Haley found herself muttering, more to herself than to Denki, who trotted at her side, or Sandy, who she carried in her arms. The cave was rather intimidating, with jagged rocks sticking from the ground. Both she and Denki, especially Denki, had to be careful to watch their steps, lest they hurt their foot on an errant rock.
Denki huffed, his way of agreeing, his head turning as he scanned the room. Zubat perched on the ceiling, wings wrapped around themselves. He thought he could hear something eating something crunchy far away, and if his suspicions were correct, not all of those rocks were rocks.
“And that means there should be some great Pokemon here, too, right?” to this, Sandy nodded, chirruping in her agreement. She leaned forward in her trainer's grip, scanning the room.
A long time had passed since a trainer had visited the Mysterious Cave. It's location combined with the poor lighting conditions were certainly factors in scaring away most visitors. As Haley entered the cave there was dead silence. As the Mysterious Cave rarely received visitors there was little surprise in that fact. The Pokemon who lived in the area tended to be quiet unless they were either disturbed or fighting for territory. After being in the Cave for just a little while it seemed to come alive with noise as if the inhabitants had noticed Haley. Groans and moans could be heard coming from deep within the cave and despite the small amount of lights something seemed to be moving around as if it could still make it's way around the cave despite the poor lighting conditions.
A moment later what appeared to be a boulder rolled in front of Haley. Although it looked just like a boulder it quickly revealed itself to be a Geodude."Geodude" It said as it stretched out it's arms. Noticing Haley it started to yawn as if she had woken it up. As it finished yawning if started to float around her and her Pokemon as if it was curious to see what woke it up. It did not see too aggressive until it noticed Sandy. Geodude then started to punch to walls surrounding Haley as if it wanted to fight.
A lv13 Geodude appeared and would like to battle.
Ooc: It has been quite a while since I last modded someone so please forgive me if I messed something up.

Haley frowned, straining her eyes as there was a scraping sound on the cavern floor. “You hear that, Denki?” The canid looked up at her and nodded, then looked back to the sound, perking his ears in search of the source of the noise. He plodded forward to investigate, ready to fight at a moments notice.
However, it was unneeded, as what appeared to be a boulder tumbled down a nearby incline, slowing to a stop in front of the thief. A pair of 'muscled' arms appeared, pushing it into the air, where it remained somehow, before stretching with a yawned “Geodude.”
It yawned once more, seeming to notice her for the first time. It floated around her, Denki, and Sandy as though curious. However, as soon as it laid eyes on Sandy, it went nuts, beginning to slam its fists into the nearby rock walls. “Whoa!” she cried, staggering back and nearly falling as she lost her grip on the cane. Denki raced back, leaning against her and serving as a grip to help her regain her balance. Her red eyes stared at the boulder before turning to Sandy. “Wanna battle?”
The Sandshrew shook her head violently, clutching onto her jacket and burrowing her head into her. The girl chuckled, shaking her head. “That's what I thought.” she thought for a moment. Denki would be next to useless on a Rock/Ground type. She dug into her pockets, praying briefly. 'Please, please, please, please.' Suddenly, her finger brushed against something cool and round, and she pulled out a shrunken Pokeball.
She pressed the button on it, which grew it to full size. Now she could read the Pidgey-scratch writing above the button. “Taka,” she murmured, before breaking out in a grin. She reared back, bringing back the Poke Ball before hurling it forward. It popped open to form a lizard, with a large leaf as a tail.
Ooc: So that was an intresting round. Both moves rolled maximum damage. 28 damage for absorb and 21 for Rock Throw. That is what I call going all out at the beginning.
Geodude was in disbelief as the battle began. Of all the Pokemon it would have to fight it had to be a Treecko. Geodude had never had any problems with anything except for the occasional Aron but this was just about the worst luck it could have hoped for. Sure Geodude had a tiny bit of confidence due to it's slightly higher level but that was soon dashed upon hearing Haley's choice of attack. Absorb was known for being a dangerous attack to use on Geodude and it regretted picking a fight with her but it was too late to back down now. Before the boulder shaped Pokemon could make any attempt to dodge Treecko fired a green light at Geodude and began to suck energy out of the rock and ground type Pokemon. As Taka finished it's devastating attack Geodude was very angry. Knowing there was plenty of Rocks around the cave it decided to use the terrain to it's advantage.
Geodude picked up the biggest rock it could find and flung it straight at Taka's face with all of it's might. The Rock Throw attack hurt quite a bit as both Pokemon had started to breathe heavy. Taka seemed to be breathing a bit lighter but still was in a lot of pain. The Two Pokemon had a feeling that this would be a rather short battle. After such a lighting first round it was unlikely either Pokemon would take another hit. As both Pokemon began to catch their breath Geodude looked over at Haley with a very angry face probably mad at the trainer for using such a painful attack. It just hoped it would never again pick a fight with a trainer before knowing how strong their Pokemon were.
Haley was amazed as she watched a beautiful, bright green light shoot from Taka, lighting up the room with a dark green tint, before enveloping the Geodude. It seemed to soak into it, leaving it with a glowing residue as the only sign of the attack. However, only moments later the residue pulled itself off and reformed the light, rocketing towards Taka. It struck his tail, causing the large leaf to glow. The glow spread to the Treecko, energizing him, although there was no damage to heal.
She cringed as the Geodude began to hurl rocks at her precious partner, striking him perfectly in the face. “Taka! Are you alright?” she gasped, barely restraining herself from racing forward to check the wound. That looked very painful!
Taka looked back at her and nodded, clutching the bleeding wound. “Ko ko, Treecko!” Which basically translated to 'don't you dare switch me out!' Haley snickered and grinned, understanding him.
She dug out a Poke Ball from her backpack, tapping it once to grow it to full size. “Poke Ball, let's go!” She hurled it at the Geodude, praying that it would work.
Geodude's mind began to race and the next round was about to begin. It knew that it could not outrun Treecko and it was not quite as strong either. It's defenses simply could not keep up with it's dual weakness to Taka's grass type moves. It began to think of ways to try and slow Taka down to try and give itself a chance to win the battle but it did not know anything that would slow Taka down and Defense Curl would not help protect it from Absorb so things were looking pretty unfortunate for Geodude. As it tried it's best to just keep floating in the air to at least make a brave last stand it knew the end was near. It braced itself for what would surely be the knockout blow. As it braced itself it could not believe that Haley was going to try and capture it.
The gotta catch 'em all attitude was to strong to resist. As Haley threw the Pokeball Geodude tried to get out of the way. It was in too much pain to move very far however and the ball hit Geodude in the right arm. Geodude then disappeared in a red flash into the Pokeball. The boulder Pokemon shook violently trying to escape. It tried everything it could to break free. The Pokeball shook many times before finally clicking shut while causing a loud echo to ring throughout the cave. Securing Geodude in the Pokeball and bringing the battle to a close. Geodude had fought well but in the end Taka and Haley had proved too much for the young Pokemon and it now belonged to her.
Taka fought bravely and gained 3 levels. He is now level 14. He also gained +1 happiness.
Congratulations Geodude was captured!

His favorite thing to do is curl up into a ball and roll down an incline. If he's not doing this, he's causing some sort of innocent mischief.
Haley watched with glee as the Geodude was enveloped into the Poke Ball. “C'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon!” she pleaded, crossing her fingers and clutching her hands to her chest, looking like the child she hadn't been in a long time. “Please please please!” Okay, so maybe six espressos were too many, but she needed to get psyched up to go into this creepy cave. But she was starting to feel it, the caffeine running through her veins, bringing her inner child to the forefront of her mind.
The Poke Ball shook many times more than usual, the red light flashing with an intensity she had yet to see. Her heart pounded violently, seemingly in synch with the capture device, thudding loudly in her ears. 'Please, please, please.'
Treecko and Denki found themselves glancing at their trainer. They didn't like her like this. They preferred her as she acted normally, with her defenses up. Seeing her act her age was... odd.
The Poke Ball dinged loudly, the sound echoing loudly in the cave. Haley grinned wide, laughing. “Good job Taka!” she cheered. She pulled out her Poke Dex and entered the new Pokemon's name in her Pidgey-scratch writing, glancing over his gender, attacks, and abilities, before hitting ENTER.
Haley crouched down slightly, putting up her hand as an offering for a high-five. Taka bounded up to her, excited to make his trainer happy, and clapped his hand against hers. The girl slung him up onto her shoulders, and began to advance deeper into the cave.
OOC: I am so sorry for that bad mod post I did earlier. I'm out of practice with end-of-battle posts.
Ooc: That is perfectly fine. I am still kinda rusty myself. Slowly getting back into the swing of things. By the way you have really good luck. You just rolled Dunsparce despite it's 1/16 rarity.
The mysterious cave grew silent as Haley picked up the Pokeball. As she laughed and celebrated a successful capture there did not seem to be anything else alive. The eerie feeling of emptiness in the cave did not last for long however as she advanced deeper into the cave. Just a few minutes of walking was all it took to cause life to spring back into the cave. Sounds could be heard echoing off the walls and roars from different Pokemon could be heard. Sounds of rocks falling from the ceiling were the least frightening noise that could be heard.
As Haley continued to walk deeper into the cave a rather unique noise could be heard coming from straight ahead. It sounded like something desperately trying to escape by digging. Although a few Pokemon may be able to dig this noise was the unmistakable sound of a Dunsparces tail. As Haley kept walking she nearly tripped over the mysterious Pokemon in front of her. The poor thing was terrified and digging it's way out was no longer an option. Realizing this it backed up against a wall. It clearly was scared but knew it could only escape by somehow defeating Haley.
A level 12 Dunsparce has appeared. Please select a Pokemon to battle.
Once more, Denki was the first to hear the sound of something digging. He slowed down from his happy trot, perking his ears and looked around. However, the light from his electricity didn't expand far enough for him to see more than a slight dark blob far up ahead. The Electrike cocked his head, trying to figure out if it was a Pokemon or a boulder or a lost, lumpy old mattress. As he was unsure of what it was, he didn't alert his trainer, although he increased the sparks bouncing off of him in case it was a Pokemon preparing to fight.
As they walked deeper into the cavern, the ground began to grow more treacherous, rocks like spikes sticking up as though trying to trip them. Haley, so absorbed in attempting to keep a steady footing, didn't notice the sound of the drilling until she was practically on top of the Dunsparce. She looked up and around, completely missing the normal-type, several strides ahead. Denki had lagged behind by this point, limping after having stepped on a sharp protrusion.
However, the thief did when she tripped over the small dragon, crashing down to her knees. Denki yelped, racing forward and stepping on Taka, whom had fallen off his perch when she fell, in his haste to help her up. She used him to push herself up, the cane and canine helping greatly. Haley looked up and saw the Dunsparce, cowering against the cave wall. Briefly, she felt guilty, but she really wanted to capture it. “Taka, use Absorb!” she called. The Treecko jumped forward with an excited cry of his name.
Dunsparce taking notice of Haley's multiple Pokemon had a feeling today was not going to be a good day. With it's back to the wall it had nowhere to run or hide and Taka looked like he wanted to fight. The poor dragon snake hybrid was caught between a rock and a hard place with a well trained Treecko looking it down ready to pounce at a moments notice. Dunsparce was not known for it's sprred or bravery but today this Dunsparce had to grow a pair and fast. Dunsparce tried it's best to put on a brave face but had no heard Haley's order or even notice Taka take off until it was too late. The gecko Pokemon fired a green pulsating orbs that surrounded Dunsparce and Taka began to suck on the orb. The only bad news was that Taka had full health at this point so it did not provide him with any energy.
Dunsparce angered by the attack began to think of a plan to deal with Taka. It could not outrun the gecko but it did have a secret weapon. Dunsparce were known for their Rollout attack which they learn when they are young. Sure the snake knew it took a bit to gain enough momentum to do a lot of damaga but it was also psychological warfare to see something roll towards you. As the snake started to roll Taka tried to move out of the way but his foot got ran over at the last second. He let out a small whimper as he grabbed his foot. He was pretty steamed that the snake would run over his poor foot but waited for Haley to give an order before doing anything else.

Dunsparce : | Level 12| Health: 88% (43/49 HP) Status: Normal What happened!
Haley's Taka : | Level 14 | Health: 87% (34/39 HP) Status:Normal My poor foot!
Haley raised a brow as she watched the Dunsparce suddenly begin to roll towards the Treecko. To be honest, it was rather humorous, as at first it was more a flopping motion as it attempted to gain a rhythm. However, it soon gained traction and tucked itself into a tight ball, folding its wings down and tucking in its oddly-shaped tail. Surprisingly, it rolled easily along the ground, not being harried in the least by the sharp protrusions. “Taka, move out of the way!” she ordered, and the grass-type jumped away, but was too slow, his foot being caught by the attack.
Taka jumped up and down, howling in his own tongue and clutching at his foot. He glared daggers at the Dunsparce, and was wanting to launch himself at it, but he wasn't going to show a hot-head.
“Taka!” Haley ordered. Absorb hadn't seemed to do much, so... “Use Pound!”
“Gladly!” retorted the Treecko, preparing the attack.
As Haley and Taka stood rather suprised at Dunsparce's ability to turn itself into a Pokemon bowling ball and move at a suprising speed that even rivaled Taka Dunsparce had already began thinking of what to do next. By all means the first round had been intresting but Dunsparce really wanted to see how tough Taka truly was. The bad news for the strange looking Pokemon was that minus the speed it had when doing Rollout it usually could not keep up with Taka so again it knew the gecko would make a strike before it would get a turn but Dunsparce did not mind as it planned to teach the grass type a lesson in not underestimating your opponent.
As Taka received his orders he ran at Dunsparce again how had been motionless after hearing Haley speak. It thought the trainer was going to try to capture it and as such all of the serpent's attention was directed to Haley. Taka managed to slap the Dunsparce's face with his large green tail using Pound. As Dunsparce felt it's face stinging it finally realized what had happened and the snake grew outraged at Taka. As it had worked so well last time Dunsparce rolled up into a ball and began to roll towards Taka at high speed. This time however it seemed to pick up speed faster than the first time.
As Dunsparce became a bowling ball of destruction it rammed Taka head on causing more damage than the initial hit. Taka was in a state of mental shock from the power of the attack. Dunsparce was finally showing it's true power and even smiled as it realized it now had the upper hand. Taka and Haley now really needed to do something to turn this battle back in their favor or things may get ugly.
Wild Pokemon Battle
Dunsparce : | Level 12| Health: 76% (37/49 HP) Status: Normal Put up your dukes!
Haley's Taka : | Level 14 | Health: 64% (25/39 HP) Status:Normal Why are you so tough!
Haley couldn't help a smirk as Taka attacked the motionless Dunsparce. What had it been expecting? A hug? Taka also grinned, bounding back to his place in front of her. This was fun, and he was finally showing her he was better than that dumb lizard or that crazy rat!
Haley flinched as the Dunsparce rammed him, catching him off guard, and Taka howled several obscenities in his own tongue. “Ow ow ow ow ow ow OW! Why you little-! I'll get you for that!” he shouted, not waiting for Haley before launching an Absorb attack at it. What better attack than one that steals the opponents health? He'll tell ya: none!
As the third round was about to get underway Dunsparce was beginning to think that Rollout was not going to be enough to win this battle. The serpent Pokemon was pretty pleased with the damage it had done but it was still not enough to knock out Taka. The serpent was beginning to think this battle would never end as it carefully watched the geek's movements hoping to find a good moment to strike.
Before the snake could do anything however Taka used his amazing speed to strike first. Like before he shot a green sphere towards the Dunsparce scoring a direct hit. As the glowing green sphere radiated around Dunsparce some of the energy flew back towards Taka recovering some of his health. As the sphere began to fade Dunsparce was understandably angry at the gecko and was ready to give it all in the next attack. With eyes that were full of rage Dunsparce looked over at Taka before folding up into a ball as it began to roll towards Taka.
The speed was very high and poor Taka could not jump out of the way. The Rollout managed to steamroll across his body as Dunsparce slammed into a wall after scoring a direct hit. Despite the massive collision it did not even seem to phase Dunsparce at all who had just unfolded back into it's normal shape to see the results. It was upset that Taka was still standing but the attack had clearly winded the poor gecko as it could hardly stand.

Ooc: I did this post on our new tablet so please let me know it something does not work correctly as I wanted to see how well it works.

OOC: Wow, you did that on a tablet? Dang, those things are hard to type on! Props to you!
Haley grimaced as she looked at poor Taka. He was doubled over, barely able to stand. Wheezing breaths bounced against the walls of the cave, the acoustics making them much louder than they actually were. The gecko struggled to straighten himself, but still slouched, bent at the shoulders.
She looked at the Dunsparce. It had surely taken some damage, but looked much too healthy for the average Poke Ball.
She dug through her pockets, and then through her knapsack. C'mon, she had to have something! Her fingers brushed something cool and metallic, and she dug it out. Yes, a Great Ball!
“Taka, stand back!” The girl called, and the Treecko happily complied, leaping out of the way of the capture device. She grew it to full size, cocked back, then released the Poke Ball in the direction of the Dunsparce.
