PidgeyName: Hokori Gender: Male Level: 5 Ability: Tangled Feet Attacks: Tackle, Sand-attack Nature/Personality: Very prideful, and rather rude, Hokori is protective of his “flock”, as he has deemed Haley and her Pokemon. Haley and her team cheered as she caught the rude Pidgey, whom would be useful against Falkner. “What should I call him?” she asked her team, and all went silent, waiting to hear her verdict. “How about… Hokori? It means pride.” All her Pokemon chuckled softly at that, and she smiled. She let Hokori out of his Poke Ball, and he flew up into the tree, staring down at them before nodding, as though saying ‘this might work’. Haley chuckled, and grabbed a red bandana from her bag. “I’ve been meaning to do this. Honou, come here.” The fire type stepped forward, and Haley wrapped the bandana around her throat, smiling proudly and watching as Honou played with it. “Come here, Flounder.” She muttered, and tied a bell to the tip of his tail. The normal type shook his tail and laughed, bouncing back to let the next Pokemon take their turn. Stumpy limped up next, and Haley leaned forward, putting a fake wooden leg in place, securing it tight around his shoulder. Stumpy took several steps, and smiled when he realized it was weight bearing. Sensei hopped forward, and Haley pulled the owl into her lap so that he stopped bouncing. Haley fixed a bracelet around each leg, one reading ‘Sensei’ and the other reading ‘Haley’. To everyone’s shock, Hokori was called down. He fluttered down and landed on her leg. “I had this made in case I bought a bird type like you.” She carefully strapped on a light harness, and he took several test flights before nodding and leaping up onto her shoulder. All the Pokemon cried their thanks, and Haley stood, leading them along the path, until the sound of someone walking had her pull them off into the bushes. ‘I’m going to join Team Rocket anyway, why not practice?’ She thought. “Hokori, I want you to fly across the road, stun that trainer. Flounder, follow and grab a Poke Ball when she’s stunned.” The two nodded, and Hokori flew across the road at full speed, nearly knocking over the poor unfortunate trainer who was about to lose a Pokemon. Flounder bounded behind, quickly snagging a Poke Ball when the trainer was distracted, bringing it back to Haley and pressing it into her palm. Once the girl was gone, unnoticing of the Poke Ball missing from her pocket, Haley stood and walked out onto the road, her group of five following behind in anticipation. Who would be their next partner? She pressed the button, and the light formed a small, shrew like Pokemon- a Sandshrew! It tilted it’s head at Haley, and she smiled, kneeling down and reading the name off the Poke Ball. “Welcome to the team, Sandy.” OOC: Meh, my own twist. Why not?

"Heh. Kid didn't your parents ever teach you not to take things that don't belong to you?" He was one to talk, but this was something the kid didn't have to know. Stepping out of his hiding place among the bushes, a red-haired male, much taller than Haley appeared before her. On his shoulder rested a Totodile, who was normally much crazier when it was on the ground. "I saw what you did. And that wasn't too nice now was it...tch. You're looking too young to be stealing things kid. Don't try to be an adult, let alone a bad one." He grabbed Totodile and threw him onto the ground, the crocodile promptly got up and started dancing around with a repeated chant of its name. "Maybe you should think about punishments before you try acting tough. I can send you crying home to mommy though, and if you're lucky I won't take that Sandshrew from you. It's got to much use to be something that belongs to a sniveling little brat." The Sandshrew trembled. She wasn't quite sure of what was happening, all she knew was that whoever this was, she was her new trainer. ------------------------------------- Passerby Boy has caught you in your little stealing act, and wishes to battle! He sends out Totodile ♂(Level 9)

Haley’s head snapped up at the sound of a male voice, looking around to try and find out who had caught her. All her Pokemon tried to see, but the boy walked out of his hiding spot. “I don’t see how that’s any of your business.” she growled softly.
She curled her lip at the other boy, and all her Pokemon, minus Sandy, rumbled threateningly. “Some things make you grow up earlier.” Haley snarled, eyes following the Totodile. “And it’s impossible to send me crying home to mommy,” her voice twisted into a bad impression of his, “if I don’t have one.”
Haley ran down her hand along Sandy’s back, and the Sandshrew rubbed her head against her head. “Ready to battle?” her voice had gotten softer and kinder. “Now use Poison Sting!”

"Heh, you don't have a mommy? I can send you home crying to your daddy. If you don't have parents, I'll just send you crying to Pokemon Center," Silver while didn't scoff or laugh at the fact that Haley don't have parents, he still remained an expressionless face. Then, he looked at his Totodile and ordered an attack, "Use Water Gun already! Can't you see it's a ground type?"Sandy, the stolen Pokemon, went first toward the Totodile. Opening her mouth, the shrew fired some poison barbs toward the baby crocodile. The Totodile hopped quickly, switching from one foot to the other, and dodged most of the Poison Stings. Some did brushed by its scaly skin, but none made it to inject the horrible poison to his body. Then, the water Pokemon hopped close to the Sandshrew and fired a direct Water Gun. Sandy was hit and cried in a "type disadvantage" pain. Haley's opponent finally laughed, saying, "I think I sent your Pokemon crying!"

Haley bared her teeth in a smirk. “You’re overconfident, fire head. I’m willing to bet that Totodile is your only Pokemon, but I have, count them, six. So even if you take out Sandy, I’ll have five more to back her up!” She chuckled, and all her Pokemon cheered in agreement. Sandy smiled softly, happy that, although the lady had stolen her, her and her Pokemon were kind.
The Sandshrew couldn’t help but shudder at the odd feeling of the poison barbs leaving her mouth, the mad taste of them remaining in the back of her throat. Her eyes followed the Totodile as it managed to dodge most of the barbs, most of them missing but some burying themselves in it’s scales.
Sandy gasped, and tried to dodge the badly damaging water type move, but was unable to, and couldn’t help but cry out as the water worked its way into her scales, causing her discomfort and pain. ‘Shrew!’
“Sandy!” Haley cried, seeing her new Pokemon in pain. She fingered a potion, but decided not to use it. “You can do this! I want you to use Scratch!”

"Tch you've got to be kidding me, six pokemon? I'll plow through all of them if I have too. I picked my Totodile for a reason when it came to battling because I know it's going to be strong. Stronger than any of your weak pokemon. I bet yout hat they're all weak like that sandshrew." Silver said as he seemed to save Totodile from a beating this round since they were doing alright. Any one wrong move and the Totodile would have been stomped on by its tail or some other area on its body. The tail was probably a guarantee since it was the closest thing to Silver. "And it's not fire head it's Silver, get it right kid." He said with a glare, as he looked back at Haley. "Totodile use another water gun!" Silver called out towards his pokemon. But it was too late for Silver to go first, Sandshrew got the first move in this one as the Sandshrew went first and barreled down at the Totodile. Sandshrew brought her arm out forward and three claws glowed brightly as she swiped at the Totodile. Swiping it right on the cheek and it winced heavily from the pain. Now it was Totodile's turn as he inhaled a large amount of air before sending it straight at the Sandshrew. Sandshrew hated water like all ground or rock type pokemon as it was a strong attack, the Sandshrew tried to dodge the attack but it did not come. The sandshrew was soaked when the attack was over and was starting to pant heavily now. It just barely hung on from the last attack. "You were saying about having more pokemon? You might want to think about switching this one out soon or let me faint it." Silver said already starting to admire his work but it might be a bit too soon for victory for him.

Haley’s lips screwed down slightly at his derogatory comments of her team, but chose not to respond. But when he spoke poorly of his own Pokemon, she couldn’t keep her mouth shut. “A Pokemon is only as strong as it’s trainer. So your Totodile will only be as strong as you.” She growled. “Nice name,” the sarcasm was obvious in her voice. “And it’s not kid, it’s Haley.”
Her lips quirked up into a smirk when Sandy went first, barreling forward and using her sharp digging claws to land a hit on the opposing water-type, whom cringed in pain. “Keep steady!” she cried as the Totodile launched a Water Gun that the Sandshrew was unable to dodge. She crossed her fingers as the Sandshrew dug her claws into the ground, leaning into the Water Gun.
“Sandy, you can do this!” she cried to the panting ground type, choosing not to switch out. If it came to it, she could revive the digging Pokemon. Sandy nodded, looking at her over her shoulder and wondering what she was to do next. “Use Poison Sting!” she ordered. She crossed her fingers in hopes that the poison would take.

"Tch, whatever, I don't need to know your name once I bear you. Totodile, finish this Sandshrew with another Water Gun!" Haley's opponent replied, completely not putting her in his eyes. Sandy struggled with the last bit of her health, doing whatever she could to continue the battle. Focusing her aim toward the Totodile, she opened her mouth and fired some thin poison barbs. The water Pokemon tried to dodge, but was hit! The Totodile scrambled to pull out the barbs, but it was too late and the reptilian felt sick. Its expression displayed an ill and distressed face. "Heh, lucky you. Totodile, finish up this Sandshrew with a Water Gun!" Silver ordered. Totodile, despite being sick, did as his trainer had wished, and fired the final water gun. Haley's newly stolen Pokemon fell to the ground, completely unconscious. Then, the Totodile felt sickly again as the poison ran through its circulation. The crocodile stumbled a little before faking an "Okay" face. "Come on, send out your next Pokemon for me to faint!" Silver taunted once again, smirking with an evil grin.

“You can do this, Sandy!” Haley cried to her obviously struggling Pokemon, knowing the ground-type wouldn’t make it past this round. Sandy looked at her over her shoulder, panting, but smiled softly before taking in a deep breath and launched the poisonous barbs. The Sandshrew swayed after the attack, leaning back on her tail as she tried to catch her breath.
“Good job!” Haley cheered, her team echoing her as they watched the struggling Pokemon. Sandy smiled softly, and Haley’s pulse quickened as she realized the poison had took, and the Totodile was slowly losing health as it ran through its body.
Though her attack had landed and done its part, Sandy was too exhausted to dodge the damaging move, and was sent backwards into Haley’s legs. “Sandy!” Haley cried, leaning down and picking up the Pokemon in a cradle hold, calling her back into her Poke Ball. “Good job, you deserve a rest.” She turned to Stumpy. “Stumpy, it’s your turn! Use Quick Attack!”
The three-legged Bidoof limped forward and nodded his head.

"Tch, you're fighting me with an amputee? Totodile, Water Gun again!" Silver scoffed again at Haley's choice of Pokemon. First she used a type disadvantaged ground type and now a Pokemon with missing limb? The handicapped Bidoof apparently somehow managed a Quick Attack. The attack was almost like a sneaky quick attack, though. The beaver made use of his three legs and managed to give the Totodile a Quick Attack. Then, after being hit, the Totodile retaliated with a Water Gun attack. However, the water Pokemon was severely weakened by its poison. The crocodile's face was grim and ill as it made a disgusted face by the poison running through its body. "Totodile, don't let the stupid poison get to you! Or are you another weakling?" the redhead finally showed some concern for his Pokemon, though it might be too late.

Haley merely smirked as he spoke, calling up another Water Gun. She knew what Stumpy could do, and she trusted him to do it. Stumpy bared his teeth at the opponent, knowing that he could far more than that dumb creature, and that the opponent’s trainer had underestimated him.
Stumpy lifted the false leg off the ground- though it may have helped him before, during a Quick Attack it would burden him. He dug in his claws and launched himself forward, limping slightly, racing towards the water-type. Turning his good foreleg in, he slammed into the Totodile.
“Good job, Stumpy!” she cheered, and the normal type smiled before being struck in the face with a Water Gun. He went wide eyed, shocked, before shaking the water off his pelt. Her eyes narrowed as Silver spoke to his Totodile. “By calling him weak, you are calling yourself weak. Now Stumpy, use Quick Attack!”

For a Pokemon with only 3 legs, Stumpy could really run fast. Channelling all of his power into his leg muscles, Stumpy sent himself hurtling at Silver's Totodile. Stumpy slammed head-first into the small blue croc. Already weakened by the poison in his system, the Totodile collapsed in fatigue. Silver, fist clenched, pulled out the Totodile's Poke Ball and called it back. "Dammit! Dammit, dammit!""Lost to a three-legged rat. Damn weakling," Silver muttered as he pocketed the Poke Ball containing his only Poke Ball. He was half-tempted to release the stupid lizard and let it die out here. But it was his only Pokemon, and going around with no Pokemon to protect you was practically suicide. Fishing through his pockets, Silver pulled out a wad of money and threw it in Haley's general direction. "Take your prize. But just know this. You haven't seen the last of me. I will be the world's most powerful Trainer, with the strongest Pokemon. And I will have my revenge against you one day."Silver turned around and walked away, furious both with himself and his Pokemon for a loss. Battle!

OOC: Not meaning to mini-mod, but shouldn’t Stumpy have learned Defense Curl? Cause at Level 9, Bidoof learn Defense Curl.
Haley and her team cheered loudly as the Totodile finally fell, taken down by a Quick Attack. “Great job!” All of them called in their own dialect. They all felt a bit of pity for the suffering the Totodile was likely to receive due to their win, they knew it could fight back if it so wished. They all, excepting Hokori, raced forward to congratulate him on his first trainer battle. Haley grabbed Stumpy and ruffled his fur. “Thank you, Stumpy, you were amazing.”
Hokori, while everyone was congratulating Stumpy, fluttered forward and picked up the tossed cash. He flew back and deposited the money in Haley’s palm. She quickly pocketed it, and gave Stumpy a few more pats before straightening. “Let’s see if we can’t catch one more teammate, okay?” She spoke, and her team agreed. She began to walk along the path, looking around for a catchable Pokemon.

Haley and her Pokemon all had their time to celebrate the victory against Silver. It was this celebration that caught the attention of a nearby Pokemon. The Wurmple had been hiding in the bushes in fear ever since the red-haired Trainer had arrived. Just earlier that day the boy named Silver had forced his Totodile to brutally injure some of the Wurmple's friends and just left them there. Seeing the girl defeat the cruel boy, Wurmple decided to come from the bushes. When Haley declared her intent to find another Pokemon to catch, the Wurmple looked to the girl. Did it really want to go with this girl? Sure she had defeated that jerk Trainer, but maybe it was a fluke. Sure, the Wurmple thought it would be nice for revenge against the boy for its friends, but it was just as content with its life in the wooded area it now called home. Wurmple soon made sure to catch Haley's attention. It would just test her before making up its mind. A wild Wurmple (Level 6) appeared! Choose a Pokemon to battle it!

Haley cuddled Stumpy to her chest, Sandy on her shoulder, still praising them as they chattered happily. Sandy had decided that she liked the thief girl, and she was kinder than her old trainer. All her Pokemon walked around her- Sensei hopped alongside her, Hokori rested on her head, Honou clung to her back, and Flounder peeked out from her backpack.
Everyone jumped as a Wurmple suddenly appeared, calling out to draw her attention. Her eyes widened, and she smiled, making two decisions. One- she would catch one of the Patrat’s that had gotten free, two- she would catch two Wurmple so that she could have a Dustox and a Beautifly. She decided to try not to harm the Wurmple, and pulled an empty Poke Ball off her pocket, lobbing it at the Wurmple and hoping it would work.
