THE HEART 0431 WORDS ■ @tag ■ SUPER SMALL NOTE OF CHAMPION After getting his first Pokemon, Greyson kneeled by his Bulbasaur by the outskirt of New Bark Town as he gave her the first pep talk. "Alright, little fellow, let me make many things clear, I don't give a crap about you being the starter of the team. I get that you are like the first pick, and I am supposed to build a team around you but I will repeat: I. DON'T. GIVE . A . S***. If you are not good enough, I will throw you away like a rotten cabbage. If you are not hardworking, you will not make the team. There are millions of Pokemon in the world, I can easily find a replacement. Heck, you are not my favorite Pokemon, neither are the red lizard and the one with the shell at the lab just now. I have no attachment to you or your kind, if there are more choices I would have find a better one, but I am here with you only because you looks like the best out of the three there. You might just be a placeholder for now until I found a better fighter or you could be a main stay in my team. You understand, Bu -- what's your species name again?" Greyson flicked the Pokedex on his right hand open and pointed it at the Bulbasaur. "Bulbasaur, the Seed Pokemon. There is a plant seed on its back right from the day this Pokémon is born. The seed slowly grows larger." He closed the Pokedex once again. "Bulbasaur, do you understand? Do you copy?" The Bulbasaur merely looked back at Greyson for a few seconds...before giving him a slight nod.
This thing's f***ing dumb. "Okay, that's good enough for now. After you have proved yourself, you will be given a name. Until then, you are merely a Bulbasaur. Wild Pokemon have been living without a name for many centuries, so should you until you proved you deserve one. I don't waste time thinking a name for loser, so let's go out there and prove to me you are a winner. It's time to get the show on the road." Greyson stood back up and headed down the open road, expecting the Bulbasaur to follow. Seriously, if this thing couldn't comprehend she should follow her trainer without a "follow me", it's not worth training her. Route 29 was just ahead of them and the morning has just begun. Greyson was looking forward to a productive first day of his Pokemon trainer career. He's already 58, there was no time to be lazy.
[OOC: From what I see, PC Pokemon are controlled by both PC and GM? Personally, I don't mind GM controlling my Pokemon a lot so it doesn't feel like they are just puppets of my own amusement. So, feel free to control them as you - the GM - see fit.]

Weather: Flooding
Bulbasaur studied her new trainer carefully. He didn't seem to like her very much and that caused the seed pokemon some distress. The rest of what he said though especially caught her attention. She wasn't much used to humans and their ways yet but she did understand the concepts of fighting, training and becoming stronger. Those ideas filled her with a sense of purpose.
When he started to walk she followed along, carefully surveying the road ahead of them as they went. The spring rains had stopped for now but they had done their damage. Along with snow melt they had managed to accumulate a lot of water and mud along the road. The travelers were obliged to watch their step to avoid the wet hazards all around them.
Then, ahead of them they spied a pokemon. Sentret was wet and irritable as it tried to salvage what it could from its flooded den. Being in no mood to put up with any company it turned and began to snarl and advance on Bulbasaur and her trainer. Bulbasaur stomped her feet in anticipation and turned to her trainer as if to say "Are we going to take that?"

THE HEART 0500 WORDS ■ @tag ■ SUPER SMALL NOTE OF CHAMPION "Damn, the flood really got this place good, huh. Stick to the main road, unless you want to train walking on muddy ground, which you should eventually have to cuz I know there will be Pokemon who can make the ground muddy for their own advantage. You see, a true champion like me thinks about so many scenario already and knows how to train. You gotta think one step ahead of your opponent, mind game is as important as your physical ability in a real sport. We are playing real sports here, not menial exercises like a 100m sprint. That's not a real sport, that's just how fast can you run. It's simple. This is not. I might be on my first day but I sure as hell have seen all the tapes. And it's important to study the tape --" The monologue went on and on and on. After a quick glance to make sure the Bulbasaur has indeed followed him, Greyson did not turn back anymore after that. He's not a babysitter, this Mon he got from the lab should be well-trained enough to actually know how to follow her owner. Like seriously, he would turn back to the lab to exchange it for another one if she did not possess such simple insight.
"You know, this reminds me of the great flood that plagued the region a long time ago. Man, I could go for ho---" Before he finished - as if he would finish talking - his story, he spotted a Pokemon who seemed to be digging over the muddy surface. It did not take long for the Pokemon to turn hostile though and Greyson quickly flicked his Pokedex open for a scan. Always know the enemy, it's competition 101. "Sentret, the Scout Pokemon. When Sentret sleeps, it does so while another stands guard. The sentry wakes the others at the first sign of danger. When this Pokémon becomes separated from its pack, it becomes incapable of sleep due to fear."
"Chill, Bulbasaur, but be prepared." Greyson halted the grass Pokemon from charging in with an extended open palm. He wanted to talk to the Sentret first, if possible. "You are awful aggressive for your kind." He knelt to the same level as the Sentret as a sign of respect. No matter the (possible) opponent, weak or strong, Pokemon or human being, they all deserved his respect as fellow competitor. "I understand how the flood can piss you off, as my teammate did when the great flood happened. There is no need for us to fight over such stupid reason, how about we help you dig out whatever you are digging for?" Greyson could have easily just attacked right away but he understood. Sure, he might be a gigantic D most of the time but he has his humane side. Off the field, he was fairly considerate, all thing considered. If the Sentret insisted of being a bigger D than he was, than oh well, time to rumble.

Sentret backed up a step in surprise at the human's violating it's personal space like this. For a moment the man continued to talk but it didn't mean much to Sentret. In the end it did indeed decide that it was the biggest D in this part of the trail. Slinging mud into the humans face it reared up to attack before being distracted by a body check as Bulbasaur put herself between the angry Scout pokemon and her trainer.
The two evaluated each other for a moment and it became clear that Sentret was too upset to talk things out. As Greyson himself had thought it was time to rumble. Pick your attack and we'll get this show on the road!

THE HEART 0498 WORDS ■ @tag ■ Misspelled "sen" for two posts
OF CHAMPION Greysen kinda saw it coming, the Sentret was obviously a young one who was just pissed and emotion control was never great on any younglings. He has been through that before. Sure, it was a few decades ago and he has no children to remind him of those time, but he remembered -- partially because he only has 38 years of memory for a 58 years old. Out of pure instinct, Greysen went for the Pokeball on his back pocket for a return throw. The thought of capturing the Sentret never crossed his mind at the moment, it was pure instinctive move from a former professional baseball pitcher who was used to attacking with a throw of ball. Before he could extend his hand back for a full-powered throw though, he was hit by a big wave of mud, some even got into his eyes. It was a complicated moment for the egoist, who already has a hard time accepting "daddy time". Every athlete has to come to term with the decline of they athletic capability in time, as time has always been merciless to anyone, and Greysen certainly felt that right now. Despite his ardent effort in keeping his body in the best shape it could possibly be, his mental swiftness and cognitive function had declined so much that it was obvious. He was certain he would be faster than this D-head if he were his old self, but no, he was the only getting hit by the mud now.
He was sort of expecting more as he tried to clear his eyes as quick as possible, but nothing came. As he opened his eyes again, he knew why, the Bulbasaur had him covered. Now, this he liked. He did not even think about how normal it was for a Pokemon to be guarding its trainer or whatever, all that reminded him was his baseball time, when his teammates would clear the bench to back him up in a fight or he did the same to his fellow teammates. "Well done, Bulbasaur. It's important to cover your teammate and you obviously know that. Now, let's rumble!" He said with a smirk, growing with happy at what his first Pokemon comrade shown him so far. "It's time to rumble and let's keep this quick now that we are still full of energy. Hit that dirtbag with a tackle!" He did asked about the moves of the Pokemon when he was on the lab so he knew what Bulbasaur has. Admittedly, he was quite disappointing by the lack of moves the lab Pokemon could do. When he was watching the tape or the televised matches decades ago, the competitors always have good moves. Powerful beams, technical attacks and what not. But these so-called "starters", they only knew boring moves like Scratch and Tackle. The professor did say that they would eventually pick up the better moves and Greysen could only hope he could see progress soon enough.

Bulbasaur glanced hopefully back at Greysen when the latter praised her and she eagerly answered his call for an attack. "Saur!" It was best to stand on his good side, there might still be a chance to get that close partnership and friendship that all the starters in the Lab had been talking about, and dreamed about. The sentret was a wild pokemon, they would never understand how special it was to be a trainer's first and most trusted partner, although Bulbasaur had to admit she had worried quite a bit when she had listened to Greysen's introduction speech. She would do her best to make this work, who knew how her life would be if she didn't? She shook her worries of her and focused on the present and the longtailed pokemon in front of her. "Face me instead and I'll show you," she called out a tentatively challenge and the sentret scowled at her. "Leave me alone and let me save my nest!" It called back bad tempered. Bulbasaur hesitated and glanced back at her trainer, but if she had to chose between trying to get a somewhat decent life herself or treating another pokemon kindly when she wasn't going to meet it again, she chose herself. The sentret had raised itself up on its tail to stay out of the water and as Bulbasaur raced forward she slammed into the tail and sent the sentret sprawling into the mud. It leaped back to its feet furiously and jumped at Bulbasaur and covered her in scratches. She yelped, more from surprise than hurt and ran back to Greysen and first stopped when she was behind him. After standing there shocked she realized what she had done and a bit sheepishly trotted forward and warily stood in front of him once more. THE HEART 0337 WORDS ■ @tag ■ Was Busy this week
OF CHAMPION Greysen did not like how the Bulbasaur reacted to taking a hit. Holy Mother of Arceus, what kind of training do these labs run their so-called starters on? These Pokemon are as weak as the 10 years old skinny asses who visit the lab. The old man did consider cutting the Bulbasaur some slack. Oh, he knew the Bulbasaur knew how he was feeling. There was literal flame burning inside his eyes at the moment. The question was to cut or not to cut the slacks. On one hand, the Bulbasaur did have some redeeming qualities; but on the other hand, he recalled what his team general manager has said one day they were chatting in the office. A good general manager always made the painful but right call. Everyone has redeeming quality, no player was ever fully good or fully bad, but sometime you just have to cut the less good ones. Bulbasaur seemed to be one of the "less good" judging from her current performance.
"Seriously, you are in combat sport and you run away from some rudimentary scratches? How can I expect you to take flames or any stronger attacks in the future if you reacted like that? You either toughen up right now or we are walking back to the lab. We are only a few kilometers away from it at best, and it's still morning. I have got all day to toss you back there and find a better fighter out of all the Mon." Greysen decided to go rough, not because he wanted to, but he has to set an example for this one. She was supposed to be the captain of the team, or the first, the example. How could a captain convince his comrades below? By leading the charges. If he did not go hard on this one, it would be harder to do that on other Pokemon who he captured or convinced later on. "So prove to me you are not a wussie, Tackle and brace up!"
[OOC: Thanks for the info. I did skimmed the site and did read about Bicycle mode but never read into it. I will have it on for now.]

Bulbasaur looked deeply ashamed as Greysen scolded it furiously. She knew it had been a bad reaction but her play-training with Charmander and Squirtle had been quite different, and she had been taken by surprise by the sentret. She raised her head determined it would not happen again, she would have to become tough if she wanted to get that bond with a trainer she had heard so much about. She gulped when Greysen angrily gave his order, he was clearly not pleased with her. She glared at the sentret at she leaped forward, it was all its fault, if it hadn't surprised her this wouldn't have happened. Sentret had paused and looked suspiciously between Bulbasaur and Greysen, it hadn't seen a trainer and their starter pokemon act like this before. Usually all trainers were all fuzzy and supportive of their pet pokemon, all cheerful and sugersweet, but this trainer surely wasn't. He seemed to take it all more.. serious. It watched as Bulbasaur leaped forward and braced itself as she slammed into it, then it curled up a bit and waited. Bulbasaur looked like she was curious and wanted to see what the sentret was doing, but she forced herself to trot back to Greysen and stand protective in front of him, waiting for his order. THE HEART 0715 WORDS ■ @tag ■ Was Busy this week
OF CHAMPION Greysen had a wide smirk on his face as he saw how the Bulbasaur responded. "Now that's more like it. That's how a winner behave, you hit hard and you don't back down without a reason!" Greysen extended his right fist straight out in the midst of his excitement. It was like the old time again, where he was very expressive with his body language. Before his waste-of-time coma, he always reacted like this on the baseball field, or when he got any exciting news -- like winning a hard bet on a "black horse" in his Pokemon racing betting. After his coma though, he did not have a lot of chance to be that happy and expressive...until now. His time was coming. As a very exciting person and even a dull fight between two immature Mons could provide him that emotion, but you gonna cut him some slack, this was a dude who has been out of any competition for twenty plus straight years. He has a lot of coals to burn and he certainly glad he was trying this sport out.
What he did not expect was for the Sentret to be the one that did all the bracing. Initially, Greysen thought it was some sort of defensive mechanism to better receive a hit but the Sentret stayed in that form for longer than he expected with no revenge attack on his Bulbasaur whatsoever. How could that thing win without attacking? Perhaps this was what the people were talking about when they said a trainer brings out the best of a Pokemon. A wild Pokemon might not be the strategist, especially one as young as the opposition.
The Sentret not moving at all did provide him with a golden opporturnity to capture it. What was supposed to be a simple capture brought up a lot of questions for Greysen. The most critical concern at the moment was the potential of a Sentret. It just looked like a species he has not seen a lot in all the TVs he watched and this one did not look like it has groundbreaking talent either. It did scratch the Bulbasaur back to papa, sort of, but he was not certain if that was his Bulbasaur being a wussie or that thing was just that good. On a second thought, the Pokedex did say it was a Scout Pokemon. If there's one thing Greysen was abysmal at, it was wild survival. Greysen was a urban man thorough and thorough, with absolutely no experience in the womb of mother nature until now. He has to think better than just a team of fighters at the moment. Pokemon were not only fighters, they have helped human with all sort of tasks for a very long time. Even in professional sports, it's not all about the athletes, the stadium staffs, the managements, the investors, the fans, they all contributed in different roles. Even if this Sentret was not the best fighter in the world, he could easily be a wild scout for him and that's good enough for now, when he only has one athlete in his arsenal. That's as good a reason as he could get in his current circumstance.
"Alright little Sentret, now let me show you how a real player command a Pokeball," He did not even care if the Sentret was looking or not, he just wanted to make that statement. With that said, he ready the Pokeball in his hand and went into his baseball pitching motion, full leg kick and such before throwing a degraded version of his fastball, now currently at best landed on 80+- mph, unacceptable in the big league. Oh, he did not care if he could just throw a ball like a normal person and it would still connect. He picked this sport partially because it involved one thing he did best -- throwing balls. Either way, the Pokeball was certainly more than qualified to capturing the Pokemon at this beginner-friendly Route 29. The Pokeball flew hard towards the Sentret, but did it hit? Or this ojisan has already lost his pitch control? Or the worst of all, his eyesight? If it's truly his eyesight, the Bulbasaur was bound for another thirty minutes of him complaining about it.

The bulbasaur turned her head and nodded determined to Greysen, eager to stay on his good side and show she was worth his praise. She leaped forward when he began speaking again but made a sliding stop when she realized he was not talking to her, nor wanted her to attack. The green pokemon looked at the pokeball as it flew over her head and then readied herself, having been told many times wild pokemon might break out again and attack. The sentret might had had a plan since just before the pokeball hit it, it uncurled and gave the pokeball a slap with its tail, sending it right in the face of Bulbasaur, who staggered backwards. Sentret did not wait to see how Bulbasaur fared as it instead ran straight towards Greysen. What it was it wanted would stay a mystery as Bulbasaur was hot in its heels and forced it to leap out of the way to avoid getting tackled. the sentret rose to its tail when it was in a safe distance and shook a clenched paw angrily at Bulbasaur who stood guard in between it and her trainer. THE HEART 0306 WORDS ■ @tag ■ SUPER SMALL NOTE
OF CHAMPION Darn it! This Sentret was certainly getting on his grill. How dared it just slapped his Pokeball away like it's nothing!? It was not a regular Pokeball thrown by some average trainer, this was a freaking fastball from a baseball supposed-to-be hall of famer. On the other hand, it looked like it could fight, or at least it has the dexterity and coordination of a good fighter, which was...good news? "Good job so far Bulbasaur, you keep that thing from coming at me." The Bulbasaur continued to cover him without him saying anything, which was great. He always hated indecisive partners or the momma boy who were clueless without an instruction.
"You are really trying my patience, and I am not sure if I am happy or angry about that." Greysen said as he put his right hand on his back to grab another Pokeball, hiding it from the Sentret for now. "If you want a duel, then you will have one. Be prepared!" There were a lot of ways for Greysen to do this. He could easily run Bulbasaur at the Sentret to get its attention and then threw the Pokeball afterward for an easier catch. But no, he has standard and honour, and who was he without confidence in his own ability?
He went for the baseball leg kick again, full motion, before releasing the Pokeball at the Sentret once again. This time, it was a tricky pitch. As the distance was quite different from pitching in the baseball field, he has to make some adjustment on the speed and position, but the core idea was that the ball would looked like it was going to soar over the Sentret's head before coming down to it in a 11-5 curve. That should do the trick(!)...assuming his throw was perfect.

The beady eyes of the scout pokémon narrowed as it watched the trainer rear up once again. An audible huff even at this distance brushed the soaked grass beneath it as the wild pokémon dropped its fist and bowed to the ground ready to move. Bulbasaur's defensive play was still getting in its way. The girth of the grass type doing her favors in that respect. She toted forward a few steps, drawing part of Sentret's attention while Greyson made to throw. The short hairs covering the young pokémon bristled noticeably with all the action happening simultaneously. Greyson's leg went down as his arm rolled forward, releasing the ball as a blur in the air. Bulbasaur instantly became of less interest but still the wild raccoon had very little time to assess. It was still ducked down and ready to bolt, but just as its muscles tightened it registered that the ball was too high. A chortling natter popped from its throat as a preemptive mockery of what it assumed a bad throw. However, before its tongue could slip from its lips the ball dropped in a rapid curve and slammed right into Sentret's forehead. Disappearing in a stupefied daze the pokéball sucked the wild pokémon in with a flash before dropping wetly onto the sodden ground. The device rolled to its side, red light brimming on the button. But it was only for a second or two. With barely a rock the click of success sounded and the red faded away. SUCCESS!

THE HEART 0539 WORDS ■ @tag ■ FIRST CAPTURE!!!
OF CHAMPION Strikeout!!! For a second there was an imaginery umpire standing behind the Sentret calling that with a signature hand gesture. Heck, Greysen could even heard the crowd cheering but that all lasted for a few seconds before perished into the wind. That was life for anyone who has ever lived for that long. Of course, some -- scratch that, most people would not know that was. Most people never achieve greatness like he did and the feeling of tumbling down the hill would not have hit quite as hard. Darn it, is this midlife crisis?
Well whatever, he expected to be fighting in front of a crowd eventually, this time in a different sport. After taking a deep breath to relax his mind, he walked to the Pokeball on the mud, completely ignoring the very happy Bulbasaur who just won the first battle of her life. "Got you good, didn't I? My slurve is still good after all these years." He said to the Pokeball before picking it up.
As he turned back, he saw the Bulbasaur was already right behind him. The Bulbasaur was clearly a young kid who just wanted some sort of approval. Greysen was not a big fan of kids but well, he knew he has to deal with that as a Pokemon trainer. "Alright," He crouched like he always did. "That's a good first fight but don't get too cocky just yet. The one thing that keep the good players from becoming great players is consistency. I am from a sport where you have to play great all the time, so no one can tell me otherwise. You see, a single victory is nothing in sport. You will be fighting for hundreds of fights of you proved yourself capable and you need to do great in as much of them as possible. Losing is to be expected but how you bounce back from it is important. There will be more fights today, be happy after you get through all of that."
Then, he popped the Sentret out of its Pokeball. He was not sure if a few minutes were enough for the Sentret to cool down and be willing to listen to him, but he ain't got all day. "Alright, same deal with you. You will get no name until you have proven yourself. I considered calling you 'Scout' but that's too cool of a name, so no, you will be Sentret. As you are from the wild, I am certain you are used to not have a name, or maybe you did, not like I know Pokemon language, but it doesn't matter. You are nameless as it is until you have proven yourself." He opened up his bag and took out two Oran Berries. He lightly tossed one to the Sentret, expecting it to catch it and then placed the other one onto the main road, clear from all the mud, for the Bulbasaur."You two eat up, the road is still long. And Sentret, there ain't no use of your former home anymore now that you are with me, but if you have anything you need in your buried nest, we can help you to dig it out. My initial offer still stands." 1-2·1-2·1-24LfIJ3XGe

Bulbasaur nodded solemnly to show she understood Greysen's teaching although her eyes had widened in surprise when he had talked about having to win 100 battles before she had proven her worth. She looked anxious after that, wouldn't tht take years and wouldn't she have evolved fully before then? She looked a bit crestfallen of the thought of a lot of hard battles ahead of her and not being able to be happy about any of it before the day was over, suddenly sunset was very far away. The sentret looked at Gresen with a weird expression on his littel face as the man held his speech. It was hard to tell if it was from not understanding Greysen, or if it was because the sentret found it strange what he was told. He didn't really react to being unnamed and was calm throughout the ordeal, so it he did understand he probably didn't care. Sentret ignored the berry that was tossed and just moved his head a bit so it flew past, while it looked at Greysen with a raised eyebrows. Bulbasaur trotted over to pick up the berry Greysen had put down for her but she too just returned it and laid it at her trainer's feet. None of them felt like they needed it at the moment. Sentret glanced towards his drowned home and then looked thoughtfully at Greysen, then he turned and raced to the other side of the road and stopped before he disappeared among them trees. there he raised himself up on his tail and looked back at Greysen and Bulbasaur and if they didn't get that he wanted them to follow, he would gesture to them and call out ot Bulbasaur to make it clear. Bulbasaur would look at Greysen for directions. The moment they followed Sentret would lead the way through the trees, the ground sloped up slightly and became more dry. The puddles of water disappeared and the sun broke through the clouds and then they reached a shallow hollow in a little hill. It was small paradise with soft grass and both plenty of sunshine and grass, there was even a little creek with bubbling fresh water. Up against a tree a spinda laid and sunned itself and Sentret looked expectantly at Greysen as he pointed at the bear pokemon. "Hey! Leave my home or else!" Sentret called out to the spinda who was jerked awake but clearly smirked when it saw who it was. "It's mine now, have you already forgotten that? You went to find something more suitable for you, right?" The spinda mocked and looked closer at the trainer and the bulbasaur. "And don't think your helpers will change anything," the spinda continued as it got wobbling to its feet. Sentret turned to look expectantly at Greysen once more, he had offered to help saving his home after all. Spinda [lvl 6] isn't willing to give up its home for Sentret. Will Greysen help teach it a lesson or will he walk away? Shiny Roll: lNCDknSx1-42(ooc: I have asked for getting your Sentret updated with the new information. I haven't asked to get the Oran Berries updated as your pokemon heals automatically after a battle, unless stated otherwise in things like quest and gym battles and such.) 1-42

THE HEART 0757 WORDS ■ @tag ■ SUPER SMALL NOTE OF CHAMPION "Not fans of the snacks, huh?" Greysen put the rejected berries back into his backpack. He only has a limited amount of items and keeping them for later was more than fine. "Wait a second, where are you going?" Greysen almost took the Sentret's ball to recall him back in, but quickly realized the Pokemon seemed to be leading him to somewhere else. On a second though, it made sense for a Pokemon like him to have multiple nests. The herbivores needed them to hide from the hunters in the wild and to keep themselves safe if they could not make it back to their main home at end of their day. What he did not understand about was how pissed off the Sentret was over the flooded nest. Obviously, the Sentret did not have anything of value inside it - or it would have started digging instead of running away - yet he was so upset just now. Eh, whatever. Greysen did not further thinking was necessary.
He once again ignored the Bulbasaur and just walked toward the Sentret. The Pokemon was clearly waiting for them on what looked like the entry into the wild. Greysen was in fear of the wild, but that was sort of moot now that he has a locale with him. He's pretty confident the Sentret could lead him in and out from the main road throughout the day. Despite not being a wild person at all, Greysen absolutely liked the view as Sentret led them deeper. As an urban person, this was certainly new for him. He took a deep breath of fresh air as he continued to follow the Sentret. The sad Bulbasaur, of course, followed right behind them.
Upon seeing the new Pokemon, Greysen's instinct went right toward the Pokedex. He brought that devce out from his backpack again and took a scan. "Spinda, the Spot Panda Pokemon. No two Spinda are said to have identical spot patterns on their hides. This Pokémon moves in a curious manner as if it is stumbling in dizziness. Its lurching movements can cause the opponent to become confused." Interesting, Greysen really liked this one. He was a fan of confusing in a sport, combat or otherwise. In almost every ball sports, feint existed and existed for a reason.
The conversation was all but confusing to him though, as he clearly could not understand a word from them. Either the Sentret has another home nearby or maybe this Spinda was a bully of him? That's as close as he could guess. He was certain they were not friends from their body language throughout the conversation. What got him exciting was the Spinda itself. It was quite clear that it's probably a better fighter than the Sentret and he was in no position to be selective. In fact, baseball taught him to not be selective. It was a cruel sport after all, where a ton of rookies were recruited to the minor leagues and only a selected few of them would ever make it to the big league. It's all about spreading the nets and hope you get a few gems. Aside from his limited Pokeball at the moment, he has no reason to not do the same thing.
"I don't know what you all are babbling about but I am challenging you, Spinda. Be prepared! Sentret, you back off and watch. Bulbasaur, you are on deck!" His honorable mindset dictated that he would not attack the Spinda out of surprise. The Bulbasaur was said a moment ago, but totally excited to get another fight right this instance, especially now that she was confident in using a new attack. Every fight fought was one less from the daunting hundred battle milestone.
"Alright, hit it with a Tackle!" Greysen said after he was certain the Spinda was ready - definitely not easy to grasp if the Spinda was ready or not, as that thing was wobbling all the time like a drunk - and of course, the Bulbasaur disobeyed the command. She has Leech Seed in her mind! The Bulbasaur was lab-trained and has a better awareness of human invention. She certainly heard the Pokedex and knew this opponent was extra slippery. To make sure she did not screw it up, she spread the seed all over the field. A dot of green glow formed on the tip of her "backpack. From the glow came multiple green orbs arching through the air and landing all around the Spinda. All she needed was at least one seed to hit.
[OOC: I decided it's more fun to keep Sentret personality empty for now and see how it develops in the thread. I will write them up much later.]
