Aglaia was walking along the road back towards Cherrygrove with Wystan buzzing around looking at everything they come across. Aglaia was uncertain if he was just curious or if he was looking for dangers and making sure everything was safe, to be honest she didn't care as she felt secure with him around, even without Dorthea near by as well. It had been so busy lately and Aglaia had missed spending time with her beedrill so she had decided to go back towards Cherrygrove which she knew and was more confident with.
Wystan disappeared into a treetop and Aglaia paused to look after him thoughtfully. When she had presented the pokemon to her grandfather he had told her directly, that he didn't expect her to keep the bug type as they were weak, and that she would have to switch him out with something better. She would prefer to keep him with her though as she trusted him in a complete different way than her other pokemon, and she had already decided she would do what she could to make him stronger, but how? Aglaia picked up her pokedex to look it through to see what she could learn and what tactic to come up with.
Wystan came buzzing from further down the road when he had noticed that he had lost Aglaia. He smiled when he found her standing in the middle of the road and looking at the pokedex, lost for the world. "Beedrill?" He asked kindly and she lifted her head and smiled to him. "Good, there you are, I have a thing I'd like to try which should held you out a lot," she said and eagerly showed some sort of disc into the pokedex which then it showed an animation of a beedrill making a series of movements. "It's called Sword Dance and it should help you hit more precise and strong with your attacks," Aglaia explained, "come on! Try it out!"
Wystan mimicked the movements of the move called Sword Dance with the help of Aglaia, and found it pretty easy to remember. He preferred to attack instead of defending since he had left back the immobility of his previous form as kakuna.

Weather: Blooming
Humans were endlessly fascinating. So were the pokemon that traveled with them. Ralts was rather shy and didn't necessarily want to be seen by these two visitors but whatever they were doing was just SOOOOO interesting. The little fairy type watched Wynstan fly all about and its eyes grew large. The bug type was so strong looking and big...at least compared to the smaller pokemon. Then once he had returned and the human and pokemon were together again they seemed to do a little dance while looking at a glowing box. Truly humans had the best toys. Eventually curiosity got the better of the little pokemon and it crept closer. The objects of its curiosity seemed busy and surely wouldn't notice. And the pack with more human toys was just sitting there. They wouldn't mind if Ralts took a little peek; especially if they didn't notice. That of course was where the whole plan fell apart. Just as Aglaia and Wynstan finished with the TM they heard a clatter nearby. Turning they saw a small Ralts, hands still stuffed into the pack full of the trainers things. Knowing it had been seen Ralts let out a little yelp, held tight to what was in its hands and turned to run. Shiny Check: z7u1iHW71-42

Aglaia and Wystan was so caught up in the training that they didn't notice their visitor at first, but Aglaia froze when she heard a clatter nearby. Since they were in the middle of the road that might indicate someone or something had gotten close to them, and she glanced back towards her pack nervously. She gasped when she noticed the little pokemon and took a step away from it, where had it come from? Then she noticed what it was doing. "Hey!" She exclaimed and Wystan buzzed forward to intercept the ralts.
"Hey hey hey, what did you do that for?" Wystan asked the ralts humored and would attempt to land in front of it to stop it from running off. If that failed he would follow it and attempt to stay beside it. "My human surely would like to get that one again, and if you tell me why you took it, I might be able to find you something else to give you instead," Wystan offered as he assumed this little one was young and not really a hardcore thief.
Aglaia had looked up the ralts on the pokedex in the meantime. "I and Wystan was quite happy before, perhaps that is what attracted it?" Aglaia mumbled to herself and looked worried at the two pokemon, perhaps that was chasing it away and it an accident that it had even gotten its hands on the TM? Aglaia took a deep breath and plastered a smile on her face. "Don't be angry Wystan, it dislikes negative feelings and I'd be sad to see it go," Astrid called out to him.

Ralts stopped when the giant monster (which was how it saw Wystan) caught up to it. Dropping the TM there on the ground it backed up against the tree, eyes wide with both fear and amazement. After a moment to process what Wystan and then Aglaia had said. Feeling the emotions the two of them were projecting the small pokemon began to calm down a little.
"Your not the monster I've been hearing in the woods, are you?"
Of course Aglaia couldn't understand what it said she gleaned that Ralts' mood was slowly changing from fear to curiosity. Before she, or anyone really, could reply though another sound was heard in the clearing. This one much more frightening.
Ralts squealed in fear and ran to hide behind Aglaia and even Wystan appeared alarmed at the notion of a giant fire type about to land on them. The trainer however noted that there was no sound of giant wings beating or the crash of an enormous pokemon moving through the undergrowth. This must be whatever had been scaring the poor Ralts but something wasn't right here.

Wystan bent down to pick up the TM and took a few steps away from the ralts, so it hopefully felt less trapped up against the tree. He smiled kindly to it but his expression turned serious when the psychic type talked about a monster. "What..?" Wystan began to ask but as given the answer in a quite different way.
Both Aglaia and Wystan froze when the charizard roared its name and beedrill was stunned a few heartbeats before he buzzed over to protect his human. He threw the TM at Aglaia and it ended at her feet. She stared wide eyed around, feeling very vulnerable as Wystan as a bug type would have a big disadvantage against a fully evolved fire type. "Charizard?" She exclaimed with Wystan stood protectively in front of her. She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. "Easy now Aglaia, Charizard is not usually a wild pokemon so it probably have a trainer, then it isn't dangerous," she reminded herself with a hand over her dunking heart. "Some trainers can mean trouble as well though," she mumbled as she wished she had had more than just Wystan with her. She looked at the beedrill and scolded herself, he was one of her best pokemon, if he couldn't handle it, she doubted her others could.
Absentminded she grabbed the TM and headed for the nearest tree. "Wystan, use the Sword Dance and get into the air, we're too much a sitting ducklett right here on the ground," she told him as she headed for the shelter of the trees. Wystan nodded and glanced at the ralts. "Is that your monster?" He asked not looking forward to facing a fully grown charizard, and a part of him hoped it was just a chatot, although they were frightening enough for him, as he remembered them from when he lived in this area as a weedle. "If you can help, I'll be grateful but otherwise go with Aglaia, then I'll do my best to protect you both," he told the ralts and then buzzed up above the treetops while doing the movements he had just learned through Aglaia's pokedex.

Ralts looked to Wystan at his question and nodded in the affirmative. Its eyes were wide with fear but took on a confused expression at the rest of what the Beedrill had said.
"You would defend me?" it asked, seeming surprised. It paused in it's confusion and then followed Aglaia some distance but didn't totally leave the field. Ralts seemed to be pondering still whether to stay and help its new defender or not.
Then, with not so much of a great crash as a gentle flutter of wings the 'monster' flew into view. It was not a Charizard or any other fearful beast. It was instead a Chatot with a mischievous expression. One who apparently took it's amusement scaring smaller pokemon with its ability to mimic the calls of others!
It took notice of the Beedrill poised to do battle though and then, doing what it does best, mimicked the move of it's opponent with its own Mirror Move. Now with both pokemon pumped up for battle they circled one another and looked for an opening to attack!

Wystan didn't hear Ralts' question as he had already buzzed into the sky, but he guessed he might need the help, no matter what it was that appeared. He thought it was the better of the two options when he saw it was a chatot who had appeared, and not a charizard. Not that the bird was much better, especially not after it had copied his move and therefore would also have raised it's strength. The beedrill narrowed his eyes at the chatot, he had lived in this area as a weedle and he knew the other species well. He had been able to do little against them but now it was going to be different, he was much stronger and he had Aglaia to support and help him.
Wystan paused as he was about to charge forward, that mischievous grin looked familiar. There had been one chatot who had been worse than all the others and had chased him several times. He narrowed his eyes as he tried to figure out of this was the same one, since that would make it personal! He kept circling and lookied for something to indicate if this was the chatot that had more or less bullied him as weedle. He was aware he would be better off if he could avoid a direct confrontation. "Woah, you are good at imitating sounds, here I thought a charizard really was coming to burn me!" He called cheerfully to the chatot, although he kept a close eye to it. "Where have you learned to sound like such pokemon? I haven't seen anyone around these parts of the forest," he asked as the only reason Wystan himself knew about the fully form of an evolved charmander was because he had seen one while having been "boxed" in the lab. He stayed wary and would use Fury Attack if the chatot chose to attack.
Aglaia exhaled relieved when she saw that it was a chatot and not a charizard, and then got busy looking it up on her pokedex. She didn't like that it could both copy Wystan's moves and had type advantage over him, she would probably need to use some potions or similar.

Chatot paused for a moment to be addressed in such a way. Normally the bugs around here didn't try to talk to him. But there was something familiar about this bug....
"Trainers walk by all the time. I watch and listen," it replied in a nonchalant way. "And listening to you I think we've met before. Are you one of the little Weedle that grew up here? Let us see how strong you have gotten with your human!"
It was a challenge but not a malicious one. This did seem to be the bird Wystan had remembered before. Now it seemed intent on finding out who was the strongest between them!
Things started happening quickly at that point. The Chatot charged but Wystan was a wee bit faster. He met the charge and attacked first, hitting four times with it's Fury Attack. The feisty bird pokemon was not to be out done however and delivered a viscious Peck attack of it's own which knocked Wystan back several paces.
As all this was happening little Ralts was trying to cover its eyes and hide. But somehow it couldn't just leave the brave bug who had offered to defend it behind. Bug friend was hurting and it looked like the mean monster bird might win the fight. What would happen to them all if that came to pass?
Making a fateful decision Ralts' face screwed up in concentration as it focused on their common tormentor. It released a Confusion attack on the Chatot hoping to save itself and its new friends. Then, as if alarmed by what it had done Ralts turned to run and hide behind Aglaia. Apparently it would take some time for this little one to build up its courage!

Wystan narrowed his eyes at the chatot, it really sounded like the one that he had met before. The bird was clearly not stupid if it saw its chance to scare all the bugs by taken something so scary as the huge fire lizard, the cry was close enough to a charmander's to be recognized but also so different in sound it was clear to all this was a fully evolved pokemon. "I am one among many," Wystan answered as he had several friends and family who had all complained by this one chatot, that had always been after them. He had lost some to the birds in the area which had ended up as dinner, although not only to the chatot, one thing was to get hunted and eated but to get mocked at the same time? "I was the one who poisoned the chatot who attempted to pull me out of the dead tree," he revealed while watching the chatot's reaction closely. Wystan fought off the chatot with all his might, it was as strong as he feared and he was panting when he managed to push it off. He blinked surprised when it acted like it got hit by something invisible that bothered it but he did not dare look glance down to see if it was the ralts who was helping. Instead he took advantage of it and darted forward to furiously stab it some more with his stingers. Aglaia jumped startled when something suddenly clung on to her leg and with hands raised nervously she glanced down to see the ralts. She scanned the area frantically until she spotted Wystan who was in close combat with the bird, she was on her own. She leaned a bit away from the ralts and looked closer at it to see if it held anything else it could have snatched from her. She couldn't see anything and while she would have preferred to get the ralts to let go of her, she didn't dare touch it as it might turn aggressive against her. "Hello there," Aglaia greeted the ralts with a shaking voice which she tried to make happy and warm and more or less failed. She found it very hard to think and plan with a wild pokemon clinging to her, and the only thing she could remember was that the ralts was affected by feelings of the ones surrounding it. wordcounts: 404 (ooc: Wystan uses another Fury Attack, Aglaia attempts to call down the ralts )

Chatot seemed to react ever so slightly to Wystan's comment about poisoning a bird trying to pull him from a tree. It seemed he was about to say something clever before Ralts' Confusion attack hit. Becoming confused then rather put an end to any further debate.
What came next was not so much a fight in the traditional sense. Wystan was the faster of the two and Chatot couldn't focus on which of all the bugs floating in his vision was the right Beedrill to try and hit. When he went in to attack it was merely a matter of poking him real hard once to knock the bird out.
Meanwhile, on the ground, Ralts' looked up at Aglaia with big eyes full of wonder and gratitude. She of course couldn't understand that it was thanking her and now, with the threat removed, was full of curiosity. Truly, humans were full of wonders....and they still had the best toys!

Wystan felt a rush of excitement when he knocked the chatot out of the sky. He had won! He had beaten a bird, and even one that had snatched one of his moves and had been bullying him as weedle! He saw no shame in having gotten a bit of help from the ralts as he knew very well that you couldn't handle everything on yourself, but he had still won the battle. For a heartbeat he watched as the bird plummet towards the ground and his eyes widened in shock, then he dived after it! They were in the heights of the tree tops, such crash landing could not be good for anyone and not a thing Wystan wished to be responsible off for another pokemon. Not even a chatot. If he managed to grab it, he would do his best to slow its speed and place it gently on the ground. If not he would get Aglaia to come and see if it needed any healing.
"What?" Aglaia said confused as Wystan gestured to the ralts after he learned that it would like to join them. It still clung to Aglaia's leg and she had raised her arms a bit to not touch it. The beedrill pointed at one of Aglaia's pokeballs and then at the ralts, who looked eagerly at Aglaia. "You... want to be captured?" Aglaia asked hesitantly like she worried angering the wild pokemon by the suggestion, the ralts just nodded eagerly. It was a bit too clingy to Aglaia's taste, but she managed to get an empty pokeball and pressed it gently at the psychic pokemon's head.
Aglaia sighed with relief when the ralts was safely stored inside the pokeball and wasn't way too close for her comfort. She looked at the pokeball with a frown and then stuck it into her bag, she would have to figure out what to do with it. Wystan turned back to the chatot and if it wasn't awake, he would give it a gentle nudge. "How are you?" He would ask the bird when it was conscious, keeping his voice neutral. Aglaia stood half behind her and watched nervously not understanding what the pokemon was talking about. "What would it take to stop you from scaring everyone around you?" Wystan then asked the chatot seriously. He knew there was no way he could get it to stop trying to eat bugs once in a while, it was their nature, and there was no reason for trying to scare it from doing it again, when he wasn't there to stop it. But perhaps there was something else that could chance its ways, if he knew the reason to why it did it. "Why do you try scare everyone around you?" He added at last.

With Ralts safely stored away Aglaia and Wystan turned their attention back to the Chatot who had been helped to the ground. It was groggy from the fight but had regained consciousness and was once again sitting upright. The bird regarded Wystan curiously, turning it's head a bit sidewise in concentration as it pondered the words.
"Birds eat bugs," it said simply, speaking slowly as it considered its words. "But other things eat birds. Being scary helps keep other things from bothering me."
It was true that reputation counted for a lot in the wild and even things that might prey on birds would fear a rampaging Charizard if they thought one was around. Perhaps Chatot had gotten a bit over zealous in building up its reputation but that at least had been the motivation. For now though it wished to move on lest it get beaten up again. Hopping to its feet the bird spread its wings and took to the air. Circling once over head as a sign of respect Chatot sailed off on the breeze.

Wystan frowned but didn't argue with the chatot as he could understand it and saw no solution for it, how to tell it to keep it down a bit if it felt threatened? He wondered what was eating birds though, he thought the only one who hunted those were the trainers. He watched as it flew away and hoped it wouldn't keep too many others terrified while it flew around, at least it would be hard for it to hunt as well as it would chase away all the prey long before it got a glimpse of it.
The encounter had reminded Wystan of his life as weedle in this area and he wondered what had changed since then, and how his friends and family had fared. He looked at Aglaia and decided he wanted to show her around.
Aglaia was immensely hapy to see the chatot fly away and the trouble having been solved. With it gone and the ralts out of the way, she felt much more relaxed. "That was some kind of training, typical of us to find the one opponent who could steal your newly learned move, so we really didn't figure out what difference it did," she said and shrugged. They surely would get other chances. Wystan was looking around eagerly and then cheerfully gestured for her to follow as he left the road and flew off. "What is it Wystan?" Aglaia asked and hesitated at the road and he had to gesture for her to come along, before she followed him.
Wystan hoped to show her where he had lived, and the great water fall, she would love that! And if he could find someone he had known before he would be thrilled.

Aglaia followed Wystan, though seemingly with a bit of hesitancy in her step. They walked for a little ways without anything seeming amiss. It was a lovely day after all and the smell of the blooms all around gave a rather peaceful feel to their hike. It was especially relaxing given the exertions they had just been through with the Chatot!
Soon they could smell water in addition to the fragrance of all the buds around them. That meant they must be getting closer to the waterfall! Wystan's memory of the area apparently was spot on. Before they could press on though a sudden noise distracted the pair of them.
It was a bellow of some sort from an obviously wild creature. They couldn't place though if it was an angry sound. It might be in pain, trapped or just confused for all they knew. The only thing they knew for certain was that it was rather loud and close at hand. They could investigate or push on forward towards the water fall and hope that whatever it was wouldn't follow

It was a nice trip and Aglaia began to relax as Wystan was relax and excited, she could guess that everything was fine and that her beedrill had everything under control. They soon enjoyed the walk and the nice balm weather and as the sound of the waterfall came close Aglaia looked interested. "Is that where we are going?" Aglaia asked and Wystan nodded eagerly and received a grin from the woman, which froze as a strange sound reached their ears. Both stopped abruptly and strained their ears if anymore sounds should come and reveal what the first had been. Wystan raised his stingers, ready to defend them if needed. What was it with strange sounds today?
They waited for a moment and when nothing came rushing out at them, Wystan lowered his stingers a bit and then began to head towards the waterfall. "Wait.." Aglaia said hesitant and he stopped to look back at her. she gulped. "I'd like to check out what it was, it could be someone needing help and if not, I'd be nice to see what it is and make sure it doesn't sneak up on us." Wystan nodded and changed direction toward where the sound had come. They moved carefully and sneaked through he trees while doing their best to be hidden in the hope of seeing what had made the sound before it saw them. Wystan hoped he still would get a chance to show Aglaai the waterfall and meet some of his old acquaintances.
