The 'prey' it had found seemed to be interesting enough, albeit louder than Pinsir had expected. The man wore colors that were strange to Pinsir, having lived all it's life in the Savannah lands here. The purple was almost mesmerizing, but the movement of Joey's arm as he wound it up to pitch the rock at Pinsir broke the bug's concentration as it turned it's sights back at Joey as a whole. The amount of noise that Joey made, paired with the rock that he'd thrown at the Pinsir, only managed to make the creature angrier. Stomping it's feet and rattling it's horns together was a terrifying sight indeed, especially with nothing in between Joey and the Pinsir. However, it made no attempts to run away although it did glance over it's shoulder to see if anything was behind it just incase it decided to flee. Slitted eyes stared across the way, practically daring Joey to make another brash move. Pinsir (Level 25) eyes the rock at it's feet angrily. The rock thrown, Joey watched the Pinsir himself. Noticing it had been staring at him somewhat peculiarly, it was beginning to become clearer that he was bit of a creep. Unaware the colours he sported were unusual to the Pokemon, Joey had no time to realise this fact as the Pokemon's reaction was all too distracting. Getting angrier and stomping about, Joey let out a cocky smirk as he realised the rock had done its job. "Hah! Guess you ain't too much a chicken. But then again, the beastie before you did the same." Looking down at the ground, he noticed another rock. With a dexterous stub of the top of his boot at the floor, it sent the rock flying up to which he grabbed with the palm of his hand. Realising full well the massive pincer like horns it sported could easily tear him from piece to piece, Joey was keen to do away with his fears in order to come across as confident and in control. "Maybe this'll prove you're really not a chicken. How about another? C'moooon, I bet you can take it, you champ." Pitching it forward with another calculated shot, he stood back on edge to see how the Pokemon would react. The way it had stared him down moments before the rock was thrown led Joey to believe he was toeing the line dangerously, much like a tightrope artist trying not to lose balance with a pool of sharks beneath him.

Pinsir eyed the man angrily as the first rock sat at it's feet. Taking a few breaths helped calm the creature, as it wasn't quite sure what to do with this stranger. He seemed larger than Pinsir, and in the predatory world, that usually caused the predators to err on the side of caution. If Joey had his jacket on (which would be silly in this heat, but useful nonetheless) it made him look bigger as well as the wind whipped it around behind him. By the man's mannerisms, he seemed as though he was confident in staring down the angry bug Pokemon. However, Pinsir wasn't going to put up with much more folly. As Joey hurled the second rock, it plinked against Pinsir's horns, just shy of missing. It's hand touched the little chink it had made in it's horns before slamming them against eachother in a display of aggression and anger. Pinsir took a few steps forward in an attempt to threaten Joey as the bug stared down the man with an intense hatred.

Watching as the rock did its job in antagonising the safari Pokemon even further, Joey rubbed over the stubble on his chin thoughtfully as he smiled coyly. " Y'know, maybe you've actually got some guts stickin' around like this. Could always do with a stalwart type of character like you." His hand falling from his chin down to his pocket, he pulled out a Safari Ball from the surplus of stock he had taken. " Let's see how this turns out." Priming the capture device, he tossed it forward with the same sort of skill he had done so with the rocks. At least this would break the repetition of throwing rocks. " Here goes nothin'!" - Joey throws a Safari Ball -

Safari Zone- - - - - - - - - - - - How had its display failed to run off the human? Pinsir was used to sending humans fleeing before it at mere hints of the power it wielded, but seeing as how this particular one had the gall to throw rocks at it... well, it left Pinsir confused and unsure. Horns crossing against one another, the Pinsir lowered and tossed its head with a wild cry, as if giving a last ditch attempt to warn the human away. If this option didn't work, the Pinsir could always seek refuge and flee from the man and his multitude of nasty little rocks. Beady eyes fixed on the device in his hand, Pinsir tensed itself, expecting more pain when Joey threw the strange thing at him.
Screeching as the ball rebounded off its head, the impact confirming its suspicions, Pinsir's outraged expression froze in place as the Safari Ball sprang open and snared it. Caught in the mysterious beam of light, the furious bug was drawn into the ball that snapped shut and clunked heavily to the ground. Judging by the intense rocking about, Pinsir was still putting up quite a mighty fight even contained as it was. A few tense seconds later, the shaking abated suddenly, as though the captive Pinsir had given in to its new fate.

Feeling his jaw clench together as he watched the safari ball scoop up the creepy beetle, he felt a bit of relief over the fact he had not been snapped in two by the Pokemon's barbaric looking pincers. " C'mon, pull together, pull together! These Safari Balls best not be some cheap knock offs." Looking down to a spare safari ball in his hand, he scratched his nail on the design just to be sure they weren't merely repainted pokeballs. Satisfied they weren't after a few attempts, he looked back up and grinned raucously as the capture device had done its job. " Awww yeah! Just nabbed myself another fierce lookin' powerhouse. Hopefully I can direct his pincers up against someone in Team Rocket or summat." Scooping up the ball, he let out a weighty sigh as he looked around. " Sure is hot." Deciding to continue on, he ventured around the savannah some more. - Joey continues to explore the Savannah - OOC: PinsirName: Tartarus Gender: MaleLevel: 25 Moves: Harden, Revenge, Vital Throw, Double Hit Ability: [Hyper Cutter] OR [Mold Breaker] Nature/Personality: [choose] Exp: 0/1951 Boxing for now.

Successfully capturing the wild Pinsir, Joey still had a small amount of time left to explore the Savannah. As he continued his search, his footsteps crunched against the dry earth, the sun above beaming down upon him heavily, creating an immense feeling of heat. With not a single breeze in the air and very sparse amounts of trees being his only shade, Joey would have to put up with the weather for a little longer but with all these unique and wild Pokemon around, surely it was worth it. Up ahead, a fairly tall and bulky figure came into view, arm reaching upward as it tried to draw down a branch in order to eat some of the fresh foliage. The golden blades of grass barely coming to the big creature's ankles, the Pokemon was likely going to be familiar to Joey if his mother had told him of some of the rarer Pokemon that lived in the Safari Zone. Covered from head to toe with brown hide, the bipedal Pokemon turned out to be a Kangaskhan. With a tug of it's powerful arms, it snapped the branch from over head and lowered it towards it's pouch on it's front belly. Feeding it's young, the parent Pokemon didn't seem to pick up on Joe's approaching footsteps.

Venturing even further into the sprawling savannah, Joey slowly came to a halt as it appeared the next big encounter would be a Pokemon he had not seen in absolute years. Elusive even back when he was a child roaming the safari, it appeared their kind was still low in number considering what appeared before him was none other than a lone Kangaskhan. " Oh man... My ma always went on about how certain Pokemon were considered an endangered species and because of this, were typically reserved to places like safari zone in order to have a better chance of survival and increase to their number." Watching it as it cared for its infant in its pouch, he had a small smile spread over his face. He barely remembered it but apparently on one of his naughty escapades on his own into Fuschia's Safari Zone, he had been reprimanded by a Kangaskhan without a child and had been safeguarded in their very pouch until his real mother came to collect him. Scratching the stubble on his chin, it wasn't something he could recall all that well but he had a fond feeling of warmth deep down inside by seeing this creature again. " Maybe I can claim one of my own and do my own effort in ensuring they're kept safe. Maybe even send this as a gift to my ma." Stepping forward, he was careful not to agitate the Pokemon. " Hey... Easy now." Slowly gesturing his arms as he stretched them out, he hoped to reassure the Pokemon he meant no trouble. The only real problem was in order to weaken this enough for capture he'd have to throw some rocks. " Whaddya reckon? Fancy some munch?" Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a slab of bait and tossed it over to the Pokemon. Hopefully that'd lull it into staying around. - Joey throws some bait -

The ears on top of it's head twitching, the parent Kangaskhan turned at the sound of Joey approaching and immediately became defensive. Holding a hand over the top of the infant within it's pouch, who was still munching away on the branch it had been given, it was already clear that the parental Pokemon wanted nothing more than to flee. It's kind, even in the protective reserve of the Safari Zone, always feared humans due to their lack of numbers. Taking a nervous stomp backward as Joey outstretched his arms, within it's mind, the Kangaskhan didn't want to risk any interaction. But rather than a rock or a ball, a handful of food was scattered across the dusty ground. Nose twitching, there were immediate cries from the baby within it's pouch, who had very quickly tossed the stick to one side and was now reaching out, trying to greedily grab at the bait. Giving Joe a cautious stare, the mother made an odd decision to stay and rather threateningly moved forward, as if to try and make Joe back off some.
Leaning forward slowly, only taking it's eyes off Joe once to pick up a piece of the food, the parent sniffed and tried a piece first, clearly liking it from the slight widening of it's eyes. Offering another piece to it's young, Joe was able to see and this time remember, the rare sight of a Kangaskhan up close.

The reaction was almost immediate once the bait was set. However, rather than being from the main Pokemon itself that had reacted, it was the baby infant Kangaskhan in the mother's pouch that had really been drawn in by the inclusion of some food. " Yeah, that's it. Nice 'n' tasty for you. Go on. Give it a go." Keeping his cool as the mother was influenced by its infant's wishes and moved in closer with a rather menacing step, Joey hoped it meant they'd be sticking around longer. Thankfully, it decided to take the bait and it wasn't long before the cautious mother began trying some herself before offering it on to her young. " Pretty good stuff, huh? How about some more?" Generously tossing forward some more bait, he was hoping this would build up some trust so they would remain long enough for him to capture. If he could catch this, he'd have something to show off his own mum who would no doubt be impressed at his skill. - Joey throws a second round of bait -

Kangaskhan was not quite sure why this man was being so friendly however unlike most other people it had met he did not throw a ball at it trying to capture it. Seeing as how the man seemed to be nicer than most people she began to feel a little more comfortable around him for whatever reason. Although she did not want to let her guard down too much she could not pass up a free meal and she scooped up the bait before giving it to her baby riding in her pouch. After the young one ate the bait Kangaskhan decided to inch even closer to Joey as if she was beginning to trust him a bit more than the average human. She still remained cautious however since the last thing she wanted to do was put too much trust into a human and put her baby at risk. Safari Encounter

Perceiving the Pokemon was still a little anxious about being in the presence of a human, Joey realised he was on the road to fully gaining the Pokemon's trust. All he needed to do was keep up his attempts at bonding with the Pokemon. The fact it was still here meant that it had begun to invest in the fact he wasn't so much a threat. " Haha, I bet that's really tasty. I'd try some myself but they only gave me enough to spare with all you guys out on the safari. Here, tell ya what, most of the Pokemon i've encountered here haven't really deserved any of this food. But you're needing food for two so have some more." Taking out some more bait, he tossed it forward. At this point, he'd be getting to the point where the Kangaskhan would be eating out the palm of his hand it appeared. - Joey throws a third round of bait -

Never letting down her guard, the mother Kangaskhan continued to test the bait before giving some to her young, until the point where the food Joey was throwing was able to be treated as trustworthy. Still not trusting the human one hundred percent, she hadn't realised just how close she had approached the man. Once under the shade of the tree, she had stepped little by little, until she had become almost an arm stretch away from the thief. His gentle voice wasn't as bad in comparison to other hunters than ventured across the Safari Zone. Looking the male directly in the eye, the Pokemon grunted deeply in a calm tone. As if asking Joey for more bait, it was up to the biker how he would choose to proceed.

Relaxing himself as he realised just how close the Kangaskhan had come in proximity to him, he let out a cheery grin. " See? I ain't so bad. I don't mean you any trouble." Hearing the Pokemon grunt out, Joey pulled bit of a puzzled expression but it was all too clear to him in truth what she was referring to. " Oh? Oh? What's that?" Playfully toying with the bait in his hand, he pretended to forget its existence before letting out a laugh and tossing some more bait forward. " Plenty more where that came from. You eat up yourself. Bet feedin' your lil'un all the time means you've forgotten to look after yourself." - Joey tosses a fourth round of bait at the Kangaskhan -

Safari Zone- - - - - - - - - - - - Though there was a gleam of caution that had yet to leave her eyes, the mama Kangaskhan was too enticed by the lure of procuring more tasty food not just for her infant, but for herself as well. She'd decided the taste of the bait was something she wasn't adverse to (after all, she had been giving it to her baby), uttering a rumbling sound that almost sounded akin to laughter as the man playfully tossed the foot around. Her eyes followed its progress intently, not once looking up at Joey with easy food in such close range. It would be foolish to leave a free source of nutrition behind, especially now that it was clear he was no threat to her child's safety.
Stomach rumbling audibly enough to alert Joey, the Kangaskhan moved with preternatural speed to snatch up the bait, happily lifting it off the ground and taking a big bite. Offering a small piece to her curious child, the Normal-type had shifted even closer to Joey but did not appear to care in the slightest. Too engrossed in munching on the bait, she showed little inclination to leave and was content enough to enjoy her food. The chance was sublime, if he chose to risk it, what with her attention fully focused elsewhere.
