Stepping foot into the rather dilapidated building was an idea Tanya was sure she would regret, the redhead sighing under her breath as she did just that. The interior was a little less ragged, though it could hardly be called much of an improvement. If Tanya hadn't learned what this place was really about, she'd had avoided it like the plague. But the lure of 'hidden abilities' proved too appealing, and she had the perfect candidate in mind to test out the services offered. It was hard to miss the medium as one entered, so Tanya made her way over to the woman after taking a ball free from her bag. "Hi there. I'm Tanya, and I was told you can unlock the hidden abilities of Pokemon," the redheaded trainer began, smiling in a friendly way.
She sent out the Pokemon in the ball, revealing a tall, lithe Lopunny who stretched out her arms with a wide yawn. "If you would be so kind, my dear Angelus here could use some of that dream world mojo," Tanya continued, shaking her head slightly at Angelus' exaggerated pout. Angelus hadn't spent time with her trainer in ages, and she wasn't even going to do it while awake? Talk about a buzzkill. Tanya had told her before in the center, after teaching her a TM move, what her plans were, but it didn't make the Lopunny feel much better about not being able to hog her trainer's attention again. "Whenever you're ready, both of you." Angelus crossed her arms, shifting closer to her trainer after giving the lady running the place a lookover and deciding she was a bit creepy.

Tanya was correct in her assumption that the dream seer could unlock the hidden ability of her Pokemon. Though there were two ways the elderly mystic could unlock Angelus's hidden ability it appeared the red hared trainer wanted to go wtih the more challenging of the two options. With that in mind the dream seer walked towards a large black cauldron and poured a thick liquid into it. Within seconds the room filled with a purple mist that obscured the vision of Tanya and her Pokemon for several seconds during which Angelus fell into a deep slumber.
In her dreams she awoke to see a strange looking bird Pokemon across from her. The Hawlucha was the key to unlocking her hidden ability and only by defeating it would she be able to aquire what she was after. The ability guardian glared over at the rabbit Pokemon and let out a loud caw to signal the start of the battle. It would show no mercy here as it waited to see what the rabbit would try first. As confident as it was however it had to be careful not to make any judgemental errors as Angelus had a few tricks of her own.

Tanya coughed as the mist spread around the room, fanning the air in front of her face in an attempt to clear it. She knew it was in vain, as it was meant only to help Angelus fall asleep, but she couldn't quite help herself. Angelus uttered a rather adorable snore after drifting off, her trainer's not quite stifled laughter thankfully missed. But even if the Lopunny had heard the laugh, she had other things to attend to as she groggily woke in the dream world and noticed the Hawlucha standing nearby. Suddenly alert, Angelus leapt up and met its glare with one of her own. Her blood was already starting to boil, and for once she was actually looking forwards to a battle.
It was a feeling that didn't surprise her, as she'd always found excuses for her 'battle hungry moods' - jealousy being the biggest one. But deep down she did enjoy the thrill of the fight, and while Angelus wasn't sure what this strange Pokemon was capable of, the Normal-type wasn't too concerned. She smiled coyly at the Hawlucha, drawing herself up straight and batting her big ol' eyes to amp up the charm. Whether this worked in lulling her opponent into believing she was harmless, or not, Angelus drew upon a hidden power from within herself to prepare an Ice Beam to strike with.
The bunny's charms didn't seem to have much effect on the brightly colored guardian. It's gaze remained sharp, its posture moving into more of a fighting stance; claws ever facing outward in a menacing fashion. The pokémon facing her looked more like a mascot than anything. How tough could it be?
Angelus decided to start off with a surprise, working up power granted to her by her trainer. Considering the wings on her opponent it was a safe bet the typing would result in a rather devastating hit. However, the wrestling pokémon wasn't so easily tricked by those big cutesy eyes. The bloodthirsty twinkle in her eyes was clear, and Hawlucha met it with a spark of its own. The fighting bird crossed its arms defensively in front of it, spreading its stance as it began building up an energy of its own. It didn't really look like it was doing anything but posturing though, Angelus brushing it off with a quiet chuckle as she amassed her own power.
With a smooth motion she adjusted her stance and unleashed the frosty beam. The torrent of snow and ice shot toward her target, of who remained unmoving. It looked like it was going to be an easy win, but as the ice beam made its way to Hawlucha's beak it was suddenly met with a wall of force. A flash of bright light erupted before Angelus' eyes, a burst of wind combating the strength of her beam and causing it to dissipate in mid air.
Hawlucha huffed, uncrossing its arms and pounding its clawed hands together. It spread its arms wide afterward and let out another confident caw. Coming from something more than a head shorter than Angelus it looked rather comical really.

Angelus | LV 23 | Klutz HP: 100% (70/70) Status: Normal Used Ice Beam!
Put out by the Hawlucha's unchanging face, Angelus nevertheless kept her cool - this wasn't the time to throw a tantrum. And besides, it was obvious this was shaping up to be a good battle, one she didn't have to share with any other Pokemon Tanya owned. The fierce look in her opponents eyes only made her blood grow hotter, the slender rabbit cooling it off with her frosty beam of energy. She'd brushed off the posturing Hawlucha had been doing as nothing more than warming up, and let loose her attack with all her confidence behind it. But when the beam struck an invisible wall that completely nullified it, Angelus was left staring indignantly at the Hawlucha. What trickery!
She huffed, stamping a foot in a small display of temper that was quite tame compared to her usual outbursts. This smarmy, goofy-looking bird thought it was clever? It clearly didn't know what it was up against. Angelus adjusted the ribbon tied around one of her ears, trying to stifle down the rage that threatened to cloud her thoughts. No, this bird was going to feel her Ice Beam one way or another, no matter how hard she had to try to get past its silly tricks. Drawing herself up tall, an easy accomplishment given how she already towered over her opponent, Angelus' mouth opened in readiness for another attempt with Ice Beam.
Hawlucha didn't even bother to assume any fighting stance this time. The lopunny's stamp was near a trigger for the wrestling pokémon's next move. While she stood tall and strong gathering energy, towering over the winged guardian, the colorful bird fighter set forward with a dramatic lunge. It launched into the nondescript sky of this dreamy landscape, knee promptly forward as it soared toward Angelus. Feathers shuffling lightly in the brush of air rushing passed it was very swiftly upon her, sharp eyes boring down on the bunny's angry glare. She was close to assembling the frosty power.
There was a moment where it was a question of who would strike first. Hawlucha bolting down with a claw arm outstretched, or Angelus turning her aim onto her target now at the mercy of gravity. But those wings weren't just for getting a bit of air. Hawlucha flapped its cape-like wings to get a sudden burst of speed down toward Angelus, its arm slamming down in an expert karate chop just on her shoulder. Pain wracked her body. She dropped to a knee but that was all. Her eyes were ablaze with a well fueled rage that flooded her with adrenaline to dull the sensation. As her opponent touched the ground she unleashed her fury in a near point blank blast of winter. The acrobatic birdman was blown back a reasonable distance, sliding along the grey ground on the flat of its back.

Angelus | LV 23 | Klutz HP: 50% (35/70) Status: Normal Used Ice Beam!
Carmine eyes watched the Hawlucha spring easily into the air, the cape-like feathers rustling enticingly. They would certainly make an ideal target if she wanted to keep this annoying, brightly coloured menace from trying to escape her attacks. But on the other paw, maybe those powerful legs were better suited to blasting with ice to just keep it still long enough for her to put the Hawlucha in its place. Driven out of her thoughts by the slight sound of Hawlucha's incoming dive, Angelus lifted her head just in time to see it bearing down on her lightning quick as it delivered a powerful strike that forced her down on one knee with a choked back cry of pain.
If the Lopunny had thought she was mad before, it had nothing on the molten fury that burst through the agony to let her strike back with a vengeance. Even though Hawlucha had gone sliding back in a satisfying sort of way, Angelus wasn't ready to call herself appeased, and rose back up on both feet with a fierce battle cry. She clenched her fists together, dancing about on the spot to get her blood pumping even more. Eyes flashing, Angelus struck a pose and readied her next attack, a still familiar Ice Beam - but it was the best chance she had at really damaging this bird now that she knew it was a partial Fighting-type.
Hawlucha had sprung back up, feathers a little ruffled but it seemed rather unbothered by it. He puffed out his well muscled chest and readied for another bout, a rise in excitement as the lopunny appeared to do the same. Its beaked mouth split into a pleased grin as it observed the posture. Despite the multiple frosty beams its blood was running hot, its limber legs proceeding to bounce it lightly back and forth as it prepared for another exchange with the bunny. Soon it was off, another flying start as it zoomed toward Angelus in a low glide. It flipped in the air, landing short and jutting off to the side to swiftly land another devastating karate chop on her mid section.
The blow brought a wash of white hot pain flooding through her, vision blurring in a flash. But there was something in her that fought it off; numbed her. Her rage was peaked, adrenaline coursing through every inch of her body and fueling her desire to best this opponent. Hawlucha attempted to prance away but its bright colors betrayed it, as even through the dizzy haze those vibrant hues were easy to pick out. Angelus released another burst of ice that sent the dream guardian tumbling away once again. The wrestling pokémon shook as it pushed itself back up, panting, but still managed to stand.

Hawlucha | LV 23 | Limber HP: 6% (5/76) Status: Normal Used Karate Chop!
Angelus | LV 23 | Klutz HP: 1% (1/70) Status: Normal Used Ice Beam!
Hanging on by mere threads, it was a testament to sheer will - and a heaping dose of fury - that kept Angelus standing. She swayed on her feet, focusing all of her attention into readying her attack and most definitely NOT noticing Hawlucha swooping in for another strike. No amount of concentration, however, could entirely block out the pain, Angelus nearly doubling over from the blow to her midsection. But she wouldn't be deterred, letting lose her icy attack with a numb sense of satisfaction as it hit home. What little energy she had left wasn't much, yet she still stood, and her opponent also. She could end this - no, she had to.
It didn't take a skilled eye to see her foe was in little better shape than herself, Angelus glancing over the bird with a critical gaze. No amount of self-puffery would hide its fatigue for long, and its attempts to catch its breath were hard to miss. Angelus didn't have the natural speed to strike before it took her down for good, but she knew something that would lend her that speed, even just temporarily. Drawing herself up tall, the stubborn Lopunny rallied the dredges of her strength into one and sprang towards her foe, swifter than normal as she tried to finish this fight with one last Quick Attack.
It was a staring contest to start. The end moments. Both parties glaring each other down with equal rage. The emotion that would determine who came out of this a victor. Angelus wasn't about to let the chance slip passed her. She was no battle slouch, her experience spoke for itself simply in the form she currently held. What would decide the outcome of the final strike wouldn't be power: it was speed. She was also not so naive to leave anything to chance. The hawlucha's natural slipperiness had been causing her problems this entire time, but now it was her turn to turn the tables.
The wrestling pokémon was confident in its speed and that was its downfall. Up till now Angelus hadn't shown any mobility prowess, staying relatively planted as she fired out beams. Hawlucha was careless, making its usual, albeit labored, approach with intent to strike down the rabbit. However, when it was somewhat near its target the brown bunny disappeared in a flash. There was only a second of panic as the realization set in. It was over.
Angelus came up on Hawlucha's side and delivered a weary kick to the back of her opponent's knee. It wasn't a powerful hit, but it was all that was needed; all her energy spent on delivering the blow swiftly. The colorful bird-fighter crashed to the ground, sliding a little ways before lying still. She reveled in the victory, feeling a looseness warm her muscles. Soon the dream Hawlucha faded away as did the other bland features surrounding her. Blackness overcame her vision for half a second before she would find herself awake in the little hut, smoke hovering over her as she lay on the floor.
