With Andrew's command, Yael quickly hopped her way to the wild Hoppip. Jumping deftly and carefree, the Buneary quickly got close. Then, preparing for a big jump, her two paws also glowed white for the Double Hit. Reaching a height equal to the grass type, Yael quickly punched with one arm while gracefully turning her body and striking with her other arm. "Pip!" the pink Pokemon squeaked in pain, but appeared to be enjoying the battle. Shaking herself by bouncing on the mild wind, the light Pokemon unleashed a cloud of purple powders, poisoning Yael who was right below it. The Buneary's face suddenly turned sickly as the poison powder got into her system, and burped as one of the immediate side effect of being poisoned. The rabbit also bent her ears down, hoping to feel better.
Wild Hoppip- Level 13 15/36Hoppip used a successful Poison Powder! Andrew's Yael- Level 13 36/41Status: Poisoned!Yael used a successful Double Hit! Yael felt sick from poison! OOC: Im not sure if the damage on masara is both of the double hit or just one double hit and I have to count it twice. >_> In the event that I have to count it twice, the damage would be 9 and then 12

The powder instantly took effect, wearing Yael out rather quickly. The Buneary’s cheeks had a slight purple tint which confirmed for Andrew that it had sunk in. “<<It’s like my energy’s slowly being drained,>>” Yael whispered, trying to keep her eyes on her target. “<<But I have to do this.>>” “Ugh. Wow, that’s annoying. But still, don’t worry, Yael. Just hold on a small bit longer and we’ll be out of here.” Reasons to leave Route 32 were beginning to pile up now. Andrew would have no choice but to move on.
Double Hit seemed to have done a reasonable amount of damage which was good news for the rabbit Pokémon. She was finally capable of battling alone now and would be able to get stronger for her trainer. “Ready to finish this? Double Hit, one more time! I know you’ve got this!” Andrew encouraged , realising that she was still extremely under-confident. “<<Mmhmm,>>” the Buneary acknowledged, trying to brush off her worn out expression. The breeze was the only thing that was helping her condition.
The normal-type dragged herself forward, picking up speed as she went to take another shot at Hoppip. The grass-type seemed too cheerful for her liking, especially when it had left her in this condition after the last turn. Yael attempted to focus as she sprung up into the air, preparing to whack the Hoppip down once and for all this time.

Yael...wasn't exactly sure how to feel about Hoppip at this point. Sure, she didn't like it. It had poisoned her, and now it was still beaming as it stared back at her. She was tired because of the Poison...and it was just...well it was still smiling. It hadn't stopped since they had started battling, which was the thing that creeped her out the most. She was feeling woozy, and it was just...feeling. She didn't even know if that was the proper way to describe it at this point. "Pip Pip Pip~" Was it...was it singing? Was it really singing at a time like this? Oh, that was it. Mama said knock you out. Lol jk Yael's mom abandoned her. She was really annoyed, and this wasn't helping. She swayed a little with the poison, but soon decided that toughing it out was more than worth it for knocking the grin off the Hoppip's face. She bounded forward and then sprung into the air, knocking the Hoppip hard to one side with one of her powerful ears, falling back to the earth, then springing up again only to give Hoppip another hard knock to the other side with another ear. Hoppip squealed in pain, falling to the floor after the second hit. Yael seemed proud of herself, once again shaking away the lighthead she felt. Her ears pricked and she looked back at Andrew as the Hoppip was discreetly dragged away by a hungry poochyena. as the Hoppip was carried away by its friends. -------- Hoppip was defeated! Yael grew to Level 16 and gained +2 happiness thanks to her Soothe Bell! Yael wants to learn the move Quick Attack, but Yael already knows four moves. Delete a move to make room for Quick Attack? Kat's Note: My jokes weren't lame I promise what are you talking about pfff pfffffft.

Finally going to use all my old birthday cakes! [x4 to Dario, x2 to Yael] Next, I want to swap their items so that Dario has the Soothe Bell and Yael has the Exp. Share. Please and thank you! <3
Finally, the battle was finished. Yael turned to her trainer with a huge grin. She was trembling a bit from the poison but she looked pleased with herself. Andrew returned a slightly worried smile to show his approval. "Nice! You're getting strong."
The Buneary continued to stare up at her trainer, her eyes wide open. Andrew patted her head lightly and began to start moving back into the tall grass. "Ok, I think we're almost done here but I just want to give Dario one last battle. Yael, relax for a while and let yourself recover." As much a Yael hated to see Dario getting the attention, she was exhausted. 'Ok, maybe I deserve a little break,' she assured herself.
Dario was silent as he floated along next to Andrew. He'd had the same empty expression on his face all day. The two Pokémon seemed to be complete opposites. One was full of energy and desperate for attention, the other was calm and unfazed by pretty much anything.

It would seem as though Andrew's luck in encounters was about to improve a bit as after Yael defeated the Hoppip another Pokemon had been watching from a nearby tree and grew excited by the outcome of the battle. The small avian Pokemon had not seen many Buneary around these parts and it just had to get a closer look at the rabbit Pokemon who had just wanted to get a break from battling for a while. The nosy Pokemon flew down from the tree and slowly walked toward her, Dario, and Andrew from behind completely curious as to why the trainer had picked route 33 for training of all places as it was not usually a popular place for trainers. The Wingull did not waste any time making its presence known as it growled at the group to get their attention as it continued to approach by slowly hopping towards them. By the third growl it finally gave up and went to peck Andrew but before it could do so it tripped on a small rock and landed flat on its face in between the group completely caught off guard. As it recovered from its stumble a bead of sweat ran down its face as it went from having a small element of surprise to being caught defenseless between two Pokemon. The humid weather was not helping any either as it made it sweat even worse as it feared for its life by now. No matter what Andrew decided to do Wingull would not forgive itself for making such an embarrassing mistake. If it did have a chance to battle him it had to win to redeem its pride. A wild Wingull (Level 11) appeared. Would you like to run or would you like to send out a Pokemon? OOC: Each Birthday cake can actually be used on 3 Pokemon. I updated the levels of the ones you selected and removed the cakes from your inventory but you can still select 2 Pokemon for each of your six cakes if you would like, if so just leave a message in your next post and we will gladly update the other choices. I moved the held items as well.Posting this for the record for in case another mod replies first and wonders if the cakes were totally used or not.

Thanks March! I'll keep x2 Birthday Cake for now then and split x4 like this: (Dario and Yael were updated already)
Cake 1: Dario, Yael, Glint | Cake 2: Dario, Yael, Rusty | Cake 3: Dario, Alena, Rayna | Cake 4: Dario, Alena, Rayna |
There was definitely no shortage of wild Pokémon around Route 33. Within minutes, a Wingull had made itself known, although not very subtly. Andrew cracked a smile as the birdlike Pokémon tried to recover from its fall. It was kind of cute how embarrassed it was getting.
"Aww," he commented, feeling a little bad for it. He paused for a moment so it could to make its mind up. Neither of his Pokémon seemed to be giving the Wingull much thought. Yael was exhausted from her battle with Hoppip. Dario, on the other hand, just lacked interest in general.
The seagull seemed keen on battling. It didn't seem very strong but he had been looking for one last battle. "Come on, Dario. You're up." The psychic-type looked its opponent up and down, then turned to Andrew. 'That's it?' The Chingling wasn't easily impressed but Andrew really wasn't making it difficult for him to be disappointed.
"Alright Wingull, get ready!" the trainer warned. "Dario, use Psyshock!"

Wingull was expecting a fight but never in a million years did it expect that of all the Pokemon that Andrew could use that he would pick a small yellow Pokemon known as Chingling. For a few moments the seagull Pokemon looked across at its opponent not even remotely sure if it was a threat or just an adorable decoration. As it studied its foe the small bell Pokemon suddenly started to take in a bunch of psychic energy as Wingull stood by helplessly not aware that it was about to become the victim of a massacre in just a few moments. By the time Wingull decided to use Wing Attack to try and get the battle underway the psychic type Pokemon leaped into action slashing at the bird with a powerful Psyshock. Wingull at first stopped in its tracks standing perfectly still after the impact as shock had allowed it to remain standing for a few seconds before its mind caught up with what had just happened, this was followed by its legs giving out beneath it and a sharp pain in its neck as it toppled over. Wingull had not only been knocked out by the attack but it was lucky to still be alive with how much damage it caused. Had it not been for a flock of Wingull swooping in to save it it might have ended up as lunch for one of the other Pokemon who lived on the route. Dario on the other hand celebrated an easy victory though he did not gain any levels this time around. Dario gains +2 happiness for his victory thanks to his Soothe Bell and now has +10 happiness overall. Alena gained 2 levels and happiness from the Birthday Cakes and is now level 21 with +3 happiness. She is trying to learn Acid but she already knows 4 moves. Would you like her to forget a move so she can learn Acid? Rayna gained 2 levels and happiness from the Birthday Cakes and is now level 21 with +4 happiness. She is trying to learn Take Down but she already knows 4 moves. Would you like her to forget a move so she can learn Take Down? Rusty gains 1 level and happiness from the Birthday Cake and is now level 22 with +9 happiness. She is trying to learn Twister but she already knows 4 moves. Would you like her to forget a move so she can learn Twister? OOC: No worries Andrew, 2 Birthday Cakes were added back to your inventory and all levels and happiness totals have been updated to this point.

Thanks March! Rusty: Replace Tackle with Twister. Rayna: Repace Tackle with Take Down. Alena: Keep old moves. Btw Yael should have gained a level from the Exp. Share, I think. And just in case, I've now changed the time setting to night.
Andrew immediately regretted accepting the battle. As expected, Wingull wasn't strong enough to stand up to Dario. The Chingling unapologetically blasted his foe, knocking it out in a single hit. Andrew really hoped the Pokémon would be alright. Before he could check its injuries, it was carried off by a flock of its species. There wasn't much he could do now. "I kind of feel bad now," he admitted to his Pokémon. Yael hugged him, although it was more for herself than for the sake of the Wingull.
Andrew looked at the red sky. Time had seemed to pass so quickly. It was getting late here. "I know I said that we'd leave after one last battle but I don't want to go home on that note. Besides, the sky looks amazing. Maybe we can sit around and watch the sunset." 'Yes, I like sunsets,' Yael agreed. Andrew retrieved a large blanket from his bag and placed it neatly on the ground. He did some quick stretches and sat down beside his Buneary. He hoped that this would distract him from the guilt.
Dario decided not to join them. The bold-natured Chingling began to wander away. He wasn't sure what had gotten into him but he really wanted another battle. As the sky darkened, some Pokémon began to disappear back to their homes while others finally began to emerge. Dario hovered around, searching for an interesting opponent.
"Right guys, let's go then. Hey, wait... where's Dario?" Andrew grabbed the blanket and frantically shoved it back into his backpack. "Dario?!" 'I'm here, calm down.' the psychic-type responded. He'd been circling the tall-grass, searching for a battle. His trainer was concerned by his behaviour. He had never shown interest in anything to this extent. "What's wrong with him?" Andrew wondered, scratching his head. He cautiously followed, both worried and intrigued by this new side to his Pokémon.

The bell pokémon's energy felt only more vibrant as the night came. An itch he couldn't scratch, like a restless limb preventing one from even contemplating sleep. Much of the route activity had disappeared to the serenity of the eve, the distant hints of wild pokémon fading away with the rise of the more secretive inhabitants. Though, lucky for Dario, one such inhabitant of route 33 had emerged nearby. It wasn't an easy find by any means. The first hints was a faint swish of water from the pond nearby. Easily mistaken for quiet laps of the watering hole. But if one actually listened they'd note that they were rhythmic waves. They were long, and short, deliberate disturbances more like someone rushing a finger through the liquid. Honestly if Dario hadn't been intently keeping all senses keened for the slightest hint of an opponent it was unlikely the group would have been drawn to the water's edge to investigate, and even then spotting the thing gliding gracefully along the surface was a chore in itself. With the pond's surface reflecting the dark sky above the spindly legs and tiny blue bulb of the wild pokémon were a great camouflage. An invisible dancer sifting across making the tiniest ripples as it glided not unlike a figure skater at times. What it was doing was hard to say in the dark, as the pokémon itself was hard to keep up with, but that all stopped when its beady eyes landed upon its new audience. Surskit gasped quietly, stopping instantly and remaining as a statue. As if the lack of movement would mean they'd lose sight of it. A Surskit has been found! (LV 14) ((Yael bumped to LV 19!))

It was amazing how much could differ when someone else led the way. Dario was turning corners that Andrew might never have even noticed. The Chingling finally came to a halt at a small pond. Andrew was amazed at what he could have missed. He took a mental note to allow his Pokémon to lead the way more often.
Unfortunately the sun had fully disappeared. If they'd been here moments earlier, they might have had a more scenic view of the sunset. Nevertheless, it was both beautiful and peaceful. There was something gliding over the surface of the lake although Andrew found it hard to distinguish. He squinted but couldn't decipher what the figure could be. "Dario, is this why you brought us here?"
The Chingling didn't waste time with a response. He had always been a bit troublesome but this was bad even for him. Andrew decided he needed to take control of the situation if Dario was going to insist on fighting. "Alright, well if you want a battle, let's do this then."
Andrew still didn't know what the Pokémon he was facing so he'd have to do some guessing. "It's a water-type – what do you think?" He looked down at Yael who nodded confidently. "In that case, Dario, use Psyshock!" Dario agreed. His strongest move rarely let him down. Hopefully, this battle would give him what he wanted.

Surskit was still frozen as the Chingling seemed fixated on battling it as it slowly lost hope that it could hide by staying still. Even as it finally moved a bit to try and cause Dario to lose track of it but the psychic type was easily able to track its movements with its psychic powers and with its level advantage it was ever so slightly faster than it was. Surskit really did not have a lot of options to defend itself either as the pond did not have very much natural cover none of which would do any good against a psychic type attack. As if all of that was not enough to deal with Dario's trainer had already ordered him to attack. Surskit had next to no time to react so it tried to summon up a quick Bubble attack to desperately try and defend itself but by now it was much too late as Dario fired off a wave of psychic energy aimed right at the bug type with no chance of avoiding the powerful wave of energy. Surskit took a direct hit and was sent skidding across the water coming to a stop on a sandy bank unable to move as it was in a terrible amount of pain. Even if Surskit had a bad day Dario was about to have a fantastic day as he started to glow in a bright white light. Unless Andrew intervened quickly he was going to evolve. He was not the only Pokemon to celebrate either as Yael gained a level from the Experience Share she was holding though unlike Dario she did not start to evolve. Even if only one of his Pokemon was about to evolve the easy victory still had been quite a nice gain for the young trainer. Dario Gained 1 level and 2 happiness thanks to his Soothe Bell and he is now Level 22 with +12 happiness. Dario is trying to evolve. Do you want to stop the evolution. If you allow him to evolve Dario can learn Extrasensory but he already knows 4 moves. Would you like him to forget a move so he can learn Extrasensory? Yael gains 1 level thanks to her Exp Share and is now level 20.

Forgetting Wrap for Extrasensory and Dario and Yael are switching items! I can update it though, thank you!
Andrew had seemingly made the right call. Dario's Psyshock blasted the figure across the pond, leaving it unable to continue battling. The Chingling's body then began to emit a bright light. 'No no no!' Yael pulled at her ears with stress. Now Dario was going to get all of the attention. "He's evolving?!" Andrew was shocked but now at least he could finally understand the motive behind Dario's strange behaviour.
The glowing figure became longer and more grownup like. As the light faded, a blueish-white Pokémon was revealed. "Nice! Congratulations Dario!" Andrew applauded, giving the Chimecho a thumbs up gesture. Seeing his reaction, Yael began to panic. She rushed to the psychic-type and grabbed his Soothe Bell, exchanging it her Exp. Share. 'Okay, whatever,' Dario muttered, seemingly back to his unenthusiastic self.
"Yael? What is it now?" Andrew questioned. The Buneary waddled back to him, holding up the Soothe Bell. 'Please, let me have one more battle too.' Andrew could tell she was jealous. "Okay, Yael. One more battle and we'll call it a night. We can always train again tomorrow." The Buneary cheered, hugging her trainer's leg before prancing around the tall grass in search of a final battle.

The bright light from Dario's evolution was more than just a pretty sight it also served as a beacon for one of the nearby Pokemon to come and see what was happening. It was always looking for an audience for its famous hit single and knowing that bright light was no mere illusion the very vocal Pokemon walked towards the source of the bright light only to see Andrew and his Pokemon finishing up their celebration of Dario evolving. With all the excitement in the air the pink Pokemon thought that a musical number was the one thing missing to make it a perfect celebration. As it prepared to sing however its tiny foot like stub got caught in a small hole in the ground. As Jigglypuff tugged at the trapped appendage the grunting sound it made gave away its location. It was so busy trying to free its foot that it could not even sing a note as Yael bounced over and covered the pink Pokemon's mouth so it would not be able to sing at least until the battle started. With both its surprise song thwarted and it being unable to sing Jigglypuff grew upset as it looked right at Yael ready to slap her across the nearby pond to get revenge. Little did Jigglypuff know however that Yael was a far higher level than itself and picking a fight with the rabbit was not likely a good idea for its own health. Had it known just how powerful Andrew's team was it might have backed off when it had the chance but without that knowledge Jigglypuff was not going to let the cancellation of its solo opera performance go unpunished. A wild Jigglypuff appeared, would you like to run or would you like to battle? If you would like to battle please select a Pokemon.

It was difficult to spot any Pokémon out in the darkness. Andrew and his team mostly had to rely on noises. Yael's long ears made her the most sensitive to sound. She frantically searched around, spotting a nearby Jigglypuff that had just gotten its foot caught in a small hole. The Buneary charged at the normal/fairy-type to cover its mouth and prevent it from singing. She didn't want to risk losing this opportunity to battle.
"Oh, another Jigglypuff! Looks like you've got your battle, Yael." Jigglypuff looked extremely frustrated with the rabbitlike Pokémon's behaviour. Even in the dark, Andrew could see that its face was after turning a bright shade of red. "Oh, it does not look happy. Let's make this quick. Yael, try a Double Hit." Andrew instructed.
'Wow, calm down! Someone has a temper problem.' Yael removed her hand from the Jigglypuff's face and prepared to attack her opponent. The pink Pokémon's attitude made her lose any feeling of guilt she had towards battling a Pokémon much weaker than her.

With its foot dipped in a hole and a rabbit covering its mouth the poor pink balloon's only response was to puff up her cheeks in a fluster. A low hum of annoyance emanated from the wild pokémon, those big round eyes cut across in a harsh glare through the dark. If her foot wasn't stuck in a hole, why... the things she would do! Before those stubby pink arms could swat the buneary away Yael removed herself and started to gear up for her attack. The jigglypuff was rather slow, turning her head down to her foot and putting all her attention to pulling it up with a soft *plop* and gaining her footing. Pleased with that minor triumph the fairy pokémon let out a puff as if in signal that they could now begin. And it did. With a swift hook careening into the balloon pokémon's temple throwing her head down back to the ground followed up by a rapid uppercut Yael sent the ball of hot hair soaring through the air. The distance made it hard to see exactly once the bright pink body was obscured by a bit of greenery, but the tumbling was well audible; as was the soft lap of water near the end. VICTORY!
Yael grew to LV 21 and gained +2 Happiness! (+10) What's this!? She's trying to evolve! Will Andrew stop it? If not, she will try to learn Return; forget an old move? As well, Lopunny's abilities are Cute Charm & Klutz -- please choose one to replace Run Away Dario grew to LV 23 thanks to EXP Share!
