As Sylvester gave a hint as to where his Farfetch'd ran off to Tyler did not say anything else to the young man but Mania yet again decided to speak. " Well it is not an exact location but it certainly is descriptive enough to start with. It should help us narrow down our search. I want a chance to test out my new found strength as soon as I can so those ducks will have a rude awakening if they do not come peacefully." Tyler just nodded as he wanted to see what she could do as well. Now that they had narrowed their search it was time for them to start looking. " If Sylvester is correct I think we should head towards the Luminous Vale first. In the welcome center it mentioned the trees there being tall and thin and Tangula are said to appear there which matches the other part of the clue." He said as they made their way to the Luminous Vale. Ooc: Heading to the Luminous Vale

Ooc: Returning from the Luminous Vale.Ic: As Tyler and his Pokemon made their way back to where they met Sylvester it did not take them long at all to deliver the first Pokemon. The shape the bird was in was far from pleasing to look at but it was still alive for now. " This little critter did not take much work at all to bring down. Mania took it down in a single blow before it could even react. I do believe it had learned it's lesson about wondering off after the battle it just had. If it's brain is still functioning at all I would imagine the psychological terror it just suffered would be enough to set it straight for the rest of eternity." Smiling at the man with an evil grin he had plans for the next Farfetch'd if the man did not fork over the goods as promised. "Now from what I recall from our earlier talk the other Farfetch'd will be in another part of the forest. The clues you provide it make it sound like a pretty gloomy place. I do recall a place called the Gloomy Ravine from the map at the entrance so I think I will try there next. We were right the first time so it is not like they are hiding too well." He then headed in the direction of the ravine hoping that it would be where the other Farfetch'd would be located. Ooc: Heading to the Gloomy Ravine

The dense woods made the Ilex Forest quite troublesome to walk through. Ororo had been studying water Pokemon for the past few years, but she’d stopped a few times to examine other types as well. One of those types was mainly grass, so she had hoped it would come in handy for this newest quest, but she was very wrong. The immense woods seemed like a labyrinth and this environment was completely out of her water element. She’d been a lot older now than when she started her adventure initially, so she knew now was not the time to panic.
As she continued her stroll, she spotted a man with an interesting haircut and a teal outfit. He was certainly hard to miss, the suit he wore was very bright and could be spotted a mile away in this green filled woods. He paced back and forth, muttering something under his breath. Wow he looks stressed. She thought to herself. To help him or not to help him? She thought about her schedule, and she concluded she had enough time to help the poor guy out. “Hey, do you need help with something?" (( Summoning Sylvester ))

Sylvester had been so enveloped in his thoughts that he hadn't heard the young woman approach. Snapping from his pondering he stopped pacing and looked to Ororo first with a bit of surprise until his mind caught up with her question. "O-Oh, hello. Um, yes actually," he began, a hand moving to rub the back of his neck to show his anxiety. "I'm in a bit of a pickle. I had some work to do in the forest but I just can't get my father's Farfetch'd to listen to me. They keep running and hiding all over the place. They usually don't go very far as they like to mock me, but they're the only pokémon I have and I'm sure you've heard the stories about this place. There's no way I can safely go after them and they know it."The man sighed, dropping his hands to his hips and staring at the ground. Soon an idea hit him. He took another look to Ororo, "Say... You look like a capable pokémon trainer... ... Would you... find those little pests and bring them back here for me? I may not have much but what I can do is offer you a rare HM to teach your own pokémon that could help you get through this forest a little easier."
"I know they have to be nearby. One went that way, toward the brighter area of the forest where the blue birds make their nests, and the other..." Sylvester adjusted where his finger was pointing as he paused his speech, turning to nearly the opposite path. "He went down there. It's really dark but it doesn't feel threatening; has got a lot of berry bushes."
"What do you say? Will you help me out?" Sylvester is requesting Ororo's help recover the hiding Farfetch'd. Find the Farfetch'd and bring them back here, either one at a time or both together, to receive your reward.

Ororo stood, nodding her head as she followed along with the words of Sylvester. His story was quite the predicament, but she was confident she had the Pokémon that could help him. “Don’t worry.” She affirmed. “I have just the Pokémon to do the job.” As she headed his clues, she was a little confused. The water type was a little unfamiliar with the likes of this particular bug-filled forest. She looked at the paths, each one guiding her to a envoy of what could be a long tribulation of regret and frustration. In any underwater cavern she’d be able to feel quite confident, but here it seemed as though the long canopies could swallow he whole at any minute.
She knew deep down that she had the sheer knowledge to do anything and although she studied water Pokemon, this should be rudimentary for any serious scholar. Ororo took a deep breath, and began heading where her gut told her to go first. “Wish me luck.” She said softly to her Pokémon, all of whom were incased in their Pokeballs. Polipop, the unofficial yet somewhat official leader of the team, decided to come out and escort her along her path, just in case any trouble would manifest along the way. (Heading to Luminous Vale)

Coming from Gloomy RavineUpon reaching the Shady Glen Tyler and his Pokemon were in a rush to try and find Sylvester. After the pain of finding the two Farfetch'd they were in no mood for a prolonged search. Mania in particular was in quite the foul mood having dispatched the two Farfetch'd hardly breaking a sweat in the process. " Where in the hell is this moron? We just spent who knows how long loking for these worthless birds si he had better be here. I am getting hungry and I am half tempted to see for myself it their tastiness rumors are true. I do not even mind eating one plain so long as I get a good meal out of it." She said as she reached for the Farfetch'd on her shoulder. She knew she had to let it live until Sylvester paid them but it was very tempting to take a bite off the bird. She let it stay whole for now as they continued to look for the man who had asked for their help. " Sylvester had better have that payment ready. I want to get the heck out of this forest and get to our next assignment in the Slowpoke Well. From what I heard the higher ups are after something there and I want to impress them. I fully expect there to be some trouble when we go so I am glad you got some practice in Mania. We might just need that extra experience." He said as he tried to pass the time until they were able to meet up with Sylvester, once they were able to meet up he could collect his payment and leave. Just when they were ready to give up and feast on the Farfetch'd they heard a rattling in the bushes nearby. Thinking that it might just be Sylvester they quickly pretended like all was well, fearing that if Sylvester knew of their attempts to eat the bird he might not pay them. " Sylvester is that you? I found the other Farfetch'd, the little critter thought it was a good idea to hide but the other Pokemon in the area forced it out into the open and Mania quickly convinced it to come with us. Once we have our payment everything will be golden, after this chase I am beyond ready to leave this forest for the time being as I have business to attend to elsewhere.Ooc: Waiting for Sylvester to hand in the 2nd Farfetch'd/ [/font]

Sylvester had settled in a comfortable arrangement of soft grass padded down where the first Farfetch'd lay, still unconscious from his run in with Tyler and co. The man himself was wrought with worry. He'd gotten the bird back but... just look at it! He feared for what sort of shape they'd return the next one in. When he heard voices approaching he quickly stood and headed for their source, finding exactly who he'd expected. The man attempted to hide his worry from his visage, and it mostly worked but that was only due to the nicer demeanor brought by Tyler. He was almost at a loss for words at first, taking the fainted avian and giving him a kind of bewildered look. The Farfetch'd was still alive and in decent shape, which was the best he could hope for here. "T-Thank you," he sputtered with the hint of a relieved sigh. But he knew this man didn't care for words and nothing Sylvester could say would be heard by this man or his fearsome wolf. Doing as told the woodsman dug into his back pockets and brought out the disc he'd promised. "Here, HM01 just as promised. It'll get you out of the forest in no time at all, allowing pokémon to easily cut through the trees." He had a feeling that would quite suit Tyler. "Erm, well, safe travels..?" he spoke uncertainly, plastering on a forced smile and giving half a wave to the man before disappearing back into the bushes. Sylvester is grateful for getting his farfecth'd back and hands Tyler HM01 Cut!

((Coming from Luminous Vale))Ororo shuffled through the forest, making sure that she was on schedule. The shady glen made itself known once more, Ororo made sure to surpass the area Sylvester was at. She didn’t want him to see her awful timing and pacing. She still had to find another Farfetch’d! Those little beasts were certainly putting her through it. Of course they were known for being quite little devils, much of their species was being killed off due to their deliciousness. This phenomenon helped in their defensive adaptions, making sure they had a quick escape and a strong weapon! Their trusty leek!
As Ororo carefully dodged the acquaintance, she speculated where this Farfetch’d could be? There were only so many places left, with the clue being something to do with berries or fruit, maybe the Orchard was the place to be. The Pokemon researcher tip toed carefully in the darkened night sky, the moonlight was glittering on the dense thicket. Hopefully this quest would be fulfilled sooner rather than later, much was to be accomplished within the week or so. Swiftly and promptly Ororo continued her search, looking at the darkened path up ahead and hoping that what it had was what she needed. Staryu shimmered a dull light along the way, helping Ororo make her way yet trying to be inconspicuous. They wormed their way through the forest, getting closer and closer to their goal. --- ((234 words to incubator))

Damien took a deep breath of the air. It was good to be back in familiar territory -- not that he was ever allowed to go very far into Ilex when he was younger. The place still looked and felt as he remembered it, sneaking around the lighter bits looking for misshapen acorns with his brother. This visit though, this visit he was going to make it all the way through Ilex. He was going to traverse the wood and all its dangers with his new team of growing allies at his side. Damien was going to get to the big city: Goldenrod. He'd heard so many stories about it. While he figured he'd much prefer the quieter areas of Johto like his home town the hustle and bustle of the famous city was still something he'd wanted to experience for years, and now he'd finally get the chance. [break][break]
The forest was quiet, but lively. Distant rustles of activity and the serene undertone of a healthy forest. Each step softly crunched against fallen leaves, twigs, and budding weeds breaking up through the crusted earth of the pathway. At least he shouldn't get lost following this right? The thought tickled at his mind, a momentary pang of worry cutting through as he remembered his recent Union Cave experience. He kinda wished he hadn't given away that Nosepass... but that trainer had been really happy with the exchange so there were no regrets. Though, perhaps he should go get another one sometime; just for the future. [break][break]
As Damien continued deeper into the forest entry he noticed someone else had decided to venture inward today too. "Afternoon!" he called to the dark haired man at a distance. The ranger gave a wave, feeling rather chipper and refreshed with the thought of his coming forest trip. This all dampened however when the other man turned to him with a very flustered demeanor.

"Oh man, oh man, he's gonna kill me..." Sylvester groaned, arms behind his head to pull at his hair nervously. He stood in the middle of the path from Shady Glen, leading towards the depths of Ilex itself. He wore no travelling clothes, and had merely a belt with two worn Pokeballs at it. The way he pawed at them though suggested they weren't his. He treated them much too carefully, as if anything happened to them would hurt himself as well. By the way he seemed to be fretting, it was probably like that anyways. Flustered, he didn't even realize when someone came up behind him. His eyes widened and the boy staggered backwards as he spun to face the ranger. His shoulders relaxed as soon as he noticed the ranger attire that adorned the man's body. "Oh my goodness! Thank you! My prayers have been answered. You're a ranger, aren't you?!" Sylvester clasped his hands in front of him, pleading desperately. "Look, I could realllly use your help. I lost my Pokemon! Well, technically they're not mine, they're Kurt's, and he's gonna skin me alive if I don't get these dastardly birds back!" The words all came tumbling out at once from the frazzled boy. In a few seconds he'd realized he'd forgotten all his manners, and straightened up some to give him some of his dignity back. "Oh, i'm so sorry. My name is Sylvester, look at me, being all rude... I'm just really stressed out. I need those birds back. Azalea needs these birds back. They do a lot of work for Kurt..." Sylvester scratched the back of his neck sheepishly. "Who do I have the honor of mooching off of?"Sylvester listened patiently for a few moments before continuing. "These birds cut down the tiny trees around, and also help Kurt work with some of the apricots. I bet Kurt wouldn't even miss this Cut-HM. He definitely would miss these birds, though. Tell you what! You find those birds, and i'll give you the Cut HM!" Sylvester pulled the plain colored disc from a coat pocket and moved it around in his palm to let it catch some light. Just to prove it was legit. "One of those birds ran off to a section of the forest that his birds, bats and spiders... yuck! I could never go there, i'm petrified of spiders. The other place they're at has the heaviest pinecones, man. I don't know what kind of tree produces them, but they're way bigger than any pine cone i've ever seen. Lots of tall trees there, too." Satisfied he'd given enough information to the ranger, Sylvester allowed himself to relax. "Alright, thank you again! I'll be waiting right here for you to return with those blasted birds! Just knock 'em out, they'll probably run from you otherwise."Sylvester is PLEADING for Damien to find the pesky birds! A tasty HM01 (Cut) could be yours!

The sudden start made Damien recoil as well. He quickly apologized for managing to sneak up on the guy, but it was all quickly glossed over. The ranger was momentarily dumbfounded when Sylvester began, thanking the heavens for bringing a ranger into his company. And it was quickly explained as to why. Damien quietly gasped at the mention of lost pokémon, his grip tightening on the strap of his backpack. While he hadn't ever gotten to venture through here himself, being a resident of Azalea left him well versed in all the stories about Ilex. Anything getting lost in here was no joke. [break] [break]
"Name's Damien," the lad introduced, extending a hand in official greeting. "Don't sweat over the meeting, lost pokémon more than warrants the panic; even if they weren't Kurt's Farfetch'd," Damien continued, a calm smile growing on his face. Kurt was a long standing resident of Azalea and was very well known in the community for his skills and great dedication to the wild pokémon's health surrounding the growing town. The young trainer didn't even need to be told it was those adventurous Farfetch'd. Kurt has had them for ages. [break] "Don't you worry I'll lend a hand in finding them." [break] [break]
As the HM was displayed Damien couldn't resist accepting. He would have searched for the two birds anyway, but that HM was rare and just what he needed to make his trip through Ilex a little safer. Who could pass up such an opportunity? Giving Sylvester an affirmative nod the blue-clad boy went on to describe the direction he saw the Farfetch'd scamper off to. [break] "Is no trouble at all. See you in a bit with some good news!" [break] [break]
With that he started walking. Where..? He wasn't sure. He'd only ever gleamed the edges of the forest where it was relatively safe for someone without pokémon to venture. Still, that was enough to at least have an idea of a general direction to head. He had no idea about the large pinecones Sylvester was speaking of, but the first area he described: full of spiders and bats. If it had bats it was likely a dark place and Damien knew if he followed the path here to the right he'd be heading toward what always seemed to be the darker section of wood from what he remembered. This was certainly going to be an interesting trip.

After her gym battle with Bugsy, Penelope had consulted a map and noticed that she would have to go through Ilex Forest to reach the next city. Once she was by the edge of the forest, she sent out her Pokemon to let them breathe the fresh forest scent. Horizon was fluttering next to her, and the other grounded Pokemon were walking besides her. When they're all out of the Pokemon, she happily introduced them the Ilex Forest and how big it would be. Then, they began following her as she walked with a map open on her hands, still trying to grasp how big this darn forest was. Earlier, she also triple checked that her bag had everything before leaving Pokemon Center. Now, with the next city obscured by the forest maze, she began set foot as she embarked on this winding journey toward Goldenrod City.

It was an absolutely wondrous day, perfect for trekking the outdoors. The sun beaming down its brilliant light was softened by the arching trees of the forest, causing a range of yellow and green to dance throughout the area. A picturesque scene any monarch would be envious of enough to build their own garden in Ilex's likeness, and Penelope was able to share the refreshing walk with her pokémon team at her side. A walk no doubt any grass or bug type would find incredibly welcoming. [break] [break] The young woman wasn't the only one who'd ventured into the forest today though. As she made her way down the imprinted path a streak of red and blue could be seen pacing back and forth in a pleasant clearing. His posture was agitated. Shoulders hunched, arms crossed, head down, and as she continued forward whispered mutters of frustrated groans became audible. Though, once the crunch of twig and leaf of someone approaching reached the man's ears his focus shifted to the girl.[break] [break] At first he just stared, his gaze shifting from her onto the menagerie of pokémon following. Then his mouth grew into a relieved smile. "Oh thank goodness! he cried out, proceeding to relax his posture and bolt toward her. Skidding to a stop a few paces away the boy looked to Penelope with a renewed hope. "You're a trainer aren't you? Probably beat Bugsy even if you're milling about in Ilex. I could really use some help right now, you see, I don't have the hive badge but my job requires me to use a couple of pokémon with cut. It's very important work, for Kurt. You know him?"[break] [break] The boy barely gave Penelope time to answer before continuing his plead. "Kurt's Farfetch'd just don't like listening to me and have run off again! But, I don't have any pokémon of my own so I can't exactly go running off into Ilex chasing after them and they know it. They mock me as they run off and... well... I really need those birds back. Do you think you could do me a huuuuge favor and bring them back?"[break] [break] "Oh! Ah, sorry where are my manners? My name's Sylvester by the way." He extended a rough palm to Penelope for a hand shake, his look of concern being pushed aside for a friendly smile. "I can tell you about where the birds ran off to." He offered. "One ran off to into the darkest part of the forest. You'll know you're in the right place if you can find black acorns. The other Farfetch'd went the other direction toward the area where those super lazy pokémon hang out."[break] [break] [break] Sylvester is requesting help to recover two Farfetch'd [break] Find the birds and bring them back here, either one at a time or together, to receive a snazzy HM! [break] [break]
[break] [break] In another timeline... [break] [break] [break] [nospaces]
Chest starting to feel the burn, Damien ran from the looming dark section of forest back toward the more preferable area. In fact, he though he was starting to recognize some markers... But that was what usually got him lost so he shook the thoughts from his mind and focused on just following the determined hound leading him through the trees. Eventually the leaf cover thinned and his previous suspicions were confirmed: he was back where he had started. It was undeniable, as the blue outfit of the young guy who'd sent him on this little quest through the forest could be seen. Though, the first thought that crossed his mind was doubt: had Booker been following an older trail? [break] [break]
This was put to rest rather quickly. As Damien slowed, breaking into the clearing where Sylvester stood, the Farfetch'd was clearly there; standing winded by the tree cutter's side. [break] "Oh good!" the ranger exclaimed, half laughing before leaning over to catch his breath. "I thought the little guy was just running away." Sylvester was just ecstatic. That was one bird down and one more to go. Damien put his flashlight away as Sylvester thanked him for the work so far, then repeated the hint of where the other Farfetch'd could be found. The ranger gave the other a nod, "Got it. I'll be back with the other one soon," the boy confirmed confidently. Though, as he turned away to consider his path options he quietly admitted to himself he still wasn't quite sure which way to go. [break] [break]
Looking one way he noted the path became quite thick and prickly; not exactly a pleasant trial to take if one was just playing around. Damien doubted the Farfetch'd would have taken that direction, and Sylvester's description didn't match anything down the darkened way he'd just gone, not to mention Damien probably would have found the second one if it had been down there, which left only one way to go: toward the Luminous clearing shining in the distance.

After completing his mission and coming back from the Alola Festival Tyler, Hollenhund, and Mania made their way back to the Ilex Forest so they could find out if the rumors of spirits inhabiting the forest were true. They had not encountered any on the way to recovering the missing Farfetch'd but to be fair they did not go very deep into the forest and they had to pass through it in order to reach Goldenrod anyway so it could be a nice little diversion to test out Mania's Dark Pulse. The move was notorious for causing Pokemon to flinch along with causing high damage and Tyler could hardly contain himself waiting for the chance to try it out.
" If we do run into any of those spirits I wonder what they will look like after getting nailed by this." He said as they made their way to the Dense Thicket.

Penelope listened to the boy, who later introduced himself as Sylvexter, and what his plight was. While she didn't know who Kurt was, she was sure that she'll find out eventually. From her young child's understanding, Pokemon that weren't even his ran off and he didn't have a Pokemon himself to help hunt them down. It sounded like the boy was having some kind of trouble that he can't solve it himself because he didn't have a Pokemon. She nodded and smiled, and when the kid finished, she responded, "Ooh! This sounds like fun! My name is Penelope! I don't know Kurt, since I am from Kalos. However, I would be glad to help you out since I have Pokemon! Alright, so two Far.. fetch'd? Right? One in a place with black acorn and one in a place with... lazy Pokemon? Gotcha! I'll be back in a bit, Syl-ves-ter!"-goes to gloomy ravine-
