Estate Plantation Services
Cost for Main Property: £4,000
Cost for Added Properties: £2,000
Berry growing is a fun and productive activity that can be enjoyed by both estate owners and passing travellers so long as they can find an owner willing to lease them plots.
For a one time fee, a section of your main estate property designated by you will be cultivated and tilled in order to support Berry Plots, Apricorn Trees, and Honey Trees. In order to qualify, estate owners must create a new WiP area in their Estate containing [at least] a brief description of the location the plantation will be in, and then post the below form in this thread to be approved by an Admin:
Estate Name:
Estate Owner (Character):
Link to WiP Berry Area:
Apricorn Color(s):
If approved, a member of staff will edit in the plantation resources for you to manage going forward. Note that the intended berry/tree area cannot be locked as it will be necessary to post yours (or if you rent out, others') interactions with the plants whether it be Planting, using Items, Watering, or Harvesting. It is up to you to manage your Plots & Harvest the goods; making sure to keep time records of everything. Use the Pkmn/Item Transfer thread to have the harvested items checked & updated to the proper inventory(s) by a mod.
Honey Trees (Owner & Sharing Characters Only)
Every plantation service comes with the planting of a healthy honey tree. When lathered with Honey various pokémon may flock to the scent, allowing the user the chance to battle and/or capture it. Like any honey tree found throughout Johto it is not guaranteed what will be encountered, and different kinds of estate areas may attract different pokémon. This will be determined upon setup by a Moderator. Once an encounter has finished at a Honey Tree it needs a week break for mother nature to rinse away the old honey residue before new stuff will be appealing enough to lure in more pokémon.
Expanding plots (Main Estate Property only)
The number of berry plots an estate starts with is based on the number of badges the Estate Owner has obtained. Otherwise, if you are interested in expanding the number of plots an estate has you can dish out the cash to straight up buy them as seen in the table below.
Apricorn trees* can only be used by the estate owner and sharing characters, and are based on how many berry plots the main property of the estate has. You can have 1 Apricorn Tree per 3 Berry Plots, or 7 trees if the Estate Owner is in possession of all 8 Johto Badges. Noting that you could pay $11,000 for the 20 Berry Plots, but still only be allowed 6 total trees. The kind of apricorn tree you plant must be determined at the start. Each tree only produces 1 type of Apricorn.
If you want to change any tree later on then you will need to pay a $1,500 fee to have the existing tree uprooted and a new one planted in its place.
# of Badges | Purchase Cost | Berry Plots (Total) |
---|---|---|
0 | £0 | 3 |
1 | £1,000 | 5 |
2 | £2,000 | 7 |
3 | £3,000 | 9 |
4 | £4,500 | 11 |
5 | £6,000 | 13 |
6 | £7,500 | 15 |
7 | £9,000 | 17 |
8 | £11,000 | 20 |
In order to qualify for more land upon gaining a new badge (free) or deciding to purchase more plots, please post in this thread with your estate and character details.
*Properties added to your main/original estate only receive the base number of plots [3] and a honey tree. Their plots do not count toward Apricorn trees.
Renting Out Plots
This is compulsory reading for all estate owners who don't wish to grow their own berry crops but would rather rent out their land to others to make use of. Should you do so, be sure to keep it fair and in line with the following guideline put forth by the Berry Growing Commission:
MIN. £200 < - - - - - - - - - > MAX. £700
Per Plot Used
Per Plot Used
Berry growing is serious business. Anyone found charging below or over this range will be punished with a suitable fine. If you have agreed on renting out land with a visitor, be sure to post in the relevant Transactions and Item Transfer threads when inventory/money updates are needed. Also keep in mind that the renter is entitled to all crop grown should the visitor disappear.
Growing tips
Finally, here are some tips to increase productivity. When planting, be sure to use mulch obtainable from Goldenrod's Florist to significantly increase output. To ensure maximum amount of berries yielded, return to your own estate plot once every 2nd, 3rd and 4th cycle with the aid of a SquirtBottle, also located in Goldenrod's Florist. Simply post in the thread stating your character's interaction so that it may be recorded. This applies to both estate owner and rented plot users who are growing crops.
Please note: SquirtBottles are not required for berry growth but do be aware they increase the maximum number of berries harvested. If you do not own a SquirtBottle, you do not need to bother checking up on them.
