Sharada’s journey was nearing to the end, a great source of power was coming from ahead. As the rocket member and her party of evil-doers got closer, the heat began to rise. One could tell it was a mix between a strong source of power and a fire Pokemon. Not a Pokemon was in sight; it almost seemed like they all ran away from this part of the tower for some reason.
As Sharada investigated, further, she could tell she was very close to the source. Her Pokemon began to sweat, the energy emitted from this area was so hot and powerful that it was unexplainable. Almost in a flash of light, a large creature appeared before them. It had long brown fur and a unique white main flowing from it’s head, which looked like a large smoke stack from a forest fire. The dog like Pokemon and strong legs, which could obviously be used to cause Earthquakes, similar to Bellatrix. The fire Pokemon seemed incredibly enraged at something, and emitted a giant roar.

As they cautiously ventured down the dangerous, rickety set of half destroyed wooden steps, both Sharada and Tenebrae began to feel an intense raise in temperature. Her chest feeling heavy and breath becoming baited, the young Rocket unzipped her coat and loosened her scarf. This was the complete opposite of the temperature outside, she was beginning to sweat from the heat. But tension was also present in the air, her Zoroark looking particularly frantic, as his head of fur tossed and turned, trying to pick up on the source which came from all angles of his senses. "Tenebrae. Something isn't right." Sharada muttered, a bead of sweat rolling down the side of her cheek. "I can feel it." The Zoroark muttered in response before suddenly becoming even more frantic, bounding in front of Sharada protectively, "It is here!"
Wincing her eyes shut from the sudden, intense flash of light, she squinted her eyes open, slowly widening at the sight of what stood before them. "What... Is that?" Staring in a mixture of awe and wonderment, the Legendary Pokemon had chosen to show itself before Sharada, even though it wore a glare of hostility. "This is it." Words left from Tenebrae, "The intense power I felt, it overwhelmed me. I can also... I can also pick up the scent of my sister. They were here!" Tutting under her breath, it was likely that an old friend of hers had also been sent on this searching mission, where they had now been led to face a dangerous foe. "Hmph. Then just like them, we can't lose here." Pulling her hand down to her side, with full intention of defending herself if the wild beast decided to pounce, Tenebrae stretched out an arm to stop her, glancing back across his shoulder. "If I ever want to step out of the shadow of my sister, I must pursue the same challenges she has faced. This battle will be mine."
Protective over Tenebrae, as the Zorua had one received numerous experimental tests from the scientist of her Team Rocket squad, she held her breath for just a moment. She wasn't happy with it but Tenebrae had grown so much, he had even evolved in this very tower. Thus, with a nod of her head, she agreed. "Fine. Then we'll do this together." Stepping forward, icy eyes glaring at his foe, Tenebrae awaited the order from Sharada. "Tenebrae! Attack with Dark Pulse! We don't know what this thing is capable of, so dont let up!" With a grunt, the illusion Pokemon moved into place.

Not a native of these parts, it was possible Sharada was unaware of the true gravitas of the legendary beast in front of her. As each region had its own legends and myths, so too did Johto. And one of its trio were now staring down the trainer and her Zoroark. Perhaps distracted by the heat and intensity emitted by Entei itself, it seemed as if two other pairs of eyes were following the battle from ledges higher up in the room. Their intense glares would have made lesser trains buckle at the knees. Communicating amongst themselves, it appeared they were no ordinary beasts. "It would appear our nest is no longer safe. Too many trainers have been visiting of late." "Yes... I blame it on that human who is fascinated by you. It was thanks to him that brash ruffian was invited in. Challenging us all." "The less said about that the better... Should we assist Entei?" "No, Entei has too much pride and you too little faith. Let us observe." Stomping forward with a quake, the beast known as Entei sniffed the air and seemed to pick up on a similar wavelength to what Tenebrae had realised. Communicating to the fellow beast, it's tone was all so mighty and regal. " You there. Beastkin. I have smelt your scent before. You are affiliated with the ruffian and his beast?" His eyes leering discerningly, he looked to Sharada. Her overall appearance was different from the purple bandanna wearing biker they had encountered but a quick analysis of her scent revealed she too had come in contact with this male some time ago. " Hmph. You follow in their footsteps. Very well. Let us do battle." Signalling off another fearsome roar, like that of a lion, Entei assumed a battle position. Prior to this encounter and the challenge from before, Entei had never come across a species such as Zoroark but with how abundant the encounters were becoming, it was almost as if beasts attracted other beasts. Enjoying a good scrap, it wasn't as if they would turn down a challenge, rather, they would seemingly test those who came their way. As such, they would purposefully limit their battle prowess. There had been none in the world who had seen their true capability. " Your ruse is unfortunately spoilt. I remember this from your fellow kin's challenge." For once however, Tenebrae would not be relying on the power of his illusions to seek victory. Instead this would be a head on confrontation, a means of evaluating oneself. " There shall be no escape, let us duel one on one!" Taking this challenge seriously, Entei breathed fire which dispersed in a very odd fashion. Circling around the very basement they were in, it created a swirling wall around them, an arena of fire. Merely snorting his nostrils, a flicker of swirling fire span around Tenebrae and bound him, causing a burning pain. It seemed as if the beast had exacted a powerful Fire Spin. Despite the masterful use of flame, Tenebrae was not deterred. Sprinting forward with a lithe dash, the Pokémon had accumulated a swirling mass of darkness which he unleashed as he thrust his arms forward, detonating a pulsating wave of energy. Buffeting Entei, it was enough to make even the proudly beast cower. Dispersing the foul atmosphere with a small roar, it was no surprise a lot more was needed to quell this legendary creature. " Good! Very good! Your kin fought in a different style but you both bear great strength. We shall continue! I shall let you take the next strike first. Come at me with all your might." As Entei finished communicating, the fiery binding that had been cast, flared up, causing a searing sensation over Tenebrae. The beast's offer still standing, Tenebrae made good of Sharada's support by beginning to power up another dark pulse. As confident as he was in the move, it appeared something was amiss. No matter how hard the Zoroark concentrated, it seemed as if no dark energy was materialising. " Hmph! I see you err with inexperience. Your kin sussed out her moves would not work consecutively." True enough, it seemed as if the intense pressure created by such a legendary being had meant Tenebrae had become unable to reuse Dark Pulse one after the other. Despite the unexpected turn of events, Tenebrae was quick to improvise. Darting forward with a blur, the Pokémon instead opted for another line of assault. Battering Entei with a physical strike in the form of Night Slash, it appeared to catch Entei off guard. " Harrumph! You changed your mind so swiftly... Impressive! But remember, to strike me so close means I too can strike you at close quarters!" Rearing back the legendary Pokémon stomped down with his regal paws, causing Tenebrae to flop backwards midair. As he did, the searing binds ignited alight once more causing even further damage. Now returned to Sharada, it appeared Tenebrae's wounds were dire. However, a quick inspection of Entei had shown it was in a dogged state as well. Entei possessed slightly superior agility which meant Sharada would have to play carefully if she wanted to support Tenebrae's wish of overcoming this challenge of the wild. Battle

Able to finally piece together what had led him toward this crumbling, wooden tower in the first place, the Zoroark understood his natural urge to enter and explore. Lured by the strength of the Legendary Beasts as well as picking up on the scent of his fellow species, it was no wonder why he had been so drawn in. The gap in time between the trail of events were unknown but Calistra had been here and by following in her shadow, Tenebrae had also ended up walking down the same path. To prove to himself that he was capable of growing stronger, in order to protect those closest to him, the Zoroark was prepared to go through any trail or test thrown at him. Facing such a powerful foe was just one of many to come. Sharp claws poised, both Tenebrae and Sharada were uncertain of how powerful this beast was. Never really hearing anything about the myths and legends of this land, the brunette was oblivious to the importance of Entei. Let alone the fact that there were two others, watching from above.
It was then that Entei spoke, his anger and pressuring aura ceasing just slightly. Sharada jumped, the words of the Pokemon coming across as grunts and growls to her. But as she turned to Tenebrae, she remained silent, as he too responded in his natural cry. "I care little for the human but the Zoroark... She is part of my clan." Not removing her eyes from the back of the much smaller beast, Sharada was able to atleast presume that they were issuing some sort of challenge between the pair. "Hmph. I have no need for illusions or feints. I will battle without them." Unlike Calistra, who was willing to use her power of illusions, Tenebrae preferred not to. It was very rare than he adorned a cloak of disguise and would only do so when it was of convince to Sharada. Pinning back his ears as Entei agreed to the battle, a sudden surge of heat caught Sharada off guard, as the very space around them was set alight. "Tenebrae... I don't know what you are saying but stay alert!" Backing off from the flames, Sharada cautiously glanced around. The tower was in enough of a state, if this thing burnt down again, there was no telling if they would survive the amount of rubble likely to fall down at them from above.
Remaining level headed, both Tenebrae and Entei exchanged their blows, the sheer power of the Legendary Beast knocking more than the wind out of Tenebrae. Finding himself gasping for breath after the earlier Stomp, Sharada looked on in worry, aware that he had disobeyed her orders. Rushing forward, she pulled out a Hyper Potion from her bag, holding the pink spray bottle close to Tenebrae as she supported his back. "T-Tene! Hang in there!" A hefty pant leaving his agape mouth, the Tenebrae allowed her to heal his wounds, the pain disappearing with a matter of puffs. Standing back up, he moved his limbs to ensure he was fully healed before turning to Sharada. "You are not the first human I have hated but you have been the first that I trust. You remain at my side, even when I act on my own." Unable to understand his grunts and growls, Sharada raised a hand and gently rubbed the Zoroark under the chin. His fur felt sweltering, as the Fire Spin would likely affect him yet again. She despised seeing him in pain but with a soft smile, she tilted her head, "We are both very different from the other two but just as Joey trusts Calistra, I trust you, Tenebrae." Removing her hand, she took a step back, allowing this fight would continue. "I'll always be right beside you."
Turning back to Entei feeling empowered, the wild mess of hair on the head of Tenebrae began to float and waver. "Our intelligence and power may differ from them but I intend to win in my... no, our own way. I can sense now that you possess incredible strength. Even now, you are holding back but be assured that I will deal every ounce I am capable of!" Entei was much quicker than Tenebrae and with it, could finish off the poor Zoroark with a bit of luck. But not if Tenebrae fought with everything he had before the beast had the chance to do so. "Tenebrae, use another Dark Pulse!" Sharada was still unaware of the Pressure but luckily, Tenebrae had acted quick enough to alter the attack use on his own, using a different one, making it just fine to use Dark Pulse this time around. "Here I come!!"

Cowering behind a rotten and charred pillar, Eusine watched intently from the shadows, mesmerised by the battle unfolding in front of him. The majesty of the Legendary Trio imbued him with awe as well as fear. The searing heat that emanated from Entei was oppressive and the mere presence of this ancient creature created an intensity the Mystery Man had never felt before, forcing him to kneel down on one knee as though the force of gravity had been turned up tenfold. In what seemed like a momentary pause in the fray, Entei appeared to be communicating in low rumbling growls to the fox-like Pokemon, whose wounds were being tended to by Sharada. Tenebrae winced at the stinging sensation of the medicine but at the same time the spray was cooling and a welcome relief from the suffocating heat of the tower's ruined basement. The air was heavy with soot and dust, the floating memories of an inferno from a bygone era. As the Zoroark began to regain his vitality again, Entei spoke solemnly to its challenger. " You speak of your disdain for illusions but is the bond between humans and Pokemon nothing but an illusion?" the Legendary beast challenged. " I cannot forget the day your sister and her human faced me. In their footsteps you follow in every way. Another worthless bond." " Look around you. This place was once built to honour the friendship between humans and Pokemon. It is but an ephemeral truce." Entei's eyes glowed amber as it inhaled deeply, preparing to exhale a furnace-hot breathe of cinders towards Tenebrae. " In the end, friendship is but an illusion created in order for humans to exploit our kind." Blistering embers rained down on the illusion fox as another swirling vortex of flames gripped him. But Tenebrae pushed through the sweltering heat and searing pain with Sharada's reassuring words about being right beside him hanging front of mind. A final pulsating ring of dark energy burst from his paws, buffeting the fierce leonine beast whose front legs buckled at the knees. The volcanic reincarnation had expended quite a bit of energy already and did not seem prepared to reveal its full power just yet. "Brother, that's enough. Another opportunity will come to test the worth of this human and her Pokemon" "Impossible! The human should be grateful to have seen us at all. Are you suggesting we'll meet again?" "Yes, it is fate and our guardian has deemed it so." " Our fleeting encounter ends for now. But our paths will cross once again," Entei predicted and bounded across the basement floor to stand beside its bretheren. " Remember, your fate is to rejoin your clan one day as their leader Beastkin, and what will become of your human companion then?" With these parting words of warning, the three Legendary dogs leapt gracefully up through a cavity in the ceiling disappearing from sight. A cold draft instantly sucked the heat out of the basement and the roomed darkened as though the battle had not taken place at all. Battle

When the Legendary beasts had fled, Eusine emerged from his hiding place clapping his gloved hands together in delight. He walked towards Sharada with excitement emblazoned across his face. “ You have achieved my lifelong goal and have brought me so much closer to achieving it myself! What a magnificent battle!” the man declared. “ The strength your Pokemon showed was truly remarkable and it is only fitting that this be your prize! Please accept this Hidden Machine!” He revealed the shiny disc and offered it to Sharada. “ Now if you’ll excuse me, I don’t want to waste another moment! I must record this experience while it is still fresh in my mind!” With that, the strangely-dressed man zoomed off, his cape trailing behind him.

Smoke was lifting from the very tips of Tenebrae's ebony coloured fur, the flames from the mighty foe before him scorching him down to his skin, the burning sensation repeating over and over, showing no signs of fading out. The dark creature of illusions continued to pant, even after the first aid given to him by his trainer. This was like no challenge he had ever faced before. He was determined to win with every passing strike but as hard as he tried, his opponent was barely showing signs of buckling. Large chest pushed forward, the majestic beast remained standing tall in all his glory, heavy stare pushing immense pressure down on the pair. His eyes blurring for just a moment, the Zoroark raised his muzzle as the Entei spoke in his grunting tone. His icy blue eyes narrowing to a scowl, Tenebrae regained his fighting stance, still pained. "You... Are living in an illusion. Living in the past, just like this city and generations of their kin now and before them." Sliding a foot forward, the beast was preparing his next strike. "Although I have met you beastkin and your strength is the reason for this heavy atmosphere... I also feel something beneath it all." Pain, sadness, fear. This mixed with such oozing power from the Legendary trio had overwhelmed Tenebrae at first. But as they delved deeper into the tower, he had begun to pick up sensations from the past. Something terrible had happened in this tower.
"We have heard the tales... That 3 beasts lost their lives during the raging inferno of this tower. Yet, somehow, they were given a second chance. Another lease of life." It was nothing but a myth, a fairytale, to most. But the locals of Ecruteak sure liked to advertise it as the truth. For Tenebrae, all the pieces were in place, even if it wasn't the same for Sharada, who remained unknowing. "You already speak of the loyalty humans have provided. They remain in this place, following traditions. Yet to you, that is nothing but an illusion?" Eyes briefly widening, Tenebrae felt his knees buckle; Entei was preparing an attack, heat bellowing around the beast. "They... Do not deserve a second chance? To live with Pokemon in harmony?!" "TENEBRAE! MOVE!" Sharada's shout was futile. Tenebrae was far too proud at this point to attempt a cowardly dodge. He instead braced himself, taking the embers head on. His snout crinkled, his body burnt, he was in such pain. Then the second wave came, his body quivering. For a moment, Tenebrae only heard silence, he slumped forward, eyes tiredly looking over to Sharada. She was waving her arms so wildly, her mouth moving, yet no words could be heard. "What... Is the problem?" Tenebrae thought to himself in a blurred, dazed state, a stomp from Entei rumbling the earth beneath him finally getting back Tenebrae's attention.
He could see the outline of Entei approaching and with every ounce of his remaining bit of strength, Tenebrae summoned a dark orb of energy, forcing it straight at the monstrous Pokemon before him. This hit did something which caused the other beasts to intervene, new growls and grunts drawing Sharada's attention up to the burnt rafters. The brunette looked around, stunned, as soon as they had appeared, the Legendary trio left with a tailwind, lifting her hair wildly. For a brief moment, there was nothing but pure silence. The air was still, as if time had frozen. What they had witnessed, what they had achieved, was once in a life time. When she was certain they weren't coming back, Sharada's posture eased, though her eyes remained focused on the open hole the trio had escaped out of. "I know..." A grunt wriggled from Tenebrae's snout. "My clan... My brethren... I can feel it, they need me." His body quivered, the Zoroark was a Pokemon that had been viciously torn from his family, all he had wanted was to go home but now, things had changed for him. He also wanted to support Sharada but deep down, the two of them both knew that their time together would not last forever.
Almost jumping out of her skin, the bold clap from Eusine cut her off from attending to Tenebrae. Turning with a rushed spin, the brunette hadn't noticed that the two of them had an audience. More so, the fruit case they had met earlier. Becoming overwhelmed with the amount of compliments, the disguised Rocket felt herself a bit lost for words. "You saw it all?" In a way, she was relieved someone else had witnessed it and that this wasn't some weird, scorching dream. Being pushed a prize for her contribution to his investigation, Sharada watched as yet another being disappeared as soon as he arrived. With a somewhat confused shrug, she pocketed the item and finally turned back to look at her Zoroark. He looked so solemn, staring almost vacantly up at the gap in the roof. The Rocket gave him a moment to focus his thoughts before approaching him. "Tenebrae. We've finished here. Let's go somewhere safe." Trying to snap him out of his daze, the Zoroark slowly turned. His eyes were damp, likely to the pain he was feeling, both on the outside and in. He replied with a slow nod, so Sharada turned and began to walk.
"One day." Tenebrae spoke, stopping Sharada in her tracks. "I will have to return to my clan. I know it is my destiny, my fate. But I'm not strong enough... I.." "Tenebrae." His words beginning to quiver, Sharada stopped him. "I already told you, I will get you back home." Slowly, his eyes narrowed, a mixture of relief and sadness rushing over him. "But, I'm also selfish." Looking back up to her, his eyes opened, seeing his partner turn to him with a smile on her face. "I need you right now, Tenebrae. Together, we can get stronger, so when the time comes, we'll both be ready to protect the ones we need to." Rubbing the back of her head, the brunette also felt tearful at the thought of departure. For Sharada, her future was in total darkness. There was no way she would be able to leave Team Rocket easily and she knew it. Even in the best case scenario, she would be living her life on the run, from both Team Rocket and the Police, it would be hard for her to settle anywhere at this stage without someone being on her back. "Until then, I could really use your help." Trying to be more carefree with this serious conversation, Tenebrae could sense that Sharada felt equally uncomfortable. Swallowing the lump in his throat, the Zoroark took a pained step forward. "Then, I hope we both find our way." Unable to understand his native growl, Sharada took it as something positive and managed a small laugh. "Then, let's move on. To our next mission." Moving towards Tenebrae, she gave her Pokemon some support as he wrapped himself in his humanoid illusion. Beaten and tired, the pair struggled their way out of the tower. What they had experienced was truly legendary.
