After arriving at Ecruteak City, Ethan was checking in the Pokemon Center for a guide on where to go next. There was a gym here and a theater here, and a lot of culture here. However, something struck him about the little house that was on the wee edge of town. He later found out from listening in on Pokemon Center cafeteria conversation that a mystic lived there and she could awaken big potential for Pokemon.
He took one of his Pokemon that he thought the potential could be even better, by swapping out his Azumarill and Snorunt, and then visited the hut. He knocked on the door as he waited for a response, wondering what's happening next.
"Come in!" a shrill old voice croaked threw the door. Heading the welcome Ethan would step into the hut and be greeted with a wash of various incense clouding the room. An old woman was finishing up arranging something on a shelf on the far end of the room. "Welcome young lad. Just let out your pokémon on the mat there in the center of the room and I'll be over in a second." The elderly woman hadn't even glanced over, but her instructions were clear. Between them in the near center of the little hut was a clear space with what looked like a yoga mat set with a few candles encircling it and two cushions sitting on opposite sides.
Once Ethan had done as instructed the revered seer spun around having finished whatever it was she had been doing and made her way over to the cushion closest to her. "So how are you wanting to do this?" he spoke, eying the boy up and down with a considering hmmmm. Before Ethan could even respond she raised a hand, "Never mind, you don't look like the type to dish out the cash up front." Though her body language made her words seem dismissive there was a softening of her visage that said otherwise. "Now then. Just lay down here on the mat little one. Head toward me." The seer pointed to the end of the mat by her as she seated herself on the cushion.
Once Haphrost was settled the seer hovered her hands over his head and took a deep breath. "Just relax and let your mind wander..."
Soon the sounds and smells of the hut would disappear. Haphrost's minds eyes went black before brightening back in to a massive cavern. It was a field of stalagmites, water dripping down with echoing plops and rippling off of a near lake. It was homely. Though, the pleasant surroundings were disturbed as something arose from the dark mirror of water. It was a fish, slender and blue, and it was zooming in on the snorunt. As it came close it slowed, swimming in the air around the maze of varying rock formations. It didn't look too happy.
A perturbed Remoraid (LV 25) appeared! Ability: Moody
When the Snorunt woke up, he was in a cavern with various rocky structures in it, as well as a pool of water. Soon enough, a slim little blue fish known as Remoreid jumped out and eyeing the ice type. Snickering happily that the cool cavern have room for such a slippery opponent, Haphrost hopped happily at first, and then began chasing after the fish. He wanted to have a Bite at the opponent, and see if his dream would even give him a taste of fish. Hopping and climbing on the rocks in the cavern, he made his way as he tried to narrow the distance between the two Pokemon. When opportunity arise, he'll jump for a bite!
Haphrost raced forward, zigzagging around the arrangement of stalagmites in order to make his way to get a good bite down on that juicy looking fish. However, before the hyper little ice type could get close enough to lunge forward with those menacing chompers the water pokémon had some thoughts about the intruder. A burst of bubbles streamed out of its mouth and slammed into the snorunt. Each pop that went up in Haphrost's face was like being flicked in the nose, an annoying pang building up on Haphrost's face.
Once it was over his head ached, but he was still determined to take a chunk out of that cheeky fish; especially so now. Haphrost leaped into the air and did just that. Remoraid thrashed wildly to get the bulky runt off of it, and once accomplished made sure to keep a lock on the pointy yellow pokémon. There was a rage in the fish's eyes for sure. Its gaze steady and relentless.
Haphrost | LV 25 | Inner Focus HP: 59% (40/67) Status: -1 SPD Used Bite!
(Just a side note, since these aren't group or event threads you shouldn't be able to have Alex/Ethan doing Dream Seer + Journey threads... so we'll finish up the Sandshrew & Snorunt but going forward keep to the specified modded thread limit)
The Ice type didn't like the feeling of those bubbles popping on his face! Though he was surprised that even in his dream state, the fishy opponent actually tasted like something! He would have thought that being in a dream, his tasting would be bland. Well, this dream was more vivid that he thought! Now he was intrigued, and wanted a clearer bite once more. He gleefully danced on his feet for a couple seconds, and then made the jump to the nearest stone formations, and leaped around trying to get a second bite on this raw tilapia.
OOC: well imma finish this one first then the sandshrew might take a while
Remoraid only seemed to get more and more annoyed that this cave intruder wasn't getting the hint. Eyes narrowed, fine lightly swiping across the terrible bite it'd received moments before, the floating fish hissed its displeasure and began charging a laser. A ball of bright energy formed in its open mouth, remoraid having no difficulty in keeping up with the excited snorunt and keeping a lock on the target, and soon all the energy was released in a singular psychic beam. The energy blasted into Haphrost's chest a second after the ice type buckled down. Thankfully his bottom heavy shape made it trivial to remain standing through it all. Once the beam had finished he shook himself and skipped back into the game, gunning forward with his big mouth primed and ready to get another good mouthful of fish. It wasn't exactly any more pleasurable than the last bite; for Remoraid at least.
The Snorunt had been blasted, and he could feel himself getting weaker. He didn't like where this was going, especially this was his own dream. However, how much does one have control of their dream anyways? If people had control, then there wouldn't be nightmares right? He gulped nervously, as he realized his dream was turning to a nightmare soon. He wondered if luck would be in his side. Even though his physical body was asleep, he could feel that when he woke up, it would be a woozy.
Staring at the floating fish with defiance, he leaped the stone structures to make his way for another bite again. He might as well make this dream as exciting as he could. Though, there was just something unsettling about a weird fish beating you in your own dream. It doesn't even look terrifying?!
What an interesting yet complicated ability this fishy has! However, I, the narrator can relate to being moody quite constantly. The dream seer always offered psychedelic adventures, this was certainly the challenge however. The good thing about the dream seer is that these battles didn’t affect the present *too bad* so the worry of loss is no big deal! The bonus was an amazing ability that could really make a weak Pokemon into one of the strongest.
This pipe dream Remoraid was quite the catch! It boasted some heavy attacks that could really make even the strongest Pokemon quake in its wake. Out came a murderous Aurora Beam that pierced the Snorunt’s little face! This thing was getting stronger and stronger by the minute, it’d be best to take it out as soon as possible. Lady luck was in Haphrost’s favor that day, with the bite attack coming in hot, the dream fish couldn’t hold its ground against the strong jaw. Slowly Snorunt began to wake up, now with a completely new ability that kicks ass! Hooray.
Haphrost felt like it had woken up from a vivid and heavy dream, as he opened his eyes in the mystic's little house again, feeling like he just woke up from the bad dream. Thankfully though, he did feel some renewal of inspiration, or power. Maybe next time that he got sent into the battle, he'll wreck some havoc or something. Ethan thanked the mystic for the dozy dream she had put the ice type in. He collected his Pokemon, and figured maybe he'll come back again. He gently closed the door on his way out, and wondered what happened to his Pokemon just now.
