Side Quest: The Swaying Tower
Although the Sprout Tower side quest is not mandatory, it is recommended that trainers complete it before challenging Falkner. While on a side quest, your Pokemon will not be healed automatically so any damage or non-volatile status ailments (Freeze, Burn, Paralysis, Poison, Sleep) will be carried into the next battle. Hence, the only way to heal your Pokemon is through the use of items until you’ve completed the side quest.
You may pull out of the quest only in between battles but must start from the beginning if you wish to try again. Items that you received the first time prior to pulling out will not be available the second time round. You cannot complete the quest multiple times with the same character.
Note, that you cannot already have a thread open before starting a side quest so finish your current thread and start a new thread in this sub-board to begin.
Sprout Tower
The Story: Ground Floor
When the trainer first enters Sprout Tower, they will come across a battle scene. A cyndaquil is desperately fighting against two Sages and their bellsprout, holding them back as best it can as it is whipped mercilessly with their brutal Vine Whip attack. The cyndaquil wants to get to the top of the tower to battle its long time rival, the Sacred Sprout, for it has been 5 years since the Elder Li first trained his bellsprout to defeat Cyndaquil.
The Sages quickly surround the fire pokemon and the trainer must convince the Cyndaquil to let them help on its journey to the top of Sprout Tower. How the trainer wishes to do this is up to them to decide. If they are unsuccessful they may still finish the quest without Cyndaquil but will not receive the Pokemon as a reward at the end.
Note, Cyndaquil is LV 7 for the duration of the quest so it will not know Ember

The next floor is laid out as a relaxing nursery for bellsprouts. Though, once Cyndaquil is spotted by Sage Neal he immediately runs to the sprinkler system. The fiery mouse is unable to handle all the water so in order for it to progress further up the tower it will need your help.

Upon reaching the top Elder Li will try to convince you to stop, but failing that will enter into a double battle. If you chose to help Cyndaquil it will insist on fighting. If the fire pokémon faints during battle Elder Li will ask again if the trainer would like to turn back now -- you will not be allowed to send out a pokémon to replace Cyndaquil but can revive it. If you complete the battle without Cyndaquil active in the fight it will not join you afterward.

At the conclusion of the quest, the trainer will find an Escape Rope beside the window to allow him/her to climb out and return to Violet City.
