Coming out of the secret entrance from the underground gauntlet, Tobias shifted his eye from side to side to ensure he wasn't going to be jumped by any of the associates of the event. Considering he had just destroyed a good part of the illegal fighting pit and disgraced a number of the members there, it wasn't too far off a thought that some revenge might be on their mind by jumping in. Seeing that nobody was out to get him, Tobias pulled a semi content expression before placing his hands into his trouser pockets and walking on. " I think now would be best to return to base and analyse our findings and integrate them back into the P-Z programming." Taking a turn around the corner as he attempted to find himself back up with the main tunnel parade, he had ignored the presence following him. Having been taken in by the sight of Tobias smashing through the opposition, a wild Pokemon which had been cast off as a stray for a number of years had decided to follow this odd character. The Pokemon bounded after him stealthily and peered around the corner to see where Tobias was. Deciding to be stealthy, this canine didn't want to be on the receiving end of a hyper beam. Leering its only good eye, the Pokemon was none other than a Growlithe. It had lived on its own and been left to its own devices having gotten used to the hard nosed lifestyle of Goldenrod itself. Trying his best to remember what route the janitor had taken him, Tobias was getting evidently frustrated with ending up in all too similar areas with every path he took. " Curses, i'll be trapped down here for days... That trickster." Pinning this all on the janitor's swift walk to the gauntlet, Tobias stopped and decided to take out a cigarette to calm his nerves. Allowing Prometheus to alight the smoke, he put it into his mouth before turning and noticing the stray Growlithe following him. " Hm. It appears a mongrel has been following us." Unsure of where this Pokemon came from, Tobias was half tempted to dispose of the creature like so many other wild beings he had come across but something had piqued his interest about the dog. Understanding it to be a Growlithe, it had a strong affinity with the fire type. Saved by this simple fact, it meant Tobias was now rather intrigued on obtaining the Pokemon. " Come here." Clicking his fingers and motioning the Pokemon to sit before him, the Growlithe let out an excited pant before dashing over and neatly sitting in front of Tobias; happy enough he had not been vaporised. " Hmph. Good. You follow orders." Leering his eye with deathly silence, he eventually broke the lack of noise by issuing another order. " Roll over." Surprised such a prickly customer as Tobias would issue an order, the Growlithe simply followed and rolled over. " Play dead." Dramatically leaping into the air and then laying perfectly still, Tobias was glad the Pokemon was intelligent enough to follow orders. " Sit." Taking out a pokeball from his briefcase, he captured the Pokemon with no resistance. " To think a Pokemon would be found down here. With some smarts at that..." Placing the Pokemon away, Tobias returned the Pokemon out from its captivity in order to make use of it. " You. Surely you must be familiar with these tunnels. Return us to the main shopping parade." Letting out a bark, the Growlithe bounded off and stopped as soon as it reached a fork for Tobias to catch up and follow. Noticing the wounded lack of an eye, Tobias felt some resemblance with the creature. Eventually, the loyal Growlithe had helped Tobias back onto the main underground tunnel. " Finally." He murmured, watching as other living souls walked by. "Now time to exit out." Letting the Growlithe accompany him, he began moving along the lengthy tunnel to make for the exit.

As Tobias and his newly captured Growlithe headed from the exit the people around them suddenly began to flee in terror as a foul smelling purple fog filled the air. Shortly after the fog appeared a disembodied voice could be heard off in the distance. " Tooooobbbbbbiiiiiiiiaaaaaassssssss yooooouuuuuu killllleeeeddd myyyyy frrrriiiiieeeennndddsss." For a short time afterwards there was silence before the fog began to materialize as a single organism. As the purple fog revealed it's true form the Pokemon looked rather angry at Tobias as it slowly approached him. As Gastly approached it began to speak in a spooky manner. " I saaaawwwww yoooooouuuuuuuu kiiiiiilllllll myyyyy poooooooooorrrrrrrr frrrriiiiiieeeeeeeeennnnnnnndddddddssssssss in that wretched gauntlet. I shall take yoooooouuuuuuuurrrrrrrr life to avvvvvveeeeeeeennnnnnggggggeeeeee them." Gastly then caused the tunnel to become as dark as a moonless night as it unleashed a night shade on the lights in the tunnel. Gastly felt right at home in the darkness as it was a creature of the night. The ghost laughed at the man as it floated around his head in the darkness as it hoped the lack of light would give it the upper hand in the upcoming battle. The spirit believed it would be invincible in the dark so it was feeling pretty cocky as it spoke for a final time. " If yoooouuuuu give up noooowwwww I maaayyyy let yooooouuuu be my slave. If yooooouuuu do not however I will have to destroy yooouuu and yooouuurrrr spirit for what yoooouuuuu have done to mmmmmmyyyyyy frrrriiiiieeeennnnnddddddsssssss." As Gastly finished speaking it's eyes began to turn as red as blood almost as if somebody had stabbed it in the eyes and they were very hard to miss in the darkness. Gastly was a spirit of it's word however and it waited to hear Tobias's choice before attacking. A wild level 19 Gastly appeared. Please select a Pokemon for battle.

Observing everyone running in fear as the foul stench of smog filled the air, Tobias gagged almost but remained firm by taking a deep inhale of his cigarette. Letting the nicotine smoke fill his lungs was enough to allow him to stand his ground. Unsure as to what this horrid stench was, his mind had brief returns to his time at the Unova Festival when he met the mugger. The smell was almost similar but not quite the same. Shaking his head, he gritted his teeth and cursed out. "And what tomfoolery is deciding to get in my way now?!" Suddenly hearing a voice, he perked his ears in trying to find it. Both his Pokemon appeared to be unnerved by the dread filled voice. Malik lowered his head and began growling in a disturbed manner whilst Prometheus shuffled up closer to Tobias' face whilst flicking his eyes from side to side shiftily. "Who goes there?! And to know my name...!" Glaring his eyes, he yelled out once more. "Hypnotica... If that's you messing around, so help me... Hm?" Silence flooding the tunnel, Tobias looked around before coming face to face with the ethereal source of the disembodied voice. Noticing it was a Pokemon approach him, Tobias noted its species. "A Gastly."
Unsure of how to respond to the entrance of this ghostly creature, he remained firm in his stance and decided to see what it would say given that it was sentient and able to speak. Not a particularly good trait in a Pokemon for Tobias as to him, they were nothing more than glorified tools. Listening to the spirit's words. "Hmph. Avenge? Those sorry fools? They had it coming. What hypocrite lauds the thrill of white knuckle battles and no holes barred only to be crying like a petulant child when things don't go their way?" Steadfast as the lights themselves failed and lit up with the glow of nightshade around them, Tobias stared the ghost down with his steely eye. "Slave? A SLAVE? Do not make me laugh. If anyone is to be a slave, it's you worthless tools. For my own purpose." Deciding to take this ghost down a peg or two, he grabbed a Pokeball and readied for the battle. "One ghost is enough with Charon but... Perhaps you'll have your uses." Rolling his eye as the Gastly tried to spook him with intimidation in making his eyes flood with the sanguine colour of blood, he tossed his Pokeball forward, revealing a stationary Ferroseed. "Avarice. Take care of this pest. Metal Claw." Having stolen this Pokemon off of the PC network most trainers were hooked up to, he had no idea of what use she would be. He had merely been browsing a trainer's box and had a nostalgic twang for an Unovan Pokemon.

vs Gastly - - - - - - - - - Gastly had not quite expected to be rebuffed so easily, not even its bloody gaze enough to rattle the man. The events of the gauntlet had proven Tobias was not someone to be trifled with, and clearly this had not sunk in with the spirit. Uttering the faintest of sighs, it dispelled the illusion it had cast on its eyes, leaving the tunnel in almost pitch darkness once again. Aside from the glow of Tobias' cigarette, and the faint cackling of Gastly, it was almost scary - until some of the lights weakly flickered back on. "Cuuuuuuurses!" Gastly hissed, realizing its powers weren't strong enough to keep up with its intimidation of Tobias. "If it is a fight you waaaaaant... entertain me, slaaaaaave!"
The Gastly flickered out of sight for a moment, leaving nothing but a wisp of dark smoke in its wake. Avarice spun around on the spot, determined to prevent this weak ghost from trying to get the jump on her. But as she finished her rotation, Gastly materialized instantly and let an ominous purple-red haze surround its entire body, fixing the Ferroseed with a terrifying glare that had her rattling from its intensity. Cackling loudly over the reaction, Gastly began to withdraw, but it had let down its guard to gloat. Avarice rocketed forwards with surprising speed, bouncing on the ground towards the retreating specter.
The Ferroseed made one final bounce, spinning in mid air to slash out at Gastly with her razor sharp barbs. Howling at the strike, Gastly whirled round only to see Avarice retreating back to Tobias, making metallic clinks on the ground with each bounce. "Youuuu think such pitiful bloooows will stop meeeee!?" it rasped, tunnel lights flickering wildly as the Ghost's rage intensified; it was not used to being attacked in such a savage manner.

The smoke from his cigarette funnelling out of his nostrils, Tobias' gaze was even more scolding than usual. Pinning his single eye on the Gastly, he let out a despondent grunt of dismissal as the gaseous being. "I'll show you who is the master and who is the slave." His hand already going down into his pocket, he primed a capture device ready in the hope of not letting the Gastly know. With the combination of Avarice's attack and his sudden throw of the capsule, it would hopefully be enough to keep this spook off guard and neutralise it. All it rested one was Avarice actually being of some use. He had not used her until this point but knew that Ferroseed and their kin were of incredible defensive capability. Even if she failed at her endeavour in attacking the ghost type Pokemon, hopefully the opponent would slip up and try to take her head on. Trying to remain calm despite the sudden disappearance, Tobias glared his eye once more as he noticed the Pokemon had vanished out of sight. "Hmph. More tricks. I would assume this is all you can manage?" Given it had created this foreboding setting and messed wit the lights sum, it was apparent the Pokemon was something of a trickster.
"Avarice. Be on guard. This foe is a slippery one. Failure is not an option." Responding to his words, the Ferroseed began spinning around to try and source the new location of the ghost but was stopped midway as it enveloped her in an unsettling aura and suddenly reconstituted itself and let out a dread filled stare that had the steel encased speed rattling on the spot. Even Prometheus on Tobias' shoulder was spooked by the unexpected look the Gastly had given. The only one who seemed unperturbed was Tobias who merely stood there, a hand over his mouth as he held the cigarette between his fingers for a lengthy inhale. Merely shrugging off the look, he was rather more concerned with whether Avarice would be able to strike or not. This next part would be the hinging factor on whether she would be of any worth in keeping within his arsenal of weapons. Thankfully for Avarice, the conceited seed creature was able to shrug it off and went lashing out with a textbook metal claw attack. At least, for a Ferroseed given it had no real claws to speak of. No sooner than she had done, Tobias pulled the Ultraball out of his pocket and threw it. "Remember this, i'm your master now."

vs Gastly - - - - - - - - - These humans were all the same - thinking they could stand up to the dark arts of the Ghost type. All Gastly needed to do was wait for the man to drop his guard, and then find a way to slip into his mind. Such feeble things, human brains, and so easily manipulated. Despite Tobias' promise of reversing their roles, Gastly was too engrossed by the notion of breaking this iron-willed man's mind to dispute his claim, sporting a rather whimsical expression. Avarice, from her position in front of her trainer, rolled her eyes at her foe's daydreaming. Clearly this spook had not encountered someone more than ready to rebuff its silly tricks and illusions, pathetic as they were. Utterly ignorant of the plans in store for it, Gastly let out a loud cackle that reverberated off the tunnel walls.
"Your tricks are nothing compared to mine! NOTHING!" Eyes rimmed in a red glow, Gastly seemed to swell in size, alarming both Prometheus and Avarice as the Ghost seemed to be rapidly eating up space in the cramped underground. But Tobias' timely interference was enough to shatter the illusion, the black and gold Ultra Ball striking Gastly hard enough to send it reeling. The Gastly let out a quavering wail of disbelief as the device sprang open, drawing the spirit in and snapping shut, sealing the mischievous Pokémon within. And despite visible efforts, shown by the ball rocking around on the tunnel floor, it seemed the boastful ghost would not be living up to its claims this day.

Straightening up his tie as he watched the Ultraball soar through the distance between them and hone in for the trickster ghost, Tobias had gone throughout this chance encounter completely unphased. If this capture were to succeed, the Gastly would have to employ far more gruesome and outlandish tactics to cower a man of Tobias' character. Watching as the ghost was busted and sucked within the confines of the Ultraball, it fell to the floor with a clang as Tobias spoke out. " Hmph. What a silly idea. Avenging your friends. You've done nothing of the sort. Insult their memory if anything. What a ridiculous endeavour." Noticing the ball wriggle about more so than usual, it was apparent that even at such an end game, the ghost was still doing everything it could to evade his capture attempts. " Useless." Tobias muttered as he inhaled the remaining dreg of his cigarette before dumping it on the floor and stamping it out with his classy shoes. A particular emphasis on the putting out of the cigarette as if to symbolise the Pokemon's chances of breaking free. With the final click of the ball notifying its successful capture Tobias shook his head tiresomely as if knowing the outcome would be in his favour to begin with. Depleting the Pokemon's stamina via Avarice's offensive and the improved success rate of the ultra ball, this was pretty much in the bag to begin with. Clicking his fingers, Prometheus scurried off as he went to collect the ball and Tobias recalled the Ferroseed with little to no congratulation. Panting heavily, it appeared Malik, the stray Growlithe, was impressed by the way in which Tobias ran his ship. Tight, efficient and no failure allowed. " Right. Show us out. I've had enough of this underground locale." With Prometheus returning to his master, captured Pokemon in hand, it seemed as if they had a ways to go before they made out to one of the stairways to escape back surface side. Following along with a determined stride, Tobias followed the Growlithe's judgement on what the quickest route was out of here. OOC: Boxing Cicero for now. Still exploring tunnel. GastlyName: Cicero Gender: MaleLevel: 19 Moves: Mean Look, Curse, Night Shade, Confuse Ray Ability: Levitate Nature/Personality: Psychotic, crafty and completely insane, Cicero rues being made Tobias' slave but begrudgingly follows orders in the hope he will be able to one day reverse their roles.

With the Gastly defeated, there wasn't much in the way of roadblocks for the first few minutes of walking. The loyal Growlithe led Tobias through the shortest routes the hound could think of, but managed to forget one small problem. There was more in this tunnel than crazed Gastlys. Territorial Pokemon were often patrolling their 'territory.' Given that not many people wandered down here, it was a rare occasion to have someone wander into your land. So, of course, as the trainer and Pokemon progressed, a low growl could be heard. From the darkness crackled electricity, shooting out towards the group with sleep precision. Thankfully no one was hit, but they had stumbled upon something angry. Electrike opened it's mouth into a gaping snarl as it emerged from it's shadowy corner. This little section was quicker than the main hall, but it was probably riddled with Pokemon just like this one. Fur rising along with it's hackles, Electrike let out a bark of warning. Static coursed through it's fur, zipping visibly from tuft of fur to tuft of fur. It walked around the trainer and situated itself in the middle of the hall in front of them. In order to pass, they'd have to get through it. Eyes narrowed at the Growlithe. Perhaps the Electrike wanted to challenge it? The hound had led intruders into it's territory, so taking down the hound would bring about some sick satisfaction the Electrike yearned for. Nobody stepped on it's territory but it! Wild Electrike won't let you pass! (Level 23)

Having hoped to have made it out of this claustrophobic underground shopping parade by now, Tobias stopped when he felt the hairs on the back of his beck prickle slightly. It was as if warning him of potential danger ahead. Much like the hyper beam Lateralus could muster but only not as strong. Rooting himself to the spot, Malik the Growlithe halted after realising his new master had stopped in his tracks. Letting out a confused whine, it seemed as if Tobias had been right in stopping. Hearing a low sounding growl, Malik turned his attentions to off in the distance. "Hm? We are not alone it would seem." Noticing the darkness rescind from the spark of electricity coursing at them, it was fortunate enough they managed to dodge the coursing surge well enough. "Hmph. Yet another deluded animal that needs putting down I shall assume." Realising from the growl and the ability to harness the electricity, Malik lowered his head also and growled angrily upon understanding just who was stopping them in their tracks. Having lived a rough life as a stray amongst these parts, the Growlithe had made its fair share of enemies and this was one individual in particular that simply did not appreciate the Growlithe's presence.
Thinking Tobias would want it to attack, the Growlithe slowly began to approach but was stopped as the well suited criminal raised a hand to stop him from continuing. "No. I need you in fit condition to get us out of here." Leering his eye at the still growling creature, Tobias drilled his gaze deeper into it. "Hmph. Annoying welp. This hound here at least understood to obey its master. Your growling angers me." Raising his hand and clicking his fingers authoritatively it seemed the eye patched taskmaster had other plans in mind on how they would handle this situation. "Prometheus." Sounding the Pokemon's name, the Pansear cowered somewhat with reluctance and dismay at being asked to fight. It wasn't the strongest of fighters and it had to rely mostly on guile and cunning in order to get things done. So why exactly was Tobias using him of all Pokemon. "Flame Burst on this runt. I want to weaken this vermin as a lesson." Deciding not to invoke his trainer's ire at him also, Prometheus swung of acrobatically and landed at the forefront of battle. Showing off somewhat theatrically the Pokemon posed at its careful landing before sniggering at the growling Electrike. Whilst he may not have been a powerful fighter, he knew when he was above another at the very least. Stretching out his arm, the Pokemon steadied his arm with the other and gestured his hand into that of a mock gun ready to fire off a flame burst as if it were a bullet.

Vs. Electrike- - - - - - - - - - - The Electrike almost seemed to grin as Malik inched forwards, its coarse green fur crackling with static electricity just waiting to be used. But at a sharp word from the trainer, Malik stood down, bringing forth a disappointed huff from the smaller canine. It met Tobias' leer with one of its own, its desire to protect its turf and confidence in battle more than enough to bolster confidence. Prometheus' entrance into battle almost made Electrike laugh - this would be easier than it thought, seeing the size of the Pansear and instantly dismissing him as a threat. Of course, Prometheus was thinking along the same lines, and his mocking laughter erased any amusement from his foe's expression instantly.
Why-- how dare this spiteful little imp giggle at it! Hackles rising, Electrike was spitting mad, its furious growls filling the tunnel until Prometheus made his move. With his arm still raised in imitation of a gun, Tobias' Pansear spat out a single flaming projectile that hit the snarling Electrike square in the snout. Howling, the Electrike bucked around, wafting about the sick smell of burnt fur. Prometheus fanned his paw over his face as if disgusted by the scent, snickering quietly at how upset his foe had become over a single attack. In his apparent delight, he almost missed the Electrike recovering itself and springing forwards to retaliate.
Sparks flying, the green dog was hellbent on revenge and was not about to let Prometheus escape unharmed. Lips drawn back in fury, the Electrike cloaked itself in electricity and tackled Prometheus hard enough to send him skidding several feet past Tobias with a stunned look. Breathing hard, Electrike sneered at him and then at Tobias as it retreated a few steps, as if goading them to keep going.

Snickering cockily to himself over and over, it appeared that for all the posturing and intimidation the Electrike was exerting in trying to keep itself king of its realm, Prometheus cared very little. Having scored a satisfying direct hit against the boisterous Electrike, the fiery chimp felt almost as if he had rightfully put him in his place. Sadly, getting so wrapped up in supposedly teaching the electric beast a lesson, Prometheus forgot one particularly sage bit of knowledge when it came to battling. That not every opponent would be cowered and some would be prone to striking back in retaliation. "Prometheus! Stop dithering about!" Barking out some sense, Prometheus wizened up at the very last moment and by that point it was far too late. Having sped forwards with a predatory pounce full of rogue sparks flying off its emerald sheen, it meant Prometheus was sent flying backwards dramatically.
Evoking no emotion from Tobias but a painful wince from Malik, the Growlithe felt a twang of sympathy as it knew full well that would have likely been itself had it entered the fight on its own. Eventually stabilising itself, Prometheus bounded forwards rather angrily, ready to fire off another flame burst to show it off completely when the sound of a Pokeball was heard being primed. Holding the Ultraball in his hand with it now enlarged Tobias sternly shook his head. "No. We'll capture this. Break it of course first. Can't have such a vicious beast being sold onto the black market. There are customers for such a creature so perhaps breaking its spirit may not be needed. Instead we'll goad it some further." Sniggering at the thought, Prometheus began forming both of his paws into mock guns and pretended to fire off from the hip numerous times as if to rub it in to the Electrike. Tossing the Ultraball forward, Tobias hoped for the best.

Having struck the fiery ape with a blast of electricity, the hell bent Electrike merely kept it's angered glare set on Prometheus. His mocking taunts and blazing attacks had forced the Electrike from simply protecting it's territory to attacking on a more personal basis. Fur singed, the electric canine wasn't ready to give up just yet either. Leering it's eyes between the monkey and the hissing human, sparks began to coarse through it's fur once again. Curling it's lip angrily, the Electrike slowly paced to the side, not taking it's now focused glare off of Prometheus. After being stricken, his own jokey attitude had changed to something a bit more violent. Maybe because he had just been made to look like a fool in front of Tobias himself. Ready to land a finishing blow to torch the Electrike into obscurity, he was forced to stop, as Tobias himself held a different fate for this wild beast.
Enlarging an Ultra Ball, the Electrike tensed it's body up protectively, a threatening growl escaping through it's clenched fangs. There was no way it would be captured by a human, let alone one that carried around such Pokemon. About to fire off another attack before Tobias could throw the ball, the Electrike was taken off guard by yet another mocking taunt from Prometheus. Holding his little hands into the shape of guns and mock firing, the Electrike's eyes widened madly. Roaring out loud, it moved into a frantic pace forward but nothing was quicker than Tobias at that moment. Having been set on capturing the Pokemon, he had tossed his Pokeball of choice, the group watching as it soared through the air and engulfed the manic Electrike in a bright light.

Flinching an eyelid irritably, Prometheus appeared frustrated that the Electrike had let itself be caught. It could tell it was the type not to like being told what to do let alone enslaved so it was a surprise he hadn't burst out so he could finish it off. Quickly disposing of his chagrin, Prometheus let out a silent snicker before nonchalantly shrugging his shoulders. Main thing was he had won the little tussle. Tobias on the other hand didn't appear the least bit annoyed or joyed. Merely straightened up his tie, it was business as usual for the suave male. " Let that be a lesson. Those who would oppose us, end up as such." Panting heavily, Malik was glad he had decided to have followed this criminal from the get go with no resistance. Delighted to no end his rival had been finally taken down a fair few pegs, it meant Malik was ever more loyal to his new master. At this point, he would follow any command, any request. Anything at all. Even if it meant laying his life down, the Growlithe would do it. " Now our business here is concluded. Get us out of here." Barking with acknowledgement, Malik knew of the best exit now that his pesky rival had been eliminated. Dashing off, Tobias followed with a stride not before issuing Prometheus his order. " Prometheus, collect the goods and follow." Acrobatically leaping and landing by the ball, he scooped it up before bounding after Tobias and actually being able to shimmy his way up the suited trainer and presenting him the bounty as he sat on his shoulder. " I believe it's time we focused our efforts on rising the ranks. I'm not going to be stuck doing grunt duty if I have anything to say about it..." - Fin - OOC: Selling Electrike to latani.
