Pixie had made her way to the Pokemon center after a hard day of battling she just wanted to heal her Pokemon have the biggest meal her little frame could handle. Then sleep for about twelve hours it wasn't, much to ask for really. But she was going to heal her Pokemon. She looked over at Serqet and gave a soft smile. "I'll hand you over to the nurse, get some rest ok? I'll see you in the morning." her trusted Bulbasaur gave a strong nod and was put back in her Pokeball with no arguments. Handing over her Pokeballs to the nurse, she felt good that they'd be the best care possible. I mean after all it was a Pokemon center.
She went to sit down be a table, ready to eat enough food for 10 small families. But she over heard someone talking behind her, "There's something wrong with the water sir, we cannot serve any food til it's fixed". Pixie let out a long draw out sigh escape her lips, so much for her feast fit for a king or twenty. She got to her feet and headed to her bedroom for the night.
She started to run the water at first, it looked fine and Pixie thought well maybe it was fixed. Things do often fix them selves, as she went to grab for the tap to turn it off. Some purple sludge started to drip from the tap. She drew her head to get a better look at the water. "looks like grimmer sludge." she muttered. Putting on her coat once again she stormed into the main lobby of the center. Hoping someone would help her at this time of night, but looked over at the desk to see it was emergencies only at this time of night and her normal party was stuck in there.

◄ Haley wasn't quite sure why she'd headed back to Cherrygrove. Maybe it was because she wanted to take a break from the dreariness of Violet City. Or maybe it was because she wanted the stew that the Cherrygrove Pokemon Center carried but the Violet City Pokemon Center didn't. Nevertheless, she found herself ambling through the small town. Something seemed wrong... the air around the water stank. Instead of the fresh crisp air of the town, it smelled of sludge and sewage. But perhaps they were having a sewage problem?
She found herself looking into the water, frowning at the purplish color it had taken on. It made her think of those Grimer Pokemon, but why would they be in Cherrygrove?
The young trainer shook her head, and headed back into the town. Her team needed a rest, and the water wasn't her problem. Besides, it was getting dark, and she desperately wanted a soft bed and the warm stew that the Center carried, especially after sleeping on the ground for days. Haley reminded herself to pick up a new sleeping bag, as hers was nearly flat and she could feel every stone and twig through the bottom.
A Poke Ball on her hip suddenly heated up, and she reached for it, plucking it off her belt. A red light suddenly formed a Growlithe, the fire-dog happily panting up at her trainer and wagging her tail. The dog clearly wanted to run about and play, so the trainer gave her permission, the plucky dog bounding off to wander around town.
Haley stepped into the Pokemon Center, and handed her Poke Balls over to the Nurse, saying it was okay when she was told she'd have to wait until tomorrow to get them, as they closed for the night in five minutes. She took the opportunity to rent a room, and went to ask for a stew. Before she could, however, she overheard the Nurse's assistant talking to someone else, "There's something wrong with the water sir, we cannot serve any food til it's fixed".
The trainer's shoulders slumped, and she looked outside, contemplating going to the Poke Store to pick up an easy-made meal. She could have Sirius heat it up, as they'd been working on controlling her flames.
Vaguely, she heard someone come stomping into the lobby, but was distracted as the door flew open, a familiar fire-dog barreling inside. Her jaw dropped in horror, as the dog trotted gaily up to her, tongue hanging out and tail wagging, sending purple sludge everywhere. “Oh god, Sirius! What the heck!”
The Growlithe looked up at her, clearly unaffected by the Grimer sludge that coated her pelt, hiding any orange or red. She was completely soaked in the stuff, dripping it everywhere, even from her muzzle.
The trainer grabbed the Growlithe by the scruff, grimacing in disgust at the feeling, before yanking a towel out of her rucksack and beginning to clean it off. “If you even think of shaking, you'll be out on your tail before you can say 'woof'!”

Pixie noticed the Growthile in the lobby and smiled. Pixie had a great fondness for dog Pokemon, she walked over to the pc while she getting a Pokemon while the rest healed. A man ran in to the lobby talking about the toxic water and how the source is coming from up stream. The pink haired girl raised an eye brow, and turned back to the Pokeball that appeared next to the pc. "S-sure, i'll help" while walking to the guy to see if he knew anything else. The Pokeball just picked up and bust open, and an Vulpix appeared with icey tail and main.
Katerina shook her head and mewed gently and Pixie. This was the first time Katerina had seen Jhoto in fact, it was pretty happy with the colder weather. It turned and noticed the wolf Pokemon and quicky raced over to it. Pixie's eyes widened she had never used Katerina so this scared her greatly. But Katerina quickly bowed her head to her forepaws, and jumped around playfully. Pixie who had held her breath, released a big sigh. She walked over "S-sorry, Pixie is my name. This is Katerina. D-do you want to help with the water blockage?" she stuttered.

◄ X X X X X Haley jumped as the man burst in, causing Sirius to growl as she tugged on the dog's slimy fur. The trainer mumbled an apology, listening in on the rambling man as she cleaned the last of the muck of the Growlithe's fur. 'From the river, huh?'
The girl frowned, shaking her head. She wanted to help out and rid the town of the pollution (despite her twisted morals, she wasn't going to just let the town suffer), but the only Pokemon she could access was a fire-type. She was bound to encounter water-types if she had to go to the river, and she worried after her Pokemon's safety.
The appearance of an odd-looking fox startled both, but Sirius quickly recovered, barking jovially and hanging her tongue out of her mouth as she bowed down, inviting it to play with her. Haley looked at the trainer who approached her, a girl who seemed to be about her age. “It's no worries,” she replied, chewing on the inside of her cheek nervously as she offered her hand. “I'm Haley, and this is Sirius.” She laughed quietly. “I was just about to ask you the same thing, actually.”
Hearing this, Sirius stopped playing with the ice-fox and trotted up to them, smiling at the other trainer and sitting down, offering her paw happily, tail thudding on the floor. "Growl!"

Pixie let out a sigh of relief as she said yes, but forgot to grab her hand for a short while. Before flinging her hand out awkward and shaking it. She watched as Sirius move over and also over his paw. Pixie bent down and shook it with a light giggle as the thudding noise echoed across the Pokemon center."P-pleasure to meet both of you!" she said happily. After seeing the unknown trainer leave the center, she followed him out with Katerina hot on her heals. As got out of the Pokemon centre her heart sank a little.
The city was somehow so alive at this time of evening. An old man was waving them down trying to get Pixie's attention. There was a crying boy with their carer to the left. Pixie in a bit of panic turned to see if Haley had followed. "S-so where do we got first? she asked.

◄ After a long moment the other trainer shook her hand, and Haley nodded dismissively. “And same to you.” Sirius woofed lowly, wagging her tail, happy to meet another human who might pet or scratch her.
Haley hurried after the pink-haired trainer and her oddly-colored Vulpix, Sirius hot on her heels. Everything outside seemed to be chaotic, covered in a slight miasma of purple smog, reeking of sewage. She turned up her nose, looking around first at the old man waving at them, then at the howling child, resisting the urge to cover her ears at the piercing noise.
The young trainer looked between the two at Pixie's question. “I think we should see what he wants,” she decided, gesturing towards the old man whom seemed to be trying to get their attention.

The older gentleman smiled widely, lowering his hand to clasp both together; quite pleased that he managed to catch the two trainer's attention. "Helloooo there!" he chimed. "It's nice to see some young trainers sticking around town. Not too many people are traveling about given our, unpleasant aroma, of late. People come here for the flowers but this stench is driving everyone away," he explained, a touch of sadness in his voice. His face had fallen slightly as he thought of Cherrygrove's misfortune, but quickly picked up again. "Something dastardly is clearly afoot. Ah, if only I was a bit younger. I could head up along Route 30's river straight up to the Chemical Plant and give them a stern talking to!" the old gent shook his fists for emphasize, a slightly soured expression coming over him. "Oh, heheh, sorry about that. I just love this city and hate to see it befall this polluted haze." The Guide Gent cleared his throat and gave the two girls another bright smile. Though, there was also a twinkle in his eye. "You two are probably on your journey around the region right? How exciting. Getting to venture and see all the magnificent sights. You know, there's a beautiful place right around here: Blue Moon Falls. It's right on the way to the Chemical Plant in fact. It's where our precious Quagsire live. The gentle beasts. Did you know they sometimes just hand people round baubles of all kinds? They're quite friendly."He paused for a long sigh. "Oh I just hope all this pollution isn't affecting them too badly. The river isn't looking very healthy lately." Guide Gent trailed off, taking a moment to address a pinch in his shoulder and an ache in his back. "Hehe, but listen to me ramble. Thanks for taking the time to listen to an old man like myself." The friendly elder snapped his fingers, perking up with an idea. He turned his eyes down to dig into one of his pockets, his hand returning with a large bar of candy. "Here, take this Rage Candy Bar as a thanks! It may help you or another pokémon out in a pinch!" he grinned from ear to ear, that twinkle still present in his eyes as he looked at the two young trainers. "I know you're both probably very busy on your own adventures but, I know all of Cherrygrove would be grateful if anyone had the time to check out the Chemical Plant and see what's happening with the water up river."Guide Gent offered Haley & Pixie one Rage Candy Bar! Be sure to use it in the quest if needed, as it can't be kept once the quest has ended!

Pixie walked over to the old man in front of his house, he looked worried and was oddly sniffing the air. Seeing this strange man sniffing the air, Pixie did the same. But the smell made her face fold in on it's self. "Oh my, what an awful smell how did I miss this coming in?! she exclaimed. Finally getting to the man she was about to say her hellos but before she could. The man kick jumped into a rant about the air and how great the city was and a load of other useless information until.
Blue Moon Falls was mentioned Pixie had a light bulb come over her head. She had heard a lot about this place in books she read when she was younger. Though she never liked Quagsire, she always thought it was a bit of a dumb Pokemon. But she never wanted them to get hurt she looked over at Haley. "Ok lets go! Down Route 30 after all, that where the lady seems to need help!" she was half making a point of something to do or just be knocked down by Haley. "Let's visit the Chemical Plant after whatever... This is"

◄ Haley and Sirius walked over to the old man along with Pixie, both trainer and Growlithe turning up their noses at the rotten stench that permeated the City. It had become thick, to the point they could nearly taste it. The trainer could hardly imagine how much it was effecting her Growlithe, considering how much stronger her sense of smell was.
Pixie spoke aloud, sharing a sentiment that both agreed to. However, before Haley could voice this the old man started yapping on and on about Cherrygrove and 'if he was younger'. She zoned out until he paused, wherein she snapped to attention. As he continued to speak, Haley and Sirius shared a look. 'A Quagsire? But a Quagsire wouldn't cause such a smell.'
Haley accepted the Rage Candy Bar with a polite thank you, and turned away from the man. She looked at Pixie as the girl spoke again, and nodded in agreement. “Yeah, let's do that.”
The wailing of the kid caught her attention again, and she closed her eyes for a moment. “Let's just make sure the kid's not dying or something before we do anything else.” The young trainer turned and approached the frazzled woman with the hollering kid.
Pointedly not looking at the kid, she spoke to the woman. “Something wrong, ma'am?”

The pair were ready to get to the bottom of this smelly plague wafting through the fair Cherrygrove city. But, as they turned to start getting along on their way another shriek assaulted their ears from the child tantruming nearby. It certainly wasn't a pretty sight to say the least. The lady accompanying the child shushed loudly, removing her hat to try and make a wall between them and at least one angle of onlookers so as to, hopefully, make less of a scene in the streets. A faint flush of red was present on her cheeks as the two trainers got closer to the disruptive kid. "Ssshhhh, please calm down. This is unseemly!" the woman urged as nicely as she could, her tone hinting she was nearing the end of her wits with her boy. The young kid couldn't have been much more than five at a rough estimate, and he was currently on the ground flailing his arms and tossing pebbles wherever he pleased. He continued to wail on, caring not for his mother's words. Haley's voice snapped the brunette's attention upward, a sudden start causing her gasp lightly and she made to rise from her crouch. "Oh dear, I'm so sorry. I hope we're not disturbing you." Her head turned down to her child whimpering on the ground beside. "Come on now Andy, please. Our ruckus is upsetting these nice girls--""I don't CARE! *sniffle* I'm THIRSTY! I wanna drink NOW! WAAAHHH!" The child's face was puffed up like a balloon, and nearly the correct shade of red at this point. Snot dribbled down from his nose while tears soaked his cheeks. The woman hid her face behind her hat for a second, hands gripping the brim like a stress ball. "I told you, the PokéMart is in the next district," she began, keeping staggering control of her voice. "Just a few minutes walk and I can get you a drink. Now, get up and you can have what you want. Then we can leave everyone in peace.""No no no no NO! My legs are tired. I don't wanna walk anywhere! No walking! I want a DRINK!"With an agitated sigh the lady dropped the hat from her face, desperate eyes falling upon Haley & Pixie; a thought hitting her. "I--Could I ask a favor of you?" The mother's voice trembled slightly, but she kept it soft as she voiced her plead. "Could you please take some of my change and purchase a drink for Andy? He's just impossible to deal with when he's like this." The lady slipped a hand into a pocket and pulled out some cash, offering it out to the trainers. "Any drink is fine, a water would probably do."At that moment the boy perked up, throwing himself into a seated position and raising a fist to the air. "SODA POP! I want a Soda!""Andy you don't need any more sugar! Besides, I only have a bit of change so--""SOOOOOOOODDDAAAAAA!"The mother muttered something under her breath. "We're not hard to find at least," she joked as a quick cover, smiling uncomfortably at the two that had approached. The Lady has offered 300 and asked for help with purchasing a drink from the local PokéMart

Pixie nodded in agreement after all, we were all kids once. Somewhere clearly louder then others, but kids all the same. As they came closer she heard what the boy was screaming about, it was just thirsty something so simple yet so loud. She wanted to cover her ears, Kat her ice Vulpix had already done so with her floppy ears. Pixie looked over pretty jealous at her new Pokemon partner, she wished she could stop this noise.
But Pixie went other with a smile, and kneeled down in front of the boy and wiped the ters of his cheek as he was crying. "Hey there little guy, don't cry we can get you a drink. But you have to be good to your mother for the rest of the day" she told the boy. The boy seemed to stop cry with a mixture of what the mum and Pixie had said. Well for a short time, before crying about wanting soda.
Pixie let out a long, deep sigh as she got to her feet. She swear she could feel a vein popping out the back of her neck, but she kept her cool and walked back to Haley with a soft smile but a clear roll of her eyes when they both couldn't see. "Me and Kat will go back to the PokeMart you try and make it easier for the mother" she whispered over to Haley. With that she ran off to the Pokemart, she ran straight to the drinks isle to see the water had almost all gone. They needed to fix this and fast, or the bottled water would be out of stoke soon. She grabbed a bottle not really looking to see what bought.
When getting to the til she noticed soda written on the label she rolled her eyes. That kid shouldn't get something so tasty, after all that kid was a brat. But she was to awkward to take it back at the til and she ran back to Haley with a smile on her face once again getting on her knee "here you go kid.

Haley watched as Pixie easily handled the little kid, feeling completely out of her element. She'd never been around little kids except the few stints she'd done in orphanages, and never really learned how to put up with them. To her they were just loud, weird looking miniature humans. She often envied some of her Pokemon, as they were able to merely cover their ears without being called out on as being very rude.
When the kid finally quieted, both Haley and Sirius relaxed but, before Haley could thank Pixie, the boy began to cry again for soda. Haley stared at him as though he'd grown another three heads; growing up as she had, soda was a rarity that was usually flat and half drunk and in the garbage bins. Anything other than water that didn't come from rain or public fountains was, actually. She could never imagine ever acting in such a manner.
"Me and Kat will go back to the PokeMart you try and make it easier for the mother"
“Wait wh-!” but before Haley could cut in, Pixie had taken off with her Vulpix hot on her heels. She turned back to the kid and stared at him, wide-eyed, for a long moment before grabbing Sirius by the nape, pushing the yelping Growlithe towards the boy, “Like Pokemon? Here, you can play with mine!” and backing up to a safe distance.
As the boy began to tug on her ears, tail, and long fur, Sirius gave Haley a forlorn look. “What did I do to you?”
Haley was certain she'd never been more relieved than when Pixie approached, and knelt down in front of the kid before offering him a soda pop.

With his tears rubbed away by the soft talking lady and the possible promise of a soda the kid teetered back and forth on his bum, legs bent to the side with his hands holding his feet together. "Bye!" he cried after the pink haired girl. The mother had a wash of relief flood her visage, the grip on her fine hat loosening slightly now that the screaming was done. He was like a completely different kid now, though still rather energetic. Just now instead of expending that energy screaming like a spoiled brat he was jittering about. Until, that is, he eyed Haley enough humming away badly to an unknown tune that she sacrificed her growlithe to his whims. The kid couldn't be happier. And the mother gave the rough edged trainer an apologetic smile in silent thank you. "You be nice now Andy okay. Don't want him to burn your fingers if you're too rough," she warned, hoping it would give Sirius an easier time interacting with her son. It wasn't long before a breathless Pixie returned in much haste, handing over a beverage as promised. "Oh my!" the woman half gasped, a shy smile showing. "What do you say Andy?""YAY! Thank you!" The boy immediately went to guzzling down the soda. "Well we best be going. I expect the town would enjoy the peace and quiet," she half laughed, thanking the two girls once again for their help. The mother and her kid departed down the path, keeping near the river bank instead of going deeper into the city. A little ways down the boy shook his bottle, the metallic chime of liquid still swishing inside entertaining him for a moment before he tossed it aside. Bits of spray tailed along as the container rolled down the mild slope and found itself in the grips of the sludge filled water and was carried down stream. Peace is returned to the streets of Cherrygrove! Though it doesn't seem to have helped the polluted water situation

Pixie gave a sheepish smile to Haley as she just got up and disappeared and left her to deal with the screaming kid. As they walked away she watched the kid carelessly toss the rest of the bottle into the river. She let out a deep and angry sigh. "Kids, I'll never want them. she giggled awkwardly partly to Haley but mostly to her self.
Turning to see the long path down the route 30, she turned to Haleys dog pokemon. She kneeled down and started to scratch behind Sirius's ear. "I'm sorry about leaving you, but you're a good boy for not attack him. Like a really good boy!" she told him. As looked down the path they found there selves at the front of apple tree with one low hanging apple. She looked over at Haley before smiling "Would you like a snack?!"

Haley groaned in the back of her throat as she watched the kid throw the soda can into the river, Sirius seeming to share her sentiments are she huffed, shaking her head. When Pixie expressed her sentiments, the trainer gave a rare laugh. “You're not the only one.”
The Team Rocket Grunt grinned again when Pixie knelt down to thank Sirius, the fluffy dog grumbling low in her throat as she happily accepted the scratches. As much as she liked her trainer, she wasn't very tactile and was often busy with other things. The Growlithe's tongue flicked out to lick Pixie's hand happily as she withdrew to point at the nearby apple tree.
"Would you like a snack?!"
Haley nodded, and approached the tree, the short trainer having to stretch up to pluck the lone apple off the branch. Pulling her swiss-army knife from her pocket, she flicked out the switch blade and cut it in half, offering half to her fellow trainer while skinning her own. “Want it skinned?”
