When E3 comes around for this year, we will learn more about the 3DS. They've stated that's when they will be discussing it in finer detail, so they're just leaving us on a cliffhanger for now. It is a common sales strategy to leave the consumer with speculation of what it might be... drums excitement up.

Pokemon Sunday and CoroCoro better have some upcoming news for 5th gen sometime soon. It feels like an eternity since we last got any information on Zoroa and Zoroark. My money's on Zoroark being a very fast Pokemon with above average attacking stat and mediocre everything else. He looks to be a sweeper in my opinion.

Haha! At least they are not revealing pokemon ages before they actually release the games this time! I remember seeing munchlax like a year before the games where released!

I heard that this Pokemon Sunday and the issue of CoroCoro released on the 15th is supposed to have a fair amount of details on generation five! Of course CoroCoro is gonna have more info then Pokemon Sunday.

EDIT: I agree with you Zoroark. I also have a feeling he is going to be a psychical sweeper and probably be as lame as Lucario.

True that. I remember Munchlax and Bonsly being in the Pokemon Colosseum XD game. It always annoyed me you couldn't use them... Or at least... I don't think you could.

The 15th eh? Interesting... Same time the egg painting contest finishes here. Looks like it'll be an action packed day when it comes. If they show us the starter Pokemon early on I can just imagine what all the mock up evolutions from artists will look like.

If Zoroark is a carbon copy of Lucario statwise I am going to punt it over the horizon. I was thinking it might have the move Transform seeing as it seems to be doing a lot of that in the upcoming movie. But... It wouldn't, would it...? That's like Dittos only claim to fame...

And they're confirmed for Nintendo DS? What the hell? This seems all a bit confusing if you ask me. Pokemon's starting to seem like its being churned out a bit too much. By the time this is released we'll have had two WHOLE generations and a remake of Johto.

The whole name thing doesn't fuss me too much its just the direction the series COULD take that worries me. If they're planning to innovate every aspect of what we've come to know then it could create a huge chasm within the Pokemon community.

This worries me even more as i'm just trying to envision just how well they can innovate on hardware that is six years old and we've pretty much seen everything it can do. With a new console on the horizon boasting more horsepower and gimmicks it really does puzzle the hell out of me as to why they just don't wait for that.

...I would laugh so hard if they abandon sprites altogether and go down the DS' 3D graphics route. Imagine all the blocky character models. ;D

Yuck. I hate to be oldschool, but I'm just a fan of the sprites. Didn't they already try that with Pokemon Dash? I've never played it, though, due to the terrible reviews. XD

I think the Pokemon series is just such a huge money-maker that they might possibly be getting greedy and cocky. The more games the make, the bigger than fanbase becomes and, well, the more money they make. That's just one theory.

Anyway, is Bulbapedia or wherever we're getting this info from 100% accurate? Perhaps the information wasn't supposed to be leaked and they're just far-off from releasing the games. The DS is really old - but than again, maybe this Pokemon game won't be the typical RPG's we've all been playing for 11 years?

I'm just being optimistic.

The sprites have to stay. They just ooze so much personality and I never EVER tire of looking at them. If they do a Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon route and swap the colourful sprites with these dull souless looking 3D animations its just going to make me sick to the stomach. I have Pokemon Dash as well by the way. ;D The graphical effects pale in comparison to the 2D spritework.

I wholeheartedly agree with you on the fact this reeks of cockiness and greed. I felt the same way when a third Pokemon Ranger was announced. I'm going to have to check out how many Pokemon DS games there actually are. I'm sure it dwarfs all the other consoles with their Pokemon outings.

The information from Bulbapedia/Serebii/Pokebeach etc is all 100% accurate. It's from a press release that came direction from the official Japanese Pokemon site or so they say. All in all, Nintendo are crazy bastards and usually do some pretty unorthodox things and they pay off. So perhaps it will be good but from the information we've been given my usual pessimistic fear of change personality is in rampant control. D:
