Granted, the wild Tentacool was not a boot, but it still was quite the good kicker. Tentacool may not have legs, but the ability it had to fight was almost unmatched when it came to the other Tentacool within the pond. The only thing that pushed this Pokemon around had to be the Qwilfish, but since they're basically being fished to extinction, it doesn't matter now does it? However, the squid Pokemon was angry. Every time some human was -lucky- enough to fish it up, they were always disappointed that it was a Tentacool instead of something amazing like a Gyarados. Well, let it be known to all who fish up this particular Tentacool. It possesses the rage of a Gyarados. Tentacool immediately went on the offensive, let out it's gurgled cry angrily while Tyler fussed at his Pokemon. Blitz did as he was told, readying the sonic attack, ready to deal some hefty damage to the jelly-fish-squid thing. The air waves rattled around towards the jellyfish, and even though it didn't have visible ears, the force of the waves and the sound of the screeching made the jellyfish double over in pain into a slimy puddle. When it had the strength to get back up, it weakly sent over an attack of poison needles, which to the Pokemon's surprise, bounced off of the Pokemon's shiny, metallic body. With a few tings, the attack had left the Pokemon unscathed while the next turn would probably be the end for the proud Tentacool. {OOC: Just as a side note Blitz grew to level 16 after fighting Shellos but since Sonicboom has set damage and Poison Sting does nothing it does not have much of an effect on this battle.}
IC:
After watching Sonicboom hit it's target Tyler wished Blitz knew a stronger set damage attack but at the same time was glad to see Tentacool get back up. Knowing that a Tentacool could only be encountered by fishing or surfing meant that not every trainer could run into one and that someone would be willing to pay for one that someone else captured. The young man knew that if Team Rocket did not want it that he could always fry it up and sell it as food at the next fair but in either case he had to capture it first which was not the easiest thing to do as it still had a decent amount of hp left. Tyler did manage to buy a few pokeball's from the pokemart however which he knew would make it a little easier to capture the poisonous pokemon.
Before he tried to capture it however he just had to make out a point that the Tentacool would do well to follow if it wanted to survive an encounter with another Steel type. "Since you do not seem all that bright I want to give you a small tip. Poison type moves do nothing to a Steel type so that attack you just launched was pointless." He said as he grabbed a pokeball from his bag. He did not want to anger the Tentacool to much to make it harder to capture but he did want to give it a piece of useful advice."Alright as much as I want to lecture you on type effectiveness I think I will just try out this pokeball and hope for the best." The young man said as the pokeball started flying towards Tentacool.

The Tentacool seemed clueless to what was going on as the Pokeball slapped it over the head. It was sucked inside in a matter of seconds, and Blitz didn't seem to mind the fact that it had been shut up inside, in fact, the Magnemite was quite indifferent too it. The Pokeball hit the ground and wobbled around, much like any other capture that would have gone on. It swished around like the Pokemon inside wasn't going to give up,and the attempt was in a way, sad. Blitz seemed to be suggesting that it just stop struggling. The silence was soon deepened. The ball gave a final click and was shut tight, now, signaling the capture. Blitz buzzed and used whatever metal the Pokeball might have had in it to attract it over to its magnet, dropping there for Tyler to have. There was nothing new for him to learn now, so he just waited for Tyler to do what he had to so they could move on. Tentacool was a nice addition to the team, but Blitz didn't seem to realize, that these Pokemon could be found everywhere...in the water. ______________________________________________________ Tentacool was captured!! {OOC: I would like Blitz to forget Metal Sound Please. TentacoolName: Inky Gender: Male Level: 11 Moves: Poison Sting, Constrict, Super Sonic Ability: Clear Body Nature/Personality: Modest } IC: Tyler reached down and grabbed his pole as the pokeball disappeared. Knowing that it was going to be digitally transferred to his PC he knew that he could concentrate on fishing some more. Blitz had gained a few levels but Tyler still wanted to raise the magnet a few more levels before training another pokemon on his team. He knew that if Blitz evolved into a Magneton before he faced Bugsy that he would win with ease especially if he managed to find a TM for Thunderbolt but for now Thundershock was sufficient. Regardless of when Blitz learned Thundershock Tyler still wanted to snag a Qwilfish even if he had to sit in the same spot of a year to do so. "It's only a matter of time until I manage to hook me a big one but until then if makes great target practice for Blitz." He said as he got ready to throw the line back in the water. He had heard that Qwilfish had been seen in fewer and fewer numbers and he wanted to snag one before they all disappeared as there were bound to be trainers in the area looking for one. He then watched as the hook sunk beneath the waves and knew that it was all up to luck now. "Now we have to wait and see if we get another bite. Another but a Qwilfish you can take out with a Thundershock attack Blitz." The young man said knowing that most of the pokemon in the lake were not too valuable. "I do not care if you have to fry every fish in this lake so long as we hook a Qwilfish." The young trainer said with a smirk grin on his face.

Shaking his head off to the side, the fisherman from earlier who had failed to introduce himself, was seen staring at Tyler's exploits. Hoisting up his cap and giving his forehead a good rub, he seemed to be judging the competition to also hook themselves a Qwilfish. Unfortunately for him, a large number of the stuff he had been fishing out with his expensively fancy rod was nothing but rubbish. An old rubber boot, a plastic beer holder and surprisingly a magnet were but some of the not so extravagant spoils he had fished out. By now, the man was fuming, his face as red as a volcano. "You still rilin' up those fish, BOY?! Whaddi'd tell you about scarin' them off for us other fisher types?" Shaking his head, he attended to the line on his fishing rod but soon piped up again as he noticed he was going in for another cast. "So, you're a determined one are ya? I can't for the life of me imagine what you'd do with a Qwilfish." Falling silent, he added on some bait to his rod and prepared it for casting. "Me? I love me some Qwilfish. Something about their spherical appearance and the jagged points. Real character there. Only true connoisseurs understand it." Throwing his line in, he rubbed his nose and focused for a few seconds before shooting off his mouth again. "Don't think i'll be beat by ya in tryin' to get one, hah!" Silence fell on the jetty once more as both of their fishing rods seemed to float on the surface of the water, perfectly still as time itself seemed to freeze. Only the sound of trainers fighting off in the main land route itself behind them could be heard. Lazing back into his seat, the fisherman let a yawn escape his mouth as he stretched out his arms, it was the perfect circumstance to get a dead joint what with sitting still in one place for so long. And then it happened. As if being tugged simultaneously at once by some freaked two headed aquatic leviathan, both of Tyler's and the fisherman's rods plunged into the lake itself. Jumping up from his seat, the rival fisherman seemed very alarmed. "Its a Qwilfish! A QWILFISH! C'MOOOON!" Now struggling to reel his in, his eyes seemed to wonder from the prize as he noticed what Tyler was up to. Somehow reigning in the monstrous fish from the deep in much quicker despite the difference of quality between their rods, the rival was shocked, so much so he almost lost hook of his mystery capture. Lifting it up in the air with some force, Tyler's catch came splashing out of the water and flying into the air. As if time slowed down into slow motion, the fish came into the centre of attention. Writhing around majestically, it turned out to be nothing more than... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... The suspense killing you? ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... A Magikarp. Bursting out with a howl of laughter, the other fisherman couldn't get over the excitement building up to be nothing much to note. "Bwahahahaha! Oh! That is too funny!" Holding his sides as his super rod went into auto-reel mode, he started to realise his catch was near enough ready to give in. Grabbing both hands on his rod, he lifted with the strength of Hercules himself and yanked out the troublesome quarry. And what exactly had he fished out you ask...? ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Hello it's me again, suspense ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... A shopping trolley. Throwing his rod down to the side at the reveal of his capture, the fisherman seemed to succumb to his unearthly rage. "ARE YOU FREAKIN' KIDDING ME?! A TROLLEY!? GAAAAAHHH!" Bouncing up and down and beginning to shake the wooden panelling of the jetty, the man's movements mirrored that exactly of the Magikarp Tyler had hooked. More so, the colours of the two were completely matched what with the fish's red scales and the man's red jacket. Having been ignored at the expense of what the rival fisher had caught, it seemed the feeble Magikarp was getting impatient with just flopping around there. Encounter

Tyler had been waiting patiently hoping to capture a Qwilfish. He figured that since he needed to train his team anyway he might as well capture an uncommon pokemon so he could sell it for a quick buck at the black market. Before he could even get his thoughts together on what he would sell a Qwilfish for his rod started to shake. Whatever was on the line seemed to be putting up a good fight before it finally came up to the surface. Of all the pokemon in the lake he had fished out the weakest one of them all. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME." he screamed as the Magikarp just started to splash around. Upon hearing the laughter of the fisherman next to him he waited to see what he would get before making another comment. Then seeing that the fisherman captured a mighty shopping trolley at the end of his line Tyler busted out laughing. "That is 2 successful catches for me and zip for you at this rate you might get a Qwilfish before the next century." he said hating his own catch.
The one good thing about Magikarp is that it evolved in Gyarados which was quite powerful by comparison and remembering that fact Tyler figured it may be worth capturing after all. Blitz would knock it out with a Thundershock but Sonicboom may just be weak enough to hurt the fish without knocking it out. Knowing that Magikarp was not known for it's hp or any stat outside of it's speed when frightened and it's alright defense which neither were very respectable given it's overall stats. It may be true that Blitz was not a speed demon but at least Magnemite had power to make up for it along with a high defense score. Tyler knew this would be an easy battle but he also knew Blitz would barely benefit from it.
"This may be the last fish you will gain a level from so you had better not disappoint me. It is bad enough that you are still quite a way from becoming a Magneton." The young man said growing impatient with his pokemon expecting them to evolve quickly so they would become more powerful. He knew how strong Megneton was and that having one to face Bugsy would give him a huge advantage along with his Charmeleon but he was still a little ways from being able to challenge him. For now capturing a Qwilfish was at the top of his list. He did not plan on leaving until he captured one and it it meant he had to drink the lake dry he would do so.
"Alright I wasted enough time thinking it is time to send this fish to Davy Jone's Locker." Tyler said as Blitz was about to launch a thundershock attack. "No you idiot that will kill it and it can evolve into a Gyarados use Sonicboom instead." The young man said hoping it would not knock out the little red fish.

As if sensing it were being judged, Magikarp began a painfully slow advance towards the trainer whose hook remained in its mouth. Tyler wouldn't know what hit him when the red fish delivered unto him a Tackle that would rend the heavens themselves asunder. Such fierce determination was almost admirable, although Tyler wouldn't be able to discern that by how pathetic the Magikarp was acting at the moment.
It was flopping even more erratically as it realized it was out of the water entirely and would probably suffocate. This had stopped it from advancing further, making it a huge red target for Blitz. The Steel-type's magnets had begun whirling wickedly fast, churning the air and sending a sonic blast shrieking through the air at the wriggling fish struggling for air on the planks.
As soon as the attack hit home, the Magikarp flopped a good six feet into the air and wheezed as it fell back hard onto the deck in a most unpleasant manner. It began flopping about even more, attempting to amaze with a Splash attack. But this did absolutely nothing at all besides make it a laughing stock in the eyes of those watching.

Tyler was hoping for a good show as he watched the Magikarp flop around. "Hard to believe this useless fish becomes a Gyarados they are almost polar opposites of each other I mean just look at the dumb fish flop around acting like it is doing something." The young man said as he though about kicking the fish in the face for being so useless. The only reason he did not do so was that knowing his luck the kick would cause a freak mutation that would cause it to evolve early and he would have to deal with a Gyarados. He still laughed at the things pathetic attempts to move about as he waited for Blitz to launch Sonicboom. Upon impact he though the fish was going to go flying into the woods with how high the force sent the fish but luckily for him it did not.
What made this all worth it however was watching the attack made by Magikarp. All it did was splash around with a terrified look on it's face. Given the shape it was in this came to no surprise to Tyler since he knew he could finish it off but he had a better idea. "If it weren't for the fact that you could evolve into Gyarados I would finish you off but since Gyarados is useful you might just be worth sparing." Tyler said as he grabbed a pokeball from his backpack.
Tyler figured that capturing Magikarp was worth the price of the pokeball even if it was currently a worthless pokemon. He then looked at the half dead fish before he threw the ball at it. "Go pokeball time to snag me dinner." he said as he waited to see if the capture was successful.

The Magikarp sincerely wished that it could move, or even breathe, right now, because if it could, it would slap the life out of that electric thing. Despite how pathetic it was, the weak fish hated being called "weak". Yes, it knew that it was weak, and that it would never be able to evolve on its own, but that didn't mean that it was completely useless! Gasping out a ragged breath, the Magikarp swore that someday it would prove everyone wrong. When it evolved, then they would be sorry...
But the fish's thoughts were cut off as a red-and-white ball bounced off its head. Oh, so now they were throwing things at it? Great. How could this get any more humiliating?
No sooner had that thought faded into oblivion when the Pokeball opened, sucking the weakened fish inside. Yes, it was possible for this to get worse. If the Magikarp didn't break out now, it would never be able to face the other wild fish again. It would always be "the fish who was too weak to break out". As the ball snapped shut around it, the Magikarp struggled valiantly, but it could tell that it didn't have enough strength to escape.
A flash of light engulfs the Pokemon, sucking it inside the red and white orb. Snapping shut, the Pokeball falls to the ground. Tyler waits in anticipation as the Pokeball rocks on the ground, the wild Pokemon struggling to escape. ... The Pokeball twitches once... ... Twice... ... A third, violent shudder rocks the ball before... A red light flashes on the middle button and the ball is still! Congratulations!Magikarp joined the party has been captured! Magikarp's data was added to the Pokedex. Give a nickname to the captured Magikarp? OOC: Thank you for the reply Schuylar. I have to check if it has been 24 hours yet but I do plan to give you a point for this reply. MagikarpName: Sushi Gender:Male Level: 8 Attacks: Splash Ability: Swift Swim Nature/Personality: Adamant IC: Tyler watched as the Magikarp disappeared into the pokeball and watched it shake hoping to capture it so he could continue fishing until he got a Qwilfish. Once he heard the ball click shut he knew that he had succeeded in capturing the Magikarp and that he could now try his luck at fishing again. So far his luck had not been that great but it had at least been better than the fisherman next to him. Tyler did not know how the fisherman kept going after his horrid luck but he had to admit the guy had patience even if he clearly did not have any luck as a fisherman. After Tyler watched the poor fisherman throw his line back in the water he figured it was now time to do the same with his line as well. The young trainer wished he had a better rod than the one he had as his was barely hanging together after his last catch as Tyler was beginning to wonder if his rod would last long enough to be able to upgrade to a good rod. As it was currently he did not have enough experience on his current rod and none would sell him an upgraded rod so for now he was stuck with his old rod until he gained the respect of the store owners who carried the better rods. He wanted to prove to everyone that despite being a member of Team Rocket and a Dragon apprentice that he could also be a skilled fisherman as well and catching a Qwilfish would certainly help improve his reputation as a fisherman even if it would take more than that in order to be able to buy a Super Rod. After daydreaming about how many admirers he would have for a few moments he decided to sit down and hope he got another bite. He wanted to keep his bite streak going since he knew that every fish he caught was one less Qwilfish imposter in the lake and that sooner or later he would hook the fish he had sought after.

After reeling in his hook which had latched onto a shopping trolley, the fisherman beside Tyler muttered nothing but expletives as he began the horrid task of untangling his line from the metallic frame and getting his hook back. This task took the entire time of Tyler's battle, the trolley being angrily tossed into the bushes behind the male once he had done. Breathing out heavily whilst readjusting his cap, the man looked over to the young trainer, shaking his head from side to side as he retrieved the Pokeball which held the Magikarp, know known as Sushi. "You aint gonna be able to do anything with that Pokemon, boy. Magikarp are useless in battle, I mean, whats the point of splashing?!" Mumbling on to himself as if having first hand experience in the koi looking creature, he sat himself back down onto the ground, attaching some bait onto the end of his hook and tossing the line firmly back out into the jetty, hoping his luck would start to shine through.
"Not like Qwilfish, they would never let a trainer down. Poison things to death, they do." Wanting to concentrate on the fishing, the man couldnt help but wonder if Tyler would actually hook one of the spikey urchins first and that, quite frankly, worried the man. He couldnt be shown up by some kid, so perhaps a bit of useless banter was in order to distract him. Thinking to himself, he suddenly went back to the conversation of Magikarp. "Y'know, Magikarp are useless in battle. I said that before, right? Not many people are patient enough to dish out a little time, care and love to evolve it into a big ol' Gyarados but once it is one, it's deadly. You think you could get one, eh lad?" Suddenly, from the corner of his eye, a blue tail flicked out from the water and swam frantically towards Tyler's hook, ripples on the water's surface showing it's path. Automatically thinking it was a Qwilfish, the fisherman's jaw dropped, hand letting go of his rod wearily as it clenched into a fist, "You little..."
Whispering under his breath, the man's attention elsewhere meant that he had left his own rod unattended. Staring with wide eyes as Tyler began to tug furiously as his bite, the boy drew in his catch only for it to turn out as... a Poliwag! The little tadpole was confused, to say the least, as it's feet touched solid ground. Jumping nervously as it's eyes wandered between Tyler and the now laughing fisherman. "BWAHAHAHAHA! Look at that baby!" Looking over his shoulder, his laughter soon turned into a yell as his rod was almost dragged into the water by a tough catch. Jumping from his spot and grabbing his rod, the fisherman roared as he heaved his rolled, pulling out his own capture right into the air, a Qwilfish! About to yell, skip and dance with excitement, there was no way his luck would last, a mere glimpse of the fish were all that the gods were willing to offer him. Due to his slow acknowledgment of the bite, the Qwilfish had already wriggled free, falling back into the water safely as the hook landed on dry land. Well, atleast Tyler had a battle to take care of as the fisherman had his tantrum.

Tyler watched as the fisherman struggled with the catch he had made. To Tyler's disbelief the fisherman hooked a Qwilfish however the poor guys luck was about to change as the clever fish quickly got loose meaning the contest to hook and capture a Qwilfish was still on. "You may have gotten lucky enough to hook a Qwilfish first but a catch only counts if you hold onto it." he said laughing as he himself had yet to make a mistake. What really got him going was the fisherman's comment about Magikarp. "True Magikarp are not very powerful at all only sunkurn has lower stats however I know for a fact being a Dragon apprentice that I can raise it into a Gyarados as it is one of the few non Dragon types that we love in Blackthorn as well as Charzard due to their Dragon like traits." The young man said as his own line began to shake.
"OH BOY it's a Qwilfish I just know it." Tyler said as he reeled it in only to discover that it was only a Poliwag. The young trainer may have been disappointed with his catch but at least he did not let his get away unlike the fisherman. Knowing that the Black Market was always looking for rare pokemon he could evolve it into Poliwrath or Politoad and then sell it for big bucks and still make out pretty well in the end. "You may not be worth as much as Qwilfish on the Black Market but you should still sell pretty well once you evolve." The young man said accidentally forgetting that there were other people around. Hoping that the fisherman did not hear him mention the Black Market Tyler then ordered Blitz into battle.
The little magnet did not like the way Tyler treated it at all however being the loyal pokemon it was Blitz obeyed the command to fight Poliwag even though it did not like hurting other pokemon for no reason. "This is another pokemon that should be worth sparing Blitz so just use Sonicboom again." Tyler said hoping that Poliwag would lose enough HP so he could throw a pokeball next turn.

The hooked Poliwag wasn't looking to forward to the clear intent this Trainer had to Battle it, with his Magnemite at that, after getting fished out of it's home, it was going straight into Battle with an Electric-Type Pokemon. Not a good start to the day at all, but it also knew that Magnemite were fairly slow, so that could help it keep out of too much trouble, or at least that's what it was hoping would happen.
The Water-Type Pokemon jumped forward in an attempt to stall the Magnemite with it's attack, before Magnemite could do anything. It was going to try a Hypnosis, putting the enemy to sleep would keep Poliwag fairly safe for a while, that was if it worked on this thing anyway. But the Poliwag began to use it's limited psychic abilities to make the swirl on it's stomach appear to be rotating, which would draw the vision of anything looking in it's direction for the Hypnosis.
Blitz fell right into it, dropping out of the air as it's eye closed. It was sleeping before it even hit the ground, and so it failed to make it's attack. Poliwag was practically giddy over the fact that Hypnosis had worked on the Electric/Steel-Type Pokemon, but now it would need to figure out what to do with the opposing Pokemon.

{OOC Thank you for catching that I do not know how I missed that I would like Blitz to forget Tackle please. Also on a bit of a side not I will be gone until Wednesday so there is no rush to reply to this or my other thread.}
IC:
Tyler could not believe his eyes. A little tadpole had just put his fridge magnet to sleep using Hypnoses before Blitz could even launch a move. "Argh why are you so slow you useless piece of never mind you should be able to last a while against that thing even if you are asleep." he said as he though of what to do next. He figured the best move that Poliwag would know was bubble which should not be too dangerous for a turn or two so he knew there was time before Blitz would be in danger. He decided it was best to keep it out and hope the magnet would wake up before it was too late but he had healing if it had to be used.
He did not care for the Poliwag much but he liked how sneaky it was and any trainer would probably love that it knew Hypnosis at such a low level as it could be used to buy a few turns to heal another pokemon or even to use a Dream Eater combination attack. He himself had no pokemon with the move Dream Eater but he knew there were people with pokemon that could learn it so he figured that would up its value a little bit. The only thing he had to worry about was getting Blitz to wake up and show Poliwag the power of a Sonicboom. The bad news was that Hypnosis lasted at least 2 turns so he knew Blitz would not even wake up this turn.
"Looks like this little pest is gonna get a free turn but I am not too afraid what other surprises could a tiny thing have like that if it is forced to use such a sneaky move on the first turn." Tyler though to himself as he waited to see what else Poliwag would come up with. "Blitz you had better wake up soon or else." The young man said impatiently.

For all of Tyler's bellyaching, it wasn't going to be enough to stir his steel encased Pokemon from slumber. Normally, most animals in the world required sleep as a fundamental means of keeping themselves alive by keeping their functioning skills optimum. Surprising as it was, the same was also true for robotic and machine like Pokemon such as Magnemite. Although boasting a higher endurance it meant they could outlast your typical living creature but if they went without a quick recharge of their batteries so to speak, the results would be fatal. Now comfortably snoozing, Blitz didn't seem to want to stir at all having been gifted such a nice sight by the tadpole Pokemon. At this moment, Blitz was about as useful as a paperweight. A poor one at that as the feisty little Poliwag was about to make it soaking wet. A sodden, damp paperweight was hardly of much use to anyone. Paddling its little feet on the floor, it seemed to be working up its innate ability to conjure forth water. With a sudden gush of spit flying from its mouth, it kept its aim affixed to the Magnemite, although it was half tempted to divert its aim and flood the loud mouthed trainer. Not only had he started this whole battle but he was heckling his own Pokemon. Eventually slowing down with the flow of water, the Poliwag was half tempted to run while he still had a chance but he knew too well what happened to deserters in battle. Wild Battle
