Ororo walked through the underground base jotting down notes. Although she hadn’t seen any Pokemon yet, she took down careful observations of the environment she was in. Was there water, light sources, narrow or wide tunnels, etc? These were all imperative to her researching and would be helpful when proposing her thesis to the professors. Now all she needed to find was a Pokemon that she could pen down as an inhabitant to the mysterious grotto.
Staryu and Poliwag bumbled alongside Ororo as she continued to take notes. Staryu’s illuminate ability certainly was coming in handy for whatever dark crevasses they might fall into along the way. The red gem also doubled as a “sweet scent” type of effect wherein rarer and uncommon Pokemon would be drawn out from their residencies to investigate what this peculiar light was. Little did they know it was Ororo fishing for wild Pokemon to be added to her research. Polipop kept his eyes peeled as well, making sure to be wary of any Pokemon that might jump out and attempt to attack the party.
((Activating Staryu’s ability Illuminate to make uncommon and rare Pokemon are available!))
The red gem on Androgony's belly was indeed quite the alluring site to the Pokemon of the Mysterious Cave as they were not used to seeing very much light. The Staryu was also a very rare sight there as water type Pokemon never set foot in the cave. As tempting as the alluring glow it produced was none of the caves inhabitants decided to investigate until a loud series of scratches from deeper in the cave signaled something headed their way. The first Pokemon brave enough to investigate the light was a rare species rarely found in the cave. Upon reaching the area where Ororo and her Pokemon were the ground type leaped into the air mouth wide open ready to chomp down. It's sharp teeth clearly were visible as it tried to snap at Ororo aand her Pokemon but the blinding light of Illuminate messed up the crocodile's aim just enough that it could not take a successful bite out of it's targets.
Sandile had failed to take advantage of a first strike but even so it had come with the intention of a battle. Sandile were quite aggressive for their size and in particular this one was very violent trying to still snap at Ororo even at long range. It had witnessed a few brave trainers make their way to this very cave to try and capture it's kind as they were not native to Johto and Sandile had no choice but to stop her before becoming the new victim. The only problem it had to deal with was knowing what her first move would be, that would likely be answered very soon as the battle was about to get underway.
A wild level 20 Sandile appeared and due to Illuminate it will have -1 accuracy during the battle! Please select a Pokemon.
As Ororo walked through the interesting grotto, she took note of many interesting features inside. She hadn’t even thought that a water Pokemon had most likely never entered this cave, so Staryu’s presence would be quite the astonishment to the poor ground/rock/steel denizens of this secluded base. The professor-in-training didn’t think that a Pokemon would appear as quickly as it did, Staryu’s light began blinking when Ororo wasn’t paying attention. She noticed the flickering out of the corner of her eye and quickly went to Staryu.
“A Sandile! What an interesting find! I do love crocodiles and alligators, but this isn’t particularly the kind I’m known for…” She was certainly correct, the Sandile was known for its nasty behavior. Many water Pokemon were known to be quite calm, but this little fellow was certainly an angry little guy. “Perhaps it would behoove me to catch it anyway. I could always use more Pokemon in my ‘dex.” The ornery little ground Pokemon chomped its large mouth threateningly, but Ororo was obviously not startled with her artillery of marine Pokemon. “Alright Polipop, use your Water Gun!” The polliwog spewed water out from his gullet, dousing the poor croc.
Sandile was not a fast Pokemon but it was smart enough to know what was coming, before it could get out of the line of fire a small stream from water gun soaked the crocodile's face. The attack did a ton of damage as Sandile desperately tried to clear the water off of its face. Though the attack had drained a ton of energy the crocodile was not done yet and thanks to it making a move after it's target it had the perfect move to use in revenge. Getting as close to it's target Sandile made it's move to try and get some revenge.
Lifting it's tail above it's head Sandile slammed it down on Polipop with all of it's might with an assurance attack. The attack did double the usual damage as it struck after the Poliwag's attack and the small water type was barely able to hold on. Neither Pokemon could take another serious hit as they were both very close to being knocked out as the first round came to an end.
Ororo's Polipop Lvl 23 HP: 10/58 17% Status: Normal Move: Water Gun
Ooc: Your Poliwag has King's Rock pictured but Mystic Water listed as the held item. Do you happen to know which one it is holding? I went with Mystic Water for the damage but I can change it if need be.

Poliwag was certainly one of Ororo’s star pupils and one of her earliest additions to the team as well. His power level has become better and better as the two of them had trained throughout the region. This Sandile, on the other hand, was certainly an interesting Pokemon. Ororo hadn’t seen anything like it before! This cave was certainly a great idea to explore, Ororo wasn’t sure exactly how she managed to find this place, but it was quite interesting nonetheless!
The water trainer struggled with the decision to catch or kill the little croc. Ultimately, it would be useful for another addition to the PokeDex, so why not capture the little bugger? She pulled out her trusty great ball and tossed it at the Sandile, hoping for the best. Polipop cooed in anticipation of the capture, hoping that Ororo would succeed and she was his best friend in the whole world.
(( It's supposed to have Kings Rock hahah sorry March! Also dont feel too strenous with making a long post, I know you have a lot going on, just like me! ))
As strong as Sandile was that strength worked both ways and it's strength was enough to impress Ororo enough to try and capture it as she took out a Great Ball. The blue and red ball was like the sight of the apocalypse to Sandile as being captured was not in its plans for the day. Try as it might to dodge the ball Ororo had a great aim as her ball struck the crocodile right in the snout. In a bright red flash Sandile disappeared into the ball as it began to shake violently as the ground type tried to despertly escape from the ball. If it did not find a way out soon there would be no hope for freedom.
With each passing shake Sandile grew more desperate to break free and yet the ball would not budge open. It remained tightly sealed time and time again and by the third big shake Sandile was exhausted. After a loud click it was clear that the battle was over as Sandile could not fight off the capture any longer. In the mean time Pollipop began to glow in a bright white light. Unless Ororo intervened he would evolve as a result of his hard earned victory over Sandile as the great ball was digitally transferred to her pc.
Pollipop fought well and gained 2 levels and +1 happiness. He is now level 25 with 0/1951 exp needed to level up and +5 happiness. He is trying to learn Bubblebeam but he already nows 4 moves. Would you like him to forget a move so he can learn Bubblebeam? Pollipop is trying to evolve into Poliwhirl Would you like to stop the evolution?
Sandile has been captured, please complete the following code.
Ooc: No worries, either way even going by the adjusted damage this was still a successful capture. Thank you for updating that though as it is good that it was fixed to prevent anyone else from getting confused.
