The sky was clouded with thick branches and brush, busy tree hoppers and dark flyers scuffling about above her like some horror movie. Her heels cracked the dead fall as she went, stumbling through root and thick forest. She really should have stuck to the path it seemed, but the guy had said it was here! As much as she enjoyed the all encompassing presence of nature the flora was really starting to become claustrophobic here.
Lenore pushed her discomfort away with determination; much like the branch that had just snagged her feathered jacket. "Tch, stupid..." she mumbled to herself, twisting around to carefully free herself from the tree's grasp. The woman paused, taking in a deep breath. Other than the shroud of shadows imposed by the thicket this place could be really nice. Secluded, fresh, relatively quiet... She didn't begrudge the proprietor of this supposed new sanctuary from tucking it away in a hard to reach place. At least... she was sure this was the right way. Certainly she couldn't have gotten lost.
As she continued to stand there in silence her senses started to adjust. Now that her own movements weren't sounding maracas through the brush she thought she heard a rush of water in the distance. Not the trickle of a stream or bustle of a river, but an actual distant crashing. After a short consideration Lenore decided to let her ears do the leading. She was not disappointed.
Like a curtain sliding back, the veil of thick forest broke away into a massive green vale. It was awe inspiring to say the least. Hazel eyes widened with the sudden light beaming down over the sanctuary, illuminating a wealth of green washing over ancient behemoths whose thick branches looked to be supporting housing structures. There was a wide river separating her from them, fed by the filtered fall that had led her here. It was gorgeous.
Vigor renewed, Lenore excitedly sped for the long bridge that would take her across the small gorge of water and onto the stairway to what she could guess was the main building. Time passed like nothing as she made her way to the welcoming threshold, noting the allowance of vegetation dominating the front yard. The new trainer stopped to admire the grafted spaced.
And it seemed she wasn't alone.

Sitting at a nearby bench, a redheaded Rocket girl gave out a long, lazy yawn before removing her cap and setting it aside. Her eyes would glance to the new house guest before she would move to lay on the bench, propping her head up with a hand. While the Rocket was capable of battling, she was more content with simply watching. Watching as the resident Goomy slid on out of the nearby brush and made a beeline to greet Lenore. Some might misinterpret the little dragon's friendliness as an attack. It wouldn't be the first time. The Rocket gave another yawn before settling back to watch and see what this newcomer would do. Goomy has appeared!

She eyed the various trimmed shapes of the bushes and organic twists of the bonsai trees, marveling at how well put the decorative rocks mingled with the natural feel of the yard. A movement out of the corner of her eye caused the wide hazel gems to glance to their peripheral and notice another person shuffling their position on the bench. Lenore didn't make direct eye contact, or even turn to face the individual, but she did reign in her excitement so not to embarrass herself with girlish squeaks.
Then there was another bustle of movement, this one through the bushes. The rustling drew Lenore's full attention and a good thing too as the little critter that slid out looked like a gooey gumball someone had just spat out. A shiver crawled down her spine as she watched the jiggly mess zoom toward her. Surely if that bench sitter hadn't been presence she may have released a shriek, but thankfully Lenore caught the noise and forced it back down her throat before it could escape. Instead, her mind as aloud with questions on what the heck the thing was. Her hand darted to the base of her coat, drawing a pokéball from one of its inner loops and tossing it into the air. Emerging with barely a hop and a skip was a yawning Torchic.
"Lucy!" the showgirl cried in a commanding tone, "Teach that blob some manners with a Night Slash!" Her voice only just didn't crack.

The Rocket was... amused, to say the least. Such a matter of self control in this newcomer to contain herself. At the emergence of the local Goomy, and Lenore's reaction, she couldn't help but sit up curiously. Now this would be a battle to watch. Goomy, on the other hand, just wanted to make friends. And what a new friend emerged in Lucy indeed! Goomy was all kinds of ready to deliver hugs or licks upon the bird, but came up short when battle kicked off right away. Sensing the impending attack, the Pokemon 'blurp'ed slightly inwards before a protective barrier rose, absorbing the attack. So rough housing it was, eh? Goomy could get into that! Battle

The disgusting jiggles of the goopy pokémon didn't cease to send crawling sensations along Lenore's skin. Her visage cringing at the display, then following up with a twinge of annoyance as Lucy's attack was deflected with a protective barrier. At least the mystery pokémon had stopped shimmying it's way toward her; so that was accomplished.
"Oh? Got a few tricks ey?" The woman breathed in as if that would help settle the goosebumps from just staring at this jelly of a pokémon. "Well I don't think you can keep that one up forever. Give it another go Lucy, Night Slash again!" The torchic bobbed its head back and forth rhythmically, chirping once to confirm the order.

What a fun little game! Goomy sped up when the trainer gave a command, moving to deliver a playful tackle into the bird and sending it flying towards the nearby wall. Yet, there was plenty of things to break Lucy's movement and give her enough traction to return the favor! Darkness wrapping around her claws, the Goomy was overly dramatic with the damage and rolled around in the nearby grass a bit longer than needed. After another moment, it would eventually right itself and playfully pant as it waited for the next 'command' of attack. Battle

Lenore gasped as her poor little chick went flying passed her. That little gumball packed quite the punch! "Lucy!" she cried frightfully, twisting right around to watch the torchic recover from the impact. Still not out of the fight, the spry little bird hopped forward and delivered her own attack. Sadly it didn't have nearly as much of an effect as what had been done unto her.
The woman's fists clenched together, face scrunching for a second before shifting into a determined scowl crossing over her visage. "Fine, you want to play rough?" She had a feeling the spunky gummy goofball would take the 'play' part to heart, "Take a back seat Lucy, we're going to show this blob a more elegant sphere." The fire bird chirped with relief then skittered back away from Goomy to hide behind Lenore, of who had pulled out another pokéball. Firing that into the air the typical light trailed out and formed into a jigglypuff. Noh emerged in a dismissive stance; nose upturned and nubby arms crossed in front of her rotund body.
"Oh Noh!" Lenore chimed musically, "We have quite the performance to put on for this one. But he's a bit of a rough houser, just look at what he did to poor Lucy. Be a dear and put a damper on some of those move options with a Disable, hmm?"

True to Lenore's thoughts, Goomy heard the word 'play' and instantly got all riled up and ready to go! A momentary look of disappointment as the Torchic was recalled came upon Goomy's face, but was soon overwhelmed by a look of joy! Goomy knew Noh! They were best friends! At least to Goomy. And to show its appreciation for its friend, the Goomy surged forward to deliver a flying tackle upon Noh. Oh, it was just so happy! It backed down, doing a couple of spins in place before giving a love tackle again. It appears as though Noh has had enough of the love tackles though and her disable locks out the annoying behavior for a while. But that's okay, Goomy has other tricks too! Battle

"Yes!" Lenore quietly cheered, bringing her hands up to her chest, elbows touching and fingers interlaced. "Lovely work Noh." Sadly this bizarre blob of a pupper just wouldn't take a hint, instead getting more and more excited as time went on. The gooey purple pokémon even seemed to just be ecstatic by the jigglypuff's mere presence. May-haps sending out a similarly shaped thing was just overwhelming for the simple minded critter?
Oh it didn't matter what it was. "Now, how 'bout you beat some manners into that bouncy ball with a Pound attack?" It was worded like a suggestion but her tone made the command rather clear. Her hazel eyes narrowed with enjoyment as she stood behind Noh. Even though the goomy was a bit of a pest the thrill of battle was still invigorating.

Goomy gave another few blinks before rolling around in the grass once more and deciding on a different trick! Its large mouth began to open a big bubble began to form with a layer of drool dripping from it. With a popping sound, the bubble was sent towards Noh with considerable speed, popping against her face. Though it was more of an insult than full damage. And she returned it in kind, pounding a pink hand against Goomy to make its body jiggle slightly. Battle

The fine pink ball of sass didn't particularly appreciate the slobbery bubble that had just popped in her face. She puffed her cheeks angrily, somehow managing to balloon her bulbous figure even further. It was rather adorable really. Lenore touched a finger to her cheek as she watched the two battle it out, nearly sticking a tongue out at the gross watery body of the ever jiggling gumball bobbing around the lush green yard. She couldn't imagine what that weird purple pokémon felt like under her own hand.
"That's it Noh, keep it up! Give it another good knock on the noggin." After she said it she inwardly pondered whether the bouncing creature even had a brain to rattle around. It didn't seem like the kinda thing that would have much of a skeleton with the way it fluidly rolled about.
The fairy type responded with her signature 'puff', a determined spark in her eyes. Though, there was an underlying hint of playful rivalry as she faced the familiar Goomy.

Oh, what a game! Goomy saw that spark in Noh's eyes and knew that it was on! Bracing, the blob once again formed up a large bubble to spit upon the pink puff. It lazily floated through the air and popped with another bit of drool splashing upon Noh. It seems to have set something off in the pink one who surged forth with more force than usual, slamming a 'hand' into Goomy with considerably more force than the last time. Goomy goes tumbling backwards with enough force to be sent into the bushes. It does not re-emerge.
Goomy used Bubble! Noh used Pound and delivered a critical hit!
Noh has gained 2 levels and is now level 15! Lucy helped and gains 1 level. She is now level 6!

Lenore threw her hands into the air with a big hurrah, "Ha ha! You sure showed that little gumball, Noh." She paused to sigh, dropping her shoulders and straightening her back leaving her chin out with a wide grin. "A job well done," she added to the jigglypuff, of who puffed her cheeks and dusted herself off from all the slimy bubble water. The rambunctious trainer was rather impressed with the final delivered hit. Noh certainly knew how to throw a punch!
Twisting around to take in the rest of the garden entrance she noted that other woman had sat up from the bench. Lenore gave a wave to the old Rocket, "Sorry to disturb you," she chimed apologetically. The bench sitter looked like a tough old bird rocking that black and red, probably not someone she wanted to be on the bad side of. Turning her gaze back down to her pink puff Lenore raised the pokémon's ball and recalled her. "Guess it's time to explore the rest of this place..." she mumbled to herself, slipping Noh's pokéball into her coat.
This place was so huge it was difficult to decide where she should wander to next. Her steps were rather slow as she thought, feigning vast interest in the flora as she went.

The Rocket doesn't follow up, just giving a little wave before resuming her relaxation. Lenore would be able to move in unhindered, allowed to explore around the exterior of the house. As she rounded a corner and came upon the koi pond and sand garden, she would come across something out of a tourism guide. There, at the water's edge, sat an Eevee, slightly leaning over to lap at the water. An ear perked at the sound of Lenore arriving and the small fox would turn to face her before giving an inquisitive head tilt. Then, noticing pokeballs, it would drop into a playful stance, ready to battle! Eevee has appeared!

The sanctuary was definitely a sight to see. Expansive and beauteous, scenic too just like someone's dream vacation. Lenore loved being surrounded by the forest and how natural everything flowed together, but none of it was unkempt or raggedy. Better than picturesque. The woman took a long draw of the fresh air as she rounded into the zen garden, but the planned relaxed exhale came out in a surprised sputtering gasp. In a spout of glee she squeaked at the pokémon before her, hands rushing up to her cheeks as if that would help contain the adoration beaming out of her. "Aren't you the most adorable thing!" Lenore clasped her hands together as she debated how to approach. Oh that fluffy fur looked so soft! If only she could get close enough to pet it. But then, the Eevee ducked down into a playful waggle. It took a second for her to pick up on the signal. "Oh? A little play fight is what you want ey?" Lenore smiled, drawing Lucy's ball from her jacket and giving it a toss. The brightly feathered chick shook herself awake after emerging from the comforts of the pokéball, chirping happily at the serene surroundings. "Alright well don't go too hard on us. Lucy, give our new friend a reassuring Growl."
