types do have an advantage over Bug types, its never wise to underestimate an opponent, especially a gym leader. I speak from personal experience. Trust me." The purple haired trainer gave his Pokémon some words of wisdom, having faced both Koga and Janine in mock battles many times before, and has never been able to beat either of them even once. Once his trainer had finished speaking, Nidorino did look visibly disappointed, but that wore off quickly. "Nidorino." The Poison type Pokémon quickly returned to his hunt for another opponent to face in battle, wanting to get stronger as quickly as possible, mostly so he could face the Azalea Town gym leader in battle and beat them. Venom watched as his newest Pokémon ran ahead to search for another foe, and let out a small laugh, amused by Nidorino's level of eagerness to battle and gain strength. "Kind of reminds me of myself." The Poison type trainer said to himself, then followed his eager Pokémon friend further down the route, as their training and team building continued.

If Nidorino and Venom expected something else than their last opponent, they would be sorely disappointed. Apparently a small swarm of Hoppips were about and the next Pokemon Nidorino faced in his hunt for good training partners was that exactly. This hoppip seemed more alert than the last one and actually looked quite agitated. It was floating about in the underbrush calling out in a shrill voice. When it spotted Nidorino it stopped short in surprise, but then shook itself out of it, and approached him as urgently as a floating creature could. "Have you seen another Hoppip around here?" It asked worried. "My little sister floated off, and now I can't find her."Wild encounter Weather: Blooming (clear)

As the ninja and his poison pin Pokémon entered a new area, and spotted the swarm of Hoppip, they let out a simultaneous sigh of disappointment. "Nido. Nido. Nidorino." Nidorino expressed his disappointment, to which Venom gave a nod of agreement. "Your telling me. Oh well. I suppose in the end it doesn't really matter who we battle. Our goal is simply to get stronger, and make sure your leg is properly healed." Nidorino let out another small sigh, knowing that his trainer was right, so he prepared to choose a Hoppip from the swarm to battle with. However, his focus was drawn to a single Hoppip, floating away from the rest of the swarm. When the small Grass type Pokémon floated over to the poisonous pair, they both listened to what it had to say.
As soon as Hoppip finished speaking to them, both Venom and Nidorino began to sweat a little, growing nervous, as they thought back to their most recent battle. Nidorino quickly turned to his trainer, whispering to him for some help and/or advice. "Nidorino? Rino." Venom listened to his friend, then gently rubbed the top of his head, trying to put his mind at ease. "Relax Nidorino. Yes, we seem to have made a mistake here, but now that we realize that, lets just come clean. Hopefully this Hoppip will understand." Nidorino responded to his trainer's words with another question, asking "And if she doesn't?" in his own language. "Nidorino?" The Poison type trainer took a deep breath before answering that question, slowly turning back to the wild Hoppip, and the swarm behind her. "It'll be tragic, but if things go south, I think we can take em. Id rather it didn't come to that though."
Nidorino sighed once more, then turned to the wild Hoppip as well, nodding in agreement with his trainer, a bit reluctantly though. "Nido. Nido." After reaching an agreement, Venom and Nidorino walked back over to the Hoppip, and Venom knelt down in front of her. "Hello there. I wish this meeting was under better circumstances, but here goes. We did see your sister, but we don't know where she is now. She challenged us to a battle, and we beat her. She then floated off on a breeze while in a daze. We're very sorry about this." Venom bowed his head in apology towards the small Grass type Pokémon, and Nidoran reluctantly did the same. "Nidorino. Nido." The Poison type trainer and Pokémon kept their heads down for about 20 seconds, then looked at the wild Hoppip once again, waiting for a reaction, a response, or both. The pair kept their guards up though, just in case she decided to get revenge for her sister.

The Hoppip looked at Venom in surprise when he talked about battling them and then getting taken away by the wind. The Hoppip looked a bit upset, who wouldn't when their sister could be anywhere. "My Sister...." The Hoppip mumbled before it lightened up upon gaining an idea. "Hey, will you battle me too?! Maybe a battle will get me caught too and then I can hopefully follow my sister and find her!" The hoppip half called out half asked looking at Venom with hopeful eyes. Venom couldn't say no to a request like that could he? The Hoppip hoped not. The Hoppip wants to battle! Venom and Nidorino stayed silent, waiting for Hoppip to process everything they'd just told it. However, when the poisonous pair heard the Grass type's request, it was their turn to be surprised. Neither of them were expecting a response like that. Not even for a second. It was easy for them to see that the wild Hoppip was serious though, so the trainer and his Pokémon turned to each other, and began to talk it over. "What do you think Nidorino? Should we?" After hurting her sister and sending her flying off to who knows where, Venom felt kind of bad about doing the same thing to another Hoppip, even if it had asked for it. "Nidorino. Nidorino. Nido." Nidorino was a bit less merciful though, saying that it would be rude to deny this wild Pokémon's request, and also because it would bring Nidorino one step closer and one level higher to challenging the Azalea Town gym.
The poison pin Pokémon's answer made Venom let out a small sigh, as he looked at his newest Pokémon with his eyes half open. "Glad to see that your heart is in the right place Nidorino." The ninja said to his Pokémon in a sarcastic tone, but had to admit that Nidorino did make some good points as well. After taking about 30 seconds to think about it, Venom stood back on his feet, and turned to face the wild Hoppip once again. "Okay then, if that's what you really want, we'll be glad to battle you Hoppip. Nidorino, lets try to finish this one up quickly, just like last time. Use your Peck attack, back to back!" Venom made his command, and Nidorino was more then happy to oblige. It may have been another battle against a Pokémon that Nidorino considered weak, but the thought of battling some strong Pokémon at the Azalea Town gym gave the Poison type a strong fire in his eyes. "Nidorino!" His eyes locked on Hoppip, Nidorino aimed his horn at the wild Grass type, then charged straight for her, fully prepared to repeat his actions from his previous bout with a Hoppip.

Someone had once told Venom that life on the road as a trainer could be full of unexpected surprises. This would seem to be one such case. Even though they had been asked to battle this odd little pokemon and knock him out to float after his sister it still seemed peculiar....but fighting was what trainers and their prized partners did so they would give this their all!
Given his success in the first battle Nidorino didn't expect this to go much differently. Following his trainer's order he lunged forward with the first Peck attack which very nearly took his foe out of the fight! In his excitement though he got caught up in the Stun Spores released by his floating opponent. Feeling his muscles begin to lock up was not something the poison type had expected. It slowed him enough that the grass type was able to attack again, throwing a tackle into a now much slowed Nidorino.
Steeling himself with sheer will power he fought through the paralysis to attack. If his foe was stronger, or had attacks more deadly to a poison type, this could have gone very badly in a hurry! Nidorino managed to push himself to get his second Peck attack off and it too scored a direct hit. Hoppip's eyes rolled up and this one too began to float off with the breeze.
(Victory! Nidorino is paralyzed but that fades between battles in this setting. He gains 1 level taking him to 20 and 1 point of happiness. Also Nidorino can learn Fury Attack if you want to unlearn an existing move.)

As Venom and Nidorino watched a second Hoppip float away on another cool breeze, Venom still felt kind of bad about it, but Nidorino looked very pleased with his latest victory. Once Hoppip was out of sight, Venom took a deep breath, regaining himself. "I hope he finds his sister at least. Well, no use worrying about it now I suppose." Venom said out loud, and Nidorino nodded in full agreement, once again ready to seek out yet another opponent. "Nido! Nidorino!" The Poison type Pokémon ran straight for another part of the route, searching all around for new trainers or wild Pokémon. Venom smiled at his newest Pokémon's energy and spirit, as he began to think that his leg was pretty much healed by this time, and that got Venom's spirits pretty high too. "Okay then, lets have a race! First one to find another opponent wins!"
After declaring his challenge to Nidorino, the ninja ran straight for the trees, and jumped up into the branches. Venom then proceeded to jump from branch to branch, travelling along the trees of route 33, searching for his and Nidorino's next opponents. Nidorino looked up in shocked, watching his trainer jump from tree to tree with great speed and skill, but the shock wore off quickly enough. "Nidoino! Nido! Nido!" After shaking his head and snapping out of it, Nidorino accepted his trainer's challenge, and quickly chased after him on the ground below the trees, determined not to lose. Glancing down at his poison pin Pokémon friend, Venom laughed to himself for a moment, having a great deal of fun with this. So much so that he'd almost forgotten about everything that had been said during his encounter with the hiker known as Anthony. Almost.

The thick trees edging the boundary that was the famous Ilex forest were thick and lively. Each branch was limber, healthy, and generally thicker than anywhere else in Johto so far along Venom's journey. Azalea was certainly one of the more wilder sections of the region with being sandwiched between the mountainous terrain of Union Cave and the vast sea of trees separating the town from the big city just north. It was a resilient area. Something that all the wild pokémon appreciated and respected. The wind that had carried the pair of hoppip away soon died down to a slight breeze whispering through the canopy. Venom and Nidorino seemed to be the only signs of life. But anyone even half as experienced as the young ninja would recognize the silence for what it was. The serenity of the flora would betray the ambush planned by the boy's next encounter. The moment it seemed he was catching on a bright fuzzball swooped down from above. A leg extended, thin but strong. The mankey screeched in announcement of its attack once it was swinging down toward the nimble ninja. A Mankey (LV 13) swung in! OMUySAmc1-42((293 words added to egg)) 1-42
