Andrew felt a sharp wind against his face as he rushed through the scattered crowds. He could safely say that this was not how he imagined approaching this new city. He was struggling to keep his troublesome Ekans in sight. Alena found slithering through the masses of people a rather simple task but Andrew was unintentionally demanding strange looks from people as he pushed through.
Andrew sighed as he passed the buildings hed been waiting for. A quick rest at the Pokémon Centre would have done his entire team some good. He was forced to rush past dozens of shops that were bound to have some great deals. He didnt even manage to get a glimpse of Earls Pokémon School. Alena had really done it this time. He was really going to have to keep a closer eye on her. If she kept this up, hed be forced to keep her inside her Poké Ball.
Alena hadnt thought twice before running off. In her eyes, this felt great. She was demanding her trainers full attention. Andrews reaction wouldnt bother her as long as he kept chasing her. A large building with a swaying pillar caught the Ekans eye, diverting her attention from the Pokémon Gym. Alena smiled to herself and proceeded to cross the bridge to get to the tower.
Andrew was almost out of breath. He couldnt recall ever running this fast in his life. Hed definitely need to work on his own fitness if this was to become a regular thing. Youve got to be kidding me! Andrew groaned as he spotted Alena crossing over the bridge. Sprout Tower seemed endless. He had no intention of chasing her all the way to the top. Maybe, if he was lucky, someone would be able to catch her before then.
As Andrew entered the tower he began to feel a bit dizzy. The swaying pillar was really right in his face. Luckily, inside the tower was warmer than it looked. Maybe it wouldnt be so bad after all. He searched the ground floor, expecting his Ekans to already be half way up the tower, but to his surprise, she shed been distracted. Andrew stormed over to the serpent, ready to let out his rage, but as he got closer something didnt seem right.

Alena stood there, entranced by the flames being spewed by a lone Cyndaquil that was being ganged up on by 3 swaying Bellsprout.
"Quiil!" it cried out in a high-pitched screech as it blasted out another stream of fiery embers. The embers seemed to blast one of the Bellsprout into its owner's chest, sending them both flying into the wall.
"Get that Cyndaquil!" the Monk cried out as he got to his feet. This Cyndaquil had messed with the wrong monk and was going to know it! Holding his singed pokémon, the monk ran up the stairs.
"I'll let the Elder know it's back!" he cried after himself as disappeared upstairs.
"So, you're ours now," one of the remaining monks said as he advanced towards the Cyndaquil, his Bellsprout in front. It began savagely whipping the Cyndaquil. Quickly, the other Bellsprout joined in and began to whip it even more furiously.
The poor Cyndaquil cried out in pain as the green vines whipped it to the point where it was bleeding in some areas. [/blockquote] Is Andrew going to stand by and watch the poor Cyndaquil get savaged by these Bellsprout? [/i][/size]

[[OOC: Yes he is.
Thanks for the reply Scott. Give yourself a mod point. :3 This reply mightnt make a whole lot of sense, sorry. I really cant think properly.]]
Andrew gazed in awe as the Cyndaquil appeared before his eyes, instantly forgetting to scold his Ekans. The mouse Pokémon seemed like an obvious target for the Ekans, but for once, she had more on her mind than food. Cyndaquil seemed pretty determined to defeat these Bellsprout, even through all of its suffering. Andrew couldnt just stand there and watch it get beaten to a pulp. He had to step up.
After a quick moment of consideration, Andrew hurled a Poké Ball into the air. Lets go, Ruffle! He knew that his choice was a risky one, but the electric-type was in need of some experience. The battles would only get tougher so it was up to him to start training as soon as possible. Judging from the way things were going, reinforcements could also be on the way. Alena and Glint would more than likely be able to cover any tough opponents hed face so for now, their rest was vital.
Andrew felt slightly intimidated by the sages and opted not to talk directly to them. Hed never found talking to older people easy and the situation really wasnt helping. From what he could see, this Cyndaquil didnt seem to have any dreadful intentions and facing these men alone certainly didnt seem fair. Hed impulsive chosen a side now and he wasnt about to turn back.
Alena seemed too caught up in the battle to even realise what was going on. For once, she seemed intrigued and stable. It was probably best not to disturb her from the calm state she was in. The last thing Andrew needed was for her to run off while he was in the middle of a battle. The Poké Ball opened in mid-air, and a hot-pink light revealed a tiny Pichu.
Ruffle seemed pretty pumped for this battle which made Andrew feel more confident. The tomboyish rodent smirked as she stomped forward. Lets start things off with a Thundershock on whichever target the Cyndaquil doesnt choose! Andrew advised his Pichu. Ruffle nodded and prepared to make her move. Sparks began to form at her cheeks as she waited for her partner to aim its attack.

"Begone, foul rodent!" cried one of the remaining sages, rattling his prayer beads harshly. The jarring noise served only to spur the Cyndaquil into attacking, sending forth another spray of fire at the plant directly in front of it.
The Bellsprout let out a high pitched cry as the flames tore through its tender, flammable body, making it fall to the wooden floor as its legs gave way.
Its trainer stepped forth, a middle-aged, balding man with gray, stubby hair bristling all over his round head. The sage seemed unable to keep his anger in check, unlike his more silent companion. "You!" the first sage cried out, pointing accusingly at Andrew. He'd finally noticed what the trainer was doing and was not one bit pleased.
"Do not assist this beast! It desecrates this holy place with its malevolent presence and seeks to inflict irreparable harm upon our precious tower!" the monk raged, spittle flying from his lips.
The Cyndaquil cocked its head and let out a series of snorting noises, unmistakable as laughter. Ruffle leapt to its side and immediately loosed the electricity she'd been storing as the battle unfolded. It struck the stringy Bellsprout standing before the silent sage, forcing the plant to shudder as the Thundershock sent electricity coursing into its frail body.
Despite looking like it had no body mass, it was made up of plenty of nerves to control its movements so it appeared graceful instead of fragile. And Ruffle's attack interrupted its nerve communication, inflicting upon the plant a paralysis that left it unable to retaliate.
The Cyndaquil looked over, startled by the unexpected help. "Quil," it squeaked in obvious relief to Andrew, turning back to face the Bellsprout it had badly singed. One of its vines went whipping across the battlefield, slapping the Cyndaquil across one of its eyes. The shrew emitted a squall of agony and bent to the wooden floor, head shaking back and forth.

Andrew was disgusted by how the Cyndaquil was being treated. For a brief moment, he questioned his decision to help the fire-type but he rapidly decided that people werent always to be trusted. Besides, he had several reasons why he should help the creature. The sages were treating it awfully and had forced it into an unfair battle. The poor fire type was being forced to battle two Bellsprout alone.
No, Ive made my choice! Andrew replied. That was great, Ruffle! Lets try it again! Andrew ordered. His Pichu also seemed to be getting on pretty well with Cyndaquil. It didnt seem to be all that mischievous, just full of determination. As one of the Bellsprout took a sneaky shot, Andrew knew hed made the right decision. There was no way hed being backing down now.
After glancing around the building, Andrew felt slightly uneasy. The moving pillar made a strange creaking noise and the constant swaying was giving him a headache. The building didnt seem to stable which made him question his every step. The constant muttering and chanting of sages scattered around the multiple floors were also contributing to how uncomfortable he felt.
Alena was still awestruck by the battle. The cheap shots made things even more entertaining for her. She still hadnt realised that she wasnt being included in the battle. This was the calmest shed been since Andrew had encountered her back at the beginning of Cherrygrove. The trainer was still keeping a sharp eye on the poision-type. He needed to keep her around for as long as he could.
A crooked grin spread across Ruffles face. The Pichu was really enjoying this battle. If the foes wanted to play dirty, she could shake things up a little too. Directing a troublesome glare at the same plant-type, the rodents cheeks began to produce jolts of electricity. She carefully aimed her attack at Bellsprouts feet which to her seemed to be the most fragile part of its body. This was going to get chaotic, which was exactly how she wanted it.

The silent sage merely glared at Andrew, his more vocal brother going a tad red in the face. A vein bulged on the man's forehead, a sure sign he didn't take his career choice too seriously if he had such a hard time toning down his fiery temper.
After continuing to moan for a moment, the Cyndaquil raised its head. At the same time, the fire raging on its back exploded with fury, turning the temperature of the room up a few degrees.
It was enough to make any human in the vicinity begin to sweat uncomfortably, as if in a sauna. Cyndaquil was so very pissed; it had been mistreated by these hateful monks and was being denied access to their stupid tower. Maybe the mouse would burn the entire place down just for kicks.
Alena shook her head, noticing the fluctuation in temperature, though it didn't shake her extreme interest in the battle. The Cyndaquil opened its mouth and then leapt forwards, charging towards the Bellsprout that had savagely dealt an underhanded blow. Its powerful, anger-fueled Tackle sent the annoying plant crashing into the long, billowing robes its trainer wore, fainted from the brutal assault.
"Cynda..." the Fire type muttered triumphantly. Breathing heavily, the Cyndaquil scampered back towards Andrew and Ruffle as the young Pichu sent a blast of electricity at the only remaining Bellsprout.
The bolt struck the plant's feet as intended, sending it crashing down on its back. But the little weed was climbing back up, looking annoyed. A vine slipped out from under one of the leaves attached to its body and whipped through the air at Ruffle. She yelped as it slapped her heartily in the stomach and skidding back a few feet. It stung, but it wasn't too bad a blow.
It would only be a little more before the stupid plant was down. With a snarl of rage, the first sage recalled his Pokémon and pointed an accusing finger at Andrew. "This foul creature, and the likes of you, will not be allowed further access to this tower if I have anything to say about it!" he rasped, leaving the room in a billow of gray fabric. Double Battle

Andrew rolled his eyes as the sage started nagging at him. His voice sure was irritating. “Well luckily, that isn’t likely to happen…” Andrew muttered. The battle was just minutes from being finished. The tables had turned and with Andrew’s help, Cyndaquil would easily overcome the remaining Bellsprout.
“Okay, Ruffle! Let’s try another ThunderShock! One more should do it if we get some help from Cyndaquil!” Andrew ordered. He looked at Ruffle, receiving a nod from the electric mouse. Luckily, she still seemed to be healthy. If it came to it, they could continue battling. He turned to Alena. The Ekans was still enthralled by the battle. Everything was going according to plan.
Andrew kept a look out around him. He still wasn’t sure about this place. He didn’t trust any of the people around him. He suddenly spotted a stairs nearby. He’d have to be ready. There was always a chance that there could be more sages trying to protect the tower. Sweat poured down Andrew’s face as he turned his attention to what he hoped would be the final attack in this battle.
Ruffle smiled mischievously as sparks began to surface from her cheeks. She stared down the opposing Bellsprout, hoping to look intimidating. For such a cute Pokémon, her attitude could be nerve-racking at times. “Chuu,” she growled as electricity began to surround her. With the help of Cyndaquil, these sages didn’t stand a chance.
The flashing lights and extreme temperatures made the battle even more intense. Alena loved moments like these. The most hectic battles were always the most interesting. The Ekans wasn’t even involved in the battle, but the harsh conditions made her feel as though she was.

Now that the tables lay on their side, Cyndaquil felt pretty damn good about its chances of ascending the tower. These monks were all crazy naysayers spouting gobbledygook nonsense about it. It huffed angrily in memory, but calmed down as it recalled its last spike in temper turned the room into an unofficial sauna.
Ruffle was given the honor of striking first and took full advantage of the opportunity. The electricity crackling out from her rosy cheeks blasted forwards to strike the remaining Bellsprout head on.
It squealed in an annoying manner, writhing under the current that was coursing through its frail body. Once the yellow glow died down, it was the Cyndaquil's turn. It took off across the floor before leaping off from a slightly crooked floorboard. Hanging in the air, the little shrew opened its mouth and let out a terrifyingly loud war cry.
"Quil!!" it squealed angrily, back blazing as it sent a cascade of hungry flames down on the shocked Bellsprout. One of its leaves caught fire, causing the wounded plant to flail about in a comical manner until it collapsed on the floor, too tired to continue to fight.
Without a word, the remaining sage recalled his Pokémon hurriedly and threw a pile of green cash on the floor before leaving in a swirl of silent anger and the swishing of his robes. Ruffle hopped forwards and collected the money with a cheer of triumph, happily turning back to Andrew and hurrying back.
Presenting him with the offering, Ruffle's cheeks turned a faint red out of her pride of winning her first battle, even if she'd had a bit of help.
The Cyndaquil smiled and let the fire on its back burn out, leaving the room much more comfortable. Its crescent shaped eyes turned towards the stairs, then back to Andrew. Nodding, the fire mouse ambled over to the staircase on all fours before stopping at the first step. It reared up on its hind legs and stared up, wondering how long it would be until it reached its destination.
Andrew's Pichu turned her head to look over her shoulder at the Fire type and then made anxious motions towards it. "Cynda!" the Cyndaquil said in slightly urgent tones. It wanted to hurry on up!
Congratulations! You defeated the two Sages! You earned £275!
Ruffle grew to Level 10! Ruffle learned Thunder Wave!
The wild Cyndaquil would like to proceed! Will you accompany it?

Both Andrew and Ruffle received massive ego boosts as they saw the infuriated faces of the sages. Cyndaquil seemed pretty pumped that the battle had gone so well, too. However, this mission wasnt over yet. Andrew could hear muttering and whispering upstairs which meant that there was obviously something more in store for him. The tower still freaked him out but so far his time inside had been quite enjoyable.
Ruffles facial expression showed how relaxed she felt. It was rare to see the tomboyish Pichu in such a good mood. She had really kicked ass with that Cyndaquils help. As the Pichu handed the Poké Dollars to Andrew, he knew that she was aching to continue. Pichuu! she beamed as her mischievous grin began to grow. She turned around and looked at Cyndaquil.
Sweet! That was pretty awesome! Well done guys! Andrew said aloud. Breathing a sigh of relief as the temperature returned to normal, he rubbed Ruffles head as she dashed over to him. He smiled at the Pichu and congratulated her as he collected his prize money. As he questioned whether or not he should carry on, Cyndaquil let out a startling cry. He had to make a decision quickly before they were blocked off by some more sages. Ruffle still seemed fairly energetic so maybe it wouldnt be so bad. He was still curious as to what Cyndaquil was after.
Before Andrew could take more time to think, Alena shot past him. The Ekans was no longer in a trance and she wanted to continue. The snake Pokémon rushed up the stairway, forcing Cyndaquil to move aside. Looks like were going up! Andrew announced. He quickly followed his Pichu as she climbed up the stairs to the floor above. As the noises got considerably louder, Andrew wondered what was in store for them next.

"Quil!" it squealed in annoyance and shock as Alena thrust her way past it. Glaring after her with its sleepy eyes, the rodent began taking the stairs one at a time after the rapidly ascending serpent, forgetting momentarily about the trainer who was lending it his assistance.
Alena crested the stairs and slithered further into the room, her golden eyes curious as they wandered about the softly lit room. Here and there were some beautiful lanterns, casting dancing patterns of light over the assorted wooden beams and floor, but leaving areas shrouded by shadow.
At this point the Cyndaquil burst into the room, panting heavily. It traipsed on past the observing Alena and headed towards the next set of stairs at the other end of the room when a dark shadow fell over it.
Startled, the rodent looked up and yelped sharply. Ruffle heard the noise and jumped up the remaining stairs to enter the room. Alena was hissing faintly as a man appeared from out of the shadows of a wooden beam, staring down at the Cyndaquil with a look akin to disdain written across his aged face.
"We meet again, pest," the sage uttered in cold, monotone tones. His dark blue eyes narrowed as Alena and Ruffle appeared by the Fire type's sides. "You're not actually helping it, are you?" the man scoffed, backing up to swing his prayer beads at the trio. A ball attached to the middle of the beads sprang open to reveal yet another wriggling Bellsprout. The creature unfolded its leaves in a graceful manner, although the expression on its face was one of barely concealed disgust.
Annoyed by the complaining gasbag, Cyndaquil fired up its back and spat several embers at the sage's robes, causing the balding man to yelp and stomp on the spot, trying to douse the flames.
His face was one of cold fury when he finally got it out. "I am one of the best sages here, beast. Sage Neal. I will not see you get any further!"
Sage Neal would like to battle! Sage Neal sent out Daemon (Level 9)!

After ascending the stairs, Andrew looked around him once again. That damn pillar was still in sight. Hed have to do his best to avoid looking directly at it. Andrew jumped as he heard a voice. Whoa, shit! he cried out, turning to find another sage. The mans voice was quite irritating and Andrew wasnt sure what to say as he asked him what his intentions were. In the end, he decided to say nothing. The question did seem pretty rhetorical.
Chuu! Ruffle growled as electricity began to form at her cheeks. She was all pumped from the last battle. Hold on, Ruffle! Take a rest for now. Ive got just the Pokémon to handle this! Andrew announced. Ruffle frowned and crossed her arms. This wasnt the least bit fair. Alena began to laugh at the Pichu, presuming the trainer would pick her.
Lets go, Rayna! Andrew shouted, hurling a Poké Ball into the air. The sheeplike Pokémon that hed only just captured emerged from her Poké Ball. She was currently the weakest Pokémon in Andrews party and this was the perfect opportunity for some training. Maa,, Rayna shrieked as she awaited orders. Ruffle glanced over at Alenas gutted face and began to snigger. The poison-type wasnt getting this battle either.
Cyndaquil, take a break. Weve got this one! Rayna, start things off with a Tackle! Andrew announced. Ruffle and Alena sat at the sidelines as there wasnt much else for them to do. Theyd just have to sit it out with Cyndaquil and wait patiently for the battle to end. It would all be worth it to see what was at the top.
Rayna darted forwards as she directed her attack towards Neals Bellsprout. The Mareep may have been at a lower level than the plant, but she had no intentions of losing. Another Bellsprout! How creative! Andrew taunted, feeling slightly more confident. Hed already taken on two sages, and he had plenty of backup. One more wouldnt stop him from reaching the top.

Neal's face creased in anger as Andrew appeared in the room to take charge of the battle. Meddling kids... couldn't they just find some place in the city to loiter and vandalize instead of barging into the Tower like they owned the place?
His Pokémon had roughly the same attitude as their adolescent trainer. Sensing the shift in its trainers mood, Daemon puffed itself up as if to appear threatening to the Pokémon still facing it. Cyndaquil backed away respectfully as Andrew called out a fluffy sheep, knowing that it was best to save its strength for any further battles.
It too let out a snicker as it caught sight of Alena's defeated face. Poor serpent. "Hold your tongue, you impudent boy!" Neal raged, clenching his fists together. He opened his mouth to continue right as Rayna hurled herself headfirst at his Bellsprout, knocking the tiny plant flying across the room to smack into a wooden beam.
Rayna looked faintly abashed at the harsh critical hit! But there was no denying the pleased look in her carmine eyes as Daemon struggled to its spindly feet. A dark glint came into the sage's eyes as he stared angrily at the Mareep.
With a cruel smile distorting his usually kindly features, the man pointed at Rayna. "Leech Life Daemon!" he ordered. With a squeak the Bellsprout went racing across the room, almost hovering over the ground it was moving so fast. As it reached Rayna, it leapt swiftly onto her back and landed in her woolly yellow-white coat, ignoring the faint crackle of stored electricity.
Vines slipped out from under its leaves and struck her in the back of the head, sucking energy from her body and leaving her squirming uncomfortably in pain. Ruffle squeaked and pressed her paws to her mouth while Alena hissed furiously at the weedy plant.
A high jump carried the plant over the assorted members of Andrew's crew, and Daemon scurried over to its master with a pleased look. "Bellsprout are strong Pokémon, child. We would not have built this Tower as a shrine to them if they were not," Neal said in smug tones, obviously happy with his Pokémon's work. Trainer Battle

[[OOC: Nope, I think its great. It really livens things up. Battling Bellsprout after Bellsprout can get a little boring, so things like this are definitely welcome with me. :3]]
Andrew had spoken too soon. This Bellsprout was a lot more powerful than the two hed faced previously. It knew Leach Life which Andrew understood to be a move only available through breeding. One move wasnt going to change his opinion on the flower Pokémon though. Bellsprout was still as dull a Pokémon as hed first thought.
Amazing, Andrew said in a sarcastic tone. He had been caught off-guard with it, but he certainly wasnt going to give that sage the satisfaction of knowing it. Yep, its really something. he continued, hoping that the sage would crack up. This battle may have been serious but he needed to be entertained to keep his mind off the pillar. His winning streak had made him a little too confident but he also enjoyed winding up those obnoxious sages.
Alena began to laugh as she saw Ruffles timid expression. The Pichu glared back at the snake, and threw a punch at her. Chuu! she growled, attempting to restore her fearless reputation. Guys, calm down! One battles enough to handle! Andrew warned. Ruffle turned away with a resentful look on her face. Alena continued to snigger behind her back. Strangely, she was feeling entertained. It was odd for her to be thinking about something other than food or attention.
Rayna studied her opponent again. The wool Pokémon was quite intelligent and was always strategic about her moves. That critical hit wasnt surprising to her at all. Now shed just need to pick up the pace. Bellsprouts Leech Life would stall the battle by draining her energy. Even so, she knew that with the right tactics, she could easily overcome the opponent. Maaa, the sheep cried, reminding her trainer to give her a command.
I think well go for another tackle, Rayna! Andrew decided. He wasnt fond of her other move, though hed probably use it at some point in the battle. Raynas last attack had bought him a bit of time so he could probably play around with the enemy for a while. Rayna rushed straight into a second tackle. She wanted to get this battle over with as soon as possible. Like the others, she was interested in what was above. Cyndaquil had to have some reason to come all this way.

Vs. Sage Neal
The sage schooled his features into a mask of disapproval, but didn't let Andrew's taunts enrage him any further. He'd already had a mini freak-out over the arrival of the teenager, and that was enough. Neal snorted in disdain as the boy snapped at his Pokémon - he would never scold Daemon for anything.
Daemon watched Rayna with beady little eyes as the Mareep waited patiently for her orders. Neal seemed to notice this concentration and reacted before Andrew could tell Rayna to attack.
It was a sneaky tactic, but perhaps it would buy some time until the Elder had been properly warned and prepared himself for the rodent again. "Leech Life quickly!" the sage ordered his Bellsprout. As Rayna turned to begin her charge, Daemon was already in motion, vines unfurling from its leaves in preparation.
The Mareep was faster, and she lowered her head to tackle the weedy little plant, striking it swiftly. Its vines wrapped around her head and pierced her skin once more, sucking up more of her energy.
What Daemon didn't expect was a static jolt from her crackling wool, leaving it with a bad case of paralysis. Andrew's audience began to laugh at the same time, snickering at the Bellsprout's bad luck of touching the Mareep.
Daemon squealed and scuttled back to its master, looking hurt and annoyed while the paralysis caused its nerves to twitch in a spastic manner. Rayna bleated in laughter, bouncing on her paws in her happiness. It wasn't nice to have her energy drained, but at least she had an advantage over the dumb Bellsprout now. Trainer Battle

[[OOC: Sorry, I went a bit braindead so this post is terrible.]]
Andrew realised that if he wanted to do well in this battle, there couldn’t be any distractions. His Pokémon would have to behave properly. He’d warned them now so hopefully everything would be okay. Neal had tried to sneak a move in while Andrew had lost focus. He’d been right not to trust the sages. Playing fair wasn’t something they’d been showing too regularly. He’d already seen this when they ganged up on Cyndaquil on the ground floor.
“Great job, Rayna!” Andrew praised the Mareep. So far, she hadn’t disappointed. She was definitely one of Andrew’s easiest Pokémon to work with. She planned out her strategies carefully and looked for her opponent’s weak spots. “Try another Tackle!” Andrew ordered, confident that the paralysis would hold the Bellsprout back. The flower Pokémon was at a disadvantage already and its health had dropped to under half its maximum. A few more tackles would be sure to knock it out.
“Kaanns,” Alena hissed, irritated by the Bellsprout. She couldn’t stand the way grass-type Pokémon moved. It looked so awkward, but hopefully the static would keep it still. Ruffle smirked as the static slowed their foe down. She and Rayna shared the same ability which she always loved to see being used. Electric-types were known for being quick but this would ensure that Bellsprout would be last to hit.
Rayna took a second to prepare her move. The wool Pokémon knew she had the upper hand in this battle and she planned to keep it that way. She planned to finish this as quickly as possible. There was no time to recover after each battle and her trainer could use as much help as possible on the next floor. There would have to be something big up there since the sages were going to such effort to prevent them from getting there.
“Maa!” she cried out again, acknowledging her trainer’s command. She dashed towards her opponent for the third time, picking up speed along the way. Rayna intended to knock the opponent out in three more turns at the most. She knew she couldn’t get too comfortable though. If she did, she would risk messing up and costing everyone more time. Everyone was counting on her to win this.
